In the initial years, Dakshayani says her husband couldn't understand what she actually did. "Sometimes I would go to work on Saturdays and he thought maybe that was because I was not doing my work properly," she says. But gradually he came to understand that satellites dictated his wife's work schedule, and "would not come when we wanted".

It has its roots in that, it is however culturally relevant for Indian women, Asian culture is collectivism, US culture is individualism, radical feminism whether from US or Europe cannot be applied piecemeal to Asia, it is up to the women within each country to have a say, to make it happen.
Indian feminists are amazing, they have managed to rise up against all odds.
Enjoying Indian thug life is the Gulabi Gang, an all female group started by Sampat Pal Devi. Armed with bamboo sticks, they unleash cans of whoop ass on abusive husbands, challenge caste systems, topple child marriages and rein in widespread corruption.
Next time you see a pair of chopsticks, remember the adult version is saving lives.

Chand is the first out LGBT Indian athlete, Chand faced criticism from her family who refused to accept her relationship with a woman. "How can we face our relatives and the society? What she is doing is immoral and unethical. She has destroyed the reputation of our village”, her father told Times of India. Her mom and sister doesn't support her as well. This is a common woe for Asian lesbians, family and community ties are highly valued, coming out means dealing with the guilt, shame and backlash of failing our families and communities. Feminism starts at home, equality starts at home. She is also the first Indian athlete to win a gold medal in the women’s 100-metre sprint at the 30th Summer University Games held in Naples. Kudos to Vogue India for featuring her on the cover, she is sizzling!

If you condemn “Indian Feminism” because activists protested rape laws that included men instead of strengthening an already watered down rape law that does nothing for female or child rape victims.
Rape in India has societal conotations that no second generation Indian living in the West would be able to comprehend. In fact, no Indian who’s run off for a better life and to earn in dollars or pounds or EU would ever risk coming back and depending on the grace of Indian laws when it comes to women or transgenders or any other marginalised group.
So if you’re going to arbidly say “Indian Feminism” does not deserve any support then you apparently have swallowed the kool-aid that INdian women are like White bread and mayo- featureless and uniformly monotonous.
When rape laws treat a 11y.o. victim the same as an older female (or male) those rape laws need to be revamped drastically. When activists questioned a whole load of loopholes and hidden tricks - all the government bodies did was to blame the activists because the objections also included questions about an ill-framed proposal to deal with male rape.
Rape also is enabled in the framework of caste, religion, and ethnicity (region or tribal peoples). Rape laws cannot be framed exactly like in the West. Even when it come to other genders.
So when you say Indian Feminism I can only assume that you’ve only been exposed to White Feminism and have not had conversations about intersectional feminism, which is the only place that educates and supports LGBT+ outisde of their own spaces.
