What are your favourite characters in TSAMS?

Sorry this took so long to answer Anon, my brain has been made of Soup lately. Warning, this is LONG. I either say nothing or I write essays there is no in-between with me.

From the very first video TSAMS I have watched, there has always been One Character that my brain latched on to like a deranged wrinkly pink leech and has refused to let go of.

The absolute edgelord theatre kid supreme turned soggy wet dorito, Eclipse.

I’m being serious when I say he is one of my favourite antagonist characters of All Time in any I have ever consumed. Hang on, imma see if I can find the tumblr post I made about half a year ago where I gushed about how much I love his character and copy paste it under the readmore, lol:

Been thinking recently about how Eclipse is not only my favorite TSBS character, but perhaps one of my favorite villian characters of all time. He's just so much fun to put under a microscope.

He's done terrible things. He's an absolute Edgelord Theatre Kid Supreme. He's a pathetic sad, wet cat of a man. He will kill without remorse. He's a sarcastic ball of prickles. He's so very smart and also so very dense. He's so overly serious it warps around to being funny. He's a grumpy bear. He's an absolute jerk and cares despite how much he pretends he doesn't. He's a liar, yet somehow authentic in a way other people often are not. He hates people. He is lonely. He is utterly terrified of vulnerability. He yearns to be loved, and perhaps also yearns to love others in turn. His ego is huge. He has been humbled hugely.

I have never been so strongly affected by a character death than Eclipse calling himself pathetic in his final moments. It hurt, despite everything he was, everything he had done. I thought it was a fantastic end for him, a wonderful conclusion to his story. I was still overjoyed when he was brought back. And now he is learning and growing. Everything I had been sad he had been unable to let himself do before his end.

Because, while sometimes bad things happen to people who don't deserve it, it is also true that sometimes somebody who does not deserve a second, third, fourth chance gets it. And sometimes, somebody who you never would think would use it, finally starts the journey to turn their life around. And sticks with it. And, that's something that makes me happy.

In present day, he is a protagonist rather than an antagonist, but I still love his character. EAPS has fed me so much in regards to Eclipse’s character and allowed me to do more of one of my favourite things: Put Eclipses Psyche into a Petri Dish and Study it Under a Microscope. That And I admit to having weakness for the following tropes present in EAPS Eclipse: -Bad Guy is Not So Much Reformed But Rather Domesticated Like A Feral Cat -Bad/Mean Guy is Soft For A Specific Person/People -Villain/ Ex-Villain Adopts A Daughter -Ex-Bad Guy Uses Bad Guy Skills To Serve Good Guy Cause -Platonic Tsundere Cares Deeply For Friends and Family -Bad Guy/ Ex-Bad Guy With Friendless Background is Overprotective and Possessive of Their Loved Ones -Long-Term Redemption Stories Full of Character Growth and Character Exploration -Grouchy Person Suffering Played For Laughs -Snark

So yeah, even though EAPS Eclipse isn’t an antagonist any more he is *still* my favourite TSBS Character and I’m so grateful that EAPS is a Thing XD

Normal and Sane KHR Merch Haul (it's mostly Hibari btw)

It's been a while since I posted and gushed about the merch I've been getting, and I received a lot since then (esp with the recent Ju/mp Fe/sta) so I'll just combine them all in one post! (this is a long post bc of my yapping, ignore the texts if u just wanna see the pics dkdhdkdb)

The first one here is Hibari's Pri/maniacs perfume! (displayed with the Hibari nitotan nui for size comparison 🤣)

Credits and a very loud eardrum shattering shout-out to @amiahoshi for translating the product description for it and for always saving my life from shit MTLs 😭💜✨🫂 That TL gave me doki dokis hahahahaha helphdhdvfhvdf I'm way too deep into this, I'm beyond cooked 🤣 (I'll just make a separate post for the TL!)

Though honestly, it's kind of a dumbass decision on my side to buy perfume in the first place because I get nauseous from most of them. Not to mention, since this is a flammable item, it's extra costly to buy them from JP.

