𝐏𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐍𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐒 Y/n stayed focused on them making sure not to ruin the design, it was daytime and Nami was looking at the map to the grandline "that's strange..." she mutters, Y/n looked back "hey Nami!" Nami raised her head "what?" Y/n held her hand up "like my nails?" she asked excitedly.
Nami stared at her "it's alright..." Y/n frowned before perking up "you look cute in your glasses!" Nami paused for a moment before staring back down at her map.
Zoro exited the small room "hey um Nami, your toilets busted" Nami head shot up "we don't have a toilet." Zoro paused "oh...well something is leaking back there" getting up Nami hurried into the room shutting the door behind her.
"Zoro! Zoro! like my nails?" she held up her hand showing off the design, Zoro tilted his head "looks cool" Y/n huffed annoyed by their lack of reaction before returning to decorating her nails.
Luffy nudged Y/n "Luffy! be careful! you almost messed me up" he was sitting next to her "what do you think of the name Straw hat crew? got a nice ring to it don't you think?" Y/n nodded happily "I like it-" nudging him softly with her elbow she smirked "-Captain" Luffy could feel his heart thump a little faster as his face grew red.
Laughing Y/n knew just how flustered Luffy got when she called him that, it was a little odd to her but she didn't question it.
Grabbing her bag she dug through it "look at these glass bottles I found!" Luffy watched as she pulled out three oddly shaped bottles.
He tilted his head "what are those for?" he questioned, Y/n took the corck out of each of the bottles "to collect ocean water." Luffy tilted his head "why?" Y/n dipped one of the bottles under the water "well just in case I need it so I don't die, and what if we run into another devil fruit user? throw some of this on them and we'll have nothing to worry about."
Luffy grinned "so smart!" Y/n filled up each bottle before popping the cork back into them making sure they were tightly shut.
Zoro stared at Buggy's wanted poster "wow, he was worth 15 million berry..." Y/n awed "wow that's a lot..." Y/n stood up as Nami walked over "well we're not going to be here for very long, turns out syrup village is known for its ship building." Luffy perked up "what are we waiting for then?" Luffy walked away, Nami following him, Zoro ripped the wanted poster down muttering "stupid clown"
Y/n chuckled and walked away as did Zoro.
"Wait till I get my hands on that rubber hose little runt, and the dumb fish face, no body make fun of Buggy the clown!" Buggy sneered rummaging through the different crates.
That was until he heard a noise behind him, turning around he saw a fishman standing in his spotlight "oh great another one of you fish faces...."
The fishman spoke "Buggy the clown. Arlong wanted a word with you." Buggy scoffed turning away "well you can tell Arlong I said "I don't take requests."
Y/n and the others walked around looking at all the different ships, "look at them all..." Luffy smirked looking around. Zoro asked the important question "how much do these even cost?" Nami spoke "if you have to ask you probably can't afford it."
Y/n trailed behind them still wanting to look at all the interesting boats. Nami glanced over at Luffy "look we're gonna need something a little less flashy if we want to sneak out of here." she stated, Luffy stopped and looked over at her "you want to steal a ship?" Nami looked at him as if it was obvious.
Crossing her arms she spoke "how else did you expect us to get one?" dosing out Y/n played with her hair until Zoro called out to her "Y/n come on" she blinked and followed them "sorry."
He looked at her questioningly "what's up with you spacing out all the time?" Y/n apologized "I just have a lot on my brain sometimes" she muttered, her fins glowing out of embarrassment.
Zoro shrugged and kept walking, somehow they had managed to lose Luffy "where did he go?" Nami sighed "hopefully he's not causing trouble." Y/n nodded in agreement.
Walking around Y/n spotted him standing next to very large ship with a goat's head in the front "there you are!" she called out hurrying over to him.
Y/n stared at the ship in awe "wow...she's gorgeous..." she muttered, Luffy called out "guys! I found it! I found our ship, and this guy will sell it to us!" he smiled.
Y/n looked at the male he had dark brown skin and a brown scarf tied around his head holding back his hair, he was very handsome.
The male looked confused "o-oh um what..uh" Luffy nodded "yep we'll take it!" the man shook his head "technically she's not for sale" Y/n frowned, as did Luffy "I mean technically i'm not a salesman..." Y/n only 'oh'ed' at his words.
Nami held her hands on her hips "well do you even work here?" Y/n cocked her head to the side "hm.."
He looked at the rest of them "of course I do, I'm the chief technician in charge of encrustation removal and aviary waste eradication." Y/n and Luffy both grew confused at his big words.
Zoro dumped it down "he scrubs barnacles and cleans bird shit" Y/n and Luffy both "ooohhh" at his words.
Y/n sighed "well that's not much help." he quickly cut in "wait, wait, wait, I can help you." he began "the owner of this ship just happens to be my closest friend." Y/n smiled "that's great!" Nami raised a suspicious brow "you're friends with the owner of this ship...?"
He nodded, "not just this one, but the whole shipyard" Y/n grew excited "wow! really! that's so cool!" the male smiled at Y/n "I know right" Y/n bounced up and down "let's go meet her! she sounds awesome!" the male chuckled "alright i'll take you guys to her, I'm sure you can strike a deal with her" he stated.
He walked away "follow me." Y/n and the others followed behind him Luffy and Y/n giggling like children. Nami and Zoro watched from behind them "just a like." Nami sighed, "no wonder they're best friends." Zoro muttered
────⋆⋅☆⋅⋆──
Luffy looked in awe at the house "wow i've never seen a house this big before..." he stated, Y/n walked around "so pretty..." she muttered, "all of this just for one person?" she questioned, the male looked over "well no she lives here with her butler and a few other staff." he stated.
Y/n looked at the flowers "so pretty! Zoro! look!" picking up one of the flowers from the pond she showed it to him, he didn't look to impressed but he found her excitement cute so he humored her a bit "it's pretty, it kinda matches with your skin" the color did match with her clashing skin tones.
Nami slapped his arm, he looked at her confused "don't say that. she might think you're making fun of her...condition" she whisper shouted to him, Zoro blinked "oh...Y/n I didn't mean it like that-" Y/n chuckled shaking her head "I know what you meant it's okay" she stated putting the flower back in the pond.
She walked ahead of them to catch up with Luffy, "see she was fine with it." Nami rolled her eyes "just. be mindful of what you say. who knows what's going on inside that head of hers"
Luffy asked "hey so if you're always welcomed here why do we have to go around the back?" Y/n nodded in agreement, the male stumbled over his words "u-uh well I never use the front entrance, this is more of a VIP entrance."
Y/n couldn't care less about what they were talking about, she only had a big interest in the garden looking over all the different colored flowers and nicely cut garden hedges.
That was until the male stopped "ya'know there's a more exclusive entrance back this way!" Y/n spotted two people one of them was a round man with an odd haircut, while there was a girl with blue hair.
He tossed a knife towards the male "now what the hell are you doing here Usopp?" Y/n leaned closer to Luffy "they don't seem very happy to see him."
The male dubbed as Usopp chuckled nervously "Buchi, buddy, uh Kaya is expecting me." Buchi grabbed Usopp glaring at him "another one of your lies...you're not welcomed here you know that." Usopp tilted his head "I know nothing of the sort. uh I'm here to give Kaya an extra special gift."
Buchi looked as if he was about to say something rude when a polite voice called out to him "Usopp!" the four of the five of the looked over seeing a blonde girl with a pink dress, she held onto the arm of her butler.
"What a wonderful surprise" she smiled, Y/n and the others watch the interaction between the two "Kaya! happy birthday" she looked a little shocked "you remembered."
Y/n pouted looking at Luffy "you never remembered my birthday" he snapped his head over "yes I do!" Y/n dead panned "when's my birthday?" she questioned, he stopped for a second as if he was deep in thought. Y/n sighed "wow some best friend you are." Luffy grabbed her shoulders "I remember I just wasn't expecting that question!"
Y/n laughed "i'm kidding Luf!" she stated patting his head, he let out a sigh of relief "oh...don't do that! that wasn't funny!" Y/n only laughed harder covering her mouth, Luffy let go of her shaking his head.
Usopp pointed behind him "I brought my crew!" Y/n cocked her head to the side as Luffy blinked "is he talking about us?" Kaya lightly waved towards them "nice to meet you! you all must stay for dinner!" she insisted.
Luffy perked up at the mentions of food, as did Y/n "I am kinda of hungry now that you mention it" Luffy smiled "alright when do we eat?" her butler scoffed "you don't. Not dressed like that." Y/n looked down at her clothes wondering what was wrong with them?
Was it too revealing?
Klahadore turned his attention to the girl with blue hair "Sham. show Usopp and his friends to the guest suites. you will bathe and change before dinner" Y/n held her hand up to her nose sniffing, 'well I do smell the seawater so reasonable' she shrugged.
Following the blue haired girl walked past Kaya whispering "happy birthday" to her, Kaya smiled and nodded "thank you" as she walked past Klahadore stared at Y/n intensely. Even though it creeped her out she gave him a polite smile, he looked her up and down as if he was analyzing her.
But that was soon cut short when Zoro stepped in blocking his view "watch where you're staring" he muttered to him before Zoro kept walking staying close to Y/n. Nami watched with a tiny smirk.
Luffy flipped through the different clothes "so many options! what should I wear?" Nami looked back at him "anything you want. when are you going to get the opportunity to wear things this nice?" stepping out from behind a cover up thing (I totally did NOT forget what those are called) she had on a blue and black dress.
"Well what do you think?" she asked Luffy "well, you look like Nami" he shrugged, she sighed "I'll just ask Y/n...wait where is Y/n?" Zoro walked past before stopping Luffy greeting him "Zoro! what you gonna wear?" he asked, Zoro looked around the room "something black."
Luffy looked around "hey Zoro have you seen Y/n?" he asked, Zoro shook his head "nope maybe she's still in the bath" he shrugged. Luffy sighed "i'm gonna go look for her" he stood up leaving the room. Zoro watched him go "hopefully that butler isn't around her." As Nami flipped through the clothes she decided to tease him a a bit.
Looking back she smirked "why? you scared he's gonna steal her from you?" Zoro scoffed "no, I just don't like the way he was looking at her." Nami chuckled "my point exactly." Zoro rolled his eyes muttering "whatever..."
Luffy walked through the large house back to the bathrooms, without thinking he opened the door "Y/n you in here-oh!" Y/n was peacefully soaking in the warm water her tossed back. The water graciously stopped right before it showed off her entire chest.
Opening her eyes she squealed "Luffy!" his cheeks flared up as he quickly shut the door yelling "Sorry!" he hurried back to the room. "did you find her?" Nami asked, Luffy nodded silently his cheeks still burning red.
Zoro stared at him "somethings telling me he saw something he shouldn't have." Nami nodded in agreement.

Author’s Note - Hi! As you might notice this is my first post! It’s also my first time sharing something I’ve written before , but something about that clown awoken something in me :) Let me know if there’s anything I missed tags or warning wise! I have two more chapters done that I’ll release if everything works out.
Chapter One “A Test Run”
You’d been sailing along Buggy’s crew for the last 6 months, helping in raids and preparing for the grandline. After some incidents with an up and comer Buggy had been much less inclined to leave anything up to chance. Now running the ship with the aid of Alvida and hiring on more freaks to service his mission, his goal of the one piece was set in motion, and very little was going to stop this determination.
At first you weren't a particularly skilled fighter, but you could do a bit of maintenance around the ship, and were willing to train at your weak points. When you first joined you were worried about your position as the only other woman on the crew besides Alvida Being surrounded by a considerable amount of dangerous men had you a bit on edge, but Cabaji had made arrangements for you in a small closet converted into private quarters within your first week on the ship. At least that's who you thought made that happen. Throughout these last months you found yourself rising in ranks rather quickly. You’d been gaining some talents in hand to hand combat thanks to training, but making good friends of Cabaji and Moji had you sitting with the upper ranks of the crew sooner than you’d anticipated. And with that you noticed an increase in the quality of life. It was small, but the bathing supplies you were allotted became higher quality, they softened your hair and gave it a warm sweet smell. The food had gotten better, with larger portions. You hadn’t a clue what was happening beyond maybe who’d you been associating with. You seemed to have some power in play but you didn't know why. Until on night while you were out drinking with friends.
It has been a rather torturous day for you and your crew. Buggy had started an aggressive training regiment that left all of you tired and sore. You saw him watch over all of you, barking orders and sneering at anyone who tried to wimp out. You caught his eyes following you as you lunged forward punching the air, practicing your swings. He smirked at you before shifting his gaze elsewhere.
