sometimes i feel like toby fox made spamton and the addisons especially for people to hyperfixate on. everything about them seems so perfect for people to go rabid about its insane to me

for one, spamton himself pretty much counts for 4 people, those being addispam, big shot spamton, in game spamton, and spamton neo. now sure you mostly see people going rabid about in game spamton but ive seen plenty of people who are obsessed with a version we dont get to see on screen

secondly, even the main in game spamton himself is kinda up to interpretation. loads of people characterise him differently. if i compared two aus to eachother theyd often be very different and depending on the ones i chose could be almost like 2 different people, and then if i compared those to in-game spamton, theyd still be very different. also since you dont see addispam and big shot spamton on screen you dont even know what they acted like so again basically you can make your own guy to fixate on with a few prompts as to what he was like

dont even get me started on the addisons. now im biased as fuck here seeing that ive been fixated on the addisons for like 6 months now (send help) but toby fox basically gave us 4 templates for us to have fun with. sure based off of in game dialogue you have a bit to go off of when it comes to their personality (pink being an asshole and blue being caring for example) but even then every addison in every different au is slightly different and i have never seen two addisons turn out exactly the same. ALSO you dont even know the relationship these characters have to spamton meaning you can have them be siblings, you can have them be friends, or you can ship them based off of what you enjoy. OR you could just ignore them altogether (which a lot of people do lmao)

also another thing is the fact that you dont necessarily need to have your addisons' personalities just reflect off of spamtons. I mean the main 4 addisons give you enough to go off of to make your own, and you are given cyber city, an entire fantasy world for you to put them in. cyber city again is up to interpretation, some people have it be like a normal city, some people make it a utopia, some people make it a hellscape. the choice is yours!!

and even then in game spamton is so versatile. he is perfect for angsty stuff, fluffy stuff, or jsut silly stuff, and none of it is out of character. you couldnt really make an angsty spongebob edit could you, itd be weird and out of characer and no one would take it seriously. but also you couldnt make a silly walten files video, sure people do but its out of character and wouldnt actually happen canonically. but spamton on the other hand. hes the kinda guy who you can draw holding a wallet in his mouth like a cat and generally being silly but also you could draw him sobbing at the bottom of dumpster and neither would be out of character!! AAAA

also extra thing i thought id add but his backstory is also very up to interpretation, like i dont think ive ever seen two people who think spamtons rise and downfall went exactly the same. sure everyone has the same general idea of how it went but some people believe in acid theory, some people believe in puppetification theory, some people have a mix of both, some people have their own idea of how it went down, and with that you can project different parts of your own trauma onto whatever happened to him.

as to the wider question? why blow up chances to make progressive change by supporting nonsense candidates who are just unfunny versions of Vermin Supreme? hm I don't know, but I suspect that for a lot of them, politics aren't really real to them. It's like ideological football for them, the most important thing is to "be right" and "win the argument" over in reality, we have to sometimes work with people we loath, sometimes we have to put up with shitty things to get what we really want, and always always always its slow work. Listen, in 1912 Teddy Roosevelt put forward the idea of a national health service, over 100 years later we're still fighting for universal health care. Now we've made important steps, everyone over 65 those who need it most, have health coverage through Medicare, others have been added to Medicare, we have Obamacare which regulates the health markets and helps people get affordable coverage and more people are covered now than every before. But people like we're talking about would rather than was Nothing for anyone, that everyone was not covered at all, than take an answer that helps people but isn't perfect.

Just isn't my style really, idk I just can't help but think about all the people whose lives got saved by Obamacare and just, what we should have let them die? progress builds it doesn't just appear nothing just happens, so each term you move closer, but each time a Republican gets it, they undermine, undo, go backward. I mean for example, Trump literally wants to get rid of the job in government that advices all the many federal departs on how to be greener and replace it with a guy who's job it'll be to push departments to use more oil and gas.... literally thats a thing, what a perfect example of what a Republican Presidency is about, going backward. Then when we have a Democrat rather than making progress they have to undo all the damage to get to baseline and then start improving.

