It's November. It's November first. Yesterday was October 31st, so October is over. ...it's over. Is it over?

Inktober, artober, whumptober, flufftober, linktober, every tag ending with -tober that's been circulating for the past month... is it over? I don't know why it's just hit me but...

This matters. So I will try to get the message across, even though I'm not the best at it sometimes

Fanartists, fan writers, artists, fic writers, people making comics, every single one of you that has created art for the past month...

This is my first October on tumblr. When I started seeing the "tober" tags, seeing the posts from artists with wips, saying they were going to make something every day to a prompt, making masterposts to update with each day, I thought "cool"

But every day this month, I have gotten on here and smiled.

And I don't mean smiled. I mean I smiled at least 20 times every time I got on the app because I saw all the art and fics. I got to see artists/writers connect stories through different day prompts. I saw people having the most brilliant ideas and creativity, flowing from their hands into their posts. I saw artists responding to continuous asks, telling them how amazing they are. I saw artists getting behind, and keeping going.

I saw Free. Beautiful. Emotional. Amazing. Original. Creative. Art.

Every day

I haven't committed to anything of this before, so I can't directly relate to what you guys were thinking and feeling. But I'm willing to guess; I think you probably enjoyed it, because most won't do such a huge project unless they enjoy it. I think you probably saw it as a challenge you were willing to fulfill, and an opportunity to grow and develop your skills.

... but I'm also willing to bet you did it for us. For people like me, who love art, but don't do this specific type, who are in fandoms, who love tracking and watching you art and sending you compliments, who take joy in your work. For the other artists (and writers!) who admire each others styles and love to learn from each other.

If anyone ever tries to tell me that humans are inherently evil again, I will strap them to a chair, pull up these posts and say look. Look at what these people did. Look me in the eyes and tell me these sorts of actions don't come from the most loving hearts. Tell me these people don't want to make others happy, that they aren't inherently good. And I will tell you you're wrong.

I have so much going on, yet somehow it slipped into my life that I was constantly looking at your art for the joy of it without me even noticing.

And how is it possible. That we have such a beautiful community of people here that we will share. And communicate. And exchange compliments. And literally do things and send asks solely for the purpose of making someone smile.

I'm almost crying by now. God I can't express it well enough! But I am so. So. Grateful

You guys brought me a month of joy! You gave headcanons, and art, and stories!

Even yesterday, Halloween, I was blown away. Because I had expected... I didn't expect anything. And then I log on and see people sending happy halloween asks, exchanging doodles of candy, and headcanons and gifs.

And some are still catching up to the schedule or whatever, and that's ok! But at the beginning of this post, when I was simply realizing it was November, I asked myself "is it over?"

Is it over?

... I don't think so. I've seen artists say they're going to continue and expand on a piece they made and especially liked this month. Some people are still continuing, catching up to a voluntary deadline. All those masterposts with your whump/fluff/link/ink tober art? I know many as well as myself will be going through, looking over your posts with smiles, catching up on some things they missed this month... it will continue in the people and artists I didn't know existed before, but now follow. In the skills and growth in creativity! In the community we've grown, and art you've made, and the art to come, at a normal rate like every other month, even if it's not October anymore!

But my artists, writers... thank you so much. I don't know if you guys know how valuable and amazing you are. How incredible it is that you exist! People say it's amazing we exist under a sky of such stars, but how incredible is it that you made a stranger on the internet smile every day! Your life is so. So. Valuable. I can't even express how grateful I am that you exist, that you somehow are selfless enough to share the most beautiful parts of yourself simply to create, and to create joy. Thank you so so much.

(And this applies to all artists, in any fandoms, not just mine. And I'm just as grateful to people who couldn't do something every day, or only one day! You still share your art, you're just as... incredible. You are incredible.)

So I'm gonna do this, and if others want to do it in the reblogs that's great! I do not care at all about reblogging or likes, but I want to make the people that have brought me such joy some appreciation- I hope I can bring you even a smidgen of the light you have brought into my life. So I'm gonna tag all the artists/writers I know of/can think of that have done any sort of October challenge, all of you creators that have made me smile. Little life/fic/project update...

I absolutely love my grad program and learning all this art therapy stuff but sometimes the spoon drawer just gets empty even when all you're eating is ice cream, you know?? Definitely hit a bit of a wall yesterday, especially with how stressful/unpredictable my internship has been. I took a mental health night (still had to intern for 5 hours and sit in an hour of traffic) and skipped class this evening... hoping that recharges me at least a little.

