just to clarify, is the purpose of edge splitting to close the gaps between the mesh and the sims 3 body? i watched the videos so i want to make sure i understand, thank you!!

Hi!

Nope! Edge splitting has 2 purposes: 1) it splits UVs so they do not pull. Think of a cylinder, to make it a flat UV it would be a rectangle that is sewn together on one side. But then the edge of the rectangle needs to have 2 edges either side and edge split does that. The second is to fix normals, if you have a 90 degree corner then the normals will try to make it look round. If you edge split the edge has 2 normals that can face into different directions and give it a sharp shading, not rounded.

I know it seems like such a small, insignificant thing, but I'm very detail oriented when I stage a photo and I have scoured the internet for something at least similar... and nada. I love this comment. Such an excellent point! To answer your question though, no, Theodore has not thought about how this will affect anyone but himself. At this point in the story, he is a vain, self-centered person whose main concerns are his money, his reputation, and his career in politics. Whether that will ever change or not remains to be seen, but if it helps I believe that he absolutely has the capacity to grow up and become an upstanding leader of the community as well as a good father and maybe, someday, a good husband too. He’s just not there yet.

Exactly! :D I’m so happy you noticed his pose! Theodore was/is very torn about how to handle the birth of a daughter that he doesn’t (and never did) want, and that sort of internal conflict is precisely what I was going for with both his facial expression and his overall body language and stance. So thank you very much for the comment! I’m thrilled that you picked up on that detail. <3

LOL, thank you Kylie! :D I used NRaas’s instant baby function (that comes with Master Controller) on some of the hospital staff to get a variety of different looking babies, hehe. That part actually didn’t take too much time since they were just burrito babies instead of resized toddlers. Decorating the nursery and hospital, on the other hand, took ages!

Oh, I am the exact same way! I didn’t even want to hold my baby sister when she was first born, and at that point I was 25 years old and had spent over three years working in childcare with babies and toddlers. Newborns are just so fragile and delicate, haha. But Westley is definitely a natural.

Hello, I hope this isn't too much of a bother but can you explain how you rename your poses? I saw your response on a post by InaBadRomance but wasn't able to fully understand how you do it so they're easier to find? Thanks so much, and I understand if you're not able to reply at the moment!

Of course!! Here is Zina’s super duper quick tutorial on how to rename poses so they are categorized in player!! (working title)

I’d show you an in-game screenshot but I don’t have my desktop PC available rn. I’ll just try to explain the process. 

Go into Studio, and press “my projects”. Locate the pose pack and open it.

Now, the left of the screen should look something like this:

Now, to add a “category” to the pose, all you want to do is add a string right before the name that is the same for each pose pack you want to fall into said “category”. In this example, it looks like this:

@eslanes gorgeous pose pack I’m using here has two people arguing. Therefore, I am writing ARGUING in front of the name of the pack. Leave everything the same, save. Then keep going with other poses.

My “categories” are: ARGUING, CUDDLING, CLEANING, DANCING, EMOTIONS, EATING, FRIENDLY, GENERIC (talking + walking mostly), KISSING, PARTY, SCHOOL, SKATING. I go on pose hunts before I start shooting a chapter, so I always know what exactly I am going to use a specific pose for. If there are some that don’t fall into those categories, I just name them “EP. NUMBER” depending on what part of my story I plan to use them for.

Now. The reason this sorta works in categorizing poses is pose player now sorts everything alphabetically (you need to batch fix old poses though). Because of this, all the poses listed as “ARGUING” will come first, then “CUDDLING”, then “CLEANING”, so on so forth. 

I find this to be the easiest way to keep track of what a pose pack is, especially when I start piling up several of them on top of each other. It still takes some going through to try and find the exact pose, but at least it’s limited to 5 “ARGUING” packs and not 100.

Hello everyone! I have few things for you all today! I hope that you like them! :)

There are 2 hairs, 1 bow accessory (found in the hats category), and 1 dress for your toddlers!

Update 1/21/2017: Hi everyone! I got a couple of messages saying that there were some issues with the hairs and I want to thank @inabadromance for the reply--the toddler update was the first time I used S4S Harmony and I didn’t know that if I used my previous hairs to import the new meshes into there would be a problem! I also added the correct purple swatch to the bow--my apologies for missing it before. So please redownload the hairs if you had any problems with them and the bow! The merged CC file has also been updated, if you prefer downloading one zip!

The two hairs are edits of the first hairs I converted for toddlers!

For the pulled back ponytail, I removed the bow from the mesh and made it an accessory so that you can pick the color you want!

For the braids, I added the bangs from the toddler pigtails because I thought it would be cute!

The last is a toddler conversion of the Chloe Dress that I converted from child to adult a while ago.

Both hairs come in EA’s 9 colors. Both hairs are for males and females, tagged feminine. Both hairs will work with EA’s hats.

The bow accessory can be found under hats and has the original 8 EA colors.

The dress comes in EA’s original 18 colors.

Everything is BGC!

I don’t really want anyone worrying about me. I apologize for not replying any messages.. i just don’t have anything to say about it. I haven’t opened my game in a long long time (since last time i posted, that was my last day) and.. i haven’t really been feeling it. I find everything super boring... i guess that doing the same thing over and over just wore me out .. hope no one is mad with me about this. I’m just enjoying other things at the moment in the little free time i have left that are less demanding. Hopefully i’ll get my spark back when pets arrive.. though i really want weather too.. oh well.. the waiting game isn’t fun for anybody.

Haha I suppose it looks a little similar in terms of the bright colouring. Kuroyuki did the BWS art, while Satoi did Dialovers. If you compare them side by side, it’ll look different. But I completely feel you on that overdose XD

Looks like the hype train has come and gone. Are you still excited?

I’m pretty sure this is a super late reply, but i really wanted to address it. The hype probably toned down a bit by now, but i think many are still super excited about it. Obviously, i am too and happy to see the community enjoying the game.

It’s still bittersweet to see (i’m old, i can pull this nostalgia card) yet again packs that we all know being stripped and reduced by the minute. Yeah yeah, no open world so no horses. No open world, so no cars.. hello? Sims 2? That game made ages ago .. those excuses are so lame.

I’m hoping (cos no one can take my hope away) that they aren’t showing the rest of the animals thinking that we don’t care XD. yeah, good joke right? Seeing how things are going, and how they released parenthood and then the stuff pack for toddlers… maybe after cats & dogs they will release a stuff pack with some other related things…. 

I really never cared for horses on S3, but then again i didn’t do much it was pretty monotonous but yet very enjoyable. Those stables were too big, everything was too big.. But now that i’m older, and storytelling such a boom, they would have been nice…  i bet they would have been very pretty.

How do you play TS4? I mean, what do you do immediately after you start the game? Do you follow a script for your story or does it all forms as you go along? Idk if you have already answered this. Anyways, thank you beforehand :)

aw that’s an interesting question. I have an awful memory, not sure if it was asked or not but that’s okay. My train of thought is.. getting an specific idea on mind with outfits poses set up all at once. I gather all the cc, create if needed, create poses if needed, and once (ONCE) i have everything i go into game. And i don’t go opening and closing it, i do it all at once. I don’t really have a “script”... just a general idea of how the life of my sims should progress. I high avoid repeating things, so i’m always trying to step up my “game” if i can. I would say i go along with my mood mostly. thanks for asking!
