10 Mando fic ideas

(based off lines from Bo Burnham's Inside)

 1.       Should I be joking at a time like this? - Gallows humour from Din as he fights the Covert/Bo whoever. I don’t know just hit me up with dad jokes while in mortal peril.

2.       Went out to look for a reason to hide again – Luke visits Din, with the intent of remembering why the Jedi should remain a part of, but separate from, society (and fails).

3.       a frightening, liminal space between states of being – Boba in the Sarlaac, or when his dad died, or when the Tusken’s died. Basically Sad Man Boba (the second best after a latte).

4.       Your little girl didn’t do too bad – Leia, just Leia.

5.       And I'm really fucking sorry – Din is made to publicly address the Senate and apologise for his past as he ascends the throne, it sounds as genuine as a YT Booty Guru Apology.

6.       It was always the plan, To put the world in your hand – the hushed calls as the gang realise how politics are shifting, and things are lining up for the sequels.

7.       Twenty-thousand years of this, seven more to go – Luke and Din talk pre-ahch-to, post demise of Jedi School 2.0. Maybe Grogu’s gone, maybe he’s not, either way, it ain’t a happy time.

8.       Well, well, look who’s inside again – the lingering emptiness of there being no Force Ghosts to answer questions or pass judgment. The old have finally moved on, the young never even had the chance to stay.

9.       You say the whole world's ending, honey, it already did – Din, post-ahch-to. Maybe his whole clan’s gone. Maybe we all just need to check our tear ducts work.

10.   Like, when I'm asleep I feel alright – Grogu, on the razor crest, realising what he’s feeling is safe for the first time since Order 66.

Luke, Leia, Han and Chewie: We definitely adopted Din.

Meanwhile-

Din rubbing medicine on Luke’s scars when he’s to sore to do it himself.

Din helping Chewie dematt his fur, because it get severely tangled every time it’s windy.

Din unbraiding Leia’s hair when she’s about to pass out on the couch, so she doesn’t get a headache.

Din bargaining to get Han back, after he got himself in trouble with some bounty hunter.

me, just about asleep:

my brain: hey. what if-

me: no.

my brain: what if when ben killed luke's students-

me, softly with feeling: no.

my brain: -he also killed grogu-

me: stop, please

my brain: and din gave his life protecting the kids as well. and thats why luke goes into exile because he's in immense amounts of grief and pain, because he lost his child and husband as well as all his students.

me: why??? why are you doing this to me?

my brain: because i'm your brain, and life is a fucking nightmare :)

Head in the clouds, 1/4

“Errr, are you sure he looks enough like me?” Luke whispers.

“Don’t you worry about that”, Lando says with a wide smile. “It’s up to the hair and make-up team to take care of. Your heights match more or less, and that’s enough.”

“But what about…?” Luke lifts his hands against the sides of his skinny shoulders and moves them wider out to imply what in Din’s body is out of proportion in comparison to him.

It only makes Lando laugh heartfully. “Trust me, kid, by the time you’re ready with your training for this role, you’ll be equally bulked up.”

Luke cannot come up with any more arguments against Din, so he has to stop arguing. Because he is definitely not going to say aloud his most important concern: he does not want his stunt double to look this attractive.

This is Luke's first film on this scale. This could become the breakthrough for his career. He absolutely needs to be fully focused on the set, not distracted by a hot stunt guy.

One idea I love is that, it’s hands on sight for Din and Han because they have some sort of past. Like they’re fine if they’ve been in the same room for a while, but the second one leaves and comes back, that’s it.

On the other hand of that, Grogu would definitely want to protect his father’s honor. So anytime he saw Han, he’d stare at him with the creepiest beady eyes. Just dead on. “Like try it bitch. I dare you.” No one believes Han though, because that’s a whole child.

Han knows his days are numbered though.