I fell behind with Inktober and it doesn't seem like I'm going to catch up. I have two sketches that I might ink and post but if it's between that and writing... I'm going to write.

The next chapter of "Chaos Theory" is in progress. I might finish it this week, but I'll have to see if it feels "complete" after I finish the current scene or if I want to add more. After that there is just two more chapters and the epilogue and two out of three of those I already have extremely strong drafts for!!

The one thing keep asking myself is have I answered all the questions? From watching the numbers I am guessing I have between 60-80 consistent readers (WHICH IS INSANE. And a huge honor!! so happy to share my story!!!!) and I don't want to let anyone down!! If you read CT, please let me know any outstanding questions you have in the story (like 'what's going on with x character?' or 'what's the explanation for this?' etc.). I have room to answer some things I might not have considered, but I need to know what I haven't considered!

Because I am so close to the end of CT, I haven't really touched anything else lately! Here are my rough writing goals looking toward the end of the year:

Finish posting CT before December. If I can, finish writing this month!

Finish writing CT "Rewind." I am about 60% of the way through overall and 50% through the next chapter.

Post at least one more FFVIII The Musical song by Halloween since that's when I started writing it last year.

Finish my Bingo card!

Write and post for my Yuletide exchange.

Write and post "Angelo: Search" (the next installment in the Angelo Combine series)

After that, I will probably try REALLY HARD not to start anything new (at least in the FFVIII fandom) until I finish some of my current multichapters. Update priority as I see it is:

Hey everyone and welcome to November!

I'm most of the way to getting things back to a normal pace on the back-end here. I took some time tonight to go through the tournament rounds that finished up while I was moving, and I've put together their next rounds, announced our two winners, and updated the website accordingly.

I'm probably going to have to take a few days before I can answer the asks that I've had waiting in the ask box and probably another week before I can start putting together the matches to bring more subtournaments into rotation. Unfortunately due to some circumstances outside of my control, parts of moving took much longer than I hoped, and also due to circumstances entirely within my control (Inktober), I am also still trying to organize my things in the new place. (I did finish it up though, so it won't have an impact on my schedule any longer.)

(I actually managed to get my desktop out of the moving box and to solve my missing WiFi driver problem just in time to get the polls for November 1 up.)

I’d came back for today’s program already, but also be ready for next week as I’m available for van scheduling that I’ve been waiting for. I’ll be there throughout the weekdays instead of Mondays and Fridays; at least good for my mom so she won’t get worried to drive me there everyday.

Do hope for some of my friends understand when given an update, but can a bit tricky concerning what I’m supposed to get through my Inktober artworks that are still in progressing. Just saying, though.

Stranger of Twine #14

Episode #14 Castle

Stranger of Twine was intended to be posted during Inktober, how due to my work schedule I wasn’t able to keep up so I’ve decided to update the series on my own term. I am still using the same prompts from Inktober as the episodes and the series will still end on the last prompt. Finally, I've finished my 2nd Inktober drawing. I finished this artwork in December 2023 due to my busy school schedule for the past two months.

This is part of my upcoming comic, "The Scale of A Hero", on the concept art page. In the ancient Philippines, blood compacts (sandugo) were practiced between leaders (The raja and a datu in this artwork) of different nations as a sign of brotherhood and friendship. After cutting themselves (wrists in this artwork), each party needs to put a few drops of the other's blood into their cup and drink it. Members of society accept their leaders because of the blood compact they maintain with them.

One of the highlights of my story will be the facts about Sandugo. I plan to incorporate the cultures and traditions of pre-colonial Visayas as a theme in my story. (Probably) this will be the final artwork of the year. Next year, more updates, facts, and trivia about my story will be available. Ayo-ayo ninyong tanan! (Take care everyone!)

Weekly update December 1, 2023

Today was awful. The rest of the week has been fine. The awful was because of medical stuff. I’m still having fatigue, and I have an absolute ton of homework this weekend so good chance I won’t get much done in the way of art, but finals week is coming up which should free up my schedule a good amount.

At the beginning of the week I got a bunch more late inktober drawings finished up. I still need to keep powering through the rest of the prompts but it’s fine I’m not that worried. It’ll be later this week if I can manage anything but I’ll keep trying.

