Tumblr media
for @crackimagines because the video of kasumi doing chika’ s dance is something I didn’t know I needed. I’m still working on that other thing but shh
gender neutral reader
You liked to leisure. From sitting down to read a good book or to just finding somewhere comfy to relax.
Even with your transfer to the Blue Lions house, where it was really work, work, work, and more work, you still kept at your own leisurely pace. The only exceptions were of course being bored out of your mind and wanting something fun to do or to go eat some food if you were hungry.
Like right now, with your hands currently resting behind your head, your eyes closed, laying against a tree on a sturdy enough branch that was high enough for you to remain hidden from sight.
“There you are! I’ve been looking all over for you!” At hearing Ingrid’s exclamations, a part of you wanted to pat her on the back at finding one of your many hiding places hangouts. The other inwardly groans.
You jump down from your spot, definitely not almost falling out from her startling you. Certainly not. Also making sure to bend your knees, you’d rather not have to deal with any broken bones.
“Hello there Ingrid? What do you need?” You ask with an easygoing smile. But seeing the way she crosses her arms you raise an eyebrow.
“Did something happen? …was it Sylvain getting caught with the Blacksmith’s kid again?”
The icy look she sends your way makes you raise your hands up in self defense.
“...Just trying to lighten up the mood.” Sheesh, tough crowd.
Although when Ingrid raises a hand to rub at her temple with a quiet sigh, you’re surprised to hear that you weren’t that far off the mark.
“Well I wasn’t here to talk to you about that-” And you blink from the surprise of being correct. But still, the surprise was there regardless.
“Anyway,” Ingrid clears her throat, “The Professor wanted me to find you. The representatives for the White Heron Cup are having a practice today.”
And your distaste for the even must be obvious because even Ingrid looks off put due to the shift from her usual calm expression. Your nose crinkles.
“Really?”
She nods, “Yes really. Now come on.”
“Hm, no thanks,” You say with a shrug. And she either looks like she’s going to drag you there herself, or just stomp her foot. Although knowing Ingrid, it most definitely would have been the first option.
She gives you a questioning glance.
“I’m sure the Professor can find more skilled, and willing, volunteers for this you know. So I’m gonna skip out on that.”
Ingrid looks ready to sigh again. “It’s in less then a week.”
You shrug, “Still ample enough time to find somebody, with all the recruiting they’ve been doing.” That and a petty part of yourself had wanted to see it, with how the professor had been ignoring your protests. You were no dancer, much less a skilled one.
“No offense, but coming from a merchant family, I never really was one for the social game, especially with dances.” And stuffy nobles, you wanted to add, but stopped yourself from doing so.
“If it’s the steps that give you trouble, I can help you?” Ingrid says but it comes out more like a question, and you once again find yourself raising an eyebrow.
But better to jump at the chance then allow yourself to humiliate yourself in front of the other participants because you were shit at dancing.
Instead of questioning it, you quickly take her hands into your own, a wide smile on your face. “Yes please, any and all help is fine by me.”
You don't notice the way her face flushes when you grab her hands, instead focusing on finding a way to not make an ass of yourself in less than a week. Of course she could dance too, as most nobility would have their own gatherings for potential prospects and what not. So learning how to was probably a given.
“Well, but...but, the blacksmith-”
You resist rolling your eyes, but only barely so, “Sylvain is a big boy, if he can get into the situation he can get himself out of it. Besides if anything, he’ll probably rope Felix into helping him out. Don’t you worry.”
And instead of being dragged to a practice, you’re instead tugging Ingrid along to the dining hall for some lunch to discuss the next course of action. All the while missing how Ingrid isn't making direct eye contact with you. Sputtering and stammering as you send warm smiles her way. Thanking her for the assistance.
---
It happens when you win the White Heron Cup. You have a bouquet of flowers pushed into your arms by an excitable Alois as soon as he announced the winning house.
You look over to where your classmates are standing, and you make eye contact with her, sending Ingrid your silent thanks for her assistance. And she smiles, one that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy. Practically alarming you to the point where even Felix looks vaguely concerned, in his own, angry Felix way.
Now you can’t help but think back to when she had helped you. Although the help really consisted of tips she could remember back when she had learned back when she was younger. As she had confided that dancing wasn’t exactly something she was fond of either.
But still, they were helpful nonetheless. You had assumed it was because of the warm and semi-decent weather that had been brought to the monastery, that she was suddenly so bright red.
Not because, well the two of you had been in close proximity at your insistence to want to learn in the more realistic way than just dancing with thin air.
But when you smile back and see her look away, just the hint of a blush dusting her cheeks, the warm feeling returns although this time, you’re much more receptive to it, and not alarmed.
And now you were once again tugging Ingrid along, flowers in your other hand as you two headed back to the dining hall, for some lunch to thank her for the assist. This time however, the two of you talking much more easily, and the laughter coming from the two of you was something the cooks would tease you about in the future

I have loved going through your headcanons. Could I request BL girls realizing their going to be mom or how they would tell their s/o?
realising that they’re going to be a mother
fire emblem three houses: blue lions girls
Tumblr media
i haven’t written anything for just the girls!! i’m excited lmao
Tumblr media
MERCEDES
confident that you’ll be happy too!! literally shouts for joy the second she finds out & scares anyone nearby
runs straight to wherever you may be with no regard as to who’s around
you could be in some important meeting with the church, discussing which traitor you’re going to execute next, when she bursts in, sunshine and rainbows, yelling at the top of her lungs
gives you the tightest hug you’ve ever had & kisses you like there’s no tomorrow, and then proceeds to hug anyone else who happens to be nearby
ANNETTE
she knows that you’ll be happy, and she knows that she’s happy… but she can’t help but think that this is where your relationship starts going downhill
you’ll find her on the verge of tears in the infirmary, staring out of the window with shaky hands and constantly tapping feet
she’ll jump if you sit next to her but she leans into your touch anyway, quietly telling you what it’s all about
if you react positively, she starts yelling and talking really loudly about how excited she is, and soon enough she’s got everyone around her in a positive mood too
INGRID
she knows you’ll be happy so she proudly matches up to you & tells you straight up
she then realises that she probably should’ve told you that in private, because now sylvain is all over her and felix- wait, is felix actually smiling?!
anyway, she’s bright red and she’s scratching the back of her head awkwardly. please comfort her by making a huge fuss & embarrassing yourself too
is genuinely thrilled that this has happened because she hadn’t actually ever imagined this for herself after everything that happened

Fe3h Girls Relationship Headcanons pt. 1
So this is a request that I received to do relationship headcanons for the Three Houses girls! I’m dividing this up by houses so it’s not a wall of text. Since Blue Lions is my favorite, I’ll do them first <3
If you want to support me then here’s this: https://ko-fi.com/jinxitty
PART 2 :: PART 3
Mercedes
Mercedes is definitely very motherly in this relationship.
She’ll be making sure you’ve eaten. Have you drank enough water? Don’t forget to stretch now and then so you aren’t sore.
Of course she won’t be overbearing when she checks up on you, she just wants to make sure her loved one is healthy and doing okay.
Mercedes is also ready to help out wherever she’s needed. If you need help with anything then just call her and she’ll be happy to lend you a hand.
Mercedes is a religious person so she would ask you a couple times if you’d like to join her in the temple. You don’t have to pray with her, but she’d appreciate the company.
While Mercedes is a sweetheart, you might have to keep a bit of a closer eye on her to make sure she doesn’t trip or lose something. If she does then she’ll tell you not to worry about it but she’ll end up fretting about things so you might as well lend a hand.
Ingrid
Ingrid is all about studies and training because she wants to be a knight. Because of this she’ll make sure you are also doing your own studies and training as well. If you ever need help with either then she’s more than happy to lend a hand.
Ingrid probably doesn’t ask for a help too much in the relationship because she wants to be able to not have to rely on others too much. If things get to be a bit much then she will ask but most of the time you might have to take initiative so she doesn’t struggle a lot.
Ingrid doesn’t take too much time for her appearance so when she does, give her lots of compliments. She’s rather self conscious when she does doll up so praising her will definitely help her out and make her feel very happy.
Be ready to visit her ex-fiancé’s grave. He had held a special place in her heart in the past but you’re special to her now. You can’t physically meet him but you can visit his grave with her.
Ingrid honestly doesn’t appreciate jealousy in a relationship, it feels like a sign of distrust. Rather it’s on her side or yours. She gets marriage proposals, she talks about her ex-fiancé, please don’t be jealous about these things because she loves you and only you. Likewise, don’t try to make her jealous to get back at her.
While Ingrid does like to do her fair share of studying and training, she will also love to just have quiet little dates of being in the library and reading together. Or even reading to each other.
