Brahman
Brahman is the Indestructible and Supreme Spirit. It is present in every atom of creation, but remains there as the Viewer, not affected by creation. The individual soul is a part of Brahman.
Brahman is the universal principle in existence which pervades everything in existence. This supreme omniscient intelligence is in creation (manifested, as well as unmanifested: Para prakriti and Apara prakriti) and beyond creation.
Cosmic Brahman by Talon Abraxas
Mantra The vessel in which these offerings are placed is Brahman, and so, too, is the gheeoffered therein. Brahman is both the sacrificial Fire and he who makes the sacrifice, and to Brahman he will attain whose mind is fixed on the Brahman by the performance of the rites which lead to Brahman. Then, opening the eyes, and inwardly and with all his power making japa with the Mula-mantra, the worshipper should offer the japa to Brahman and then recite the hymn that follows and the Kavacha-mantra. Hear, O Maheshvari! the hymn to Brahman, the Supreme Spirit, by the hearing whereof the disciple becomes one with the Brahman.
Stotra
Ong! I bow to Thee, the eternal Refuge of all: I bow to Thee, the pure Intelligence manifested in the universe. I bow to Thee Who in His essence is One and Who grants liberation. I bow to Thee, the great, all-pervading attributeless One. Thou art the only Refuge and Object of adoration. The whole universe is the appearance of Thee Who art its Cause. Thou alone art Creator, Preserver, Destroyer of the world. Thou art the sole immutable Supreme, Who art neither this nor that; Dread of the dreadful, Terror of the terrible. Refuge of all beings, Purificator of all purificators. Thou alone rulest the high-placed ones, Supreme over the supreme, Protector of the Protectors. O Supreme Lord in Whom all things are, yet Unmanifest in all, Imperceptible by the senses, yet the very truth. Incomprehensible, Imperishable, All-pervading hidden Essence. Lord and Light of the Universe! save us from harm. On that One alone we meditate, that One alone we in mind worship, To that One alone the Witness of the Universe we bow. Refuge we seek with the One Who is our sole Eternal Support, The Self-existent Lord, the Vessel of safety in the ocean of being. This is the five-jewelled hymn to the Supreme Soul.
He who pure in mind and body recites this hymn is united with the Brahman. It should be said daily in the evening, and particularly on the day of the Moon. The wise man should read and explain it to such of his kinsmen as believe in Brahman. I have spoken to You, O Devi! of the five-jewelled hymn, O Graceful One! listen now to the jagan-mangala Mantra of the amulet, by the wearing and reading whereof one becomes a knower of the Brahman. --Worship of the Supreme Brahman

The concept of the Flame Imperishable is clear: it’s an aspect of Illuvatar’s creative will. However, since Tolkien drew inspiration from historical realism, that doesn’t mean the actual term is Christian inspired.
Probably. But I have an unorthodox take. Less a theory, more speculation: what if the term “Flame Imperishable” might be ancient Egyptian-inspired?
Here’s some data points:
“Flame Imperishable” is a Noldor term.
The Elvish love of stars is only rivaled by, and thus arguably inspired by, that of the ancient Egyptians.
Tolkien likened Numenorean architecture, innovation, and building prowess to that of the ancient Egyptians. Numenoreans had received innovative knowledge from the Noldor and Sindar.
A key innovator was Pharoah Djoser (pronounced Joe-zher) who built the first pyramid. He is also a biblical pharaoh.
At the rear of Djoser’s funery shrine, a small antechamber exists, built on this very particular tilt. Two small holes allow you to see Djoser — but he can also see you, see beyond you, for he faces true north.
True north hosts the Northern stars which the ancient Egyptians called the “Indestructible (Ones)” or “Imperishable (Ones)” which, to them, appeared to never move nor set. The idea is for Djoser to rise and join the stars, realm of the gods and heavenly reward, so he too can be imperishable.
Ancient Egyptians believed stars were made of fire/flame. As such, a fair translation of “Imperishable Ones” could be “Imperishable Fire/Flames” or even “Fire/Flames Imperishable”.
Most holy was the singular pole star. If it had an honorific title, it could be the “Flame Imperishable” or “Imperishable Flame.”
What do you think?

The Colors in ep. 10
During the torture scene of LMS they went through multiple types of colors, which I found pretty interesting as someone whos studied colors and their meanings intensely over the years. And as a lot in TKV has meaning and thoughts put behind it, I wanted to make a post highlighting the scene- and the colors specifically. It will also including short historical informations about each color.
Its starts with a mix of red and orange on the tables- making it look like vermillion (a color that borders orange and red and is also often times used in skin color shading), specifically HEX color FFD400. The color will come up later again.
Interestingly enough, since ancient times the color vermillion was regarded as the color of blood- thus of life. In Ancient Rome, the color was widely used to paint frescos, to decorate statues and produce cosmetics. It was also used in the Byzantine Empire reserved for the use of the imperial family and their administrators (used in official letters and imperial decrees) the illuminated manuscripts of the Middle Ages, in the paintings of the Renaissance, as well as in the art and lacquerware of China. The color can also be found all over the murals in Villa dei Misteri (Villa of Mystery before 79 AD) in Pompeii.
As the color of blood and life, it fits perfectly as the starting color of the whole scene.
LMS in the meantime is illuminated by white light.
