Cat-Dad AU 4
Part 4!!!
Years go by. The boys grow up pretty happy. They become older cousins when Nora has Inky and Winky, and a few years later Oswald and Ortensia announce that they’re going to be parents. Everyone would be thrilled for them, and also blown away over how they have 420 baby bunnies. Safe to say Felix returns the favor of the two of them babysitting so often by helping them raise the bunnies with the boys.
Bendy and Boris get dubbed Big Brothers by the bunny kids, and they absolutely love all of them with all their hearts. They even know all the bunny kids by name and can tell them apart with how much they and Felix spend time with them.
As they grew up Bendy and Boris also went on a few adventures with Felix. Albeit the safer ones, because Felix isn’t about to take them on a trip he knows will leave them traumatized. This results in Bendy and Boris growing up learning a lot of different languages, and even having some friends they write to when they’re home.
Things go pretty okay for a while, but then they get, complicated, when Bendy’s roughly 16.
Ortensia gets sick. She tries to hide it from the kids to avoid scaring them, but Bendy at one point was spending time with her when she had a rather painful looking coughing fit and coughed out a black substance into her handkerchief, which alarmed Bendy quite a bit as he called out for Oswald and his Dad for help.
The circus crew make plans to leave and look into finding a cure for Ortensia when doctors have no idea how to help. Before leaving, Ortensia pulls Felix aside to talk to him privately. “You’re an amazing friend Felix, you’ve done so much for my family, and we grew to love you and your family as well. Oswald and I care so much about you… and I know how much you’ve held back for us because you care for us as well.”
Felix’s stomach drops, knowing what Ortensia is implying. He’d try apologizing to her but she stops him. “I don’t blame you Felix, Oswald is an amazing man. What matters is that you value our friendship and happiness more than your own feelings… Which is why I need you to promise me, that you make sure Oswald is as happy as he can be, and to watch over our family for me if things don’t go as we hope.”
Speechless as he processes what Ortensia is asking of him, Felix can’t help himself as he pulls Ortensia into a tight hug. “I promise, as long as you promise to do your best to come back to us.”
As they all bid each other goodbye, Boris asks Ortensia if she’ll be okay. The cat woman simply gives both Boris and Bendy forehead kisses and hugs both of them, saying that everything will be okay. Bendy notices she didn’t specifically say SHE’LL be okay, but doesn’t comment on it for Boris’ sake as the two hug their mother figure goodbye.
During the time the Circus crew are gone, Wilson leaves for work. Promising the boys and Felix he’d call often to tell them about what he’s been up to and catch up with all of them.
Bendy and Boris at the time fall into a bit of a routine. While their dad works, Bendy and Boris finish their home school work for the day, hang out around town or at the college (due to Wilson working there Bendy and Boris get special access, or sometimes work odd jobs helping other teachers there) and then go home to help Felix prepare dinner then spend family time together before bed. Though a certain girl shakes up that routine.
Holly May learns about Bendy and Boris coming to the college she’s attending to either work or spend time at the library, and knows all too well how they’re the sons of one of her favorite authors. So, one day, she tries to introduce herself to them in hopes of sparking a friendship.
It works, sorta. She was a bit overly bold with her introduction and caught Bendy and Boris so by surprise that she startled the two of them quite a bit, made them bump into the bookshelf they were checking out, and Bendy had to scramble to stop the bookshelves from toppling over like dominos. Still resulted in books falling all over the floor when Bendy caught the tipping shelf, and the librarian kicking them out. Safe to say Bendy didn’t like Holly at first thinking she was just trying to get something out of them because their dad is famous, though thankfully Boris would be more willing to accept her apology for the situation and ask her if she wants to come with them to get lunch.
They all over time become close enough where Holly gets invited to their house for dinner and meets Felix in person, Felix thinks Holly is a very sweet girl and is glad his boys made friends with her. Though he finds himself parenting her a bit when he sometimes supervises her and his boys studying and testing runes, patching her up when those tests get unexpectedly dangerous, and occasionally dropping off a bagged lunch for her when he swings by the college because he knows he would have forgotten to eat if he didn’t have baby/toddler Bendy around who would make it loud and clear that it was time to eat.
Her coming over for dinner would start becoming a regular thing, So Holly would be there when Bendy opens the door and sees his Dad on the phone. He’d be ready to greet him, until he gets a good look at his dad’s face.
Horror, and grief as tears stain the fur on Felix’s face.
When he notices the boys and Holly staring at him in concern, Felix quickly tells the person over the phone that he has to go, and wishes them a safe trip home before hanging up and turning to his kids.