But surprisingly, when I tried smelling it, it's kinda okay? (or maybe I'm just coping since he's my oshi) So in the end, maybe it's not that much of a dumbass idea to buy this after all.

I won't be using it regularly because every drop of this is gold 🗿💸 and I don't go out often anyway. But maybe when I attend certain occasions I will. I'm almost tempted to buy a second one (one for display, one for use???...das crazy...shut up Ein, have mercy on your wallet)

Next one is Ill/egal Factory Studio's TYL Hibari figure! This one's an unofficial merch btw, but it looks so good that it's definitely worth it! 😭🙏✨

It's quite huge, the product page says the height is around 37cm (at least taller than a regular ruler?). It even came with this really nice-looking photocard and the box looks so good too (which I'm keeping under the desk because I didn't wanna throw it away).

Now, I'm praying for GSC to release an official figure for TYL Hibari. Right now, we do have his Nendo 2.0 coming up, so I'll just be waiting for updates on that one.

Speaking of GSC, I also got his Nendo (1.0) some time last year! The poses are so cute, I'm glad Hibird is with him in this! 🐥💜 (for the GSC Pop-up Parade figure it's here)

This reminded me, I should buy a BJD body for this so I can buy custom clothes for him 😈😈😈 That also means custom nendo for a certain other blorbo hehe 🍎 That'll be another project for a different day and post.

In terms of figures, I'm still on the look-out for the G.E.M. figure (where he's wearing a suit in a dynamic pose ft Hibird) and Ill/egal Factory Studio's Varia Arc Hibari (ft him obliterating Gola Mosca *chef kiss*). Just need the right timing (+ right listing), since I'm doing 5D chess budgeting over here and losing lots of braincells 😭😭😭 PRICE GOUGERS/SCALPERS WHEN I CATCH YOU!!! 🤬🤬🤬 WHEN I CATCH YOU!!! This stupid mf says as she buys their shit anyway. Sorry, I'm part of the problem. I buy the less price gouged one at least???

This Nendo also came with a bunch of free Shikishi boards from the Hikokuji set! 1 x Tsuna, 1 x Hibari, 1 x Dino, 2 x Mukuro, 2 x Xanxus, 2 x Squalo and 2 x Bel. I gave the dupes to my brother (the ones with dupes happened to be his faves lol), so here are the ones left with me (the extra Hibari one is already in my shrine).

When I rearrange my Hibari shrine, I'm thinking of also setting up a general KHR(e) shrine so I can display them there.

Anyway, here's the whole package I got for that batch of shipment!

This includes merch from the Am/ano Aki/ra Exhibit plus Vol 2 of the KHR x San/rio Collab merch. I really love the Sanrio merch they're releasing (it's just so cute! 😭💖 H.K. & H.K. duo, you will always be famous to me) so I make sure to at least get the acrylic stands from Vol 1 and Vol 2. But I spectacularly failed for Vol 3 (it's a lottery, I was so depressed that time I forgor to buy pulls...), so I'm at the mercy of the JP marketplaces again for this and the prices are making me fall to my knees.

For the Am/ano Aki/ra Exhibit merch, I was actually a bit hesitant to buy this tbh because I was planning to personally attend at their last location in Nagoya, so I might as well just buy it there? But plans fell through so I went ahead and bought them. At that time, I thought Nagoya is the last one but apparently there are plans to continue? So if there's another one later this year, then I'll make plans again to finally attend. I just need someone to go with me! Even if I already went to JP before, I feel like I need to go a few more times with someone to get used to international travel 😭 (also I'm slightly a workaholic perhaps, I feel guilty when I take time off work)

Here's the tapestry at the upper-left corner by the way! (plus some other ones I have) It's in-between the two blankets I got from that one auction that got me sweating a lot and almost gave me high blood pressure.

