She seems...normal. More normal than some of the people she's seen have seemed, at least -- and it would appear their eyes are both caught on the same accessory in the mall's jewelry kiosk (or, maybe her companion's just looking near it).

Nino, for one, has her eyes locked onto a clover-pendant bracelet, with empty "holders" for additional charms: it makes her heart hurt, a little, to look at. It's like Yotsuba. It's a perfect echo of her, in fact, the gentle green and the clover matching her younger sister's name...buying it would be frivolous, but it still tempts her.

"You're not buying that one, are you?"

Her tone is sharp, biting; if one didn't know better, they'd assume she was speaking derisively of the bracelet she points at with one fine-trimmed nail. No, rather, the tone is a protectiveness. A claim, even, or at least a small hope of one.

"I've got a holster." She pats the one on her belt. "But this is a specialized pocket, see? So that way, I can just —"

She draws her BB gun from a canvas-lined coat pocket.

"— do this."

Then she puts it back, plain and simple. She doesn't want to act threatening, she just wants to show off.

"are you really going to buy all of these?" not like he is super interested in jewels, more shocked that one person would need THAT many. it must be for something important or at least that's the conclusion he is drawing to.

mages tended to have some sort of rivalry with each other, aoko could say she was happy she didn't (if you excluded her older sister). even living with alice, she never felt any sort of jealously towards them. so bumping into another magus and one from a prominent family, she feels as though she needs to crawl into a hole.

introductions were easy enough, but she hadn't even muttered her name out. it was an already awkward conversation, this is almost like meeting a celebrity. hopefully aoko could sway the conversation and just talk about something casual, like shopping or food.

man...this is so overwhelming.

"you are indeed tohsaka rin...but you are not the one from moon cell. how interesting, i suppose doppelgangers of masters exist as well," such a curious thing. nero was more aware of servants having different variants of themselves then servants do.

the confusion on the girls face is proof enough, this one doesn't know nero. "forgive me i did not mean to startle you, your appearance just reminded me of a former ally of mine."

boy, he can feel the ire on this one. gran is starting to regret going up to her, already feeling the stress of how this interaction will go. she almost reminds him of vira when she first joined the grandcypher, cold and kept to herself most of the time.

maybe he should just run away and forget this ever happened.

"please forgive me...it wasn't my intention to upset you." clearly it was for a project, though he assumes the way his question came out sounded pretty bad. maybe it was time to work on the way he speaks to other people.

⠀⠀⠀TO⠀the average onlooker, this probably does look a little excessive. It was only your typical cheap-o costume jewelry, after all, and there was no sale going on. What the untrained eye didn't realize, however, is that someone must've made a huge mistake — because a little sifting through the bulk revealed quite a few genuine articles in the mix. It's like Christmas in April ! And so, naturally, she's carrying so many that her arms are draped in all sorts of gaudy-looking pieces — but like hell was she about to share that juicy little info.

⠀⠀⠀❛ ⠀Not that it's any of your business what a woman does with her money,⠀ ❜⠀ She retorts with a huff that stirs the hair from her forehead, ❛ ⠀but it's for a... project I'm working on.⠀ ❜ His business or not, she also doesn't benefit from a stranger thinking she's seriously about to wear all of this.

Ah, crap. Now she's gotta think of a reason...well, the obvious reason would be to settle for teeth and cruelty, right? That's usually what she's good at, too -- sinking in and snarling, puffing herself up like she isn't some pursedog. (Spoiled, pampered pursedog Nino, going at someone's ankles again!)

"You're too fancy for it."

Not cruelty, exactly, but some kind of a dig nonetheless, with a shovel and a hole dug beneath her own damn feet, actually. It's not exactly a lie...this girl seems above department store charm bracelets in a way Nino can't put to words (for as much money as she came from herself, department stores had become her dearest friend).

"You don't seem the charm bracelet type, either, y'know. More like a... multi-hundred thousand yen bangle buyer kind of girl."

Her arms cross as she tilts her head. Maybe the girl's a model or an actress or something, it'd explain how she carries herself...for starters... But if she is, she's someone Nino doesn't recognize.

⠀⠀⠀WINDOW ⠀shopping was a guilty pleasure of hers. Of course, with the winter season upon them, her mind occasionally mulled over what would make good gifts for whom — but for the most part, it's a fairly mind-numbing activity to keep up with the trends. A fairly common component of shopping is that other people are also shopping ( something online shopping will never be able to compete with ), so Rin didn't think twice about the young woman to her right.

⠀⠀⠀Until she said that, at least.

 ⠀⠀⠀❛ ⠀— And why shouldn't I ?⠀ ❜ ⠀Came her immediate retort, haughty with furrowed brows. All she hears is an incongruent bite, and the mage has no problem snapping in return. She wasn't even that interested in any one object before, but now the situation has changed.⠀⠀❛ ⠀I'm good for it, you know.⠀ ❜ ⠀

"This part's canvas." She moves the gun aside so the girl can get a better look at the pocket. "That way, it can slide in and out without any issues. It's better for the draw."

"Wasn't always a toy gun, no. I had actual pistols and rifles before. I'm hoping I get some new ones soon, but until then... I guess I'll have to aim real well."

⠀⠀⠀❛ ⠀Oh, I see. Is it the material inside, or some sort of mechanism ? Either way, it's effective.⠀ ❜ ⠀⠀RIN ⠀nods along with a hum of approval, watching the quick-draw with relative interest. Of course, it's much easier for a mage like her that needs no gun safety — but beggars can't be choosers.
