M O R A L S • Morality alignment?: Neutral/Imperial (More specifically, he is self-serving when it's convenient. He has no real judgement on killing-when-told past his teens, often resorting to whether or not he was personally slighted in the ordeal or feels that this particular problem will not serve him additionally in the future. His morals can also be heavily impacted by his settings, as he adopts the mindset of his surroundings in order to better blend in. That is to say - he's willing to make a bloodbath in the Outer Rim but a stellar pacifist when closer to seats of mainstream, "clean" power.) • Sins: lust/greed/gluttony/sloth/pride/envy/wrath   • Virtues: chastity/charity/diligence/humility/kindness/patience/justice 

T H I S - O R - T H A T • Introverted/extrovert. — He highly enjoys being left the fuck alone. (Some days he's closer to an ambivert, but he is never fully an extrovert.)

• Organized/disorganized. — A little bit of both; he believes in organized chaos as an art and a science. It's something he's lived throughout his childhood and finds great comfort in it once he's out on his own.

• Close-minded/open-minded. — Darrash has always been one to consider all sides of a story; most of the time he just doesn't give a shit.

• Calm/anxious. — Call him the "master pretender" - taking into consideration he never wanted to join Intelligence in the first place, the feeling of constant surveillance took a deep root in his psyche. Even after a decade of the Academy and his own victories in the field, he behaves like a prey animal when work is done. But perhaps for the most irony, he's often the most level-headed person in the room when put on a directive.

• Disagreeable/agreeable. — This can purely depend on whether or not he likes you, even day-to-day. As said before - he has always considered all sides of a story, and further the implications of any prevailing end. But he usually doesn't care and will side with whoever gains the most beneficial advantage, usually to his own cause rather than what makes the most sense. Because nothing fucking makes sense in war.

• Cautious/reckless. — Similar to his organized chaos, he believes there can be a certain amount of recklessness that allows the job to get done as effectively as possible. He grew up as a full-time petty thief who, upon joining Intelligence, only relearned how to do what he’d always done, but now on a planetary scale.

• Patient/impatient. — Even though this is not one of his virtues .. he did make the decision to bide his sweet time for over! ten! years! to not only come out of the Academy as their top Agent but also earn their trust, so they'd give him a longer leash to do whatever he wanted. That's committing to the bit if there ever was.

• Outspoken/reserved. — Again - this can depend on who you are or what day it is or how beneficial either option serves for him. He's either silent as a Temple mouse or he's the loudest, most boisterous voice in the room.

• Leader/follower. — This can pivot depending on what the mission is becoming. Darrash has absolutely no problem taking the leading role and spearheading the charge, or he can take orders and fall into line, or he could even be providing the cover fire from a good ways removed. He's learned well, he's done well, he's acted better. Just give him something to do; he hates being idle.

• Empathetic/unempathetic. — Darrash is a deep empath, even if he hadn't been Force Sensitive. As a child he offered himself to the cause of recon, infiltration, and usually the attacker - he figured he was the best suited for it with his small frame and stealth capabilities, and would have rather made things easier for his friends to grab the goods. This carried into his time as a trainee and as a field agent: if he can help, he will.

• Optimistic/pessimistic. — Gotta have something to look forward to when you're the living embodiment of "shit is irreversibly fucked and I'm the magic button".

• Traditional/modern. — He loves his gadgets and gizmos - they're pretty exciting to employ in the field and learning about them can help take his mind off of whatever's bothering him. But he was still taught by self and service to rely on himself first and foremost, to tap into his nature and his knowledge. Anything else can be a crutch or a hindrance, the difference between life, limb, and death.

• Hard-working/lazy. — Again, he decided to spend a decade playing nice just to spend three more years as the Empire's little shadow-stepper. And he not once disappointed (even if he did things his own way) his handlers. The job was done no matter what.

Johkel Conoguy Nealev | Watcher Three Three years older than Darrash, abducted roughly a year or so before Darrash.

Nehesia Kaisyl Amanami | To-be Cipher, Agent Eight-Two Nine years younger than Darrash, born shortly after he was abducted. She never met him, and was never informed of his existence. She was abducted at about four months old.

And he has a shitton of adopted siblings. I'll throw some here:

Twi'lek twins Iatusbace and Iatushuve, who were briefly captured as dancers before escaping Nal Hutta and fleeing as far the fuck away as possible.

The bestest boy who did nothing wrong, Hvotho; retroactively given a proper Chiss name of Wlish'votho'blanor, he was found as an infant by Darr's group. Darr was the main one who looked after him or slept in his cot when it was his time for a sleep shift. He ends up being confiscated by the Hutt equivalent of CPS, subsequently lost in a raid, tossed around by spacers, and then rescued by the Republic militia. He joins up once he's old enough.

Oh boy, Chyvuri and Cromyn Lhilan. They're tabby tiger Togorians; Chyvuri was a few years older than Darrash while Cromyn was a couple years younger, so she often lumped them together as her cub siblings and acted accordingly. Once the band was dispersed, Chyvuri was detained - Cromyn managed to sneak out and return home, only to find that the Sith had razed it to the ground in search of him. Oops. He's Force sensitive. Cromyn was an alright Sith, though extremely possessive. His sister Chyvuri joined up with a privateer crew and found a cute girlfriend.