It's so worth it, I wake up to this every day 🤣🫶✨ I adjusted the display from the left pic since then, to make space for the new one in the right pic. (My room has zero windows, so I had the curtain rod installed there just for this purpose ssjdhvfjhsvf the things I do for my oshi...tho I think it's easy to tell how small my room is from this wall, I'm struggling to cram all of these in there fr fr)

Next up is my copy of the KHR's English Dub by Diskotek! I honestly haven't watched it yet because I keep forgetting to buy the Blu-ray External Disk Drive 💀💀💀 I should really order one soon, I'm very curious about how they performed.

Then, after that is my haul from Anpanic's listings! I happen to come across it within like 10 minutes of them posting it, and I never zoomed in on someone's Sho/pee link so fast hahahahaha Anyway, I was fast and managed to grab most of the Hibari-related ones.

And I'm so happy they even included me some freebie Knights (En/stars) merch!!! 🥹💖✨ They probably noticed that my pfp in Sho\\pee is Leo hehe 🥰🥰🥰

I also got merch through The Vongola Hideout too! My favorite from this is the handkerchief showing Hibari feeding Hibird some takoyaki! 🥹💜✨ I've been looking for it for a while now and the ones I've seen before are so overpriced. My other fave is the fish Reborn I caught for Butter ahahaha it looks so funny, I love it so much 🤣🥰🤣🥰 I didn't know this merch existed helpsdjfshjf

Besides those, I got a bunch of CCG of not only Hibari but for my dearest girlies as well 🥰✨ Please look at them!!!

And I really just wanna put the spotlight on this particular card with Kyoko and Ryohei!!! Specifically, this very rare expression for Kyoko-chan awawawawawawa IT'S SO GOOD!!! SHE SLAYED SO HARD!!! I REALLY REALLY WANTED A COPY OF THIS BC OF THAT AND NOW I HAVE IT~😍😍😍

Finally the last ones is the recent batch I got from FJ, which includes the merch sets from the recent Jum/p Fest/a! They were actually two boxes, but one got stuck in Customs due to the holidays, so I have two packages arrive at the same time in the post office lmao

Here are the misc ones I got too! The Ryohei and Reborn ones are what I got because they're in a set with the Hibari chibi gashapon (will be gifting them to my friends too). Then the Fran photocard is an Ani/mate freebie, and I gave him to my brother.

Headcanon I wasn't sure about:

Jason dying at the end of Under the Red Hood. It took a few posts about that for me to get on board but I'm basically married to it now.

The evidence is subtle but super compelling once I had it pointed out and I love the drama it creates. The idea that no, there was no third option, not really, and Bruce has directly caused Jason's death through his own morals because no rigid set of laws can possibly save everyone is super compelling to me, and I never would have caught it without other people around talking about it :3

A character that fandom has helped you appreciate:

Honestly I could pick any character really since I started with fandom stuff and then got into the comics, but the one this has most applied to has got to be Cass.

I've never disliked Cass but there's a degree to which my own relationship to martial arts and dedication and so on mean that I don't think she's a character I'm ever gonna really click with.

But I do love reading about people adoring her :3 She is a hella cool character, and like when people gush about her and explore all her nuances I'm happy to see it. The way she's evolved and grown as a person, the ways her past still haunt her, it's good shit! Like that's a powerhouse of a character in terms of literal punchy kicky and in terms of narrative and thematics, and it really doesn't surprise me that a lot of people really love her.

Very blorbo in law. She's not my blorbo, but I'm very glad she got written and that she is other folks' blorbo :3

I’m gonna be so real, I don’t care about the alien stage boys AT ALL. I’m kinda mad about them, in fact, even though there’s nothing wrong with them.

To put it into words, I’m frustrated that the YouTube channel Vivinos had an entire catalogue of wonderful, tragic wlw horror content. An entire channel dedicated to exploring the psyches of girls! And you know the series that blows up? The ONE SERIES with prominent male characters. 

Are you fucking kidding me?!