Annette
Annette is super cheerful so be prepped to have her dish out many compliments and praise for you because she wants you to have a good day. She won’t say it, but she’d very much appreciate compliments back.
Okay but she’s a hard worker so please tell her to take breaks now and then. She wants to study a whole lot but it’s not healthy to only do that. She can’t object to you if you just hug her to keep her still and relaxed.
Annette is really clumsy, comically so. She’ll always state that she’ll clean up after herself but please help her so a bigger mess doesn’t happen. Patience is definitely key in the relationship.
Annette also loves cooking so either let her do it (and be prepped to clean up the mess that’ll surely come) or join her. If you do join her to cook then she’ll be really happy.
Loves to sing but gets so embarrassed when people are listening. She’ll sing for you but it’ll be shy and hesitant in the beginning so encourage her because she has such a beautiful voice.
Annette has a strained relationship with her father but she’ll be so moved if you go to him and tell him how you feel about her. If you actually talk to her father about the relationship and how you love her then she’s going to honestly begin crying from happiness.

uh...hi
so like I’ve never done this before, but I desperately needed a creative outlet while doing my final papers and between playing FE:TH and listening to my playlist instead of studying, I got hit with an idea that’s been plaguing me for days, so please enjoy this likely awful first attempt at this if you’re reading this I’m sorry thank you! WC: 1600ish
CW: Pre & Post Time-Skip, Azure Moon potential spoilers, lil angst, lil cuteness
The sights and sounds of the training room were of the few things that time hadn’t run away with. It’d been five years, five long, painful, years with the Imperial Army wreaking havoc on any land beneath its feet. Countless civilian and soldier lives had been lost and for what? All in the hopes of--
“Oof!” You manage, a strike while you were taking in your surroundings sending you to the floor. “Ugh. I yield.” “You’re distracted.” Felix concludes fairly easily, looking down at you, “That was a terrible hit. I was testing you, you failed.” “Okay, okay. I get it. Maybe a little. I’m sorry.” You sigh, rising and dusting yourself off. “I just...Being here again...I didn’t think it was going to feel this strange.”
He forces air out of his nose audibly, shaking his head, “If you’re dwelling hard enough to let me land a hit like that, you’re going to get yourself killed on the battlefield. Reminisce all you want, some of us are here to prepare for what’s to come. Get yourself together. If you die...I’ll be annoyed.” He remarks, rolling his eyes as he turns, heading towards a training dummy that would undoubtedly be more of a fight than you were. If nothing else had remained, this was still the same Felix, that much is certain.
The same bitter, broken, boy he’d been for nearly a decade. It was almost refreshing that he’d stayed the same. One familiar tongue in cheek remark and the upward turning of his eyes and it’s as though you’re both 17 again, more worried about the Professor’s overloaded tactics lectures and class exams than...well, a war raging on beyond the confines of what used to feel so safe. Of what, despite its dilapidated and decaying structure, still somehow felt safe. After everything it had so clearly been through, it was still standing, and that had to be a sign.
You didn’t know if it was being here again, or being surrounded by familiar faces for the first time in years that was keeping your chest warm, but you sincerely hoped the others were feeling it too. For the first time in so long, despite the current state of ruin that had fallen on Garreg Mach, the fragility of the surrounding circumstances, the rabid bloodlust that had overtaken Dimitri, the uncertainty of what the next few months would hold...
At long last, you could feel it. Something you thought was lost long ago.
Hope.
You consciously tried to remember a time before the war as you took your leave of the training grounds and walked toward the corridor of classrooms. Felix was right, it was useless to train if your mind was otherwise occupied. It was a miracle they were still mostly intact, and you found yourself picturing your Academy days, drifting into a daydream as the sound of your shoes on the cobblestones drifted gently away, replaced by the sounds of a bustling courtyard.
Remembering your first day as a Blue Lion was an easy feat as you took the seat that used to be yours, in the very back of the room, where the professor would often catch you reading instead of listening to their lectures. It was one of those days, where you felt it necessary to do anything but pay attention that you’d find where you belonged, in of all places, detention.
Quietly scrubbing the blackboard thanks to your indiscretions, joined by Sylvain, who had pestered Felix into “accidentally” knocking an inkwell all over him, his desk, and the floor, Felix, who refused to apologize for the action, and Ingrid, peacefully standing in the doorway of the classroom, experiencing great joy at the hands of the two of them. Sylvain, who was meant to be mopping the floor, kept finding “missed spots” conveniently where Felix was working at cleaning the desks, knocking into him with the handle as he’d pass by and further annoying him, Ingrid suppressing her urge to both laugh at the action and scold each of them for being a nuisance to the other. It wasn’t long before Felix had stolen the mop from him and backed him up against the wall, Sylvain both smiling playfully as he looks down at him and holding his hands up, Ingrid shaking her head, bringing you into the world they’d created for themselves, “You’re free to crack either of them over the head with the broom in the closet if they get to be too much. I won’t tell the Professor.” “Tempting as that may be...” You joke, turning to watch along with her, drying your hands with one of the rags. “They are fairly entertaining.” “Don’t encourage them.” She warns, laughing a little as Sylvain sighs heavily,  “Alright, alright. Enough. You can’t kill me with the ladies watching, especially not with such a blunt object.”
“Watch me.” Felix grumbles, shoving the handle into his chest with a thud and storming back to put the supplies away, Sylvain sporting a pout and rubbing where it’d hit, “Too far...noted.” He mutters, heading for the assist with extreme caution, leaving you to crack a smile as you take the dirty water out to the bushes, Ingrid assisting despite not being in trouble. “Sorry about them.” “Don’t worry, I find them entertaining. I look forward to the day Felix has finally had enough.” “That...is not a day I’d like to imagine. Planning Sylvain’s funeral won’t be fun, especially when a body can’t be found.” She jokes, the both of you laughing as you head back to the classroom, “Hey, are you two ready to quit quarrelling? They’re going to start serving dinner any minute!” “I never wanted to start. Goddess sake.”
Ingrid went on to invite you to dine with the three of them, something that greatly pleased Sylvain while simultaneously displeasing Felix. If there was anything he hated more than Sylvain’s antics, it was being forced to socialize, especially with people he didn’t already know. He’d chosen civility as a basis, but your disregard of Sylvain’s advances, and the fact you made Ingrid happy, quickly changed his mind. You didn’t know when exactly he’d started considering you a friend, but somewhere between the first time he’d called you a fool out of annoyance and long nights in the library studying by candlelight, you assumed he enjoyed your company, even if he’d never say as much.
“How did I know I’d find you here?” came his voice, startling you out of the depths of your mind. You hadn’t noticed the tears on your cheeks, brought on by days that would never happen again, until you turned toward the sound, him standing in the doorway, softening slightly when he saw the state of you. “I don’t know why you insist on torturing yourself.” he continues, heading inside the classroom, hesitating slightly as he passed his old desk.
“Fe...” You manage, wiping at your face, “It ended so...suddenly. Everything changed so fast. I just want...something to hold onto. You have to know what that’s like.” You attempt, looking over at him once again, him reluctantly levelling with you, sitting in the seat beside and looking across at the blackboard. “I do. And thinking of everything we didn’t get to do will only cause you pain. It’s foolish to sit here and think “what if” when there’s a war going on. If we are going to win, we need to keep our minds clear.” He says, looking to you. “After we’ve won, I’ll sit in the cathedral and help you light as many candles as you see fit. But for now...” he trails, rising once again, “...let me walk you back to your room. It’s dark out.”
You agreed with no words, rising and pushing your chair in like you’d done a thousand other times and taking his hand as he led you off into the night, holding on tightly. If this was yet another dream, you weren’t letting him go that easily.
Knowing you were in need of comfort, and not realizing just how much of his own was needed, he allowed this to continue all the way to your door, dropping your hand and turning toward you, your better judgment leaving you as you stepped forward, wrapping your arms around him.
The following few seconds were quiet as he was tense, his arms eventually finding their place around you. It wasn’t the first time, nor the first willing time, but likely the most necessary time for both of you. And in a few seconds more, it was over. He pulls himself away, clearing his throat. “Sleep off the rest of your nonsense...save it for later.” “You sleep too...if anyone tells me you went back to the training grounds after this...”
“Tch.”
“Exactly my point. Please rest yourself.” You found yourself near pleading. The deaths of those you didn’t know weighed so heavily, you didn’t want to imagine what losing someone so dear would mean. He merely shakes his head a little in response, turning to leave, “As you wish. Goodnight.”
“...Fe?”  He sighs, turning back toward you, “What? Need a bedtime story too?” “Do...you really think we’re going to win this?” You question, playing with your hands, unsure if you wanted an answer or just another minute of company as a gently and uniquely sly expression takes hold of him, his arms folding at his chest.