With a heavy heart, he tells Bendy and Boris Mickey and the others are coming back, and that Ortensia is gone.
Boris would be devastated. Crying his heart out as Felix holds him tightly and tries to comfort his youngest son. Bendy would look like he’s in shock, trying his best to comfort Boris as well, while Holly keeps a hand firmly placed on his shoulder and rubs Boris’ back as he cries. Clearly no one would be in the mood to cook that night, so Holly offers to go pick up some dinner while the boys stay with their dad. Bendy insists on going with her since it’s getting dark out. Though worried about his oldest son, Felix lets him go and tells the two of them to be careful and hurry back.
The walk would be tense, and quiet. Holly would be trying to think of what to say, but she didn’t know Ortensia like the boys and Felix did. She’d keep trying to think of what she would have wanted to hear when her father passed, but before she can think of anything, seemingly out of nowhere, with his eyes glowing red, Bendy straight up punches a brick wall hard enough to leave a mark, and to cut up/bruise his fist on the rough material.
Holly would clearly see the tears wanting to spill from Bendy’s eyes, so instead of saying something, Holly stays quiet as she pulls Bendy into a tight hug. It doesn’t take long for her to feel her shirt getting wet with tears as Bendy trembles and hugs her back while muttering swear words through his muffled sobs.
When they get back with the food Felix doesn’t seem all that surprised to see Bendy’s bloody fist wrapped up in a handkerchief, instead he asks Holly to stay with Boris as he takes Bendy to the bathroom to wrap up his wound properly, and to comfort him in private.
And on that oh so happy note that totally didn’t make me cry while writing it, it’s time for the funfacts!
-One of the people Bendy and Boris are penpals with is a nice girl in china named Mulan. She and her family let them and their Dad stay at their home during their time in their country. She taught them how to play games she grew up with, how to make some of her favorite foods, taught them things about her culture, etc. The three of them had fun together and stayed in touch for many years.
-The reason the boys are homeschooled is because attending school didn’t really go well for Bendy. When he was younger Felix showed up because he forgot Bendy’s lunch at home, but found his son sitting in the corner during class reading while all the other kids were together. When he asked Bendy why he was sitting alone, Bendy responded “My Teacher says I’m not allowed to talk to the other kids.” Took every bit of willpower in Felix to put on a smile for Bendy to tell him to wait right there as he went to talk to the teacher and principal. Bendy isn’t at all phased as he hears a lot of commotion from his Dad’s “talk” in the hallway (he’s dealt with louder and crazier stuff thanks to growing up around a few zany family members). So instead of putting Bendy through that again, Felix decides to homeschool his sons. Frankly they learn more due to growing up around a college anyways.
-Holly appreciates Felix looking out for her. Heck he even reminds her of her own dad, which at one point she’d tell him that. Felix in return smiles and tells her that he bets her father would be really proud of the woman she’s becoming. That results in Holly tearing up and hugging Felix tightly as Felix hugs her back.
-Bendy and Boris’ outfits would be a bit different in this AU. Not sure how different yet, but I do imagine Boris wearing a bandana that Ortenisa made out of an old scarf she doesn’t wear anymore, and Bendy having a vest that used to be an old jacket of his Dad’s. It was made into a vest due to one of Felix’s adventures resulting in one or both of the sleeves getting ripped off.
-After Ortensia passed Bendy made pins that looked like her favorite flower in her memory. Boris wears his on the bandana Ortensia made for him, Felix keeps his safely inside Magic Bag so he doesn’t lose it due to his adventures, and Bendy wears his on the inside of his vest. Staring at it sometimes when he thinks about her.

[DA+KH] Her Rite
Summary: Based on @chibi-mushroom‘s Dragon Age AU for the Kingdom Hearts series, because we are absolutely winging the role for a certain OC of mine until certain events actually play out. ^^; Spoilers for chapter 7 of Dragon Age: Wayfinder, btw, technically. But if you already known the story of Origins, then it should be a dull surprise. xD
Rating: K+
Word Count: 1,258

Hungry. I feel hungry. So, so many of us are hungry. We do not know what we hunger for. We only listen to the commands of Urthemiel. Sometimes we look for the light of Kingdom Hearts. But we are still hungry, we still search, and listen, and look- we can not be sated.
We gathered to a place of many lights as Urthemiel told us to. We ate the lights, but we are still hungry. I gathered with my brothers to form one entity- a storm of hunger and darkness to eat more and more of those little lights that faded so easily. There was a light covered in a golden armor, a brave but foolish warrior. We consumed his light. We were still hungry.