TRGA has been slow due to exhaustion. I have all but one keyframe on Tim 1-4 done, and the tweens shouldn’t be too hard. I don’t want to mess with props but if I have to I have to. I was messing a bunch with computer stuff this week, and after effects is looking pretty nice for future animations, but for the one we’re on I won’t mess with it if I don’t have to.

Music: I definitely need to redo the verse melody I did last week, it doesn’t fit the song at all. Got a bridge melody done that works great though. Also got a bunch of other plugins and VSTs working so I have an idea for the next original song I could get working on (which should be instrumental so I won’t need to hold off because of vocals). I could also try my hand at covers, since they would theoretically move a lot faster. I think this upcoming week I’m going to prioritize animation above music if I can, I’ll try to just spend like one day on music for a good block of time, and the rest on those tween frames or reimporting stuff.

I’m a bit worried about computer stuff, since good chance I will have to move to a new one soon, which should be great for music plugins and after effects stuff should I chose to mess with that, but will be a pain in the neck to move my slew of clip studio brushes. I’ll try to make a nice list of all the sets I have downloaded throughout the week, in order to make the process easier on myself, but it will take a while.

Last thing, I’ve finally stopped procrastinating on that comic idea I’ve had, and have started thumbnailing a comic pitch for the O’Malley Foster Home. At the present it’s just planned to be a pitch, as I would prefer it to become an animated webseries to a webcomic, but it would still be good to get some ideas out of my head, since people seem curious about my OCs, but I don’t want to infodump unprompted, and it leads to some things getting misinterpreted (I’ve seen Mikey referred to as ‘goth’ even though he’s moreso meant to be punk, and a drawing of him got reblogged by a demon themed account today because of that drawing I did of him pretending to be a demon. I also have a mutual who I think thinks that Jack is a vampire because he has a bat motif in his design, even though he really just likes bats), so them having some public lore would hopefully clarify things. Still not sure if I will or should do a pitch for Backstage as well once that is done, but that doesn’t matter until it’s done anyway. It’s a nice smaller project to do during lecture perhaps, so it’ll be fine.

Lots of stuff this week. I am still bleeding from the doctor this morning and also tired af so I’m going right to bed after posting this, tomorrow I will do homework, and maybe look over some tutorials for after effects or music stuff while I donate plasma tomorrow.

*Update* on the Inkspired Inktober Challenge….

Hello All, I simply over-scheduled myself this past week. I guess in other words, I was overly ambitious. Lol I have family visit from out of state, so of course my full focus was on them. I haven’t given up on the art prompt challenge and will make up the dates I’ve missed. I’m truly determined to complete this challenge regardless if it spills into the next month. My goal isn’t Perfection. I only strive for Excellence!!! Which is doing my very best! 💖☺️👍

🍁College has started again!!🍁

College is a busy time for me, so here's a little update on what to expect for these next few months!! Given it'll prolly change as the months go on, but I figured y'all would like an update of some sorts.

I'll keep working on When I Was Younger, and Its not Abuse If They're Family the whole time, when I have free time. WIWY takes priority over INAITF though, as it came first, and cause I'm writing it with @inkypawprint.

During October, I'll be doing Inktober, and drawing each prompt based off of my Rottmnt X Adventure Time Au. Now, as I'm already busy busy busy during this time of year, don't count on a daily drawing. I'll prolly still be posting Inktober all the way into December lol. Depending on how everything goes, I might even write short stories to go with each drawing. I dunno tho, so don't hold me to it lol, my ADHD keeps making me bite off more than I can chew XD

As for my Au, Deja Vu, I'll try and keep up with the weekly schedule as best as I can, however if I have an assignment due, or I'm freaking stressed or exhausted, I'm gonna delay it. I'll try and update you all when a delay happens, cause I don't want you all feeling duped.

Last year during this time was REALLY REALLY hard for me, because I didn't prioritize my mental health. I purposefully ran myself into the ground (not literally tho), and I refuse to let the same thing happen again this year!!

i dont think its a secret that all my content is scheduled to come out in a certain way depending on the tier u take, even the memes have their own time to come out (mondays meme day!!)

however i will say, i really really enjoyed working on the Inktober 2023, i felt like it gave me a chance to make content that was more 'fresh' in a way, and i want to give u all that again

so, this year i will be doing that same thing on 3 occasions

during this three months all other memes will be suspended on patreon to allow this month long updating to happen, while the other tiers will continue to release as normal, and on all my other medias, all uploads will be paused until that month long updating is done

Dear RNAs,

It's been a while since I've written a newsletter. Seasons are changing so fast so here's a summary of my highlights and milestones for the past months.