And like, it’s true that Alien Stage was much more ambitious than previous ones, since it’s a multi-parter. But it’s not Sua and Mizi I’m getting randomly sent to my algorithms across the internet.

It’s always that fucking black haired guy and white haired guy! My friends started gushing about all of the memes/trends about that ship, meanwhile I had been gushing about Vivinos long before that to ZERO interest from them? Why? Because there was zero content about them online.

For instance, Vivinos’ previous multi-parter, Pink Bitch Club, was a fucking shoujo anime ARG exploring the horror of girlhood envy and insecurity! BRAT summer type shit.

Despite also being a multi-parter, the most hype it got was an animation meme trend and a song cover trend. Neither of which was about getting excited about the characters/lore because who the fuck cares about female characters, I guess. Just swap them with your preferred OCs or blorbos!

Nobody cared until there were boys, and it’s such an obvious example of misogyny in fandom that it fascinates me. Usually in these cases, people come up with arguments that do not indict fandom too much.

“Oh, it’s just because the writers were bad at writing women, so the women are less interesting to explore to the fandom.”

“Oh, it’s just because there are less female characters.”

“Oh, it’s just because wlw media is so sanitized or less well-made due to the publishing industry.”

But those arguments do not apply here.

For instance, most of the channels’ previous content was of a similarly high quality, in terms of animation and writing. None of its previous WLW content was sanitized because they were all fascinating takes on lesbian horror. There is no “early YouTuber awkwardness” to blame. Pink Bitch Club felt like it should’ve been fandom indie-horror ship bait, the same way Dead Plate was and successfully became.

I was constantly looking for people talking about it online because I expected that, only to realize that its online following was contained almost entirely to its YouTube comment section. Nowhere near the landslide of content for Alien Stage!

And like, maybe it was just the fact that it wasn’t as palatable due to the ARG horror format. Okay, ignoring how huge the audience for ARGs are, Alien Stage also has female characters!! Sua and Mizi and Hyuna! We start with tragic childhood friends to lovers, get this intriguing backstory for them, and they’re getting overshadowed by the two guys. Great.

If it’s because Sua died to early, well it’s a good thing that Mizi doesn’t! She meets Hyuna, who fucking rescues her from certain death and takes her on the government-rebellion, y/n pop star AU concert road-trip of our AO3 dreams, aaaand nobody fucking cares.

I am just sick of it. It’s just fandom misogyny, plain and simple.

Raph is so cool Love him, like he's big and spiky and probably the softest in terms of open outwardly affection towards the group (he does the most group hugs I'm pretty sure? if not HEADCANNON that when they were little and any of them had a bad dream Raph got everyone into a little turtle pile and they could hug it out and feel safe)

Leo!!!!! I AM GETTING SOME OF THE GENDER VIBES!! So far his character feels the least dove into? Like Donnie has episodes where his character is a focus and so does Mikey and Raph to an extent but so far Leo feels more like part of a duo rather than fully solidifying his own persona (to me and I'm no where near done the show SO that most likely changes!) BUT ALSO that feels like it adds to his character in terms of I think he's the second oldest?

(I thought Donnie was the second oldest but hmmm if they're more like twins than the rest of the brothers then it kinda feels like they both tried to be the protective second oldest sibling and the second youngest at the same time and rapidly switch between each other, but like clash heads if both try to fill that role at the same time? MIGHT be head canon stuff at this point, but I need to watch more to find out. Leo DEF has something going on, like please Mx. can you reveal your hidden secret self that isn't based entirely on how we see you interact with others? like who do you think you are Leo...)