And last but not least, two of Darr's cohort mates: Teque'evira'zure (or Evira) | Fixer Six-Five Evira stuck her neck out for Darrash a lot, but couldn't even explain why. She was born and raised on Dromund Kaas in the Ascendancy's embassy district of Uiruta, and was sort of her family's "sacrifice" of getting Intelligence to leave them alone. She specializes in technological engineering, which was great considering Darrash was a whiz at unlocking shit both by hand and by the Force.

Sallie Meloros | Undocumented Cipher Sallie is one of three Meloros girls orphaned by an assassination on their parents. The girls were left to fend for themselves, and some poor Imperial citizen took enough pity on baby girl Sallie to bring her home with them. Unfortunately they didn't pity her until she was already 13, so she ended up turning out quickly and was sent to Intelligence because of her apparent sharpshooting skills.

i think the Focal Point of my oc habits is that. there will Always be nuance. there are going to be nooks and crannies and caveats to character stories, there will always be a reason, and not everyone is 100% good or bad or even neutral in perception. this is a complex ecosystem here-

with that being said, i think clone lieutenant miz (ncis-1013, tcw) and imperial agent darrash aron nealev (swtor beloved) would both be taken So Out Of Context w discourse. both of them went through similar traumas: they were both separated from their families and siblings at a very young age w an extremely traumatic event, then treated as prodigies and expected to rise above and beyond without any care for themselves as a sentient being, p much. and they spend a good chunk of their lives in a high-critical fallout trying to salvage whatever pieces possible, with a decent outcome.

but i can already see people like, completely dismissing their arcs of trying to get back to the people they love because “well if they had all that information and access to databases why didn’t they do it sooner? why did it have to happen during/after a critical war?” or overall thinking that they never did enough and purposefully so. which is so fuckign ironic bc this is the exact thought that plagues their minds is that no matter how much they Did do, it was never enough and they can never “make up” for it

so that’s just like. amazing to me JABDNSDNNS um the reason they couldn’t is bc no matter how lengthy their leash was underneath the supervisor, regardless of their incredibly high standing, they were always being watched. and it takes the chaos of all-encompassing and constantly-changing war banging on your front door to get eyes off of them for just long enough.

i can also see people misconstrue a Lot of their intentions for finding their family, bc for a while others would see darrash as being disloyal to the empire (some of his siblings live under the republic) or distrusting of the sith (one became a sith lord, he himself is an imperial agent) and it would be such a shallow insight on why he does what he does, why he is willing to cut the empire to the quick in order to find what he was stolen away from.

miz, on the other hand, he really had no choice and what he does would be to directly undermine not only the kaminoans but many close-kept secrets of the cuy’val dar because he’s gonna lose nyree ( @friedennic ), he’s lost coffee once ( @keys-to-the-stars ), he’s lost his entire batch ( @purgetrooperfox ) and he’s lost so many other souls and he’s so tired of losing people that he is just. exhausted yk?

HI HI i will take this as an excuse to talk about darrash <3

16 - What kinds of people do they have arguments with in their head? For hypothetical arguments, Darrash argues most with the Minister of Intelligence; that's the kind of shit that happens when one of the most elusive administrators personally takes you under his wing to mold you into a superweapon. You learn to argue silently, with no indication of disagreement.

For real arguments, he used to get into it with Watcher X while he was invading Darrash's mind via spinal-implant-done-on-Nar-Shaddaa, though the arguments were never malicious. Most of them were born of "oh my beloved stars can you please stop jumpscaring me and just announce your presence before randomly manifesting in my vicinity as a hallucination???"

22 - What simple activity that most people do / can do scares your character? Darrash doesn't understand the concept of people not having to plan about six different routes before getting within a klick of some location. People just walk into buildings with no plan and just exist? No one's on their toes all the time? People just have a good time and leave??? (lol job hazard)

32 - If they committed one petty crime / misdemeanor, what would it be? Why? This is interesting, considering he had already committed a laundry list of war crimes and sentient-rights violations in the name of the Empire before he turned 20. If he had to pick something simple, he would just go back to his childhood job of looting food crates for his little found family of ragtags and orphans.

BLORBO BLURSDAY THATS SO GOOD

1) Darrash’s deep-seeded and eternal desire for freedom, free will, and complete control of self. He wants nothing more and nothing less than to be untethered to what he does not believe in, and more than likely he will remain a lone wolf until he creates the Alliance with like-minded individuals.

2) Quite unfortunately, that would be my (former) Zygerrian Queen — Anna Wisefront Praragir. She did exactly this; she sent herself into exile after sending a call for help, requesting that a Jedi come to Zygerria to collect five Force-sensitive kits. One of them was her own daughter, still an infant. She went into hiding shortly after sending that message so that the rest of the ✨very complicated✨ royal structure didn’t murder her over it and remained hidden for at least 20, 30 years before she mistakenly exposed herself and was immediately assassinated.

3) Many of them have both! My self-insert “Jedi” Omura has a branching polycule, and considers its siblings to be from its lineage mates (Shatterpoint) and those who trained under Kit Fisto, Dara Idella, and Agen Kolar.

Man when I tell you I think I fell in love with Xi’thari :notlikerift: I would not be lying.