Wattpad Ambs Update

In case you missed it, I'm no longer a part of the Ambassadors Program since August. After evaluating my circumstances and busy schedule, I know that I can no longer commit to being an ambassador in Wattpad. Being a part of this program taught me a lot. Here are the few things I learned from Wattpad Ambs:

Never underestimate the value of meaningful conversation for your well-being.

Be aware of what you're saying, and how it could perhaps be misinterpreted.

Take a breather if something you are reading is annoying or angering you.

Volunteers do not necessarily have the time; they have the heart!

The heart of a volunteer is never measured in size, but by the depth of the commitment to make a difference in the lives of others.

And lastly, "Be kind, always." Wattpad Ambs taught me to always look at another online user as another human behind that account. Whatever they might do or say, that account is being handled by another human who has feelings or a circumstance that we know nothing about. That's why it's important to always be kind.

I'm grateful for the work that every Wattpad Ambassador is putting out there, whether seen or unseen by the Wattpad community. You, guys, are awesome!

For those who wants to join the Ambs program, I highly recommend it only if you love to serve the Wattpad community and reading (because you'll do lots of it).

Ardor

Whenever I think of it, I still can't believe it happened. Last MIBF, Ardor was launched and I had my very first book signing. Crazy!

Ardor is an anthology of 21 short stories about love. The title means a strong, intense feeling of love. This is KPub PH's first anthology book project and I'm extremely grateful to be a part of this.

To be able to publish one of my stories is already a miracle, but to be able to have my first book signing in MIBF is even more than my wildest dreams. Publishing a book was never the goal for me. I was already content in writing stories and sharing them on my online platforms.

So I wanted to thank you, my RNAs, for reading my stories. Every support you give goes a long way already, whether it be just reading, commenting, or sharing any post I make. Thank you also for those who already got a copy for themselves. By buying one, you're also supporting 20 other writers. I hope you read theirs, too! Special shoutout to KPub PH who has been so accommodating to me, whether online or in person. I'm deeply grateful that you have chosen my story from the hundreds who submitted their manuscripts. Thank you for being an avenue for me to experience such a miracle as this.

Ficlet Fridays S04

As you may have observed, I stopped posting ficlets since July. I'm officially ending Ficlet Fridays S04. I apologize for those who were waiting for the JenJer ficlets. They are still in my drafts pero iipunin ko muna sila. The main reason why I challenged myself to post a ficlet every Friday this year is to see how far could I commit myself to post regularly.

Since I'm still a student and a person who has different other responsibilities, this challenge became my gauge as to how I can be present as a writer while juggling different roles in my life. I'm doing another writing challenge, Inspired Inktober, to help me start writing about what I really want. It just wouldn't make sense for me to continue writing S04 when there's S05 already.

No worries. My remaining ficlet drafts from S04 would see the light someday.

Ficlet Fridays S05: Inkspired Inktober

For the past months, God has been dealing with me my creative calling. He has continued to affirm that He was the one who placed that desire and dream for me to pursue creatives. One of the ways my creative calling has been manifested is through the stories I create. As a daughter of the Creator, God has given me the gift to create through words and writing. And I just know that I ought to use that gift to reflect God's character and to tell God's story well.

Having a Christian creative community also encouraged and pushed me to pursue this calling. Over time, I became more intentional in the things I write. I also began to reflect and review on the things I've wrote before. So don't be surprised if I begin to unpublish certain stories on my profile.

One of the things that I wanted to do to grow in my creativity is to join Indie Beginning's Inspired Inktober for Christian creatives. Since there are no rules about mediums, interpretations, number of prompts you follow, or how often you'll create, I'll proceed with writing ficlets.

In the ficlets you'll read for Inkspired Inktober, you may expect new characters I might introduce in the (far) future. But for me, these characters have been sitting at the corner of my mind, waiting to be introduced to the world. One day, I'll share their entire stories to the world. But for now, all I could offer are ficlets--only fragments of who they are. And I'm stoked to share them to you!

Don't worry. I might also write about familiar characters you know, depending on the prompt given.

As you journey with me this Inktober, my prayer is that you would encounter God somehow in the ficlets I write.

Thank you for being a part of my creative journey. It's a privilege and an honor for you to allow me to enter your world as you enter mine.