Ironically- or fitting?- its the color of innocence, purity, hope and clarity. It represents goodness, perfection and peace. Looking at the color, it purifies the mind and helps to find balance. But like every color, it also has negative aspects such as coldness, emptiness, nothingness and distance. A lot of times, its also the color of self-reflection (VERY fitting if you’d ask me). White was one of the first colors used in Prehistoric cave art (good example are those at Lascaux in France) which feature marks and images made used calcite and chalk. Ancient Greece saw white as a sacred color (representing light and motherhood), in Rome plain white togas (togas virilis) were worn by all citizens at ceremonial occasions. During early christian times, they adopted the romans use of white- priests wore the color during mass as for them, white was symbolic of purity, humility and virtue (reinforced by the “white lamb” which was symbolic of christ’s sacrifice for humanity). Later, throughout the middle ages, white was strongly associated with martyrdom. It was also the commonly worn color by widows in mourning up until the 16th century- giving the color an association with death and refelection.
Illuminating a criminal like him in white is truly a choice. It does fit the intentions of the whole torture tho: redeption, hope and clarity.
In the same frame, centering the vermillion color, we can also see yellow and orange.
Yellow is the color of happiness and optimism. It clarifies and inspires the mind and helps in creativity- it also gives warmth. The negative associations with the color are caution, egotism, deception and cowardice. Yellow is also one of the oldest colors to exist and is seen in cave paintings 17.000 years old. Painters in the Middle Ages and Renaissance used “Indian yellow” to show an outsider. Most notably Judas Iscariot (again, pretty fitting to the whole biblical references found throughout TKV). In ancient religions, yellow was a sacred color. Just like gold, it was seen as eternal, imperishable and indestructible. Many religions worshipped the sun, and the sun gods were depicted wearing yellow. The Ancient Egyptians believed the gods had gold skin and bones and used yellow for their skin tone in art. Yellow is also an important color in Buddhism, signifying humility. It can also be found in paintings from Ancient Rome.
Orange symbolizes youth, enthusiasm and optimism. It uplifts and stimulates the mind. Its the color of creativity, warmth and spontaneity. On the other hand, it shows domination and impatience. Up until the 16th century it was called “saffron” or “yellow-red”. When Portuguese merchants brought orange trees to Europe from Asia in the late 15th and early 16th centuries, the citrus fruit’s name was adopted for the general color. In some cultures, orange is regard as a sacred color because it balances red’s power and yellow’s perfection. Monks and holy men in some Asian religions, like Buddhism, wear orange robes because that dye has been readily available historically. Buddhists also connect orange to the highest state of illumination. Its also the color of transformation in Confucianism. and a symbol of royalty.
Again, two colors highlighting the personalties of both LMS and KSJ in a well done way.
The color then changes to a dirty blue hue- with a slight turquoise shade.
Blue- the color of loyalty and trust. It gives the feeling of security, trust, confidence, peace, honesty and reliability. It calms and relaxes the brain. Negative feelings associated with blue are passiveness, depression and prediction. The history of the color blue is quite interesting: It was never a color to be found in nature (no, water isnt blue and the sky also changes colors and if there is indeed something blue found in nature its either with a violet or turquoise shade) thus, we humans previously were never able to even “see” the color (we perceived it, but we had no idea what it even was). The first society to have a word for the colour blue was the Egyptians, the only culture that could produce blue dyes at around 2.200 B.C: They loved the precious stones lapis and turquoise* so much that they invented the first synthetic blue pigment in order to affordably copy their unique color. “Egyptian blue” was made by mixing silica, lime, copper, and alkali, and it could be used on stone, wood, plaster, papyrus and canvas.
Turquoise on the other hand is the color of compassion, calmness and clarity. It balances and stabilizes the brain. It can help concentrate, to grow, and underline empathy. In contradiction it also symbolizes narcissism, stress and secrecy. The earliest evidence of turquoise* gemstones comes from Ancient Egyptian tombs: They contain elaborate turquoise jewelry dating back to 3000 BCE. Egyptians set turquoise in gold necklaces as well as in rings, used it as inlay, and carved it into scarabs. Most notably, King Tut’s iconic burial mask was extravagantly adorned with turquoise. The oldest turquoise mines are in the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt. One sat near an ancient temple dedicated to Hathor, the Greek goddess of love and joy who was worshiped as a protector in the desert and as the patron saint of mining. Egyptians called turquoise “mefkat”, which meant “joy” and “delight.” -> Ancient Persians also decorated extensively with turquoise, often engraving it with Arabic script. Turquoise covered palace domes: For them, its sky-blue color represented heaven. (This later inspired the use of turquoise in buildings like the Taj Mahal). They also adorned their daggers and horses’ bridles with it as they believed it granted protection. They would also wear turquoise gemstone jewelry around their necks and in their turbans. -> Meanwhile, pre-Columbian Native Americans mined the turquoise stone throughout the present-day southwestern United States. Shamans used it in sacred ceremonies to commune with the spirit of the sky. -> Apache Indians believed that attaching turquoise to bows (and later, firearms) improved a hunter’s accuracy. -> Turquoise became valuable in Native American trade, which carried North American material toward South America. -> Consequently, Aztecs cherished turquoise for its protective power and used it on ceremonial masks, knives, and shields.
Picking the color blue is again a really nice callback to the OST. PT3 (Blue by Aalia) and highlights the depression (or "death") KSJ went through.
