So for the past 2 days I’ve had a song on loop and it spawned this whole story in my head for the fic May Death Never Stop You by Slexenskee, please enjoy ^^
So back in the day when the band was just starting out and it didn’t even have all its members, gojo got realllll into his feels about his past life as he sang “I like the way you kiss me” by Artemas in remorse of the fact he never actually got to kiss suguru.
So this song gets played once then it isn’t heard of again. UNTIL. Someone posts online asking if anyone else ever remembers that song and it starts a whole thread of people saying yes and trying to remember the lyrics, and all the lyrics are all over the place and all hope is lost of even getting two words correct with it when someone uploads a video they took of that song that actually has semi decent audio and allows people to hear all the lyrics. All is fine until some sixwings detectives put together that Gojo and Hawks were in fact not together during that time and gojo is talking about ANOTHER LOVER HE HAD.
I mean sure of course the guys dated people before, and there’s the fact that many believe that all gojos songs mean nothing (but he sang so passionately that it had to mean something this time), but this is gojo we are talking about. Famous musician as well as most powerful villain and hero whose currently dating the current number 2 hero on top of all that. You just know his ex isn’t just your average Joe. The theories and video spread like wildfire.
BECAUSE WHOEVER THAT GUY WAS, GOJO REALLY LOVED HIM! LIKE PROBS AS MUCH AS HE LOVES HAWKS BECAUSE WHO ELSE GOT A HEART BREAK/LOVE SONG WRITTEN FOR HIM BY GOJO. SOUND THE ALARMS! HAWKS HAS COMPETITION!
So even more detectives pour in, all trying to find out whose gojo’s ex is. Now of course the man of the hour isn’t currently in touch with the internet at that moment because he’s probs saving the world somehow, so he can’t even rejoice (or get incredbly depressed thinking about his past life crush/love who he never got a happy ending with) in the chaos he’s causing unintentionally all over the internet which is slowly trickling into his friends/bands lives because everyone’s trying to get the scoop on which other powerful hero’s got to date THE biggest bachelor in Japan whole history.
Now all his friends from that old period of time knew that gojo slept around but the guy was never actually was in love, or dated, any of the guys he was with, so they ignore this.
That is until they get in touch with gojo, inform him of the mess expecting a laugh of the situation but all they get is a deeeeeeeeeeeep sigh. What? Was there someone?? Who???
Now hawks this whole time is chilled cos he knows the internet and he knows gojo. He knows there’s nothing to worry about (this is pre fight) so even when he hears from trustable sources that gojo did write a semi heart break song about someone else, hawks knows their relationship is safe and stable. He also knows that internet has brought up bad memories for gojo.
So when they see each other again hawks gets to shower gojo with all the love and happiness he missed from his past life. The end.
But y’all should listen to the song cos it’s so good 🤭

Okay one more thing, sorry if someone has said this already. But i still think its incredbly weird that CX-2 had a bit of screen time only to be no one. And I'm not even saying it needed to be Tech its just ????
And then there was more? I am ngl. It feels like it was a bit much there. I do have some. Flaws but I'm a little bit okay with it for the trade off being everyones okay ( except Tech 😔 ). I just think its a bit weird to introduce some new Villain and have him be mysterious only for him to get killed in a not so "oh shit" death.
And i won't even lie, when Hemlock released the rest i thought they were zombies considering that one shot.

