Allah calls Himself Al-Malik— The King and Owner of Dominion— on five occasions in the Quran. He is the King, the owner and ruler of the whole creation. Al-Malik gives authority to whomever He wants in this world, and He has supreme authority and is ruled by no one!
The King, the Ruler, the Owner of Dominion
Malik, Maalik and Maleek all come from the root maa-laa-kaa, which points to three main meanings. The first main meaning is to have possession and ownership. The second is to have power and ability and the third main meaning is to control and have authority.
This root appears 206 times in the Quran in ten derived forms. Examples of these forms are malakat (“possess”), mulku (“dominion”) and al-malaa’ikatu (“the angels)”.
Linguistically malik refers to the attribute of mulk; which points to power and ability: They do not possess ability. [Quran 13:16] Mulk also means possession and ownership: To Him belongs the Ownership of the heavens and earth [Quran 2:107] as well as control and authority: O my people, sovereignty is yours today, [your being] dominant in the land. But who would protect us from the punishment of Allah if it came to us? [Quran 40:29] Al-Malik is simultaneously the Ultimate King, Ruler, and Owner of all beings.
Al-Malik Himself says: So high [above all] is Allah, the Sovereign, the Truth . . . [Quran, 20:114] Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth is exalting Allah , the Sovereign, the Pure, the Exalted in Might, the Wise . . . [Quran, 62:1] The Sovereign of mankind . . . [Quran, 114:2]
A breathtaking scene with the King
Describing an amazing and humbling moment on the Day of Judgment, the Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: Allah will grasp the earth and fold up the heavens with His Right Hand and proclaim, I Am the King! Where are the kings of the earth? Where are the tyrants? Where are the arrogant? [Al-Bukharee, Muslim] No one will speak and the kings and rulers of this world will be left with none of their “power.”
How can you live by this name?
1. Stay within the limits of Al-Malik.
Would you drive 60 mph while in a 30 mph zone when you know a camera is ready to record you and fine you accordingly? In your daily life keep reminding yourself to remain within the bounds set by Allah, al-Malik, your King, and imagine both His punishment and reward.
2. Don’t use the name Al-Malik.
The Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam also said: The most despicable name to Allah is a person who calls himself the king of kings, while there are no owners except Allah [Al-Bukharee, Muslim]. The name Al-Malik belongs to Allah ‘azza wa jall only.
3. Be patient and be a king in the Hereafter.
The real sovereignty in this world for you is to strive for self-control. Don’t be a slave of money, fashion, or desire, but suppress your desires and constantly strive against the whims of your ego to please Al-Malik. As is beautifully quoted: Desire can turn kings into slaves and patience can turn slaves into kings! Recognize His ways of bestowing kingship: Say, O Allah, Possessor of sovereignty, You give kingdom to whom You will and take it away from whom You will. In Your hand is [all] good. Indeed, You are over all things competent! [Quran, 3:26] So be patient in times of hardship and in striving to stay away from what is forbidden by Al-Malik and He will give you an eternal kingdom in the Hereafter in-sha-Allah.
4. Ask Al-Malik.
Whenever you feel disheartened tell yourself Allah ‘azza wa jall is your Malik and you are part of His Kingdom. He does whatever He wants [Quran 36:82] and when something “bad” happens to you, know this is from His wisdom and that no matter how impossible your situation or ambitions seem, you can always ask Him only for a way out. Nothing is impossible for Al-Malik.
5. Be just.
All kings and owners, just or unjust, are low compared to Al-Malik. You are responsible for whatever you have authority over, and you will be accountable for it. In reality you don’t own anything; it all belongs to Al-Malik. So be just to your spouses, children, and even animals, and remind yourself that you will be dealt with by the King on the Day of Judgement.
6. Humble yourself in heart and body.
Never be arrogant, and keep reminding yourself that you are an ‘abd (slave) of Al-Malik, no matter how rich or self-sufficient you might feel. Al-Malik reminds you of what your priority in your daily-life should be: Then High above all be Allah, the True King. [Quran 20:114] Be humble in your heart but also in your speech and appearance. Using foul language, speaking poorly of others, or having an arrogant body posture are not features of a believer who humbles himself or herself for Al-Malik— He sees you 24/7.
7. Praise Al-Malik.
The Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said, whoever says: la ilaha il Allahu waHadu, la shareeka lahu, lahul Mulk, wa lahul Hamdu, wa huwa ‘alaa kuli shayyin Qadeer -None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise, and He is over all things omnipotent- 100 times he will receive the reward of freeing ten slaves, one hundred hasanaat will be written for him and one hundred misdeeds will be washed away. He will be shielded from shaytan until the evening. No one will be able to present anything better than this except for someone who recited more than this. [Al-Bukharee, Muslim] The Prophet also used to say immediately following the witr prayer: Subhaan al-Malik al-Quddoos (Glory is to the King, the Holy) three times, and raising and extending his voice on the third time and then saying: Rabbil-malaa’ikati warroohi ( Lord of the angels and the spirit) [An-Nasaa’i].
O Allah, Al-Malik, we know that You are our only King and Owner. Help us in following Your commands and in being Your righteous slaves, and adorn us with patience and humility. Guide us in being just in all our daily affairs, and admit us to Your Kingdom of Paradise, ameen!

I would appreciate some very needed advice. I am someone who has never had any doubts in the existence of Allah سبحانه وتعالى or his Messenger عليه الصلاة والسلام. I believe that there is no God besides Allah and that He is All Seeing, Hearing, and Powerful over everything. I also believe He sent His Messenger, the best of all mankind, Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم as a warner for us.
Why do I feel like a hypocrite? Sometimes when I think too much, strange thoughts will come in my head like ‘you dont even believe in Allah’ ‘you dont even believe the Messenger is real’ and I am afraid Im going to misguide myself. I know I don’t believe these things, but do these thoughts mean I am a hypocrite deep down? Im afraid im falling down a path of thoughts that is going to ruin me.
I have been constantly making dua for Allah to remove these whispers from my head, and to remove any doubts or fears from my heart. What else should I do? For some preface, I am extremely isolated and spend most of my days alone, neither speaking to anyone nor leaving the house much. I sit at home and memorize Quran, listen to lectures, and read books all day. I am not engaging in any major sins as far as Im aware, and I have never been as involved in my deen as I am in this period of life.
I know the Shaytan is trying to get me in any way he can but I am so afraid to lose what little Iman I have. I need advice because I feel like i’m going crazy thinking about this 24/7. Be brutally honest, and if I am showing characteristics of a munafiqa, what can I do to reverse it and have the utmost yaqeen in Allah?
1- from what I read, you’re far away from being a hypocrite, rather, you’re having the type of doubts that affect those who are sincere in sha Allah.