Turquoise shining onto LMS face fits perfectly. The negative aspects highlight his persona.
After the blue, the color switches to green and here it is when it gets really interesting- this might be an even longer historical excurse than the turquoise one:
First we should start by looking at the positive associations to the color: It means harmony, safety, growth, health, hope, prosperity and luck. It helps the brain to revitalize, to relax and encourages. Negative aspects associated with the color are judgment, materialism and inexperience. And obviously the most famous ones: Envy and jealousy. We all know the famous saying “Green with envy” The history of the color green dates back to the Ancient Egyptians. To produce the color they used green earth and malachite, while the Ancient Greeks used verdigris. -> Malachite contains a high percentage of copper which makes it highly poisonous to humans when inhaling the dust or eaten. Once its polished its not poisonous anymore. -> Verdigirs is a common name for any variety of poisonous copper salts and acetic acids. Green had a resurgence in art during the Impressionist movement due to advancements in green pigments and paints.
The bold emerald green became popular in fashion in the 1800s, used for gloves and dresses- as well as wallpapers and furniture as well as found in candy, paper, toys, medicine and dye- it was also then it became an even more poisonous color. Its name varies from “Scheele's Green”, “Paris Green” to “Emerald Green” and “Schweinfurt Green”. And as it was probably already obvious, the color was loaded with copper arsenite which is one of the deadliest elements to have ever been found. Scheele’s green (invented around the 1775 by the Swedish chemist Carl Wilhelm Scheele) was an artificial colorant that was made by heating up sodium carbonate, adding arsenious oxide, and stirring until the mixture was dissolved. Copper sulfate was then added as the final ingredient which ends up giving it its vibrant green color ->(Arsenic is a highly toxic substance that causes skin lesions, vomiting, diarrhea, and in some cases, cancer) As said as it was quite popular in the 1800’s countries were riddled in this substance. ->(It has also been rumored to have killed the famous Napoleon Bonaparte.) Schweinfurt green is the product of combining copper acetate with arsenic trioxide, producing copper acetoarsenite. The toxic pigment was commercially developed in 1814 by the Wilhelm Dye and White Lead Company in Schweinfurt, Germany. It too was used everywhere, from clothing and wallpaper to colorant for fake flowers and paint.
By 1860 more than 700 tons of the pigment had been produced in the country alone.
There are stories of factory workers, mainly those who worked with fashion, suffering acid burning and losing their hair and limbs, specifically their hands, after they had been in contact with the color for way too long. “In 1871, a lady who purchased a box of green-colored gloves at a well-known and respectable house was horrified to find that her hands broke out in blisters after putting them on. Unless the dye was sealed, sweaty palms could cause the dye to run onto the wearer’s skin. Other accounts from this era tell of babies dying in their nurseries after playing on green carpets or rubbing up against green wallpaper. One foreign dignitary even told Queen Victoria that the green wallpaper in Buckingham Palace had made him ill.” On November 20, 1861, Matilda Scheurer, a 19-year-old artificial flower maker, died of “accidental” poisoning: The formerly healthy, “good-looking” young woman worked for Mr. Bergeron in central London, along with a hundred other employees. She “fluffed” artificial leaves, dusting them with an attractive green powder that she inhaled with every breath and ate off her hands at each meal. The brilliant hue of this green pigment, which was used to colour dresses and hair ornaments, was achieved by mixing copper and highly toxic arsenic trioxide or “white arsenic” as it was known. The press described her death in grisly detail, and by all accounts, Scheurer’s final illness was horrible. She vomited green waters; the whites of her eyes had turned green, and she told her doctor that “everything she looked at was green.” In her final hours, she had convulsions every few minutes until she died, with “an expression of great anxiety” and foaming at the mouth, nose and eyes. An autopsy confirmed that her fingernails had turned a very pronounced green and the arsenic had reached her stomach, liver, and lungs.
-> More on “Scheele’s Green” here
Green so not only fits the scene in relation to envy and jealousy, but also to its poisonous attributions. It again highlights KSJ previous personality (harmony) and LMS' (envy)- and the horrible deathly history behind the color makes it even more clear what type of person he is.
After the green, the room is then engulfed in yellow as well as vermillion (explained above) again-
Following this, the last change of color we see is red.
Associated with action, strength, energy and passion red helps to stimulate and motivate the mind, to pay attention and stay cautious. Its positive aspects are courage, desire, sexuality and confidence whereas its negative associations are anger, danger, revenge and aggression. Throughout history, the color red has represented many things: life force, the divine to love, lust, and anger. Throughout the Middle Ages, red was a color of privilege in the Western world. For many cultures, it was the only color worthy enough to be used for social purposes (“In some languages, the word for red was the same as the word for color”). One of the first color developed for painting and dying, red became associated with war, wealth, and power in antiquity. In the Middle Ages, red had a religious significance, as it was seen as the color of the blood of Christ and the fires of Hell. It also had a secular meaning: The symbolism of love, glory, and beauty. During the Protestant Reformation, red began to decline in status and fell out of favor: It was viewed as indecent and immoral as it was linked to luxury and the excesses of the Catholic Church. After the French Revolution, red gained new respect as the color of progressive movements, freedom, new liberties and radical left-wing politics.