SPONTANEOUS ASK favorite crackship and why???
genuinely have been thinking about this so hard since i received it. like i've never really thought to RANK crackships before - and tbh, half my actual ride-or-die otp-tier ships are arguably crackships by SOMEONE'S standards
...ok now that i'm typing this out, i've realized the obvious answer here. it's adonis x adrienne. they're just so fucking funny. step-father adonis to nerissa and poseidon? hilarious. adrienne calling avery homophobic slurs for having a crush on her and then turning around 20 years later and getting with her brother? absolutely unhinged behaviour. adonis continuing to defend his abusive wife while entering into a mid-life situationship with his little sister's childhood best friend? so insane it loops into being in-character. adrienne cannot stand in the same room as him for 2 seconds without wanting to punch him in the face. adonis has no spine whatsoever but he's also going to try to dictate her political beliefs. like theres just so much potential in those two.
that being said, i know this ask is actually about pokemon ships deep down. so sorry for derailing with my ocs. let me come up with a pokemon crackship for posterity.
GENERALLY speaking, pokemon crossover concepts are fucking incredble. e.g. silver and ash is a dynamic i've seen a few times that always just makes me sjkdfghjkdfjghk also, a lot of things that really SHOULD be considered crackships are actually just. weirdly popular ships in this fandom (rivalcrush immediately springs to mind. like who conceived of this and why. how did it become so widely loved. i have so many questions that i frankly do not want answered). then you have your pokemon ships too right. krazy is another ship i feel just. slapped me in the face when i discovered how genuinely popular it is. the huge library of ash x pikachu fics that were. hilariously. so much more popular pre-dp when a lot of people still headcanoned ash's pikachu as female. like no one is doing normalized crack like the pokemon fandom.
anyway. having said all that. while pokemon live obviously gave us the gem that is diamondshipping, it also gave us something else. the absolutely unparalleled giovanni professor oak dynamic. so after a lot of thought - that's my answer. but like, EXCLUSIVELY in the context of pokemon live. or the delia inclusive polycule. thank you for coming to my ted talk

Character Post: Nabooru
Tumblr media
Nabooru
Age 25
Height 7'0"
Female
Fullblood Gerudo The next Gerudo Leader, Theif
Nabooru works on Zelda's team to restore Hyrule. They are all known as The Wise 3. They are working to find the other sages to rescue Link and save Hyrule. Nabooru and Zelda are kindling a new relationship as the rulers of their own fallen kingdoms. They have grown incredbly close over 2 years of the founding of this group.
Nabooru had never liked the ideals of Ganon nor the ideals of Twinrova. She wanted to find a way to come to an agreement peacefully, or simply find new lands to inhabit. This caused her to become an outcast among many. She resorted to a troublesome childhood and became a theif. She met Link at The Spirit Temple 17 years ago and after looting the temple together, formed a friendship. Shortly after their treasure, The Silver Gauntlets, is found; Twinrova finds the two and attacks Nabooru while Link runs for his life. 7 Years later Link releases her from the armor and spell that Twinrova had put on her. She finds herself wanting to reform the Gerudo tribes and bands together the remaining Gerudo who did not go with Ganon to start anew. Zelda eventually recruits her to The Wise 3 where they seek to destroy Ganon for good.

Season 2 Episode 4 of the Wheel of Time Show may have converted me into a fan. Don't get me wrong it is a terrible, terrible adaptation. But it finally feels like it's standing on it's own two feet. Up until now it was in a in between space of too far from the books to be a good adaptation but too close to be it's own thing, it left me incredbly frustated. I strongly disliked season 1 and was expecting the same from season 2.
But now it feels like it's found it's own identity. I still would've preferred an actual adaptation but I'm actually excited to see where the show goes from now!

MCU PANNEL; Florence Pugh
Tumblr media
1.) Who do you play? hi i'm florence pugh and i play Yelena Belova in the marvel franchise 2.) If you could be anyone else in the MCU, who would you be and why? oh now that is a tough question - it's such a think about question because there is too many amazing people to choose from? but if i did had to pick i would probably pick either spider-woman because she is so bad ass and doesn't give two beep Iron man because he's so quirky and also gets beep done doesn't he? 3.) How has being part of the MCU changed your life? It's changed my life for the better, being apart of such a huge franchise is just an incredble exprience so many people get excited about the movies and you tell them you're in one and they get so excited, it's like marmite isn't it? you either love it or hate it and i for one love it. 4.) Is there anything about your character you wish you had more control over or would do differently from the movie? um honestly no not really? like i said it's been a crazy ride and sometimes when you are new to such a huge thing already you kind of want them to take most of the direction and just make the character your own. 5.) Is there a certain comic book or scene you want to see your character play? now i would have loved to have been doctor strange, or character from that because that would have been interesting wouldn't it? 6.) Who is another MCU character you wish you could have scenes with or your character would get along best with? that is a fun question to ask isn't it!! i personally think my character gets along with her eniemies best because it's more fun though of course she gets on well with her mother the most is that cliche to say? 7.) What upcoming MCU project are you most excited for and why? i'm excited for thunderbolts my personal project that is coming out soon is that cliche to say? people should go and see that when it drops into the universe!! see what i did there? 8.) Would you ever consider joining the DCU and if so as who? um…..as if you would ask someone that question!! how dare you, i'm team mcu all the way, dcu sucks!! i'm kidding maybe, prehaps.

