It's an honor to be nominated. It's an honor to be put in the same league as actors who've been in the business for decades. It's an honor to be nominated along someone who's going to grow with him in their crafts. If he was going to lose to anyone everyone had said it was going to be him or Brendan and damn if he didn't think the man deserved it. The Whale was tough to watch but it was good- it was the sort of thing that earned an actor their Oscar. He shouldn't be- He shouldn't be feeling the way he does. Bill didn't get a single award all season and Colin went from a frontrunner with him to the afterthought along with Paul.

He can't even talk about this with Barry because it was always Ke's one to lose and he wasn't going to. Maybe Angela- but hadn't hers been wrapped in the grief from losing Chadwick. He still can't believe he heard Samuel L Jackson make a noise for him of all people behind him. He should be happy, this is the start of him finally making a difference. Making his fans proud and happy for him like Elvis. Making his mom proud that all her work wasn't for nothing. Making Lisa and Priscilla proud wasn't for nothing but why does he feel as if it was in this moment. Why is his brain just telling him this is how it starts? He'll have this whirlwind of three years and then three projects back to back to back only to have nothing afterward. Angela feels him tense a little- she must have because she looks at him and squeezes his hand once again before nodding over to you.

You- you can help ease his mind, once you're in the car he'll talk to you, whisper in your ear how this was not how he thought this night would go. His eyes meet yours and you smile gently before shrugging a little. He watches your lips mouth "love you" before he focuses on the last of the awards. It's a bit of organized chaos leaving the theater and it almost seems as if there's just an Elvis line of people walking around hand in hand like a bunch of kindergarteners before Austin and you finally get into a car and you squeeze his hand. "You okay?"

If it was anyone else, if it was Baz or Liv or Catherine or Kelvin or Luke- if it was anyone he'd lie. But you deserve the truth in a way that very few people do in this circumstance. "No, I'm actually not. I- I don't even know what I'm feeling. I'm mad but I shouldn't. I was nominated for an Oscar. I used to dream about this. I almost won an Oscar!"

"You have a Golden Globe! And a BAFTA!" You remind him, your voice matching his in volume before your hand moves to cup his cheek. There's a wet bit that you brush away with your thumb. "You're allowed to feel something, Austin. It doesn't make you a bad person or take away from Brendan's win because I know you, I know we're going to go the party and you're gonna see him and he's gonna give you a big dad hug and you're gonna gush. And you're gonna bounce up and down with Ke and make sure Baz doesn't drink too much because Catherine asked you too."

The laugh that bubbles up from him is wet sounding, covered in unshed tears as he sniffles. "Forgot how I'm gonna tell Luke about Polly making me do some moves for party tricks. And how Kelvin is going to remind me to-"

"Chill out?" You finish like that's actually what Austin was going to say before he shakes his head, allowing himself to just rest his head in your hand.

"Something like that. I just thought- I let my hopes get up." Austin whispers and you frown.

"No one blames you for that, you know. I don't. Tell you what. When we get to the party, how about we just sit in the car for a little bit until you calm down. And then when we get there, we just relax. Just for a little bit until you stop hurting so much. I'll shoo away the cameras with my charm." Austin raises an eyebrow knowing that isn't always how things go with you and him.

"Yeah? No fighting that'll get us both in trouble?"

"Pinky swear." You hold out your pinky as you move to kiss Austin. "Now, how about we focus on our plans for after tonight. I believe someone promised me a vacation?"

Austin's answer is a hum before he gives you another kiss. "How do you feel about the mountains?"

Thorns (E), 18k, andreil // a post-canon fic where andrew and neil cope with doing a long distance relationship when u both have fatal levels of attachment issues lol. i spent a stupid long time on this fic for the word count, but there is love in every single word. i like this universe bc it's what i want for post-canon andreil. no one gave them the tools for this shit, but i love the idea that they will always figure out how to be together, even if its messy.

No Turning Back (E), 31k, andreil // this is perhaps recency bias, but i think this is the best thing ive ever written. i have a hard time summarizing it.. but it's an au where the conflict is almost entirely in andrew's head, which of course means he Causes Many Problems. i actually built this fic out from Andrew's fucked up internal journey, which was cool for me -- like, the main plot was developed to fit his character arc. i think that's probably not rocket science or unique but it was my first time doing it that way!

