I find that is it sunday once again and this week I listened to Aloha Inoha by INOHA

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(4 out of 5 stars)

Yeah, these guys seem super cool and this is a brilliant debut album. Pretty basic band instrumentation, a couple of guitars, drums, and bass but it works super well. Their vocalist does a great job on every song and everything is super memorable without feeling repetitive.

Gonna jump straight into...

Opinion time! (as always, not opinion order, just album order)

going quite deep into the album,

"Saturday Nights" had to work for me to like it yet here it stands at top 3. At first, I was afraid of another song by some young people claiming the best day of the week but this song fucks (I can say that because it is the only explicit song of this album/j). I do appreciate the reference to The Cure with the line "We all know/ Friday's for fallin' in love" because it is subtle and shows some self-awareness. Overall, I like the groove of this song. The guitar solo is sick and this song in general has great drums. The bridge is really cool with the call response structure, and I think it would be really cool to see it live. It's not a super deep song and it is just pure fun.

"Papaya Man" stuck out to me on my first listen of this album. I love it. It is unabashedly goofy and fun and I love it. The guitar melody is really good and there is a perfect level of drums. I like the bridge a lot, it is so goofy and builds tension beautifully for the last chorus.

"A Next Time" just has amazing composition. The intro is so full and tasty. I love the vocals following the guitar in the verse so much. The chorus is simple and works really well. The guitars here, man. The last verse has my heart forever. Great layering and all that stuff. Lobe this song sm.

"The Tide" This song is really simple and sweet and I love it. I love just vocals and ukulele and then the development of the guitar and drums. I love it even if this song doesn't have much of a "deep" meaning. And then the second half of the song happens and it is LOUD and FUN.

"Seventh Heaven" has probably, what I think is, the best lyricism on this album and then they pair that with awesome instrumentation and that is how you make your most popular song as an indie band. And the bridge itches my brain.

"Biggest Salmon" like papaya man is goofy and fun. I love the delivery of "But I have to Breathe/ I have to shout it out" and how the drums and guitar match the rhythm. This song is almost like Weezer in the best way possible.

overall I liked this album a lot and I wanna hear more music from these guys for sure!

These are meant to be sketches of my Naria Girls redesign for an AU thingy, as you can see, this isn't in pure swag HD quality. (I apologise if my fingers look weird)

They have casual forms too but it's only doodles.

I included Usagi/Naria Winter...? (the pseudo fourth member) as well for some reason, she's gonna be a very important character in my au.

I emphasised more of Urara/Naria Spring's flower motif and made the edges of her hair more rounder to look like petals plus flower skirt. I also turned the ponytail into somewhat of a bluebell (yeah pink bluebells actually exist). made the ribbon longer and sleeves into bulbs or strawberries.

I attempted to get inspirations from Luna Platz of the Mega Man Star Force series for the appearance of Hanabi/Naria Summer. Tried to add more star imagery but sorta failed?

For Inaho/Naria Autumn I was going for moon/crescent theming but I didn't exactly do much with it (I'm rather embarassed, I was making her more witchy T-T).

Left Usagi/Naria Winter...? as herself because of lore. She isn't exactly a real Naria unlike the trio which is the reason she has a default-ish look to her magical girl form but I'm thinking about butterfly symbolism because of her bows.

Maybe I'll do a pure swag HD quality of the image and add more lore to my epik kool Naria Girls rewrite AU.

EDIT: The REAL Naria Winter also exists but I don't exactly know where to put her in my (wacky) retelling of the story. To tell them apart I decided to call Usagi "NotWinter" and Naria Winter "REALWinter".

Being really into indie music is so fun because I'm at the point where small artists I like are getting smaller artists I like to open their shows who are getting even smaller artists that I ALSO like to open THEIR shows. It's like a cycle and it's so cool to have an absurd amount of knowledge and say to the person next to you "there's a guy named ricky in the opening band too"

Fire in the Sun

Pairing : Modern Avengers Indie band with Sam, Bucky and Steve x Neutral plus size reader

A/N: Based on Inoha’s song Fire in the Sun (end lyrics to be credited to them*). This song has me on a chokehold. I'm obsessed with this band's music. Recommend 100/10

Disclaimer : I do not own the characters, nor the lyrics at the end of this one-shot. This fiction is only for entertainment purposes.