Where did this whole “Voyd is Trans” thing even come from? Knowing Tumblr, probably nowhere, but I am curious if there was some sort of thought process when it came to head canon-ing that.

Incredibles 2 or Yeah I Suppose it Was Alright or Whatever
I was pretty late to the Incredibles 2 party and so had inadvertently heard lots of opinion about it beforehand. Most people’s reviews seemed to land firmly in one of two camps: it was a real let down or that it blew people away and was the best movie they had ever seen. So, I went into the film with confused expectations. However, I have to say that I came down firmly in the middle - I thought Incredibles 2 was a solidly good movie. I was pleasantly impressed and I enjoyed myself, but I’m not fanatically hyping it up like so many people did to me. The women of Incredibles 2, on the other hand, were truly deserving of that moniker.
*Incredibles 2 spoilers follow*
Helen Parr, or Elastigirl, (Holly Hunter) took much more of a leading role in Incredibles 2 and a large chunk of this movie was about her coming to terms with her independent worth as superhero, separate from her husband Bob, or Mr. Incredible, (Craig T. Nelson). Elastigirl really took centre stage, as it was pointed out that, whilst both her and Mr. Incredible were good in a fight, she has much more control, tact and finesse. Because of this, wealthy brother and sister duo Winston (Bob Odenkirk) and Evelyn Deavor (Catherine Keener) select Helen over Bob for a public relations media stunt to restore the reputation of superheroes. Bob’s bitterness is immediately evident to a cringeworthy degree, and the rest of the film deals with them both coming to terms with their new roles.
Despite both Helen and Bob being crime fighting vigilantes on an equal footing by night, it does seem as though Helen is a stay at home mum and Bob is the one with a day job and career. Therefore, Helen leaving the family to work solo is a shock to both systems. Bob is immediately overwhelmed with what taking care of a family actually means, and his struggle goes a long way to validating the hard work Helen puts in to running things at home on a daily basis. In addition. Bob realises that he needs to do this so that Helen can have her moment in the spotlight and her chance to receive the acclamation that she deserves; he says, “I’ve got to succeed so she can succeed.” By the end of the movie, with a lot of help from a variety of others, Bob learns what it means to be an actively participating father, and it’s good to see a man being allowed to develop emotionally as a person in a traditionally feminine space; that of the domestic home.
Helen, on the other hand, seems to take to her new role with relative ease. She juggles performing amazing elastic based physics stunts on a motorcycle in a high speed chase with helping her son Dash (Huck Milner) find his shoes down the phone. Furthermore, once she has saved the entire monorail from utter destruction, Helen makes sure to ask how Bob is and check in on every member of the family before allowing herself to unload her excitement and pride in her accomplishments. As if this list needs any more added to it, not only can Helen competently pilot a helicopter, but she also checks that all the civilians inside can swim before booting them out of the door to relative watery safety. Helen is not only a caring, giving and loving wife and mother but also a brave and powerful superhero.
As part of Helen’s independent mission, she forms new relationships outside of her nuclear familial bonds. The most notable of these is with Evelyn, her aforementioned benefactor. The pair have a wonderfully genuine conversation about trying to succeed as a woman in a man’s world and attempting to be a female influencer. Evelyn has many impressive traits of her own - she is clearly the brains of the operation where her brother is more of a frontman and people person, once again highlighting the prominence of men taking credit for female achievements. Evelyn is a skilled designer and inventor, as well as apparently being in charge of company analytics. It’s such a shame, therefore, that Evelyn became the villain of this movie, although her motives are logical and well thought out. Evelyn is portrayed as much more mature than her brother, and accuses him of conflating the idea of superheroes existing with a time when his parents were alive, showing her to be more emotionally sophisticated and giving some credence to her role as the antagonist.