We Can Live Forever (T), 46k, andreil // i used to not like hs aus and then i wrote a huge one lol. its childhood best friends-lovers, and centered on this ridiculous lip sync serenade fundraiser ?? i made them all dance. a lot. sometimes its serious, but its mostly very silly. i wrote it w the intention of giving people that "read until 4am screaming into ur pillow bc cute aggression" feeling that so many fics have given me, and the feedback ive gotten implies ive succeeded, so im rly proud of that!!

Stoner AU (E), 21k, snowbaz // i'm cheating a bit because this is a series, but i almost consider this thing to be like a collection of sitcom episodes lol. it's a normal au, simon is a weed guy and baz buys from him and also falls in love w him. theres a lot of penny and shep and its all just very FUNNY imo. and they are all so fucking devoted to each other in kind of unhinged ways. i love rereading these fics.

I'll Come Back To You (T), 6.9k, andreil // ok, for 1: that's the exact word count. every time i fix typos on rereads i have to edit it to preserve the wc. but 2: this fic is Not Silly or Smutty LOL. it's probably my plottiest/most serious fic in some ways -- it deals w, like, multiple dimensions ?? and amnesia. and loneliness. i'm proud of the ambiguity, because i tend to be a writer that punches you in the face with The Theme. this one leaves a lot for the reader to figure out (to the dissatisfaction of some commenters lol), but i like that you have to think about it a bit.

boyfriend privileges (T), 4k // i should not have been surprised that this did the numbers, but i was kind of shook when my ao3 inbox blew up like never before. it's fanfic catnip -- a 5+1 post-canon with resolvable angst interspersed with soft moments. i wrote it in like 2 days and didn't edit, and aint that just the way of ao3 lol.

flashes of intimacy (T), 7k // this is a series of fifteen <500 word fics that i add to pretty often, so it also makes sense that it's got a lot of readers! ive always been proud of my ability to write short, so it makes me happy that it's up here. it wld probs be #6 on my personal rating.

Inside Thoughts (T), 1.5k // andrew gets his wisdom teeth out and is a goober about it. one of my first aftg fics -- i think it's up here bc it's almost a year old. i am not passionate abt it tbh, i wrote it kind of as a joke one night while i was high lmfao

Do Not Disturb (T), 2k // another of my first aftg fics that i kind of dont care much about hahaha. it's another catnip situation, a post-canon moment where neil panics & unconsciously calls andrew, similarly to how he does in canon. and then they r soft <3

Tequila Sunrise (M), 4k // i know people love this one -- it's also my most bookmarked. it's fun!! drunk neil!! but i almost can't read it anymore lol. there's some prose im proud of in there, but there's also some lazy characterization choices i made bc i had no idea it would get so many hits. its hard for me as the Characterization Guy to reconcile that hahaha.

ok as usual that was long-winded as hell. i love 2 talk abt writing :) also i feel bad 4 the lack of snowbaz representation here lol, but i think that i'm 1. better at writing andreil and 2. have gotten a lot better at writing while i was unemployed the last few months. i think a lot abt taking snowbaz for another whirl now, but consider: then i wouldn't get to write abt Andrew Minyard :(

WHO IS SHE? - Austin Butler x Reader - PART 1

Austin may have accidentally exposed your very private relationship at Cannes.

I was so proud of him. Twelve minutes of people applauding the hardwork and dedication that he put in for years. I couldn’t believe the man I saw on the screen. The entire room was in a state of euphoria.

He was listening to Baz so intently, taking in every moment he could and clinging on to every word. I could tell he was proud of himself and his work. That itself made this moment special for me. Austin is the most humble, and doesn’t often give himself the credit he deserves. He would come home every night nitpicking everything he did that day. Every last move, every last word. He’d listen to the same word Elvis said over and over again until he got it perfect, right down to the way his lip may have quivered. Anything he did he never thought was good enough. Seeing him appreciate himself and his work made my heart swell. The night was going absolutely perfect.

And then he looked at me.