“Do you really think with the four of us together again, there’s any chance we’d lose?” He questions back, the warmth in you returning, that hopeful, optimistic feeling taking you over once again. “Of course not...goodnight Fe...thank you.”
“That’s what I thought. Enough of the foolishness...and get inside. Catching cold also does us no favors.” He says, an irritated tone that you knew by now was code for worry overtaking his voice, leaving you to smile and enter your room, gearing up to face the next day ready for what it throws at you.
All the while, Felix waits idly by to hear the clicking of the lock, the guarantee of your safety, before taking himself back to his own room, gently reminding himself of the pledge for “blades, blood, and battle” he’d made long ago, there being no time for anything but, no matter how it felt to finally hold your hand.

I'd like to make a request for a headcanon with Ingrid who finds her s/o who joined the enemy's cause instead of joins hers. Thanks if you take this up
I don't know the scale of the cause so I'll try to keep it as a general thing and just do branch endings (also godamn Tumblr deleted my progress and I am writing it for the second time)
Tumblr media
Ingrid finding out her S/O fights for enemy's cause
To put it short: betrayal and anger is what she felt. But within all that she was mainly sad.
She just couldn't believe you! Of course you wouldn't always agree on everything but that was too much for her.
At many points she tried to prove her point and convince you to join her. But you could do that too.
Whether you did or not that wouldn't be a simple task, Ingrid can be very stubborn.
(If the issue is minor and you still see each other on daily basis) she won't lie she's mad at herself too. Letting something so small control her emotions and her ending up fighting with you.
She doesn't want to do that but she just can't help it but glare at you. Honestly she wants the entire thing to be over already.
(if it's something major and you can't see each other often) from the very start she was extremely worried and she can't stop thinking about your safety.
But are her ideals are stronger than her feelings for you? Maybe she's the one in the wrong? Sometimes she asked herself that...

Sylvain Jose Gautier x Ingrid Brandl Galatea
Sylvain returned home from visiting Felix in Fraldarious territory in time for dinner he was looking forward to, nothing like a meal with his beloved wife to get him excited. He expected to see her spending time with the horses in the stables, but she wasn't there. Her battle pegasus Gwyndolyn didn't seemed to have been taken out today either. He confirmed this fact with one of the stable men, who proceeded to let him know the margravine was waiting for him in the private balcony. Sylvain thanked him for the information, and practically ran into the estate, excited to see Ingrid again.
Ingrid sat at the table on the balcony overlooking the inner courtyard of the Gautier residence, staring up at the stars. It was rare to have a quiet moment to themselves, there was still much to do to rebuild Faerghus to her former glory and beyond. She was aware that the major war was over, but local minor skirmishes would still occur, and she knew very well the feeling of losing someone to war, which is why she treasured every moment with a loved one, especially her husband. They always made sure to spend alone time together after either returned from long trips, but this time it was more than just a reunion.
In all honesty, she was quite worried of his reaction. They were both quite aware of the pressures put on them due to the social implications of bearing a crest, Sylvain especially. However she was a few months along and would be showing soon, now is as good as any time to break the news.
“Wow, a full course meal, did you miss me that much?” Sylvia teased, leaning against the balcony doorway smirking at her.
“Cut it out Sylvain, you know we do this every time one of us returns from a long trip. But I do have something to tell you soon.”
“Oh? Now you have my full attention.”
“Remove your armour first my love, we still have to eat our meal.” Ingrid laughed, watching as he made quick work of his armour. She’d tease him about the one other time he was this quick with removing his armour after a risky assassination attempt and finally got alone time together.
Once he sat down across her, they said their prayers in thanks for the meal and dug in.
“So, what was that you wanted to tell me?” He asked,
“I’ll tell you after the meal Sylvain. it’s rude to talk with your mouth full.”
Sylvain laughed, Ingrid was as strict as ever.
“There’s something therapeutic about watching you shovel all that into your mouth you know?”
“I can’t help it Sylvain, I’m eating for two after all.”
Sylvain paused his movements, the spoonful of pheasant roast falling from his spoon, eliciting a giggle from her. Is she really that dense?
“Ingrid, you’re surely jesting. You do understand the meaning behind that phrase ,do you?”
“I understand it very well Sylvain, I certainly do.” She put her hand over her stomach, emphasizing her point.
Sylvain leapt from his seat, kneeling down in front of his wife, face to face with her tummy. He put his hands over hers on the still forming baby within, almost wondering if he was dreaming. “A child...a new life we created. Someone else to treasure and love as much as my wife.” He cups her face within his palms, slightly shaky now. “I never thought this day would come... where I get to have a family with the woman I truly love.”
Ingrid took the initiative and kissed him, a soft sweet kiss filled with love for each other. “I’ve long dreamt of this, and now it’s finally real.”
“Is this really happening, Ingrid? Or am I still on the mission dreaming about my wife?” Sylvain stared at her intently, as if expecting that she’d disappear in an instance.
“No Sylvain, you’re home. On the balcony overlooking the garden and learning that you’re going to be a father.” Ingrid reassured him, taking one of his hands and squeezing hard to emphasize that this was real.
Sylvain stood up, bringing Ingrid along and hugging her tight, “ Thank you so much, my beloved. You have once again made me the happiest man alive. Honestly, how do you do that.” He laughed, lacing their fingers together. Then a serious look overtook his face and he stared intently into Ingrids eyes. “I vow to love and protect our child, crest bearing or not.” Ingrid felt her eyes water and the intensity of his statement, her smile mirroring his,
“Yes, we’ll love our child, be they a crest bearer or not.”

Beauty and the... [Pt. 6]
Pairing: Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd x Reader, Sylvain Jose Gautier x Reader, Felix Hugo Fraldarius x Reader
Part: (6/?) [First] [Previous] [Next]
Genre: Romance, Drama
Fandom: Fire Emblem Three Houses
P.o.V.: 2nd
Word Count: 2,584 Words
Warnings: Language
Further Notes: And the long awaited chapter is here! Four chapters after this are left, are you ready?
You watched Sylvain from across the room. You had told Mercedes, who came to check up on you, that you weren’t feeling too well that day and was going to skip classes earlier today and she simply agreed and wished you a happy rest. None of the other Lions were particularly concerned about Sylvain’s absence, it wouldn’t have been the first time this semester when it occurred after all. But now that your hands were free from their snares, your mind wandered back to the night before only more often, and it drove you insane.
What did he mean by that?
Well, of course you knew. It wasn’t the first time you’ve heard him say it, but for some reason it felt different. You weren’t dense. You knew that boy caught feelings for you, and he caught them hard. But you truly didn’t feel the same—
Wait, actually?
You relaxed in your seat in the classroom and watched him yammer on to Felix. Would being in a relationship with Sylvain be that bad? Then you watched as another female student blew him a kiss, to which he winked back at her as if it was just a reflex and you scoffed to yourself.
“What was I even thinking?” You rolled your eyes and opened your book. But some strange thought compelled you for a moment and you shut your book and looked back to who you thought was your older brother figure and your best friend and huffed slightly. “Well…”
You knew Sylvain, you knew him well. If you looked past the obvious flirt, he’s actually a very deep person with very deep insecurities. He’s a lot smarter than people chalk him up to be, and truthfully you don’t think he’s be a bad boyfriend, but he would have to be as hooked to you as you are to him, otherwise you’re just set up for heartbreak.
Now you know Sylvain’s got it bad for you, you didn’t miss the way he blushed, you just elected to ignore it, but at the same time that’s just Sylvain. He gets hooked on one girl, then it dies out like a flame in the rain. You’re very close with him, that much is fact, and you’re really not sure if risking your near sixteen years of friendship is worth a relationship. But there lies the possibility that he is that infatuated with you, but now it’s the argument of is it love or is it infatuation, because both are two very different things, to your understanding. If you were to ask him, truth be told, he’d probably say they’re the same thing.
Now for a brief lesson on the whims of love, as presented by Professor Byleth to his colleagues. The origin of ‘Love’ and the origin of ‘Infatuation’ do stem from the same roots, they start in the heart, but it is where that feeling travels to that differentiates the two. As many might protest against, infatuation travels to the head, while love travels to the rest of the body. Infatuation is to be defined as the being obsessed with the simple idea of being in a relationship, and in this case that is a majority of Sylvain’s feelings in general. Where as love is something that encases one whole, it is the simple deciding factor that allows you to put the other before yourself when necessary, but at the same time to prioritize yourself when you must.