I also think there's a small group of cynical grifters, when Democrats/liberals/people on the left whatever we want to call them, are scared and frustrated and upset, ie when a Republican is in power and elections are years away, they invest, money, time, energy into things to try to feel like they're making a difference or that they're heard, or validated. Left wing podcasts boom, left wing groups that are good at social media boom, people can become kinda stars and make money. Now many of those people drift off to normal life when there's a safe Democrat not doing horrifying shit every day, the money dries up. So the cynical crowd 1. tries to undermine Democrats to keep that feeling of frustrated hopelessness alive in listeners so they keep toning in and 2. they want Republicans to win! of course! its good for them!

Ongoing Series - Thai

Dangerous Romance (Fri YT) ep 8 of 12 - Sailom, sweetie, Kang is never sleeping alone again. It wasn't really translated, but Kang's way of speaking in that opening stinger was VERY cutsie. Also the gay sheets have made another appearance. I do have to say that "rich kid problems" is not my favorite story arc, but I still think this is a great Thai BL.

Naughty Babe (Sat YT) ep 6 of 8 - I love that they are finally talking to each other but Yi’s whole personality is shifting. Honestly, this pair is great at kissing and casual touches, but the friendships are the best thing about this franchise. Also Mr Chenne remains my fav character. But where did Diao's baby superhero team come from? And why? This show is very confusing... It’s also not very good.

My Universe (Sun iQIYI) You Are My Soulmate ep 7 - This was the one of the series I was looking forward to the most, because silly, pretty, and v BL. It is, in fact all those things and nothing more. So I'm enjoying it, of course.

Absolute Zero (Thai Weds iQIYI) ep 2 of 12 - I like it, but it feels like it's gonna be so sad. I'm having Promise and Dew the movie flashbacks. Plus 12 eps seems too long for this narrative thread. I am worried.

Venus in the Sky (Tues iQIYI) 6 of 10 eps - This show is so slow it's hardly worth the bandwidth, but we attained "baby is a floppy drunk" and thus a finger bite frustration scene, which was nice.

Only Friends (Sat YT) ep 9 of 10 (not a BL but I'm watching it anyway) - Ray is so mean to Sand. The not-a-thing with Sand & Nick was cute. I’ve had several experiences like that. All my queer friendship groups tend to be incestuous, but sometimes they're just too much of a sibling and trying to sleep with them is the most unsexy thing in the universe. To be fair, I’ve also been in Ton’s position (this ep). Jojo sure makes queer shizz. But also, Ton must have a magic rod with everyone wanting a repeat. (I'm so glad they put Neo in this role, no one else at GMMTV could play him as complex or sympathetic.)

You Are Mine (Taiwan Fri Viki) eps 5 of 10 - now officially known by me as "I'm too sunshine for this seme" where our boss is being hella obvious but our cinnamon roll is just too ooey-gooey to notice. Al.though, baby boy, he takes you home, sleeps on top of you, feeds you cookies (IN HIS BED) and keeps you in his space? Surely even this sunshine is catching a few rays of truth?

Bon Appetit (Korea Weds iQIYI) 3-4 of 8 - ah gay panic, also what is Korea's obsession with 7 year separations? Is it only true love if you wait 7 years? Dohoon is SUCH a flirt, it's kinda great! Also, since it's Korea, we got us a bit of a love triangle with 2 hyung romances, so I (of course) am torn. Either way Dohoon is going down. I do love how much time we are spending with the food in this drama, finally one that lives up to its name. On an entirely different note, Korean camping is the most bizare thing to me. It's SO damn civilized. There will be NO DIRT. They pack blow torches. And full dinner sets. Every time I see it in a drama, I'm amused.

My Personal Weatherman AKA Taikan Yoho (Japan Sat Gaga) ep 7 of 8 - OMG these 2 are so in love with each other, and so ridiculous about it. They're tiny idiots but I love them.

