this colors trap thing makes no sense, because if it's not a devil fruit then what is it and how does it work? they said that it's ordinary paint so if it's not a devil fruit power are there other people who can use it?

i know this ability is going to drive me crazy because i don't understand how it works. it doesn't seem like you have to look at it and it doesn't have to make contact with your skin to work.

now luffy's drinking tea, usopp and karoo are occupied with the other agents, sanji is nowhere to be found al while nami, vivi, zoro and broggy are almost completed wax figures.

sanji finally makes an appearance in who knows how many chapters since last we've seen him.

oh he found mr 3's hideout.

ugh mr 3 is back and worse than ever.

mr 3 running away when things didn't go like planned, how sad. he really thought he was going to get luffy like that.

the scene where mr 3 impale broggy's hands and feet is way more violent in the manga.

i need mr 3 gone immediately. i hate him so much!

let's be honest this is not one of zoro's brightest moments. i don't know how he thinks he's going to fight without being able to stand. thank you luffy for stopping this madness.

Chapter 123

i totally forgot, where the hell is sanji?

zoro i thing your leg bleeding out is more worrying than the pose you're in.

mr 3 complaining that they don't respect his and the other agents power, but resorted to using dirty tricks to capture them knowing he doesn't stand a chance against them while he downplays there strength, how amusing.

only luffy would use the candle lock on his feet as a weapon.

mr 3 got sent flying by his own creation and with just one punch, how sad.

does miss golden week have a devil fruit.

Chapter 120

not only did mr 3 interfere with the duel by getting mr 5 to plant an explosive in dorry's drink, he also used something to make dorry slip resulting in him being slashed.

it's revealed mr 3 ate a devil fruit, the wax-wax fruit.

Chapter 121

how is mr 5 and miss valentine going to call luffy a lover and pathetic when their plan was to use karoo to lure vivi away from him because he was apparently too much of a threat and then havethe nerve to act like them attacking him and insulting him while he is stuck doesn't make them look even more pathetic.

see zoro knows his captian wouldn't be taken down so easily. these people's cockiness is what's going to be their downfall.

mr 3 is psychotic, making people into wax figures. he is also very pathetic, acting all high and mighty but gets scared when someone starts to threaten him even though they're stuck.

Chapter 118

who else could it be but agents of baroque works, seem like they followed the straw hats to little garden.

we learn that both dorry and broggy were the leaders of a pirate crew called the giant pirate warrior band a hundred years ago. they were known as dorry the blue and broggy the red and each of them has a bounty of 100 million on their heads.

mr 3 is the worst type of villian the one who uses tricks to get his way. the type to let others do the work for him so he doesn't have to get his hands dirty.

Chapter 119

it makes me so mad that they're going to continue the duel like it wasn't tampered with.

it seem to usopp being the bravest warrior on the sea isn't about being all powerful or to never be afraid when your in dangerous situations, but to be proud of the way you live your life, which in my opinion is even better. it's really hard to say you're proud of who you are and for what you accomplish and what you contribute to something. it's so easy to compare yourself to other but it's really hard to just be happy with yourself.

here we see even more of luffy's character, despite pirates being notorious for not playing fair here we have luffy that gets so mad at the fact that someone interfered with the giants duel. we can clearly see luffy has a strong code of honer, wevsee this with zoro's fight with mihawk too, luffy would never interfere with someone else's fight and he expects the same of others when it comes to his fight.

it also looks like luffy doesn't believe in a higher power, it might just be that he doesnt like someone dictating how he should live his life.

mr 3 is just really awful. i really, really hate the guy. he is the type of loser that knows he would never win a fight head on so he resorts to tricks to obtain victory all while using other people to do it fo him.

we are really seeing the stark diffrence between the honorability of the giants as well as luffy and usopp to some degree and the prideless mr 3.

Chapter 117

introduced two more officer agents og baroque works, mr 3 and miss golden week.

i love how much the fight is affecting usopp and how it ties into his dream of becoming a brave warrior of the sea.

apparently they've fought 73, 446 battles.

we find out that the reason there are so many skeletons is because it takes a year for the log pose to reset so some of the people gets eaten by dinosaurs, some of them starve to death or die because they try to attack the giants.

it seems that the straw hats only option is to just take a random course and hope for the best. which makes me wonder let's say they go a random direction, would the log pose still be pointing to little garden, if so they would have to try not to go in that direction which means they would have to travel without the only thing you can trust to navigate the grandline which would be an insane feat.

i wonder who would pull such a dirty trick like putting explosives in a drink just to disrupt the giants duel and to put a rift between the straw hats and the giants.

Chapter 115

according to vivi, the reason the the weather is especially crazy at the start of the grandline is because of the seven magnetic fields coming from reverse mountain.

we've arrived at our second island on the grandline, little garden which seem to be an island filled with prehistoric fauna and flora.

i love how excited luffy gets about the prospect of an adventure. he is quite literally shaking in anticipation.

and zoro and sanji's rivalry continues.

according to vivi due to the nature of the grandline it makes it hard to travel around so the islands are mostly isolated, which made them develop their own unique cultures, while some of these islands advanced some of the other islands stayed unchanged for thousands of years.

we find out an explorer named this place 'little garden' due to the fact that to its inhabitants the island may as well appear to be a little garden.