To bring this back to your situation, you know Sylvain enough to know that the boy is constantly hooked on the idea, but never on the truth. You trust Sylvain, you really do, after all, it is him you go to before the others most of the time, he has the best insights once he drops his dumb-jock facade and decides to become an actually decent guy.
“Um… (Name)?” Dimitri tapped your shoulder and you are pulled out of your in-depth analysis.
Dimitri.
Whenever you think you’ve gotten over him, he just has to show his dumb face in front of you in his dumb school uniform with that dumb blue cape and his dumb blue eyes and you feel yourself falling for him all over again. You feel bad for Sylvain, he had to sit through you talking about Dimitri over and over again for years, you thought about apologizing, but whenever you gave a hint to, Sylvain would reassure you that it was fine.
Dimitri is such an enigma, let that be known. You had known him for years, thanks to your mother, and you have seen his rises and falls and everything in between. But the question now arises, is what you feel for Dimitri love or infatuation?
“Oh, hey, Dima, what’s up?” You force a smile on your face and he eyes you suspiciously.
“I was wondering if you could help me out with bow training?” He asked.
Oh, you almost forgot about that. Dimitri’s strong proclamation of switching to bow skills, one you wouldn’t have seen coming from a mile away, but one that wasn’t a horrible surprise. You nodded.
“Sure, I’ll try to get you a silver bow so it doesn’t break again,” you laugh. And there’s another thing that was on your long list of ‘WHY I LOVE DIMITRI.’ It’s the honesty, the way you could read his feelings on his face. The first thing you noticed was how the tips of his ears would turn red first before the rest of his face did, then he would do that nervous side glance that would send your heart racing. Sometimes you were afraid that people would be able to tell how whipped you were for the young prince because, truth be told, the odds of you and Dimitri being end game were short, very short. He’s a prince and you’re a commoner who just happened to be lucky enough to be a part of the lives of nobles, it was just not meant to be.
You would describe your story as a complicated romantic plot. But the boy behind you would describe it as a sob story. As frivolous as he seems, Sylvain is in no way an idiot. He knows your feelings for the Prince, and he knows Dimitri’s feelings for you, there’s no way he could ever stand a chance against the crown prince of Fhirdiad, and in your heart, your relationship has plateaued at ‘Sibling-Like,’ a placement he wasn’t happy with, but one he was willing to maintain.
“Honestly, Sylvain, look at you, you’re pathetic,” Felix scoffs. “You’d might as well just tell her how you feel so you could stop looking like such an oaf when she does as much as breathe.”
“It’s just that we’ve been friends for so long, I don’t think I should say anything,” Sylvain kept his carefree smile on his face, but his words were somber. “Plus, her and Dimitri have a bond we could never have.”
“I don’t think so, but alright,” Felix shrugs. “I’ve had enough of your moping, take action or I will for you.” Sylvain blew a piece of his hair out of the way and slumped his shoulders.
“Yeah, I hear you, Felix,” he groans. The door to the classroom opens and Byleth walks in, tomes and papers stacked in his hands. He tosses them on the table and turns to the class.
“I hope you’re all ready for your first mission as students. Bandit removal, make sure your weapons are ready and repaired, we move out in a few hours,” he instructs. The class affirms his questions collectively and next thing they knew it, they were at the drop-off location, getting in formation.
This wouldn’t be your first time going against enemies, which is sad enough to say. But the life of a commoner isn’t one of luxury. When you weren’t with your mother in the castle, you were with your father at home, home being a small cottage in the middle of the woods since your father was a paranoid maniac.
It sounds cruel, but there’s no other way to put it. From a young age you had to do things for him, and that included making sure people who were hellbent on killing your father, claiming that he was “cursed” or whatever new word they cooked up for him, weren’t a problem. When did it start again? You had to have been ten at least, right?
Oh, goddess above, you just realized how bad that sounded.
Let’s set something straight, you’ve never killed anyone! Gods no. You just scared them away, is all, enough for them not to come back to hurt your father.
Now the person who taught you how to use your sword in the first place was your father, before the “Goddess please take my life away as well as my wife and child” blubber he spouted out, in fact, he was also involved in the Monastery’s defenses, until he was untimely “retired” as Seteth put it.
Another unknown fact to most, actually you didn’t recall ever telling your friends either, you had connections in the Monastery even before you were admitted to the Officers Academy, mainly for fear of being disparaged since you were technically only let in because of “connections,” and goodness how you hated using that word but it was all that was there to use. As far as your classmates know, you got in because of good grades.
Which you believe would have been right, if only you actually went to school.
# Commoner Things.
Regardless, Dimitri and Ingrid’s books always kept you as educated as you had to be.
But let’s get back to the story.
“(Name), I want you and Felix to work together for this battle,” Byleth instructs. “You two should play off of each other well, focus on bow skills.”
“Right,” you nod. You link your arms with Felix. “Guess you’re stuck with me, Lix.”
“Great, now I have to babysit while I’m in battle,” Felix rolls his eyes and you smile.
“I feel like I never partner up with you anymore! What’s the worst that could happen?” You shrug.
“With your luck? Murphy’s Law is your best friend, (Name).”
“Don’t be like that, don’t worry, I have your back!”
That exchange was ten minutes ago.
You and Felix have been pushed back and essentially cornered by the enemy bandits, and the rest of the class was on the whole other side of the battle field.
But it wasn’t your fault! Felix was the one who was cocky enough to think he could handle the west side by himself, and you had to follow him because otherwise Byleth would have failed you. So now the both of you were hiding behind a rock, out of Vulnaries, and on the brink of exhaustion. And since the Professor wanted you to focus on your bow skills he may or may not have confiscated your sword, and Felix was being a dick and not letting you use his.
“How many arrows do you have left?”
“Uh… six.”
“How many enemies are left?”
“Uh… also six.” You hold your bow close to you and Felix holds both of your shoulders.
“Look, (Name), I always make fun of you and say you will never amount to anything because you are a commoner—“
“Geez, Lix, I get it, I’m worthless, chill out.”
“But right now this is me telling you that you can and you will one shot all those enemies because otherwise we will both die out here.”
“Well maybe if you gave me your sword—“
“It’s broken, (Name), you really think I’d give this to you and toss you out there? If Sylvain doesn’t kill me, Dimitri will tear my innards out.”
“Right. Okay,” you nod in tiny. “I dunno, Lix, my hit rate is one to six.”
“You can do it, I know that better than the others,” he shakes you slightly.
“Okay, okay, but if I die I am so convincing the Goddess to let me come back down so I can strangle you.”
“Deal. Now go kill those bandits.”
“Right, okay, right,” you nodded your head again.
Quick reminder, you’ve never killed anyone.
Also quick reminder, you don’t specialize in bow.
Also another reminder, last time you killed a fly you cried.
Okay, good luck, (Name).
You stood up and drew your bow back, focusing on the closest bandit, taking a deep breath in, you adjusted your stance, remembering Claude’s words, and as you exhale, you release the arrow, following it’s trail and hitting the enemy, leaving him out of commission.
“Oh gods, I did it. I actually did that… I am so sorry, I am so so sorry,” your expressions shifted dramatically. Felix poked his head out from behind the rock.
“See what did I tell you, (Name)? Go fuck some shit up!”
“Watch your language, Frauldarius,” you draw your next arrow, a new found confidence setting in you, and aim for your next target. Maybe you’re imagining it, but there was something different about how you were using your bow today, something more intense, to put it simply. Did arrows really fly that fast? And was a wooden bow really that strong enough to eliminate the enemies in one hit?
All questions for later.
Finally there was one last bandit and, using the same technique as the previous bandits, you took your shot.
And missed.
“You missed?!” Felix ran both hands through his hair.
“I told you I was a beginner!”
“So you miss your target the one time you shouldn’t miss?!”
“Oh shut up, Felix, you’re lucky I got the first five!”
“You two are really arguing, at a time like this?” The bandit halted in his tracks.
“Yeah we are, fuck off,” Felix grumbles. You glare at the bandit, grab Felix’s broken-ass sword, and drive it into the bandit’s chest.
“Don’t fucking interrupt me!” You growled. “Anyways, I don’t understand why you’re so unreasonable, Felix, you don’t see me complaining about your attitude 24/7.”
“That’s because you’re weak.”
“Say that again to my face!”
“I did!”
And the argument continued for the Goddess only knows how long and it finally ended when the Professor found the two of you and explained that the battle had been long over, then after a thorough scolding for worrying the entirety of the class, the two of you just decided not to talk to one another. Although you did find some joy in seeing Ingrid nag Felix about his broken sword, going off about how he should have checked before their very important first mission. But then your joy ended when she turned her anger towards you and lectured you on how you should have some respect for the people who were older than you, and also how you shouldn’t argue in battle since it’s “distracting” to the other classmates, but how could it be “distracting” if it was only you and Felix?