Personally, I love how they not only picked red as the last color to highlight the anger and pain of KSJ but also how it illuminates both him and KMC in a different shade. While KSJ has the more darker red, underlining the more calmer anger, KMC is drowned in bright hot red- underlining his anger which he definitely does NOT have under control (hes holding back so much in that scene and if it wasnt for the death penalty awaiting KSJ if LMS would die, he would have killed him without hesitation). Also, the religious importance is another nice callback to all the religious imagery we have seen throughout the drama.
(might also add my delusions to the post: the red symbolizes the love they still feel for each other)
Intentionally or not, the way and order how they picked and presented the colors directly mirrors each character, their personal journey and the development of their anger. The fact it started with more calmer/friendlier colors and slowly turned into more agressive ones is done just beautifully.

Silm reread 6: the Shinies!
We are getting into things that divide the fandom a lot (= Feanor and his stuff), so one important note: in the reread posts, I am mentioning the stuff that I find interesting or I remembered differntly, or I did not remember. Those are generally things I wish to remember. Not cherrypicked points to prove anything. Just stuff that was surprising to me + seeking the meaning of "Darkness".
Also, I am a honorary (adopted?) Feanárion, but politically on the fence, pro-Valar, pro-Melkor-getting-over-his-bs, and I think Luthien was cool and Elwing was good (but not as cool as Luthien), but also that the sons of Feanor (Celegorm included) need help, and hugs, and generally something (something not being violence). TLDR: I am not interested in getting into a heated discourse.
OK, now for the reread proper:
A speculation (stated as such) of Feanáro having foresight that things will go bad soon. A more direct statement that he thought how to protect the Light of the Trees to make it indestructable (!)
Trauma foresight = the best foresight, it seems.
They loked like diamonds, so canonically white-ish. their fire is made of mixed Treelight, so I would assume warm white is canon.
They shone like stars of Varda but had real life inside — I really need this in English! OK, I googled it.
OH. Something else but: "he pondered how the light of the Trees, the glory of the Blessed Realm, might be preserved imperishable" — It may be me jumping on things + Tolkien's poetical wording, but this seems like a strong suggestion of "Fefe wanted to jump higher than his head" (he was not the first one) and sheds a light (pun intended) on his sttitude towards the Silmarils later.
Anyway back to that part about life: "and yet, as were they indeed living things, they rejoiced in light" So they are living things, not just "like" living things. Silmarills = baby Trees is canon! (OK, somewhat canon? but they *are* alive, and by logic they must be bred not made-in-the-strict-sense by Feanor)
So they glow by themselves with warm white, but also they are iridescent like diamonds. Beautiful indeed.
Everyone enjoyed them, fefe apparently had no problem showing them to others at this point. I would assume he ok-ed Varda doing her thing on them.
Aaand of course Melkor wants them too.
And, for some reason (I suppose just "it didn't occur to them it may be important") the Valar do not tell Elves that Men will be a thing. Except Melkor, who of course tells them. In secret. Yay. What a trustworthy source of information.
Melkor not understanding Men (I mean, understanding them even less than other Ainur do) because he was not paying attention is canon! :D XD Oh what an idiot. Like… "Nobody told me it will be on the test" attitude. and. this is canon. This is his canon attitude. How am I supposed to not pity him when he sounds so 12-year-old? Yea, he is terrible, but also so childish at times. I'm gonna bluescreen again. Also, he is a jerk very much.
And we get to the point when Fefe gets posessive on the shinies. (Also, Melkor never ever got even close to them)
also the book does not claim the Silmarils weren't his, just that the light living inside them was not his own nor his creation. which very much fits with my "Silms as living creatures" reading.
Melkor is conflicting everyone and projecting his issues on Fefe (BTW I wouldn't be surprised if at this point he tells himself that the Flame Inperishable was rightfully his and was stolen from him etc etc, he feels like he would do that)
Feanor makes a secret forge! That's… a bad idea but also kind of cool. Even Melkor does not find out. that's even cooler of Fefe.
We are explicitely told that Manwë did not react to Feanor speaking about leaving, because the Noldor came willingly and had the right to leave, which would be crazy (in the opinion of the Valar, which I do not agree with, but I do not agree with Feanor's attitude either) but the Valar would not stop them.
Banishment. Fingolfin does not usurp anyone, at least in Polish translation. Finwë moves to Formenos to his beloved son, leaving the ruling of Tirion to Fingolfin.
The jail-crow scene is even funnier after I realized it is after Melkor's lies were found out and he is actively hiding from the police Tulkas and Orome. He talks to Feanor at his gate and (judging from the door shutting at the end) it is either Feanor was coming back home and they talk in front of the gate, or Feanor actually opened the gate to talk with him. This makes it even better. Fefe literally kicks the once-most-powerful-Vala out of his house.
The "do not talk to Feanáro when he is thinking" rule strikes again.
#yes I can't name him consistently#also idk who came up with “Fefe” but I like it#silm#silmarillion#tolkien legendarium#the silm#the silmarillion#feanor#feanaro#feanáro#look hw many i did :)#silmarils#fefe the crafty-hair the first#silm reread#melkor#being a jerk#as usual#and getting yelled at#get thee gone from my gate#this phrase is so funny it has layers of funny#and shut the door at his face#polish misses the “face” part#like...#as if melkor was selling … what suspicious stuff do people sell door-to-door nowadays?#and then he goes there and murders finwe#like a creepy psychopathic door-to-door salesman from a 80s thriller#:/

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES
📅 SUN. 5TH MAY 2024
LIFE THROUGH THE SPIRIT
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you (Romans 8:11).