“Train harder! If you ever want to see your captain become king of the pirates you must work till you bleed!” He laughed at the sight of everyone.
God, it sucked. Your arms were aching and you started to really dislike the guy for his cruelty. You grasp at the cold mug of beer in front of you, chugging it down to cool yourself after today's workout. Cabaji and Moji are also exhausted relishing in their own self pity and pain.
“He’s such a tight wad right now. God will he just let up this act for one second? He’s been working us to the bone-“
“Hey, at least you get special treatment, think about how the rest of us are suffering” Moji groans out
You take a second to process what he said. What special treatment? You’d assume at least Buggy’s two right hand men were also getting some benefits.
“What do you mean by special treatment?” You look at them confused.
Moji puffs and takes a swig of his drink. “The fancy smelling soaps, the private room, hell you get almost twice the meat either of us get at meal time- you think we're all getting that? Have you seen the rooms, have you smelt us? You know you've been given special attention this entire time right? We thought you knew?” He points to Cabaji who nods in agreement.
“Yeah and they way you just so happened to go from cannon fodder to the captain’s table in a matter of weeks? We’re friends, don’t get that wrong, but our friendship only got you so far y/n. There were other things getting you to the table that quickly…”
They were both insinuating something, dancing around the elephant in the room, and you wanted to know what it was.
“Why though?”
“Please, you’ve got to be blind to not notice it. He watches you train a little too attentively, his eyes follow you around while you work. He made sure you were right by him at meal times. You're in a private room for ‘your safekeeping’. You get nicer clothes, you get extra beauty sleep , you get extended bathing hours. The captain got it bad- and you’ve never even clocked it?”
You stammered, your brain gets fuzzy. Captain Buggy has been giving you special treatment because he's got a thing for you. You feel a weight in your stomach as you consider all the things lining up in your head. He does look at you funny, in fact he’s looked at you that way since day one of recruitment. Did he hire you for that alone? Did you like him? Not really… He was a good captain until recently but now all you can think about is how hard he's been working you all. As far as you're concerned, whatever Buggy had wanted from you, wasn't gonna happen.
“Oh my god, how did I not notice it- I feel so stupid…” You groan, chugging the rest of your beer. “This entire time, he only had me on the crew to woo me-“ You stick out your tongue and lay your head on the table in defeat.
“Well now that you know, Moji and I have been talking and we think we can use this information to our advantage. Lighten our work load a bit-“
“And what do you mean by that?” You ask imparitively.
“Well here’s the thing now that you know the captain is putty in your hands, let's use that, c'mon take one for the team-“
“AND WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT!”
“Nothing crazy, but the captain has been in such a terrible mood lately and it's causing all of us to suffer- maybe if the girl he likes was a bit nicer, complimented him a bit more, played with her hair, other girly shit. He’d distracted enough to forget he's a total asshole.”
“yeah y/n its not like you have to sleep with him.” Moji motions with his hands in a comical way. “Just use some of that charm and get us a little more time off” he laughs into his drink. If you all hadn’t been so close and also a little drunk you’d punch both of them, you still kinda wanted to punch them…
“You guys are gross. That’ll never work. You are seriously overestimating this ‘feminine charm’ and crush shit, I’m sure captain would looooovvvee to hear how low you think of him right now-“
“No come on, give it a chance, tomorrow all you have to do is smile at him a little more, laugh at jokes-and and…” Cabaji thinks for a second…
“Touch his shoulder!” Moji finishes, “Then I bet he’ll let up! You’ll see! Just try it, our situation isn’t gonna get any worse if it doesn’t work…”
Moji and Cabaji jokingly give you puppy dog eyes and pout “Please for your best friends~”
“Ugh fine, but you owe me, both of you are taking over my chores for a week after tomorrow-“
“Deal!” They say in unison snickering to themselves.
The next day comes and it's time for you to embarrass yourself in front of everyone it seems. You take note to take a little extra time to get ready, nothing crazy , but looking disheveled isn't gonna help the plan. You make your way to the dock for training when you see Buggy, Cabaji, and Moji taking. Your two friends spot you first giving a wink and a smile and they say goodbye to the captain leaving you alone as you approach him. You take a deep breath and step forward.
“Good morning Captain Buggy~”
You try to be a little more melodic in the way you say his name, though it doesn't quite roll off your tongue that well. Buggy certainly didn’t notice that though cause he was already a little jumpy at your more aggressive approach. He blushes a bit and stifles a cough.
“G-Good morning Y/n, what brings you here this morning, shouldn’t you start training?” He's trying to keep cool, but now that you are well aware of his feelings you know he's bluffing. You can’t believe it but this might actually work.
“Is it so -bad- I wanted to greet my captain this morning?” God you are deluding yourself, but you do a tiny pout and the look on this man's face shifts. He's a mess and you have control.
“NOT AT ALL-“ He starts waving his hands. “I’m just not used to you being so…um…cordial-“ He giggles a bit to himself. Cordial was not the word he wanted to say and you knew it. You shift your eyes over to the two idiots watching the spectacle. They mock you with kissy faces, and like a lightbulb going off in one of their pea sized brains, they mimic the shoulder touch you agreed to. With a quick breath you look at Captain Buggy directly in the eye, batting your lashes, and curling your lips to talk.
“Captain Buggy?~” You let his name sit for a minute. He looks back at you, gulps, and waits.
“Yes?”
You take your hand lightly touching his bicep and softly rubbing it up to his shoulder. He jolts ever so slightly under your touch.
“I was just wondering what today's regiment was? We’re all so tired from yesterday's workout, and while we…I want to make sure we can serve you to the best of our abilities. I was wondering when our next rest day was?”
He gulps again, heavier, as if this man had swallowed a rock. He coughs to alleviate some of the tension in the air. And though you don’t fully know it yet he thinks he’s found his in to sweeten you up to him a bit. After all a girl like you does deserve a break, but if he only gives you a day off he’ll expose himself to everyone. He's gotta play it cool, still fulfilling your wishes but make it seem like he's in control.
“Why you happened to ask me on the perfect day doll-“ A nickname he’d never confronted you with before, but with his ego inflated he thought he'd slip that in “I was just about to tell the entire crew that all training was going to be canceled today” He moved his body to the crew to announce it but keeps his eyes on you expectely. “Proceed with normal chores, but today will be light work for all-'' He smiled at how great this plan is. Surely you’d start seeing him in better lighting with this generous offer.
Cabaji and Moji are celebrating by themselves at their hiding spot. Hi fiving each other and shooting you thumbs up. You look back at your captain, fully unaware that you’d scemed this outcome. You were suprised it worked this well, but this outcome made it seem like this was a much easier feat than you were expecting. You’d be able to get a lot more with very little it seems. And now that Cabaji and Moji have taken up your chores for the week, no training and no chores meant a full day of rest and relaxation for you. You could really get used to this. You smile to yourself, but Buggy, who really hasn't kept his eyes off of you this entire time, takes it as a compliment.
“ Take some of that much needed rest y/n, you deserve for how hard you work. After all, it's like you said you need energy to serve your captain.”
You shudder in your head at the implications of that last statement before grinning past the grimace on your face and leaving with a sweet plasticy “Thank you Captain Buggy-“ He waves you off, and you can definitely see his gaze linger on your ass.
“Gross…” You think to yourself.
Later that night you and the two others relish in a successful mission.
“It fucking worked!” Cabaji yelled clinking glasses with yours.
“It fucking worked…” You stare blankly groanin to yourself in self deprecation.
“Aw c'mon think about it we’d probably get a whole week off if you just sucked his d-“
You smack him before he can even finish the thought. You weren’t gonna become some toy just to get a bit more vacation time. You wouldn’t mind having the weekends off though, especially when you were docked in new cities. You could go shopping more, maybe go to the markets, try the spas… You could embarrass yourself a little if it meant that maybe…
“Listen I’ll agree it worked better than expected but we can’t jump to conclusions and say this’ll work all the time. Chances are this was a one time thing. Captain Buggy may not be the epitome of self restraint and class, but he’s not stupid-“
He’s stupid. Sure every day didn’t immediately become a luxury cruise in paradise but you'll be damned if your little giggles and hair flips didn't lighten the load for everyone around you. The captain was happier, calmer, and now that he was convinced he started hooking you in, he didn't take out a lot of that repressed anger he’d built up on the crew. It was smooth sailing for the most part. You’d say hello to him in the mornings, goodnight to him before leaving for your own quarters. You’d refer to him with full title as Captain Buggy, enunciate the words in a way he found irresistible, and of course Mojis patent pending ‘shoulder touch’. He swears you need to bottle and sell it. He was putty off this little attention you gave him, and for how little it was, you'd oblige to give it to him. You wonder if anyone had picked up on it, but you probably would have been mocked to hell for it, if anyone actually knew. So in secrecy you kept up this little crush act for as long as it could run.

ShuggyUta family is so cute and funny bc like.
One one hand - AAAA CUTE Uta one day having the EPIPHANY that half of her hair is WHITE, and HAIR DYE EXISTS so she hunts down the closest blue to Buggy's hair. She dyes it in the middle of the night, and either comes out next morning completely casual OR bursts out like "DAD, PAPA, LOOK NOW I HAVE BOTH OF YOU WITH ME :DD"
They both implode immediately ((and Buggy gives her the "The sentiment is so sweet baby, but remember you never ever have to change your appearance to be worthy of love. If you want to, want it for yourself, okay? We love you no matter what" talk))
Then there's also the shenanigans.
Buggy: .... whatchya got there?
Shanks and Uta, both holding one of Luffy's hands, holding cups in the other: ........ smoothies?
<><><><><>
Buggy: Shanks so help me, I TOLD YOU not to get another kid-
Shanks: whaaaaaat? Hahaha, no Bugaboo. You told me very specifically I am not to adopt another child :))
Buggy: so why are there two new children in the kitchen
Luffy: I adopted them!
Uta: we have big brothers now!
Shanks:
Buggy:
Shanks: you told me not to adopt anyone. You didn't tell Lu or Uta.
Buggy: alright. That one's on me.
<><><><><>
Rayleigh, surprise visiting his kids: hello my children, I have swam across the Grandline- is that a kid?
Buggy, Uta on one hip, Sabo on his shoulders, Luffy on his back and Ace clinging to his leg and glaring death at Ray: four, actually.
Ray:
Buggy:
Ray: I'm a grandpa? And you didn't TELL ME??
<><><><><>
Shanks: happy mothers day, Bug!
Buggy: i'm... not a woman?
Shanks: maybe not but you ARE a botto-
Buggy: punches him I'm keeping the roses and chocolates
<><><><><>
Buggy and Shanks teaching them the pirates code, weapons, Haki, sailing, navigation, etc.
Shanks has a moment of "is it really okay to have them on the ship? We were in danger, Bug, it hurt us, what if we're hurting THEM-??"
Buggy smacks him. "We're learning from our dads' mistakes, Red. It's not perfect. We're not perfect. We just need to be the best we can and always put them first. We need to communicate. If we leave them, we can't protect them. If we leave, they'll be on their own. This is the lesser evil. We need to have their security as our priority. We're pirates, but we're parents, too. We can not commit to one over the other, but we can't let it hurt our babies. They're ours now. We are NOT leaving them behind."
<><><><><>
Ace gets a crash course in his history. It's rocky at first, but it's only bc he asks Buggy and Shanks ((separately, mind you)) about "if Gold Roger Had A Kid".
Buggy responds with a snort. "I mean, he kinda had two? But if we had another, then word, I guess? I'd be a little annoyed."
"Bc of his blood?"
"What? No. I'd be pissed that Captain didn't tell me. Asshole move, that. Why do you ask, freckles?"
Shanks, meanwhile, just shrugs. "Ya know how they say blood is thicker than water?"
"... yeah?"
"Yeah, it's bullshit. I wouldn't really care. If Captain had a kid, that's just not my business. I bled with him, for him, and he did for me. I think of him as my father, so I guess that would be sort of like... a little sibling, maybe? But it'd be up to the kid. Your blood doesn't define you, Ace. That's a lesson all good pirates know."
"......... mm."
<><><><><>
Sabo, no warning, in the middle of dinner: I'm a runaway noble.
Shanks: oh neat.
Buggy: oh? Which family? Want me to rob them for you?
Sabo: you aren't mad???
Uta, shrugging: it doesn't matter. You're still a feral jungle brat. Besides, if anyone in the family passes as a fancy pants noble, it's me!
Buggy: 🤨
Uta: ... and mama Bug. I guess.
Luffy: I don't care. Sabo is Sabo.
Ace: yeah, what he said.
Buggy: I will still rob them though.