If It’s With You AKA Even If I Fall In Love With You AKA Kimi to nara Koi wo Shite Mite mo’ (Japan Gaga) ep 1 of 5 - from MBS a live action adaptation of Kubota Maru’s manga ‘君となら恋をしてみても. Amane has stopped loving people due to trauma until he meets Ryuji. At first Amane just wants to play with Ryuji but… feelings.

I like the odd Japanese mature-childishness in this one. Plus a broken sunshine who is out in a kind of aggresive way and an instinctive caring seme. What's not to love? Well, it's Japan I'm sure it will surprise me one way or another.

(Japan cinema release in-country only) - This one is a movie from Japan so in customary fashion who tf knows when (or if) it will get international distribution. Salaryman Ayumu Koiwai just can't tear his eyes away from the strong, muscular man as he checks on the stocks of the vending machine in his office.

10/31 SHADOW (Thai VIU ????) - this is a horror BL featuring ghosts and other paranormal elements in a high school setting. I'm not wild about Thai horror (or horror at all, but if it must be done in BL let Japan do it). It features Singto (who did paranormal BL He's Coming to Me) opposite Fluke N (who's done a couple horror's before). Also Fiat. Dan suffers from sleep paralysis, and in his dreams he sees a shadow that suffocates him. It gets worse when he transfers schools.

10/? Bump Up Project AKA Bump Up Business (Korea ????) - BL staring OnlyOneOf that released(??) as a movie in July but is now being recut and reissued as a series. Stars NineMill and from Idol Romance bulled as a love story between a trainee who is about to debut and a celebrity from the same agency (based on a webtoon). OnlyOneOf have been auditioning for this since Libido IMHO. You can watch me chronicle their BL MV work in this post. Idol Romance will do sad but can do good kisses (Wish You, Nobleman Ryu, Once Again, Kissable Lips, Poongduck 304, Tasty Florida, Tinted With You) but I don't think we will get any in this. I've had an interest in history, specifically World War II basically since I was a kid. It was only recently though that I found out that there's a community for it! I've been a fan of the Downfall parodies on youtube when I was younger and recently relapsed into this fixation😭 I don't know if this fandom even really exists at this point since it seems that many creators have left in the meantime, but I'd love to talk about it, maybe I'll even get to write fanfics at some point. Also a short disclaimer that when I talk about historical figures that play a major role in the Downfall parody universe (such as Fegelein, Krebs, Burgdorf etc), it will usually be about their parody selves, not the real people! I'll try to clarify that individually if needed though.

I've also started lurking a little in the reichblr tag with a feeling that I'd describe as "indimidated fascination". Currently I'm mostly interested in some members of the Wehrmacht, but other historical figures that I had or have an interest in might come up as well. Overall any stuff that I post will probably go more into the lighthearted and humorous direction, but I'd love to bring in some more educational stuff as well.

I get crushes on fictional characters and sometimes historical figures too, but that doesn't mean I support, condone or defend their worldviews or actions in any way (this applies especially to real people of course)! These "crushes" usually stem from a place of fascination with who they were behind their public appearance, I want to know more about them as a private person, like their hobbies, favourite food and other mundane things like that. Often it's also simply that I feel physically attracted to their appearance because I think they're handsome, either that or they give me massive gender envy (or both lmao). I don't really control on who I fixate like that, it just happens, but I hope that this will be a place for me to express those feelings in some way and find like-minded people. Though I also want to point out that not all my fixations are automatically also crushes! Usually I will mention whether they are or not, or you'll probably notice based on what kind of posts I make about them lol.

I really hate how often neo ra/df/ems will go on and on about how trans fem's transitions are waaaaaay more difficult and they're waaaaaay less likely to pass, but if a trans masc dared to make any similar comparisons, they'd be fucking crucified.

