As the largest black bird in the world, with its lustrous black plumage and a raucous voice, the raven is seen as a symbol of power, mischief, mystery, wisdom and intelligence. Yet, it is in Bhutan where the raven is given its highest place both on the royal crown and as the national bird. The hallowed status of the raven in Bhutan stems from its association with the raven-faced deity, Legön Jarok Dongchen.... A wrathful deity with a large raven beak, Legön (or the Lord of Action) is one of the many forms of the chief dharma protector Mahakala and, as his name suggests, is known for effectiveness and speedy activity.

it's not sinking in that today might be the last day in my house and town for many months to come
#like how do i even feel#on one hand im excited because like now that i finally agreed to dads stupid whims he technically will have to give in to things#ive been wanting since FOREVER like going to the gym#plus it's impossible to eat junk food when he's there he won't even let me kacchi maggi because maida hai bimar ho jayegi#and aadhe se zyada din toh pyaaz ye sab nahi kha sakte so it rules out any outside food#which is so good because like i just found out im pre diabetic lol#like borderline sugar like ab kuch nahi kiya toh seedha type 2 diabetes#so i need to eat healthy or ill literally die#i mean eventually but whatever being diagnosed with this in my 20s would kill me#also simply the fear of living with him is so much that i HAVE to study#and i want to now it's high time#but yeah want doesn't really work for me#i read a quote somewhere that 'goals' don't mean anything because winners and losers have the same goals#and i was like WOAH. like the person who gets an all india rank had the same goal as me: to pass the exam with good marks#but they succeeded and i didn't so it's isn't our goals that differentiate us#which ik is obvious but like still idk put things in perspective#anyway yeah that way my life MIGHT be fixed#but there's also living ALONE with my sociopathic FATHER who has more mood swings than me on pms#and being cut off frm the rest of civilisation and yk developed roads and buildings and ice cream shops#i guess it is mostly food ig :( which is good like the most junk food i can eat there is a burger from a nearby stall and that's pretty#much it they literally do not even have havmor or anything in walking distance forget scoop wali ice cream#but i like my bed and i like my ceiling with the stars and i like looking out of my window and knowing that the first ever crush of my life#lives right next to me and i like knowing that ill meet my bestfriend atleast once a month#i don't really love my mom or my brother tbh but idk maybe ill miss them it's weird ive never lived without them#i don't know i really hope that this is like a boot camp kota types experience rather than so much isolation that i sink deep into#depression. but then ive hit pretty shocking lows this year so hopefully i can handle it#my sister did say that when she lived alone with him for a month it was quite peaceful and okay because he usually gets more angry when mom#is around warna mostly he's fine#i don't know i don't know bhagwan ji please ab aur mushkil mat banana life bohot jhatke de chuke ho already ab pls#mujhe apni galtiyo ko sudharne ka mauka dena 🙏

"You're here eating SOUP?! I just fought my way through the stinkiest, dirtiest, coldest giants to find you, and you are here eating soup. Behen, I am going to scream."

Of course we have all talked down a friend from committing suicide of course we never told this to anyone, not their parents not ours. We cannot tell the people who are supposed to care about it the most because they won't help, they don't know what to do and do the exact opposite. Of course you can't call a friend's mother "aunty I'm scared for them please talk them down." No. That will only lead to worsening the situation. They will scream, shout and beat their child before offering a kind word. They will say how can you do this to me? And never answer the questions how could they do this to their child. They will blame the phones, their friends when the phone is the one where they called a friend to stop them from ending it all. They won't understand that isolating them is a surefire way of making it worse, because they don't care about the child as much as they care about another aunty's opinion on what's going on. They will hide it they will never talk about it cause this society doesn't see children as people. Children are just puppets to their parents who are puppets to society. I hold each and every adult responsibile. I hold every teacher who said why won't you think ofyour parents, of every aunty who doesn't care about us gossiping in guise of care i hold each and everyone responsible for you have failed your child when you were supposed to protect them
The only ones you are protecting is society, those in power. You won't let your child say that the syllabus is shit nor will you let them say a bad word against teachers who deserve it(cause teachers are gods, don't you know? I guess even demons seem like gods to the blind)
You think of your child not as a person but just an extension of you therefore you never understand that your child had individual emotions you don't understand they are not you and not everything they do is about you
You Have never once considered what your child thinks or feels you have never once centred them in their life's decision. You expect them to follow your will, yyour desires. You say 'i gave them food shelter education ' congrats you fulfilled your duties. Congrats you are providing the basic needs of a child who you conceived of your own will. If you think they should fawn over you for it you should've stuck to dolls.
I blame you. I blame all those who have never been a safe space for someone to confide in, i blame you for not being there when your child is about to jump and instead for blaming their friends who are the ones who talked them down in the first place.
Think of your child as a person for once in your life.
Note : every "you" here is not the reader. You is referring to adults, parents who failed to provide a safe space, who centered themselves in a child's hurt.

Heam and I were discussing giving Zea a show where she just observes other nations like she's filming nature documentaries; when she gets to India and China's episode involves things such as
playing bluff and swearing at each other in sanskrit
arguing over the right way to prepare tea but agreeing how Zea does it Is Wrong
"when were you born, Eleanor?" "1840's" "oh my gosh INFANT"
"When I was a kid I didn't have fancy toys, I had a stick" "okay grandpa, you also didn't have half the domesticated animals"
they keep trying to give her Bits of Wisdom and she will not retain any of it
she asks them 3 separate times if they remember the wheel being invented. They keep avoiding the question.
lovely little segment called "Tai Chi vs. Yoga (i'm bad at both!!)"
basically she ends up interviewing them instead bc they're a little too boring to just Observe Them
Eli standing there with her little microphone "These two are proof dinosaurs once roamed the earth"
solid 30 min of complaining about English ppl
"are u guys dating" "no more questions" "i'll take that as 'its complicated'" "no" "too late"
"I spent the first three hours here bored out of my mind, and i'm leaving with two new great-great-great-great-great-grandparents, see you next week :)"

The massacre in the Rafah camp was absolutely horrible. No sane person will look at those images and videos and not be shaken to their core. They are beheading children, airstriking refugee tents indiscriminately.
Lots of people have been sharing this graphic on their IG stories - yes, it's disgustingly AI-generated and in the same lower-than-bare-minimum vein as posting a black square during the BLM protests, but i guess it's palatable enough that the average 'apolitical' social media user can share it and feel good about themselves. It's something at least.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Hindu nationalist reactionaries, like always, bring up minority Hindus only when another atrocity is happening. In the past 24 hours, I've despaired as so many of my old friends from school and college shared this graphic from a far-right page:
Tumblr media
The post that this image is from also shamed all Hindus for talking about Gaza and not the Kashmir exodus (which, I can't stress this enough, happened in the 1990s, more than 30 years ago) along with another disgusting AI-generated graphic of an Arab man standing over a white, blonde baby with big bold letters saying 'where were you on October 7th?'. Lowest of the low. Pathetic.
It's a reminder that all reactionaries - band together - function solely on hate and discrimination - only care about their pet issues so long as they work in opposition of other things they hate
