Development Update

01/27/25

Pelts are mobile optimized! (v 1.0, mobile designs will go through improvement iterations)

We've been working on fasttracking lower fidelity features to increase early beta playability. This is in lieu of the combat system being currently unrefined, this includes:

An "archetypes" system, which rewards intentioned breeding / genetic alterations of a cat

The fauna / faunapedia studying system

Working on economic intake forums for giving to beta testers

Codes were finished

Colors for Protogear are being selected (here is a preview), after which the queue includes the Obsidian Helm, the Iridescent Trail, and the Gilded Crest

The last Guard set pose is being worked on, in which the team will celebrate a full completion of all accessories on the first 3 starter breeds 🎉

The Monarch Scepter has also been put through the pipeline, and is under progress

I've been working on expressions in general for... the past month or two? And today, I finally screencapped a good handful to format them for donor dedications.

Each dedication takes a fair amount of time to put together, but today I finally decided to stop being a goomba about it and actually saved a Master PSD file -- so theoretically I won't have to deduce file sizes, rewrite "Thank you to:"s, or color in frequent-donor names every single time. Less time on this, more time on actual development.

The last time I updated Ko-Fi before today was 2 months ago though, which.. feels a bit shameful ngl ;;; I hope not to leave such a long gap going forward, but all the same can't make any promises bc who knows what the future holds, eh... I'll TRY not to leave a long gap though, regardless!

Anyway.

A lot of those Griffin expressions have actually been coded into the game - I have just a couple more bits that I "need" for him to wrap up the Super Demo scene I'm working on, I think.

Aside from Kofi stuff, I did some writing! But I think I'll talk more about that next week.