<><><><><>
That's all I got rn baaaaiiii
Help these are all great 😭 You made my day with this <3
They just keep adopting kids and expanding the family. When they grow up, they get their partners and Zoro, Yamato, Koala, and Perona are there 24/7 because these kids cannot have a normal relationship that isn't based on codependency and both Shanks and Buggy have to deal with four more people around.
Ace telling them he is Roger's child and Sabo telling them he is a noble??? That kills me. They'd be so supportive and protective of them, too. It kills me.
Also, Buggy would ADORE these kids. How sweet it is to be loved by them 25
“You got separated form your crew? How many people?”
“Two, Zoro and Sanji are my mates and my crewmates!” Luffy proudly explained. “Is this your house?” He asked, looking around.
“No, I don't honestly know whose house this is. Everyone in the village left, hiding in a shelter just outside of town. They're trying to avoid conflict with the Buggy pirates,”
“Is he that scary?” Luffy asked. He only knew what Sanji and Zoro had talked about…not that they mentioned much. Or he paid attention to it.
“He's famous for two things, only recruiting omegas and his love of cannons,” Luffy stopped paying attention to what the other alpha was saying long ago.
“Why isn't there anyone in the village? Sanji promised me a feast if thire was anyone open,”
“I just told you thire avoiding they pirates in town! Are you even listening to me!?” Nami shouted at him.
“Ahh! So you're stealing from the empty houses.”
“That's despicable!! Didn't I just tell you I only steal from pirates! Rich people when I get lucky.” The alpha rubbed her head as if she had a headache. “Don't compare me to thouse common house robbers. Ugh, it's so tiring trying to talk to you,” Luffy laughed. She was fun even if she was too serious. “My goal is to get a hundred million beli! Then I'm going to buy a certain village.”
“Wow! That's a lot of money, so you have to steal from lots of pirates, how?”
“You see, I have a plan,” Luffy watched as she pulled a floded up pice of papper from her shirt. “this is a map to the grandline! If I can get a better boat, I'll head thire and steal from even better pirates! Or at least sell it for a good price,” Nami was smiling again as she stated at him. “Wanna join forces? You are strong, and that will be useful for my plans, I promise to share with you.”
“Do you know how to navigate?” Sanji had been grumbly as he started at the maps. He kept saying he wasn't a navigator but that he couldn't trust Zoro not to get them lost.
“Yup! I'm an expert when it comes to navigation. You'll be hard pressed to find anyone as good as I am!” Nami bragged.
“I see! That's great! We're also on our way to the grandline!” Luffy there his hands up in the air with excitement.
“Really?!”
“Yeah! You should join our crew as our navigator! Become a member of my crew! My first non mate crew member!”
“Hell no!” Nami got angry with him all of a sudden.
“Why not?”
“I forgot you said you're a pirate. Forget everything. I don't like pirates. I hate them, I've changed my mind about teaming up with you. I hate pirates more than anything else in the world.” Nami slammed her hands down on the table. “I only like money and minka!”

Chapter 106
we're already seeing the crazy unpredictable weather of the grandline.
miss wednesday says that you can only trust the log pose for the unpredictable grandline weather, but i bet having a really good navigator is still essential to surviving the grandline.
just love how zoro can sleep in the chaos going on around him.
here we start to see the bounds of oda's creativity when it comes to the islands in the one piece world.
log poses take time to record the magnetic field of the island you're on, so the time you you need to spend on said island varies.
never trust an island where they welcome pirates with open arms.
Chapter 107
revealed that the unluckies, mr 9 and miss wednesday work for an organization called baroque. the unluckies seem to be messengers.
the town mayor is mr 8 and the sister is his partner miss monday.
it seems when you kill someone who has a bounty and turn them in to the marines their value drops by 30%.
revealed by zoro that this island is inhabited by bounty hunters who works for an organization called baroque works. zoro was apparently propositioned by them when he was still a bounty hunter, but he turned them down.
Chapter 108
gotta love zoro handeling these bounty hunters while the others are out of commission and getting to test out his new swords.
it's funny that these bounty hunters think that the wanted poster is wrong about luffy being the one with the 30 million bounty, because he looks so unassuming and that it's actually zoro who is the one with the bounty, because he's so terrifying.

⌨ + Bring Me the Horizon? 🖤
It' actually from "Beyond the Horizon" shht 😅
"We're leaving."
Shanks didn’t wait for his men to catch up and hurried towards the port in long, angry strides.
"We're going to Windmill Village to stock up on provisions. Then we'll make for the grandline. It's time someone put an end to this nonesense."
"Did you just say we're headed for the grandline???" Benn called after him, not sure wether or not he'd heard that one right, but his captain seemed in no talking mood.
The door behind him opened once more and Buggy stepped out onto the street. The clown looked even worse than Shanks had, sporting an impressive black eye and a nasty cut splitting one of his eyebrows. Other than the red haired pirate, he seemed to be in an exceptionally good mood for someone who'd just had the crap beaten out of him. When he flashed Benn a crooked grin there was blood on his teeth.
"What the hell happened in there?" the Red Force's first mate demanded to know.
Buggy took his sweet time silently mulling over wether or not the man in front of him was deserving of an answer until he finally shrugged as if to say might as well.
"You might wanna keep an eye on your Captain," he quipped. "He' probably shouldn't be making life altering decisions for himself or others right now."
"Oh yeah? And why's that?"
That bloody smile grew even wider, reminding Benn why even as a kid he hadn't been overly fond of clowns. Creepy freak.
"Because I just told him [cut for spoiler]
... that his daughter calls me Uncle Buggy."
"His what?"

The lost Princess of the ocean - eight.
Masterlist
You were still sitting in the cabin, having fallen asleep against the wall. Nami was perched on a stool beside the bed, a large book in her hand as she read to Zoro. Luffy had walked in and the two were arguing quietly. You woke, opened your eyes but stayed as still as possible, not wanting to interrupt them.
“Don't you have a dream?” Luffy asked.
“Yeah. Right now, it's for Zoro to not die in that bed.” There was a hint of fear in her words.
“But isn't there something that you want?
Something more. More than anything else in this world.” He was pleading with her.
“Not everyone gets to follow their dreams.” Nami stormed from the room, leaving Luffy with you. You slowly stand up and walk around the bed. Tentatively you placed a hand on his shoulder and gave it a squeeze. Luffy's dark eyes looked up at you and he gave a small smile.
“Y/n, you know you're part of this crew right? Even if…if Zoro doesn't…” he couldn't bring himself to say the words out loud, “you have a place here, with us.” his hand tapped your shoulder.
“Thank you, captain.” You whisper. A question you'd feared to ask finally answered.
“How's he doing?” Usopp asks as he steps into the room.
“He hasn't said a word.” Luffy sighed, helis arms lent on the bed.
“Didn't Zeff say we're supposed to talk to him? Tell him stories?” the newest crew member asked as he held onto one of the ropes holding up the bed.
“What would I say?” Luffy looked down at his friend.
“Whatever pops in your head. Just speak from the gut.” Usopp shrugs.
“My gut hasn't been so great lately.”
“At least he'll know it's you.” You say quietly.
“What do you got to lose?” Usopp agrees with you.
“Hey, Zoro.” Luffy sits up straight, “What's up? I just wanted to tell you that..Let me start over. I'm just gonna Hi, Zoro. Hi. You know, it's-”
“Luffy! Luffy!” Nami came running through the ship meeting everyone in the kitchen.
“The Arlong Pirates are at Baratie. We have to leave now.” She explained.
“What? Why? Why should we leave?” Luffy asks.
“Because they're looking for you.” She Huff's.
“Me?”
“And the map.” Nami quickly adds.
“Those fishmen will tear this place apart if Zeff doesn't turn him over.” Sanji started to walk away.
“Where are you going?” Luffy asked.
“If Baratie's in danger, I need to be there.”
“I'm coming with you.” The captain said.
Nami looked at them in disbelief, “Did you not hear what I just said? They are hunting you. We need to run.”
“I'm with Nami on this one. I'm really not
trying to ruffle any feathers or scales.” Usopp interjected.
“I'm not running. We're going to protect this place.” Luffy was stoic in his words
“This isn't your fight. Why would you do that?” Sanji asked, his hands on his hips.
“You fed us.” Luffy said matter-of-factly.
“Look, I know this crew. Their captain, Arlong, has the highest bounty in all of the East Blue. You do not want to mess with him.” Nami was panicking.
“It sounds like he messed with us first.” The grin returned to Luffy's face.
“Luffy, please. Please.” She pled with him.
“I can't let innocent people get hurt because of me. If those fishmen guys want a fight,
we're gonna give them one.” he turns to you and Nami, “You stay with the ship and protect the map. Hmm? It's gonna be safe with you.” He claps Nami on the shoulder.
The three men dart out of the room.
“Stay with Zoro.” Nami tells you.
“But I-”
“No go, he's defenceless at the moment.” The strain in her voice gave you uneasy feeling but you followed her instructions and ran back to your cabin.
Zoro shuffled slightly and you ran over to him.
“Y/n” his voice was low.
A gunshot outside makes you jump against your own skin.
“Stay still, Zoro, please. Everything will be okay.” You say taking hold of his hand. Your touch seems to sooth Zoro enough for him to fall back to sleep.
Out the corner of your eye you see Nami charge down the hallway she stops and comes into the room, the Grandline map in her hand. She steps up to Zoro and sighs.
“I told you in the bar I didn't have any friends, but the truth is, I couldn't let myself have them because I always end up hurting the people closest to me.” She speaks to him.
“What are you doing?” You ask, fearing you already knew the answer.
“Y/n just stay here, please if Arpong sees you he will know who are and he'll take you. Please stay here.” A tear drops down her face, “I'm sorry.” She runs from the room.
It takes you a moment to start moving again but when you do get off the ship you see Sanji stripping his shirt and diving into the water and dragging Luffy back up.
“Where's Nami.” Luffy asked through his strained panting.
“She's gone. She's a member of Arlong’s crew” Usopp explained.
“No, she can't be.”
You felt your heart breaking for him. A dripping Sanji stands beside you.
“Thank you.” You say quietly before helping Usopp to lead Luffy back onto the ship.

CW: canon-typical violence, smooches, sexy times, second go at life try again style story, 18+ only
Chapter 12: Requested
Thanks to the eternal log poses you nearly sacrificed your sight for, the Kid Pirates were able to move through the first half of the Grand Line as they pleased. Much to your dismay however, 'as they pleased' seemed to be systematically checking out every single island they could find. Including ones that weren't the current destination.
You knew the Grandline wasn't 100% mapped out, but you were surprised at every little scrap of rock Eustass was able to find and impressed by his general curiosity. Once the Captain's curiosity was sated, and the stores were refilled, the crew was off to the next location. The Kid Pirates relaxed by being on the seas, and you were starting to think you were the only one who still preferred dry land.
Weeks of traveling with the crew passed by and you realized a few things. One of your initial assumptions about the Kid Pirates was correct – they weren't the terrors that the Marines and the Government had made them out to be. They weren't saints, not by any stretch of the word, but you left a lot of villages intact, and one time the crew helped rebuild a town that had been destroyed by a squall that had tore through just before you had all arrived. The only time things went sour was when someone from outside the crew started something.
The crew was, during those events, merciless.
One day you were looking through the eternal log poses and seeing if there were any for places you didn't know anything about. You got through most of them when you came across the eternal pose for Water 7 and were reminded of a conversation from weeks ago when you had utilized Trafalgar Law's ability and freaked everyone out.
You took off from the storage room and found the Captain and Killer talking. You tossed the log pose toward Kid and smiled as he caught it without looking – his observation haki was finally improving.
"What's up, brat?" He asks, looking at the eternal pose.
"We need to go there."
"Water 7's the shipwright island, isn't it?" Killer tilts his head. "We've got Boogie, Reck and Kid, we don't need a shipwright."
"You're not wrong, but Water 7 also has a scrap island. It's so big it survives the yearly Aqua Laguna. The residents don't exactly hang out there, so it's a good place to see how much I can push Kid's devil fruit ability." You explain. "Plus, the city itself is just cool. They're okay with pirates so long as you don't go berserk on 'em, and even if you don't need repairs, Galley-La's a sight worth the price of renting a few bulls."
"How do you know so much about Water 7?" Kid asks, setting the pose on the table.
"It's near Guanhao." You admit and your face darkens. "Guanhao's where they train CP kids. I guess while we're on the topic I'd like to request we don't ever go there."
"Request?"
"Well, I can't order you, Captain," you admit with a smile that's bright compared to your earlier expression. "But I still stand by my original sentiment."