2- This is shaytan doing his best to cause you to abandon the path. He couldn’t force you to commit sins so instead he’s trying to cause you to despair in the mercy of Allah so that you abandon worship. Allah سبحانه وتعالى said: “Private conversation is only from Shaytan, that he may grieve those who have believed, but he will not harm them at all except by permission of Allah. And upon Allah let the believers rely.” And He also said: “That is only Satan who frightens [you] of his supporters. So fear them not, but fear Me, if you are [indeed] believers.”
So know that these thoughts are not from Allah, or from your nafs, but from shaytan. They’re not signs from Allah, but they’re whispers of Shaytan with which he tries to cause you to despair.
He’s trying to take you to jahannam in any way, and since as you said you don’t fall in major sins and repent from minor ones, he has found another way to throw you in jahannam, simply because he’s a loser and he’s jealous of you lol.
3- You said a very important point which is that you live in isolation. That is completely wrong, a muslim should isolate himself sometimes but his nature should be being around people who will both benefit him and assist him, and harm him and cause him to remain firm. The prophet ﷺ said:
“The believer who mixes with people and bears their harm with patience is better than the one who does not mix with people nor bear their harm.”
So being around people is better than being lonely, and being around righteous companions is better for they assist you to do goodness and forbid you from doing evil.
4- Read your Adhkaar always and have a routine of complaining to Allah in the darkness of the night (focus how I didn’t say make dua, I said complain to Allah, they’re two different things) complain to Him and cry between His hands. Spill everything without any shame and with exact terms, exactly like you feel it in your heart.
5- Again no you’re not showing any signs of nifaq may Allah preserve you and protect you from every harm. Rather the opposite in sha Allah. So be careful upon this blessing of yours (the blessing of Iman) and remember iman increases with ibadah and decreases with sin so avoid sins and increase in acts of worship.
6- You believe in Allah with All His names and attributes, His prophet Muhammad ﷺ, His messengers, His books. You’re a muwahhida and don’t commit shirk. You pray your five daily prayers (hopefully sunnah too) you read quran and worry about your akhirah. What else do you want to do? Allah is the most merciful, He really sees you doing your best, and I don’t say this like those compassionate murji’ imams, not at all, but I say it honestly, Allah sees you doing your best, you’re doing your best, you really can’t do much more and Allah doesn’t burden a soul more than it can bear. Allah sees that you fear being a munafiqa, He sees that you try to be sincere, do you think He doesn’t notice when He knows you better than yourself?
7- You say you always make dua for Allah to remove these worries, but perhaps you are not getting an answer yet because this feeling is what fuels you to make ibadah? Or perhaps because it’s not yet the best time for Allah to remove these doubts, or because you haven’t asked enough? Or because you have a sin you need to abandon? Many reasons could be behind Allah not answering your Dua yet. But know that He’s wiser than you and Knows you better than yourself. And If you knew the unseen you’d choose exactly that which Allah has decreed for you
8- another reason that could increase this bad feeling is consuming depressing content and being around people who struggle with depression, run awayyyy from these two things for they don’t help in dunya or akhirah at all and only assist shaytan against you(also im gonna post a text after this question read it as well it talks about grief)
also do not stay awake late at night to ponder upon your misery or to contemplate the moon and sky and be miserable like those poets loll (trust me I used to be like you and all this stuff im telling you I wish I did or didn’t do myself)
9- Remember that removing this feeling takes time, and it may even come back one day for you to battle it again, so don’t seek a change between the day and the night. (Learn to live with it and don’t let it affect your action!!!) the road to Jannah is far away from easy, some have what I call “material tests” which are complications in health and wealth, prison…, and others have mental tests, which are all in their minds, none of these both is less than the other and every believer is tested with something we may or may not see. And even the sahaba who had the prophet among them had doubts like yours, Its normal and requires a steadfast and firm heart and a daily battling, so get used to Always battle something until the day Allah takes your soul (don’t start wishing  for death now💀)
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was approached by some of the Companions who said, “O Messenger of Allah, we find in ourselves thoughts that are too terrible to speak of. We would not want to say them even if we were given the whole world.” The Prophet ﷺ said, “Have you really found that?” They said, “Yes.” He said, “That is clear faith!”
Here the sahaba had thoughts that they were ashamed of even mentioning, and their hate for those thoughts was called by the prophet ﷺ “clear faith”.
So rejoice as long as your heart is still attached to good and still finds evil to be displeasing and worrying you’re still on a good path may Allah keep you steadfast and firm

Recommended deeds during Dhul-Hijjah
》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》》
Narrated Ibn `Abbas (May Allah be pleased with him):
The Prophet Muhammed (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said,
"No good deeds done on other days are superior to those done on these (first ten days of Dhul Hijja)."
Then some companions of the Prophet (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him)said,
"Not even Jihad?"
He replied,
"Not even Jihad, except that of a man who does it by putting himself and his property in danger (for Allah's sake) and does not return with any of those things."
- Sahih al-Bukhari 969
- Sahih (authentic)hadith -
So, the Muslim should start these days with sincere repentance to Allah, then he should do a lot of righteous deeds in general, then he should pay attention to doing the following deeds:
1 – Fasting
It is Sunnah for the Muslim to fast on the first nine days of Dhul-Hijjah . This is because the Prophet Muhammed (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) encouraged us to do righteous deeds in these days.
Fasting is one of the best of deeds, which Allah has chosen for Himself as it says in the hadith qudsi:
“Allah says: ‘All the deeds of the son of Adam are for him, except fasting, which is for Me and I shall reward for it.”
(Narrated by Al-Bukhari, 1805)
2 – Reciting tahmid, tahlil and takbir a great deal
It is Sunnah to recite
● takbir (saying Allahu akbar (Allah is most great)),
●tahmid (saying al-hamdu Lillah (praise be to Allah)),
●tahlil (saying La ilaha ill-Allah (There is no god but Allah)) and
●tasbih (saying Subhan-Allah (Glory be to Allah)),
during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, saying these words out loud in the mosques, homes, streets and every place in which it is permissible to remember Allah, to perform this act of worship openly and proclaim the greatness of Allah.
Men should recite out loud and women should recite quietly.
‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Prophet Muhammed (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
“There are no days that are greater before Allah or in which good deeds are more beloved to Him, than these ten days, so recite a great deal of tahlil, takbir and tahmid during them.”
(Narrated by Ahmad, 7/224; its isnad was classed as sahih (sound) by Ahmad Shakir.)
3 – Doing Hajj and ‘Umrah
One of the greatest deeds that can be done during these ten days is Hajj to the sacred House of Allah. Whoever Allah helps to go on Hajj to His House and do the rituals in the required manner will – in sha’ Allah – be included in the words of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): “An accepted Hajj brings no less a reward than Paradise.”
4 – Udhiyah (Animal sacrifice)
One of the righteous deeds that bring a person closer to Allah in these ten days is to slaughter the sacrifice and to look for a good, fat animal and to spend money on it for the sake of Allah.
5) Zakath and Sadaqa.
6) Dhikr (Remembrance of Allah)
7) Reciting the Qur’an.
Let us hasten to make the most of these great days.
