June 4,2009 - Can’t believe it’s been 10 YEARS since I got here in USA 🇺🇸 and my accent is still there. 😂 But I mean I’m proud and loud of where I came from. In the past 10 years, I have adopted the American ways here, made my own American dream, but never forgotten who I was when I was still in the Philippines🇵🇭. I have learned to share this part of me to people I met as well as I appreciate and respect their culture too. Indeed, I love diversity! Being here is such an eye-opening experience to a lot of things and I am thankful that I can witness these. l am thankful for people who reminds me how much I’ve grown for those past 10years whenever I feel like I’m not making a progress, and ofcourse I never forget to look back to my family and friends in motherland. I feel like every immigrant definitely feels the same way as I am. It sucks leaving a country you grew up with. But thank God that I landed in the rightful place: I met new people who became my new friends and family, they have also helped to shape me for who I am now today. It was difficult in the beginning, but through God’s guidance I’ve made it through it all (and will keep going with God’s grace). Everyday is a blessing and I am being blessed by God to be a blessing to others which is the reason why I always do my best to help other people as well. I am not perfect and everyday is a learning experience. Growing up in the Philippines have taught me to keep my culture, values, and faith, and being in USA have helped me to grow stronger, become more independent, and work hard to reach my dreams. Anyways, if you made it here. Wow thanks for reading a part of me. I just feel like reflecting cause zamn.. It’s been 10YEARS and I still say I’M FOB! Hahaha!