Austin and I have been together for some time now, nearing a year. We both agreed very early on that we appreciated the privacy of a relationship and did everything we could to remain that way. It was never much of a challenge for us, me not being in the industry and Austin being an extremely private man in general. During Cannes for the showing of Elvis, it was important that I attend, but we arrived separately. I was sitting behind him in the theater so I could still support him and hold his hand if needed without the wandering eyes of others. In our daily life, neither of us used much social media, and most of the time going out in public was easy. We frequented smaller towns and small businesses for any outings and did date nights at home. The public never even knew Austin was in a relationship, let alone who he was in a relationship with.

You could probably then imagine my shock and the shock of the entire world when they caught Austin Butler winking at a mystery woman in the Cannes crowd that no one could seem to find. It was quite literally the wink seen around the world.

I saw it in slow motion. He turned his head to look at me, giving me the side eye that he always does when he’s flirting. His cheeks turned the most perfect shade of rose as he started to smile at me. Then, he winked. And I swooned. Then I panicked. Then I swooned again. His smile got even bigger, probably to reassure me it would be fine. God, his smile could stop the world. I always loved the way his smile could light up an entire room. He licked his bottom lip as he stared at me, and I immediately forgot there was anyone in the room. I quickly came back to reality as I noticed our friend Olivia, who plays Priscilla Presley in the film, was looking at him with shock, and back at me with terror.

He knew by the way my face fell that I was nervous. Scared, even. I didn’t want the world to know. I wanted to keep him to myself. I didn’t want opinions. I didn’t want the judgment. He continued to look at me, his jaw clenching. We were literally communicating through eye contact. Me as if to say “How are you going to explain this away?” and Austin to say “We’ll get through this.”

Surely we would. He always knew what to do. He always knew what to say. Maybe nobody saw? Maybe none of the cameras caught it? I turned my head in another direction to see if anyone may have caught it. Much to my dismay, I found myself staring down the lens of probably the largest camera I’d ever seen. I could almost read the headlines already.

Final thoughts:

So i  know i started this pretty late after its release but i never had the energy to pick up the books to read and i couldnt remember everything of the plot so i just got the audio books for all three of the titles and started over. im still so very much attached to these character and it will be a series i remember for my entire life. I didnt get my devneil ship but i got agatha’s surprise ship and then the best thing to happen was shepard and penny, they overshadowed simon and baz and that never usually happens in a book series that i started reading because of the gay characters. Carry On was one of the first LGBTQ+ book i had every read and so it has a special place in my heart.

i was worried i wouldnt like Wayward son, but it got good and then shepard appeared and it was like having a mor sociable newt Scamander in the party and i loved it. I loved the dragon and water spirit so much.

This book was also very good, i got really irritated everytime richards appeared but that just shows he was well written because i cant stand him. i wont lie fiona is kinda my least favorite character but i was always a big supported of her being a relationship with nico and im so glad it happened they even are getting married Pippa was wonderful when she game into play at the end and i was so proud of her when she did full sentence spell. i love this series im glad for rereading them it

most popular multi-chapter fic: all of my current posted fics are one shots! by hits it’s strike the match (set me ablaze) and by kudos it’s knead, then let rise

actual worst part of writing: time. not in the way you probably think i mean- i LOVE taking the time to write, i love putting in my headphones and sitting down for hours and simply writing. however i wish i could fold that experience down into the very small pockets of time i ACTUALLY have to write in between school and work and general life. so the worst part of writing is i want to spend so much time doing it but they are hours i do not have 😂

best part of writing: this one is hard- i think the feeling of accomplishment that comes with finishing a fic? no matter how long it is, i always feel so proud when i send a fic off into the world because i MADE that, i put my time and my effort and my heart into it. i have a really hard time keeping my focus on creative projects, so when i go onto my ao3 and see how many things ive written i feel so proud of myself for putting my mind to something and seeing it all the way through :) in the writing process itself i think its seeing the world through a characters eyes and having to push the boundaries of my own thinking in order to do so!