There are a lot of feelings I have around sex-based discrimination and the difficulties of a masculinizing transition. On one hand, I don't think comparing struggles like that is useful (i.e. trans women have harder transitions).

On the other hand, I feel like the reality of the situation is actually quite the opposite for many people (everyone acknowledges that testosterone makes your voice drop and you grow hair, but nobody seems to want to acknowledge hysterectomy vs orchi, voice training is still often needed, electrolysis for phallo, the fact that bottom surgery is usually multi-staged [even metoidioplasty is sometimes 2 stages] with a lot of moving parts and far worse scarring, top surgery is almost a necessity for passing whereas not every trans fem wants top surgery + scars are easier to hide, face masculinization is far less common w/ fewer options, puberty begins earlier in perisex people AFAB and puberty blockers don't always allow for full height to be achieved bc they don't typically allow you to start testosterone until you're about 15 even IF you were a "classic" trans-since-3-years-old kinda case, the extreme body horror that is accidental pregnancy and abortion and menstruation when that's dysphoric vs not being able to carry a pregnancy just feels like an insulting comparison sometimes and I've had multiple trans women call me inconsiderate for expressing horror at getting my bodily rights taken away bc "that triggers my dysphoria", testosterone is a scheduled substance and has more difficult administration methods than simply a pill, etc.)

And so I bite my tongue and try to be the better person, because stooping to that low doesn't help anything. But at the same time it's so extremely frustrating to be told that you "have it better" when, considering the facts, it REALLY feels like the opposite. There's this level of bitterness around that that I am DESPERATELY trying to resolve within myself. I have a therapist. I know it's projection. I'm working on my own bullshit. But please tell me I'm not alone in feeling this way? I just wish they'd stop with that rhetoric and realize just how difficult the average trans masc transition truly is

yeah it's really frustrating for ppl to present Trans Women's Experiences and Trans Men's Experiences as diametrically opposed, with one experience being Eternal Pain And Inescapable Suffering and the other being Barely A Blip On The Life Radar. and while i understand it's coming from a place of pain, i've also experienced a lot of trans women shutting me down when i try to talk about how abortion rights affect me. back when i was first dipping my toe into trans spaces, i was friends with a trans woman who told me it was transmisogynistic of me to want to transition because "trans women would kill to have been born in your body." and while it absolutely comes from a different place than when cis men try to assert control over me and there's not the same power dynamic, it's still a complete stranger feeling entitled to tell me what to do with my body because of the sex i was assigned at birth. it's frustrating to have people i'm supposed to be in community with play into the same sexist bullshit that other people, regardless of gender, have been holding over my head my whole life, feeling like they own my body bc women and ppl who are forcibly assigned the role of women in society are seen as public property. our bodies aren't our own. everyone feels entitled to comment on them and touch them and make decisions about them. and it sucks when it comes from other people who should understand how that feels.

and like. obviously this idea that trans men's transition is so much easier than trans women's is unhelpful bc 1. there is no one particular way for trans men to transition, 2. not everyone who transitions in the way typically associated with trans men is a trans man, 3. it doesn't take into account how disability, race, ethnicity, etc. play into people's experiences before, during, and after transition, and 4. it's just not a fucking competition????? the fact that a disabled black trans man is going to be more systemically oppressed in society than a wealthy white trans woman doesn't mean trans men as a category are Objectively More Oppressed than trans women. bc gender is like. the worst possible way to try to gauge a group's place within the system. bc at this point, gender is not the most powerful system, race is. and i feel like a fuck ton of people really do not recognize that.

another thing that has bugged me for as long as i've been in trans spaces is this bizarre attitude that trans women are doomed to this miserable life of clockability and will never be able to pass as cis women thus they must accept that their life will be nothing but pain and suffering. and that's just very much not true! i know plenty of trans women who "pass" or who are happy with their bodies, who have jobs they love and friends and family who love them, who have a community that supports and celebrates them. and it has just always rubbed me the wrong way that people think they're helping trans women by presenting their existence as Inevitably Miserable when all it does is terrify closeted trans girls who think they're better off never coming out or transitioning, or better off dying. like. we have to understand that these narratives we create, the idea of the perpetually suffering trans woman and the lonely isolated trans man, are absolutely driving people to suicidal ideation. and if we give a shit about trans people, we should be changing these narratives.

