Papers, Please is an indie game where you play as an immigration officer assigned by a labour lottery to work for the Ministry of Admission of the fictional communist country of Arstotzka (reminiscent of Eastern European countries at the time of the Cold War). Your job is to control the flow of people entering the country, and you are responsible for deciding who gets to enter and who gets turned away or worse. Who you choose to let in can have wide and deadly implications, so every document stamped feels like the cutting of a wire on a bomb. You will have to process enough passports to put bread on the table for your family, or they will perish.

As you take control of the protagonist and begin exploring the abandoned office building, a snarky British narrator explains each of your decisions before you make them.

Subnautica is a indie game set in the future on an aquatic alien planet. You will descend into the depth of this marine world, filled with resources, creatures, wonders and threats. Find resources to craft equipment and submarines to aid exploration. When exploring, you are forced to rely on a compass and location markers. The ocean-atmosphere is both beautiful and at the same time terrifying.

And you will play as a samurai called “The Dragon” and he’s addicted to a drug that makes him slow the time and predict what’s going to happen.