do you outline: on the whole, no! but i write mainly short pieces and i write those linearly. i am working on a longer piece rn that has an outline, and i think im going to keep doing outlines for fics that i know will be long from the start

fic ideas you probably won't get to but wouldn't it be nice: oof here we go baby. i have SO many ideas but some just rattle vaguely around in my brain like marbles in a cup. for drarry- stardust au, a whole bunch of half baked eighth year ideas, draco working at a magical craft store, dad fic, a hanahaki fic. for snowbaz i wanna write a uni au where they meet at a tabletop rpg club, and an au where simon never made it to watford for some reason and baz passes out in a london tube carriage bc of how strong simons magic is. but idk if ill ever get to those because, refer to self my callout below

callouts @ me: my wip graveyard is sprawling. all-encompassing. never ending. i have wips that are longer than any published fic i have and they simply languish in my google drive. im just so bad about starting stories and then not finishing them 😂

best writing traits: [dial up sound] idk does …. tenderness count? i just think im good at writing soft moments and thats something to be proud of. i myself have spent a lot of my life very jaded so i am now big on radical softness, and i really try to put that into my fics in a way that makes sense for the characters. i also feel like im pretty good at building specific atmospheres, and telling a complex story in a short amount of words

spicy opinions: none of my opinions are spicy 😂 uhhhh i do think anyone can write about experiences that aren’t their own as long as they make sure they are informed. but thats it really

headcanon that simon has a chronic stutter:

since he grew up being moved from foster home to foster home, simon never properly learned how to speak or articulate his thoughts

this results in him developing a stutter

he cant say any words that start with “s”, which is painfully ironic given his name is simon snow. he draws out the “s” sound and ends up sounding like a snake. he also has trouble with words like “charlotte” and the letters “b” “p” “m” “n” and “c”. practically the whole alphabet is his enemy

because of his stutter the kids in the foster homes all mock him and laugh at him, making the stutter worse for simon

he becomes a quiet kid who refuses to use his words in fear of embarrassing himself

he sees some speech therapists, but because theyre appointed by the government, simon never sees the same therapist twice

this causes his stutter to get worse. he tries to fix it himself and developes a nasty habit of using fillers in sentences like “um” “uh” and “like” repeatedly

by the time hes 11 hes given up any hope of becoming normal and being able to speak without fear

when he gets to watford and realizes how important it is to say phrases just right to make spells work, it feels like hes in his own kind of personal hell

the professors at watford do their best to help simon, but in the magik world a stutter is something that is a tragedy to mages as it hinders their speaking capabilities

because of his stutter, simons magic is even more pathetic and chaotic than it should be and his classmates all whisper about it

during simons first year, the mage is constantly trying to find a “cure” for simons stutter and is always quickly frustrated by how long it takes simon to say something

this causes him to retreat further into himself and only speak when absolutely needed (it takes penny a year to get simon to start speaking again)

for a while, penny is the only person who understands that simons stutter isnt something of a tragedy: its just who he is

shes also very protective of simon and his speech impediment. anyone who even glances at simon oddly while hes speaking to them is sure to be jinxed by miss penelope bunce herself

and as for simons relationship with baz throughout their watford years:

simon notices pretty quickly that baz’s taunts never revolve around his speech impediment. baz is many things, mostly a dick, but at least he isnt someone who mocks speech impediments. its something that is oddly comforting to simon. baz may make his life miserable, but at least he knows not to make fun of something simon cant fix

as simon gets older his stutter becomes something he can kinda control (which hes quite proud of) but like every person with a chronic stutter: it gets bad when hes anxious or stressed

baz makes simon anxious and stressed

they share a room

as established above: baz is a dick

you can see simons problem

now baz ? he finds simons stutter endearing and maybe intentionally irritates simon just to hear him say, “p-p-p...phhh..piss o-off !!!”

