I noticed something while watching S9 EP2 of SPN

Now I could just be overthinking this with my big autistic brain but I noticed something about Abaddon in the episode, it's small and was probably looked over by a lot of people but I thought it interesting. So we all know about Sammy and his powers, right? Yeah, demon blood, Boy King, whole nine yards. BUT. I noticed something about when Abaddon sends the demon possessing that one old lady back to Hell to announce her arrival or whatever. It's practically the exact same to how it looks when Sam did it back in S4. Sure it's a lot smoother and she can do it way easier, but she's a Knight of Hell and that ain't my point. My point is how similar and accurate it was. And like, we KNOW Sam would have got stupidly powerful if he kept doing down the Boy King route, so, it's not too far of a stretch to say some of his abilities were akin to the Knights of Hell, right??

thank you for asking, my lovely little anon. i totally forgot i had mentioned this a while back and being reminded of it has made me go holy shit.... my mind.....

i think it all would have started very shortly after dean died. the entire foundation of sam and rubys relationship at this point has been that sam has reluctantly agreed to be rubys ally for the sake of saving dean. ruby KNOWS how far sam is willing to go for him and is already using that to manipulate sam from the moment they meet. she knows. like she knows knows. maybe just from being around him or from stalking him or from a hearing it from a little birdie whos been in sams head before. but she knows.

I dont know how long the gap between ruby being possessed by lilith and ruby coming back would be, id imagine a few days, giving sam time to grieve dean or at least to accept the fact that hes dead before ruby shows up in a brand new (or all to familiar) body.

i wont pretend to understand how possession works, especially when its happening to a dead character. i dont think the writers knew either so itd be safe to make up my own rules about it. but its deans body. polished and buffed with not a scratch on him.

sams reaction would be similar to the one we see in the show. hed think dean was undead (technically right) and try to kill ruby before she can get a word out.

and ruby would explain it to sam like hes an idiot, like the reason behind her possessing dean is a no brainer. shes keeping deans body warm for when they get him back. otherwise who knows what will get to him first? this isnt possessing someone and controlling their body against their will. this is a favor. and sam will feel stupid and concede that shes right even if hes uncomfortable with the idea.

it starts immediately. sam treating ruby like she really is dean. without even thinking about it sams already agreed to work together with ruby in bringing dean back and theyre running off together without a word into an all too familiar routine - the only difference being that sam sits in the drivers seat now, and even that is back to normal after sam gets injured on the job and ruby drives them both to safety, a hand clutching sams bleeding shoulder and telling him hes gonna be alright and theyre gonna get back and patch him up and he'll be good as new. and its all too achingly familiar that sams holding her hand on top of his wound and letting himself fall asleep, putting trust in her that he would only ever put in dean.

its the same, but its not. ruby for the most part leans into the dean-isms, but jolts sam back to reality sometimes when she lets her eyes linger while sams just out of the shower bent over looking through his duffle for clean clothes, when shes giving him a hungry look that sams only ever seen dean direct at girls in bars that makes sams stomach flutter. when ruby moves in for the kill it takes suprisingly little convincing to get sam okay with the idea. like hes been waiting to just be told that its okay to want it this entire time.

before they know it deans back (despite bringing dean back being against rubys plans) and in his own body (she has to keep her promises) and ruby has plucked the body of a legally dead jane doe to parade around in. and its. different. dean takes sams new affinity for physical contact as a reaction to finally having dean back, that he needs to feel that deans really there to believe it, but its a lot. a lot more than hes used to from sam.

he doesnt know. not for a while. he wouldnt think to suspect it. until eventually the truth comes out and deans fucking pissed that no one thought to tell him a fucking demon was piloting around his body for a few months, but he doesnt understand the level of reaction that sam gives. how guilty sam feels. until the guilt and the touching and ruby acting like sams jealous ex starts coming together in deans mind.

even if dean has feelings for sam or wouldve done the exact same if he was in sams position, i think it would still feel like a violation. sam took something that dean didnt give and for dean to realise that right after coming out of hell by the only person in the world he would trust not to violate him that way? itd be a lot to deal with. he'd push down his panic over it and laugh about it and make fun of sam for it and stop the conversation when sam sees straight through him and tries to have a genuine heart to heart about it because dean cant fucking handle the thought of having to talk about the repeated brutal rape and torture sessions he both endured and enacted in hell, or to console sam over it when he might fucking snap and beat him with a crowbar if he has to see sam acting like a kicked dog when hes the one who raped him.

