i cannot explain how much kristen needs to change her marketing tactic

she keeps going around and saying that cassandra is the goddess of mystery and doubt and the night, but thats not quite true. cassandra is the goddess of finding safety in the unknown. of not being afraid of doubt.

she is the belief that even if you don't know where you are or what to do, if you are lost and alone in a dark forest, there will be something on the other side, and all you have to do is get there. Cassandra is the goddess of staring into the cold, uncaring void and feeling a warm hand clasp your own, of a whisper in your ear saying youre going to be okay. you aren't alone. it is going to be scary and hard and uncertain, but you will never be on your own because i am here with you. you will never be lost because i know where you are

Thinking about Shane’s lore… I interpret his family situation to be one of general instability/neglect, given his problems are the inherited/generational kind. Marnie is one parent’s (picking one would be straight up projection on my part soo lol) much younger sibling who tried to be a positive figure in Shane’s life but couldn’t do much for him in his younger years.

She continued to be a stable, comforting presence as he grew up, hopeful that might be enough to keep him from going down the same path as his parents…so she’s very glad he continued to keep in contact even as a disaffected, burnt out 20 something with poor coping mechanisms and similarly inclined friends. Friends who, if they told you they were expecting a child, you’d be kinda concerned. But also bummed cause they were fun to party with and always had a basement to chill in and a couch to crash on.

Seeing how Marnie is a sweet, caring person, there’s no way she wouldn’t try to help Shane and his goddaughter’s parents- a moral obligation she feels she owes Shane since she couldn’t help him as a child.

Phew! Part one of…idk maybe one or two more headcanon comics about all this.