And Allah knows best.

What Are The Rewards of Pregnancy In Islam?
KEY TAKEAWAYS
1. Multiplied in Blessings
2. All the Bad Deeds are Erased
3. Gaining a Higher Status than Men
4. Attaining Great Rewards from Allah
5. All the Difficulty is counted as Good Deeds.
6. Pregnant Woman is at the Same Level with Martyr
7. A Pregnant Woman Got Paradise Under Her Feet
▪️The Patience and Ability are More Than Men
Virtues for Being Pregnant
Prophet (Peace be upon him) said:
“Paradise is under the feet of the mother.”
[Mustadrak al-Wasāil]
▪️Difficulties Born by Mother – During Pregnancy
As for mothers, Islam has made them a beautiful world in which everyone must respect and revere them. Allah recognizes and mentions the difficulties borne by mothers:
وَوَصَّيْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ بِوَٰلِدَيْهِ حَمَلَتْهُ أُمُّهُۥ وَهْنًا عَلَىٰ وَهْنٍ وَفِصَٰلُهُۥ فِى عَامَيْنِ أَنِ ٱشْكُرْ لِى وَِوَٰلِدَيْكَ إِلَىَّ ٱلْمَصِيرُ
And We have enjoined upon the human being [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination. [Surat Luqmān, Verse 14]
▪️Parents has higher status
Someone asked The Prophet (Peace be upon him):
“Which of the parents has a higher status?” He replied, “The one who for nine months kept you between her two sides (stomach). And then brought you into this World and gave you milk from her breasts.” [Mustadrak al-Wasāil, vol. 2, pg. 628]
▪️The Rewards of Pregnancy Until Giving Birth and Breastfeeding
The Prophet (Peace be upon him) said:
“The reward of a woman, from the time of Pregnancy until birth and breastfeeding, is the same as the reward of one on the path of Allah.
And if a woman leaves this World during that time because of the hardship and pains of birth, she has the reward of a martyr.”
[Makarim al-Akhlāq, pg. 238]
▪️Leaving the World Because of Labor
Narrated from Imām Sādiq (as):
“Any time a woman leaves this World because of labor pains, on the Day of Judgement, Allāh will raise her from the grave pure and without an account (of sins). Because such a woman has given her life due to the hardship and pain of labor .” [Bihār al-Anwār, vol. 101, pg. 108]
▪️The Whole Period of Pregnancy
Told from Imām as-Sādiq (as):
“Every time a woman becomes pregnant, during the whole period of Pregnancy, she has the status of one who fasts, one who worships during the night, and one who fights for Allah with her life and possessions.
And when she gives birth, Allah grants her so much reward that nobody knows its limit because of its greatness. And when she is giving milk to her child, for every suck of the child, Allah gives her the reward of freeing a slave from the children of Ismā’īl. When the period of breastfeeding, the child is finished. One of the great angels of Allah taps her side and says: “Start your deeds afresh, for Allah has forgiven all your minor sins.” [al-Kāfī, vol. 5, pg. 496]
The above traditions should give hope to pregnant women, who inevitably will face one difficulty or another during this time. At times of difficulty, one should know that Allah has provided women with the capability and the desire to bear children.
▪️The Patience of 10 Men During Pregnancy
Imam as-Sadiq (as) narrates:
“Allah has given every woman the patience of 10 men, and during pregnancy, Allah grants her the ability of 10 more men.”
[Mustadrak al-Wasāil, vol. 10, pg. 46]
So Muslim sisters, do not get tired, as Islam values your effort. Though it’s a difficult time, many rewards of Pregnancy are awaiting you. Your focus must be on bringing up your coming child with perfect Islamic values and leaving the rest on ALLAH.
HE, the elevated, WHO has put a life in your baby, would surely lead a safe way out IN SHA ALLAH. Cherish your blessings; not everyone is blessed with this opportunity of being the mother of a Muslim baby.

Jumu'ah Khuthbah: 11 August 2023
We had another rich week of learning within our Tariqa (spiritual school), which painted uncertainty regarding our main spiritual leader's health ... only to prove the miracle of prayer in activating Allah's healing!
Moreover, as we embark on our shared journey with the beautiful Leo ... we yearn our Nabi SAW's loving patience with cats by drawing on the same magnetic arena of dua'a (prayers). Bismillah...
Ya Muqtadir Ya Qadir Ya Nafi (Yearning Allah's ability to craft goodness)
Ya Wadud Ya Salaam Ya Jami Ya Nafi (where we are craving Allah's love, peace, and unity in that goodness)
Shukran Ya Allah (and ultimately with divine gratitude for increasing our family with this beautiful furball)
Tumblr media
#1. Shaykh Nishaat began streaming haqq (spiritual truth) during our weekly congregational Zikr Sohbet (spiritual conversation), that we were reminded about the ominous health scare being faced by Shaykh Taner. He maintained calm and focused on talking about how in Sufism, the focus is on the actions of the spiritual heart. We have to look beyond our outer actions and what can actually be seen. The focus is more on the inner, which is emphasised by the verses of the Qur'an. Therefore, for anyone on the Sufi path, we have to look at our inner actions and what our niyaat (intention) is.
As sincere seekers, we should be focusing on ourselves and not worry about others because it won't help us but add stress, frustration, and annoyance as ready reactions. More productive aids would help to bring us closer to Allah by bringing us into our own good; behaviour, actions, and adhab (manners).
#2. He continued where, as Sufis, we need to be aware of what our Nabi SAW identified as our greatest jihad (a struggle or battle against an enemy force) - but which is actually within ourselves! It is the greatest battle than the outer version against nations or people that are actually easier. The greatest jihad against ourselves is met every day and moment of our lives.
Thus, we have to be aware of our relationship with our Creator over others. We have to be aware that we can account for every moment that we breathe in this world and how we treat all of Allah’s creation beyond fellow human beings. We must, therefore, remember the action of the heart, are we enacting with a pure niyaat (intention), and is our heart clean?! Will we be able to justify our actions in front of Allah? We have to know the reasons that we are enacting what we are ... we are not the judges of each other. We should focus on our own hearts by examining our niyaat, time and time again, and it will reflect our individual relationship with Allah.
Allah knows what is in our hearts if we constantly ask ourselves; is this pleasing to Allah, or that He removes that which prevents us from getting closer to Him. When we respond negatively; it is because of our nafs (ego / lower-self), which is stronger! It means that we have to work on it because our Prophet SAW identified it as the greatest jihad.
Tumblr media
#3. After a nerve-wracking delay, a medically-drunk Shaykh Taner appeared, and he poignantly wanted to talk about our fear of death. We are complex beings with different personalities, and doctors realise this when knowledge has to be accumulated. For instance, where Shaykh Taner experienced all the negative side effects to a new form of medication recommended to control his cholesterol. Most of our lives are stupidly passed by, and we have about twenty years of quality life spent. So the fear of death can be dealt with in two ways, where we don't realise it, or we face death in every moment of our lives. Most of us are afraid of death because it is embedded in us, with our observations. Fear of death can be overcome by our education through our connection, and the Qur'an was identified as an important factor!