Either way, you had a bitter attitude for the rest of the week, and none of the Blue Lions were brave enough to go up to you and even make small talk.
And it wasn’t until Friday night when Felix decided to man up and go up to you.

Fire Emblem Three Houses - Dimitri x Reader (Chapter 1)
Here it is, folks. Chapter one of my horrifically self indulgent reader insert fic where we can all collectively love Dimitri together. As is only right. Please enjoy.
Prelude in C Major Opus 1, No. 1
Centered in the very heart of Fódlan within the expansive range of the Oghma Mountains, buried deep behind lush forests and the foggy pass of Magdred Way, Garreg Mach Monastery loomed above the world from its sea of clouds, the stately towers and ancient architecture acting as stalwart sentinels for those below.
Upon first glance, you were enchanted. Upon second, enthralled. After that, it was only a matter of trying to distinguish which things you loved the most. Perhaps it was the way the grass that blanketed the area was so green and vivid, flourishing in spite of the passing seasons of cold. Maybe it was the enclosing lines of formidable stone walls your wagon passed on the way up, dotted by towers, topped by parapets, and washed in browns and grays by time’s ever turning hand. Or, possibly, it was what laid behind them that your heart was taken in by. Bustling civilian towns surrounded the monastery, markets and housing districts built on tier-like shelves along the climbing slope in a haphazard sprawl of civilization. Only about half of anything seemed to have been done with any purposeful design, but the people were lively and energetic, their intermingling voices and calls and the chaotic track of daily life creating a lovely sort of song to accompany your nervous anticipation.
A zigzagging road cut through the center of it all, leading up to the main gates of the monastery itself. Beyond that were the spire towers of the monastery, a place so old and established that the buildings seemed to have grown out of the mountain directly.
Garreg Mach Monastery was, simply put, beautiful.
You couldn’t say exactly what you had expected - how could you build up a mental image of a place when it was so different from anything you’d ever known? - but you knew that it surpassed whatever fantasies you might have been able to conjure. A musician’s life was built upon romantic comparison and clever use of words, but there was nothing quite like Garreg Mach that you could think to liken it to. In some ways, it brought to mind the hidden castles pictured in the illustrations of your childhood fairy stories, a place of wonderment seated up in the sky. In another sense, the grand structures invited thoughts of the daunting military fortresses in Rowe territory called Arianrhod, a place of protection and great strength.
Then again, it was unlike any of that. Garreg Mach was a dream come true, a place you’d been longing for since your youth, made even more wondrous because you were not here to simply admire and gawk. Aside from being the central location for Fódlan’s religion, the Church of Seiros, Garreg Mach was an academy specializing in the art of warfare. Perhaps it was odd that a monastery would be the host for a school well known for teaching students in the ways of the physical and logical aspects of battle, but upon seeing the place for yourself you felt no need to question the combination. Like the complementary entwinement of harmony and melody, or the pairing of bread and butter, it was something that made sense.
The market area at the very top of the mountain had a festival-like air to it when you finally arrived. Temporary stalls boasting toys and trinkets were erected alongside weapon racks full of silver and steel, the next tent over featuring mannequins dressed in heavily accessorized and stylized academy uniforms to lure in young students with the shine. Somewhere, something was being roasted, the enticing scent rolling in with the hundreds of other smells filling the square. And beyond all of it was Garreg Mach’s front hall. The wagoneer who had charged you two pennies for a ride to the top of the mountain pulled his small wagon to the side of the entrance gate where horses were hitched and wagons left so as to not further congest the busy market square.
Slinging your lyre case across your back using an invention of your own design with a thick leather strap crossing your chest, you jumped to the ground. Once your feet were planted, you luxuriously stretched your arms above your head, relieved to finally be finished with your travels.
Despite yourself, a shiver slithered down your spine. Although the weather was extremely mild in these parts of Fódlan, especially since it was only barely the new year, the altitude lent an extra bit of cold to the air. You were grateful for the warm blazer of the academy uniform, but perhaps regretting your stylish choice for stockings rather than leggings. Only somewhat. They were awfully cute, after all. A covered yawn invited the chilly late-morning air into your lungs, making you aware that the oxygen was far more thin than you were used to. It was something you had been warned of, but not quite expected.
“Are you ready?” Finnegan, the aged wagoneer, asked as he rounded the wagon, allowing the grooms to deal with his unhitched roan horse.
“Yes, sir,” you replied, smiling brightly and filled with renewed energy that had you bouncing on the balls of your feet with anticipation, and to fight off any clinging touch of that chill. With every movement, the case of your lyre tapped your back, a counterbeat to that of your heart and feet.
Finnegan laughed as he unloaded your trunk from on top of his boxed goods. “You oughta be saving that kind of talk for the knights, I’d say,” he told you in his odd accent, although he wore a friendly smile. At first glance the man had seemed quite gruff and intimidating, what with his sun aged face and wide brimmed hat casting deep shadows over his rugged features, but person’s character was something you felt you had to learn by more than just looking at them. Besides, he was the only one to offer to drive you to the top of the mountain rather than making you walk, which counted for a lot considering how late you already were in arriving to the academy.
“If that was the case I’d have to insist you call me ‘Lady’,” you told Finnegan primly, maintaining a serious look for just a moment before it split into another grin. “But, Master Finnegan, I don’t believe in such things.”
Finnegan laughed again, shaking his head in bewilderment. “If you say so, young miss,” he said.
You crouched to lift your heavy trunk. It was like you filled it with rocks, although you knew it was more accurate to say it was filled with trees, considering how much paper was packed away. One never knew how many books they’d need while training to become a hero.
“Er, would you like some help with that?” Finnegan asked, looking somewhat concerned. “I reckon if you sent for someone they could fetch it for you.”
Despite the weight, you didn’t feel strained as you stood up. Between a year and a half of intensive training and the natural strength lent to you by the Crest imbued in your body, you hardly blinked at the weight. It was rather impressive, really. Just a year ago you probably would have collapsed beneath it.
“It’ll be all right. I got it this far, after all,” you told him playfully. Finnegan still looked doubtful. Worried, maybe? But he didn’t argue, for which you were grateful. Even in this small way, he trusted that you weren’t too weak for the task. It bolstered your confidence. “I suppose this is farewell, then.”
“That it is, young miss.”
“Well, then… Good luck with your trade, Master Finnegan,” you said. Then paused a moment, something occurring to you. Carefully, you balanced your trunk on one knee to free a hand, a most precarious position. It was fine, however, as you only needed to retrieve a handful of small things. Coins. “Here! As a… Tip!” you said, holding the money out over the flat surface of your trunk.
“A tip, young miss? That’s not necessary, it was only a short journey,” Finnegan said, eyeing the coins doubtfully. You realized a second late it was a rather sizable sum to most people, especially for a tip. But even to you, hailing from a rather poor family by the standards of nobility, a pocketful of coin was all but worthless. You offered them up more insistently, afraid your precarious hold on your trunk would fail and unwilling to back down.
“For your smile and good company, then,” you told him. Finally, thankfully, he took the coins. You were happy to see it made him smile. Indeed, his face didn’t look even half as scary when he smiled, even if his teeth were crooked. It gave him character. “Goodbye, Master Finnegan. I’m happy to have met you.”
“Likewise. Good luck to you, young miss,” Finnegan said, tipping his wide brimmed hat.
And that was that. Perhaps there were more words you wanted to say, but you knew it was only prolonging the inevitability of having to venture into the crowd all by yourself. Finnegan himself was little more than a stranger, but he was relatively more familiar than what was to come. From here on out, it was only you and the world. Or, you and the academy. There had never been a time in your childhood that you had thought you’d be in a position of such grand freedom, or that such a thing would feel so precariously tilted, like you were balancing on the edge of a ledge and ready to fall any moment.
But you’d already come this far, and anxiety wasn’t the only thing making you jittery.
Weaving among the market square with your trunk making each step just a tad more cumbersome, you made your way towards the sweeping monument that was Garreg Mach’s entrance hall. There were as many people as there were on the spare occasion you went out into the streets of Fhirdiad, but these people were far different from those crowds. Energetic. Enthusiastic. Clean. There was no anger in the shoulders that bumped yours, and nobody cursed at you if you accidentally stumbled into them. It was what you’d always hoped the world would be, in a way.
Careful with the steps considering you couldn’t see them over your trunk, you finally got to the large doors. They were open, revealing a grand entrance hall swarming with even more people and activity and noise. Not even bothering with a steadying breath, you entered the fray with awe-filled eyes and parted lips, amazement filling you at the magnitude of it all. Just as you had thought while approaching, Garreg Mach was amazing. Fulfilling and surpassing any dream you could have ever had, more wonderful than any place you’d ever been. Truly without a parallel, Garreg Mach was -
Too busy gawking at your surroundings, you almost ran right into somebody.
