I am very late on everything so let's pretend it's a week of saturdays :') A question for you:

What is the story of some of your characters scars, and how do they feel about them?

If your character doesn't have any scars, how WOULD they feel about them? Can they scar or do they have something about them that prevents scarring?

OH neat one yay

You see, I don't have anything as much as a vague mental scar map or anything, but let's try!

Espa probably has a scar on her leg where it was broken as a punishment. They don't think much about it

Kaiki can technically self regenerate but I like scars so he gets them too! There's a bit one on his chest where he was vivisected once. Twice. He feels nauseous looking at most of them at first, it takes a while to get over it.

Before being captured and getting said regeneration powers he had mostly one nasty scar on his shoulder where his ex-girlfriend shoved him on the floor.

Now some scars he does like eventually are his top surgery scars :) one day he'll get them I promise

Dimitri has a fuckton of scars everywhere. Many on its hands. But she wears gloves most of the time so few notice it

Ceres has just very few at the beggining of the story! She was pretty sheltered but was quite a reckless kid. Sensory insensitivity (is that what you call it?) led Little her to go around messing with a lot of stuff just for the input XD there were quite a few accidents. (<- Still considering that one) There's one light burn scar on her hand probably.

Aiden has a lot. More than Kaiki probably. Since he cant regenerate. There were a few on his arm! But well.

Happy STS! What is your OCs worst experience? How has it shaped them?

Happy STS! This is also from last week, but it is Saturday again so here we go!

Oof, this is hard to choose from because they all have some really terrible experiences lmao. But if I had to pick one, I would go with Matt. The worst experience of his life was the night his brother died. Him and his brother were attached at the hip. He looked up to him and loved him more than anything.

Losing him changes his whole worldview and shatters his idea of trust. On the plus side, it does lead him to meet his closest friends, so the outcome isn't all bad. It takes a lot of time for him to recover from it, though.

💖: kitty takes a lot of pride in his hair tbh. he has kinda a messy halfbun w/ shaved sides, if that makes sense? he's always got a hairtie on his wrist [do i know his hairstyle wouldn't fly in the military? yes. do i respect the military enough to change it? nope.]

😕: his biggest regret is leaving lillian alone with natalie when she was fourteen. he was nineteen. he hasn't forgiven himself since.

🍝: he actually cooks really well. between taking care of lilli for most of nine years and refusing to let the brits on his team into the kitchen, he's a great cook.. except for eggs. he cannot make scrambled eggs to save his life. simultaneously raw and burnt. it's awful

1. Sriti always feels a very strong sense of melancholy, it's basically her entire brand. The constant melancholy mixes with any other emotion that she might be feeling in the moment to create a new emotion that's entirely unique to Sriti. If that makes any sense 😓

2. Sriti doesn't have any pets unless you count the robots that he has created. She feels very maternal towards them because, technically, she is their mother. But if we're talking about animals, then no, although Sriti would love to have a cat as a pet. #catlover

3. To be honest, Sriti wouldn't ever dye her hair. She uses henna on her hair on the rare occasion she takes care of herself, so her hair would have a bit of a very dark bronze tint if the sun hits it in the correct way :3 but otherwise, Sriti is a bit averse to changing her appearance a lot aside from the prosthetic eye that she's forced to use

🩸Blood and tears (by @whumpisgoodwhumpislife): A little half-vampire is suffering too much and a human decides to take care of him and protect him (They are both my babies).

🪄Forsaken (by @inhurtandincomfort): A young wizard, condemned by a pact he made with a misterious entity in the past, is trained and used as a living weapon by a malevolent institution in a fantasy world. Ft. some loser boy mad scientist.

🧵Writemas 2024 (by @tildeathiwillwrite): A woman suffers the mysterious death (or murder?) of her husband. This is the kind of story I would love to read in a printed book and recommend to my entire family.

🦌Whumpcember 2024 (by @kabie-whump): An evil wizard has turned Santa's reindeer into humans, who now have to live with their new bodies. A series of shorts with very interesting and cute characters that I definitely need to keep reading if I could.

👥Group Whumpees (by @haro-whumps): A young man inherits his eccentric aunt's house after her death and discovers that she had enslaved and tortured six servants. It's now his job to try to restore them to a sense of humanity.

Destroyer -- Living Weapon CYOA

>You have worked with living weapons before and found the whole thing to be...eerie.

…Yeah, you're familiar. Vaguely, anyway. They're by no means a common sight. From everything you've heard, they're being phased out altogether. You assume this is due to the ridiculous upkeep cost and the abnormally high fatality rate for everyone involved.

