Three years ago my story was very present yet I hadn’t dealt with any of it. My lie was very present “ I am not worthy of love.” I lost my mother almost three years ago and most of you know that I was molested as a child but what I don’t often share is that I was raped in college. I shared this with a male that I considered a major part of my life. This is what my “friend” said after I told him what happened: He said to me, “I spoke with him. He said he just got it. You just gave it to him.” My response was “ how, when I was crying and said no?” Him, “Maybe report it?” Me, “Why, so they can do the same thing that you just did to me?” My life has been plagued by sexual assault.... assault by those I should have been able to trust. Part of coping after so many times of dealing with this was gaining weight. “Men would find me less attractive right and leave me alone?!” I blamed myself! My healing came from God, counseling, working out at @championtonefitness , @infernofitness, journaling and Yoga.
