oh my god the amount of tech macgyvering it took to get my email and password updated for instagram

#bc the account was ancient so it was linked to my old email that i can't access anymore #AND i couldn't remember the password to it #so i had to use that 'account manager' thing to change my email in facebook (where i do remember my password)#then go into instagram and add the email to those accounts (therefore switching it from my old inaccessible email)#and THEN when I'd confirmed the email change. i was able to change the passwords using the new email #holy FUCK that was way harder than it needed to be #but one of my instagram accounts is my business account so I couldn't just delete and start over #all this just to attempt to change my name in the account to my chosen name
