Binged Agatha All Along with my partner over the weekend. We had a good time. I could go on about how good a show in general this was or how I liked all the overt queerness of the show, but one more subtle thing that really was when Alice initially referred to Teen with gender neutral language when first tackling him for stealing. As a nonbinary person it felt nice to see that sort of smaller but intentional allyship portrayed in a Marvel tv show

I've spent so long with YouTube Premium and using adblockers that I'm almost completely insulated from ads. Now I lost premium for a variety of reasons and I hate it so much. I can't add an adblocker to YouTube on my phone and PiHole doesn't work with YT anymore. Yes free services and creators need to make money, but I hate that I have to pay money to not be marketed to.

AI is so stupid and unserious and it would be so fun if it wasn't just wasting resources and stealing things.

Like the broader technology has legitimate uses and benefits but noooo we gotta use it for theft and destroying the environment and overall worsening the human experience. All because some tech billionaires made a fancy new hammer and are trying to turn everything into a nail for the sake of justifying their own existence to stockholders and society.

The Tumblr algorithm is a little too comfortable giving me pictures of barely clothed anime people. I unfortunately linger in them a little too long out of both appreciation and mild confusion to find it on my dash, only to then encourage it to give me more. Not to say I'm mad at getting art of beautiful people, but sometimes I'm just not prepared or am in public or both

The spirituality one is HUGE imo. A lot of people feel lonely and aimless and it's exacerbated by having a fire hose of bad news blasting at all times juxtaposed against beautiful strangers living "perfect" lives. All of it makes everyone feel shitty and most people don't have the tools to deal with it.

things we need to address:

gen z men getting pulled into alt-right pipelines through andrew tate, joe rogan, elon musk, jordan peterson etc

the gullibility and stupidity of half the country voting against our collective best interests

the broad effect social media has on public and common good

lazy minds and lack of empathy

outside-country interference (trump and elon’s connections to russia and the amount of bots from other countries spreading misinformation)

the long-term effects of AI and rampant disinformation

Slowly discovering random Tumblr features years after Tumblr's prime makes me feel like a grandparent that just joined Facebook but also I'm the exact age of people who were on Tumblr in its prime