baz isnt proud of it and knows that its probably something very offensive to stutterers, but to him its what makes simon so human. the chosen one, the heros of all heros, can barely say his own name without jumbling over his words

simon comes to learn that the only time he doesnt stutter is when hes defending others

baz notices this too and is disgusted by how in love that makes him feel

overtime simon slowly begins to accept his stutter and that it will probably always be a part of him, though he still prefers to use actions rather than words

when simon and baz get together, they develope a system that allows them to communicate without words. simon cherishes it dearly

baz also encourages simon to talk about his stutter. simon knows its baz’s way of getting simon to open up more to speaking, but he loves that baz tries to help

they have long conversations every night about how simons stutter feels (painful and like hes choking)

how baz can help simon during a bad stutter fit (dont try and guess what simon is trying to say. dont say the word for simon. just sit there patiently and wait)

if simon should give speech therapy another try (maybe, but for now simon is content with where he is)

what methods simon uses to speak smoothly (visualizing the words helps simon. and repeating what he wants to say numerous times inside his head)

in the end, baz’s dedication to helping and understanding simon’s stutter, along with penny’s fierce protectiveness over him, are what really help simon accept himself

simon’s stutter will never be cured, but for once the thought doesnt make him anxious or ashamed. he has two awesome people who love him as he is. thats what matters to simon. they keep him going

might add more but i was researching my stuttering condition late at night and needed something comforting. so why not project my insecurities onto my comfort characters ? we need more stutter representation (done correctly) anyways x

*please note that i myself have a chronic stutter. all experiences listed here are my own. if anyone tries to tell me im wrong i will cry

🏅 What is something you recently felt proud of in regard to your writing (finished a fic, actually planned for once, etc).

i wrote a sex scene!!! with dicks!! lol. that was a very weird experience for me bc i have no experience with penises. i feel like ive lamented about this struggle all over town and made a huge deal of it lmfao. but im very proud of myself.

additionally, i just finished writing the last bit of a new chapter for a wip. ive been dancing around this little tiny bit for weeks and now ive done it! im answering this as i let it marinate and then im gonna go do a final sweep and post. hooray!

LET ME TALK ABT MY WEED FIC.... ok I didn't write enough about what they're wearing here. but its like. so many ripped black skinny jeans. they convert baz too once he becomes a lil stoner. simon and shepard go to the store together whenever one of them needs new clothes and they buy matching shirts as a joke every time and then they sometimes plan their outfits so they can match just on a random tuesday. and they pretend they're in a club and other random shit that no one else finds funny. also simon and shepard met bc sheps phone broke and he came to simon to fix it. and then simon also sold him weed and they smoked together and simon got too stoned to fix sheps phone that night and the tube was closed before they realized it. and he couldn't call uber bc his phone was broken. (they could've called it on simons phone but they were too stoned to think of that). so instead they just slept in simons bed together and cuddled. it was like a fanfic. penny said so. and then she started dating shepard but simpard still snuggle. one time shep tried to initiate a threesome but simon and penny were both like Absolutely not (even though simon admitted he would probably just bang shepard on his own. Penny wasn't even mad she was just like "ok just warn me if that's gonna happen.") anyway! that was a lot sdjfslgbsjlbsds I'm feeling it tonight. feeling simaprd in this chiles tonight

Summary: Kylo is in town to spend some time with you, you cannot wait for you two to take some time off and relax. Being the CEOs of your own companies was rough work so Kylo has a little speech for you.

It was 4:00 on the dot, you knew you’d be able to slip out of the office easily at this time. Besides, you were the boss, who was going to stop you? Your employees knew better, each one went through your rather rigorous 60 day training period and if they lasted then they deserved all the benefits you were able to grant them. They were grateful to be here under your care just as much as you were grateful they helped create a loving work environment.

It helps being a powerful boss ass bitch. You wore that title proud.

What you also wore proud was the immaculate silver necklace around your neck with an elegant “K” charm dangling, catching the light of every room you walked into. It was the latest gift from Kylo, just because he missed you and wanted you to have a small piece of him with you in Los Angeles after you came home.

Your fingers fidgeted with the charm,  rubbing the “K” over and over. You looked at your watch once again, 4:05. You rose from your chair and rounded the desk, grabbing your work satchel and coat, flicking the light off behind you. Your assistant looked up from her computer, “Headed home early, ma’am?”

“How many times do I have to tell you,” you teased, “don’t call me ‘ma’am’ I’m not old.”

She let out a hearty laugh, “Of course, is there anything you’d like me to finish up, Miss?” You paused and thought for a moment but you couldn’t bear to think about work much longer.

“Do one thing and then you can go home, email each department to give everybody the rest of the day off.”