it'd take a lot for them to work through. it wouldnt be sunshine and rainbows while they kiss and both declare their love for each other. dean doesnt talk about hell but they both know the memories consume him, a newfound violence in the way he kills, the effective coldness in the way he tortures and interrogates. the distance in his eyes when sam tries to talk to him when hes in that mindspace. thered be a lot of acting like they used to, then eventually dean snapping either because hes frustrated with feeling like he has to act like things are normal and that hes okay with what sam did, or frustrated that things do feel normal and that he still feels safe around sam.

they fight. its bad. not in a property damage way but in an emotions way because it all comes out. and then they slowly and gently work through it one step at a time.

Sam in Hell...

imagine.. Sam in Hell, Lucifer ripping his flesh clean off his bones, piece by piece. Sam being awake for everything, feeling the cold blade of a knife cut into his skin, the blood pouring down his strung up body, Lucifer's cold fingers caressing the bloodied muscles before yanking it out. Sam is screaming loud and coarse, until his throat ruptures. His screams echo not just within the walls of the cage but through out Hell. And when Sam screams, it's music to every demon's ears.

Once the Boyking, Azazel's executioner and Lucifer's true vessel, now reduced to a screaming, snivelling mess. There are times when they can hear him call for Dean. The cry anguished and sorrowful but the demon laugh and cackle. The Winchester got what was coming to him. Sometimes they place bets on long he would last. Not that they have anything other than their freedom to bet on. But these days he starts screaming right away. Defiance crushed. They sing praise for Alastair, Hell's most skilled torturer, who died at the hands of Sam, whose torture pales in comparison to his mentor Lucifer. They sing for him, for Lilith, for Ruby, for all fallen demons.

After decades of screaming, there are whispers seeping from the cracks in the walls. The voices of the angels -one fallen, the other righteous- are loud. They talk of Sam's soul that's just as abused as his body is. They say a soul shines brighter than the Sun, but Sam's soul can barely light a candle. It's stretched, ripped, shredded and muddy. Like a dirty, rotten rag cloth. Demons know Hell is Hell even for their kind but at least they are not in Lucifer's cage like Sam. Sam is in a special kind of Hell, one that is personally crafted for him by Lucifer.

Imagine Bella and Ruby being in different Hell factions... Wait.

Ok, John never died, because instead of Azazel wanting the gun and his life for Dean's, John agreed to drink Azazel's blood to save BOTH his boys. But he can't let them see what he will become, so Azazel fakes John's death as part of their deal.

John's first taste of demon blood is from Azazel's mouth when they seal the deal. He may not be the promised boyking, but the blood does awaken something in him. Azazel gives him just enough to feel that rush of power. Lets him hunt monsters and (unbeknownst to John, though if it weren't for the blood addiction he might think about it) enemy faction demons.

And John resents Azazel as much as he needs him, because no other demon's blood measures up. But when Azazel disappears and leaves John craving for days, he finds out Sam was kidnapped for Azazel's boyking battle royale anyway, and of course he shows up at the hell gate "as a ghost" and helps them kill Azazel.

Then John walks into Hell to look for the demon that holds his contract (and someone to bleed for his addiction). He doesn't find out about Sam dying and Dean selling his soul until he's already in Hell.

Time doesn't move fluidly for him down there, but it's not one month = ten years, because most of his time down there is spent hunting and bleeding demons, not being tortured in a time loop.

At some point, he's approached by Bela -- who took up demon status quickly down there and girlbossed her way into Crowley's circle (they're both double crossing each other, but they're also both against Lilith's faction). Bela tells John Lilith has his and Dean's contracts, and helps him get topside via Crossroads.

Bela's blood is the best he's had since Azazel.