Allah says everyone is going to live the experience of death, which was an intense reality for me, what with being raised out of two-month coma, Ya Shakur (Divine gratitude!). Death is the separation of our soul from the body. Before we die, information is downloaded from our brains into our souls. Then, we are in the soul as an energetic form that is free of the processes of death. Most poignantly, Anne reported that after she complied with a mureed's (follower) request to let us all know that Shaykh Taner was meant to face a surgical procedure ... In the X-ray scans, there was not a single stone found in his gallbladder, which Anne could only attribute to the flood of dua'a (prayers) coming from us, his students.
This was the grateful but whimsical message we received from our Shaykh Taner:
Salams, thank you for your prayers, it works very well half the time. Please repeat.
#4. Anne then reflected medically sobering haqq (spiritual truths), where when we are thinking about who and what we are; we have to be aware of our domain, and life or death as Allah's domain! Our domain is surrender so that we can experience Allah to our full capacity. If we are lucky and blessed to be Allah's khalifa (vicegerant or representative), we have realised what Allah has created us for. What that means is that being Allah's khalifa will be different for each of us. It is because Allah wanted each of us as unique beings, and that may make us feel alone and misunderstood.
Another supposition is that we will be completed by our friends or marriages, but our completeness in life will be achieved when we fulfill our purpose in life 100%, which comes through with our relationship with Allah! It will not come from outside but from within our hearts, when our brains have completely surrendered to complete connection. It's okay to listen to other people's stories as the lessons are given to us through Qur'anic stories. This is how we learn, but we are here to live our individual story.
We have spiritual support from our Pirs (spiritual guides) and physical support in this world, with Allah as our ultimate supporter. We notice it when we are in a difficult situation and help comes from nowhere, so the question remains: Are we in line with and in connection to Allah? Suppositions and expectations shouldn't go into either the front pack or our backpack of knowledge acquisition. When we meet knowledge, we use these packs accordingly, but our suppositions and expectations don't belong in us! We must seek whatever gives us peace in floating in Allah's sea in our loving connection to Him.
#5. Lastly, we sadly discovered that this is a world without the bright mind and soul of Irish; folk rock, singer-songwriter, Sinead O'Connor. In her last living years, she even proclaimed that she identifies herself as a Sufi Muslim, Subhana'Allah! She may well be judged for her mental illnesses and being a social misfit, as most of us Sufis are anyway! However, her spiritual testimonial was uplifting...
youtube
As can be seen below, her younger self had been ever-critical of mainstream culture, and her candour for being authentic, courageous! At the end of her lifelong search for haqq (spiritual truth), she was brought to the doorstep of Allah through Sufism. Another legend of a musician and convert to Islam, Yusuf Islam (formerly Cat Stevens), had this to say about her passing and Ameen to his dua'a:
"Sad to hear of the passing of sister Shuhada Sadaqat, also known as Sinead O'Connor. She was a tender soul, may God, Most Merciful, grant her everlasting peace. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajioon (We come from Allah and to Allah is our eventual return),"
youtube
In conclusion, how privileged are we to live in a world with our Shaykh Taner. Including a world where haqq (spiritual truth) has been proclaimed by vastly different beings and former secularists in the former Sinead O'Connor and Cat Stevens. Allah bless their souls eternally for following His haqq with calculated reasoning:
Ya Alim Ya Hakim Ya Haseeb Ya Haqq Ya Rashid
Ya Salaam (and please Allah, adorn them with peace)
It is time for your Abbu's Arabic Khuthbah, bismillah...

2. Takbir
It is Sunnah to say
Takbir ("Allahu akbar"),
Tahmid ("Al-hamdu Lillah"),
Tahlil ("La ilaha ill-Allah")
and Tasbih ("Subhan Allah")
during the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, and to say it loudly in the mosque, the home, the street and every place where it is permitted to remember Allah and mention His name out loud, as an act of worship and as a proclamation of the greatness of Allah, may He be exalted.
Men should recite these phrases out loud, and women should recite them quietly.
[al-Hajj 22:28]
The majority of scholars agree that the "appointed days" are the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, because of the words of Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him and his father):
"The ‘appointed days’ are the first ten days (of Dhul-Hijjah)."
The Takbir may include the words "Allahu akbar, Allahu akbar, la ilaha ill-Allah; wa Allahu akbar wa Lillaahi’l-hamd (Allah is Most Great, Allah is Most Great, there is no god but Allah; Allah is Most Great and to Allah be praise)," as well as other phrases.
p5
3. Performing Hajj and ‘Umrah.
One of the best deeds that one can do during these ten days is to perform Hajj to the Sacred House of Allah. The one whom Allah helps to go on Hajj to His House and to perform all the rituals properly is included in the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him):
"An accepted Hajj brings no less a reward than Paradise."
p6
4. Doing more good deeds in general
Since good deeds are beloved by Allah and will bring a great reward from Him. Whoever is not able to go to Hajj should occupy himself at this blessed time by :
worshipping Allah,
praying (salah),
reading Quran,
remembering Allah,
making supplication (du’a),
giving charity,
honouring his parents,
upholding the ties of kinship,
enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil,
and other good deeds and acts of worship.
p7
5. Sacrifice.
One of the good deeds that will bring a person closer to Allah during these ten days is offering a sacrifice, by choosing a high-quality animal and fattening it, and spending money for the sake of Allah.
The best sacrifice is a camel, then a cow, then a sheep, then a share of a camel or cow.
p8
6. Sincere repentance .
One of the most important things to do during these ten days is to repent sincerely to Allah and to give up all kinds of disobedience and sin.
Repentance means coming back to Allah and foregoing all the deeds, open and secret, that He dislikes, out of regret for what has passed, giving it up immediately and being determined never to return to it, but to adhere firmly to the Truth by doing what Allah loves.
If a Muslim commits a sin, he must hasten to repent at once, without delay, firstly because he does not know when he will die, and secondly because one evil deed leads to another.
Repentance at special times is very important because in most cases people’s thoughts turn towards worship at these times, and they are keen to do good, which leads to them recognizing their sins and feeling regret for the past. Repentance is obligatory at all times, but when the Muslim combines sincere repentance with good deeds during the days of most virtue, this is a sign of success, in sha Allah.

There's a constant battle going inside my head.
There's a constant battle going inside my head. My conscience(Zameer) conflicting with my Nafs. I keep hearing some voices from time to time coming from inside of me, in my mind. I don't understand where do they come from or it is Shaytan who's whispering them in my ears. Stopping me from approaching opportunities. Ceasing my capacity of rational thinking. Making me self-judgmental. Compelling me to start doubting my ownself, my own capabilities. Making me saying things to myself like you're worthless, you’re lazy, you’re stupid, you’re unlovable, etc. Which is eventually making me hate myself. However, forgetting how could you hate yourself? Despite, When Allahﷻ loves you the most. Heﷻ loves you more than seventy mothers. When our prophet Muhammad ﷺ loves you the most. How?