Synopsis: Another very clichéd story of Y/N's unrequited love with their childhood friend Sam Wilson. Words cannot be expressed other than through songs but even then the message does not seem to come across.

Band's name : Quantum Pulse

Sam : lead-singer + guitar / Bucky: bassist / Steve: drummer / Y/N: lyricist + guitar

"Y/N?"

"Y/N?...Earth to Y/N?", a soft but firm voice pulls you out of your thoughts, a wave of noise engulfs your surroundings and brings you back to the present. Your eyes meet Bucky's worried expression. "You were gone for a second. Are you OK?" he asks. "Yeah, just a bit tired I guess," you nod. Your eyes scan the room and land on Sam, who is having what appears to be a passionate conversation with the singer of another band, looking her up and down hungrily. Your eyes quickly return to Bucky, who has picked up on your discomfort and change of mood. "Are you OK?" you ask Bucky and he smiles softly. "Just tired, I guess," he repeats. 

After what seems like an eternity, he comments, "You should tell him already.” You chuckle and shake your head in disagreement. "We've already had this discussion," you turn to Bucky. "Sam and I have been friends forever, it's never going to happen. He doesn't see me that way, never has." You feel the couch move to your right, Steve offers you a beer, a furtive but understanding look between the Brooklyn men. The three of you chat, going over the set list for your last gig later tonight, the distraction welcome on your side.

You are one of the co-founders of Quantum Pulse, an indie/rock band that started out as a duo: you and Sam. Friends since childhood, your shared passion for music led you both to learn guitar and publish covers online. Year after year, your feelings for Sam grew and you were faced with a serious case of unrequited love. You thought silence was the better option in such a situation, but damn was it difficult. You slowly and cowardly began to pour your feelings into lyrics that Sam would sing without knowing. 

Bucky and Steve joined your duo during college as bassist and drummer respectively, perfectly complementing your sound and aesthetic. After countless rehearsals, small town gigs and online publications, the band was noticed and contacted by Vision Corp. Seeing the potential, Vision, the producer, signed the band and the first album was recorded. With Steve's energetic drumming, Bucky's mysterious bass, Sam's charismatic energy and captivating voice, and your spot-on lyrics, your songs took off and your fan base grew exponentially, making a US tour a dream come true. A dream that slowly turned sour as you sat in the front row and witnessed Sam's talent for seducing and flirting with fans, staff... anyone who caught his interest, really. 

During the tour you got closer to Bucky and Steve, considering Sam was busy with ... other things. Despite feeling like shit and fighting your inner turmoil, the vibe between you and Sam was weird and off. Every time you'd ask him to check out the new material you'd come up with, he'd dismiss it with "I'm sure it's fine". Once you even went as far as provoking him during rehearsals by giving him nonsense lyrics to sing. "Tell me, how can you love me baby ... when I'm currently reeking," he said the line before realising what he was singing, making us all laugh. "Ha ha, very funny," he pouted unamused. "Do I have your attention now?" you asked him teasingly. "Well, if you'd stop busting my balls and being so clingy, I might give you some attention, but lately you've just been suffocating me. Cut me some slack," he replied, annoyed. Your smile immediately faded as hurt and confusion painted your face. It was the first time he'd ever spoken to you like that. "Jerk," you called him before leaving the room and ending the rehearsal. 

This happened 5 days ago and to say that your pain has faded would be a complete lie. Not only did you have to watch him hookup with everyone at every stop but now you were “suffocating him”, feeling completely crushed. 

You finished your preparations and went through the material one last time when Vision joined you. "So, final date tonight? This show has to end with a bang, I'm counting on you!" he pointed at each of you before extending his hand, Steve, Bucky and Sam following his lead. You reached your hand over Sam's and left it suspended, floating, contactless. You could feel his gaze piercing you, but refused to look at him. "QUANTUM PULSE," you all chanted. "Let's talk later," Sam murmured in your ear before walking to his mark, your eyes meeting him briefly and your heart pounding beneath your chest. 