"Better a pirate than dead, and better dead than caught." Kid muses, remembering your first day on the ship. "Sure thing, brat. So long as Paradise doesn't slam us into Guanhao on its own, we won't go there."
"And Water 7?"
"You and Killer can get us on course," Kid stretches. "An island full of scrap sounds like a good place for most of the crew."
Sending both you and Killer to get the ship on course was Kid's way of dismissing Killer for the day and letting the two of you have time together. You had heard him yelling at his friend one day about how the whole crew knew the two of you were together, and why in the hell was Killer there with Kid and not with you.
Killer had explained that you both had agreed that your loyalty to the captain had to come first. Ever since then, Eustass Kid, scourge of the seas, was proving to you that he was really just the biggest, softest ball of rage to ever sail the seas. Not that you were ever going to say it to his face, you liked staying on the ship.
You slipped your hands into Killer's as you made your way through the ship. The gentle returned squeeze was enough to make you smile. You marveled at how much softness you had found in a man named Killer. How much kindness that slipped from someone whose face was only shown to you.
"Do you have night watch?" Killer asks.
"Mm, not tonight. I'm not back on the rotation for another few days. We'll be in Water 7 before it's my turn again." You swing his arm back and forth with a little more energy than needed. "Trying to make plans, or something?"
"A little." He takes over your oversized arm swinging and twirls you around before holding onto your hand again. "You'll have to behave though."
You chuckle quietly. "I'm not sure how you mean that."
"We've run House out of condoms." Killer says and you feel your whole body go hot. "We need to behave," he emphasizes the word by squeezing your hand, "until we reach Water 7."
"Oh." You clear your throat, but your face is starting to ache from how red you are.
"Surprised?"
"... A little. I mean, I was educated, in a manner of speaking, but, well..." You weren't sure how to explain it.
"Touchy subject?"
"No, not really." You admit. "It's just, I was educated about it in a very clinical way and I was supposed to eventually start using it to my advantage. You know, for missions."
"I can see how that would put it in a different light."
"Yeah, no one told me a good orgasm would have me considering taking up a religion."
Killer stops in the hallway, his hand slipping from yours. "... I'm afraid to ask."
You turn toward him and smile, putting your hands together in front of you in mock prayer. "Either I can thank the gods for what you do to me, or I could just worship you directly." You wink as you turn back toward the navigation room.
There's a pause, a loud bang behind you and a grumble from Killer. "I said you needed to behave."
"And you can't exactly punish me for misbehaving right now, can you?" You say in a sing song voice before dashing off toward the navigation room.
Killer doesn't reply, and it's not until later that you learn why. By the time dinner rolls around you've forgotten that you had even teased him.
. . . . . .
Stepping into Killer's room after the two of you had cleaned up the kitchen post dinner, you stretched and hear his mask come off, turning around just in time for warm strong arms to wrap around you in a hug.
"Snuggling and cuddling for two days might not be awful," you admit, nuzzling your face into his chest.
"I had some slightly different things in mind," Killer says, leaning down and kissing you. The soft and gentle action pushes into you more, and he holds your head in his hands as he pushes the kiss deeper. You let his tongue in even though you know you both need to mind how far you go, but the deep persistent kiss is stealing your breath, and you realize you're willing to let him do as he pleases.
The dangers and allure of pleasure are maybe a little stronger than you've understood, now that you're faced with a situation where you're not allowed to give in.
The kiss breaks enough for a single gasp of air before he's taking control of you again, pulling moans up from your chest and letting his hands wander over you. You feel resistance against your arms and step back as Killer tightens the rope around your waist, pinning your arms to your side. You start to ask what he's doing when he spins you around and wraps your wrists in rope behind your back, bringing it up to your shoulders and turning you around again so that you're facing him once more.
You struggle, but you're already well secured. Killer's one of the fastest on the crew when dealing with the rigging so you're not surprised by his speed.
"What're you doing?" Your question isn't angry or demanding, it's curious and a little confused.
"Punishing you," he says flatly, yanking your pants and underwear down in a rough motion. It takes you a second to steady yourself, but you can't ask for clarification as the rough feel of rope presses against your slit. Killer pulls it enough to make snug against you, but not enough to hurt as the last length of rope is tied to the rope just above your wrists.
You can squirm a little, and nothing is so tight as to cut off circulation, but every movement makes the rope between your thighs shift. Killer pulls your pants back up to your mid-thigh, and tightens your belt, holding your legs in place.
You could feel your heart speeding up. It was less about being bound and more about being half-undressed and unable to do anything about it.
Starting with the blindfold during your first kiss, you had certainly expanded the variety of things that happened between you and Killer. You had asked him to teach you, because you didn't know what you would or wouldn't like, and so ground rules had been set and you'd both explored boundaries together.
Maybe it was because the crew had named you Brat before anything else, but you had a tendency to act exactly that way with Killer. At least as much as you could get away with. Though you were sure he liked it, even if he hadn't explicitly said as much by this point.
Killer stands in front of you, reaching around and grabbing your ass roughly as he kisses your neck just as harshly. You initial gasp of surprise turns into a cry of pleasure and you wriggle in his grasp, the rope shifting and teasing against your clit and adding to everything else.
He nips your ear, his voice his low and rough, and you know he's barely restraining himself. "This is a punishment, but the rules still apply. Understand?"
You nod, "Y-yes."
"Good. I need you to rate that top, brat." He commands, stepping back.
You look down at your shirt. "Uh, a three, I guess?"
"Perfect." Killer pulls the red sash away from his pants and covers your eyes. Once its tied in place and you're plunged into a kind of red darkness you feel a sharp, rough tug, followed by the sound of your shirt being ripped off.
The action pushes you off-balance a little, with your legs held at the thighs you almost topple, but Killer steadies you by grabbing the simple rope harness. The rough shift against your clit elicits a moan from you as you're steadied, and Killer pushes your bra up over your breasts.
Now that he's not touching you, you're not sure where Killer is. His haki's advanced enough that you can't easily detect him, even if you concentrate, and you're not in a state to concentrate right now.
Random, tickling touches dance across your body just as you're getting ready to call out for him. Each touch causes you to flinch and gasp, a mix of warmth, surprise, and legitimate tickling. Your sounds start to turn whiny as the teasing is making you want more.
Killer's naked body presses against your back, tilting and turning your head and kissing you deeply as his other hand pulls on the rope. Both actions cause you to gasp and squirm into the kiss, and when he breaks the rough kiss he steadies you by grabbing your breasts. Holding you against him as his fingers tease your nipples, the hot erect flesh of his cock pushing against the palms of your hands from behind you.
"Haa... are you sure this is punishment for me?" You gasp, doing your best to move your hands against his erection.
"Completely," he answers, moving away from your hands before he moves you to a different part of the room. "Keep your hips up, no matter what." He commands, forcing your shoulders down until your chest and face are resting on the mattress, and your ass in the air.
The new position pulls the rope a little and a pleasurable shiver runs through you.
Killer pulls the rope to the side and you feel two of his fingers push into you. Your legs shudder, and your hips drop a bit as you moan, but a sharp smack on your ass brings your hips back up. The sharp sting fades quickly, mingling with the rising pleasure as Killer's fingers go to work in your embarrassingly wet pussy.
"Seems I should tie you up more often." Killer muses.
"Haa – what god wants, he can have," you tease, understanding at this point exactly what you're being punished for.
"Hm, I'm not keen on being called Master, but you can call me Kamisama, if you want to brat." Killer agrees, pushing his fingers in deeper.
You moan and shudder as the pleasure begins to build in you. It's getting harder to keep your hips in the air and sharp slaps come down on your ass half a dozen times before you're shivering in pleasure. Once you start to beg Killer to let you cum he pulls his fingers out of you, wiping his wet hand off between your thighs. You start to ask why he did that when you feel his cock push in between your thighs, his hands pushing your legs together tightly to create friction.
You're only able to keep your feet under you because he's holding onto you, thrusting between your thighs until you can hear his breathing getting rough. It doesn't take long, and it's obvious he is enjoying the entire scenario just as much as you are.
He's gone from your thighs suddenly and a second later you can feel the warm, sticky liquid hit your ass, stinging a little against the redness from the earlier smacks as it slides down your thighs. It's almost enough to push you over the edge, knowing he's enjoying himself to that point, but you don't get the release you're looking for.
Instead, he returns to teasing you. Running his nails over your sensitive skin, moving you around roughly and pinching the sensitive parts of you while reminding you that this is a punishment. He brings you to the edge again before stopping. Again.
You're trying to keep your frustration from showing too much, but you whimper as he pulls away from you for the fourth time.
The salty tip of his dick presses against your lips as he steadies your head with a hand. You open your mouth without protest and take him in, licking and sucking and purposefully making wet sloppy sounds. It was the first time you'd had him in your mouth while your arms were bound. Killer pulls the sash away from your eyes and after blinking against the soft light of the room a few times you look up at him.
There's a pleased smirk on Killer's lips, as he brushes your hair back from your face.
"That is quite the sight," he muses, his fingers tightening in your hair. "Hum for me if you want it in your mouth, little one."
You hum and begin to suck a little harder, trying to take a little more of him into your throat. Killer tugs on your hair involuntarily in response, hissing a little before he shifts his hips just a little, helping to push himself deeper into your mouth.
You could see his entire body shudder as his climax went down your throat, forcing you to swallow from how deep he was in your mouth. Your eyes had watered from the ordeal, but you could imagine the expression on his face. Cheeks red, mouth panting, eyes on you like they always were.
He sits you on the bed, after he takes a moment to compose himself, and loosens your belt, removing your pants and underwear completely. He kisses you deeply, tongue pushing into you as he forces you to lay back on the bed. You're moaning and squirming under him, needy and breathless, begging as the kiss breaks.
"Please, please let me cum Kamisama," you beg, trying to move enough to find release from the rub of the rope.
"Think you've learned your lesson?"
You nod emphatically. "I feel like I'm losing my mind, please."
Killer kisses you, "Tell me when you're close, you won't like me if you cum without permission, brat."
"Haa – yes, I will, please, please just let me scream for you."
The grin on his face sends a shiver through your body and he kisses you softly, working down the length of your body with light, teasing kisses. There's a tug at the rope as it's cut, and he moves it out of the way. His hands grab your legs and spread them open wide before he leans down, and licks slowly up your slit before his tongue starts teasing your clit.
The action almost makes you orgasm as a powerful shudder rushes through your body from the sensation of his tongue.
"Holy shit," you gasp, squirming with your arms still bound under you. "T-that almost, haa," you whimper a bit before Killer continues.
You're so on edge and so turned on that it only takes a minute before you're reluctantly informing Killer about the impending orgasm. "I'm c-close, please, don't st-stop!" You can feel it almost hit you before he stops, and you can't contain your frustration anymore.
"No, ah! Killer, please! Please, you're literally killing me, please let me-," his fingers push into you and his mouth assaults your clit roughly, and the pleasure crashes into you suddenly, shattering your begging. "HNNNGH, fuck!"
Your whole-body shudders and tenses from the rush of pleasure. It almost teeters on painful it hits you so hard, and Killer doesn't stop. He continues until you're making a wet sloppy mess on the bed, a second orgasm building while your body's still shivering from the first one.
You're almost in tears begging him to stop, but the second orgasm pushes into you and sinks into your bones. You tense and thrash against the ropes, your body curling in every conceivable way as he continues to abuse your clit until you've given every last whimper and shiver you can.
Your trembling and exhausted body is slowly untangled from the ropes by Killer, who is careful to "accidentally" caress the sensitive parts of your body as he works, pulling twitches and whimpers from you as he pleases. You would call him cruel, but you can't argue that you enjoy every minute of it.
If you didn't, well, there were rules in place for that.
"How are you feeling, (Y/N)?" Killer asks softly, kissing the tears pooling at the sides of your eyes.
"I think my bones have melted." You admit with a soft chuckle, reaching out and running your hands over his arms and shoulders. "I realize it was a punishment, but I think I'll need your help to get cleaned up."
"It will be my pleasure, little one." He says with a smile, lifting you into his arms and walking into the bathroom.

As the Stars Burn On Chapter 36
Masterlist. Ao3.
The Secret Island
Lucy honestly expected the island to be right next to them; the fog was too thick for Merry to see very far. Instead, as the crew piled out of the galley, newest crewmate in tow, they saw something utterly impossible; the sun. Much like Enies Lobby, the sky above the island was lit with perfect, unending sunlight, made even more strange by the fact that the fog twisted and turned all around it, seemingly just barely kept at bay. A beacon in the dead sea, the island sat unmolested among the cursed air.
It made ice crawl down Lucy's spine.
