She seems...normal. More normal than some of the people she's seen have seemed, at least -- and it would appear their eyes are both caught on the same accessory in the mall's jewelry kiosk (or, maybe her companion's just looking near it).
Nino, for one, has her eyes locked onto a clover-pendant bracelet, with empty "holders" for additional charms: it makes her heart hurt, a little, to look at. It's like Yotsuba. It's a perfect echo of her, in fact, the gentle green and the clover matching her younger sister's name...buying it would be frivolous, but it still tempts her.
"You're not buying that one, are you?"
Her tone is sharp, biting; if one didn't know better, they'd assume she was speaking derisively of the bracelet she points at with one fine-trimmed nail. No, rather, the tone is a protectiveness. A claim, even, or at least a small hope of one.

she was feeling everything but calm. the sights around her were unfamiliar and while she was used to it as the grail often granted her the knowledge she required, she had no knowledge this time. No other servants (that she could sense), nor was her master anywhere to be found.
' this blows ass. '
an exasperated sigh as she spoke aloud. she wasn't just lost in the city, but she was also lost in just what she should be doing. she has a phone and what looks to be an address, but in the moment all she wanted to do was punch something until it was unrecognizable.

@inheirit asked: is that a gun in your pocket? because that’s not really safe, you should get a holster.
"I've got a holster." She pats the one on her belt. "But this is a specialized pocket, see? So that way, I can just —"
She draws her BB gun from a canvas-lined coat pocket.
"— do this."
Then she puts it back, plain and simple. She doesn't want to act threatening, she just wants to show off.

Hikaru knows there's no one there to use her rarely-used spell so, she practiced aiming on it as she did it upwards where no one gets hurt of its power, asides from limited use of five, now four. The glove she wore was the main source of her magic, after all.
Her eyes tilted to a girl with a red sweater in the middle of the incantation that she had to stop immediately.
"I, uh just trying to test my magic. Yeah, magic..." Awkward situation aside, well she's just trying it. "I didn't hurt anyone and you, right?"
Least Ruby Lightning was indeed her strongest spell, unfair aside with her friends with three spells and four.

“Where is it?”
This is what she got for trusting public libraries. She ought to have learned her lesson by now. How could she have lost something so important?
Cheryl had thought that, simply from a distance, that there wasn’t anything too strange about the large library before her. She wasn't particularly fond of studying in school, but how could she not have picked up reading as a hobby with an author for a father? So, she entered, still a bit overwhelmed by the aesthetics of the place.
It wasn't long until she found herself a familiar book, a collection of short stories, and set her things down to read. In her bag was the notebook her father had left her, and eventually she began to flip through it as well. She had the words memorized by now, but that didn't matter. Cheryl went between the book and her own notebook, unsure of how much time had passed. When she was finished with the former, Cheryl went to return it. Not doing so would be rude, and she had no desire to annoy just whoever owned this place.
Yet, when Cheryl returned, she was surprised to see her father's notebook missing. Panic immediately set in, and Cheryl began to scramble to look for it. Where did it go? Who took it? She’d asked the people nearby, she’d asked an employee stocking the shelves, and she’d even asked someone at a large desk near the entrance– no one was much help, and that only frustrated her. Cheryl took to searching through the shelves and tables as best she could, but with so much space to cover it was a difficult task. Desperate, Cheryl cared little for politeness or decorum, and suddenly reached out to grab the elbow of the first person to happen to get close enough. A girl around her own age, with dark hair– that certainly had to be coincidental, right?
“Hey!”
“Have you seen a notebook anyhwhere?! I have to find it!”

ʚїɞ - It was rare that she was able to talk to a mage from another world. Fern had always assumed that there must have been quite a few in the city, but since there weren't a lot of opportunities to show off magic it could be a little hard to track them down. This meeting had only arisen because Fern had been practicing her weakened Zoltraak in a public park.
"Magic that consumes gemstones? That doesn't sound particularly cost effective. Or... You referred to it as "magecraft"? Does this "magecraft" also make use of mana?"

