Actually it was surreal as hell to look at my transcript today. I've got all but 3 classes done or in WIP. I'd have to Severely fuck up to fail any of my classes this semester, by this point. Which I don't think will happen. Honestly I might even get straight A's for the first time in college. Which would be cool!!!
So just three classes left. Just three. It's so wild. I'm pretty excited.
#speculation nation#for the first time i actually glanced at the 'apply for graduation' option#to graduate at the end of spring id have to apply by sometime in february.#idk i'll bring it up with the advisor tomorrow. make sure im actually good to graduate with these 3 classes.#part of the problem is the fact that i didnt see the classes i have to take 2 of on the offered list#which makes me nervous about whether theyre even available next semester. and what id have to do to take them.#alternative options? or *waiting*? thatd be even worse. so im not sure yet.#the other thing is that my major started requiring students to take an internship in order to graduate#but since ive taken a long ass time my index year aka when k started doesnt have that as a requirement.#at least that's what my last advisor said :p so im nervous about if this new one says differently.#an internship would certainly be useful for getting work experience and resume padding#but i never wanted to before bcus i needed to work my job. that paid me Money. unlike the probable internship.#and also i dont have my license and i DEFINITELY dont want to TRAVEL. what would i do with my cats#?????#so i havent done an internship. and i dont intend to. but if he says it's actually required then id have to work to get one over summer#etc etc. then graduation would be delayed.#i really really hope it doesnt turn out like that. i really Really want to just be done already. by the end of spring.#spring 25 give it up for graduating spring 25#i was originally class of 19 lol but i like 25 better. in terms of numbers.#class of 15 for high school and 25 for college... yes#and YEAH it's taken me 10 years😭😭😭😭 thats why i dont want it to take any longer 😭😭😭😭 im so close i just wanna be DONE WITH IT!!!!!!#so fucking close i can taste it. im halfway done with my current semester too. So Fucking Close...

you can advertise how people can keep their hormones extra legally without supporting the fears about compounding at home. Plenty of people can vouch for specific providers of raw materials and have worked together to verify ways to make them work (for certain applications at least, not injectables) simply and easily and most importantly, cheaply. For some medications it *would* be insane to try to do it at home. Estrogen just isn't one of them.
sure, on the scale of home manufactured medicine estrogen is harder to fuck up. but I still don't think it's sensible or responsible to suggest it as an option to everyone, especially injectables which was what the posts I saw going around were describing and when there are sources for ready-to-use products available more easily. it's something I think could work at an economy of scale if you had someone genuinely experienced in compounding or at least with a chemistry background, to supply to others. that is what several of the DIY sources are doing after all. and maybe for the truly desparate, methods for making transdermal estrogen seem the safest to homebrew. but in general, for those unable to access HRT legally, DIY sources should be given as the first and highly preferable option, rather than homebrew suggested so lightly. the risks of Not properly knowing what you're doing should be taken seriously.

Many people mistakenly believe that significant wealth is a prerequisite for investment opportunities. However, this notion is unfounded. Small investments, made consistently over time, can accumulate and pave the way to financial growth. In this article, we will explore ten small investment ideas for beginners that offer low-risk options to kickstart your journey towards building wealth and securing a brighter financial future.
We will also provide insights on how to manage these investments effectively based on facts and proven strategies:
Mutual Funds: Embracing Diversification Mutual funds are an accessible entry point for beginners in the investment realm. These funds pool money from multiple investors to purchase a diversified range of assets, including stocks, bonds, and securities. Diversification spreads investments across different assets, reducing the risk of significant losses. With modest initial investments, mutual funds are an excellent choice for beginners.
Index Funds: Simplicity and Affordability Combined Index funds, a type of mutual fund, track specific market indices such as the S&P 500. They provide a straightforward and cost-effective way to invest in a broad range of stocks. For beginners lacking the time and expertise to select individual stocks, index funds offer diversification, lower expense ratios, and the potential for steady long-term growth.
Robo-Advisors: Simplifying the Investment Process Robo-advisors are online investment platforms that automate portfolio management and offer personalized advice. They are ideal for beginners seeking convenience and requiring minimal initial investment. These platforms provide automated diversification, real-time recommendations, and low-cost portfolio management, allowing gradual wealth accumulation.

now listen, i want to be clear up front that i think this website is probably a good service and there genuinely are a lot of manipulative tactics in games that create some kind of negative pattern. with that said, i wish the site were more up front with the fact that the “dark patterns” it points out aren’t necessarily inherent evils
for example:
Tumblr media
in particular here i want to point out competition. competition is, i think we can all agree, a pretty normal thing in games. it’s also not made clear why they think competition is a “dark pattern”. It’s simply presented alongside the others and given almost a laughably redundant definition. I mean, we all know what competition is.
What’s the point of that? There are some legitimate patterns it points out, such as time-gated objectives or game actions, that aren’t obviously manipulative, and it explains why they are. But some of the things it groups in alongside those aren’t clearly explained or, like the “encourages anti-social behavior” bullet point, paints in black and white an issue that isn’t actually very straightforward.
If you just casually scroll the website, this gives off the impression that all of the things it lists are Inherent Evils in game design; that even something like super smash bros. melee is the same kind of game as OP references. There IS a note about having to use your discretion and ask why a game developer has included the design elements the darkpatterns website discusses, but it’s hidden in the FAQ page, at the bottom, and can only be found after scrolling through their lists of “dark patterns”.
The whole website seems moralistic in a very Christian evangelical way, a la Focus on the Family. Many of the things it says are actual arguments I’ve had posed to me by Christian friends and relatives about why I shouldn’t play video games or why they’ve stopped. Which sometimes are fine reasons! But they’re also personal reasons! Some of those issues are valid reasons not to like or play a game, but they’re not inherently bad.
The reason this bothers me so much, though, is because some of the “dark patterns” ARE inherently bad. Loot boxes as a game mechanic ARE in fact inherently evil, but they’re on the same list as competition, with no distinction between the two. I think the service the website attempts to provide is good! But at best its packaging feels judgmental and at worst it’s diluting its valuable message by including things of wildly different severity without clarifying the differences. It’s as though someone put milk on a list of poisonous foods because they drank expired milk once and it made their tummy hurt.
I fucking hate game apps. I wanted to play tetris the otherday so I figured there must be a simple tetris app out there its the most basic game. But every app is like heres your daily log in bonus of 10 gold! You get 5 free plays a day. Here's an ad. To replay a level costs 1 diamond.