Chapter 116

we are introduced to broggy a giant. apparently the dinosaurs aren't the only big things living on this island.

he calls himself 'the mightiest warrior of elbaph', probably where he's from.

luffy has barely been on the island and he has already been eaten by a dinosaur. thankfully he was saved by the other giant who live here, dorry who is apparently also 'the mightiest warrior of elbaph'.

poor usopp and nami thinking the giant wants to eat them.

we find out that it takes a whole year for the log pose to reset on this island.

we also learn that the reason dorry and broggy are on this island is because they follow a specific code in their homeland regarding disputes, so they have to have a duel to solve it and whoever wins is the one who gets to live and go home. they've been at it for 100 years.

we learn that giants lifespans are three times to those of humans.

the fact that they don't even remember why they're dueling anymore is crazy. i guess that it just shows how much they pride themselves on honor.

miss all sunday is introduced she is baroque works vice president and supreme commander, she's also mr 0/sir crocodile's partner. knows Mr 0's true identity.

miss all sunday seem to have a devil fruit.

she said she is not on an assignment meaning nobody sent her, so why is she there. to assess them? to help them?

revealed the straw hats next destination is a place called little garden.

yet again she's trying to help them. maybe she's not so loyal towards crocodile.

everybody say 'thank you nami!' for putting a stop to those two's tomfoolery.

learned that alabasta used to be the most civilized and peaceful nation on the grandline, but a rebellion has risen. it seems like baroque works is the reason.

baroque's or mr 0's true intention comes to light. he intends to conquest alabasta.

revealed that the boss of baroque is sir crocodile, one of the seven warlords of the sea, pirates with government backing.

thanks to mr 13 and miss friday overhearing vivi spilling who the boss is now nami, luffy and zoro are one their hit list.

only luffy and zoro would be happy to be on a warlords hit list.

revealed crocodile's bounty used to be 80 million berries, likely before he became a warlord.

learned about eternal poses. eternal poses remembers a singular islands magnetic field as oppose to a log pose which points you to the next island.

and all he'll breaks loose with igarams apparent death.

I love how much faith nami has in the boys.

Chapter 111

when it comes to money nami is merciless.

sounds like there is some sort of trouble in the kingdom of alabasta.

revealed mr 5 ate a devil fruit, the boom-boom fruit most likely a paramecia.

revealed that baroque works is a secret criminal organization that deals in espionage, assassination, theft and bounty hunting. no one knows what the boss looks like, he tells everyone what to do.

baroque works ultimate goal is to create a utopia. buys people's loyalty by offering them a high place in said utopia.

boss's code name is mr 0. the closer your code name is to zero, the higher your position is in the organization is and the more powerful you are.

now luffy wants to fight zoro. like things aren't dire enough.

Chapter 112

i still don't like that they made zoro and luffy fight. luffy is just a little bit too naive sometimes.

at least it's funny seeing mr 5 and miss valentine getting caught in the crossfire.

miss valentine also seems to have a devil fruit. the kilo-kilo fruit.

i wonder if this boss of theirs (baroque works), was on the island for a time, but it wouldn't make sense since it doesn't seem like they know anything about him except maybe his code name.

miss wednesday calls zoro 'mr bushido', which means 'the way of the samurai'.

i don't know how or why luffy didn't wake up when he was being taken hostage. these straw hats can apparently sleep through everything.

Chapter 110

since i haven't mentioned it before, it's nice to see what koby and helmeppo's been up to through the cover stories. i'm cheering them on to become great marines.

mr 5 and miss valentine makes an appearance. it really doesn't bode well that these underlings doesn't know who the top officers are. i wonder if the organization works well because of the anonymity or despite it. in my opinion building an organization on mainly secrecy would breed more untrustworthiness than it would loyalty. question is would these people still work for baroque if they knew who runs it, i'm guessing for a lot of them the answer would be no.

seems we have some infiltrators in baroque works who knows the boss's identity. which begs the question were they able to infiltrate because of baroque works main thing being that all it's agents are anonymous. is that what made it easier to go undercover.

revealed that the town mayor who's also mr 8 aswell as miss wednesday are the infiltrators. both are apart of the monarchy from alabasta. mr 8 is revealed to be the commander of the royal guard whose name is iggaram and that miss wednesday is the princess of alabasta neferetari vivi.

gotta love name's hustle. asking iggaram for money in exchange for helping him and vivi.

Chapter 106

we're already seeing the crazy unpredictable weather of the grandline.

miss wednesday says that you can only trust the log pose for the unpredictable grandline weather, but i bet having a really good navigator is still essential to surviving the grandline.

just love how zoro can sleep in the chaos going on around him.

here we start to see the bounds of oda's creativity when it comes to the islands in the one piece world.

log poses take time to record the magnetic field of the island you're on, so the time you you need to spend on said island varies.

never trust an island where they welcome pirates with open arms.