“Watch where you’re going, girl!” the person snapped. You nearly fell in your skidding steps backwards, but managed to keep your balance after a bit of stumbling. Heart racing from the near catastrophe, you peered over your trunk to see who you had almost knocked over. A woman. She was dressed in the robes of the Church of Seiros with her graying hair in a rigid knot atop her head. Her bespectacled gaze was piercing, and you were certain her thin face had more wrinkles than skin.
“I’m so sorry!” you exclaimed, shrinking beneath the weight of her glare, so similar to the intimidating look given to you by many of the tutors you’d had growing up. The woman neither accepted or rejected the apology, but you were certain that her lips tightened in disapproval, encouraging more words to tumble from your mouth apologetically. “I couldn’t see you over my trunk, and I was just a bit distracted because I only just arrived and it’s all so grand! But I really am sorry, I hope I didn’t hurt you or anything, I-”
“Name?” she interrupted brusquely, using a snappish tone of someone who was utterly certain of her command over your obedience. She was right. You gave your name to her quickly, without hesitation. From behind those narrow spectacles, she scanned the pages in the leather bound logbook she held.
“From Fhirdiad… Of low, noble birth… Oh, Imperial mother?” she muttered as she made a note with a charcoal pencil on the page, seemingly speaking to herself. You weren’t sure if you were meant to respond, but she saved you by raising her arm into the air, withered skin and church robe flapping with the movement. At her cue, a young man cut through the surrounding crowd and jogged up to the two of you. She didn’t even look up at his approach.
“Another student?” he asked, dark eyes flicking from her to you.
“She is,” the woman flipped to a different page in her book. “Bottom story room. It seems that there’s several available on the far end.” She made a mark on the page.
“Got it,” the young man said. “I can take that.” He motioned to take your trunk, which you’d nearly forgotten you were carrying while speaking. Just a year ago, your arms probably would have been trembling and weak by now. “You want me to take that, too?” he asked, pointing to the lyre case on your back. Your hand rose to touch the smooth shell of the case instinctively, protectively.
“No, thank you.”
He didn’t argue, nodding before sauntered off with your trunk, the retreating image of his back eaten by the crowd of students.
“Do you understand the Officer’s Academy system of organizing their students?” the woman asked.
“Yes, there are three houses,” you replied, repeating information you had rehearsed many times. “Since I come from Faerghus, I’ll be in the Blue Lions house.” Your sword instructor had graduated from the Blue Lions as well, a source of great pride for him. The severe woman nodded.
“Yes. Your house leader this year is Prince Dimitri, the heir to the Kingdom’s crown.”
Your stomach tightened, but you nodded. It was surreal to hear it said aloud, but expected. Even you, far removed from local gossip and noble politics, had heard that Prince Dimitri would be attending the Officer’s Academy. Although you’d often thought of him as being years your senior, his idol status elevating him to something far grander than your own limited existence, he was the same age as you.
“You’ll be expected to complete registration before class begins the day after tomorrow, although I recommend making time for it today so you may receive your official room assignment and key,” the woman continued. “Any further questions can be answered to your house leader or professor.”
“Understood,” you agreed automatically, a response instilled in you through the brute force of too many frightening authority figures.
“That’s everything, then,” she said, snapping her book closed. “If you continue ahead you will find the common rooms where I’m sure you will be able to locate your house leader for further questions. It is, of course, expected that you will behave in a fashion suited to a student at the Officer’s Academy at all times.” The pointed glare made you shy away, but you nodded. She gave a single, curt bob of her head in acknowledgement. “Now, please excuse me, there are other students who require my attention.” She did not wait for you to respond, leaving you standing alone without even a goodbye or good luck. Using your excellent judgement of character, you decided you didn’t like that woman very much.
But, being alone gave you a moment to pause and catch your breath, studying the crowd of students around you. They were nearly as interesting as Garreg Mach itself. They were wildly varied in terms of appearance and disposition, hailing from all parts of Fodlan, but they all wore uniforms just like yours. They’d come to Garreg Mach for the same reason as you, to learn the art of fighting and battle. Most of them would be noble, or at least extremely wealthy. Both, sometimes. Not that it mattered. Your dream had nothing to do with nobility or wealth, or even to do with other people. That didn’t mean you couldn’t make friends, though. You’d never had a friend from the Empire or Alliance. Well, really you hadn’t ever had a friend at all. The idea that you would was frightening, but exciting.
Even more frightening, yet exciting, was the fact that you were about to meet someone you had spent most of your life idolizing. Oddly, the idea invited far more nerves than anything else. Prince Dimitri was no longer your idol, and he hadn’t been since you crested the cusp of childhood, but he was still royalty. The genesis of your dreams of knighthood and heroism.
After a bit of uncertain mental back and forth, you decided to gather the guts to ask someone where you might find your house leader, realizing how easily you could get lost when you made it past the great entrance hall and into the expansive space beyond.
Blue cape, the first student said. Blond hair. Likely hanging around the common rooms. Or the dormitory, another chimed in. Wait, hadn’t you heard that the house leaders were leaving today? He was already gone. Oh no, claimed another student, they hadn’t left yet. Yes, he could have sworn he just saw the Blue Lions professor hurrying past. His face oddly pale, too. A bit weird, don’t you think?.
So began your first journey around the huge and confusing labyrinth of Garreg Mach. Not only did you know next to nothing about the layout, but you weren’t even entirely certain if the one you were looking for was still here. According to some sources he and the other house leaders were already gone. After a certain point, you were ready to admit defeat and settle for locating the rest of your class, until you saw the back of a head with cropped golden blond hair. Beneath it waved a cape so blue it seemed to make every other color less intense.
Anticipation spiked in your heart. Nerves. Fear. Excitement. It had to be him.  Somehow, you were certain of that.
On feet sore from the strain of breaking in your new school shoes, you hurried towards the figure. “Excuse me!” you called, drawing the gazes of the other students in the main hall. Right back where you’d begun, actually. You’d made so many circles around the monastery grounds you probably should have felt dizzy.
Luckily, the man in blue paused, turning his head back towards you curiously.
It was strange. As was only natural considering how long it had been, the prince looked completely different, yet you felt an instant pang of recognition. It was really true. It was him. You came to a stop a few feet away, breathing heavily from a combination of all the running and thinner air and uncomfortably aware that there was a sheen of sweat on your brow. Not exactly the best impression, but you managed a nervous smile regardless.
“You’re the house leader? For the Blue Lions?” you asked, a hand on your cheek in a vain attempt to cool it. You should have used his name, but somehow you felt too embarrassed to say it out loud.
“I am,” Dimitri responded slowly, curiously.
“You’re awfully difficult to find, you know,” you said with a breathless little laugh, trying to play off your nerves. Realizing immediately after that it sounded an awful lot like you were criticizing him, you quickly added, “But I’m not upset! It’s just that grounds are so big and I kept getting lost and I was told to talk to you before anything else and… Oh!” You stopped rambling and took a deep breath. It was easy to convince yourself that the only reason why your head was spinning was the altitude. You introduced yourself with a bow that was only slightly awkward due to the weight of the lyre case on your back. Ladies curtseyed, but your new position dictated that a bow was more appropriate. Recognition filled Dimitri’s eyes at some point during your drawn out introduction, curiosity being replaced by understanding.
“So you’re the late arrival. My apologies for not being there to greet you. Please allow me to welcome to the Officer’s Academy. I am Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd, crown prince of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus” he said, bowing neatly, the movement carefully controlled with perfectly stiff posture and grace. “Although, while we’re here, I’m simply a fellow student. Please feel free to address me informally. It’s an honor to have you in our class.”
“The honor is all mine,” you replied, only mostly flustered by his elaborate introduction, but smiling at his welcome all the same.
“Do you have any questions about life here at Garreg Mach, or your role as a student?” Dimitri asked, his voice polite and earnest, eyes the same startling shade of powder blue as you remembered. It was a color you spent much of your youth attempting to put to song, but seeing it again, you realized you’d never gotten it quite right. “I haven’t much time, but I would be happy to answer them.”
You didn’t even know if you had questions or not, you couldn’t remember what you had been thinking before finding him other than frustration at being lost and anticipation at seeing him again.
“You’re going somewhere?” you asked instead.
“The leader’s for each of the three houses are going on an expedition together so we may become more familiar before classes start,” Dimitri explained. “My most sincere apologies for such a short greeting, but I imagine we’ll be back tomorrow. If you have questions in the meantime, I don’t doubt that the other Blue Lions students will be of great help in answering them. I believe you can find them in the common room.”