Pastor Chris Says
━━━━━━━━━━
No one can live the Christian life without the Holy Spirit. It’s impossible! Some believe the Holy Spirit is in us only to help us speak in tongues; no! He does much more in us, for us and through us. Consider for example what we read in our opening scripture: the Holy Spirit in you quickens—vitalizes—your mortal body. He gives life to your body.
That means there shouldn’t be death in any part of your body, because the Holy Spirit—the Spirit of life— lives in you. Hallelujah! Many have chanted our opening verse in songs and quoted it in sermons but have never responded to it as they should. The Word always requires your response. Ponder it again: the Holy Spirit in you makes alive your mortal body. Your response, therefore, should be: My body is invigorated with the life of God. I live in absolute health in Christ Jesus. Amen.
God wants you to be bold and never afraid of death. Be like Paul, who when he was bitten by a venomous serpent wasn’t moved. Others were waiting for him to fall down and die, but he shook the serpent into the fire. This was what he knew; he was conscious that nothing could hurt or harm the one in whom the Holy Ghost dwells.
Now that you’re born again, you’ve been brought from humanity to eternity, which means you’ve become incorruptible, indestructible and imperishable; you’re not subject to failure, defeat and death! This should be your consciousness—a consciousness of life through the Spirit just as the Bible says that if Christ is in you, even though the body may be dead because of sin, the Spirit gives it life because of righteousness (Romans 8:10). Be eternal life conscious.
🙏 P R A Y E R
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Dear Father, I thank you for the victorious life you’ve given me. You’ve brought me from death to life and made me incorruptible, indestructible and imperishable. I’m not subject to death or the destructive system of this world. I’m a partaker of your divine nature; eternal life is at work in me, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
📖 FURTHER STUDY:
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Romans 8:10-11 ESV;But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
[11] If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
John 1:12-13;But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
[13] which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
2 Timothy 1:9-10;who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
[10] but is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel

Sri Gita Saram — Verses from the Bhagavad Gita selected by Bhagavan by Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi
✨🕉✨
✨ Chanting by: Kum. Aditi ✨ Recorded by: Sri. Kuldeep Pai ✨ Presented by: Voice of Rishis - Nochur Sri Venkataramam
✨🕉✨
May the Supreme Lord who, as an embodiment of compassion appeared in the form of a charioteer to Arjuna and removed the distress of Arjuna by instructing him in words leading ultimately to Self-realisation and liberation, protect us all.
Sanjaya said:
1. To Arjuna, who was drowned in distress, with eyes brimming with tears of despondency and who stood there possessed by kṛpā (the Divine Power of Grace that will soon make Krishna transmit the teaching), Madhusudana began to speak thus. |2: 1|
Sri Bhagavan said:
2. This body, O Kaunteya, is called kṣhetra, the field; he who knows it is called kṣhetrajña by the sages. |13: 1|
3. And know Me as the kshetrajna in all kṣhetras, O Bharata. The knowledge of the kṣhetra and the kṣhetrajña is deemed true knowledge by Me. |13: 2|
4. O the great conqueror of sleep! I am the Self, seated in the heart of all beings. I am the beginning, the middle, and also the end of all beings. |10: 20|
5. Death is inevitable for he who is born, and rebirth is assured for him who is dead. You should not, therefore, grieve over the inevitable. |2: 27|
6. Never ever does He take birth or die. He is not given to appearing, disappearing and reappearing. Unborn, eternal, constant, ever-new and ancient, He perishes not when the body is destroyed. |2: 20|
7. He can neither be cut nor be burnt. He can neither be wetted nor be dried. He is eternal, all-pervading, stable, constant and everlasting. |2: 24|
8. Know that to be imperishable, by which the entire existence is pervaded. None can cause the destruction of the Indestructible. |2: 27|
9. That which is unreal has no existence. And the real never has non-existence. The truth of both these declarations has been perceived by the seers of Truth. |2: 16|
(The asat–non-existent–has no beingness, and the sat–that which is–never ceases to be. The essence of both these are beheld by the tattvadarsis–the Realised Ones.)
