I love selpa and all, but i really love to see insmeeth instead. Anyways, since you seem to like meekrob, do you have any headcanons about them? Or insmeeth?

Meekrob: A species of energy-based lifeforms that inhabit a binary star system planet of the same name. Each Meekrob is composed of two or more singular beings making up one whole. The separate beings within the gestalt are identical and share a mind, though they also may have slightly different personalities. Meekrob are never alone – the separate halves often engage in conversation with one another, and thoughts are constantly cycled between the two minds.

Each part of the Meekrob has its own individual name that are combined to make their full given name; for instance, Insmeeth’s halves are, separately, named Ins and Meeth.

Biology: Meekrob are functionally immortal. As energy beings, they never grow old or succumb to illness. Death is extremely rare – but on the other side of the coin, Meekrob births are also. Meekrob are genderless and asexual, and though they can procreate, it typically results in the death of the parent. The halves of the Meekrob combine their energies into birthing a new life, and the energy expenditure often results in the parent Meekrob living just long enough to witness their creation before perishing.

They are made of plasma and can control their temperature, though you risk being burned or zapped if you touch one! They feel like soft gel.

The entities within a Meekrob CANNOT be split. If they are more than a few feet away for more than a few minutes, both halves will deteriorate, fall apart, and perish.

Leadership, Religion, and Life: The Meekrob are governed by The Eight, two ancient Meekrob, each made of four beings. Theirs is a peaceful society, that encourages friendly relationships with other species in the galaxy. They are very spiritual beings as a whole, believing in the energy of the universe itself as a higher power.

They gather in large numbers and “dance”, moving like jellyfish undulating through the ocean. They are very fond of music, and tend to change colors with the beat.

Abilities: They are adept shapeshifters, able to use their telekinetic powers to “read” other species and accurately assume their forms. They are also able to discharge electricity. Meekrob communicate with one another through telepathy, connected through a psuedo-hivemind; this method of communication gives them the ability to read the thoughts of most other species as well, including many lower life forms.

Insmeeth: Young, angry and violent, Insmeeth is an abberation among their more peaceful kind. They possess a sadistic side that only grew worse the more their society shunned them. They learned to brawl from visitors to the planet, and later in off-planet fight clubs – their cunning, vicious instincts, and experience fighting are all things that contributed to their survival when Meekrob fell to the Irkens.

Bad at shapeshifting, but good at making people feel terrible about themselves, most would say that Insmeeth has few redeeming qualities. But they are also intelligent and introspective, and more than willing to risk death to protect the few they care for.

So ins and meeth have different personalities? What are they like?

Like most Meekrob, the two halves of Insmeeth are usually on the same page about most things, but they do have slight differences in personality.

Ins tends to be the cautious and thoughtful side, while Meeth is more aggressive but also more curious. The Meekrob mind is basically in constant rapid-fire conversation with itself, so any disagreements are smoothed out within seconds.

That innately quick wit is what makes Selpa a great spy! It's also what enables him to annihilate the self-esteem of lesser men with such laser precision. 🤣

I was wondering, do you have ocs of the eight that rule the meekrob?

I just have vague ideas about what they're like, probably pretty intimidating for blobs of electric jelly. I meant this to be a sketch to illustrate how I imagine them, but as usual it got out of hand.

Can you please tell us more about selpa life bringer? What was their reaction when they knew selpa was going to mopping 10?

Sure! So, each Meekrob is comprised of two entities. They reproduce through a type of fission, so no other Meekrob is needed in the process. Making a baby Meekrob requires a ton of energy, and usually the parent doesn't survive the process.

Selpa's did! Their name was Aishdeel, and they were basically everything their child wasn't. Kind, loving, forgiving, and very excitable. They enjoyed puns and nature.

Selpa (Insmeeth, before they took Irken form) was a bit of a menace on Meekrob, and was sentenced to Moo-Ping 10 right before the invasion. Aishdeel was horrified, worried - and plotting a way to get their delinquent child out of the situation. Unfortunately, they never got the chance, as they didn't survive the Irken takeover.

They didn't have a perfect relationship, but Aishdeel and Insmeeth loved each other, and one of Selpa's biggest regrets is wishing he'd been kinder to his Life-Bringer.

Hello! Um, Are you ok? How have you been doing?

Hello!

I am fine, thank you for asking. I had some health issues a while back, but all seems okay now after several unhelpful doctor visits. 👍

Most recently, I'm struggling with mental health. ADHD especially, which has gotten worse as I get older. I kinda thought my mental health would even out with every birthday, but apparently that is not the case. Sitting down to work steadily on a project is nearly impossible - it's a good day if I can get five to ten minutes of writing or drawing done at a time. It's become very frustrating to live like this, but I'm trying to manage, and continue working on things when I can! I have so many things I want to do (including finishing Éxtasis oh my god I'm so sorry for people who wait so patiently for every chapter - I promise I'm doing my best!)

Anyway, that's part of what's going on behind the scenes here! Also I don't go outside anymore because it's been 105+ degrees for three weeks straight.