"Now Now. Attempting to pick pocket a young woman like that in board day light isn't very nice."
Holmes caught the child who just stealthy took a pouch that don't belong from him as Holmes who taking a stroll nearby snatch the pouch before the boy realize he here.
The boy ran as Holmes make a small wave to motion his location
"There Madam be more careful. Just because the normal folks don't have super powers don't mean they're not as cunning and capable of trickery."

"aaah... I thought maybe it had slipped out there". A tad dramatic was the sigh that spilled from the Saber's mouth, the only comfort was she hadn't been so careless as to lose something special entrusted. Once she'd turned the sofa right, she perched herself on the arm nearest the window, gazing out to the brilliant blue sky where only dustings of white peppered the expanse.
"You and Sakura... are sisters... right? It must hurt... you don't need a random call because of a careless accident. You're always so strong, but if there's anything I can do, don't hold yourself back from saying".

her first order of business was to survey her surroundings. despite the instructions the servant had received upon waking up by that large hole, it was not enough. she needed more information, to try and figure out what the purpose was for this summoning. clearly this was no Lostbelt and no Singularity, nor was it the Storm Border. had she her trusted steed, traversing the streets would be far faster but as it stood, walking was the only way to go. and like any modern city, the sidewalks were filled with people coming and going.
someone running into her was bound to happen. and her reaction takes only seconds.
her grip is gentle as fingers curl around the young woman's arms, Artoria shifting her weight to be something of an anchor for the other to hold onto as their footing took time to readjust. " Are you alright?" eyes give a once over, checking for any sudden injuries but spotting nothing of the sort. " You should be careful. Ice is as dangerous as the cold during the winter."

It seemed classical literature could take many forms. While he'd seen different languages - not just human, but across alien languages as well - the texts in the Xalphina Library were foreign even to him. Still, he's fascinated. Fantasy stories, historical texts...A blend of the two.
And silence. A lack of needing to act a certain way. He could wile away his days here, no practice or schedules or anything else.
He gathered books as he walked, having left them on a small desk in a dimly lit corner as he went to collect more. Returning with a new stack, he saw a girl around his age at the small desk.
"I'm reading those right now." He announced, putting the newly found books near the others. Not having anticipated others being around, he hoped she may leave quickly.
Or, she needed one of the texts, and would try and take it. He idly wondered which it may be.

if anyone were to ask Illya, nothing of this surprises her. she had front-row seat into this sort of behavior before, and there’s almost something close to comforting that despite their different experiences, this has not changed. after all, nice surprise aside: Rin is rather clumsy, isn’t she?
“Rin, it’s unladylike to eat all those sweets in one go.” hook, line, and sinker.

"In this place, talking to yourself is as loud as a cannon in the valley." she wasn't eavesdropping, far from it. Hel has a habit of tuning out every single noise when reading, leaving behind reality to indulge in some of the many fantasies others write about. the library in xalphina had fast become something of a space for Hel-- even if some of the texts were beyond even their understanding, others were not.
few ventured deep enough into the small corner that they claimed as their own, but on this evening, it seems one curious human had. the book held carefully in one hand snaps shut as eyes focus on the young woman from beneath her perch.
" Taking notes would be easier, no?"

⠀⠀⠀⠀"You are quite a frequent customer for this establishment, young mage." He is already aware of her talent as a mage— even her former status as a Master. A prestigious family line, from what he's gathered... but not a family he would ever have had any familiarity with in his time. All the same, she carries herself with a nobility he can recognize at a glance... Albeit, there is plenty of— youthful energy under the surface, for lack of a better (and more respectful) term. Such an example is made plain with her reason for coming here so often— and it wasn't simply for the food and drink.
⠀⠀⠀⠀"Do you not live with the young man in the kitchen? Surely it isn't necessary for you to come here to experience what he makes. Hmhm, isn't your patronage a bit overly generous?"