Mikey! What a fun guy, he's like. The same vibes as that "I'm just a little man, just a little man and it's my birthday. You wouldn't hurt a little birthday boy would you? on his very big special birthday day? I'm such a little guy why hurt me?". Head empty no thoughts, he's got the DVD screen saver (corner bouncer) playing on loop and probs the THX loud effect. I hope he gets more time to shine because he kinda feels like he swaps between being just for comedy and someone that wants to prove themself(which would then help them feel better about themself and improve their own self worth and stuff)

DONNIE!! MY GUY DONNIE!! HOW DID THEY MAKE A CHARACTER SO BITABLE. MY MAN IS AUTISM. HE IS MY AUTISM CREATURE. <- I thought his design was cool at first and then I saw him exist

Donnie is so character though like sorry to the rest of the turtles but Donnie is going to be my new blorbo, new little skrunkle that I'll probably project onto. He has all the issues and none of them. He has that "no one understands how my mind works and I must study other's and the world just to be partially accepted" vibes WHILE ALSO having "the world will adapt to me. If not through understanding, then my force" sorta vibes and ? the range! He's dynamic, he's wild, he probably orders the exact same thing at one specific restaurant if he's ordering for one.

APRIL!! YO SHE IS GREAT! I love how we learn more about her slowly like she's a character living her own life that happens to appear in this show, like I'd fully expect her to have a show on her own and her here is cross overs (compliment). So happy to see where they go next with her, I am like a cheer leader she can do no wrong. She could plan to kill me and I'd give her a thumbs up and say that she should believe in herself and her ability to cultivate her own life. SAD that the people at her school aren't nice, but I feel like that adds to the whole "oh the outsider must be lying about who they are if they act like someone else when not in school/[insert environment] vibes/story lines some things get into. Like we fully understand why she acts like that and get a more objective perspective of everything. She makes me feral in the sense that I want her to have the world (she also reminds me of my younger sister xD)

I also am so thrilled to see that NOT all or most of the main human cast is white. Like that's a huge think that sucks with western animation and honestly the first episode having the white guy be the first experiment and overall kinda dumb was so cathartic. Like yeah, ANYWAYS we don't need to get into my personal issues xD

All of the turtle brothers have obvious/noticeable behaviours impacted/caused/influenced by trauma and GROWLING SHAKING SCREAMING!!!1

Raph being alone omg. Splinter was probably an even worse father then and maybe not even a mutant yet??? And either Raph found the red thing and that's why splinter called him red or splinter grabbed the first thing and just colour coded him. The balll is probably his first friend and the fact that the football is vaguely turtle shell shape is giving me emotions.

Leo I feel like he always needs to prove himself because maybe he didn't have a lot of chances to be alone? He's the second oldest so idk how long there would've been between him and Donnie joining but I fully feel like when Raph realized he had a brother he tagged along with him everywhere and probably tried looking out for him more because he might've been (as a younger child) like "why is he smaller, is he okay? will he get hurt?". Leo my man are you okay you seem like you just compartmentalized everything :(

Mikey I think needed more attention and Splinter did very little so a lot of his earlier development would have been focused on getting all that important attention from his (not by that much) older brothers who ALSO were in that situation. He's got the vibes of someone that in years time (maybe few maybe a LOT of years) he'll be like "heyyy wait a minute do I use humor to cope with everything and heyyy are these things maybe not just fun little quirks?" <- neglected younger sibling vibes where he had to fight for attention where he never had time to ever figure out who he was outside of the four brother unit

DONNIE!! HE HAS SO MANY ISSUES!! Okay but the fact that he's low empathy is NOT one of them I will fight people on that. He is great and pretty relatable as someone who struggles with displaying emotions and voice inflections (I try, but when I first learned to speak I didn't realize you had to move your mouth into shapes a lot (I thought they were exaggerating just so I'd understand) so I'd be like 5 and doing ventriloquism instead of speaking properly.) <- this is one of the things I'm adding to my head canons for him. It's why he exaggerates a lot of his hand-when-speaking actions (and body movements) and apologizes for not having the right tone. Just quirky neurodivergent things :3 )

okay okay but seriously Donnie both somehow manages to be the clearest with how their childhood/life conditions negatively impacted him and also the least affected. I think it's compounded by even if he was human and not a mutant turtle, he still wouldn't be able to fit into the mould of a "normal" human, so as a mutant turtle he sticks out even more. Might've been something he struggled with until later because rn in the series it seems like he's embraced that a lot more, although still struggles. I could go on, but he fits my brain's vibes for "projection mode engaged" so yeah, babygirl