"What's that?" Lily called, before taking off. He came back up lugging a barrel, the buoys attached brightly colored things at odds with the locale.
Smashing it open revealed a glass bottle with a letter inside, which Nami dutifully pulled out and read. "'If you're a pirate among pirates among pirates, welcome to Omatsuri Island! Our luxury spas are beat only by our fine cuisine and legendary entertainment. Come enjoy the finest vacation spot the Grandline boasts!'"
"It's a trap," most of the crew deadpanned.
"Yohoho! I had no idea there was another island in the Triangle."
"There shouldn't be," Lucy insisted. "This whole thing stinks."
"Nami," Luffy called. "Read that first part again."
"Eh? Uh, 'If you're a pirate among pirates among pirates-'"
"Yosh! I've decided. We're going."
"Dare I ask why, oh fearless leader?" Laxus said.
"Because we're pirates. Duh."
"That's an awful reason!"
Nami groaned, staring at her wrist. "It sucks but I think he wins this one."
"Don't say it," Lucy begged.
"That's where our log is pointing, so that's where we're going."
☉
The island was a lush jungle; tangled greenery stretching from shore to the far reaching distance, a single mountain piercing the foliage to stretch straight into the clouds. From where they anchored, no one and nothing was immediately obvious.
"I don't like it," Gajeel announced. Laxus, similarly, held himself tense. "Something about this place smells wrong."
"The sound is off," Laxus agreed.
"How?"
"I don't know. It just...is."
"That's comforting," Lucy muttered. She took a few steps forward, scanning the deep green and tangled brown of the flora. Reaching out, she ran her fingers through a few leaves. They were wet with condensation, soft with life. Something tugged at her, and she couldn't help but take a few steps forward.
"Bunny." Pausing, she turned to find Gajeel offering his hand, still standing on the sandy shore. "Don't go far from the group."
"Right. Sorry." Despite her intentions, she couldn't quite pull herself back out of the forest. She wanted-
"Yosh!" Luffy yelled, taking off through the trees, the rest of the crew left to scramble after him. Whatever thought she had vanished, replaced with exasperation. "Let's go explore."
"Yohoho! Our captain is quite the lively man, isn't he?"
"You have no idea."
With little other choice, the crew began the trek into the forest. The wind blew hot, getting tangled up in the shade until Lucy couldn't quite figure out what temperature she was meant to be feeling. Vines and roots grabbed at them, leaves and branches poking at her hair until she felt like she was a mess and desperately wanted a bath. At least there were no bugs biting at her.
"I thought this was meant to be a resort," Nami complained. She smacked a particularly clingy vine away. "I wanted a spa treatment."
"Stop whining," Zoro muttered.
"Watch how you talk to her," Sanji snapped.
"You want to go, dart-brow?!"
"Enough." Laxus snapped his teeth at them, lightning sparking across his shoulders. "Stop acting like children."
"Always so immature," Lucy breathed. Ahead, Luffy stumbled into a clearing and she struggled to catch up. Abruptly, the trees opened to another shoreline, the sandy beach dragging her in as she tried to stop, eyes wide. On their right, the ocean stretched out, bright and blue all the way until the visible edge where the Florian fog was held at bay; to their left, a castle towered over the island. Stone and marble were carved and built into a massive, three towered stronghold, with large, arching windows, many stained vivid colors. Even over the massive stone wall that kept its perimeter, Lucy could make out colorful houses and just the edges of twisting streets and alleys.
"So much for this island being empty," Robin noted.
Two wooden gates set in the front of the wall swung open, music suddenly blaring out from all directions. Usopp jumped, hiding behind Sanji only to get kicked back into the open. At the front of the procession, an elephant trudged out, decorated in jewels and bright fabrics, two figures standing on the palanquin attached to its back. One was a tall, older man, with dark hair and beard, with a brightly colored flower sitting on his shoulder, dancing along to the music. The other was smaller, a young boy with shaggy blonde hair falling around his face, brown eyes just peeking out as he stared at Lucy. She smiled and waved, trying to put him at ease; it couldn't be comforting, to have a bunch of strangers show up. Even if this was supposed to be a resort.
"Welcome pirates!" the tall man boomed. A crowd of people, most in their early twenties with a few notable exceptions, clattered out behind the elephant. "I am Baron Omatsuri and you've landed on my island."
"Is it true this is a resort?" Nami asked.
"With delicious cuisine?!" Chopper added.
"Oh yes," Omatsuri assured. "But before we can get to that, you must first do one thing to gain access." He waved to his right, where the little boy stood. "This is my son Shŭ. He'll be your judge." The baron smiled, tilting his head to the side. On his shoulder, the little yellow and pink flower chirped, 'judgment! judgment!'.
"What, like a competition?" Gajeel scoffed. "Bring it on."
"Ne, Flower Uncle, can we hurry? I'm hungry."
Omatsuri's jaw twitched, but Shŭ did a flip off the elephant, landing with a little dance. Lucy guessed he was about ten or maybe eleven. "Before you can access the island, you must first go through the Ordeal of Hell!"
"Of course it's a trap," the crew groaned.
"Shishishi, that's okay."
"Damnit Luffy," Nami lunged for his throat. "How do you always get us into these messes?!"
"What does it matter?" he gasped out. "I trust you all to win."
"Yohoho! Truly, a captain that knows how to sweet talk his crew."
"Pay attention!" Shŭ snapped, stomping his foot. With a groan and a shift, the ground beneath them moved. Sand fell away, a wooden platform rising up as the ocean rushed in. Lucy fell straight into Zoro, who barely kept to his feet. Trees and ground moved away, parts of the city falling apart to make room, until they were standing on a round wooden platform with a single, thin wooden walkway leading to the announcers room where Omatsuri and Shŭ were standing. The little boy grinned wide at all of them, a huge sign lifting up behind him seemingly from nowhere. "The first Ordeal is Goldfish Catching!"
"Goldfish catching?"
"Muchigoro!" Omatsuri called. "You will compete on my behalf."
"Gladly, Baron!"
A thick set, lengthy fellow with brown skin and thick lips came skittering down the walkway. From nowhere, a set of bleachers rose up, filled to the brim with various fans all screaming Muchigoro's name.
Gajeel glared up at them all, lips pursed. "Night Light, is there something off about them to you?"
"Yeah." Lightning sparked, his gold eyes narrowed. "Can't quite figure out what, though."
From the center of the platform, a small glass tub rose, filled with various brightly colored goldfish swimming in the clear water. On the edge, a paper scoop was settled.
"The rules are simply," Shŭ explained. "You have three minutes. The person to catch the biggest goldfish wins."
"I'd be careful," Omatsuri taunted. "These paper nets break easily in water."
"Don't worry," Usopp promised. "I'm a master Goldfish Catcher."
"Master?!" Muchigoro gasped.
"Master!" Chopper cheered.
"Yes, master," Usopp confirmed.
"I hope he's lying," Muchigoro muttered.
"Usopp would never lie," Chopper denied.
"I'm lying," Usopp confessed easily.
"Eh?!"
"In three!" Shŭ announced. "Two! One! Begin!" On a clock tower behind him, a timer began.
For a long, drawn out second, Usopp and Muchigoro glared each other down, Usopp smirking confidently all the while.
"Don't worry." Lucy jumped at the sudden noise, finding Shŭ standing at her side, hand gently looped around her knee. His fingers were strangely cool and she wondered if he had poor circulation. When he looked up at her, his eyes settled unerringly on her, so wide she could count the flecks of gold in the brown. "You won't get hurt."
"Why would I-?"
She didn't finish. Muchigoro grinned and with a roar of water, something huge jumped from the ocean. Lucy could do nothing but gape as the biggest fish she had ever seen flipped through the air; it was large enough to swallow Sunny whole in a single bite. It had to be a seaking of some kind, there was simply no other explanation. It had metal armor covering its back, huge, spiked teeth, and wide multi-colored eyes. When it landed, a tsunami worth of water washed over the platform, knocking most of them off their feet--Lucy, weirdly, stayed perfectly dry.
"What is that?!"
"That's Rosario," Muchigoro gloated. "My pet."
"How the hell do we catch that?" Nami demanded. Two huge buckets bobbed to the surface of the ocean, one yellow, the other pink.
"With this," Muchigoro grinned, pulling out a massive version of the paper net. He whistled, Rosario jumped up, huge body blocking out the sun as she came falling down.
"Oh, I see," Robin said. "There were never any rules to begin with. How quaint."
With an impossible heave, Muchigoro sent Rosario flying towards his bright pink bucket. In a flash of flower petals, hands spread from around the edges, linking up to form a giant net; Robin tossed Rosario back out and into the air before she could truly land.
"Eh?!"
"I got it!" Zoro drew Wado, steel flashing in the air. From nowhere, a gust of wind blew down sharply, sending him sprawling against the dock.
"No weapons!" Shŭ snapped, face twisting in anger. Lucy startled at the sudden vehemence. Franky, who'd been aiming his arm cannon, cursed at him thoroughly.
Sanji launched up, kicking Rosario into the air, lining her up perfectly. From the side, Pantherlily, carrying Gajeel, smashed right between the armor plates. She flopped, falling down into the bucket with another humongous splash of water.
The timer dinged.
On the Baron's shoulder, the flower bobbed up and down. "Game over, game over!"
Once more all smiles and sweet eyes, Shŭ clapped his hands. In the stands, the people cried out in despair. "Victory to the Straw Hats!"
"Yosh! I knew you guys could do it."
"Talk about a nutso island. Nami dear, did you see how I kicked that fish for you?!"
"You did good, Sanji."
"Enough!" They paused their celebration, eyes drawn to Baron Omatsuri. His face was twisted into a nasty snarl, eyes dark where he stared at all of them. Hopping up next to him, too quick for Lucy to see how he moved, Shŭ cleared his throat. Omatsuri settled, pasting a tight smile across his face. "You'll now complete the second Ordeal."
"Not a chance," Laxus declared.
"Don't be a sore loser," Usopp said. "We won, so let us stay at the resort."
"You'll do the next Ordeal!"
"What bullshit," Gajeel complained. "I say we get out of here."
"Shishishi it could be-"
"Absolutely not," Nami snapped, dragging Luffy by the ear. The crew started to head out, unmolested by Baron or his people as they returned to the forest. Lucy lingered, eyes catching on the little boy. He was already watching her, hair flopping into his eyes.
Laxus caught Lucy's wrist, tugging her along. "Don't get left behind, Blondie."
Irritation spiked, but she soothed it away with a deep breath. It'd been a while since Laxus had called her that, but she figured he was probably stressed. The island was weird. Something about it had her on edge; she couldn't imagine what it was doing to Laxus's heightened senses.
With Nami leading the way, she figured they had ten minutes before they were on Sunny and waiting for the log to reset. It'd probably ease everyone to be at home.
"This forest is SUPER weird," Franky muttered. He slapped away another branch, only for it to come snapping back into Brook's face.
"Hey! Watch it."
"Sorry, skeleton bro."
Lily twisted to the side, launching himself off Gajeel and into the trees. When Lucy followed, they all found a picnic blanket set up, with an empty basket of food.
"So there are other guests on the island," Laxus concluded.
"That makes this a little less creepy," Lily figured.
"Yeah but...where are they?"
No one had an answer to that.
They went tumbling through the forest for another ten minutes. Fifteen. By the time they hit twenty, Nami was visibly furious, eyes twitching.
"I thought you were the navigator," Robin asked.
"Watch it," Nami snapped, scanning the map that had accompanied the letter. "I'll get us out, don't worry."
"Where even are we?" Usopp demanded.
"Nami," Luffy whined. "Let's go back."
"No!" She took another twist through the trees, muttering under her breath. "Have I ever gotten us lost?"
"Yeah," Zoro pointed out. "Today."
"Watch it, marimo."
"You want to go, perv?!"
"Nami," Luffy snapped.
"Shut up!"
"While I understand the stress," Lily soothed. "Let's all take a deep breath. Look, we're almost out."
Indeed, through the tangle of leaves, they could just make out pieces of red. They picked up speed, all eager to get away from this place. Pushing through, they all stumbled into a clearing. Instead of Sunny, or indeed any length of beach, they found a huge stage with a red curtain settled in the middle of the jungle. Baron Omatsuri flung his arms out in greeting, smiling wide.
"Welcome to the second Ordeal!"
"Absolutely not," Nami snapped. "We're leaving this island. You and your Ordeals can drown in a seaking."
"Really?" Shŭ asked. Lucy hadn't even seen him appear. "Then why haven't you gone back to the beach yet?"