I don’t know if you have answered this but how old are zim and selpa dib is in his 30’s right

I don't think I've answered this anywhere, actually!

Dib is just reaching 30 in Nullified.

Zim is around 200 human years - the human analogue would be about the same age as Dib, a youngish adult.

It gets complicated with Selpa since he's an amalgam of two different species. The PAK personality is about 400 years old, he was around long before Zim.

The Meekrob part (Insmeeth) is about 1500+ years - but in Meekrob terms that's pretty young. They'd be considered late teens/early adulthood for their species.

We know how selpa feels about dib and earth, but what does he think of humans in general? And does he miss anyone from meekrob?

Your English is fantastic! And thank you so much!

Selpa pretty much feels about humans the way he feels about most aliens - he doesn't completely understand them, and doesn't feel the need to. He probably is a little concerned over the human obsession with snacks, entertainment, and using up natural resources though. Those are all very Irken, and his theory is that in a few thousand years, humans could very well start conquering planets themselves.

He likes to observe, but he doesn't like to socialize. Like a cat.

As far as Meekrob goes, he misses his friends and his family, he misses his planet, he misses his people, his culture. The Meekrob were kind of a hive mind, and all that is just gone now, which was traumatic at first, but he's adapted.

He especially misses his Life-Bringer (basically his parent). Pre-Invasion, before he took an Irken persona, he was pretty much just a teenager who made bad decisions and was a jerk to his family. He regrets that a lot, now that they're gone.

He does NOT miss his snooty arch-enemy, KarenDebra. It's said that no Meekrob survived the Invasion, but if any did, it would be them...

Sorry for the terrible sketches and rambling, I've developed a ridiculous amount of lore for this side character so I'm always happy to talk about it! 🤣

We know the real selpa had riz but, insmeeth had any friends at all?

Insmeeth had a few friends, but wasn't close to any of them - they were the loner type. The friends they did have kind of viewed them as a curiosity, like that neighborhood kid all the parents say is a bad influence but other kids are so drawn to because you never know what crazy stuff they'll do next.

Whereas the real Selpa was very popular, mostly due to his height.

Now they have to learn to make friends as one entity. 😢 Bonus sketch of OG Selpa with BFF Ris!

Ugh the more you post about selpa, the more im obssesed with him ❤️😭 i had a question tho, how would he react if he found another meekrob? Besides karendebra of course…. And has he ever done something genuenily nice for dib?

He'd be happy! I mean, as happy as he can get anyway. The Meekrob were all connected through a telepathic wavelength, so each Meekrob vaguely "knew" one another, even if they had never actually met - so he'd have a personal connection to any surviving members of the race. That said, the less Meekrob there are, the less powerful the wavelength, so even if there were a few surviving members, Selpa would have no way of knowing or getting in contact. But he would do his best to keep them from further harm, because that's pretty much the only way he knows to show that he cares about something.

Which ties in to Dib. 🤣 He'd probably say the nicest thing he's done for Dib is not slaughtering him when Dib ruined Selpa's entire mission. But like I said, his way of showing care is by protecting - so him staying on Earth with Dib when he didn't have to (Lard Nar did not order him to do so) was him being nice. Though Dib might disagree.

Plus, telling Dib his true name was a huge sign of trust, given to Dib in a time of need. Dib might not have caught onto that because he was busy stewing in self-pity, but it was a big deal for Selpa. Other than that, the nicest thing he's done for him is not mauling him. 👍

Bonus sketches, Selpa's Life Bringers were at constant odds with Karendebra over their offspring's bad behavior. And if they ever saw Selpa nowadays, they'd definitely get on his nerves even more than Dib.

Anyway, i had a question. Now that insmeeth and selpa are one, how is their relationship? Has it changed since they’ve meet? And how was the real selpa?

The real Selpa was a seasoned Elite, but tended to be pretty shy. Where some Irkens let their height go to their heads, he was more embarrassed by it than anything, because it meant he always got preferential treatment that he didn’t think he deserved. He was actually a little on the fence about the Empire and its laws, and engaged in a few physical relationships despite the practice being highly illegal.

He had a best friend named Ris who would always openly hit on him. 🤣 They trained at the Academy together, then went on to partner up on missions before Selpa became an Enforcer. They used to be extremely close until the Invasion of Meekrob...

The PAK’s coexistence with Insmeeth has always been difficult, and particularly was at the beginning – they’d struggle against each other constantly, and the new input in Insmeeth’s already-shared mind nearly drove them all crazy. Luckily, Insmeeth got a handle on the situation, but the original Selpa still holds a grudge over being murdered by what amounts to electric jellyfish.

By now, though, it’s been long enough they’ve gotten used to each other. They still struggle, but they’ve become one cohesive unit – Selpa wouldn’t like to admit it, but they’re part of one another, and their shared experience and knowledge makes him a highly effective asset.

Also, at this point, the PAK has taken more of a backseat as it gives Insmeeth the pleasure of having to deal with the train wreck that is Dr. Dib Membrane.