Maybe the reason behind procrastinating over everything is also these voices. Making me lazier day by day. And when I procrastinate, I judge myself pretty harshly, telling myself I’m not a good person, I'm just like a sack of potatoes. Moreover, what concerns me is that everyone is productive and are achieving their goals, except me. Asking myself why I'm not good enough?Somedays, these voices inside of me don't even let me sleep. Spending nights overthinking. Yet, i forget that we're human beings. Our lord created us as humans. And every human has different capabilities and potentialities on the basis of which, we work accordingly. We make mistakes, making us aware of what needs to be changed in order to improve. Besides, every human has their vices too. With whom a person constantly battles or either befriend them, that means to become slave of 'em. These vices or lusts are also aroused by our nafs. When Shaytan and nafs team up against us. They trick us in different different ways with gimmicks and deceptions, to make us go astray. But we should stay steadfast on our deen, and ask Allahﷻ for help and protection from evil. However, we make mistakes, we learn and we overcome. Nevertheless, we do keep repeating some of our mistakes untill we learn from them. Though, people don't see our struggles and just kept throwing their words as knives. They don't think that their mouths could work like a bows and words like arrows. And could criticality damage one's feelings. Even if they kill someone, someday. But who cares. And it is also their words behind the growth of these voices. It isn't easy to win over these voices. It is our conscience which help us to keep fighting the inner battle, against the things that we don't speak out. These troubles we've got may arises through the traumatic events we experience or have experienced. It just end up making a chaos inside your head. It feels like a graveyard, occasionally we end up burying something inside of us. In the end, what we came to realise is that these voices are nothing but created by our own Nafs, when befriended by Shaytan. ["Auzubillahi-Minashaitan-Nirajeem": I seek refuge in Allah from the outcast Shaitan.] And, as for the thoughts, it can be seen as an example of a pathway where different passersby passes and it's upto you to whom do you have to pay attention to. If you gave your attention to the wrong one, it will eventually harm you. And for the right one, it will be beneficial for you. ["In-Sha-Allah": if Allah wills.] And to make a difference between the right and wrong, our conscience works. And ask Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى): "Ya Rabb, grant me the strength to change the things i can, the courage to accept the things i can't, and the wisdom to know the difference."
Somethings are better to be left unsaid. “Whether you conceal what is in your hearts or reveal it, Allah will know it.” He knows what is in the heavens and what is in the earth. Allah is powerful over everything.[ Aal-Imran | 3:29] Indeed. He's all knowing: Rab-ul-alameen. Our pain is as temporary as this world. Every disease has it's cure. Verily, it is our lord who shall heal the chest of his believers. Whosoever believe in his guidance and mercy, his heart will be cured. "...And (He) shall heal the breast of the believers." [At-Tawba | 9:14] Surely, heﷻ test us by putting us in trials. And verily, with hardship comes ease. How can we forget that this worldly life is only temporary enjoyment, and indeed, the hereafter is the home of permanent settlement? We all are here today and gone tomorrow. And all these worldly possessions will end up being worthless. And only our good deeds will remain with us on the day of judgement. May Allah ﷻ forgive us all for our sins. May Allah ﷻ grant us relief from all that suffocates us and constricts us. May heﷻ grant us peace amongst the turmoils and tribulations. May Allah ﷻ grant us protection against laziness, cowardice, miserliness and the punishment of the grave. May Allahﷻ grant our souls dutifulness and purify them from arrogance, envy, egoism, selfishness, greed, lust, intolerance, anger, lying, cheating, gossiping, and slandering. May Allahﷻ guard us all. As he's the bestower of faith and Security: "Al-Mu’min". And the Guardian: "Al-Muhaymin". May Allah ﷻ take our lives when he's most pleased with us and help us all to get over these mental traumas.
Ameen ya rabbul alameen!🌼🍃
Fi-Aman-illah!🥀

[Reminder] Twitter Campaign To Raise Awareness Regarding Islamic Scholars Behind Prison:
"If you don’t have a Twitter account, make one and contribute to this noble cause, In Sha Allah.
Just one tweet; it maybe huge on the scales of good on Yawmul Qiyam, Bi-Idhnillah."
Narrated Anas bin Malik:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "Help your brother, whether he is an oppressor or he is an oppressed one." [Sahih al-Bukhari 2443]
• Sheikh Omar Bakri Muhammad
Tumblr media
"Sheikh Omar has been unjustly held by the Lebanese authorities in the notorious Roumieh prison since April 2014. His original sentence ended 3 years ago and he has been held without charge since then, with almost 2 years in compete isolation. His health has deteriorated rapidly recently due to being tortured. His next court appearance (of which there have been many and which are usually just cancelled or postponed indefinitely) is on the 13th September 2021.
Hence a Twitter campaign has been organised to create as much pressure on the Lebanese authorities and the ones in charge of the prison between now and then.
Date for the campaign: On 9th September 2021, Thursday, In Sha Allâh.▫️UK 10pm▫️New York 5pm▫️Sydney 07am
(Same timings as the Twitter campaign for Shaykh Nasir Al Fahd,
▫️The main hashtag for the campaign, as on the campaign post: #freesheikhomarbakrimuhammad
Sheikh Omar has appealed to all Muslims to put pressure on the man in charge of the prison Imad Othman, the Major-General, General Director of the Internal Security Forces since 2017 (email [email protected]) to at least remove him from unnecessary isolation so that he can deal with his case as others within the prison are able to and to stop the inhuman treatment.
NOTE: This campaign is to be carried out In Sha Allâh, just one day before the Twitter storm for Shaykh Nasir Al Fahd,
• Shaykh Nasir al Fahd
Tumblr media
"The noble Shaykh, who has memorised the Qur’an in 3months and has memorised 9 books of Hadith, has been imprisoned by the Saudi Government for the past 19yrs and had been put under extreme conditions in prison such as solitary confinement, mental and physical tortures and humiliation.
And recently, some brothers were able to contact Shaykh Ahmad Musa Jibril (حفظ الله), Alhamdulillah, who shared about receiving a news regarding a secretive ongoing trial in which the Saudi Government is planning to execute Shaykh Nasir Al Fahd, May Allâh Azzawajal protect the Shaykh from the enemies, and grant him Sabr and Thabat.
Alhamdulillah. A Twitter campaign has thus been organised In Sha Allâh to create awareness about this and to pressure the Taghut Government of Saudi Arabia.
Let’s show our unity, Bi-Idhnillah!
The last Twitter storm organised by Shyakh Ahmad Musa Jibril (حفظه الله) was the biggest one ever done for any prisoner, and after it, they permitted Shaykh Nasir Al Fahd (فك الله أسره) to contact his family for the first time in ages! Alhamdulillah!