Donnie has autism and Mikey has adhd no questions asked. Raph is on the neurodivergent spectrum but in a less defined way (DEFINITELY HAS SEPARATION ANXIETY!!) and Leo is the token neurotypical that adopted neurodivergent behaviours and mindsets because that's what he grew up around. So he gets the same outsider feel of being different while coincidentally having his difference be that his brain is ""more normal"" <- heavy quotation marks.

uhhh final thoughts because I could ramble for days.. Splinter so far sucks I think that there's something really weird in the vibes of him purposefully raising all the turtle brothers in a way where the only times they got much validation/even just acknowledgement was through them obsessively watching all the films he was in. Like idk something about the vibes of him not telling them at ALL that that is him but heavily encouraging them to act out his movies in front of him gives off something weird.

SIDE RANT ABOUT THEIR COLOURS!! I AM SO INTRIGUED ABOUT THIS ELEMENT

Also like Splinter calls them by colours which he probably colour coded them all just to tell them apart (maybe why they always wear the masks? Because that's the only way they felt external validation of their lives and existence that wasn't just through the four of them??)

He might've did red first because we see him wear a lot of red, and blue is the stereotypical opposite of red so it makes sense to choose that second. Red vs Blue stereotype, etc etc. Maybe why Leo is competitive too? Because he felt his first experiences were being compared to Raph?

It's interesting that Donnie got purple because that's a mix of red and blue, so maybe Splinter wanted to give them some sort of cohesive theme at that point? Like a sliding scale of colours? Maybe it started because Raph and Leo both gave Donnie some purple, idk tho.

Purple is heavily used to either represent (evil) tech or just Donnie and Donnie has the most attachment to the colour so there's definitely something going on there.

Maybe Splinter didn't even realize there was a third turtle kid until Raph and Leo found a way to get Splinter to recognize there was a difference at all (maybe why Donnie in particular strives so much for acknowledgement by Splinter? Because his earliest life was defined by being mistaken for other people?

Mikey being Orange feels like Splinter gave up and didn't want to go with yellow (the more obvious choice as it's a primary colour, kinda surprised Donnie didn't get assigned yellow) and maybe did the same thing with Raph where he just took some spare material (he wears a lot of gold and orange in hems and whatnot) and just plopped that on Mikey.

Kinda shows how Mikey is separated by the rest by being born the youngest, they might've had some sort of living routine set up before he was there and he didn't have much say in how it adapted? Like Leo and Raph are opposites or could've been intended as opposites by Splinter, and with Donnie being so close to the same age as Leo (but his soft shell making him more prone to injury and therefore requiring both Raph's and Leo's protection) he fit into the middle but still closer to Leo (<- Donnie thought of himself as the middle child between them three for sure, but both Leo and Raph think of him as the youngest out of the three).

Mikey being orange shows that's he's kinda excluded from the twins thing that Leo and Donnie have, and might be closer to Raph because of that. After all Mikey and Raph are the only ones with masks on the warm side of the colour wheel (also adding that Mikey is a combination of red and yellow, with yellow not symbolizing anything so maybe that's adding to Mikey's vibes of being an outsider/different/unique?

He's loud in all the different ways that Donnie is (which was probably worse earlier than it is now currently in the show) and struggles with focusing his attention and thoughts where Donnie struggles with the opposite. Both Leo and Donnie saw themselves as middle siblings and treat may tried to treat Mikey similar to how they treated each other (in terms of "this is how I know how to interact with younger siblings and you are younger so this is right, right?" sorta way)

Raph would've had the experience of having two fairly different younger siblings, so he adapted more easily to the personal needs of Mikey as a younger brother? Like he unlocked his emotional intelligence earlier and could recognize (possibly comparing their behaviour to Leo?) that both Donnie and Mikey are different (more obviously neurodivergent, both probably would've been special needs kids).