“On account of what, Miss?”

“On the account that I’m in a damn good mood and I’m going to see somebody that I’ve missed dearly.”

You gave her one last smile before continuing out of the office, a little hop found its way into your step echoing in the clinks of the darling heels you wore.

It’s been a couple months since you met the infamous Kylo Ren. You didn’t know who he was when you two met that fateful evening but after spending not just the night together but the following week with him, you knew he was somebody you wanted to continue keeping in your life.

In summary, the relationship the two of you cultivated was almost like two stars colliding in the galaxy and choosing to fly together. The choice to stay around each other, watching him with his explosive temper and him watching you in your cool rage, that choice made whatever you had with Kylo Ren feel powerful and unwavering.

After your time in New York with what you initially thought would be a fling, he visited you in California once before. After your second trip to New York, it was then that you knew in your heart that you were in it for the long haul.

It was nice, you thought as you drove down the busy Los Angeles freeways. You have an incredibly sexy date tonight and he is probably the sexiest man in the world.

You were eager to return home, hoping to see the man who invaded your thoughts soon. His plane was expected to land after it got dark and the two of you had planned a simple wine and dine on the balcony of your apartment. A nice cozy evening with one of the warmest souls you’ve ever met.

The apartment building you lived in was one of those that was lingering from old Hollywood, the art deco structure was an iconic look which made you love it from your first visit. It also helped the security on the building was top notch, something you’ve come to appreciate being a woman living by yourself.

“Honey, I’m home,” you said to no one as you entered your home, leaving your keys in a small bowl by the front door. As you removed your shoes by the doorway, you noticed there was a dark grey silk scarf on the coat rack, an item of clothing that was certainly not yours.

You ran your fingers over it, feeling its softness. After a moment you caught a whiff of the cologne that lightly came off it- it was distinctly Kylo. Your heart went into a flutter as your hands reached the bottom of the scarf where there was a black monogram KR embroidered on the rich material. That smile you had been forcing down finally spread wide across your face as you called his name loudly.

“Over here, little one,” his deep voice rang from outside your balcony. You took off your coat, throwing it off to some chair at your dining bar area. 

Kylo stood on the balcony, waiting for you leaning against the glass railing. He looked incredibly handsome standing there, the sun illuminated each and every single one of his beauty marks that you’d come to love tracing over with sweet kisses during moments of reprieve. His shirt was a tad bit ruffled, adding to his charm. Clearly a man who worked as fast as he could just to fly to your neck of the woods just as fast. 

You could hardly catch your breath as you took the few remaining steps that kept you from your lover, a truly decadent sweet. As your arms found themselves around his neck, his lips met yours in a sweet, chaste kiss. Nothing could be spoken that could mirror the joy in your heart, only the smile you felt sprawled on your face.

“Hey, handsome,” you spoke as you gazed up at Kylo.

He looked at you, letting his hands snake down to your hips, “Hey.”

The two of you kissed one more time before he grabbed one of your hands that was wrapped around his neck, he gave another kiss to the back of your hand. “A true gentleman,” you poked.

He let out a groan, “Quiet you, just sit in the damn chair, there’s something we need to talk about.” By the looks of his facial expression, you knew it was serious but nothing of concern, something that eased your mind for the time being. He led you by your hand, not once letting go and sat you down in one of the two chairs sitting on the balcony. You noticed that Kylo took the liberty of setting out your dinner plates for two on the table alongside fresh flowers, a colorful arrangement of carnations, daisies, baby’s breath, and roses. The mixture of reds and whites filled your heart with adoration for the gruff man in front of you.

Kylo always carried an air of aggression and being rough around the edges, something you’d easily recognize as his signature. It didn’t matter in the end, only that you’d know you’d never be subjected to the end of his red hot blade.

“So,” you edged him on, “Is it Bazine?” He shook his head. “Your mother,” you felt yourself grow cold. He shook his head again, saying nothing. Instead of words he sat down opposite of you and reached into his jacket pocket that hung around the back of his chair and grabbed something, a small box.

He passed it to you, a black box wrapped in a fine white silk ribbon. It was small, fit perfectly in the palm of your hand as you picked it up. “What’s this, Kylo? I’m sure I’ve told you time and time again not to get me gifts,” you laughed.