“Oh… All right! Thank you, Your Highness,” you said, bubbly despite the nerves. Or perhaps because of them. You couldn’t help but note that your voice was just a touch too high to be considered normal. “And, um.. Good luck!”
Dimitri surveyed your enthusiastic smile before giving you one his own, an expression that didn’t reach his famously blue eyes. Not that it looked false, really. It was a smile that made you aware of one of the largest differences between your first meeting and this one. All those years ago, you had both had your fathers at your side.
Men who were now dead.
“Thank you. I will endeavor to do my best.” Dimitri bowed again. Then, with a vaguely militaristic step, he turned and left through the large doors. They allowed afternoon sun into the grand entrance hall, warm and golden, slanting slightly into your eyes.
After a beat of standing there uncertainly, you turned on your heel to leave. Your thoughts lingered on the meeting. Seeing as you had only met Dimitri the once, it came as no great shock that he wouldn’t remember you. A starry eyed girl would always recall her meeting with a prince, while you were just one of the hundreds to him. Mostly, it was just surreal. For years after that meeting, Prince Dimitri had something akin to a storybook character come to life. An object of your childhood fantasy, not a person. Meeting again, you were made aware that he was just a man. An orphan with weary eyes.
Shaking your head, you tried to cast out the prince from your mind altogether. Dimitri was far and away from being the reason you had worked your heart out to come to the Officer’s Academy, even if once upon a time he had been the inspiration. You were now a woman, free of such childish idealism. Adult idealism was much different.
For one, these ideals were going to be realized, of that you were most truly and absolutely certain.
Prelude in C Major Opus 1, No. 2
Garreg Mach was a mystery. You realized that pretty soon after getting lost for the third time. The old stone walls and large buildings were filled with a thousand little details and secrets just waiting to be discovered. It reminded you of the months directly following your move to your father’s estate when you were younger, before you knew everything it had to offer. It was a mystery that you wouldn’t be able to solve so quickly, but by that night, you at least knew the cast.
You first met Annette, the incredibly friendly and clumsy sorceress. Despite her tiny frame, she toppled you right onto the ground with her in her mad dash attempt to pull you to meet her best friend Mercedes. Mercedes, Annette’s best friend and white magic sorceress, greeted you with a smile so warm you felt it in your heart. She bandaged Annette’s scraped knee with a patience that led you to believe she’d done it many times before while they told you about the School of Sorcery in Fhirdiad, a place you’d heard of but never seen.
Then there was Ashe, the adopted son of Lord Lanato of the Gaspard Territory you had traveled through on your way to the monastery. His easy smile and soft green eyes invited an instant sense of trust, and it seemed that the both of you had similar goals and dreams. He was infectiously enthusiastic about the both of you trying your very best.
Ingrid was chivalrous and proud. You only properly met her when another member of the class named Sylvain approached you with flirtatious intent, only to be promptly scolded by the virtuous blonde. Old friends, she explained while Sylvain rubbed the back of his head where she’d smacked him, along with His Highness and Felix. Felix had a hard stare and intimidating aura, but he did smile while teasing Ingrid about her excitement over the food at Garreg Mach, so you doubted that he could be that bad.
Dedue you wound up meeting by accident, as he hadn’t been in the commons room. Actually, you met him in the greenhouse. The giant of a man had been tending to the flowers within. You only recognized him based on description, although it would have been impossible to mistake him. Prince Dimitri’s vassal and a man of Duscur. He didn’t say much to your introduction, and his gaze was intimidating and impossible for you to read.
Duscur was the country razed to the ground after taking the blame for the King’s assassination some years back. You didn’t know a lot about the tragedy that had taken place, or any of the events leading up to it, aside from that it had resulted in Dimitri’s father’s death, as well as the death of many others. There were many people who whispered about how bizarre and inappropriate it was for Dimitri to have chosen a man of Duscur as his vassal, although you found it hard to believe that Dimitri would trust someone of rotten character. Besides, you’d never seen such large hands be so tender with something as delicate as flowers.
By the next morning, you had a basic knowledge of Garreg Mach’s layout. Basically. At the very least, you got from your room to the mess hall and then to the baths without much trouble.
By the afternoon, you learned that the house leaders were back in the monastery.
A half hour later, you were told that there had been bandit attack that had nearly killed all three lords. To much fanfare and relief, they were accompanied back to the monastery by the mercenaries who saved them, a man named Jeralt who used to be a Knight of Serios and his son.
Jeralt’s son introduced himself as Byleth. You’d heard whispers among the students that called him the Ashen Demon, a moniker he’d picked up while doing mercenary work. To you, he didn’t look very demonic. His expression was perfectly serene, uncaring. Lacking emotion entirely, it almost seemed. But he was attractive, what with those dark blue eyes and messy hair, and very polite and softspoken. And he’d saved Dimitri. Besides, everyone was talking of how skilled he was in battle.
You liked him. How could you not?
An hour and a half after meeting the man, the Blue Lions were all gathered together and informed that Byleth was to be your new professor. Apparently, the other one had ran away in fear when the bandit attack happened, which had become a mere footnote in the excitement of Professor Byleth’s arrival and sudden hire as a teacher. A cowardly man you’d never meet, it seemed. Not that it mattered much. Who better to teach you to be a heroic knight than someone with actual combat experience? Your newly minted Professor Byleth didn’t seem to be too concerned one way or another about the entire affair, his dark eyes measuring each one of his new students in turn before wishing you all a good night.
The next day, classes began. And such was the start of your education at Garreg Mach Officer’s Academy.

fake dating ingrid
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: ingrid brandl galatea x gn!reader
tags: enemies to fake!lovers, ingrid scolding reader / bickering like a married couple, reader teasing ingrid, hate/love relationship
Tumblr media
in front of your friends and family you and ingrid played the happy couple
but behind closed doors the two of you are constantly at each other's throats
ingrid had only asked you to fake a relationship with her so that her father wouldn't marry her off to some noble she despised
and you had agreed, thinking this would help make your ex girlfriend jealous
everyone was always talking about what a sweet couple you were, but if they knew how you two talked to each other in private, they would quickly change their minds about the two of you
ingrid was always yelling at you. either it was because she thought that kiss earlier lasted a bit too long or because she wants you to stop giving her such stupid nicknames
at first you were thinking about ending the relationship with her so you wouldn't have to listen to her nagging all day anymore
but after a while, you started to realize how easy it was to tease ingrid and how furious she got
which happened to be especially fun in public situations where she couldn't scold you for it
your fake relationship ends up lasting longer than the two of you had anticipated
when she tried to break up with you the first time, you came up with a reason why you should keep going for a month or two more
now it's been over a year and it seems like your relationship is never going to end
your parents are already talking about a potential marriage and you know you should probably break up with her soon
but you can't deny that you enjoy being around her more than you had expected to…

May I get matched please? I'm 19, female, and pansexual. I can be shy when I meet new people, but I soon warm up to them once I get to know them. I can be introvert but I don't mind spending time with my friends whenever I'm not busy. I can be snarkly but only towards person I'm close with and have a little fun with teasing with them. I enjoy cooking and I like to expand my cooking skills by learning new recipes or learning on how to make my friends favorite foods. I am also hardworking always give my all on the task and sometimes I forget to take care of myself. I often daydream in my spare time, so I'm often have my heads on the clouds. I tend to take care of my friends and family the most, I care more of their well-being than my own. The random fact about me is that I love stuffed animals and whenever a close friend or family give me stuffed animals it would be place on my bed. Thank you so much and I hope you have a good day!!
(A/N): Of course you can! I’m sorry it took a while to get to yours, but I never expected that so many people would want a match-up!! I hope you like the character I chose for you!
I pair you with...
Tumblr media
Ingrid Brandl Galatea!!
Originally, this aspiring knight was attracted to you for your hard working attitude. She saw that aspect of herself in you and couldn’t help but bond with you over those similar ideas. Even if you were a little shy with her at first, she saw it as endearing and didn’t let it deter her. You can imagine her surprise as you became snarkier the closer you two got!
Ingrid absolutely adores you cooking as well. Anything you make for her is quickly devoured without any trace of its previous existence. She’ll spend time watching over your shoulder as you cook, offering suggestions and showering you with praises for your talent.
She can’t help but be concerned for your lack of self-care, though. Even she sometimes struggles with caring for herself, but she never lets you t get so far out of hand. Every now and then, she’ll gently pull you away from your work so you two can relax together. (Or if it’s really bad, she’ll practically drag you away in her arms) Sometimes when she knows your having a rough time, she’ll go out and get you a small plush, so you’ll always remember how much she loves you. At this rate? Your bed will be covered in gifts that this knight had bought for you.