Plus Donnie would be struggling more with his low empathy, perhaps not recognizing it at all and being constantly confused about others, further pushing him into the younger sibling role for both Raph and Leo because they might see that as him "struggling with something basic" (heavy quotation marks)?

Which would make Mikey (who is a fairly emotions driven person) and Donnie have difficulties communicating/Donnie having difficulties being a decent older brother. And Leo being worried and distracted by Donnie having a soft shell and maybe falling into the trap of "hey Mikey's shell is hard like Raph's and Mine so he's probably going to be okay, not like this bozo over here".

ANYWAYS I AM FERAL OVER THIS THE COLOUR SYMBOLISM AND HOW IT COULD REFLECT THEIR RELATIONSHIPS WITH EACH OTHER AND DYNAMICS BUT ALSO SHOWING HOW THEY WERE TREATED (as creatures to be colour coded rather than named and raised) IS OUGOUHGOUGUHGOU !!1 <- howling

FINAL NOTE: I keep thinking about how Donnie might have first gotten into science by testing which materials could help make him less "weak" (cover up the soft shell) and how his soft-shell-only years could have been defined as him being the "official most fragile" brother. And how finding a way to mimic a hard shell would be what he needed to officially be more equal to the rest of the brothers, and how he might've fallen in love with science then but it's intrinsically tied to his self worth and need to prove that he can pull his own weight/be helpful enough to stick around and be treated as an equal. And how his science experiments might have been what got him some of Splinter's earliest acknowledgements and AAAAA

Like maybe before he was "the purple one" he was "the soft shelled one" or "the weakest one" or (more extreme) the "defective turtle" (because turtles are known for having hard shells, so why didn't he?). And how he leans into the purple so much is because he's trying to erase that feeling of being defined as not a name or not even a colour, but by how "weak" he was, and his intelligence could be some level of survival mechanism to not be stuck in a loop of negativity towards himself and be an equal in an already extremely small world where his existence itself is "a crime against nature" so to speak.

He will be loud about being the purple one because he'd even give up being the smart one because he would much rather be defined as even a singular colour than just "the defective one". That's why he'll make bad(?) choices if it's got something to do with the colour purple, because unlike the rest he wasn't even dignified a colour when he was young and feels like he has to fight for it or earn it, to some level.

A LOT of this is based on where I am in the show now and my educated guesses on what I know about the characters and what I've watched and YEAH I could be completely wrong about their early lives maybe they like, all fell out of a tube one by one and the "big time difference" between their ages is like, minutes vs seconds lol. Maybe it's entirely head canons maybe I've done analysis. There’s wayyy to much here to really respond to but I basically agree with most of the stuff you’ve said. (and the only stuff you've got wrong you only got wrong cause you havent finished the show lol)

The thing about the colors is that Red, Blue, Orange, and Purple are already the TMNT colors and there’s no way you could get away with changing them in a new reboot without people getting mad, I think hhahfadsf. THAT BEING SAID I think your analysis of their colors is still very fitting and cool and interesting, even if the out-of-universe reason they are that way is cuz that’s how they’ve always been.

NO SPOILERS but later on Donnie has an ep that basically confirms his tech and self worth are connected and idk if you know this, but Donnie and Mikey canoncially have autism/adhd.

Now you asked for my thoughts on Susato:

Susato is probably one of my favorite characters in the whole game. She’s so unique to most assistants (most games try to have the quirky upbeat assistant which often gets the “Maya clone” label, and even if I think that’s dumb and not the characters fault but the writing team and Capcoms fault for its mysoginistic writing choices, and also ‘Maya clone” is a dumb thing cause they are different), but she’s far more mature (we will get into that one..) but still has her various quirks, her very fun moments and she’s really fucking cool.