"Listen you little brat-"
"I want to do the Ordeal!" Luffy cut in, bouncing forward. Nami slammed her hand out, punching him into the ground where his head got stuck. With a sigh, Lily followed the panicking Chopper over to help him out.
"I don't suppose you can tell us what the Ordeal is?" Brook asked politely.
"Brother, you are SUPER not matching the vibes."
Striking a pose, Omatsuri announced, "The second Ordeal of Hell is...Ring Toss!"
From behind him, the curtains opened, revealing glowing light spelling it out and four podiums on each of which was a gediatric looking three seconds away from keeling over.
"You're joking," Lucy complained.
"I like the lights," Franky murmured. "I wonder how they're doing it."
"Each group will have two teams on boats," Shŭ explained. "With two players on each boat. The first group to have ensnared the entirety of the other group in rings, wins! Now, for Baron Omatsuri's team; the four wise men!"
"They're just a bunch of old geezers," Nami pointed out, scoffing. "This isn't even a competition."
"Kerojii!" Omatsuri exclaimed. "The leader."
"From our point of view, you're a bunch of snotty kids."
"Snotty?! Watch what you say to me."
"Keroshot! The main striker."
"She's angry. The girl has a short temper and lacks maturity."
"Well pardon me for having a personality!"
"Kerodeek! The repairman."
"My, my, I'm quite tired. Can I go to sleep?"
"Don't go to sleep! You're the ones making us do this."
"Keroko! The youngest and only female."
"You're quite arrogant for only being a little younger than us."
"A little?! You mean a lot. I'm a lot younger than you."
"And now, for the Straw Hat's team!" Shŭ announced. The buried form of Luffy wiggled and called out, but it was already too late.
"I'm going to bury you in the Locker," Nami swore.
"If Nami dear is participating, then I'd love to~" Sanji cooed.
Zoro scoffed, earning an immediate glare. "If we want to win, we should put someone competent on the team."
"What's that supposed to mean, grassbrain?"
"You'd know what it means if you were any smarter."
"Guys," Usopp tried. "Can we calm down? What is up with you?"
"Shut it!"
"And we've lost them." Lucy buried her face in her hands, trying to think calming thoughts. They'd all been a little stressed from being in the Triangle for ages, no sun to mark the days, yet she hadn't expected them to dissolve so quickly into bickering children.
A hand grabbed her leg, tugging gently. She looked down to find Shŭ had once again attached himself to her side. "While your team is competing, the rest of you are welcome to relax at the spa."
"Oh. Thank you. That's very sweet."
She began gathering up the crew, pulling Gajeel away from where he was staring at the wisemen. Franky waved her off when she called for him.
"Nah, go on ahead. I want to take a look at this setup they have for the lights."
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, don't worry about me, sister. I'll get one of the Baron's men to lead me to the spa when I'm done."
"Alright. Suit yourself."
☉
The spa and the beating heart of the resort was the castle. Besides being where--she assumed--the Baron lived, it also had a lovely pool, plenty of spacious rooms, and a bar that they were given free reign over. When Zoro got out of the race, Lucy was sure he'd head there first; Brook went to beg some milk off them.
"I think 'm gonna take a nap," Gajeel decided. He tipped his head toward Lucy and Laxus, who were both taking in the wide, arching ceilings. "You two joining?"
While a nap--and the likely sex to follow--did sound nice, Lucy shook her head. There was still an itch under her skin, something she couldn't quite place calling to her. "I'm gonna explore for a little."
"Alright," Laxus agreed. He was frowning again, staring at where Omatsuri and his assistants (?) had disappeared after announcing dinner at seven. Shaking himself, he took a step back. "I think I'm going to go get Franky."
"He seemed excited to mess around," Gajeel pointed out.
"Yeah. But I got a bad feeling."
"Keep an eye out for Chopper and Lily, would you? They said they were going exploring."
"Sure."
With that settled, the crew split up.
☉
Franky slid a crowbar under a plank of wood, jacking it open. With an excited rumble, he wedged himself into the back of the stage, finally getting a chance to see the setup.
All he found was a hollow crawlspace. There was absolutely nothing that indicated how the lights, or the moving stage, or anything else he'd seen on the island, could've been done.
Behind him, he caught the whisper of someone moving through the trees, and a whistle of air.
☉
Robin hummed, eyeing the retreating form of Omatsuri. She'd been quietly taking stock of the island since they'd landed, unwilling to share her suspicions just yet. Something about it all made her uneasy, though she seemed to be the only one. Not surprising, considering the rather blessed upbringings of her crewmates; they had little idea how to live with paranoia as a partner.
Muchigoro waddled up to her, carrying a tray of drinks. She gladly accepted one, though ensured she didn't actually drink. She trusted nothing that came from this place.
"The laws of this island say I have to serve you now that I've lost," Muchigoro told her.
"Is that so? Well, then why don't you sit and have a drink with me?"
"Oh I couldn't-"
"I thought you had to serve me."
He grimaced, but obediently sat and took one of the drinks.
"Tell me, Muchigoro. Are there any flowers on this island?"
"Flowers?"
"Yes. While walking through the jungle, I realized there were none to be seen. But Baron has one on his shoulder. Where did he get it?"
"Flowers..."
☉
Luffy turned around, eyes catching on all the vast architecture. It made him feel small, like he was back in Goa. Something tapped his head. If Sabo were here--he stopped the thought. Even all these years later, it still hurt to think of his lost brother. Ace had banned them from talking about him years ago, which made sense. It wouldn't help anyone to keep hurting themselves and Sabo would've hated to hear that they'd been in pain because of him.
Something hit his head. Luffy looked around, searching for the source. There wasn't anyone else present-
Something significantly bigger hit his head.
"Oi! Stop that." Narrowing his eyes, he spun around slowly. From behind him, he just barely made out the sound of someone breathing a little hard. Quick as a whip, he twisted, catching sight of a little old man holding a small boulder. Short, with a sand colored hat and a tiny mustache under his nose, the old man eeped, dropped the rock, and took off running.
Needless to say, Luffy followed.
Chasing him through the halls, up the stairs, around and around, Luffy cursed the man's spryness; it was worse than chasing old man Woop Slap. Luffy wasn't even planning to hurt him, he just wanted to know why he'd thrown rocks at him.
They ended up in a big open room with a shallow pool in the center, Mustache Pops on the opposite side from Luffy. For a little bit, mirroring each other inch by inch, it seemed they'd reached an impasse. Luffy had no idea how to grab him without it becoming another wild chase.
Abruptly, Mustache Pops stood up, sticking his finger under his nose. "Heh. You're a pretty fast kid. What do you say to becoming my nakama?"
Luffy didn't bother to contain his opinion on that. He was the captain; he decided who his nakama was. On the bright side, his Devil Fruit meant he could make really funny faces when people said dumb things.
Oh, right. He was rubber.
Stretching his arm out, Luffy grabbed hold of the old man and dragged him through the water and up to him. Flailing, the old man struggled to get away, but he was really weak so it didn't mean much.
"Okay, okay! Hold on!"
"Why would I be your nakama? I'm going to be King of the Pirates!"
Startled, the man stared for a minute before rapidly shaking his head. "That's not important right now. Look, my name is Brief, Captain of the Toothbrush Mustache Pirates."
It was a dumb name, but Luffy could respect a captain, even if it was a weak one. He let Brief go.
"Thank you. Look, you need to be careful."
"Eh? Why?"
"Beware Baron Omatsuri and his son. They aren't what they seem."
Somewhere back the way he came, a bell rang for dinner. Luffy turned to track the sound; when he looked back to ask Brief a question, the old man was already gone.
☉
Lucy heard the bell for dinner and realized the second ordeal must have finished by now. She had no doubt that her crew had won; after Enies, ring toss seemed like nothing. It did surprise her though; she could've sworn it'd been early afternoon just an hour ago, yet when she looked out the window, the sun had already set, tiki torches lighting up the plaza. She blamed her losing track of time on the castle.
It was fascinating, for more reasons than she could really articulate. On one hand, the building itself was beautiful, with detailed sunken reliefs, liberal use of pylons and hypostyle halls. It was very reminiscent of some of the ancient architecture she had studied back in Earthland. Honestly, she was constantly reminded of the parallels between Terra and Earthland and she didn't know what to do with it. Maybe she should talk with Robin about it.
Beside the simple things, she also couldn't help but be drawn in by how empty it all was. While there was no dust to indicate disuse, it had dozens and dozens of rooms that seemed empty. Bedrooms without any personal touches, dance halls that weren't set up for any parties, on and on the list went. Like it was all some big prop--just a very detailed one. The whole thing had an energy to it, something drawing her close that she couldn't pinpoint; or maybe she was still sensing the Florian Triangle. Either way, she didn't really want to stop exploring, but the crew would likely worry if she didn't rejoin them soon.
As Lucy started retracing her steps, she must have taken a wrong turn, ending in a corridor she hadn't seen yet. Two big doors had gallery etched into their faces, and her curiosity got the better of her. Gajeel or Laxus could track her down easily enough if they got worried.
The gallery was a huge, long cavern of a room with a post-and-lintel system stretching down its length, making it seem like she was walking down the ribcage of some great beast. The walls were a simple gray, the artwork standing on its own, each with lights above and below keeping them lit. Paintings and mosaics and charcoal sketches; more art than she had ever seen in one place, all breathtaking. Achingly, it reminded her of Earthland.
There, the twisting body of a dragon, pieces of colored glass giving the impression of movement as the light flickered along it.
Down the hall, a black and white constellation map of the stars.
A deep, horrifying painting of blacks and red depicting a demon towering over a burning town.
Down the hall she walked, each piece of art reminding her of home. For all that she loved the Straw Hats dearly and completely, she could not help but mourn her past. It'd been well over a year since she had come to Terra; were they still looking for her? Did they worry that she'd died on her mission? Tears pricked at her eyes, and she paused at the end of the hall, wiping them away. She had to get control of herself; they were doing everything they could to get home, and until she had gathered all the Stone Keys she would just have to keep moving forward.
Taking a deep breath, she looked up, ready to go hunt down her crew. Whatever had drawn her here didn't matter; they needed to check the logpose and head out as soon as they could.
She froze, staring at the final painting standing in pride of place, the only piece against the back wall. Later, she would realize it was the only one with a name.
A portrait of a face she'd never seen yet was so heart wrenchingly familiar. And below, a plaque declared the painting the Cassiopeia.

So Prompts cause you wanted em this way instead of Questions! (there are 4. This is 1 of 4. I know you know this but like, i want you to be aware that there will be 4). So. OPvengers. The avengers and the world reacting to eachother as Ace Chases Luffy through the grand line?(TONY GOING WHY THE FUCK DONT THE ISLANDS MAKE SENSE, WHAT IS WITH THE PHYSICS, maybe inventing a thing?)
“You’re going to have to do something big,” Marco says setting the last of the dishes into the sink. “You’ve been presumed dead for two years and the marines have been celebrating your death.”
“Don’t suppose there’s any marine bases close by for me to wreck, is there?” Ace says teasing. “I think that I’m going to have to do a lot of things to get my name and bounty restored.”
“Not to mention,” Marco states, leaning down to lift Kotatsu into his arms and laughing as the cat started to wiggle to reach Ace. “Two years have passed and you the same. I don’t think there’s a way to age you up those two years.”
Ace snorts, “I’m still the oldest of my siblings, my birthday is in January, you know,” he smiles at Kotatsu, scratching underneath his chin. “We’ll need a ship. I assume that you, you never found what happened to Striker.”
“Teach has it as far as I know. Kept it as a trophy. And I don’t think your friends would fit on Striker. At least Tony wants to go with you and see the world. I think he was talking to Jozu about the islands.”
“Their world is so different. There’s islands but they’re no where near as common as ours are. It’s like giant Alabastas all over and their science,” Ace whispers excitedly. “They can do things that I never dreamed of. Some of it’s the same, but some things are better there. I think the islands offend Tony.”
Marco laughs, “I’m sure that they do. Considering they each have their own seasons or just stay the same without change. I think Pepper is looking at this like a vacation.”
“Pepper runs Tony’s company. Like Iceberg on Water 7, only bigger. It’s huge and it’s all over their home world,” Ace pauses. “I was scared they could never get me home. I thought that, I don’t think I could live there.”
“Thank you for coming home,” Marco smiles crookedly. “I would have missed you forever if you hadn’t. I’ve already missed you so much.”
Ace shifts slightly, “I could stay? Luffy’s not going to notice if I take time to find him.”
“Ace, no. I can miss you and know that you’re coming home. I did it often enough on the Moby, but now I know that you’re going to come home. How are you going to travel, I know Jozu would offer to take you to another island, but I don’t know what you want.”