Kind of wanting an AU where Sam goes missing (either from Stanford or they never find him during AHBL or something) and around what would be the season 4 era and shit's getting real, Dean is on the trail of this Big Bad Demon that's a General or the Antichrist or some shit, and when he finds him, of course it's Sam

Bonus points if Sam is a reluctant or semi-unwilling boyking here (I'm not into the over-the-top ooc boyking Sam takes) or -- even better -- if he's actually been working against the demon army on his own (with a few demonic allies...) and is himself trying to take down Lilith (in his own special demon blood way) but he Can't Be Trusted because he has black eyes and smells faintly of sulfur

God I agree with the previous anon that the fic you did "Sammy was a chubby 12 year old" is incredible and while I understand you not wanting to get more into it especially the sexual part since they were young I will say it makes me think of how recently someone I follow was both posting and reblogging a bunch of boyking!Sam stuff (Some was boyking!Sam x Demon!Dean) and just that also seems great with weight gain (This is not me requesting by the way as I'm pretty sure you aren't taking them right now it's just that ask you got and the fic it's about made me think of stuff, I hope you don't mind me coming to you with it)

This is a kink ask, so I'm gonna pass on all the obvious non-kink reasons I adore the trope. There's just so much possibility to it.

You've got Sam himself. You all know by now (probably) that I love me some spoiled brats. Drunk on power and demon blood, the new ruler of Hell has been seriously overindulging, just because he can. Maybe his childhood sweet tooth's been reactivated. I imagine him lounging on the throne of Hell, belly swollen and gurgling from him glutting himself on blood and sugar equally, imperiously demanding more and more and more from infernal attendants...and completely oblivious to how fast he's plumping up. Using psychic powers doesn't burn a ton of calories. Imagine one of those he's demanding food from - maybe even the main one - being Dean.

Speaking of infernal attendants, even if Sam's not a brat (to begin with), maybe Hell's just a little too eager to please and care for its new, long-prophesied ruler. Or maybe a bigger king means more power, or various demons and factions are desperate to curry favor with Sam...or all of the above. It all leads to the same place: an increasingly-chubby Sam slumped in the throne, in a glutted stupor, at least one demon rubbing his groaning belly while another hand-feeds him, pampered constantly and attentively whether he wants it or not. Again: any of these attendants could be Dean.

Then you've got feeding as control. I am a weak-kneed sucker for any storyline that involves that. Human!Dean keeping his half-feral, yellow-eyed younger brother locked into a constant calorie overload, too full and too focused on the discomfort in his overfed stomach to use any kind of psychic power...and then eventually too fat for it. Another demon, most likely Crowley, feeding Sam into docile uselessness to become the power behind the throne. Demon!Dean fattening boyking!Sam until he's pretty much just a pet - and delighting in the fact a mere Knight now has this much power over the born-and-bred king of Hell.

Reverse that: King!Sam fattening human or demon!Dean so that he won't be a problem. Or just because that's what he wants to do; he's king of fucking Hell now, and if he wants to indulge his weird kinks, who on earth is gonna stop him? Or the fattening happens accidentally. He just wants to make Dean happy, gives him whatever he wants...and turns out that's an insane amount of food. Turns out Sam likes him like this.

Just gonna leave everyone with one final image: Sam, in all his boyking glory, horns and yellow eyes, maybe wings, using the stomach of a massively, impossibly fat Dean as his throne as he rules over Hell.

Maybe for the Paimon!Dean thing Sam didn’t really understand the whole curse and just thought Dean would get possessed for a little like regular demons cause he wasn’t really good at understanding the spell book he got the curse from at the time only to end up for Dean having to share a body with Paimon and have some sort of power struggle over the body and having to basically wear the rosary as a result of Paimon not letting him have control when he wants. I don’t think Sam would come clean immediately about it more like tries to keep it hidden that he accidentally cursed Dean until like what season, 4 or 5 or something

I'm probably overthinking (I still haven’t looked up the reference) but why would Sam risk something like that, at age 11 on top of that? He must understand, even then already, that inviting in demons is not the way to get out of the life. I can imagine that he might be idealistic and hope for a force of good helping - let's say an angel or a seemingly benevolent entity like a zanna.

If something evil or at least sinister is inhabiting Dean, that would definitely be hard to suppress or hide in their line of work. If the demon is "trapped" inside of Dean then Dean would be subjected to the same issues a demon would be - just imagine Dean not able to cross a salt line! :O

The idea of Sam accidentally cursing Dean and keeping it hidden, in general, is interesting though! I can see that happening, just maybe not with an actual demon possessing Dean? I can also imagine a demon deal because I'm sure some demons of Azazel's gang or others might be willing to deal with the future boyking.
