Hc that Miriel was lowkey the boss when she was still alive.
Like, whenever the kings of the vanyar, noldor, and teleri would meet up to discuss things, what she said goes.
Just:
Olwe: *proposes smth lowkey stupid as a joke*
Miriel: *raises eyebrow*
Olwe: mighty sorry there, ma’m 😰
——————————————-
Finwe: -that sounds like an interesting proposal-
Miriel: which we will not be doing
Finwe: which we will not be doing
Olwe: *cough* whipped
Finwe: olwe, she gave you a look and you grounded yourself
———————————————
Ingwe: *proposes smth sensible*
Miriel: *nod of approval*
Finwe: *grumbling* teachers pet
Ingwe: nepotism, bitch

about the ficlet! could I request something with finrod/celegorm? anything would be fab (headcanons included, though something from abo would make my day). thank you!
XD oh the chapter I was working on when I asked for procrastination was the ABO hell fic! And Finrod and Celegorm to boot.
Would you settle for some ABO headcanoning? :D to make up for my lateness in answering and also no ficlet
ABO Elves for Tower Fallen are a totally separate verse and totally distinct set of elves from my other writing. So. The ABO Elves are far more in the xeno corner of elfdom. Men, while able to copulate and produce children with, are very strange to the vast majority of them. They aren’t ABO in this verse. Men are a strange combination of childish features (their genitals)  with animal features (their body hair), with overtones of definite prey to most Elves. They are weird.  Like would-not-fuck weird. Those elves that do partner with Men are seen as …. unusual.
Celegorm finds them actually disgusting. Finrod does not. This will… be interesting when I write it.
Meanwhile Maiar and Valar are imitating without actually being. They manage pheromones or something close to it, perhaps more power than actual pheromones, and the dominance and submission displays but its all very much a play for them. Something to act out to keep the Elves happy. They dont rutt or go into heat or actually respond to any of the signs instinctively. For them they are reading queues from a script without emotion.
Manwe of course fashioned himself as strongly alpha, the strongest alpha in fact because the alphas he has to deal with are largely Vanyar. Between the three or so peoples there are differences in culture for Alphas, Omegas, Nulls, an even Betas. Differences in how territory is kept and how it is claimed, how heats and rutts are handled, how nulls “gentle”. Alpha culture for the Minyar is less occasional fights over territory and keeping to your mate and your kids, like you find with the Noldor and Teleri, and more kill those who are your greatest threats. Then rape the mates and viable grown children of those weaker than you even if their mates are infertile to you to establish dominance.
Ingwe did this. Ingwe did this in Cuivienen before Aman so he got away with it… only he did it after he came back from being an ambassador, vastly stronger than any other Minyar alpha. The result of this is that he has a great many offspring and descendants though he doesn’t recognize many of them. Nerdanel’s sire is one of these, making the Feanorions the great-grandchildren of Ingwe (And thus inclined to be unimpressed when people speak of their cousins as the great nephews and nieces of Ingwe because its not only not uncommon to be descended from Ingwe himself but if you are its usually because of a shameful and very much not talked about part of their past.)
Manwe has had to be the strongest bastard in the room to kill this culture, and it has largely faded away from Vanyar alpha society… at least when it comes to territory. Vanyar alpha are still notorious for …. not really investing in courting.
Good luck Manwe, work hard.
(In fact Finrod’s paternal grandmother, which in this case is actually Earwen’s mother, is also a child of this so he is also a great-grandchild of Ingwe and is never going to admit it.)
(They could bond over what a absolute terrifying and horrific man Ingwe is, but Finrod’s family considers it a black mark of horror and shame to be never spoken of, while Celegorm’s family made off colour jokes about it over the dinner table sometimes because sometimes your inherited trauma manifests as really black humor.)
(Ingwe’s efforts actually tie even more things together but I’m still writing that out and seeing if it works. If not I have to scrap 8000 words of backstory [sob])
Finally both Miriel Therinde and Celegorm aren’t “silver haired” as such, they have amelanism (I am hesitating to say albinism before I’m done with the background reading) resulting in very fair skin and hair. They both have partial hearing, Celegorm more severe than Miriel, and both were “blessed” by Valar that favoured them in ways that allowed them to bypass the limitations that living in a hearing society placed on them for not being able to hear as well.