They still sometimes fuss haha they're a little less glamorized as a couple to me than like... ubetella for instance. It's two very intense personalities and levels of wit - Ex is a LOT of ego and acts with hubris and because of this he can say/do things that come across kind of mean or instigating. He likes to be perceived as brilliant and thinks nothing wrong of himself sometimes (see: the core storyline within the au) until he gets called out on it at which point he tends to sulk and overanalyze until he figures out he's a meathead. Communication is where the two sometimes fail horribly and thats where tidbits about Neo's shortcomings can come into play-

Neo is actually not nearly as showoffy as Ex but he's not shy and he's definitely not lacking confidence he just doesn't like to talk about his feelings. He really really really doesn't like to discuss his feelings lol. The little mood heart on his bellybutton area is usually covered up but he's tepidly responsive to having it convey something vaguely resembling his current state? Like... he doesn't want everyone to see it but when it comes to Ex he feels better letting that color/light do the talking so that he doesn't have to use his words- if that makes sense!

Things that they "fight" about again come down to that communication struggle and one takes it too seriously and the other doesn't take it seriously enough until it's a humongous mess. A messed up afternoon plans can turn into a two day cold shoulder event or it can explode into something else LOL Locker room jabs and silliness can go over well and then sometimes be really hurtful if one of them is feeling insecure and neither of them are exceptionally good at comfort they just kinda find value in the little things or actually just being quiet around the other (that whole being next to someone who is upset but they dont want hugs or words just another living body nearby)

Edit: to be more specific about "dislike" we can start with the fact that they were literally trying to kill each other at the point in the au where they gotta rescue Frisk! ("Ex is hard to trust but Alphys is like I forgive you, here is a gold star for being good.. (nervous but optimistic)" -Ghost) So not everyone is like "aw yeah I totally trust this guy now" and that includes Neo. Ex is loud and annoying, Neo very much vocalizes how he would hotbox the car and stab his leather seats and you have absolutely no idea how serious that threat is lol. It's a small one, but taking up space, noise, etc when they first start rooming together prolly had a little to do with it. After they started getting more comfortable it pretty much transitioned into those buried insecurities coming back to the surface now and then

one of the reasons why i love jealous haechan headcanons so much is because he seems so secure and confident and smug of himself that i never really see him as someone who gets jealous easily. so in the small moments that he does become possessive you know it really got under his skin and its so hot to think that you'd have that much control over him imagine him losing his mind because he's never had to feel THIS nervous and desperate before like i kinda want this self-assured man trip over himself for assurance that i have eyes FOR HIM AND ONLY FOR HIM hahaahdjashd im rambling

you are absolutely right in that haechan is so confident and self-assured but also sometimes he's so intimidating when he's upset or frustrated beyond words. i would interpret the leo moon in his chart as him having jealous tendencies that have more to do with pride. if you were in a relationship, i can see him first basking in the glow of having someone that everyone wants, being a little cocky about you belonging to him, relishing the way others do a double take when they see you together. but as this goes on it starts to bother him, and i can see him being so upset at himself for being so unhealthy and possessive, because in his rational mind he knows he trusts you, and you would never cheat on him, but he just can't help feeling upset when strangers get too close and start to hit on u. it's something he can't really explain, but he would definitely be a little more rough with you as he pulls you away, and he would drop the customer service voice and generally light-hearted manner for something far more authoritative and cold, acting like everyone other guy trying to hit on you is beneath him (and to be honest they are). rather than show them you're his, he doesn't feel the need to prove himself to them and would probably remove you from the situation and take his frustration out on you (with your consent ofc). yes he's a performer, but he also knows the importance of leaving room for imagination

however if he's crushing on you, i can see him being soooo insecure and sweet and pouty. he needs attention and love from you, and feeling it slip away would crush him. i feel like he could get a little withdrawn, despairing at the fact that god forbid you are even looking at another man. but he's so cute like this when he's nervous and lost in his thoughts, and when you inevitably pay attention to him again he would actually have hearts shooting out of his eyes and i think that this little emotional journey might actually prompt him to confess

