here you have some headcanons no one asked for
imagine being one of Queen members' daughter, how's your relationship with your father, with the rest of the family. and then, when you start hanging around the set of Bohemian Rhapsody, who do you fall in love with, why?
Brian May
being Brian's child is definitely one of the best things ever
first of all, you look a lot like him
maybe you don't have his curls, but you have his hair, which is a lot
you also have kind of the same physique
tall, slim
you are the youngest of his children, and, unlike your siblings, you're not Christine's daughter, but Anita's
but that doesn't mean people look at you in a different way, neither your siblings nor your dad
Brian, as any other father, doesn't have a favourite child, but being the youngest, you're still he's little baby
let me tell one thing, he might not show it, but he's an overprotective dad
since you were little, if people made fun of you, he made sure to help you
like that one time he showed up after school with a super fancy car and a killer rockstar outfit that made everyone's head turn, all of this just because someone made you upset
Anita is always trying to keep him from doing too crazy stuff for you and your siblings
not that it works
he loves to spoil his children, especially you, since you're the only one who's still living with them
whenever Anita can't make a big event as his plus one, he's ready to go out and buy you a pretty dress, so that you can accompany him
but, again, he's overprotective
especially when it comes to your love life
in fact, you have to beg him to let you go with him on the set of Bohemian Rhapsody
he says that he's sure you're going to get bored
but your mom tells you the truth
"he's afraid you might fall in love with one of the boys. you know, he doesn't want anyone to break your heart and, well, he's sure an actor would probably do it"
in the end, Anita convinces him to let you go with him
that day you wear something pretty but cool (you have to make an impression)
every one of the boys is kind to you, they ask you about your dad
especially Gwilym, who wants to know everything you have to tell him about your father
and your dad is afraid you might actually fall for him, being him a real gentleman
what your dad doesn't realize is how close you are getting with someone else
since they one, a certain blondie had caught your eyes
and let me tell you, you were the sun around which his thoughts revolved
when he asked you out the first time, you immediately told your mom
"should I tell dad?"
"you probably should, honey. I promise I'll keep him under control for you"
when you told him, he was actually surprised
"I'll have to have a talk with the guy"
"dad, he's a good person"
"I know, but you're still my little girl"
Roger Taylor
okay, so, think of Rogerina. that's exactly what you would look like
you are the the third of his children, born the year your dad and Dominique got married (1988)
when your parents split up, you explicitly asked to stay with your dad, not because you didn't love your mother, you did, but because you and your dad had a special relationship
you saw your dad go through so many things
when Freddie passed away, you were only three, but you still understood, in your own child-like way, the pain he was going through
"but he's still here" you pointed to his chest, still not exactly knowing where the heart is
he could never say it out loud, but you are his favourite child
you supported him every time, no matter what
and he loves to see how close you are with Sarina
it was a relief when you accepted her with no problems at all, unlike your siblings, who were a bit worried about the age difference at first
obviously, you took after him even when it comes to your skills
you're an amazing musician and, you're not the kind to brag about it, but having the Roger Taylor teaching you how to play the drums isn't something that happens everyday
he's protective like he is with every single one of his children, even though you're 30 now
when you first visited him on set with Sarina, he made sure to tell everyone that, if they hurt you or did something bad to you, they would get killed
luckily Sarina fixed everything
oh lord, your dad loves to brag about you
"sunshine, c'mere and show them how good you are!" and with that he hands you a pair of drumsticks
but let me tell you also how much your dad loves to embarrass you in front of people, especially when they are around your age, especially when he feels like you like someone
like that one time when he invited the BoRhap boys over for dinner and made sure to invite you too
"I see you and Joe are getting along pretty well"
"dad, don't worry, he doesn't even look at me.."
"why? you're so beautiful"
"maybe because he's afraid of you"
that night he makes sure you sit next to Joe
and you're grateful for it
but then, when you two are finally talking for real and he's actually flirting with you, your dad interrupts you
"so, Joe, when are you taking my daughter on a date? make sure to treat her well. otherwise, I'll break your legs"
"DAAAAD!" you scream
"ROGER!" Sarina screams
"I'm joking! I know Joe is a good guy, but being a father also means making sure you have the best of the best"
Joe actually asks you out that night, after asking your dad for permission
what you don't know is that your dad told him everything about you, what you like to eat, what's your favourite restaurant, what you like to do on a Friday night out and on a Sunday afternoon in
Joe is actually grateful for the information and plans the best date ever, tailor made for you
John Deacon
you are the fifth out of seven children, three years older than Luke (which means you're born in 1989)
yes, you guessed, you have his hair
so much hair, so voluminous, so soft
you still have to decide whether you love it or hate it
when Freddie passed away, you were too young to understand what was going on, but looking back to it now, you clearly remember not seeing your dad cry once in front of you
he was deeply affected by the loss and when he finally retired from the public scene, you were able to understand why
in a why, you were happy
it meant you were able to have your dad around more
never once he showed a preference towards one of his children
he always tried his best to spend enough time with every single one
he was and still is the best dad ever
he supports his children in everything they do
but when you told him you were interested in Electronics and hoped to get into King's College, just like he did, he couldn't hide the happiness
"I just hope you're doing this because you like it and not to impress me"
"dad, I built my own amplifier because you would let me buy one. do you really think I'm doing this to impress you?"
"you have a point. but, you see, i just want the best for you"
"I know, dad, and I'm thankful for it"
he's protective, but not too protective
he always makes sure everything is good
if you're angry or sad, he can sense it
he just walks into your room, lays on the bed next to you and starts telling you about his day, trying to help you keep your mind away from the thing that's bothering you
even though you're basically an adult, you love to still be able to cuddle next to him and just talk about nothings
when he learns about the Bohemian Rhapsody movie projects, he thinks you're the right person to go and talk with Joe
it was actually your mom's idea, but he thinks it's a good one
they both know you know your dad like the palm of your hand
and Joe is grateful for the help you are giving him by sharing that kind of information with him
you mainly tell him the little things he does when he's nervous or happy or frustrated
you start to spend more and more time on set, growing close to the boys
but one of them, especially, makes your hear flutter
"you're here! Gwil kept asking me when you were going to get here" Joe said
"he asked about me?"
"oh, honey, he does nothing else"
when you finally start dating him, you tell your dad about him
"if he really makes you happy, then I would like to meet him"
they surprisingly get along so well
and you're glad
"John, can I call you John? your daughter is the best person I have ever met in my life. she's a wonderful woman and she has an amazing heart."
"I know"
A/N: i wanted to write about being Freddie and Jim's adopt child but it hurt too much, sorry. and I didn't put neither Rami nor Lucy just because I love those two so much and I want them to be together and every universe possible

A long time coming
Both this episode, and this Discussion about it.
We’ve all been on the internet these last several weeks. We’ve all seen the excessive amounts of promotion for this wedding. We’ve all had to spend half our lives staring at the weird white appliqué on Eddie’s dress that looks like something your mom would have ironed on your Girl Scouts uniform when you were 7. I dreaded the fuck out of this episode y’all. I was so sure it was going to be terrible.
SO WAS IT? 👀 let’s play bingo!
Here’s your warning that this is long af. I do not apologize.
Tumblr media
Erin and Eddie and the Lying Liar
The episode opens in Erin’s office/conference room with Erin wearing an area rug tied around her neck with a bow. Why isn’t “Erin wears a ridiculous rug with a giant neck bow” on the bingo card?
Erin’s glasses on/off as a tic of Concern count: 36
EDDIE’S IN ERIN’S OFFICE. EVERYTHING IS GROSS. LET’S BEGIN.
Erin takes a fairly accusatory tone with Eddie from the beginning.
Eddie gets OfFeNdEd all “you’re taking the word of a complete stranger over mine?”
GOD WRITERS, can you PLEASE write Eddie as a capable, intelligent professional for once in your lives? Real Eddie/Cop Eddie/Normal Person Eddie wouldn’t play the ~personal relationship~ card like that. I mean sure, Danny and Jamie do that shit all the time, and that’s dumb af too. But the way Eddie does it feels less like a family member asking for a Favor and more like a naive scared little girl expecting Special Treatment. Ew.