The concert was in full swing, people singing, dancing, screaming, everyone on their A-game. We were halfway through when the moment came for you to perform "Echoes of You", the very first song you ever wrote when it was just you and Sam. It was also the first song in which you made a subtle reference to your unrequited love for him. You all take a minute to get some water when Sam's voice echoes through the loudspeakers. "Wow, what a wonderful crowd, thank you so much for coming to see and hear us". The people roar, the sound giving you goosebumps. "This next song is very special. You see, it's our first original song with Y/N, from the time before our Brooklyn boys joined us," jokes Sam. Your heart stops at the mention of your name. Adjusting his guitar, the tension in the air palpable, Sam leans forward, his eyes briefly locking with yours before turning to the crowd. "I want to dedicate this song to someone special," his voice carries into the room. 

Your breath catches in your throat, a mixture of excitement and nerves making your stomach churn. "Is there a chance?", the thought crosses your mind. "I'd like to dedicate Echoes of You to... Clint over there," he points to a guy in the crowd wearing a leather jacket. "Nice guy I met in the men's room earlier," he laughs. You let out a strangled sound, your heart sinking in disbelief, tears blinding your eyes. Sam gives the signal and the song begins. Frozen in place, the sound of your guitar falls silent for a moment. It takes everything in you to get back to the concert and join in. Concerned, Bucky and Steve keep coming back to you, noticing that you are completely shut down, on autopilot. You've always known that you and Sam would never be a couple, but any 'maybes', or 'what ifs' have now been completely flushed down the toilet. 

As soon as the concert is over, you rush off the stage and into the nearest bathroom. "What's wrong with them?" Sam asks, confused, to which Steve just shakes his head, "Are you for real right now?" and leaves him hanging. "What?" he turns to Bucky, who just shakes his head. It takes a while before you regain your composure and leave the room. "Hey Y/N, can we talk?" you hear Sam calling after you. "Not now," you reply, but he still follows you. "What's going on? Why are you avoiding me?" he confronts you, stopping you by grabbing your arm. "Look who's the clingy one now!" you mutter under your breath. 

"The fuck! If you have something to say to me, just say it". You've done everything to avoid it, but it's impossible to go on. "Why did you do that? Why did you dedicate the song to some random guy?" you whisper. "It's just a song, Y/N, come on...

"It's not just a song to me! It's our first song, the first one where I finally managed to express my love for y...", you exclaim, managing to stop yourself before finishing. "You're being a bit dramatic now," he comments with a smile. A smile that disappears when he sees your broken expression, "Y/N? 

"I'm quitting the band," you whisper, your voice cracking.  "What? Quitting the band? You can't do that?" he panics. "Look, I'm sorry, I'm being insensitive. I know how much this song means to you, but you can't leave us," he cries. "I need a break... from this, from you!" 

"Don't be stupid, don't do this," he pleads. "I'm cutting you some slack," your eyes pierce him. 

"I didn't mean it like that," he closes the distance. 

"I can't do this anymore," you say firmly. "I'll tell the others and Vision." 

You leave the room and see Sam walking around with his hands on his head, shaking it. Telling Steve and Bucky about your decision broke your heart even more. They were not happy about it, but they understood why you felt the need to quit. They promised to keep in touch and wished you well. 

1 year later

"Y/N, are you ready?" the staff member asks you, and you nod. They give you the green light and you go on stage in front of thousands of people. After a few songs, it was time to sing the song that got you on that stage, opening for Billie Eilish. 

"When I put that song online it never occurred to me that it would go viral the way it did. It was just a way for me to finally say goodbye to these feelings that I've had for a very long time.

Unknown to you, Sam was in the audience and your lyrics hit him like a train, finally realising your hidden feelings for him. Unfortunately, he also realised that it was too late to change anything.