“There’s a marine base around here, isn’t there? One that had some nice ships if I remember rightly.”
Marco smiles easily, Ace wonders is it was that easy after he had died, if being here on this island had helped him. If the people had. He knows that Marco is happy here, Ace can see it, but he also thinks that maybe coming back made Marco happier. Just a little bit.
“You’re right. Going to steal a Marine ship, and beat up the base, should get you noticed. I don’t know how they’re going to feel about that.”
Ace shrugs, kicking his feet, “I think that I explained it well, at least to Tony, Pepper, and Clint. Steve doesn’t like bullies, so I don’t know what he’ll say. Nothing is clear cut here. But I won’t change myself for anyone.”
“No, I didn’t think you would,” Marco agrees. “You can sleep in the living room if you want, or-”
“Pretty sure I wanna sleep with you, if you would let me.”
Marco laughs, soft and pleased as he shifts to touch Ace’s cheek again, “I was hoping you would.”
“Let me get this straight,” Tony says tapping his hands on the table as Ace leans into Marco’s side, he doesn’t think they’ve been apart for more than a few minutes the whole time that they’ve been here. “You want to go steal a marine ship to sail off into the sunset to find your little brother and tell him you’re not dead.”
“Brothers,” Ace corrects. “Apparently the other one isn’t dead either, so I have to go kick him for being stupid and forgetting us.”
“Brothers,” Tony nods. “I think I need a little clarification here. Are you the bad guy? Are the marines the bad guy?”
“It’s more complicated than that,” Marco answers. “The World Government controls the marines and use it to protect their interests, the World Government is controlled by the Twelve Celestial Dragons, who are very rich men who decide what can and can’t be done.”
Ace rolls his eyes, “The marines answers to whomever the Dragons are supporting. Who ever has the most money, the most blackmail, or who’s interests align best with their own. Some are good, my gramps and there’s one that Luffy likes too, but some aren’t.”
“I hate politics,” Tony mutters tiredly. “And pirates?”
“Depends on the crew. Whitebeard Pirates, the crew that Ace and I belong to, took in islands and protected them for a small price and the promise of trade. Others will kill everyone in a town, plunder it and keep going. Nothing is black and white.”
Tony hums, “Guess we’re about to become pirates, Pep.”
“This doesn’t carry over to our home world,” Pepper states not looking up from the device in her hands. “I’m still trying to figure out how I have 4G.”
“I programmed it the same way that I programmed Thor’s, he can’t make calls but he’s always online,” Tony answers. “It’s got it’s own things to keep up 4G and it’ll charge in sunlight as long as their UVs are too different from back home.”
“Shiny,” Pepper deadpans. “At least we won’t be in financial ruin when we get home.”
“Back to steal this ship,” Tony says looking excited. “Who’s going to captain it?”
Ace laughs, “I am. I was captain of my own ship before Pops recruited me,” he pauses. “Did Deuce and the others?”
“Not sure where they got to after we split up. I know a couple of them were alive, but you know how big the crew was. Might have joined up with Doma, he’s taken a chunk of our old territory and kept it under his protection,” Marco answers, petting the giant cat’s head. “Think that’s where Deuce got to.”
“I wanted to be captain.”
“How about first mate? They’re the ones who have to boss people around?” Ace offers.
Tony dithers, because he does like bossing people around, “I think Pepper would be better. I suppose I could just be the guy who invents stuff.”
“I’m defecting if there’s paperwork,” Pepper states calmly, still tapping away. “I have enough work to do and I don’t want more.”
“You can assign it to someone else,” Ace offers. “Deuce did. He hated math and we had someone who use to be a teacher on the crew.”
Pepper smiles, pleased, and her hand taps Steve on the head, “Paperwork.”
“Has to be easier than when I was in the army,” Steve says shrugging helplessly. “So we’re stealing a ship.”
Tony should have known that Steve would be weak. They were going to be pirates, it’s like super villainy and Tony had flipped a coin early on about if he was going to be hero or villain, now he would get to be a cool super villain.
Marco grins at the News Coos that he had received, the picture of Ace caught mid-movement still very clearly Ace as everything around him burned. There’s smaller pictures of the others, Pepper and a stolen staff surrounded by unconscious Marines, Clint up close as he uses his bow like a bludgeon, Tony with his thrusts glowing, and Steve mid-throw.
“Gol D Ace Alive?” Marco whispers, taking his time to read over the article and check the bounties. Because he was, Ace was alive and he was going to make sure the world knew it.

ok, so I think we're all in agreement that all pre timeskip grandline villains teoretically know haki + buggy but for some reason just didn't think to use it (actual reason:Oda didn't have the concept of haki completely mapped out at the moment)
there are many logical games one could play to explain this in universe. my favorite one is that buggy never used haki in east blue because before the straw hats he was the strongest east blue pirate and just found no pleasure in essentially bullying children and weaklings more than necessary
and I love this because it's just so immensely funny. the idea that buggy could have become big, not as big as shanks but bigger than he is now, and just didn't do it because it seemed like too much of a bother is just golden
the 'competent buggy' tag on ao3 is a blessing

Day 7: "The world just...feels right, when I'm with you."
summary: In the same way that the clouds never leave the sky and the rivers always find their way back to the sea, being with you it's just as natural. It's just right.
wc: 876
What does a warm summer night at the GrandLine offer you?
Does it come with gentle breezes that traverse the blue tides, carrying the salty scent of the ocean high up to the moon? Does it bring along an endless galaxy, with its twinkling stars stretching out forever until they kiss the distant skyline? Or does it accompany you to many lively parties held by the most notorious pirate crews ever? The answer is all of the above.
Raucous laughter and off-tune music ring across the crashing waves, and in the soft light of thousand of asterisms, one can catch sight of a great pirate ship - with a giant whale at its bow - swaying gently to the rhythm of the Mother Sea. The air around it seems to blaze up by the lights from hundreds of lanterns hanging around the hull and the joyous sound of the banquet. It's true they say that no one knows how to party quite like the pirates, and it is the Whitebeard pirate we're talking about.
However, the surrounding rackets don't seem to reach one corner of the ship, where seat two figures side by side, silently as if they had hidden into their own bubble.
You are sound asleep, your head resting against the barrel next by, an empty bottle in your hand. Ace settles his head on his folded arms, knees tucking into his chin as he adjusts the position a little to have a better look at you. A low, loving chuckle escapes him when he sees the ghost of a smile appearing on your lips. Ace wonders what kind of dream you are having that could paint happiness all over your sleeping face like this. Could it be him whom you meet in those fluffy dreams of yours? You once told Ace that he brings color to your life, and that he's the sweetest pleasure that had happened to you, and to be honest, the freckled man is still so surprised by those statements, even until now. No one has ever told him he's their happiness nor that he made them happy. Yet, tenderness still washes over every corner of his soul as he recalls your words.
Reaching out to tuck the loose tendrils behind your ears, Ace feels his heart softens when you stir slightly at his touch. You let out a soft mmhh, turning your face his way, making it easier for the fire fist to study your sleeping expression. Moonlight kisses your hair, and Ace marvels at how wonderful you look at this very moment. Of course, you're always gorgeous - you must be the most beautiful human being to ever walk on Earth to Ace - but there's something so special, so magical tonight. Is that the magic that lies under your wine-red cheeks? Or is it perching on the eyelashes that flutter with each breath of yours? Ace doesn't know.
His hand slowly moves from behind your ears to cup the side of your face, rough fingers brushing your soft cheek gently, as if he were touching something so delicate, so vulnerable. And Ace doesn't know, indeed. He doesn't know why or how he become this version of himself - this soft, humble, and caring person who somehow manages to steal your affection. The freckled wants to say that he has always been like that, but he wasn't.
He had never been.
Pushing people away, building walls around himself, that who he had always been; even with Luffy - undoubtedly the most important person in his life - it had taken him forever to warm up.
But with you, it's different.
With you, it just feels so ... right. It just feels right to treat you kindly and sweetly, as if it would be unseemly if you get treated any other way. And it just feels right to let you in, to fit you into his life; like the final piece to the puzzle, you complement him, making him whole. Loving you is the easiest thing Ace has ever done, and he has done it from the very moment he met you, without any additional effort. In the same way that the clouds never leave the sky and the rivers always find their way back to the sea, being with you it's just as natural. It's just right.
You nuzzle into the warmth of his palms, and Ace almost melts at how adorable your little gesture is. Tenderly, the fire boy cradles your head to his shoulder; your scent mixes with the smell of alcohol drives him a little dizzy. His fingers dance along, skirting down the arms that lean against his so warmly until he finds your hand. Your fingers lace together perfectly as if they meant to belong to each other, and Ace can't help but smile at the thought.
"You know, the world just...feels right," Ace whispers, pressing a soft kiss to the top of your head, "when I'm with you..."
A warm breeze blows through, carrying the music from the party to your place, but none of you can hear it anymore. Both of you have drifted into unconsciousness, holding to each other's hands dearly as if it's your whole little world.

bless Rayleigh, in his brief flashback about roger asking him to join the crew they both look young (early to mid 20s?) Spent the next 30+ years of his life wrecking God only knows what up and down the grandline and doing Insane things (like rasing buggy and shanks until teenagers) finally gets retirement after the death of his best friend, with shankky to something resembling whatever normal is too him. Until shanks manages to visit 1 limb down, "there's a kid just like captain Roger coming in like 10 years try to make sure he doesn't die at some point" and gets to deal with roger in his late teens again while nearing 80 himself. The lost Princess of the ocean - four
Masterlist
It had been seven days since the four of you had left Buggy. Nami sat with the Grandline map on her lap whilst Luffy painted a flag. You sat quietly watching them, dipping your fingers into the ocean. It was nice to be with them. No one asked you for anything or made you scrub a single thing. Though Luffy and Nami kept some distance from you they would always include you in their conversations.
Your saviour, Zoro, hardly ever left you alone. He would sleep sitting against your bunk, always ensuring he sat beside you on deck. Though you were still unsure of his purpose for taking you. Sure he would tell you often that you were free, but he seemed to be protective of you. In your experience your captures never wanted another to touch you and would act in similar ways. You had not spoken a word since the circus, not even to Zoro, though he spoke enough for the both of you. You could tell he was a stoic man, a man of few words yet with you the silence made him want to know more. At times one of them would move too quickly and you would flinch away from them. Your eyes would close as if you were waiting for a blow, for pain. Each time it made a tight feeling clench at his chest. He had still been sleeping when you woke so you had slipped away from him. Zoro opened the door to the cabin, stepping out.
“Zoro look, it's complete.” Luffy smiled brightly.
“It's unique.” Zoro complimented dryly, walking over to you. “Nami, I think the toilets busted.” He said.
“We don't have a toilet.” She replied.
“Oh, well then something back there is leaking.” his words amused you and yous rifled a laugh.
“What?” Nami ran into the cabin. You look up at Zoro who grins down at you. He lifts his hand to your neck and checks the wound. It was small and healing well.
“We're taking on water, what did you do?” Nami hisses at Zoro.
“I didn't do anything.” He protests.
“They way you're clanging those swords around, you must've broken something.” She growled.
“Maybe you should've stolen a better boat.” Zoro bites back. The raised voices make you tense beside him, closing your eyes. Luffy sees your reaction.
“Guys. Guys. Guys. Okay, crew meeting.”
“Not a crew!” they yell at him at the same time. You reach out for Zoro's hand, your fingers gently touching his palm. He turns and realising his anger was unnecessary he calms himself, taking your hand and giving you a reassuring squeeze.
“We're gonna need a better ship to make it to the Grand Line. A real pirate ship. Worthy of the Straw Hat Crew.” Luffy announced.
“Wait. Straw Hat Crew? Really?” Nami laughs.
“Yeah, I thought it had a nice ring to it.” Luffy’s smile stretched across his face.
"Demon" has a nice ring to it.” Zoro states bluntly, “Headgear? Not scary.” you drop your hand from his to your lap, looking away from them.
“Who says pirates have to be scary? The point is we need a new ship. So where do we get one?” The Captain asks.
“Our closest bet is the Gecko Islands. We can probably make it there before our ship sinks. Ditch this one and get a better one.” Nami explains.
“Good. With a working toilet.” Zoro joked.
“Great job, navigator.” Luffy beamed. You noted that he did that a lot. Zoro sat down in front of you.
“Are you okay?” He asked. You nod, without looking back to him, your eyes locked on the water. Zoro touched his fingers to your knee causing you to flinch away from him again.