⠀⠀⠀⠀"Really... You simply think that is all it will take?" It seems the Rin girl is trying to entice the local creatures with some food. But, as expected of a girl with that unlucky face, lucky just doesn't seem to be on her side. Meanwhile, the King of Heroes has caught the attention of quite an exotic bird— shimmering green feathers with hints of blue, the talons comfortably gripping his forearm. Even the bird appears to be giving the mage a tilted look of disappointment.
⠀⠀⠀⠀"Truly, I must admit— you bear a cursed visage. It must be unfortunate... but the persistence is appreciated— admirable, even."

The courtyard of Charles Patricius offered a soothing view of Archimedes' residential district with the soundtrack of the fountain trickling — though that splendid view be not where her attention was directed. Come each eclipse at the break of a new month, it had become routine to scour through the contact list and spectate any change ever since her sister's infamous departure. Names familiar devoid of a face to attach were recognised as absent, others susceptible to the twilight capture and swift return. her stomach churned at the class Avenger reduced to a solitary Servant — no doubt a cruel decision only to further Ritsuka'd distress. And an omen.
Once the position where Sakura's name should have been passed without sign, a degree of disheartenment softened her expression. And so natural had it been for his to follow shortly after that the knight found herself pausing in question at having glazed over it. Perhaps she had blinked? However her scroll was not nearly so hasty. So a thumb pulled back earlier names, crossing his typical space.
And he was nowhere to be seen.
Under a furrowed brow, the pace quickened to near blinding — there were the possibility that, for some reason, he was registered in a different fashion, paying no heed to those which pass as little more than a blur. And upon reaching where his surname would fit alphabetically... nothing.
Then the magnifying glass icon. No sooner had the blinking cursor taken the screen than characters were punched in, purging the results until one remained.
SEARCH: SHIR Fuyu Ushirono
And it was not him.
The shock of it practically ceased her heart, breath sucked inward where it held. The scene beneath Chaldeas' otherworldly design haunted her thoughts, Kiritsugu's shadow stretching to meet her with the harsh judgement she faced. When she hesitated, he warned both would be simultaneously doomed, and her hand should be forced.
Was this... her answer? An answer the Stars enforced?
"̷̺̑Ẏ̴̖̾ͅo̶͙͙͂̍u̴̲̩͋ ̶̼̿w̵͉̒̕é̷̝r̷̟̀̊ẽ̴̙̳ ̶͔̂ͅs̷͙̝̽u̴͎̝͌ṕ̸̣̹p̵̺̍o̵̗̦̿͛s̵͖̲̔́e̴̘̫̋d̴̬̾͋ ̴̫̿̕t̷̡̤̏ǫ̶̬̕ ̴̮̝͌̾p̷̻͈͌ŕ̶̥͐ö̶̙̘t̵̢̬̐͛ė̶̤̙̈c̶̥̺̕t̵̢͇̾͠ ̸͈̜͂͒S̶̊̄͜e̵̞̙̐ņ̴̪̍̀p̶̱̜̔͐a̵̹͐̈́i̵͈͗"̴̠̌.̷̩͒
Action took upon another name to pinpoint, leaving no chance to ponder if best to disturb the other, when she would be the one with the physical trace of loss. Despite the systems long established, the natural latch of hope clung as long it could until the facts would succeed in shaking it loose.
CALLING — RIN TOHSAKA [ @inheirit ]
Each tone sang brief yet extraordinarily stretched, and so frantic had her thoughts become that once they cease, the Servant had to make a conscious effort not to rush. Rin was the one who faced this; the emptiness, the additional loss scheuled alongside her sister's.
"Rin—..." The pause lasted a single breathe in brace and yet that felt an eternity alone. "Shirou... he is truly gone?"

"are you really going to buy all of these?" not like he is super interested in jewels, more shocked that one person would need THAT many. it must be for something important or at least that's the conclusion he is drawing to.