If yang is treated like an awful sister in volume 9 and her paying attention to blake and ignoring ruby is treated as a flaw and was called out for said flaw how you feel about that?

I think in general, I completely agree with the people calling Yang an awful sister in Volume 9. I've heard every defense imaginable for why she was acting the way she was acting in V9, but really, Ruby's growing breakdown and her suffering was obvious. Like Ruby quite literally fainted from her trauma, and went through almost the whole volume in uncharacteristic gloom while showing complete disinterest in trying to get back her once beloved weapon, only having small two second moments of happiness here and there that quickly got crushed, being self-deprecating, hunching in on herself, trying not to fall apart, and then she had a panic attack during the fight with Neo's Jabberwalkers at the Paper Pleaser's village, and.... Yang was doing what? Not noticing.

Giggling and flirting, and smarting off and rolling her eyes, and having a grand old time in her fights, and dismissing it when Ruby did start to talk about her regrets by saying it's like Ironwood. Yeah, Yang shows some minor concern sometimes before Ruby's breakdown, but to me it felt like less concern than one of my coworkers had shown one time that I was sick at work and they had to drive me home. It didn't feel like the care a good older sister would show to a traumatized and clearly struggling beloved younger sister, it felt like the passing obligatory sympathy a stranger would show to another stranger if they found them crying at a bar. Like 'Oh are you okay? Yeah? Okay, if you're sure. I'll get back to my friend group.' And then you just move on and try to have fun for the rest of the night. That's how Yang prior to Ruby's breakdown feels to me.

Then while Ruby's having her breakdown, what does Yang do?

Yang 1. treats Ruby like a threat to Blake and glares at her. 2. does absolutely nothing to console Ruby or protest her words in any way. 3. does absolutely nothing when Jaune starts yelling in her face victim blaming her for things outside of her control and essentially saying she's not allowed to feel bad things or express that she feels bad things while she's standing there crying. 4. Doesn't immediately run after her when she takes off alone in a dangerous chaos world after she just demonstrated that she might not be able to fight, is clearly emotionally compromised, and being actively targeted by Neo who just made it even more clear that she's gunning directly for Ruby. 5. Gets angry like "how could she be kinda mean to me? Why couldn't she talk to me even though I shot her down the one time she expressed negative feelings to me? Ugh she's so impossible, not being one hundred percent okay after the death of her friend and being upset that I'm treating this like a romantic fun getaway while she's spiraling into an obvious breakdown that I didn't notice at all."

And then when Ruby ascends, Yang is like beaming away hugging Jaune like five minutes later? And when she sees Ruby in the tree, she's at least somewhat affected - although still much less than I'd want her to be, like compare Yang seeing Ruby in the tree to when the Doctor in Doctor Who thought he lost Rose for the first time, or Jack Harkness when Rose "dies" in front of him (since they didn't even know each other that long,) or Martha the first time Jack "dies" in front of her despite the fact that it was the first time she'd seen him, or Rose the first time Jack "dies" in front of her, or Amy and the Doctor the first time Rory "dies" in front of them, or Amy and the Doctor the second time Rory "dies" in front of them- You get the point. Yang is supposed to be Ruby's sister, but her reactions go between limited and not nearly emotional enough to near non-existent, and we're supposed to buy it as the single most caring and loving older sister that raised Ruby on her own and just loves her oh so much? I don't buy it.