“I'm sorry.” He said, instantly retracting his fingers. “How did you end up in Shells Town?” He asked you. Always trying to coax words from your mouth. He tried not to admit that the sound of your voice had become like an addiction to him. With each small word you gave him he longed to hear more from you. Breathing in slowly you tuck your hair behind your ear.
“I stole food.” You say, glancing at him briefly.
“I'll never let you feel hungry again.” He tells you. A smile pulls at your lips and you know he means it.
When the ship finally pulled into the dockyard it was already beginning to disappear below the water. You all worked quickly to grab your belongings off the deck. Luffy wandered off at some point leaving you, Zoro and Nami.
“I'll be back soon.” Nami told you before running off into town.
You followed Zoro into the cobbled streets of Syrup village. The shop windows are filled with clothes and fresh baked goods that you admire. Zoro stopped suddenly staring at a wall covered in wanted posters. The face of Buggy the Clown stared back at you both.
“You've got to be kidding me, that clown was worth fifteen million Berry. We should have stuffed his head in a bag and brought it with us.” He grumbled.
“What marine would have paid you that bounty anyway,” Luffy laughed, his legs against the wall and his back on the dusty ground, “you're kinda a wanted man yourself now.” you hadn't noticed him there at first.
Zoro sighed, “I didn't think of that.”
Luffy flipped his legs over his head and slowly rolled back up to his feet. You were surprised his hat stayed on.
“All the more reason to get to the Grand Line. Fresh start!” Luffy grinned.
“Right.” he looks down at you beside him.
“Hey! You got us a ship?” Luffy called over to Nami who was walking up to him.
“Working on it. Did you push the sloop out to sea like I told you?” She asked him.
“Yeah. No Marines are gonna be following us here.” he said proudly.
“Well, we're not gonna be here very long. Turns out Syrup Village is known for their ship building. Lots of options.” she grins.
“Well, what are we waiting for then?” Luffy runs off again. You and Zoro follow close behind Nami.
When you finally find Luffy again he is talking to a young man in the ship building yard. He had gone off in a huff after Nami told him the only way for him to acquire a new ship would be stealing it. You didn't really want to be involved in crime, it could bring too much attention. Yet, you kept your thoughts to yourself and followed Zoro.
“There you are.” Nami called up to him.
“Guys! I found it. I found our ship. And this guy will sell it to us.”
“Uh, wait. What? Uh” the man stutters.
“Yeah! The ship, we'll take it.” Luffy announced.
“Technically, she's not for sale and technically, I'm not a salesman.”
“Do you even work here?” Nami asks.
“Of course I do. I'm Chief Technician in charge of encrustation removal and aviary waste eradication.”
“Encru what?” Luffy asks.
“He scrubs barnacles and cleans bird shit.” Zoro explains.
“He can't help us.” Nami continued.
“Wait! Wait! Wait! I can help you. The owner of this ship just happens to be my closest friend in the world.” he explains quickly.
“Your friend owns this ship?” Nami asks.
“Not just this one. She owns the whole shipyard. She's rich, rich.” He waffles his eyebrows at Luffy.
“Oh!”
“I'm sure you could strike a deal with her.” He finishes.
“See?” Luffy beamed again.
“Well, I guess it couldn't hurt to say hello.” Nami agrees, her mind already thinking about the jewels she could get away with.
You felt a familiar tightness in your chest as you followed them all. All around occasional people would stop and watch you. Each one glaring at the new companion leading you through the village to a large house. You pressed yourself closer to Zoro and he took your hand.
Nami admits to you both that she is planning on robbing the ship owner as two dodgy looking staff members appear in front of you. The larger one threatens Usopp before a young woman with blonde hair and a pink dress calls over to Usopp. He introduced her as Kaya, you could tell he thought she was the most beautiful thing in the world with the way he looked at her.
Though the butler beside her disliked the idea he eventually agreed to allow you all in for dinner. Demanding that you each take a bath and dress appropriately. Sham, the smaller of the two staff members leads you all through the house, pointing them each to a guest room.
“This will be your one, miss, and sir yours is opposite.” She says to you pointing at a very pink and floral room. Your body tenses once more your grip on Zoro tightens. The thought of being alone frightened you, in truth you hadn't been on your own for a very long time.
“You expect her to stay there alone?” he asks.
“I apologise sir, I was unaware of your attachment to the girl. You may share this room of course.” She points across to the other room across the hall. He thanks her and leads you inside. There is a large double bed covered in a heavy silver blanket against one wall and a large bathtub behind a room divider. Zoro begins to run the warm water before stepping back to you.
“Is this okay? Us, staying here together?” He asks, suddenly unsure of himself.
“Yes.” You say with a small nod.
“You have to tell me if I do anything that upsets you, Y/n. I want you to feel safe with me.” he bends his neck to better look into your eyes.
“I do.” You whisper.
“You aren't a prisoner anymore.” He assures you once more.
“I know.” You feel tears beginning to swell in your eyes.
“You take the first bath.” He suggests leading you over to the tub that was now almost full. You waited until he was back on the bed before you pulled your old discoloured dress off and stepped into the warm water. It felt amazing to bathe properly. In the last ten years you had little more except a simple bucket with ice water to clean yourself. Zoro had tried to wash out your hair for you on the Sloop and though he was gentle and warmed the water you had still been so frightened of every touch. Always waiting for the moment he would turn on you.
After a few minutes he called over to you.
“Are you okay?” It was a question he asked you almost hourly.
“Do you, could you wash my hair?” You asked. Zoro moved faster than you thought he would and knelt beside the tub. He was sure to keep his eyes averted from your body, though his eyes wanted to follow the curve of your throat downward. Attempting to blink away the thoughts he used a small cup to pour the warm water over your hair. Zoro used the rose scented soap to wash through your long locks, brushing through it with a comb. He is gentle, each movement soft and calculated, like he is frightened he might break you.
When he was done, he stood and held out a large towel for you to step into allowing you to wrap it around yourself. His head turned to one side, again to not see your body.
He quickly dips into your water and washes himself before wrapping a robe around himself and one around you.
“Ready?” He asks, thinking about how bored he was of his own voice when he could be listening to yours: if only you'd speak a little more. He then leads you both out to find the dressing room, his swords slung over one shoulder.
When you reach it, Nami and Luffy are already picking out clothes. They hung from the walls and ceiling. You had never seen so many clothes in one place.
“Hey Zoro, what are you gonna wear?” Luffy calls over to him.
“Something black.” He replies. Zoro plonks himself in an armchair and you start looking through the clothes.
“Hey, does that butler seem familiar to you guys?” He asks to the room.
“Yeah, I think he was at the last dinner party I attended.” Nami quips from behind a room divider and you laugh silently to yourself.
“I swear I've seen him somewhere.” Zoro's words are distant as he watches you searching the rails.
“How's this?” Nami steps out in a black dress. She looked beautiful on your opinion but you weren't sure you knew what beautiful was.
“Still Nami.” Luffy shrugs.
“I said I'm wearing black.” Zoro laughed.
“I hate you guys.” Nami started rifling through the clothes beside her. They all chat about Kaya, your host and the differences between rich and poor. When Nami finally settles on a red dress and Luffy has chosen a waistcoat, Nami grabs a black suit and passes it over to Zoro. The two of them exit the room leaving you once again Alone with your green haired savour. He started changing into the suit. You had taken a knee length olive green dress with black edging and slid behind the screen. You changed into it, surprised that you could pull the zipper up yourself. This was the nicest thing you had worn in a very long time. You brushed your hair to one side and used a small silk ribbon to tie it below your left ear. On to your feet you had pulled on a pair of short heeled black sandals. Unsure of yourself you step out from behind the screen, looking at Zoro in his suit. He looked very handsome in it, as if the material had been perfectly fitted to him. His eyes look up from his sword belt and land on your figure. He closed his mouth and swallowed the saliva that gathered quickly.
“Wow, you look…amazing.” He stuttered out the words making you blush.
“Thank you.” You say. Zoro crosses the room and stands directly in front of you. He opens his mouth to speak but only a breath comes out at first. His hand took yours once more, fiddling with your fingers, “I…Y/n I was wondering-”
“Oh there you are, everyone is gathering downstairs.” Usopp leaned into the room, interrupting Zoro's broken sentence. He nods to the new companion and folds your arm through his own, your hand resting in the crook of his elbow.
Downstairs you all wait in the hall, the two staff members held platters of small foods. Luffy and Usopp wasted no time in digging into them. Nami was talking with the goat man, Merry and Zoro stepped straight to the drinks table lifting two glasses.
“Hey, Zoro. You gotta try this!” Luffy called over to him. Zoro handed you a glass and took a sip of his own.
“I've got all I need right here” he states looking at you. The drink is refreshing but has a gentle sting of alcohol to it.
The butler clears his throat causing you all to look up to him on the staircase.
“May I present, Miss Kaya.” There is a moment of clapping for the birthday girl and she begins her descent of the curved stairs. Merry ran up to her and took her hand. At the bottom she complimented Nami on the dress, it had been her mother's.
Zoro looks up at the butler, narrowing his eyes at him. He manoeuvred him body so you were somewhat hidden behind him.
“Have we met before? You look familiar.” He says.
“Highly doubtful, sir.” The butler replies, adjusting his white gloves.
“Funky Bar? Mirror Ball Island?” Zoro questions.
“Funky Bar?” he says sarcastically, “Well, I can assure you I've never patronised that type of establishment.” the butler's eyes fall onto you, that ill feeling of tightness in your chest comes back. He storms away from the pair of you.
Kaya is given no time to speak to anyone else as the Butler, Klahadore, suggests to everyone that it is time for dinner. The full party moved into the dining room and took their places around the long table. Zoro tells Sham to keep the wine coming, having poured you both a glass.
You watch in silence as the dinner slowly descends into madness, culminating in Luffy climbing onto the table and announcing that he would be the pirate king and he needs a ship from Kaya. The butler swiftly puts pay to it all when Kaya begins to cough. She insists that you all stay the night and retires to her own room.
You each follow suit and return to your bedrooms. An hour or so later you say you need the bathroom but assure Zoro that you can go alone. He waits, a nervous wobble in his stomach until he can't wait any longer.
In the hallway he runs into Luffy.
“Hey, Zoro!” He says a little too loud.
“Sh! Shut up.” Zoro scolds him. Luffy looks him over.
“You always carry those swords with you?”
“Wherever I go, the Wado Ichimonji goes.” Zoro says flatly.
“Where are you going anyways?” Luffy asks as the pair walk slowly along the corridor.
“I’m looking for a Y/n. This place is a maze, she may have gotten lost. How about you?”
“Midnight snack.” Luffy gave him a tooth grin.
“Of course.”
“Come on. We'll follow my nose to the kitchen, maybe y/n is there.”
Zoro follows him.
They meet Usopp in the kitchen and talk about Kaya. Zoro paces the room.
“If you're gonna talk about feelings, I'm really gonna need a drink.” He groans, all but forgetting his mission to find you.
“Uh, there's a wine cellar in the basement.” Usopp tells him.
“Why didn't you tell me that before?” Zoro gestures for Usopp to lead the way, leaving Luffy behind.
Usopp is chatting away when his foot hits something soft.
“Zoro. Zoro? It's Mer It's Merry. He's…He's dead.” Usopp pants put the words.
Zoro kneels down beside the goat man checking him over. “Five blades. I think I've seen this befor-” his words are cut short when he sees you lying unconscious on the floor.
“Y/n.”
“Well, well, well. It appears we have some rats in our cellar.” Klahadore spoke, stepping out of the darkness.
“Those blades. I knew I'd seen your face somewhere on a wanted poster. You're Kuro,
captain of the Black Cat Pirates.” Zoro stated.
“Wait, Klahadore's a pirate?” Usopp questioned.
“A dead one. They say you were killed by Axe-Hand Morgan.” Zoro stood to his feet, his hand on his sword.
“A clever ruse. One that imbecile's ego
helped me perpetuate and as you'll soon learn, no one interferes in my plans.” The butler tilted his head to one side.
“What did you do to y/n?” Zoro asks his chest tight.
“Oh, I have knew her from a long time ago. I dear friend of mine from the white shadow assassins. She didn't recognise me at first either. A shame really, I wanted to buy her when she was younger. Girl would've made wonderful entertainment for my crew. Alas the assassins would not sell her, how did you get her?” His words hiss out through his teeth and churn Zoro and Usopp's stomachs.
“I think I'll keep her, she'd make an obedient mate, don't you think?”
Zoro pulled his two black swords from their scabbards.
“So, I will collect a bounty tonight.” Klahadore growled.
He moves too quickly, Zoro can't keep up and is quickly knocked out. Usopp wastes no time in scrambling away through a window.