Do keep in mind that for some because of the different time zones, Alhamdulillah, the set date and time falls for 11th September, Saturday, Alhamdulillah.
The hashtags for the Campaign are:
‌‏⁧ #ناصر_الفهد ⁩
‌‏⁦ #Free_Nasr_Alfhd
May Allâh bless everyone involved, help us in aiding to protect His Deen for His Sake, hasten the release of the prisoners, place Barakah in the efforts, and make it heavy on the scales of good on Yawmul Qiyamah.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Surah Al-Imran Ayah 124-129
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
124. (Remember) when you said to the believers, "Is it not enough for you that your Lord should help you with three thousand angels sent down!'' 125. "But, if you hold on to patience and have Taqwa, and the enemy comes rushing at you; your Lord will help you with five thousand angels having marks (of distinction).'' 126. Allah made it not but as a message of good news for you and as an assurance to your hearts. And there is no victory except from Allah, the All- Mighty, the All-Wise. 127. That He might cut off a part of those who disbelieve, or expose them to infamy, so that they retire frustrated. 128. Not for you is the decision; whether He turns in mercy to (pardon) them or punishes them; verily, they are the wrongdoers. 129. And to Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. He forgives whom He wills, and punishes whom He wills. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
The Support of the Angels
Allah says,
(Remember) when you said to the believers, "Is it not enough for you that your Lord should help you with three thousand angels sent down!''
The scholars of Tafsir differ over whether the promise contained in these Ayat referred to the battle of Badr or Uhud.
The First View;
There are two opinions about this, one of them saying that Allah's statement, (Remember) when you said to the believers) is related to His statement, (And Allah has already made you victorious at Badr), (3:123).
This was reported from Al-Hasan Al-Basri, Amr Ash-Sha`bi, Ar-Rabi bin Anas and several others, Ibn Jarir also agreed with this opinion.
Abbad bin Mansur said that Al-Hasan said that;
Allah's statement, ((Remember) when you said to the believers, "Is it not enough for you that your Lord should help you with three thousand angels''), is about the battle of Badr;
Ibn Abi Hatim also recorded this statement.
Ibn Abi Hatim then reported that Amr Ash-Sha`bi said,
"On the day of Badr, the Muslims received information that Kurz bin Jabir (a prominent tribe chief) was aiding the idolators, and this news was hard on them, so Allah revealed;
"Is it not enough for you that your Lord (Allah) should help you with three thousand angels sent down''), until, (having marks (of distinction)), (3:124,125). The news of the defeat of the idolators (at Badr) reached Kurz and he did not reinforce them, and thus, Allah did not reinforce the Muslims with the five (thousands of angels).''
As for Ar-Rabi bin Anas, he said,
"Allah supported the Muslims with one thousand (angels), then the number reached three thousand, then five thousand.''
If one asks, according to this opinion, how can we combine between this Ayah and Allah's statement about Badr, and He answered you (saying): "I will help you with a thousand angels, each behind the other (following one another) in succession.'' until, Verily!
Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise) (8:9-10), we say that the one thousand mentioned here does not contradict the three thousand mentioned in the above Ayah (3:124).
The word "in succession'' means they follow each other and thus indicates that thousands more will follow them.
The two Ayat above (8:9 and 3:124) are similar in meaning and it appears that they both were about the battle of Badr, because the angels did fight in the battle of Badr, as the evidence indicates.
Allah knows best.
Allah's statement,
But if you hold on to patience and have Taqwa, means, if you observe patience while fighting the enemy, all the while fearing Me and obeying My command.
and they will come rushing, Al-Hasan, Qatadah, Ar-Rabi and As-Suddi said that Allah's statement means, they (angels) will rush to you instantaneously.
Al-Awfi said that Ibn Abbas said that the Ayah means, "All at once.''
It is also said that; it means, before their anger subsides (against the disbelievers).
The Second View;
The second opinion stipulates that the promise mentioned here (concerning the angels participating in battle) is related to Allah's statement, (And (remember) when you left your household in the morning to post the believers at their stations for the battle) (3:121) of Uhud.
However, we should add, the angels did not come to the aid of Muslims at Uhud, because Allah made it conditional, (But if you hold on to patience and have Taqwa), (3:125).
The Muslims were not patient at Uhud. Rather, they ran away and, consequently, did not receive the support of even one angel.
Allah's statement, your Lord will help you with five thousand angels having marks, of distinction.
Abu Ishaq As-Subay`i said; from Harithah bin Mudarrib said that Ali bin Abi Talib said,
"The angels were distinguished by wearing white wool at Badr.''
The angels also had special markings distinguishing their horses.
Allah said,
Allah made it not but as a message of good news for you and as an assurance to your hearts, This Ayah means, "Allah sent down angels and told you about their descent to encourage you and to comfort and reassure your hearts. You should know that victory only comes from Allah and that if He willed, He would have defeated your enemy without you having to fight them.''
For instance, Allah said after commanding the believers to fight,
But if it had been Allah's will, He Himself could certainly have punished them (without you). But (He lets you fight) in order to test some of you with others. But those who are killed in the way of Allah, He will never let their deeds be lost. He will guide them and set right their state. And admit them to Paradise which He has made known to them. (47:4-6)
This is why Allah said here,
Allah made it not but as a message of good news for you and as an assurance to your hearts. And there is no victory except from Allah, the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.
This Ayah means,
"Allah is the Almighty Whose power can never be undermined, and He has the perfect wisdom in His decrees and in all His decisions.''
Allah said,
That He might cut off a part of those who disbelieve, meaning, out of His wisdom, He commands you to perform Jihad and to fight.
Allah then mentions the various consequences of performing Jihad against the disbelievers.
For instance, Allah said, (That He might cut off a part...), meaning, to cause a part of a nation to perish.
of those who disbelieve, or expose them to infamy, by disgracing them and forcing them to return with only their rage, having failed in their aim to harm you.
This is why Allah said next, or expose them to infamy, so that they retire, to go back to their land, frustrated.
without achieving their aims.
Allah then mentions a statement that testifies that the decision in this life and the Hereafter is for Him Alone without partners, Not for you is the decision; whether He turns in mercy to (pardon) them or punishes them; verily, they are the wrongdoers.
(Not for you is the decision), meaning, "The matter is all in My Hand.''
Allah also said,
your duty is only to convey (the Message) and on Us is the reckoning. (13:40)
and,
Not upon you is their guidance, but Allah guides whom He wills. (2:272)
and,
Verily, you guide not whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills. (28: 56)
Muhammad bin Ishaq said that Allah's statement, (Not for you is the decision), means, "No part of the decision regarding My servants is yours, except what I command you.''
Allah then mentions the rest of the consequences of Jihad, whether He pardons them, concerning the acts of disbelief that they commit, thus delivering them from misguidance to the guidance.
or punishes them; in this life and the Hereafter because of their disbelief and errors.
verily, they are the wrongdoers.
and thus, they deserve such a fate.