10. Just as the all-pervading akasa is not tainted, by reason of its subtlety, so the Self seated everywhere in the body is not tainted. |13: 33|
11. That, the Sun illumines not, nor the Moon, nor fire; having attained which they return not–that is My Supreme Abode. |15: 6|
12. That unmanifest realm, which is imperishable, is said to be the highest goal. Those who attain this realm, which is My Ultimate Primordial Abode, do not return. |8: 21|
13. Free from pride and delusion, with the evil of attachment conquered, ever dwelling in the Self, their desires being completely stilled, liberated from the pairs of opposites such as pleasure and pain, the undeluded thus reach that Goal Eternal. |15: 5|
14. He who casts aside the ordinances of the scriptures and acts on the impulse of desire attains neither perfection, nor happiness, nor the Supreme Goal. |16: 23|
15. One who sees the Supreme Lord present equally in all beings–the imperishable in the perishable-truly sees. |13: 27|
16. O Arjuna, scorcher of foes! Only by unswerving devotion can I, of this form, be known and seen in reality and also entered into. |11: 54|
17. O Bharata! The sraddha of every man is per his natural disposition; a person is made of his sraddha, and he is what his sraddha is. |17: 3|
18. He who has sraddha, attains Jnana. And having attained this Knowledge of the Self, he who is absorbed in it and has all the senses withdrawn, here and now, enters Supreme Peace. |4: 39|
19. To those who are constantly devoted and worship Me with immense love, I bestow upon them the buddhi-yoga (the yoga of discriminative wisdom), by which they come to Me. |10: 10|
20. Out of compassion for them, I, who dwell in their hearts, destroy the darkness of ignorance in them with the luminous lamp of Knowledge. |10: 11|
21. But, for those whose ignorance is destroyed by the knowledge of the Self, their knowledge illumines the Supreme, like the shining sun. |5: 16|
22. (The senses are not merely those visible in the body.) The senses are said to be superior to the body (as they are subtler than the body); the mind is superior to the senses; the intellect is superior to the mind, and what is superior to the intellect is the Atman. |3: 42|
23. Thus, knowing Him as superior to the intellect, restraining the self by the Self, slay, O mighty-armed, the enemy in the form of desire, difficult to overcome. |3: 43|
24. As the blazing fire reduces wood to ashes, O Arjuna, so does the fire of Knowledge reduce all karma to ashes. |4: 37|
25. One whose actions are devoid of desire and motivations and whose karma is all burnt by the fire of knowledge. Him, the sages call wise. |4: 19|
26. For the sages, who are free from craving and anger, who have mastered their minds, and who have realised the Self, the beatitude of Brahman pervades everywhere. |5: 26|
27. And with the refined intellect set in firmness, let him attain quietude little by little. Having established the mind on the Self, let him not initiate any more thoughts. |6: 25|
28. Whatever be the cause for the wavering and unsteady mind to wander, let him restrain it from that and subjugate it solely to the Atman. |6: 26|
29. …the sage who has controlled the senses, the mind, and the intellect, who is solely pursuing Liberation, who has cast away desire, fear, and anger, is ever liberated. |5: 28|
30. With the mind ever in yoga, he sees the same (Self) everywhere–his own Self in all beings and all beings in the Self. |6: 29|
31. Those devotees who intensely meditate on Me without their thought going to the ‘other’, I take care of their spiritual and worldly well-being. |9: 22|
32. Of these, the Realised One, who is ever established and is devoted only to one (Me), excels. Verily, I am dear to him, and he is dear to Me. |7: 17|
33. At the end of many births, the man of wisdom takes refuge in Me, realising that Vasudeva is all that is. Rare indeed is that great soul. |7: 19|
34. O Partha! He who has renounced all desires of the mind and is ever content only in the Self by the Self is said to be a sthitaprajna–a sage of steady Realisation. |2: 55|
35. That being who moves about freely, devoid of all longings, free of all desires and without the sense of ‘I’ and ‘mine’, attains Supreme peace. |2: 71|
36. He, by whom the world is not agitated, and whom the world cannot agitate, he who is free from excitement, irritation, fear and anxiety–such a one is dear to Me. |12: 15|
37. He who is the same in honour and dishonour, the same to friend and foe, and has abandoned all undertakings–is said to have risen above the gunas. |14: 25|
38. However, one who delights in the Self alone, has found completeness in the Self and is ever content in the simple existence of one’s being–such a one has no duty to perform. |3: 17|
39. (His fulfilment is eternally in his Self.) For such a Jnani, there is nothing to gain by action. Nor can anything be taken away from him by non-performance of action. He has nothing to gain from interacting with anyone ever in this world or the other. |3: 18|
40. He who is content with whatever life may bring, is free from the pairs of opposites, is without envy, and is equanimous in success and failure–such a one is not bound even while performing actions. |4: 22|
41. O Arjuna! The Lord dwells in the heart of all beings and, by His Maya, causes all beings to revolve as though mounted on a machine. |18:61|
42. Seek refuge in Him alone with all your heart, O Bharata. By His grace, you shall gain Supreme Peace and the Eternal Abode. |18:62|

The following headcanons are additions to my "Melkor and his baby dragons" headcanon post, and I deliberately left them out of the original post because I wanted to keep it fairly happy and fluffy.
Warnings for dead dragons and grief.
♕ Few losses in the Wars of Beleriand hurt Melkor as much as his dragons being slain. He would always feel their deaths no matter how far away they were - since they contained bits and pieces of his power and essence, they were extensions of his being
♕ Deep down, he knew that he was forever unable to create truly independent life on his own without the Flame Imperishable. He knew that, in the end, his dragons were and would always remain animals, even if intelligent and capable of speech, their minds tied to his and their voices containing the echo of his
♕ Yet he still grew to love them and pushed the boundaries of his Valarin abilities to create beings that were at least a convincing illusion of sentient life made by himself, for himself and without Eru
♕ He never attempted to pray to Eru and ask him to give them fëar. Pride was a contributing factor, but Melkor also knew that Eru would either not answer him at all or decline his request and berate him for even attempting to create independent life
♕ While others may call him delusional for getting attached to "mere beasts" as if they were his children, he could neither help it nor regretted what he did
♕ The deaths of the dragons also took a toll on his overall well-being and weakened him due to investing quite a bit of power into them, especially great members of their kind like Ancalagon, significantly contributing to his state at the end of the War of Wrath on a physical and mental level
♕ Due to them not having fëar, their deaths meant that they were gone and wouldn't go to the Halls of Mandos or another place where they could be found and reembodied. The only thing Melkor can hold on to is his memories of them; and even if he used those to create new dragons in their likeness, they would never quite be the same. He knows that these losses are permanent, something that's especially incomprehensible and painful for Ainur, as they're used to immortality and the indestructibility of fëar

RHAPSODY OF REALITIES DAILY DEVOTIONAL

EVERLASTING LIFE
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).