She’s great! She has so many cool little hobbies, such as martial arts and how she loves the Sherlock Holmes stories and is a little fan girl, how she genuinely has a big interest in law, and is really smart and just such a pleasant character with all her fun details. How she dresses up as a boy to save a friend and how loyal she is. How she has done stuff like tamper with a crime scene and evidence despite being so well versed in law. Augh. Her interactions with others are so fun; she should throw more ppl it’s funny.

Okay now that I’ve gushed about her. I feel like she is done dirty in the game. In terms of things that she goes through vs how much time she gets to spend on it vs other characters? Like her father left for england when she was born and had to shuffle back into her life 6 years later, her brother died and her literal idol FAKED HIS DEATH?? And she grieved him and he wasn’t dead her blorbo from the books just lost his still alive injured body in Hong Kong. Her father fakes an illness making her spend a month an a half on a boat for him not to be sick. That same brother was gonna take her to England on his assassination mission. What was she gonna do when he killed a man?? Idk!! She goes through it!!

And yet. And yet it’s like. Ah yes Susato our forgiving queen who doesn’t have any harsh angry feeling to anyone. Wow! So kind! Like I feel like she deserves to be angrier and meaner cause she gets a lot of things done to her that the male characters get to have moments about? Fucking absent parents is an ace attorney staple and it’s just kinda like. Well let’s brush it off now and let her kinda hang out while we talk to someone else! And I think there’s just some issues with the writing in general I did see a post that I will never find again. That made a good point how some of the later reveals would have been better if it were not Ryunouske who was the one to be confronting ppl or finding/revealing certain bits of info but do to Main Characterisms. And it might have hit harder if it were Susato or even Asogi due to familial ties in the story. I wish I could find the post they lay it out better

And I’m not gonna pretend this is Just a Susato problem cause alot of female characters tend to get the short end of the stick in ace attorney games. Think of the trilogy! Maya and Edgeworth go through very similar traumas and yet the writing let’s Edgeworth go through it while Maya doesn’t get the same treatment. She’s the assistant she doesn’t have time to grieve her absent now dead mom. She’s making quips and eating burgerramen!! Same happens with Susato.

But overall I Love Susato. I have a few post canon AUs where she finally gets to have her issues be front and center. They aren’t fleshed out they are just a few drawings ideas I have that work and my dumb wrist issues have been preventing. I complain a lot but I do love her DEARLY… best assistant. Best Dgs character. Underrated by everyone

HIIII HAHN i got leeron for this one!!!!

oh boy. leeron was my first little skrunkly on this blog. he was the whole reason i started it. i think he was also my first icon on here?? WAY back when in the ancient year of 2021 👴 leeron was always a huuuge comfort to me. little bry lore but i actually started this blog to cope(?) with getting dumped by the first partner i had who i actually rly liked. i had gone into it hoping it would make me feel less lonely and i didnt even realize all the love i was imagining receiving from leeron was actually coming from me the whole time.... the call was coming from inside the house yanno. AAAANYWAY leeron, aside from generally boosting my self confidence/self love, also helped me come to terms w/ my particular gender and sexuality. i realized i identified wayyy more with the experience of liking men AS a man than i ever had with liking men as a woman. and that made me come to the realization that as much as i enjoy presenting femininity i dont really perform it the same way someone who identifies with their birth gender more might. so like its crazy how a fictional man made me real life realize things. the characters may be fictional but their effect on your mindset can be very real yanno. also he made me buy a puffer vest. that i never wear because it makes me overheat while bein cold in the rest of my body. but i have it. in my closet. i love him SOOOO much he brings out my freneticism :-) i dont talk enough about him on here anymore but i REALLY should he is still the Original skrunkly boo boo as far as this blog is concerned. (probably for sure not the ORIGINAL original skrunkly from way back but like. as far as my re-entry into the community he was the original. the smooth refresing taste of Original Flavor Blorbo)