All the ones you've encountered have been kept at a distance. Quiet and dead-eyed, with an uncanny rhythm to their minuscule movements. You hadn't known about the fatality rate at the time, but even then you could understand why the staff had been uneasy around them. Living things are unpredictable. A lot of faith was placed in the handlers to keep the operation running smoothly, and to ensure everyone's safety. It certainly took more trust than you ever would have knowingly surrendered.

And now that responsibility falls to you.

Well, at least you don't have to figure it all out yourself. You've been given some rough guidelines on how the thing can be controlled, what it needs to stay functional, and what precautions are necessary while it's onboard. When not in use, it's to be kept in a proofed cell. You…don't have that, exactly. There simply wasn't enough time to engineer it, and the prince certainly hadn't offered to pay for the construction. You take that latter point as indication that it must not be that important. You hope you're right!

Espada

Espa is my favorite part. Shes just. !!! So fun and easy to draw. And to write. And she has the juiciest backstory ever.

I also like Sabreee and Guy. And Sethie. And Juste. Well okay I like all of them. But Espa is just the Best.

I also like it that it's living weapon whump because I Adore living weapon whump and also that I'm managing to actually write it!

Meine

I don't know, not sure. Maybe that it has a pretty cool cast! Different backstories and some neat character dynamics and everybody has a cool superpower. And the plot is a bit confusing to me even lmao but I love it that they get captured multiple times. Yay

Anima Saga

My favorite part its that its just pure fun!! Like so enormously fun. The very worldbuilding caters to my plot preferences and I get to put any culture for any character I want and also make shit up because it's fantasy. I know this applies to a lof of others because they are mostly fantasy and I always make things do for fun but anima??? Deserves a shoutout. Just anythingggg I want

I always abbreviate this one....because the title is so silly... but it's "little red riding hood cyberpunk". It is not exactly little red riding hood nor cyberpunk tho.

My favorite part is the worldbuilding! At some point I made up a lot of factions because I knew I wanted it to be a "dystopian society is at the verge of a revolution" kind of story so I thought itd be fun if there were different groups who wanted different sorts of revolutions. I got quite a fun aesthetic tho so I like that. It's in a document I don't touch much lately (leaving this wip and a few others in the back shelf) so i dont remember every detail

Across Time and Odds

The title....

No, fr tho, I'm Terrible with titles (case in point: "[main character name], [main character name], LRRHC") so this one is Nice and. I love it.

ALSO Dan. The mc. He is very fucked in the head and has a perfectionist complex and his gender makes some quite complicated situations to his dismay so it's fun to torture him with it.

I'm honestly not sure. This one is just a dear. I have guarded it for later bc tbh I don't think I can make it justice with my level of experience. Maybe Kaiki and his backstory. Maybe Kaiki's design? Maybe Arielle in general. Maybe the worldbuilding. ...probably not the title

"The 9 gates of hell" which is an okay title! I like it. My favorite part is definitely, 100% sure, the magic system. I LOVE the magic system on this one.

The premise! I Do like the title too lmao. It's pretty cool.

This is less of a wip and more of a fun project with my friend. We were talking about bad sports (we don't like sports in general but are totally not biased, trust me) and how say, rugby is so bad it wouldn't even have an anime, which somehow turned into making a rugby anime, which we decided to make yaoi because sports anime duh, but then we thought it'd be SO cool to make it yuri instead, and then we quit rugby because we don't like rugby and chose fencing instead.

My favorite part is that since it is an Anime (or a manga...? Visual novel...? I don't know how we might do this but thats irrelevant for now) we get to play with a lot of anime archetypes and conventions and elements which isn't something I always have the opportunity to do

We have japanese names! I like naming japanese characters because I get to learn how to write them. The protagonists name, for example, is Yayoi, written as ���宵 (night + evening) and her love interest rival is Hakui (白衣, white + clothing/coat). It was fun to decide

Totally not yayoi, similar to 'yayoi' as a callback to yuri on ice, a yaoi anime with an mc called 'yuri'

And character archetypes!!! We have a rich kid, a delinquent, an inexpressive girl, even a nerd sidekick! Its lots of fun

Fun Line Tag

Premise: post a fun line/snippet without any context!

When Mathew was younger, his father tried to take him on a hunting trip. He cried, begging his father to stop after they started preparing the meat for dinner. Mr. Ryan’s cold, calculated hands didn’t hesitate for even a second, working while he told his son that the animal was already dead. It needed to be split open, or else they had wasted their time. Mathew wished he had never learned that the inside of deer and men splashed out in the same shade of red.

This is a snippet from my story, Smiling Jack, a thriller about a serial killer, the only man he ever left alive, the detective on his case, and the unlikely relationship that forms between all three of them