Our opening verse is about the most popular verse of the Bible. It contains the most powerful and most informative word of all the Scripture. It says anyone who believes in the Son of God has everlasting life, meaning they’re separated from destruction, waste, failure, damage, etc.
What is everlasting life? Is it just life that goes on and on? No; this definition doesn’t even scratch the surface of what it is. To understand everlasting life, you first have to know what eternal life is. This might come as a surprise to some people who thought they were the same. Not exactly; there’s a difference.
To be eternal is to be ageless: ageless without a beginning and ageless without an end. It’s a life that has no beginning and it has no end; it’s timeless. Eternity, thus, refers to timelessness and agelessness. More specifically, it’s a life that’s incorruptible, indestructible, imperishable, unending, and not subject to failure or death. This is the life and nature of God.
That’s why He’s called the Eternal One. The Bible says in Psalm 90:2, “Before you created the hills or brought the world into being, you were eternally God, and will be God forever” (GNB). Everlasting life is eternal life with a beginning; it has a beginning but no end.
The angels, for instance, have eternal life with a beginning. Though they live forever, they had a beginning. God, however, has no beginning; He’s absolutely eternal. The angels became eternal because God, the Eternal One, made them everlasting. To make them everlasting, He had to impart them with eternal life. When you’re born again, you receive eternal life, and become everlasting. You’re brought from your humanity into eternity. Receiving that life is your first entry into it; that’s the beginning of your life in eternity. From there on, you take off and become a part of an endless life that’s imperishable, indestructible, and incorruptible.
PRAYER I have received eternal life, and I’m absolutely death-free, incorruptible, indestructible, imperishable, not subject to failure, depravities and diseases because the law of life is operational in me! Divinity dwells in me, as I live the transcendent life! Glory to God!

VICTOR HUGO - 'THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE-DAME' (FIRST PUBLISHED 1831)
First sentence:
'On the 6th of January 1482 the Parisians were awakened by the noise of all the bells within the triple circuit of the City, the University, and the Town ringing in full peal.' (Hugo, 2012, p.7).
On printing:
' "No more manuscripts - no more books! Printing puts an end to bookselling - the end of the world is coming!" ' (Hugo, 2012, p.20).
'The invention of printing was the greatest event in history. It was the supreme revolution. It meant the complete renovation of humanity's mode of expression, the discarding by human thought of one form to reclothe itself in another ... In the form of print, thought becomes more imperishable than ever; it is winged, intangible, indestructible.' (Hugo, 2012, p.175).
On Quasimodo:
' "It's Quasimodo the ringer! It's Quasimodo the hunchback of Notre-Dame!" ' (Hugo, 2012, p.49).
'It was sixteen years before the period of our story that on a fine morning of the first Sunday after Easter - called in England Low Sunday, and in France, "la dimanche de la Quasimodo", or "Quasimodo Sunday", from the word "Quasimodo", which commences the Latin offertory appropriated to the mass of that day - that a young child had been deposited, after mass in the cathedral church of Notre-Dame ... ' (Hugo, 2021, p.136).
'He baptised his adopted child by the name of Quasimodo; whether it was that he chose thereby to commemorate the day when he had found him, or that he meant to mark by that name how incomplete and imperfectly moulded the poor little creature was.' (Hugo, 2021, p.144).
'That which he loved above all in his materiall edifice - that which awakened his soul, and made it stretch forth its poor pinions which it kept so miserably folded up within its cavern; that which sometimes made him happy - was the bells.' (Hugo, 2021, p.147).
On the Cathedral of Notre-Dame:
' ... ascend, on the morning of some great holiday, at sunrise, on Easter or Whitsunday, to some elevated point from which your eye can command the whole capital, and attend the awakening of the chimes. Behold, at a signal from heaven - for it is the sun that gives it - those thousand churches starting from their sleep." ' (Hugo, 2012, pp.133-4).
' ... this furnace of music - these thousand voices of brass, all singing together in flutes of stone three hundred feet high - this city which is all one orchestra - this symphony as loud as a tempest.' (Hugo, 2012, p.135).
On life:
' " ... man is not formed to pass his life in tambouring and biting chairs." ' (Hugo, 2021, p.240).
' "At one time I loved women - then animals - now I love stones. They are quite as amusing as animals or women, and not so false." ' (Hugo, 2012, p.360).

🌷 Translation : The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: It is said that there is an imperishable banyan tree that has its roots upward and its branches down and whose leaves are the Vedic hymns. One who knows this tree is the knower of the Vedas.
🌹 Purport : After the discussion of the importance of bhakti-yoga, one may question, “What about the Vedas?” It is explained in this chapter that the purpose of Vedic study is to understand Kṛṣṇa. Therefore one who is in Kṛṣṇa consciousness, who is engaged in devotional service, already knows the Vedas.
The entanglement of this material world is compared here to a banyan tree. For one who is engaged in fruitive activities, there is no end to the banyan tree. He wanders from one branch to another, to another, to another. The tree of this material world has no end, and for one who is attached to this tree, there is no possibility of liberation. The Vedic hymns, meant for elevating oneself, are called the leaves of this tree.