I'd like a matchup, if you're not too busy! I'm also 25! I take a while to develop relationships but am starved for deep conversations. I used to think I was the lazy genius type, but my impostor syndrome says otherwise. I'm interested in literature, music, arts & food. I love a good story & spend a lot of time listening to podcasts. I'm also curious & love a good puzzle. I like to be seen as smart, unique & creative, but I'm sure of having a head full of buzzing thoughts ~1

Thanks for sending your request! I match you with...
Ingrid Brandl Galatea 💙
Tumblr media
Trust me Ingrid would get you. Like really, really really get you.
You'd meet after the war when Ingrid is already a respected knight.
She's made her dream a reality so why isn't she happy?
She's lonely. Always has been. But that's even clearer now that she doesn't have a big goal anymore.
So she hangs out in taverns a lot. She still enjoys food as much as she did in the academy days, so she's made it her new goal to try every chicken dish in Fódlan.
You're thrilled to spot her one day. This might have been just the stroke of luck that you need!
Yes I'm making you a bard in this I hope you can forgive me.
You approach her to ask to write a song about her. You know you have the skills for this... all you were lacking was the right inspiration.
She has a complicated relationship with tales of knighthood now that she's seen the reality of it. But she's desperate to share her troubles with someone, so she agrees to tell you her story.
Cue many nights where you meet to hear her tales, from her childhood to the academy days to the war.
Everything gets discussed: the happy moments, the hard decisions, the conflicted feelings...
Hearing all this you realise you actually have a lot in common with her.
When she hears the song you wrote, she breaks into sobs. She'd been desperate to be understood for so long.
She wants to commission you for more songs. She just doesn't want you to go.
You tell her that's not neccessary. You want to be her friend, regardless of employment.
Cue some more sobbing.
So you become good friends. You vow to accompany her on her knightly travels to experience all Fódlan has to offer with her.
While she's accomplishing her quests, you're putting your creativity to use, inspired by all the new sights and people around you.
And you try every chicken dish in Fódlan.
Given your temperaments there are bound to be a few fights, but neither of you really minds, knowing you'll make amends every time.
It takes a couple years for you both to realise you have fallen in love.
But when you do, you are both quick to act. Neither can imagine a future without the other, so the decision is clear.

I forgot to credit what I based it off of I’m stupid fnsnjsms so I forget things.

Class Pet
Felix Hugo Fraldarius/Reader
Byleth brings back a little kitten but it looks oddly familiar...
Word count: 901
Genre: Fluff
Warnings: None just fluff
A/N: First post... please let me know if I need to adjust anything! Thank you and enjoy!!!
~~~
Felix let out a small groan of annoyance. Why? It was all because of a tiny little kitten.
~~~
“Good morning professor!” Mercedes greeted as Byleth entered the classroom. A chorus of greetings followed Byleth as they walked toward the front desk. Nobody seemed to notice the small black fur ball in Byleth’s arms until Ashe spoke up. “Um professor is that… a kitten?” Byleth gave a small nod “This is our new class pet.” Everyone except for Felix practically jumped out of their desks to see the new kitten. A series of “Awww it’s so cute!” “So tiny!” “Hello kitten!” “It looks kinda like Felix!” rang around the classroom. This drew the said swordsman’s amber eyes to the front of the class. His eyes fell upon bright (e/c) eyes and soft (h/c) hair who happened to be holding the small kitten. They were stunning. ‘Heh they look kinda cut- wait. What?!’ Felix shook these thoughts out of his head. He approached the front desk and huffed. “Doesn’t look anything like me.” Sylvain grinned, “Well it does look kinda like you. Always grumpy.” This made the class let out a series of laughs. “Well it does have the cute Felix scowl.” (Name) stated as they scanned the kittens features. Felix scowled and turned his head around to hide his growing blush. ‘Cute?! They think I’m cute?! Of all things-‘ his thoughts were caught off by Dimitri. The young prince was now eye level to the kitten as he stated “Well upon closer look the kitten does seem to look li- GAH!“ The kitten swiped at poor Dimitri’s unsuspecting face. Sylavain roared with laughter “That’s just like Felix!” Ingrid scolded Sylvain for teasing the poor prince. Dimitri let out a small sigh as he covered his face in embarrassment. Dedue placed a hand on Dimitri’s shoulder to guide him to the infirmity. Annette squealed “It’s decided the kitten’s name is Felix!” Ingrid smiled “Welcome to the Blue Lions Felix!” “Yes, welcome.” (Name) let out a small laugh. It looked so much like Felix that they wanted to just steal him and snuggle him. You see both the ink haired swordsman and the bubbly (h/c) have caught not so small crushes on each other.
~~~
Felix groaned. Why? Why!? Why of all names did they have to choose Felix?! He huffed at annoyance as both (name) and Ingrid,who were seated next to each other, gushed over the other Felix. Felix scowled. He wanted (name)’s attention on him. Not the kitten. “Jealous are we?” Sylvain asked with a smirk. “Tch. No. Why would I be jealous?” Felix replies, his scowl growing with every new compliment that was thrown toward the kitten. “Maybe cause you like (name)?” Sylvain suggested with a smug look. “You’re insufferable.” Felix huffed. “Maybe just think that all of those lovely comments are toward you?” Sylvain suggested, the smugness evident in his voice. Felix paused. Maybe he should try? He listened in to the conversation. “He’s so fluffy and adorable!” (Name) cooed. This made Felix flush ever so slightly. But then Ashe and Annette walked over to the kitten. “Felix can only lash out without thinking huh?” Ashe commented remembering how Dimitri was caught off guard at the kitten's swipe. “Bad Kitty!” Annette jokes. Felix groaned, motivation lowering. Ingrid piped up “probably because he’s still young and his brain isn’t fully developed yet.” “Ohhh I get it he’s just simpleminded.” (Name) concluded. Felix huffed no longer motivated to go through class. Felix stormed out catching the attention of a (h/c) student. “Where did Felix go?” Byleth asked, getting ready for the lecture. “Something about not enough motivation?” Sylvain recalled.
~~~
“Stupid. Huff . Cat. Huff.” Felix panted as he continued to train to get his frustration out of his system. “Felix.” A familiar voice rang out. (Name) walked into view smiling at Felix. He flushed at the smile and turned away. “What do you want.” He growled. (Name)’s face gained a surprise look. “Well I thought that I should check on you.” They continued. “Are you.. jealous?” They smiled knowingly. You see Sylvain may or may not have tipped off the (e/c) student that a certain amber eyed swordsman has caught some jealously over the cat. “No I’m not jealous.” (Name)’s smile grew. “...yeah I am jealous.” Felix musters.“ (Name) gave Felix a hug snuggling their head into the crook of his neck. He smelled of sweat and almyren pine. Butterflies stirred in (name)’s stomach as they mentally squealed. Felix’s hands hesitated as his blush reached the tips of his ears. His hands slowly wrapped around their body a comforting warmth radiating from them. As they parted Felix’s breathing quickened. Should he? Oh screw it. He kissed them. (Name)’s eyes grew wide momentarily frozen with shock. The Felix Hugo Fraldarius was kissing them? (Name)’s eyes fluttered shut as they kissed back. Felix was inexperienced due to his lack of interest in romance but it was sweet and comforting nonetheless. His lips felt rough against (name)’s softer ones but both can feel the euphoric sensation flooding through them. As they parted Felix let out a rare smile. The ones that make him look so vulnerable and precious. (Name) gave a soft breathy laugh. “You’re the only Felix for me.” Felix’s smile grew. “Wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Hey, can I get a matchup? Just the 1 please. I'm a straight male, and I have a pretty wide range of interests. For one, I've been doing martial arts for years, and I love practicing it, working out, and teaching people. I love teaching, my job right now is teaching younger students at martial arts. But I also adore reading and literary analysis and writing. I basically set up my weeks for some days to be outdoorsy, or exercise days, but I always make sure to include my loved ones in them (1/3)
I had to make some changes to my schedule so I could post something here at least once a month. You know I should've just... Kept everything on one blog but it's too late for that now hah
I match you with...
Tumblr media
Ingrid Brandl Galatea
She definitely would go with you to the place where you teach martial arts and she gladly would lern from you.
However she would be a bit akward with the kids. She'd warm up to them sure but it would take at least a day.
She might not be the most affectionate girl (when it comes to initiation) but when she's exhausted after long training she'd be a bit more cuddly.
The exchanges are very exciting in her opinion. She just likes to read whatever you find interesting and getting you into her favorite books brings her a lot of joy.
