"Light is always within us. When the mind is settled, we see that Light. When this state is developed, we see it everywhere, even with open physical eyes. You see the dark veil, and the Light within that. In the Light you see the blue sky and the golden center shining resplendently -- in the still pose of mind; and when you try to make and use your own efforts, your mind's still pose is disturbed, and you lose it. We need not make any efforts. Our clutching will stand in the way and retard our progress. We should, however, make effortless effort. "Sit fully devoted and fully absorbed with the inner gaze fixed, losing all sense of effort -- as effort involves a taint of ego -- leaving all to the Master within." (from an unpublished book of Kirpal Singh on meditation practice)

There's this magical moment when what you've been dreaming about begins to materialize. That's no coincidence, dreamer. It's a sign you're in sync with your inner vision, your soul's blueprint. It's the universe saying, "Hey, I heard you, and here's what you asked for."

Opps!
Turns out other people are being literal an sincere when they talk about “seeing” a picture when the think of something!
And that’s an opps because - Opps! - you don’t!!
You’re not alone!
This phenomenon is called “Aphantasia,” and has some scientific study done which is nice to know you’re not crazy, your brain’s just divergent.
I like this article I just found describing Aphantasia.
For example, people who are neurotypical in this regard have specific parts of the brain “light up” when they both see an image and visualize it, which can be seen in MRI scans.
People with aphantasia only have activity in these regions when looking at something.
However, this is not a memory problem - people can still recall a celebrity’s hair color, for example, if there is a reason to make that connection.
But of you’ve never made that connection, you probably wouldn’t be able to give more than vague “light” or “dark.”
We don’t “see” images or memories in our mind - but we can still relive the experiences.”
Here’s a good quote:
I have no trouble answering some of the test questions [cognitive neuroscientist] Kosslyn ran me through, like, “Which is darker green: spinach, or the outside of an avocado?” But others were tougher. Kosslyn asked me: “In the upper-case letter ‘A’, what shape is formed by the enclosed region?” After concentrating for a few moments I replied that it was a triangle, and Kosslyn asked me how I had arrived at it. It almost felt as if I was drawing the letter, I said.
Kosslyn thinks the drawing sensation gives us a clue as to how aphantasics deal with apparently pictorial information. He suggests that to complete these tasks I am piggybacking on neurons involved in controlling physical movements rather than using the visual brain circuitry. (source linked above, emphasis added)
When I meditate, I use similar “physical” sensations to guide me.
I imagine spinning cranks, physically walking through a forest, the sensation of swimming or stretching.
When I construct the forest, it’s based a lot on the - textural synesthesia, I’ll say - of the plants around me. The velvet sensation of the greenness of ferns, the roughness of the bark.
These ground the “image” in my head, despite me not being (overly) synesthetic in normal irl.
But even that gets exhausting.
So after the set up, I slide back to the idea of a water wheel spinning in the creek, or the wind in the leaves, or a romanticized smell of the forest.
And the idealized image of me walking, or sitting warm in a clearing on grass, or shady under a tree.
It’s different than how some people “visualize.”
But it’s what works for me.

Activating the Third Eye: 7 Meditation Techniques
The third eye, also known as the ajna chakra, is an energy point located in the middle of the forehead, slightly above the space between the eyebrows. It is said to be the gateway to higher consciousness and spiritual insight. Many traditions and philosophies believe that activating the third eye can provide clarity, intuition, and a deeper understanding of oneself and the universe.
1. Trataka Meditation
Trataka, or concentrated gazing, is a yogic technique where one focuses intently on a single point, usually the flame of a candle. The aim is to train the mind to focus and to stimulate the third eye.
Steps:
Light a candle and place it at eye level.
Sit comfortably and relax your breathing.
Stare at the flame without blinking for as long as possible.
Close your eyes and focus on the afterimage in the location of your third eye.
When the image fades, open your eyes and repeat.
2. Third Eye Meditation
This meditation specifically targets the third eye chakra.
Steps:
Sit in a comfortable position with your spine straight.
Close your eyes and take deep breaths.
Visualize a luminous indigo blue sphere at the center of your forehead.
Concentrate on this visualization, allowing any thoughts to come and go.
Practice this daily for at least 15-20 minutes.
3. Breath Awareness Meditation
By simply focusing on your breath, you can activate your third eye.
Steps:
Find a quiet place and sit comfortably.
Close your eyes and focus on your natural breathing rhythm.
If your mind wanders, gently bring it back to your breath.
Gradually, shift your focus to the area between your eyebrows, imagining your breath flowing through your third eye.
4. Chanting Meditation
Mantra chanting is known to resonate with the third eye chakra.
Steps:
Sit comfortably and close your eyes.
Chant the mantra “OM” or “AUM,” focusing on the vibrations between your eyebrows.
Feel the vibrations resonating with your third eye, expanding your awareness.
Continue for at least 10 minutes daily.
5. Crystal Meditation
Crystals like amethyst and clear quartz are said to resonate with the third eye chakra.
Steps:
Lie down comfortably and place an amethyst or clear quartz on your forehead.
Focus on the energy of the crystal, visualizing an indigo light activating your third eye.
Meditate on this energy for at least 15 minutes.
6. Nature Meditation
Connecting with nature can also awaken the third eye.
Steps:
Find a peaceful natural setting.
Sit comfortably and observe the environment around you.
Focus on the sounds, colors, and sensations.
Connect these sensory experiences to your third eye, envisioning your inner sight expanding.
7. Reflective Meditation
Reflecting on your thoughts and experiences can help activate the third eye.
Steps:
Find a quiet place to sit comfortably.
Reflect on your experiences, thoughts, and insights.
Observe your thoughts without attachment, allowing them to flow freely.
Connect these reflections to your third eye, seeking deeper understanding and insights.

We can spend a lifetime looking outside of ourselves to discover who we are and never find ourselves. It is by turning inwards, to the silence and stillness, that we start to learn about ourselves.