This tree’s roots grow upward because they begin from where Brahmā is located, the topmost planet of this universe. If one can understand this indestructible tree of illusion, then one can get out of it.

Implications of the Resurrection
²⁹If there is no resurrection, what do these people think they’re doing when they are baptized for the dead? If the dead aren’t raised, why be baptized for them? ³⁰And why would we be risking our lives every day?
³¹My brothers and sisters, I continually face death. This is as sure as my boasting of you and our co-union together in the life of our Lord Jesus Christ, who gives me confidence to share my experiences with you. ³²Tell me, why did I fight “wild beasts” in Ephesus if my hope is in this life only? What was the point of that? If the dead do not rise, then
Let’s party all night, for tomorrow we die!
³³So stop fooling yourselves! Evil companions will corrupt good morals and character. ³⁴Come back to your right senses and awaken to what is right. Repent from your sinful ways. For some have no knowledge of God’s wonderful love. You should be ashamed that you make me write this way to you!
Our Resurrection Body
³⁵I can almost hear someone saying, “How can the dead come back to life? And what kind of body will they have when they are resurrected?” ³⁶Foolish man! Don’t you know that what you sow in the ground doesn’t germinate unless it dies? ³⁷And what you sow is not the body that will come into being, but the bare seed. And it’s hard to tell whether it’s wheat or some other seed. ³⁸But when it dies, God gives it a new form, a body to fulfill his purpose, and he sees to it that each seed gets a new body of its own and becomes the plant he designed it to be.
³⁹All flesh is not identical. Animals have one flesh and human beings another. Birds have their distinct flesh and fish another. ⁴⁰In the same way there are earthly bodies and heavenly bodies. There is a splendor of the celestial body and a different one for the earthly. ⁴¹There is the radiance of the sun and differing radiance for the moon and for the stars. Even the stars differ in their shining. ⁴²And that’s how it will be with the resurrection of the dead.
⁴³The body is “sown” in decay, but will be raised in immortality. It is “sown” in humiliation, but will be raised in glorification. ⁴⁴It is “sown” in weakness but will be raised in power. If there is a physical body, there is also a spiritual body. ⁴⁵For it is written:
The first man, Adam, became a living soul.
The last Adam became the life-giving Spirit. ⁴⁶However, the spiritual didn’t come first. The natural precedes the spiritual. ⁴⁷The first man was from the dust of the earth; the second Man is Yahweh, from the realm of heaven. ⁴⁸The first one, made from dust, has a race of people just like him, who are also made from dust. The One sent from heaven has a race of heavenly people who are just like him. ⁴⁹Once we carried the likeness of the man of dust, but now let us carry the likeness of the man of heaven.
Transformation
⁵⁰Now, I tell you this, my brothers and sisters, flesh and blood are not able to inherit God’s kingdom realm, and neither will that which is decaying be able to inherit what is incorruptible.
⁵¹Listen, and I will tell you a divine mystery: not all of us will die, but we will all be transformed. ⁵²It will happen in an instant —in the twinkling of his eye. For when the last trumpet is sounded, the dead will come back to life. We will be indestructible and we will be transformed. ⁵³For we will discard our mortal “clothes” and slip into a body that is imperishable. What is mortal now will be exchanged for immortality. ⁵⁴And when that which is mortal puts on immortality, and what now decays is exchanged for what will never decay, then the Scripture will be fulfilled that says:
Death is swallowed up by a triumphant victory!
⁵⁵So death, tell me, where is your victory?
Tell me death, where is your sting?
⁵⁶It is sin that gives death its sting and the law that gives sin its power. ⁵⁷But we thank God for giving us the victory as conquerors through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One. ⁵⁸So now, beloved ones, stand firm, stable, and enduring. Live your lives with an unshakable confidence. We know that we prosper and excel in every season by serving the Lord, because we are assured that our union with the Lord makes our labor productive with fruit that endures.
1 Corinthians 15:29-58

#AFFIRMATIONTRAIN 21ST APRIL.
DIVINE LIFE SURGES THROUGH MY BEING…
I affirm that I am a member of the body of Christ. The Word is building me strong and helping me see from a different plane. I am invincible, indestructible and impregnable. Hallelujah! I have the wondrous, incorruptible, imperishable, miracle-life of God in me. I am an associate of the God-kind! The very essence of divinity is at work in me, and that divine life surges through my being, repelling sickness, disease, infirmity, death, poverty, and everything that is inconsistent with the provisions of the Gospel of Christ.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! My mentality and response to life are different because I have the mind of Christ. I can’t think failure, defeat or impossibilities; for the ability of the Spirit has been granted unto me to achieve supernatural results in my assignment. I know who I am, Christ is alive in me! I am conscious of the inherent features of the God-life in my spirit! I’ve been fashioned for glory, beauty, and excellence; I bring forth good things today because my heart is a treasury of blessings.
I am an offspring of the Most High, possessor of heaven and earth, and I’m the seed of Abraham, heir of the world. My prosperity is unlimited, for I was born with wealth untold. I lay up gold as dust, and the riches of the nations gravitate to me. Hallelujah! I am a success; and my path is as the shining light, which shines brighter and brighter unto the perfect day. I am making tremendrous progress from glory to glory, bringing forth abundant fruits unto God in righteousness. Blessed be God. Hallelujah!