Chapter 107

revealed that the unluckies, mr 9 and miss wednesday work for an organization called baroque. the unluckies seem to be messengers.

the town mayor is mr 8 and the sister is his partner miss monday.

it seems when you kill someone who has a bounty and turn them in to the marines their value drops by 30%.

revealed by zoro that this island is inhabited by bounty hunters who works for an organization called baroque works. zoro was apparently propositioned by them when he was still a bounty hunter, but he turned them down.

Chapter 108

gotta love zoro handeling these bounty hunters while the others are out of commission and getting to test out his new swords.

it's funny that these bounty hunters think that the wanted poster is wrong about luffy being the one with the 30 million bounty, because he looks so unassuming and that it's actually zoro who is the one with the bounty, because he's so terrifying.

i don't know how that painting of luffy's jolly roger on laboon is gonna stay there, but at least laboon won't hurt himself anymore.

let's be honest laboon was not the one who did most of the damage on merry go, it was luffy.

i'm surprised nami didn't know much about the weather and such of the grandline , but i suppose if it's that dangerous there probably isn't much information on it in the east blue.

first time log poses comes up. it's a special compass that records magnetic fields of islands.

the unluckies show up, mr. 13 and miss friday. i wonder how they know where mr. 9 and miss wednesday was.

and it is revealed that crocus knew roger and that there are certain pirates that they've been waiting for. is that why crocus stays there to look for these pirates?

Chapter 103

seriously how did crocus do all that inside a whale's body. he painted a sky in there, built a door in him, it's insane he even built himself a house.

how is someone able to swim in stomach acid and come out of it unharmed.

first time these people with numbers ans weekday names come up. mr. 9 and miss wednesday.

would stomach acid have the same effect on devil fruit users as seawater? or is it the fact that most of it is probably seawater the reason luffy can't swim in it.

crocus is the great for taking care of laboon.

laboon is a island whale, not a neptunian like the other big sea creatures were, interesting. island whales origanates from the west blue and is the largest whale species.

the fact that poor laboon has been waiting for 50 years for his friends to return with no hope that they actually would is tragic.

Chapter 104

question is, did crocus build all those things in laboon alone, if so that's really impressive.

i feel bad for crocus. it must be hard taking up the responsibility of taking care of a grieving whale as well as trying to keep the poachers away.

i wonder what reliable source crocus had, because the logical explanation is that the crew all died and the cause would be the unpredictability of the grand line.

the fact that laboon knows they're not coming back, but still holds on to the hope that they would shows his immense love and loyalty for his friends. luffy initiating a fight with laboon, making himself his rival is giving laboon a purpose beyond just waiting for someone that might never come is just so luffy of him.

Chapter 101

i love how whenever luffy doesn't understand something he calls it a 'mystery mountian'. somebody could explain something to him and the he just goes.. "aah so it's a mystery ____"

this is the first time we've come across a calm belt. the the thought oda put into how the geography of the one piece world works amazes me.

is the sea kings actually called neptunians, because i've never seen them being referred to as that except now in the manga. it would make sense since neptune is a king of the sea.

I wonder if the canals on the redline are man-made or if they naturally formed, because there are arches to indicate where they are and i would imagine it would be very difficult to build them there if the canals were already there.

Chapter 102

it's really difficult to grasp how big laboon would be in real life.

you got to love luffy trying to fight the ginormous whale in front of them.

the squid the strawhats find inside laboon is also referred to as a neptunian.

i can't even begin the grasp how someone would be able to build things like a walk way inside a living whale.

Chapter 100

i've always wondered why dragon showed up at loguetown. like did he know luffy was going to be there, is that why he went or is it just a coincidence.

i'm also really curious about his devil fruit. it seems to have something to do with the wind so does that make him a logia, but how does that tie in with the weather, because it almost looks like he can control it to some degree?

smoker has the plume-plume fruit, a logia type.

this is also the first time seaprism is introduced.

i can't remember if they show in the anime how buggy and gang escapes, the most obvious would be the wind storm.

it's so funny that luffy made such a big impression on smoker that he decided to abandon his post to follow luffy all the way to the grand line. i also wonder how smoker was able to get away with just leaving loguetown to chase a singular pirate.

what's also funny is that luffy is also the reason buggy decided to go to the grandline. he was just hanging around the east blue for who knows how long and then some kid shows up and turns his whole life around.

the part where the straw hats state their dreams and breaks the barrel is one of the best moments in the story.

it's interesting how much filler they put in the anime for loguetown.

i find it funny that alvida teamed up with buggy to find luffy because she want him to be her man, while buggy wants to find him to kill him.

alvida ate the slip slip fruit. i'm assuming it's a paramecia.

Chapter 99

i find it poetic that luffy proclaims his dream to be the king of the pirates at the exact same place the pirate king was excuted. i know that, that was fairly obvious, but i still find it to be a nice touch by oda.

the fact that luffy laughed just as he is about to be killed, by buggy of all people, struck a chord with smoker. i wonder if smoker admired roger to some degree, they make it seem like it in the anime.