Especially because Yang then completely ignores all the suffering Ruby's been through and how Ruby explicitly said she didn't want to be treated like a perfect girl with all the answers and didn't want to be the leader anymore, and was like "oh yeah Ruby is our perfect leader who never doubts herself and never shows weakness and has never been confused a day in her life." How am I supposed to think of Yang as a caring older sister when she completely ignores Ruby and disregards what she says and what she needs, in order to over-rely on her? Volume 9 made Yang look like a terrible sister tbh.

I will clarify: The problem isn't 'Yang gives Blake attention,' it's that the writers can't seem to write both 'Yang gives Blake attention, cares about her, and loves her as a romantic partner' and 'Yang gives Ruby attention, cares about her, and loves her as a sister.' They tend to push Ruby and Yang's relationship to the back and focus on Blake and Yang's relationship when they could and should be focusing on both sets of dynamics. Because of how much Ruby's relationship with Yang is shoved to the side and Blake and Yang's is emphasized, it does make it feel like Yang cares much more about Blake than she does about Ruby - coupled with things like Yang protectively stepping in front of Blake when Ruby is upset or even earlier, her pulling Blake out of the house with apathy in V6 while Ruby was still in the building and Qrow was passed out drunk on the counter. But the problem isn't 'Yang is written to care about Blake' it's that it feels like the writers only write her to care about Blake and don't care about her other dynamics, which makes it feel like she doesn't really care about Ruby that much at all.

It's very sad, because one of the reasons I originally loved Yang was that I connected with her as an older sister. I love my younger sister very much, I would do anything for her, I want to protect her, but I also think of her as very strong and able to protect herself, similar to how Yang acted in the first five seasons. Yang was one of my absolute favorite characters in RWBY - if not my number one favorite - partially because of how good it felt to see a sibling relationship where they loved and cared about each other and prioritized each other. Now I'm really struggling to like Yang's character at all, and a big reason for that is that it no longer feels like she really cares that much about Ruby. So yeah. XD

TL;DR: I actually completely agree with the people saying Yang is being a bad sister, and her ignoring Ruby is totally a flaw that I'd call out.

would u b willing to share a crumb of advice on how to pick colors? your coloring style is so efficiently simple and beautiful. how do u do it

ill be honest in saying I really dont know tbh, cause generally the way I go about art is that I just brute force through shit until it works/looks right for me lmao. However! Generally I recommend just kinda trusting the process, and by process I mean "Have a very clear idea of what you're trying to do and have as many reference material/resources at the ready." Shit like color palette prompts, mood boards, "aesthetic" images related to the look you're tryna go far, that kind of thing. Most of the color schemes I use in my pieces are directly tied to the aesthetic of the overall image I'm trying to make, which usually falls under Y2K/Neo Futurism/Scene/Industrial Goth/Horror In General yadda yadda I think you get it lmao

Like, sometimes, if it's something that's a bit out of my element, it takes me FARRR longer to figure out the color scheme of something. For example, that Gyaru-esque Ettie piece I just did! I was struggling really bad with the colors/patterns/overall color aesthetic in order to achieve something that could be considered Gyaru, however everything I was trying just kept looking like it was clashing too much for my personal taste. Which, like, is more just a symptom of me not liking having a million different colors in a single palette (I tend to try to stick to just 4, maybe 5 or 6 different colors at maximum) and Gyaru fashion tends to be explosively colorful and overly detailed by design. Anyway, this caused me to spend like, almost 7 hours just coloring the Ettie piece because I kept just redoing all the colors over and over again, and only stopped when I finally thought I had something that looked fine. I was looking at A LOT of reference photos I'd saved of various Women in different Gyaru styles, and I just experimented with what colors I was seeing in the photos. I think there is a whole like almost 5 minutes of the Ettie speedpaint that's solely dedicated to me just struggling on the color palette lmfao

He understands why you could feel unhappy when you fail at something. Though he might not be the best at comforting, he'll at least try to assure you that you're more than your failures.