Al-Bukhari recorded that, Salim bin Abdullah said that his father said that he heard the Messenger of Allah saying – when he raised his head from bowing in the second unit of the Fajr prayer --
"O Allah! Curse so-and-so,'' after saying; Sami` Allahu Liman Hamidah, Rabbana wa lakal-Hamd. Thereafter, Allah revealed this Ayah, (Not for you is the decision).
This was also recorded by An-Nasa'i.
Imam Ahmad recorded that Salim bin Abdullah said that his father said that he heard the Messenger of Allah saying,
O Allah! Curse so-and-so.
O Allah! Curse Al-Harith bin Hisham.
O Allah! Curse Suhayl bin Amr.
O Allah! Curse Safwan bin Umayyah.
Thereafter, this Ayah was revealed; (Not for you is the decision; whether He turns in mercy to (pardon) them or punishes them; verily, they are the wrongdoers).
All these persons were pardoned (after they embraced Islam later on).
Al-Bukhari recorded that Abu Hurayrah said that; when Allah's Messenger would supplicate against or for someone, he would do so when he was finished bowing and saying; Sami` Allahu Liman Hamidah, Rabbana wa lakal-Hamd.
He would then say, (the Qunut)  Allah! Save Al-Walid bin Al-Walid, Salamah bin Hisham, Ayyash bin Abi Rabiah and the weak and the helpless people among the faithful believers.
O Allah! Be hard on the tribe of Mudar and let them suffer from years of famine like that of the time of Yusuf.
He would say this supplication aloud.
He sometimes would supplicate during the Dawn prayer, "O Allah! Curse so-and-so (persons),'' mentioning some Arab tribes. Thereafter, Allah revealed, (Not for you is the decision).
Al-Bukhari recorded that Hamid and Thabit said that, Anas bin Malik said that the Prophet was injured during the battle of Uhud and said,
How can a people achieve success after having injured their Prophet?
Thereafter, (Not for you is the decision), was revealed.
Imam Ahmad recorded that Anas said that, the Prophet's front tooth was broken during the battle of Uhud and he also sustained injuries on his forehead until blood dripped on his face.
The Prophet said,
How can a people achieve success after having done this to their Prophet who is calling them to their Lord, the Exalted and Most Honored? Allah revealed, (Not for you is the decision; whether He turns in mercy to (pardons) them or punishes them; verily, they are the wrongdoers).
Muslim also collected this Hadith.
Allah then said,
And to Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is in the Earth.
everything is indeed the property of Allah and all are servants in His Hand.
He forgives whom He wills, and punishes whom He wills. for His is the decision and none can resist His decision.
Allah is never asked about what He does, while they will be asked.
and Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.

Note
Salam sister I hope you are well.
I sent you a message a couple days ago regarding my situation with these two guys I was dealing with and I just wanted to update you. First, I just want to say thank you so much for your response and thank you to the people who gave me advice under the post you guys don’t know how much it helped. So I took your advice and made istikhara. I honestly don’t know if I did it correctly but I feel like it’s all about intentions. So after praying istikhara I went to sleep and I had a bad dream about the guy I really wanted ( I’ve never dreamt about him) we were married and he was cheating and the feeling I had in that dream was the worse emotional pain ever I woke up in the middle of the night crying. I woke up to pray fajir and wanted to try something else. I made one of my good friends message him through Instagram to see if he responds and sadly, he did and he was entertaining the whole thing and even asked for her Snapchat. When I confronted him about it, he kept saying that he knew it was me and was just trying to mess with me, he flipped the entire thing on me and was saying what I did was wrong and he feels offended that I don’t trust him then I started to feel bad because he made feel like I ruined everything but I told him right then and there that it wasn’t going to work between us and that we needed to stop talking. It hurts a lot because I really liked him and he really liked me. Can you love someone and feel this connection if they’re not meant for you? Can making a good decision feel so wrong? As of for the other guy, my parents really like him and he’s a good guy but I don’t have any feelings for him obviously because we haven’t spoken yet.
Wa 'alaykum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
Alhumdulilah Allah made things crystal clear to you. I know all of this must have really pained you and I send you a virtual hug :( <3
Although I feel that sending him dms by a friend was not the appropriate way to do things, he still can't blame you for it. He entertained the conversation. I'm glad you stood for yourself and ended it.
"Can you love someone and feel this connection if they’re not meant for you? Can making a good decision feel so wrong?" Yes and yes sis. Absolutely. It's painful but it totally happens.
"As of for the other guy, my parents really like him and he’s a good guy but I don’t have any feelings for him obviously because we haven’t spoken yet."
If I be honest, a lot of times you won't get feelings for a person but you choose them because they have the qualities you are looking for and you know you can spend a good life with them. I personally don't search for feelings anymore, I know what I want and if he has it, then there's no reason for me to say no. But I do look at if our personalities can go well together too.
My cousin who recently got married, allahumma baarik laha, told me the same. She said she didn't have feelings for her now spouse when she said yes to the alliance but there wasn't much reason for her to turn the proposal away. Alhumdulilah now they are in love allahumma baarik and are happy.
What I said, people can disagree with, it's a debatable topic. It's just how I now understand things. You can catch feelings for those who aren't good for you and you feel they are the one because of those feelings, and on the opposite side, for the right one you may not catch any feelings at all but you trust that they'll treat you right and the feelings will develop. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyway, get to know him in sha Allah and whatever Allah decrees will come to pass. Whatever He decrees is best and what is written to be yours, will be yours. Whatever isn't written to be yours, will never be yours. May Allah make the process easy for you and guide you at each step, ameen ya rabb. ♡

The people of success and wisdom are those who can differentiate between needs and wants.
1. We all NEED to be loved, but we don't need an epic love story. Despite how much we may yearn for it, the bottom line is not everyone will have a fairytale love story in this life. The consolation is that for the believers, who prioritize the love of Allah in this life, their epic love story is inevitable in sha Allah in the next life. So if you've ever had or still have someone who cares for you, who is committed to taking care of you, who fulfills their rights to you, even if it's not the most perfect or ideal match, just be grateful that you know what it means to be loved. There are many people who have never known love at all; from the beginning of their existence they've only known hatred, abuse, and oppression. Be grateful and stop complaining.
2. We all NEED comfort, but we don't need extravagance and for our every convenience to be taken care of. If you have health, employment, a nice home, car, clothes for every season, money in your pocket to spend for leisure and activity, then be GRATEFUL. Looking at those who have more than you and feeling like you're somehow deprived is the height of entitlement and ingratitude. There are people whose existence for decades has only been DISCOMFORT, INCONVENIENCE, SCARCITY, & INSECURITY. Imagine what they would do for one day with your lifestyle!