Then we could sense three of our kind, but they held a light. Our beings do not have lights (maybe we would not be so hungry if we did), so we went to eat the light from the imposters. The oldest of the imposter lights tried to stop our hunger. The light inside of him was strong, we could barely see the darkness etched into the cracks of his armor. There was still darkness though. Not our darkness, but his own. We still overtook him and ate his light.
And for a moment, the hunger was gone. For a moment we felt… sadness, and determination, and lingering thoughts of those we once had but never knew. Would the child know about me?
Then our hunger returned when we saw the last two imposter lights. Darkness surrounded the last warrior, but with him was a mage. A mage with a very strong light. We wanted that mage. We had to consume that mage's light. We must have that mage and her light. It will complete our hunger. Her light will fill us all.
We must
have
that
. . .
The girl catapulted from her dream with a jolt. Her eyes looked around wildly before remotely recognizing where she was. She clenched her chest as tears started to drip down her eyes. Her breathing was shuttered as she tried to regain her sense of being. She was alone. The reason had been obvious before- it was because she had once more ran away from home. But now? Now something was different. It was a different kind of alone. It felt like something inside of her had died.
“You baby.” she mumbled to herself as she dried her eyes. “It was just a dream. Not even real.”
The feeling that someone important had just died did not leave her, however. If anything, berating herself only made her feel worse. When a shiver ran down her spine, the girl decided it was from the cold and worked to make herself a small fire. It was better than thinking it was because of weakness, however natural it would have been in this situation.
Further trying to reroute whatever aftershocks the daydream gave her, the girl tried to look over her map of Thedas with a sharp focus. Based on the old piece of parchment, Halamshiral was the last distinguished city she'd passed, and that was a good five days ago. It was also the last distinguishable city in Orlais too. She had to be in Ferelden by now. What she couldn't quite figure out was if she'd passed the entrance for Orzammar or if she still had another day or two to go. Not that she would actually stop there for a proper rest; no, she planned for that when she reached Redcliffe. By then she'd look enough like a vagrant she could probably pass as a common street urchin. Someone would take pity on her. Maker forbid she could find a motherly type instead of some sleaze that would sell her for a gold piece in exchange for a stiff drink. There were rumors that Redcliffe's arlessa was just the type. The perfect target for now.
The rest of the plan? It was to not be caught by the very people she was running away from; a backstabbing brother, a far too kind cat, and a stupid, old, and even-more-persistent-than-she-was rabbit. She was going to get that stupid bunny's family titles back whether he liked it or not. It's what made going to Redcliffe's arlessa that much more sweeter- she was once Orlesian. She would know what to do. She would be able to recognize a member of the deIsigny family. Had to.
A part of her wanted to be found by someone familiar though, that was why she was traveling along the Imperial Highway. When someone did, they would see that she was resilient. Brave. Not some stupid child that wanted to run away because she was bored with home life. This child had a mission- one that she swore she'd finish before any stupid bandit thought they could rob her blind. Before some stupid nightmare kept her awake at night to the point of nearly going whole days without rest. That last nightmare, the one about that… that man, it was different. It felt real.
But she didn't have time to think about that. She needed to get to Redcliffe. She needed to talk to the arlessa. She needed to prove that she was old enough to do whatever she wanted, and what she wanted was to repay a stupid old rabbit for his kindness. It was almost a fault due to how often bad luck got in her and her brother's way. In her mind, the child did not believe she had a family anymore. No, her old family was gone. Her brother defected to the rabbit like a natural born while she still thought of their birth mother. There was no way that she would consider the rabbit her new father, and the cat her new mother. Not… not until this was done. Not until what was due was properly owned again. It was always eye for an eye, after all- and she wasn't going to let the world get away with taking the whole body again.
Not again.
In hindsight, she should have stolen a horse from that old rabbit. A horse would have made getting as far away as possible much easier. Maybe she could find a wild horse and tame it. It wouldn't be that hard. Give it some food, and space, and it would trust her within an hour or so. Getting the animal to let her ride it would be the harder part- but just having it to carry her few belongings would have meant the world. Assuming it didn't run away while she was sleeping, of course. Just add it to the list of things she planned to sweet talk the arlessa of Redcliffe into giving her.