“I onLy HaVe oNe SiDe: ThE TrUtH” 🙄
Erin saying the witness was “very convincing” is gross. Everything about this scene is grossss gross gross
So apparently, Erin didn’t know/realize during the initial witness interview that Eddie was the officer in question. I wonder how that conversation (with Eddie) would’ve gone if any other cop walked into her office. Like the whole thing felt so unprofessional on both sides, but especially Erin. Wouldn’t she give any other cop the benefit of the doubt? Question them, sure, but not go into the conversation like she assumes they’re lying. Witnesses change their stories all the time. Ugh this whole storyline is gross
Not to mention why is this happening in EDDIE’S WEDDING EPISODE?! Look I don’t need Eddie’s entire life this week to be dedicated to wedding shit. But ew @ a Work Conflict with a future in-law 9 minutes before her damn wedding.
JAMIE AND EDDIE ARE SITTING ON THE FLOOR AT JAMIE’S COFFEE TABLE for the second week in a row. Nice.
THE LIGHTING IS TERRIBLE ON JAMIE REAGAN’S FACE. Mark it.
Jamie is such a dumbass. “I understand you’re upset, I’m just clarifying she didn’t ACTUALLY call you a liar...” shut up lawyer boy, hasn’t anyone taught you that those technicalities are NOT the way to go?
“I don’t think there’s any upside to splitting hairs about this.” WHO’S SPLITTING HAIRS, MR. CLARIFICATION?
“THIS IS GREAT, WE’RE ABOUT TO GET MARRIED AND I’M JUST NOW FINDING OUT YOU’VE GOT A PROBLEM WITH MY SISTER.” I think this is about where @ontherockswithsalt and I literally keeled over laughing. Mark it.
On the one hand I get what Eddie’s saying about Erin being every woman’s basic nightmare. On the other hand Old Eddie was a boss ass bitch who never would’ve been intimidated/shaken/irritated by the conversation in Erin’s office.
What the fuck is this sweater situation? Eddie it looks like you took some scissors to it and the result was tragic.
Tumblr media
Smooth move Jamie. Lol I’m sure most people loved that line “as far as I’m concerned you just described yourself” but 😂😂😂 @ everything.
Jamie and Erin on the courthouse steps. This should be good (read: gross someone get me a puke bucket)
Lol @ this running theme that Frank is nervous af about giving a toast/speech at the damn rehearsal dinner.
Why is Jamie bringing this Eddie thing up to Erin? Eddie vented to him - he’s her fiancé, it’s his sister they’re talking about, of course she’s going to Discuss it with him. But would it ever occur to him that maybe he should just listen and ~support her~ and he doesn’t need to go off and try to Solve Her Problems? 🙄
MAYBE SHE SHOULD FIND A SOFTER LINE OF WORK? Oh fuck me how is that called for, Erin? Eddie’s been a successful cop for years now. She only started having Trouble with her confidence and competence when your idiot dumbass brother fucked her up at a golf course on a Sunday morning.
DON’T BRING ME INTO YOUR FIANCEE’S DRAMAS.... oh my god Erin you started it so like step off.
I LIKE HER JUST FINE. Aren’t the Reagans all about Candor and Honesty? Shouldn’t Erin be having this conversation with Eddie herself if she apparently feels so strongly about it? Dude I’m so mad this is happening in the wedding episode. Or at all.
AND I’LL LIKE HER A HELL OF A LOT MORE WHEN SHE STARTS FIGHTING HER OWN BATTLES ?????? Eddie didn’t ask Jamie to ~fight this battle~ for her and everything is grosssss gross gross.
JAMIE SLEPT ON THE COUCH LAST NIGHT. AYE SOMEONE’S IN THE DOGHOUSE. Also this is about the closest thing we’ve gotten to Actual Confirmation that Jamko lives together/has spent the night together. I’m still convinced he’s never gotten her off in his life though.
Jamie has framed pics of his mom (his Harvard graduation) and Joe on his table. Does he have any pictures of Eddie framed anywhere? 👀🤔
“YoU’Re sTiLL PiSsEd” the Harvard graduate, y’all.
Side note: Jamie’s wearing sweatpants but THE LIGHTING IS TERRIBLE AND THE SWEATPANTS AND SHIRT ARE BOTH DARK COLORED. NO CONTRAST. NOTHING VISIBLE. 0/10 TOTAL WASTE.
Completely on Eddie’s side on this one. Idk about the whole making-Jamie-sleep-on-the-couch thing, but I’d be pissed af too if my fiancé took a private conversation between us as an invitation to go off and ~fight my battles~ without permission and/or without being explicitly asked to do so.
He might be closer to his family than most people are. But Eddie’s about to be his wife (ugh don’t remind me) and she needs to come first now. It’s not his job or his place to take her issues to his family members like that.
“It’s my job to look after you” GOD EW GROSS JAMIE REAGAN. That may be ~true~ but it’s not your job to make decisions for Eddie or treat her like someone who needs to be ~looked after~. It’s your job to treat her as your equal and consult her on (basically everything but especially) matters that directly affect her. It’s your mutual job to look after each other. Just don’t re: this weird paternalistic bullshit mmkay?
There are vegetables all over Jamie’s kitchen. Carrots in one shot, celery and onions and shit in another. RUN, EDDIE. RUN FROM THIS FUTURE OF RABBIT FOOD AND MISERY.
OH MY GOD LOL 4EVER. EDDIE’S IN HER PORSCHE (welcome back bro! Where’ve you been all these years? No, really... where’ve you been?) and she has BINOCULARS like that’s a normal and reasonable thing to do in New York City on a Thursday afternoon.
Anthony’s here? It’s a party!
WITH SNACKS! ANTHONY’S EATING! Mark it.
It’s 4 minutes before her wedding and Eddie’s all “I didn’t know Reagans were Like That!” Oh my god where’s the bingo square for me sinking into ontherockswithsalt’s super soft new couch and dying in misery forever? Mark it.
A SPEECH ABOUT WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A REAGAN? Mark it.
ANTHONY BEING THE ONE TO DELIVER SAID SPEECH? Shocking. Unexpected. Creative. Why is he so important that he gets this job in this episode by the way?
“Open your eyes a little. Know what you’re getting yourself into.”
WHY IS THIS A LINE THAT ANYBODY IS SAYING TO HER 26 SECONDS BEFORE SHE WALKS DOWN THE AISLE? OH MY GOD EVERYTHING WITH THIS RELATIONSHIP IS SO WRONG IT’S UNBELIEVABLE. HOW CAN ANYONE LEGITIMATELY THINK IT’S A GOOD IDEA FOR THEM TO GET MARRIED?!
Oh imagine that, the dummy lied. Eddie didn’t. Who’s surprised?!
Eddie’s back in Erin’s office. She’s wearing a mustard yellow sweater from Kohl’s (I know because I have the same one yo) and a.... prairie skirt? Interesting choice.
“It turns out I owe you an apology..” A REAGAN? APOLOGIZING? OMG
Aaaaand Eddie’s cutting her off. Fucking typical.
EDDIE’S WHOLE THING HERE IS BULLSHIT.
A few scenes ago she (rightfully, more or less) complained that Erin accused her of lying, now she’s all “oh, not really”
She’s bringing Jamie into it, saying she wouldn’t have whined to him if she didn’t secretly want him to go solve her problems for her. UM WHAT? They’re saying she wouldn’t have a conversation with her fiancé just for the sake of the conversation - there has to be a Goal? Dude I just can’t. This is the icing on the cake of Eddie’s shitty writing all damn season.
Humans are allowed to talk about - even COMPLAIN ABOUT - these things to their significant others. They should be able to do so without fear of outside repercussion or concern that their partner will go off and try to Fix Things in an unwarranted way. But if Eddie only brings her Family Problems to Jamie with the secret agenda that he’ll fix them for her, that’s gross and a huge red flag and blah blah blah. RUN EDDIE WHY ARE YOU MARRYING HIM.
Also gross in general @ Eddie apologizing. Eddie shouldn’t have ~taken things personally~ (but Old Eddie wouldn’t have - this is New Eddie and I don’t blame her for her puppetmaster’s bullshit) but Erin is the one really at fault here.
Minute 51 of a one hour episode meant to feature Eddie’s wedding, and she’s just now wrapping up this ridiculous Conflict with her fiancé’s sister. Sweet. ThE BeSt iS YeT tO CoMe
Danny and Baez
SOMEBODY DIES? Mark it.
BAEZ IS TOO GOOD FOR THIS TRASHCAN SHOW? Mark it. Baez pretending to be Erin is hilarious.
Fuck me I’m only 11 minutes into this thing so far.
