Oggi in molti paesi di lingua spagnola è il giorno delle "inocentadas".

Qualcosa come il nostro pesce d'aprile. Un giorno in cui si fanno scherzi di ogni tipo ricordando gli innocenti vittime della crudeltà di Erode.

A scherzo consumato, il burlone canzona il burlato con frasette di questo tipo:

¡Inocente!

¡Caíste por inocente!

¡Qué la inocencia te valga!

Tutte espressioni che sottolineano che la vittima ci è caduta in quanto credulone e... innocente.

I said I wasn't going to do anything for April Fools but I lied, I'm going to start doing only CC for female gender, but without anything for Occult ones, that is in trend, of course. With a lot of top crops exclusively for female gender repeated one with another and also hairstyles that are always using as a base the meshes of game with a simple small variation, that I can't miss and put them in permanent paywall. All my gameplays and stories will be exclusively of cishetero and cisgender sims with beige or white aesthetics, no colors, women with dresses and skirts and men with suits and all of them exclusively with very white skintone and thin, no variety. Que me meo. Yo tengo un primo que nació también el 28 de diciembre y cuando su madre se puso de parto y llamó a mi tío para decírselo él se creía que era una broma (ella era muy bromista) y no fue al hospital hasta más tarde.

El jueves es el día del amor y la amistad is translated in my book as Tuesday is St. Valentine’s Day. However, I go on Spanishdict and it translates as “the day of love and friendship” and that Valentine’s day is “el Día de San Valentín” instead.

Can you explain the differences in translations here?

It's a regional issue - El Día del Amor y la Amistad is more common in Central America as the name of the holiday

Depending on what country you're talking about, it could be San Valentín, El Día de los Enamorados (Lovers' Day), or El Día del Amor y la Amistad (Day of Love and Friendship)

In general if you saw one you'd know exactly what they were talking about, but English only has the one holiday

Essentially they celebrate the same thing [kinda] so in English we most readily understand "Valentine's Day", so it becomes more of a localization versus a direct translation

Note: Not all countries celebrate it the exact same way and Colombia celebrates it in September, more on that later

My experience - people know what you're talking about because of the media, but some have different official names

Central America (Panama, Nicaragua, etc) tends towards El Día del Amor y la Amistad - and Colombia does too for sure

South America and Rio de la Plata in particular tend towards El Día de los Enamorados

The US, Mexico, Spain, Venezuela, sometimes Puerto Rico is more San Valentín

Some countries recognize two or all of them at least according to Wikipedia like it says all are recognized in Costa Rica - no idea if that's actually true. The Caribbean in general tends to recognize and understand many different versions of things I think because of so much influence coming from every direction of the Spanish-speaking world

BIG IMPORTANT NOTE

In Colombia, El Día del Amor y la Amistad is celebrated in September, not February. This is because a group of merchants proposed moving it and it's a very long story but it's interesting; so since the late 1960s it's been in September (I think the 3rd Saturday of September?) while most of the world celebrates it in February

In many official things and things translated from English, it's often (El Día de) San Valentín especially in dubbing, but everyone kind of understands what you're talking about regardless. The words and customs are understood by pretty much everyone, but it becomes a regional quirk of "localization" in some cases

Another somewhat common example of the idea of "localization" versus "direct translation" is that in some countries there's El Día de los Santos Inocentes

In English that's usually translated as "April Fool's Day", though they're very different ideas - still in some countries una inocentada is understood as "April Fool's joke"

By far the biggest example of this - in English "Friday the 13th" is considered the unluckiest day

In Spanish, if it is actually the date Friday the 13th then it is viernes 13.

HOWEVER... if you mean a day of bad luck, like the unluckiest day, it is martes 13 "Tuesday the 13th". Out of all of the days, Spanish considers Tuesday to be THE unluckiest day and there are all kinds of superstitions about things you should never do on a Tuesday because it invites bad luck