Reading adventure stories had never been her vice. However, at this moment, a certain element of them was starting to stand out to her. This was like a rite of passage that those storybook heroes tended to take. A baptismal. A journey that only they could complete. She didn't know how long it would take her, but she knew that this was what she wanted to do with all her heart. No brother, rabbit, or some other useless authority figure was going to change her mind about it. Even if she wasn't yet aware of Grey Warden blood that flowed within her, you could almost bet on her success.
Her name was Sabrina Lillian Sidney, and she was going to be a force to be reckoned with one day.

Alice Angel: From Fanny to Forgotten
Hey everyone!
So since a few people seemed to like my little theory regarding Bendy and Oswald’s connection, I’ve decided to tackle a piece of this theory and use it to answer a question: Why was Alice Angel not a popular character?
Now before I move forward, some housekeeping.
1. This will use content from Chapter 3 so spoilers ahead!
2. This is just my thoughts and ideas. I could be completely wrong and I’m OK with that.
Now, Onward!
So in my previous post, I made a mention of Alice Angel being a stand in for Fanny Cottontail from Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. But why? Well like before, we must start with a little history.
Fanny’s first appearance was in “Oh, Teacher” released in 1927. Here are some stills showing her:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Very Minnie Mouse, right?
She returned in “The Mechanical Cow” and “Great Guns” before getting a redesign in her final short, “All Hot”
Tumblr media
Wow! Quite the change! Now Fanny sported visible makeup, a tight-fitting dress, and a much more flirty attitude towards Ozzy!
Now here’s where the story gets interesting: out of 27 Disney-made Oswald cartoons, Miss Fanny only appeared in four of them. Four!
Following her came Sadie the Cat, a much more stable love interest for Oswald. Unlike Fanny here, she became the better known girlfriend, appearing in 8 cartoons and making it into the Epic Mickey series under the new name of Ortensia.
Tumblr media
Again we return to the Minnie Mouse style.
So how does this relate to Alice? Well, these characters might be able to shed some light on why Alice never became popular.
While it might seem obvious that Alice was never meant to be a popular character, take a look at the toy shop. There’s Alice dolls everywhere!
Tumblr media
Here’s one.

Here’s more!
Need a closer look?
Tumblr media
Now, why make dolls of a character you knew was failing? Answer: you don’t.
So clearly, Joey thought Alice would be a hit. Everyone did. What changed?
Well, it might have had to do with the time period.
See in 1934, The Production Code imposed restraints on film regarding topics like profanity, sexual content, and religious respect. This document was what ruined Betty Boop as she had to ditch her flapper image for a more wholesome one which ruined things.
So if these cartoons were being made in the 30s, you bet your ass Bendy and co would come under fire for this. I mean, a devil is the main character and his girlfriend is a fallen angel. Plus, some of the merchandise has implied Bendy and/or Alice have jilted the other at some point.
See here: http://nbendy.tumblr.com/post/163929503973/so-uhm-the-batim-store-actually-has-some
Well, that’s something. But the biggest issue here is that we have no frame of reference for Alice’s personality. The only clue we get is in her song from Chapter 3:
I'm the cutest little angel, sent from above, and I know just how to swing. I got a bright little halo, and I'm filled with love... I'm Alice Angel! I'm the hit of the party, I'm the belle of the ball, I'm the toast of every town. Just one little dance, and I'll warm your heart... I'm Alice Angel! I ain't nobody, I'm a happy dish, and boy, can this girl sing. This gal can grant your every wish... I'm Alice Angel!
Well, that’s...not a lot. We knows she likes to dance, sing, and is confirmed as a fallen angel. But she just seems nice, kinda boring, and it makes her Betty Boop outfit look kinda weird on her.
But! There is something interesting about this song: the voice actress who sang it is not the same person who voices Susie Campbell. So is that Allison’s voice?
Well, time to piece this all together. So how did Alice Angel go from the newest, hottest character to having warehouses of her merch burned? To me, like this:
Henry decides to create a love interest for Bendy and make her the opposite of him: a fallen angel with a Betty Book look and a sassy personality. He decides that she loves Bendy but they have a history of abandoning the other often. They hire Susie Cambell to voice her and all seems well.
Then the cartoon comes under fire for having a demon as a protagonist and the studio has to scrap a lot of material. No religious fools or villains, no language, and they have to ton down Alice. So they keep the design but ditch Susie for Alison and work Alice into just Bendy’s girlfriend with a new angle of star-crossed lovers.
Unfortunately Alice isn’t well recieved and well....we can guess what happens next.
Thanks to the Bendy and Disney wikis for help on this topic and I’ll see everyone next time.
Bye!