Baez pretending to be Erin messing with her glasses is GENIUS HOW DID I MISS THAT THE FIRST TIME I WATCHED. 😂😂😍😍
Can we please get a guest actor on this show who can actually produce tears when they’re supposed to be crying? All this dry eye blubbering is gross. They could get better actors from any high school drama department.
“We’re SoULmAtEs” this girl is like that over-attached girlfriend meme omg.
Baez is the best person left on this ridiculous show. Her thing with the palm print security doors? Genius.
Side note: HOW’S THIS DUMB CONTRAST where Erin is on one set repeating over and over that Eddie is Just A Cop when she’s in Erin’s office. Meanwhile Danny’s over here acting like his sister is the only lawyer in all of New York who can get him the warrants/subpoenas he needs for his investigation. 🤔
They’re arresting her. I don’t care about this storyline anymore but I feel like I should mark the time.
We’re in Erin’s office and like.... did Erin forget to put clothes on today or something? What?
WE DON’T GET SHIRTLESS JAMIE FOR THE LAST 39 YEARS, BUT WE GET TO SEE ERIN’S ENTIRE BARE THIGH? WHERE DO I SUBMIT MY COMPLAINT @ THIS BULLSHITTERY
Now Danny suddenly can’t remember how to talk to express his concerns. What is it about Erin’s office that makes all these ~professionals~ turn into blubbery babies who need their mommy to order their happy meal so they don’t have to talk to the cashier themselves?
Another unbelievably clear surveillance video to just clean this messy case right up. How convenient. I’m bored.
The Best Friends Club
Garrett and Sid walking down the hall, arguing the difference between piece and peace. Bros, it’s “object to this marriage or forever hold your peace” which, can I just raise my hand here and say this better be some damn good foreshadowing
Garrett and Sid are rude af marching in (interrupting) while Frank and Baker are in the middle of a conversation, and can I say there’s no Good Way this whole thing could have started?
It’s gross for the boys to get all huffy @ the female member of their team having a discussion with Frank, but if it were one of the boys in there, it would be gross for Baker to get all offended and interrupty and seen as Rude and Irrational or whatever. Can we all just act like adults here? Thx.
Now we’re in Garrett’s office and Baker is going to Explain? Oh boy this’ll be terrible.
They’re pulling rank?! I’m a lieutenant, you’re a detective, you’re a civilian. Actually I’m Commissioner Moore.
Listen dudes, I’m sure your dicks are both huge. Shut the fuck up.
Why are Sid and Garrett throwing a fit like this at all? Frank asked to see the presentation and Baker showed it to him. God this is such a dumb contrived conflict why are we here?
“You know what? I don’t think this has anything to do with chain of command. I think this is bruised egos and stepped-on toes.” SAY IT BAKER. Call these clowns on their bullshit.
I need a margarita. @ontherockswithsalt please.
Garrett is in Frank’s office now, with a weird ass smile on his face as he says “it’s TIME for a VICTORY LAP!” Wtf.
“So you’re saying I have to get Gormley and Baker’s sign off before I can set this in motion?” How’s that for ChAiN oF CoMmAnD, Mr. Biggest Dick In The PC’s Office?
And now Garrett’s leaving through the conference room so he doesn’t have to walk past Baker. These dummies are literally so childish it’s ridiculous.
Now the BFFs club is in front of Frank for a Stern Talking To. Oh my god it’s like a parent dealing with a bunch of 6-year-olds. Remember when this show was actually good?
They’re all going to switch jobs for a day. Frank made a diagram. Clearly put lots of thought into it. A+.
Tumblr media
Garrett’s complaining that it’s a lot to ask. A lot to ask that these dummies act like professional adults? Agreed.
Gormley doesn’t know what the word “quote” means and/or is not familiar with the New.York.Times. Garrett doesn’t know how to answer phones or log into a computer but he does a damn good Gormley impression, apparently. Baker doesn’t know how to read investigative files? Omg are we all learning something today, kiddos?!
Jamie and Frank have a Heart To Heart.
Oh boy, the Best Friends are together again.
“Our behavior this week, it was embarrassing.” YOU THINK?
The BFFs just had a more emotional, moving Heart To Heart than Jamie and Eddie have had in their lives, so that’s chill.
Tumblr media
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
Jamie and Frank have a Heart To Heart
Jamie’s In Frank’s office after a quick chat with Disgruntled Garrett.
Frank’s joke is ridiculous.
JAMIE’S WEARING KHAKIS. Mark it.
“I have never seen you so unwaveringly certain about what you want.” Well unwavering is right. Jamie’s facial expression hasn’t changed since 2017.
Did Frank just compare Jamie’s feelings towards Eddie to his feelings about the Chevelle? Nice, that’s totally reasonable and not at all gross. Just kidding, it’s gross.
“She doesn’t want to lose herself.”
“Well that makes sense.”
“It does?!”
Omg seriously? Fucking seriously. There’s too much to even delve into here like I could write a whole damn essay about this exchange. But Jamie. For real. It surprises you that Eddie doesn’t want to throw herself headfirst into Being A Reagan? It surprises you that she wants to keep her own identity within your marriage? It surprises you that she doesn’t plan to melt herself into your back pocket and hang out there like a fun toy who parrots back all your opinions and dedicates herself to The Reagan Name above all else? Oh. My god. EDDIE RUN.
Well her brother’s dead....
Eddie has a brother? Oh that’s some nice cool chill information to drop on us randomly 6 years later.
I have Thoughts (maybe he committed suicide or accidentally OD’d back when shit hit the fan with Armin?) but I hate how this is a random throwaway line with such important implications. Have they ever truly talked about Eddie’s dead brother? Does Eddie feel minimized in her grief because her brother didn’t Die A Hero like Joe? EDDIE RUN.
“Don’t make her do all the work adjusting to us. Find ways for us to adjust to her” this is excellent and important advice, truly. Would’ve been nice to have this conversation, idk, 9 months ago?
THE MOMENT WE’VE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR
FIRST: THE REHEARSAL DINNER.
Lena’s saying some shit. Cool. Y’all by this point I’m so exhausted @ everything in this shitshow episode, I don’t even care.
“Edit and myself - who have both suffered from my husband’s glaring insufficiency...” oh my god Lena way to read the room.
“THANK YOU FOR LOVING MY DAUGHTER AS MUCH AS I DO.” LOL NEITHER ONE OF THEM SEEMS TO LOVE HER THAT MUCH THOUGH. RUN FOR THE HILLLLLSSSSS EDDIE.
TO JAMM-KO. Oh, my, god, why are we here.
This is some really ridiculous pandering to the fans y’all. Like over the top gross. This show is a just whole ass joke at this point.
But actually LOL @ Erin scolding Danny for telling Sean “would you learn something, numbnuts?”
FRANK’S SPEECH
UGLY FLOOR LAMPS. TWO OF THEM. Mark it. Twice.
Where’s the joke Frank?
“She’s doing the bravest thing I’ve ever seen a cop do... she’s marrying Jamie... and walking down the aisle bY HeRsELf.” 🙄🙄🙄🙄
Can we not commoditize that choice? It shouldn’t need to be a Big Deal.
Eddie is Her Own Woman
And a Lifeforce
But y’all
Lifeforce is a disgusting euphemism for semen, in case you’re unfamiliar with certain Top Quality Fanfics we have available to us in this fandom
So I’m caught somewhere between dying laughing and like, crying forever
Seeing her in action as Jamie’s Life partner
And hopefully as a mother! EW! GROSS! THIS IS NOT THE TIME OR PLACE TO EXPRESS YOUR WISHES FOR SOME NEW GRANDKIDS, FRANCES
That’s a thing that will never not gross me out. Public (or even uninvited private, tbh) expressions of Opinion about someone else’s family planning choices
Y’all this is Eddie’s future father in law telling her “I hope you go have lots of unprotected sex with my son, and potentially shelve your own career goals temporarily or permanently, and go through lots of painful unfortunate Body Changes, because here’s my public request for some more grandkids”
Let it be known if my future in-laws said that at my rehearsal dinner, they’d have a real actual Hurricane to deal with so
MOVING ON THOUGH, UGH. TIME FOR THIS WEDDING.
“SuRe YoU wAnT To gO ThRoUgH wiTh tHiS?!” One, gross, not a funny joke. Two, CAN SOMEONE ASK THAT TO EDDIE A FEW TIMES BECAUSE
“In over two thousand weddings, I’ve only lost three to divorce...” 👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀👀
LOL @ all the waving from the altar to the poor dishonored Reagans who have to sit in the pews like some kind of peasants. Is this my first grader’s spring fling school concert?