Hi i'm Roach but on here you can call me Leon or Ducks. i'm cool with all pronouns, but i have a preference for masc, gender neutral, and neo pronouns.

i'm an artist that dabbles in writing and other things. i'm mainly known (at least i think i am) for being a Sleep Token fan-artist that talks about music a little to much.

i'm goofy and make jokes and i do draw a line to what i will and wont do. i make nsfw headcanons/writing/art sometimes so if your not cool with that you can just make your way out of the metaphorical door. i will not discuss the identities of any of the vessels because thats their personal lives and they have boundaries. i dont know what they look like and i dont want to know. i will also not talk about any crew on the team in any sexual sense or talk about their personal lives.

i constantly interact with @randomfandomsoup and if you are a mutual that is in the jaws of sleep token or just really cool i will interact.. be afraid/j

~ Did a little two years timeskip of my Neo 3 & Smallfry for funsies ~

Sock the Smallfry, shaping up to be a Chum.

Earned the more serious name "Sockeye" (you get a biology sticker if you get the reference) and its own super badass title (they keep modifying it because there's a lot to brag about here), speaks inklish nearly fluently (Zika and 'em taught each other's languages), going through an actual fighter training, welding a modified scooping metal spoon that deals mean damage that Zika found and gifted them.

Grown enough to wear clothes, but dresses mostly "pseudo-grunge", aka "still got no style that truly fits me so I'll be a fashion disaster until I do''. Has a long scar a bit below its neck from ''whatever the hell went down with that whole agent thing''. Matching kinship bracelets with Zika, that he wears on its tail.

Still kinda just hanging around like he's hot stuff. Zika keeps telling them to please get a job. Vaguely considering ambassador career or perhaps Salmonese teaching, but won't do anything about it because he thinks he's a natural and don't need any formation. That's a dangerous mentality to have, Sockeye. Zika could tell you about it, Sockeye.

Zika, aka Neo 3, aka Agent 5 (they insisted).

Still working as an archeologist specialized in human culture, though after Alterna, they seriously lost their spark about it. In fact, after the whole thing they got into a deep depression and never truly recovered, still goes into dissociative episodes, random outbursts, slight nihilism, and often cries themselves to sleep. (Also they got serious PTSD and miiight have ursaphobia now.) Sockeye helped them a lot through that, and still does ; although Zika now no longer cares about telling Humanity's History and would actually rather hide it all from the public. They're very bitter about it. They now focuses on just restorating human media, human ethnicities, and disposal of human remains. They don't like to talk about that, and actually now focuses most of their agent work on getting rid of potentially harmful human stuff. The NSS doesn't have the context of the Alterna logs (5 hides that from them at all costs), so they don't really understand. Although Cap is a willing ear.

Other than that, they are getting decent at Salmonese (issues with understanding though); they manage their restoration enterprise more part-time ; they returned to school to follow anthropology classes and study the various ethnicities of ✨Today✨, especially regarding Salmonids ; got around to travel a lot more (sometimes alone, often with Sockeye and sometimes with the NSS), and keeps a very cautious eye on Grizzco, as they highly suspect their newly acquired nemesis to pull out a Plan C. (Still works here though. Yeah, they're aware.)

Oddest thing though is, after witnessing Agent 5's and Sock's relationship and prowesses, Shiver & Frye got into their minds that Zika simply *must* become "Salmon Tamer". They're going on and on about legacy, ancestral practices and binding rituals and just wouldn't drop it. Zika is pretty reticent to the whole thing, because they find it wildly disrespectful towards the Salmonids as an ethnicity, but eventually caved under the nagging and reluctantly agreed to the training and the outfit and mask crafting. This is relatively recent and they're feeling worse about it than working at Grizzco still. Big Man personally advises against it, the NSS thinks it's super fresh, and Sockeye is... Split.

This recent change might shake Sockeye into finally taking some action upon the whole Envoy of the Salmon Kind idea, actually.
