For tips, you can do most common language learning tips like making flash cards, watching movies, reading news, writing comments/chatting etc. so you also get to know the culture. I’m thinking to make word of the day posts too but time orz

There are lots of Indonesians on tumblr (Indonesians, pls like/reblog/reply to this post yo), you can follow them.

Caritra houses a lot of Indonesian folklore. The stories are both in English and Indonesian.

I’ve seen some Indonesian language learning apps on android store too, but I never tried them.

Learning new language can be daunting, so don’t rush and enjoy the process. Take a break if you need it. Ask help from people, whether a fellow learner or even an Indonesian. If anyone else knows other good sites for learning Indonesian, pls tell us. Good luck with your quest, and don’t hesitate to ask us more about the language

Bahasa Indonesia for English speakers! : References

I am not a native Indonesian speaker, but I would like to share my knowledge of the language. Also sharing my journey.

^ The dictionary I use ^

Google Translate is also an option, but Cambridge Dict. gives more explanation to the words and their meaning.

Duolingo is also a great tool when learning Indonesian, but I have found that they don’t give you essential phrases when you start out. Which is really not the best.

And of course, there’s always IndonesianPod101 on the website or on YouTube (I use YouTube).

Hopefully, this helped you out a little more on your Indonesian journey. I hope my language learning life doesn’t get too hectic and I will continue this series.

The only reason I didn’t mention HelloTalk is because this was mainly something for self-studying people. If you want to use HelloTalk (a chatting service) then go ahead! Have fun, through and throughout.