Side note: does Eddie have any bridesmaids? No? So she’ll just be up there by herself looking like she’s marrying 4 Reagan men? Nice.
I mean if they pulled some throwaway bridesmaids out of their asses I’d be mad, and if Erin and Nicky were her bridesmaids I’d be mad, so really this is a no-win situation here but still, gross.
Oh hey, we’ve solved the mystery of the missing Frank.
Eddie’s had nightmares about tripping while walking down the aisle. That’s her compelling argument for asking Frank to escort her?
WHICH BY THE WAY I AM SO MAD ABOUT. THIS FUCKING REAGAN AFFAIR SHOW. DIDN’T HE JUST TALK ABOUT HOW THE REAGANS NEED TO JOIN EDDIE’S WORLD TOO, NOT JUST SUCK HER INTO THEIRS? OR SOMETHING. I’M IRRITATED.
Here comes the bride. On the organ! Appropriate, to go with the Reagan men’s 1836 morning suit choice. LOL IT’S ALL SO GROSS I CAN’T EVEN DEAL.
Here we go, she’s walking in. We see Jamie’s face. He looks... bored?
Lena crying.
Erin and Nicky looking all happy.
Eddie again. She keeps looking up at Frank and it’s distracting af. Has she looked down the aisle to see her groom even once?
Henry looks 100000 million times more excited than Jamie to be here.
Oh, a nice long shot of Jamie’s weird chin and stoic face. That’s certainly the look of a man who’s about to marry the love of his life.
The LOOK OF LOVE
Tumblr media
FADE TO BLACK
AMAZING. I COULD NOT HAVE SCRIPTED IT BETTER MYSELF. OMG BEST TV WEDDING EVER. THANK YOU, BLUE BLOODS, FOR DOING ONE THING RIGHT FOR ONCE AND PUTTING ME OUT OF MY MISERY.
12/10. Beautiful. Moving. Ridiculous. I’m so impressed and in awe. Such a great episode.
WhO’S ReAdY fOr SeAsOn TeN?! See you in September folks.

Imagine Jamie Checking Up On You
You had been sitting on a park bench in Central Park for almost three hours. You just couldn't move. It's like you were paralyzed, except for your eyes - those kept sending tears that ran down your face.
You're boyfriend, or better saying "ex-boyfriend" , broke up with you this morning. He said something about "not being right for you." and "you deserve so much better." .... but you stopped listening and paying attention after he said he wanted to break up. And you only listened again when he mentioned he was unfaithful to you and that he had kissed someone else and that he had feelings for her.
It hurt a lot. You did know that it's not like you were getting married and having kids but, he was your first love. And to know that your relationship with him ended because he chose someone else... is not that great of a first break up.
You looked at your wrist to check the time and noticed it was almost six o'clock in the afternoon, meaning it was time to go home and have dinner... and call it a day. You wanted to end it as soon as you could. You got up and made your way to the closest subway station, walking down the stairs as fast as you could as you started hearing the buzz of the train approaching. Being the commissioner's daughter, you had the right to have a car always ready for you. But that meant that your driver, who worked for your dad, would know all your whereabouts and who you spent your time with and you didn't want any of that so, you prescinded that right and went home on the subway or on the bus, just like any other normal sixteen year old kid. Although sometimes you asked your siblings if any of them were around the area, so they could take you home. Usually Jamie did it, you were extremely close to him and he always had more free time than Danny and Erin, who were always "caught up in a case" . You didn't blame them though, their job was totally different.
As you got to the platform you saw the train doors opening and ran to try and get inside, which you successfully managed to do. You heard the beep, destined to warn everyone, but specially blind people, that the doors were now about to close. You found a seat and sat down for the whole thirty minute ride, until it was over and you got off, hopping on a bus that took you to Bay Ridge, only having to walk a couple of blocks to get to your house, that you and your dad shared with your grandfather, Henry.
"Hey Y/N, bus got stuck in traffic?"
As much as you loved Pop, you were not in the mood right now, and so you just decided to mumble a "No" and run up the stairs to your bedroom. You could hear him say something behind you but you just ignored it and after you showered and changed into more comfortable clothes, you went back down to have dinner.
* * *
It was Sunday and, two days after what felt like the worst day of your life. That also meant your brothers and your sister were coming over. But every since Friday you had been heartbroken and the last thing you wanted was to sit at the table and have dinner with everyone else while having to talk to them when the one thing you wanted to do is cry, cry and cry. Until the hurt goes away. You also didn't feel very catholic either, so... mass was out of the question for today aswell.
Before your father and granpa left for church, your dad knocked on your door and asked you what was going on and why you weren't getting ready, but you simply told him you felt sick and that you should stay inn for the day.
To your surprise, he didn't come in or ask you for more details, and just left and you sighed of relief when you heard the door shut.
You walked out of the bedroom, in your pijamas and walked down the stairs slowly, tears falling down your cheeks. It seems like crying was all you could do these days. You made some pancakes for youself and took them to the couch with you, eating them while you watched a novel you had in your DVR, and obviously, while crying more and more.
A couple hours later you finished the movie and you checked the time on your phone, you noticed it was only a matter of minutes before everyone started coming in, so, you put the dishes in the dishwasher and walked back up the stairs, shutting yourself inside your bedroom for the rest of the day.
Your predictions were right and only a few minutes after you were in your room, you could see your family parking their cars and walking inside your house.
* meanwhile at family dinner *
"Yeah, right! I knew you would never give me permission to search the guy's apartment!" Danny said, as he fought his sister about the facts of a case they were both working on.
"I am only doing my job." She simply said, as she continued to eat her food.
"Hey guys... have you noticed Y/N isn't here?" Jamie said, as he looked around the table.
"Yeah, she hasn't been feeling well lately." Henry said.
"Really? She hasn't mentioned feeling bad to me." The youngest Reagan boy said, frowning.
"So what? You think just because you're her favorite brother she's gonna tell you everything?" Danny said, mocking Jamie as he noticed how strange he was finding that whole situation.
"That's not it, I just think it's weird she wouldn't tell me, or you, or Erin for that matter." He said, pointing at his siblings as he spoke their name.
You and Jamie had always had a different type of connection. It was almost like you were twins, it was that type of connection. When you were a baby and he was a kid, whenever you woke up in the middle of the night, he did too. That time he faced a death situation for the first time on the job, you hadn't known about it, you couldn't have known, but still when he came home that day you were there. You felt like something was wrong and you were at his place, waiting for him to arrive so you could comfort him. It was that special, the connection you two had.
The rest of the family shrugged it off and justified your absence with the fact that you're just a teenager, acting like one. But that kept bothering Jamie and he excused himself off the table, saying he was full and was going upstairs to get some stuff from his old bedroom to take to his new place.
He did go upstairs, just not to his old bedroom.
You were laying on your bed, scrolling through an album of pictures of you and your ex that you had on your tablet, when you heard a knock on the door. You groaned when you immediately thought it was your dad or your grandfather and coughed to try to fake your supposed sickness, saying that you were resting.
"Those fake coughs can't fool me."
You sighed. It was Jamie. To him, you couldn't lie. But you could avoid the conversation.
He knocked again and you got up, knowing there was no point in lying to him, and opened the door.
"I heard you're sick." He said as he gestured the quoting marks when he said the word "sick".
"I haven't been feeling too well, that's all." You weren't lying, that was for sure.
"Mind telling me why?"
You opened the door a little wider so he could walk inside your bedroom and sat down on your bed, only a couple of seconds before he took a seat next to you.
"No offense but, you look like crap. What's going on?"
"Oh, it's nothing really. Just not feeling good lately."
"Yeah I got that...but why? You must have a reason."
He was pushing you and you knew there wasn't really anything you could do or say to make him quit, so you just gave in and told him what had happened and when you did, you couldn't hold the tears back anymore, and you started crying right there.
"Mike broke up with me." You said in between sobs, before Jamie put his arm around you and pulled you close to him.
"Shh, shh... it's gonna be okay."
"I loved him...I loved him so much."
He held you tighter and used his free arm to gently rub circles on your forearm.
"But... what happened between you two? Why did he broke up?" He asked you, still a bit confused about what you had told him.
You cried harder and harder and held onto him, wrapping your arms around his neck and resting your head on his shoulder, getting his shirt all wet with your tears. As you did so, he caressed your back, trying to comfort you. It broke his heart to see his little sister feeling so hurt. Eventually you loosened your grip and he did so too, allowing you to look at him while you tried to speak and tell him what had actually happened. Although all you could see was a blur, because as soon as it all came back to your memory, your tears came back too.