3. We all NEED to feel seen, but we don't need fame and constant praise. To seek validation, praise, approval, for the way you look, the work you do, the clothes you wear, the spouse you have, the house you have, the car you drive, the food you eat, the places you travel to, the talents you possess, the wealth you've accumulated, the good deeds you do, the people you know, the knowledge you have, and any other privilege you've been blessed with is a DISEASE of the heart. Nothing escapes the knowledge of your Creator & beyond your outward actions He knows your inward reality, so why aren't you as concerned about His opinion of you? Isn't enough that He brought you into existence from NOTHING? Isn't it enough that you are seen by the Unseen? And yet, you don't make pleasing HIM as much of a priority as pleasing others, even those who reject Him!
May we all be people of success and wisdom. May we stop chasing our wants and displaying ingratitude for what we have. May we focus on what we need and turn to the One who fulfills all our needs. Amin.

Twenty twenty
It is 8th of January 2020.
Honestly, I cant feel the transition of the decade at all (if it was not for the count down on tv2).
Late December 2019 and early January 2020 saw us in such profound situations, an awakening to a humble start of the year, start of the decade.
Fire in Australia, bombing here and there, flood, pandemic, etcetera etcetera.
Through December, my sister suffered from a severe headache, that wont allow her to even stand up properly, affecting her whole head, down to the neck and right shoulder. She depended on painkiller to go through everyday. To make it worst, as a final year dental student, she could hardly attend to her patients. This went on for weeks and the GP suggested her to see a neurologist as they could not detect her problem. She kept on delaying coming back as she feels that she had a lot to complete and on the other hand, she had'nt prepared for any diagnosis.
As she could barely handle the continous and horrendous pain, she flew home and set an appointment with a neurologist at a private hospital (after several arrangements). At this time, I was lucky because my little brother was around, along with my sister's best friend to accompany us. She undergone CT scan and MRI, and was suspected glioma, with diffused hyperintense lesion on the right cerebullar cortex. As laymen, we were so worried with this condition, as the specialist suggested another MRI if the pain persist after some medication, thatvis after two months. However, ibu consulted our cousin and a family friend, and they asked to seek for second opinion.
Allah is great!
Ibu's friend suggested another specialist in a government hospital who subspecialised in neurointerventional radiology. He suggested that my sister come home again by end of that week as her condition may deteriorate fast and January would be too late. So again, she came back in the same month, underwent another set of MRA and MRI and it was confirmed right pica territory infarction. There were necrosis tissues in the blood vessels, inhibiting it to supply blood and oxygen to certain area of the brain. In simple term, its stroke! Stroke? Stroke, people! It's a mild stroke but if goes untreated, could cause paralysis. Condition is not reversible but can be prevented in other places. Once the brain cells are dead, they can not be regenerated. Naudzubillah min zalik.
I have to state that my sister is an active, healthy 26 year old. She goes gym at least twice a week and eats healthily. I mean: she cuts sugar, and drinks plain water most of the time too! What could possibly go wrong? So the specialist referred her to another neurosurgeon for the treatment management. Alhamdulillah, it wasnt a rare case, a lot of older people gets them, but in youngsters, statistically only one case per year.
Now, just as my sister flew back to her place, my son was down with a high fever. This was the last day of 2019. Just four days before, we went for a follow up with a paedatrician on his speech delay at another hospital (the last appointment it seemed, as fahim has overcome his problem, alhamdulillah). We went to our usual outing to the mall on the weekend before too. On the first day of 2020, we went to see a GP as Fahim's temperature didnt subside even after pcm supp. So the GP prescribed diclofenac sodium (NSAID) (yes, wait for it!) besides antibiotic and flu syrup. We happily returned home cause after one whole day, that's the only medication that made Fahim's temperature back to normal. So we continued giving him the supps up to day 4, having used 4 whole supps...
On Day 3, my husband then catch a cold too. His, was different. He could feel the heat and pain, concentrated on the head and eyes area. He shivers a lot and his cold sweats dampens our couch. So the next day, again we went to GP, and he tested my husband for Influenza.. And he was Influenza A positive. We were so sure that he got the virus from Fahim, so the doctor referred us to the hospital. At this time, my good old friend told me not to use the NSAID. And just minutes after, the news spread of acute encephalopathy associated with influenza in small kids and NSAID was everywhere! On whatssap, facebook, news, you name it! We freaked out and worried sick! Even at the hospital, (we chose another government hospital) the emergency department couldnt admit my husband and fahim, but politely gave us quarantine leave for five days and some medication for the whole quarantine time. She said at least 50 positive cases of influenza were referred there daily! Definitely an outbreak. But after 2 weeks if the symptoms still around or the condition worsens, we were to come back to the hospital. Even the supposed medicine for Influenza were reserved only for critical patients. We had to make sure Fahim and Fahmy drinks lotss of water and take PCM timely.
So, quarantine. Seems simple.
When you are in your second trimester, with a toddler and a husband with Influenza A to take care of, its farrrr from simple, ladies and gentlemen.
(At this point I am still contemplating to write on the challenges or not, seems ungrateful and as if I am the only one facing this, but as a wife and a mother, you learn every now and then, forever. So. Here are some for the memories.)
1. Your kid who lovesss medicine refuse to take medicine the time you wanted him to and I literally had to force him with a taek-wan-do white belt that I have. And pcm is 4 hourly.
2. His temperature would stay at 39 degree celcius. Come down around 37.8-9 for an hour, after an hour or 2 of pcm, than you feed him another round of pcm. Back to 1st point.
3. As temperature hardly comes down, you had to "jerlum" a loghat we learned from the emergency medical officer. And this boy refused to place a wet cloth on his head! Whats more, under his armpits or other parts of the body!
4. He refused milk. At one time I thought ok maybe "nak putus susu". I was glad too, but what I did, made him syrup drink in a 300ml bottle, and he survived on only that daily (and some liquid when we feed him medicine). When he woke up zillion times at night, he'll drink from that syrup too. No milk for few days. This worries us too, but 300ml better than nothing.
5. What is clingy again?
6. Your husband's temperature wont come down and he's not his usual self for few days was distressing.
I mean, its a different level of sabr altogether! Honestly, I didnt think I'll survive. Body ache, mentally and physically exhausted. I am definitely not one with the most patience on earth, I admit. Everyday praying for strength and an end to this episode.
.
.
.
Allahuakbar Allahuakbar Allahuakbar!
After a torturous yet meaningful week, Fahim and Fahmy recovered. Alhamdulillah. Thumma alhamdulillah.
This was a great kick start of our decade.
And Fahim started asking for his milk as usual.
.
.
.
So people, in 2020,
1. Listen to your body. Dont stress yourself too much. If you detect something unusual, no harm checking.
2. Stroke can happen to anyone, anytime. Lead a balanced life. At least it lessens the risk.
3. Drink plenty of water. Everytime. Better yet.
4. Get vaccinated. Cant stress enough on this. Flu vaccine's available. I had it during last umrah I think. Prevention is better than cure.
5. Sabar sabar and sabar.
6. Cant believe we are in Year 2020! Have a great decade! In sha Allah