Incredibles 2 is somewhat characterised by relationships between powerful women, however brief they may be, and the mutual respect between Helen and the unnamed Ambassador (Isabella Rossellini) is one such example. After Helen saves her, the pair share the short exchange, “Bring lasting peace!”, “I will! When you defeat evil!” This tiny slice of dialogue might seem insignificant, but it’s so rare for women to interact on screen in such a mutually supportive way that has nothing to do with men that it’s worth noting. Especially when both women are acknowledging the power and responsibility they both hold. It is somewhat annoying that the ambassador is not granted a name, but in the same way that this is dehumanising to some extent, it also solidifies her position as a figure of authority who commands respect. Furthermore, as always, it’s good to see an older woman in a position of power.
One relationship that was somewhat absent was that of Helen and her daughter Violet (Sarah Vowell). This is, of course, because Violet is spending more time with her dad, which is also very important, and their relationship strengthens as they both develop a better understanding of each other. If I hadn’t seen the first Incredibles, I’d say that Violet’s character undergoes a journey of significant growth. However, she deals with much the same issues as she does in the first film - wrestling with not wanting her superpowers, accepting them and the responsibility that goes with them and therefore becoming more confident as a person, specifically with regard to her interactions with the opposite sex. All of this would be great if it wasn’t basically exactly what Violet went through in the previous movie. This is especially weird seeing as Incredibles 2 starts exactly where it’s predecessor finished, with Violet talking to her high school crush, Tony (Michael Bird), and then this film ends with them on a date. So, I can’t help but feel as though poor Violet is stuck in a bit of a developmental time loop.
One new - although again very brief - female relationship is that Violet has with a new superhero, Voyd (Sophia Bush). There’s a short but touching scene of the pair complimenting each other towards the end. Boyd is a very honest character, who serves to exemplify the metaphor of superheroes as any marginalised group by speaking about how she felt ostracised because of her abilities, and therefore how glad she is now to be a part of this new superhero family. Speaking of which, this new team assembled by the Deavor siblings - if we do not include Elastigirl - has a ratio of 5:1 male to female members, so this is either another comment about making it in a man’s world, or just some shitty statistics.
One final named female character remains, everybody’s favourite, Edna Mode (Brad Bird). Edna continues to be an endless fountain of witty, acerbic one-liners, but even she has some more in depth development in Incredibles 2. Bob leaves her with his baby, Jack Jack (Eli Fucile), so that she can design a super suit for him once he starts showing his powers, and Edna protests, “I am not a baby person, Robert. […] I am an artist!” This could have resolved itself in a very saccharine way, with Edna’s long dormant maternal instincts finally surfacing. However, the opposite happens, and Edna instead influences Jack Jack, bringing out the artist in him - he even begins to mimic Edna’s mannerisms and movements. They part ways as creative collaborators, not surrogate mother and baby.
Overall, Incredibles 2 is mainly the story of Helen as Elastigirl, and by extension, the story of women everywhere battling against the odds of sexism and the patriarchy, trying to succeed as both mothers and independent heroes. It’s also just a fun family movie where people make pew-pew noises with their mouths when using a baby as a laser gun, so maybe I’m reading into it a little too much.
And now for some asides:
I plan to save the clip of Edna justifying not having children because she’s an artist to my phone for family occasions to play when people ask where their grandchildren are.
Something about Evelyn reminded me of a proper old school Gerry Anderson puppet, except for her posture, which was the most relaxed and full of personality I think I’ve ever seen a woman be animated.
Ooh! I wonder if their red plates were the infamous radioactive Brilliant Red Fiesta Dinnerware! Maybe that’s where their superpowers come from!