"He cheated on me." You said quickly, falling into his arms again while sobbing.
When Jamie heard what you said, his heart sunk. That douchebag cheated on his sister?! That jerk?! How could he had done that? How could he hurt her that badly?!
"What?" He whispered. That was literally all he could say. He shocked too.
"He kissed someone else." She whispered back.
When he didn't say anything, because he was still processing that whole thing, she gave him more information.
"He told me. In my face!" She said, now loudly, while backing away
from him to look into your brother's face. "He told me he had kissed someone else and that he was sorry but he had to break up because he had feelings for her." She said now covering her face with her hands while crying more and more.
"Hey, hey... don't be like that." He said as he touched your shoulder. "If he chose someone else over you, that's his loss, not yours. He's the one who's missing out on an amazing girl."
"No it's not, J." You said when you wiped away your tears. "It's my loss. Because I loved him with all my heart and now he's gone. He's with someone else, he's over me but... I can't get over him. Not now, not ever. He is the love of my life." You explained. You weren't crying this time. It felt like you were all dried out and even if you wanted to cry, you couldn't. It felt like you didn't have any water left in your body. Or maybe it was due to the fact that your brother and best friend was now with you and you were finally talking to someone about what broke you so much.
"Y/N, you can't keep crying over him. I am telling you he's stupid if he broke up with you. He does not deserve your tears. Come on, don't let him win, here."
"Then tell me how not to... I thought we were meant to be together forever." You said with your eyes pleading your brother for help, as if he could actually help you.
"I know this is probably gonna hurt now more than it would if you weren't so hurt but... no couple that dates in high school for only what? A year? Is gonna last forever. You're both two young and I get that it hurts now, I know how it hurts. But guess what? The pain isn't gonna last forever."
This time you were the one who wasn't speaking at all, so he decided to continue his speech.
"This was your first love, your first relationship... and your first heartbreak. You should have known those two came with that last one. Damn, I should have known! You're my little sister and this was your first boyfriend, I should have thought this through and think that your first heartbreak was in line and I should have prepared you for it. But I didn't and now you're a mess..."
"It's not your fault, Jamie. You know that, right?"
"Yeah but still. Look, as much as I want to beat the crap out of him right now, I won't-"
"You?" You asked in shock. "That sounds like a very Danny thing to say. Not something you'd do."
"Trust me, I do. But, the point is... I won't because I know you need me right now. More than you need him bleeding so, I won't go anywhere and I'll stay here with you. For as long as it takes, until you start feeling better." He said as he crawled back in bed and got more comfortable, indicating you you had no choice but to get over that Mike person.
"You're the best, you know that?" You said, laughing at his antics.
"And you're the worst." He joked. "Come here." He asked, patting the space of the bed next to where he was laying.
You did what he said, and sat down next to him, waiting for another speech from your big brother.
"Look, it's not gonna be easy. I won't even try and lie to you by saying you're gonna get over him overnight. But time heals everything, and you have so many other important things to worry about in these next years - being a senior, prom, college... He's gonna be a drop in an ocean of things you'll go through. Good and bad. So don't worry."
"Thank you." You said sincerely, looking at him. "You can go home now. I'd love to have you share a room with me like when we shared a tent last time we went camping but... that would cause too many questions from those cops downstairs. And I don't really wanna tell them."
"You got." He got up, kissed your forehead and headed out of your bedroom, turning around as he forgot to tell you something.
"Oh and don't tell Erin either."
"Why?"
"Because she's a woman, and you know what they say."
"What do they say?" You asked, now completely  clueless about what he was talking about.
"You know, that whole "the best way to get over a guy is to get another" talk?"
"Oh my God!" You said as you started laughing at him.
"That's not how it works. Don't do that." He said as he smiled at you before leaving.
Everything was gonna be okay after all. It hurt a lot now, but it's like Jamie said - these were the most important years of your life now, and you'd be a fool if you wasted them crying over a guy who does not deserve you. So you were just gonna do your best to enjoy life.

Shades Of Deceit Episode 6
Tumblr media
Shades Of Deceit Episode 6   THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 18th, 2014. Garki, Abuja. 10:23AM Chika ran his hand on his head in a sweeping movement as he fixed his gaze on the laptop on his desk. The design was proving to be a much more bigger challenge than he had anticipated, his eyes squinting as he tried to fashion out fine details in the work in front of him. Incoming Call – Sylvia He hissed. It was the fifth time she was calling in less than three minutes, obviously to let him know that she had left his office. He had left an instruction with the receptionist barring her from seeing him, after the last time she visited. He smiled as the thought of a ‘restraining order’ seeped into his mind. It sounded like a good idea but definitely not in Nigeria. The police that is supposed to effect the order would actually be the ones to escort the person you are seeking to restrain, to you, maybe even blaring sirens as they come. ‘Stupid people,’ he muttered as he swivelled in his chair, distracted from work by the funny thoughts in his head. Why was he even wasting his thoughts on Sylvia and the police when he had real issues to deal with? His eyes fell on the planner on the table, with the green circle drawn around 26 immediately seizing his attention. It was his birthday but it meant nothing anymore. He had drawn green circles around special days earlier in the year to remind him to spend it with his family, but it just didn’t make any more sense now that there was no family. The saying finally made sense to him; special days are special, because of special people. ‘I miss my boy,’ he said to himself. He would have loved to switch that to ‘I miss my family,’ but he wasn’t so sure about his wife. He missed her, but he just couldn’t bring himself to forgive her now. The sting from the tape still felt fresh. You know you’re such a proud fool, right? The familiar voice that had become his companion since the separation, whispered in his head. What stops you from making that call now? It continued. Like he was on auto-response, Chika reached out for his phone, too drained to argue with the voice like he would normally do. He tapped a button and watched the screen of his phone as it dialled his wife’s number. She was still on his quick dial. He plugged the phone to his ears and soon enough there was that familiar buzzing sound from the other end. He paused as he searched his mind for the right word to say after the ritual of hello. His mouth felt dry as he drummed his fingers on the table with his free left hand. ‘Hello,’ she said, from the other end. Her voice composed and strong. ‘Hello,’ He replied, not sure what his next words would be. The only thing he was sure of at the moment was that he missed his son, and just maybe, his wife. *** Lugbe, Abuja. 11:05AM Priye ran her fingers on his chest, snuggling up to him as she felt his hand wrap her up some more. This was the best part of their meet-up. It usually made her feel like he was hers for real. How she coveted him. ALSO READ: LOVE AND LET GO ‘I’ll miss us,’ she said, her lips vibrating on his chest as she spoke. ‘I’ll miss us so much,’ she repeated. ‘Are you relocating?’ Michael asked, his head propped up against the pillow on the bed. ‘Relocating? No!’ ‘So?’ Michael questioned further, ‘you sound like you’re going somewhere, cos’ I’m not.’ ‘Ben proposed,’ Priye breathed, as she lifted up her hand to display the ring on her finger. ‘What!’ Michael gasped, as he rose up to a sitting position on the bed. ‘When? How? Why?’ He spluttered. ‘On Sunday, I told you we were dating.’ ‘Not formally. And Ben also never spoke to me about it,’ Michael replied with an air of lordship. ‘Besides Ben cannot adequately provide for you.’ ‘Hmmn,’ Priye grunted as she lifted her head from his laps to gaze at him. ‘And he’s a pastor in your ministry?’ She asked defiantly. ‘I know someone who can take care of you,’ Michael continued, ignoring her question. ‘He has come to take permission from me to speak with you, which is the proper way to go about such things. His name is Harrison, he’s a deputy manager at…’ ‘Ben has proposed to me and I said yes,’ Priye cut in, not interested in hearing the full story. ‘Do you love him?’ Michael asked. ‘Atleast I know him and I like him,’ she answered. ‘Besides, what has my loving you all this while fetched me, apart from being a mistress?’ Priye asked, her eyes blazing as she spoke. ‘Mistress?’ ‘Yes Pas-toor,’ Priye replied, with a slur on the ‘Pastor’ to amplify the sarcasm in her voice. Michael’s eyes brightened up as Priye’s words hit him. He made to climb down from the bed, but Priye grabbed him, holding him back. ‘I’m sorry,’ She said, her voice soft and sensuous. Her grip around him tight. ‘I’m not surprised at your attitude. After-all, you have seen the nakedness of a man of God,’ Michael said as he unlocked her arms from around him and climbed down from the bed. Priye held back her chuckle at ‘nakedness of a man of God. ‘I’m very sorry,’ she repeated, her head lowered. Michael’s fingers worked mechanically as he buttoned up his shirt, his eyes wearing an angry stare. He didn’t see Priye’s descent from the bed as she closed him up in her arms from behind. ‘You’re becoming too familiar with the anointing,’ he said, his palms closing up the knots formed by her hand. ‘I’m enjoying the dispensation of grace,’ Priye whispered into his ears, as she teased his ear lobes with her tongue. ‘All the scriptures you know are for seduction.’ Michael teased, as he turned to face her. Priye laughed. ‘I love you,’ she said as Michael closed her up in a bear hug. She didn’t get a response as usual, but it did not matter to her, as him being so close, felt so good that the walls in the room disappeared and she could feel herself sailing in space. He did not need to say anything, if he could just hold her like this in his arms, forever. If words were ever needed to be spoken between them, she would do the talking for both of them. *** FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19th, 2014. Gwarimpa Estate, Abuja. 10:45AM Yewande Johnson heaved a sigh of relief as she hung the last piece of clothing on the line. She was beginning to feel the bite of hunger but she had just one last chore to take care of before settling for breakfast; her sister’s room. Laide always insisted on fixing her room herself, almost always stopping her from arranging the room, but now that she was home alone with Jeremiah, she could go on to sweep the room at-least, as it was almost always very well kept. They were a very neat couple and she adored both husband and wife. She smiled at how her brother in-law being from Benin had influenced her decision to go out on a date with Osas two years ago and with him now being her fiancé and the man with whom she will exchange marital vows come December fifth and sixth, she could truthfully say, she had no regrets about her decision. As the youngest of four girls and the only one yet to be married, she had the privilege of visiting her sisters’ homes and even though they all seemed happy in marriage, the person’s home she would like to replicate was this one, her eldest sisters’ home. Inasmuch as her choice could be mistaken to be solely based on the very special relationship she enjoyed with her eldest sister, to the extent that everyone in the family referred to them as mother and daughter, it was also very highly influenced by Uncle Michael. ALSO READ: Shades Of Deceit Episode 3 Who would not want a husband that is not only God-fearing but also dotes on you when you’re together in public places? Who would not desire a man that possesses so much knowledge and yet shows so much humility? Osas was presently not so far off the mark as he was very expressive about his love for her, but he paled in comparison to her brother in-law, Uncle Michael, who was just on a class of his own. She respected him that much. ‘Aunty Yewande, come and take me on a spelling drill,’ Jeremiah said, as she stepped into his room to check up on him. ‘Not now.’ ‘When?’ The boy asked, tugging at her fingers as he tried to woo her to join him. ‘Jerry boy not now,’ she said, rubbing her hand on his head fondly. ‘Just give me fifteen minutes, I should be through with cleaning up your parents room, then we can do the spelling drill for as long as you want.’ The room was looking very well arranged, with every item seemingly placed in their proper positions and the bed well spread out with no visible crease on the bed-sheet. Yewande sighed. ‘What a couple,’ she said as she scanned the room to find out what she could possibly do to make it look better. She just couldn’t help but wonder who amongst the couple was responsible for making the room look so good. It could have been either of them as Uncle Michael was not a man to shy away from cleaning up the house as she has so often seen him do, while her sister, even while being heavily pregnant still insisted on doing some house chores as she claimed it made her fit and prepared for her due date, calling it delivery day exercise. Her eyes caught the gift bag sitting idly on the ground by the corner of the bed and her curiosity was stirred, forcing her legs to move in the direction of the bag. She had seen Uncle Michael bring it in with him on Saturday, the same day she had arrived from Lagos, but she had not yet had the opportunity to see its contents. The bag was empty, save for a black velvet case and a card. Her instincts went immediately for the case and as she opened it, her eyes lighted up as the glitters from the diamond pieced jewellery, twinkled at her. ‘Wow,’ she gasped. ‘This is beautiful.’ Her hands quickly reached out for the card, wanting to see the beautiful words scripted down in it as she made to recreate the emotions and the atmosphere in which the presentation was made. She salivated as she opened the card, her being trembling with anticipation as she imagined the magical words that her eyes were about to behold, but as she read out the words in the card, the look on her face switched from delight to shock as she blinked in disbelief at what she was seeing. The diamond pieced jewellery suddenly felt cold and the last shred of belief in fairy tales which she had kept with her since she was a young girl, vanished. ‘This is not true,’ she muttered to herself, shaking her head as she read out the words in the card slowly, like someone in a trance. I’m sorry I hit you again. This definitely is the last time. And even though I know I have said that before, I promise to keep my promise this time. I love you booboo. You’re ‘MyGoodThing’. The Road to Us 16
Book 3 - Til The End of Time - Chapter 4 - Dates, Details, & Dresses
Peta woke up the next morning with Maks nestled into her neck and his arms wrapped around her tight. She ran her fingers lightly up and down his arm trying to wake him. She didn't have much luck so she tried to pull out of his grasp.
"No, no, no, no, stay here." He grumbled into her.
"I have to pee." She said laughing.
"Fine, but come back." He said letting her go as he shifted over to her pillow and snuggled into it for the time being. She laughed and headed into the bathroom. She did what she needed and came back. She smiled as she saw him curled up on her pillow. She climbed back in and he immediately settled into her shoulder.
"You're awfully snugly today." She said softly as she found his hand and played with his fingers.
"I like you." He said as if that were reason enough. And it was but still.
"Well I'm glad." She said laughing pressing a kiss to his head.
"Can we stay here today?" He said as he shifted over some and pulled her into him while managing to stay wrapped in her as well.
"I would love too but....."
"No buts!" He said leaning up and kissing her and silencing her at the same time. She left him kiss her for a while before she flipped so she could look at him. "You're still going to leave me huh?"
"I have my lunch date with Sharna, handsome." She said as she leaned forward to kiss him.
"Awww, I guess I can't with hold you from girl-time." He said.
"No, and i have to tell her about how sweet and amazing your proposal was." She teased.
"I can live with that. When do you have to leave?"
"She's picking me up at 11:30. So we have an hour and a half til I need to shower."
"Good, so that means I can do this then." He said shifting over top of her pressing his body lightly into hers as his mouth covered hers. She moaned into him letting him take over and lost herself in him.
************************************************************************************************
Three hours later, Sharna and Peta were sliding into a booth at their favorite cafe. They ordered and got their drinks when finally Sharna decided that she couldn't wait anymore.
"Okay, I need details. Lots of details, what were you wearing, what was he wearing, what were you doing, where were you?" Sharna said bouncing in excitement.
"Whoa, haha, I'll tell you everything but it's not as glamorous as you're hoping but I loved it. Honestly it couldn't have turned out better for me. So apparently Maks asked my dad for his permission first off." She said raising her eyebrows at Sharna.
"Seriously?! That's so sweet! I'll bet your dad gave him a hard time though."
"He did a little bit, I guess they talked a lot as well as Sam but then dad said he had his permission and so did Sam. And well then my dad teased and told Maks that he wanted him to do it while we were there. And Maks being Maks wanted to make everyone happy so he did. I mean I think he was ready, he had the ring with him but still. So we were going to dinner with my parents the one night and Maks told Dad that he wanted it to be time. So Dad helped him plan it so after dinner we'd walk through the Botanical Gardens and he'd propose in front of the Pioneer woman statue."
"Wait? That's your favorite statue in there right? P, that's so sweet."
"It was. Until I got sick and we never made it to the statue." She said looking at Sharna.
"Wait! What happened then? You're still engaged though." Sharna said slightly confused.
"Well we started there and we were talking about the statue and how it meant a lot to me. And then suddenly I was vomiting in a trashcan."
"Oh P. I'm sorry." Sharna said reaching across and touching her friends hand.
"Yeah, me too. And at the time I still didn't know what was going on. So we headed back and waited on a bench for my parents. Then we go to get in the car and my mom tries to make sit up front and you know what I'm like when I'm sick."
"Oh geezus, you just wanted Maks didn't you. I'm the same way with Paul. You know that."
"I do, and I did...I think. Whatever you know what I meant. But yeah so I just said I was fine with Maks and she let it go. I think she knew better but she wanted to offer. So I stayed in the back with Maks and ended up falling asleep on him. So he carried me in the house and everything and laid me on the bed. And I had been using his jacket as a coat so he kept it laid on me."
"He does so well with taking care of you." Sharna said giving her nod of approval.
"He really does. Well so he decided he was going to go get ready for bed quick I guess and then change me? I don't know. I woke up though and went to stand up and then knocked the jacket off me. And then the ring box fell out. And I knew. I knew why we were walking to the statue, why we split from my parents. And I felt horrible."
"But that wasn't your fault that you got sick. You didn't make yourself sick."
"I know but he took all this time to plan this out, with my dad! With my dad! He was terrified of my dad when we got there. Terrified Shar. And he took the time to sort this out. And I screwed it all up."
"But you didn't cause it still worked out. You still got engaged."
"Only because he came in the room then to find me holding the box, crying and I asked him to ask me."
"What did he say???" Sharna said with wide eyes.
"He didn't want to at first. He said that he wanted to make it special. And I said the fact that he planned all of this to begin was special enough and that I wanted him to ask me anyways even though we were at the house. And he did. And it was perfect just the way it was."
"I'm so happy for you. Like so happy babe. You deserve this. And with him especially because I really feel like you two were meant to be together. And you've come so far and it's so different this time around." She gushed slightly.
"Thank you. I mean I know we've talked about it time after time and my fears and everything with it. But like we've said, I just feel like this is right. This is who I'm supposed to be with. He makes me feel safe and calm yet full of life and buzzing at the same time. I don't know how to explain it other than he completes me. He makes me feel the way I feel like I should with being in love and having a family and a life together."
"That's all that matters then. If you know it's right then you know it's right." Their food came then and they started in on that for awhile and talking about some random stuff, things Sharna would know about Australia that the others wouldn't that they had done.
"Noooowwwwww....you need to explain to me about this other little surprise and how it came about missy." Sharna said winking at Peta once they had finished up their lunch.
"I believe you are more than well aware of how this happened." Peta teased.
"I know that babe, how'd you find out though!" Sharna giggled.
"Lana."
"Your brothers girlfriend is the one that told you, you were pregnant?" Sharna said looking at her skeptically.
"Yea actually she did. The night of the proposal we thought I just had some stomach bug. I mean I had skipped but I didn't think anything of it with the flight and travel and stress. I was just thinking it was normal. Well that next day was Sunday Brunch and we ate and then announced the engagement. And we were all talking and mom brought out dessert and that did it. I got sicker than ever and bolted. Only to have Lana come after me a few minutes later."
"Wait a second, you got sick and Maks let someone else come after you?"
"That's what I said to Lana. Apparently Maks gave her ten minutes."
"Now that's the Maks I know. He's too protective of you to let someone else come after you when you're sick."
"Yeah, not that I minded Lana but it definitely threw me off for a moment. But so yeah, she comes in and gets me a washcloth and sits with me and then blurts it out. She was like this happened to my sister and she was pregnant. And I just sat there staring at her."
"Well hell I would too."
"I felt bad though, she almost walked out. But I made her sit back down with me while I thought about it and realized she had the potential to be right. Then Maks came and they switched and my head was spinning Shar. Like you don't know."
"I can just imagine. I mean I know you both want this but you hadn't discussed when though right?"
"Exactly. I was terrified of it. Not in a bad way but he just asked me to marry him the night before. Hey now I may be having your child too. Like seriously? So I panicked and tried to push him away and he refused so he told everyone we were going to lay down and met me in the room where it all hit and I sobbed for awhile before I told him."
"What did he do?"
"Held me. And told me whatever it was would be okay cause he was there with me."
"Which probably made you cry harder."
"Exactly. But then I calmed down and finally told him and he was thrilled and excited and just everything that I would hope for. And we talked and decided that we did want it and if we were then it was meant to be our time now. So the next morning we took a test and it was positive."
"And then you came back and went to the doctor?"
"Yeah, we came back and found a doctor we liked. And made an appointment. We figured that we'd just tell everyone everything at the same time once we knew all the details. And that's when we found out our own surprise."
"How are you doing with that?" Sharna asked knowing her best friend pretty well.
"Terrified yet thrilled at the same time if that makes any sense. I just what if I'm not good at this Shar? Or what if something happens?"
"Babe, trust me. First off you're allowed to be scared and terrified. Just don't let it take over all of this for you. I know it's not in the time line you were expecting but you're meant to be a mom. Look at how the little ones at the studio take to you. And your neices and nephews. You're going to be great at this. And for if something happens, well that's the scary part. You just have to trust your doctor and make sure that they are taking care of everything. And if you feel something off let them know. You'll eventually learn what to expect and what not to expect. And I won't understand it all or now what you're going through but you know I'm here for you. Always babe."
"I know and that all helps. And I know you are. I'm sure you'll get some ridiculous phone calls about stuff." Peta said laughing slightly. The time with Sharna was giving her a little bit more of a sense of security. Maks was doing great in helping with her nerves and excitement but having her best friends ear as well just gave her that much more of a sense of peace.
"I'll love them. My phone is always open to you. You know that." Sharna said squeezing her hand.
'Even at 3 am when Maks is snoring and I have heartburn and can't sleep?" She teased.
"Even then. I got you P. Always. Speaking of getting you, when do I have to give you back?"
"Whenever. Maks was clingy this morning but he told me to go out and enjoy my day with you. I'll see him later. I'm yours for now." Peta said smiling.
"Pedicures?"
"Definitely!" And with that the two set off to enjoy their day together. They headed to a salon and got pedicures before they walked around the Grove and did some shopping. Finally they came across a dress store.
"Can we go in please?" Sharna said her eyes lighting up in excitement.
"Shar, we have awhile yet. And I'm not even big yet." Peta protested getting nervous.
"Please P, let's just look. Give you an idea of what your options are. They have to have maternity dresses in there. And this will give you an idea. We don't have to get anything. You don't even have to try anything on. Please for me?" Sharna begged bouncing as she held Peta's hand.
"Fine, but just looking." Peta conceeded. They headed into the shop and were met with a friendly looking brunette.
"Hi, I'm Brooke, are you guys looking for anything in particular today?"
"I'm Sharna and this is Peta. And she actually just got engaged."
"Congratulations then! Do you know what you're looking for? A style or anything?"
"Well, actually I'm expecting as well, twins. And the wedding is in 3 months. So I guess any ideas that I had kind of went out the window. But I'm not sure how big I'll be or when the last alterations can be. We're just kind of looking to see what my options are and everything."
"Okay, well congratulations on the pregnancy as well. We do have a decent selection of maternity dresses here as well as some catalogs. What we'd offer is we'd do an alteration probably a month before to figure out some of the things to take in, the length, and some other little details. Then the week before we'd do your final alteration and have it ready for you to pick up the day before you're wedding. And we would even have you try it on one last time just to be sure that you were pleased with it."
"Wow, the last week. And you're good with getting it ready in time?"
"Yes, we make sure we don't take on more than we'd need to to get ready. We only do 3 brides per week to ensure we can keep the dresses ready for the brides."
"That's much better than I thought." Peta said slightly shocked. Sharna smiled beside her holding her breath that they'd have at least some idea luck here.
"I'll show you our maternity section. If you decide you'd like to try any of them on just let me know and we'll get you into a room and help you out okay?" Brooke said leading the girls over to a section. She showed them the dresses they had in the shop as well as a few collection of magazines that they could look through. They sat down and went through the books to see what Peta was thinking. She decided that she wanted loose and flowy with some simple detailing. For some reason she just wanted to stay simple.
"Okay, let's look through what they have here and see what you think." Sharna said standing up and began to work through the racks. She saw a couple that fit what Peta was looking for before she came across one that has lacy across the top, and the dress flowed out into a long train. It was simple yet elegant and beautiful. "P, come here."
"Yeah?" Peta said walking over. She gasped when she looked at it. She knew instantly that was it. It was exactly what she was looking for.
"That's what I thought. You want to see if you can try it on?" Sharna said.
"Umm, yeah. Let's ask." So they got Brooke and 15 minutes later Peta was being zipped into the gorgeous gown. Sharna was sitting out in the area waiting to see. Finally the curtain opened and Peta appeared.
"Oh my P." Sharna said as her eyes instantly filled with tears. That was it, that was her best friends wedding dress.
"I'm afraid it's not going to look the same on as it did. I don't want to be crushed." Peta said nervously.
"You won't be. I promise." Sharna said standing up and moving beside her. Peta finally got a good look in the mirror and her eyes filled up with tears as well.
"Shar, this is it." She said softly as she took in the dress and the way it laid on her body.
"It is."
"Is it stupid that it's my first dress? Should I keep looking?" She said as she continued to take in the dress.
"If i could interject?" Brooke said quietly enjoying watching the two girls moment.
"Go ahead." Peta nodded looking at her.
"It's been my experience that whenever someone finds the dress. It's the dress. No matter if it's the first dress, the 5th dress or the 30th dress. And you can try on a 1000 but you're always going to come back to the one that was your dress. So if you feel this is your dress, and it looks gorgeous on you as well. And the alterations will be very simple with the way it flows, then this is your dress. And I'm not saying that to make a sale or anything, it's just my experience."
"Thank you." Peta said nodding.
"So...." Sharna said looking at her friend.
"I want it." Peta said nodding.
"You're positive?" Sharna asked just to be sure.
"I want it." Peta repeated. The next 1/2 hour was a whirlwind of figuring out fittings and dates as well at the pricing and everything else that Peta would want or need. They did an initial fitting just to see the sizes and everything now and see how she shaped over time. Brooke ensured that it helped immensely. Finally it was time for the two to head home. They talked for awhile before Peta suddenly became quiet. Sharna looked over at her and realized that she had fallen asleep. She smiled, happy to have her best friend back again and be sharing in this journey.
'Hey, P passed out in the car. Do you want me to wake her or you want to come get her?' Sharna texted Maks as she took their exit to their house.
'I'll come get her. She's probably beat from last night and today. She needed it tho. I hope you guys had a great day. How far?'
'Just took the exit so a few minutes. We did. It was a great day.' A few minutes later she pulled into their driveway and Maks appeared out of the house.
"She has some bag, I'll put them on the table and head out. Tell her I said I'll text her."
"I will, thanks Shar." Maks said as he went to Peta's side and gathered her in his arms, being careful of her head. She immediately looped her arm around his neck and snuggled into him. Sharna went ahead and got the doors for him before laying the bags on the table and heading out. Maks carried Peta upstairs and laid her on the bed before removing her shoes and throwing their throw blanket over her. He got ready to leave her rest when he heard her.
"Maks?" She said groggily.
"Right here pretty girl." He said moving back over.
"Hold me." She murmured. He smiled and laid down next to her letting her press into his body.
"Better?" He asked.
"Maks." She said again.
"Yea babe?"
"I found my dress."
"You found your dress?" He said shocked.
"i did. It was it. I just knew. Shar said too. We got it."
"That's amazing babe, I can't wait to see you in it. You'll be the most beautiful bride ever." He said kissing her head.
"Maks?" She said once more. He chuckled at her continuing to say his name.
"Yes pretty girl?"
"I can't wait to marry you." She said as she snuggled into him just a little bit more before drifting off back to sleep.
"I can't either pretty girl, I can't either." He said pulling her in tighter and relaxing as she slept in his arms.
*And that's a wrap on that one! The dress is in the top for all of you to see. I hope you love it. I can totally see P rocking it. Let me know of any wedding details that you want to see in the future as well as what you thought of this one. Don't forget to like it up as well! Thank you all for reading and supporting. I love you all!

What's ahead in the Bible readings for Ordinary 26? (September 28 to October 4, 2017)
What's ahead in the Bible readings for Ordinary 26? (September 28 to October 4, 2017)
Other designations for this week are the seventeenth week after Pentecost, Roman Catholic Proper 26, and Revised Common Lectionary Proper 21.
The central scripture this week is the parable of the two sons. A father asks the first son to go and work in the vineyard. He refuses, but later he goes. He asks the same of the second son. He says he will go, but does not. Jesus asks which of the two did the will of his father, and those present said “The first.” Those reading the complementary scriptures wills see that God wants no one to die. Indeed, if we turn from our sins, we will surely live. I imagine many people are like me. We have to turn away from our sins over and over again. But the good news is that God is always there, ready to forgive us as many times as we turn back to God.
In the complementary series we also have three episodes from the life of Samson, one of the early judges of Israel. (The judges followed Moses and Joshua and preceded the kings.) I had forgotten what a complicated life he led. He was a nazirite, which involved a number of special vows given in Numbers 6. One of them was not allowing their heads to be shaved.
In the semi-continuous series, we have two versions (one from Numbers and the other from Exodus) of the Israelites complaining of thirst. In both versions, Moses asks for God's help and God gives instructions. Then Moses strikes a rock and water flows. In one version, though, God told Moses simply to command the water to flow. As a result of his disobedience in this matter, he gets to see the promised land but not enter it. I take this as a reminder that it is important to listen closely to what God is telling us and to do exactly as God commands.
Remember that from now through Advent we have two series of readings, the complementary and the semi-continuous. Most denominations allow pastors to choose from either series. More information about the two series is here: Which Series?
Thursday through Sunday Psalms Complementary: Psalm 25:1-9 Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation. Semi-continuous: Psalm 78:1-4, 12-16 We will tell the coming generation of the glorious deeds of the Lord. Thursday: Preparation for the Twenty-Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time Complementary: Ezekiel 12:17-28 Jerusalem's people will eat fearfully and drink in dismay; their land will be stripped, because of their violence. Semi-continuous: Isaiah 48:17-21 The Lord has redeemed his servant Jacob. Both: James 4:11-16 What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Friday: Preparation for the Twenty-Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time Complementary: Ezekiel 18:5-18 A righteous person doesn't worship idols, defile, oppress or rob anyone, and gives bread to the hungry, covers the naked, and executes justice. Semi-continuous: Numbers 20:1-13 God tells Moses to take his staff and command a rock to yield water. Moses strikes it. God tells him because he did not trust he will not enter the promised land. Both: Acts 13:32-41 We bring you the good news God promised our ancestors and fulfilled for us by raising Jesus. Saturday: Preparation for the Twenty-Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time Complementary: Ezekiel 18:19-24 If the wicked turn away from their sins and do what is lawful and right, they will surely live. Semi-continuous: Numbers 27:12-14 God tells Moses, "Go up this mountain and see the land that I have given to the Israelites. When you have seen it, you shall be gathered to your people." Both: Mark 11:27-33 The chief priests, scribes, and elders challenge Jesus to tell them by what authority he acts. The Twenty-Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time Complementary: Ezekiel 18:1-4, 25-32 Repent and turn from all your transgressions, otherwise they will be your ruin. I have no pleasure in the death of anyone. Semi-continuous: Exodus 17:1-7 The people asked Moses for water. God told Moses to strike the rock, and water would come out of it. He did it in the presence of the elders. Both: Philippians 2:1-13 Let the same mind be in you that was in Jesus Christ, who emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, and became obedient even to the point of death. Both: Matthew 21:23-32 The parable of the two sons. Monday through Wednesday Psalms Complementary: Psalm 28 The Lord is the strength of his people; he is the saving refuge of his anointed. Semi-continuous: Psalm 42 Hope in God, for I shall again praise God, my help and my God. Monday: Reflection on the Twenty-Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time Complementary: Judges 14:1-20 Samson takes a Philistine wife, tells a riddle to the wedding guests, and kills thirty men of Ashkelon, a Philistine city. Semi-continuous: Exodus 18:1-12 Moses' father-in-law Jethro brings Zipporah and her sons back to Moses. The elders and Aaron share a meal with Jethro, who praises God. Both: Philippians 1:3-14 I pray that your love may overflow more and more with knowledge and insight to help you determine what is best, producing a harvest of righteousness through Jesus Christ. Tuesday: Reflection on the Twenty-Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time Complementary: Judges 16:1-22 Samson marries Delilah, who pries from him the secret of his strength: he is a nazirite, with unshorn hair. The Philistines seize him, cut his hair, and blind him. Semi-continuous: Exodus 18:13-27 At Jethro's urging, Moses appoints judges over the people, so he will not have to hear every case. Both: Philippians 1:15-21 That Christ is proclaimed in every way, whether from false motives or true. Living is Christ and dying is gain. Wednesday: Reflection on the Twenty-Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time Complementary: Judges 16:23-31 Samson prays for his strength just once, and uses it to topple a building, getting revenge for being blinded. Semi-continuous: Exodus 19:9b-25 Moses brought the people out of camp to meet God. Moses would speak and God would answer in thunder. Both: Matthew 9:2-8 Jesus tells a paralyzed man lying on a bed that his sins are forgiven. The scribes said he was blaspheming. Jesus then told the man to stand up, take his bed, and go home.