He looked away, resting back in his seat. “Just open the damned box already, brat.” You laughed again, knowing his little tantrum was a jest. Something you’ve grown to love about him.

The ribbon fell away easily, as if wanting nothing more than you to hurry and open the box too, you took a moment and glanced back to Kylo. His eyes grew dark as he covered his mouth with one of his hands, his eyebrows just as furrowed in hesitation. You could tell he was a bit anxious.

With a click, the little black box was open. Inside was a silver cuff bracelet. Simple, modest, and everything you could ever admire in a jewelry piece. “Oh, Kylo, I love it!”

“Keep looking at it,” his voice low.

A quick glance back down to your hands as you turned the cuff over and there it was, an inner engraving with a simple, “Just because I love you”. A phrase that instantly triggered tears of happiness well in your eyes. 

“You love me?”

He looked at you, astonished you could say such a thing and leaned forward, “Of course, why wouldn’t I? You’re incredible in a room, you command attention, your very essence demands respect.”

You looked back down at the cuff, admiring the words shine in the sunlight, “You sure know how to charm a lady,” you teased in a deadpan voice.

Kylo leaned back in his seat, noting the hints of playful sarcasm you emanated and let out a scoff, “You’re ruthless, little one. I just told you that I love you and your first instinct is to bust my balls.” You chuckled but continued to admire your gift. He whispered your name, calling you to look in his eyes. 

“You owe me nothing, and yet here we are. You waltzed into my life and after knowing the mess I’m in with Baz you stayed in my life, she’ll never forgive either of us for as long as she lives. Not to mention my own mother. You are a strong woman and you’ve seen the absolute terror I can be and yet here you are,” he paused, running his fingers through his hair.

“There is not a damn thing in this world that I wouldn’t change or do any differently if that meant I wouldn’t have met you in that restaurant. Fuck, go on a vacation, a long one, after I sign divorce papers, we could buy a whole new apartment in New York, one that Bazine will never step foot in and that could, I don’t fucking know, be an actual home for you and I. You’ve not a single clue just how much life and love you bring with you, and just how being around you makes me feel, I just-,” he pauses again, realizing he’s ranting, “I didn’t mean to go off on some big speech but what I wanted to say was that I love you, if you’d be willing to be in this fucked up version of a relationship with me for the foreseeable future and hopefully thereafter too, then maybe we can do that whole ‘let’s spend the rest of our lives together’ bullshit I’m always hearing about.”

This was the first time you’d ever heard Kylo Ren lay bare more than he ever had, admitting his own brash reactions, a mild hint at his own insecurities, and for the briefest of moments you were breathless.

Instead of choosing words, you hastily put the cuff on and stood from your chair taking two small steps to reach his noting how anxious he looked between your eyes and the newest addition to your jewelry set. You sat on his lap, taking a moment to caress his sharp jawline, “That was a lot of words to say I love you and you want to call me your girlfriend.”

He closed his eyes and threw his head back groaning, “Why are you like this!” 

You gave him a flourish of kisses all over his face, finally letting those tears from earlier fall, “Just because I love you too.”

1. Someone called this one “Magical Boy Simon Snow” and it is my favorite tag sdfasfd

I loved working on this piece and this is honestly one of my favorite things that I’ve drawn! I went wild on the colors and light effects but I think it turned out pretty nice and I learned through this one that I prefer to draw on bigger canvases! I’m used to drawing smaller pieces but it was WAY fun to draw something on a bigger canvas!!

2. Summer of Mutual Pining Birthday Art

LISTEN: I LOVE YURI ON ICE AND I WISH WE COULD HAVE SEEN MORE OF THE SUMMER OF MUTUAL PINING. IM TRYING TO MANIFEST A BEACH OVA. But honestly I really liked the way the colors and lighting in this picture turned out; I wanted it to have a similar vibe to the original screenshot which has a hazy type of filter over it and wanted to try for something similar and I think it turned out alright!

3. Chapter 61

This is the one was VERY experimental across the board- I tried a lot of new art techniques and tried to push myself out of my comfort zone. I wanted to try something new by pushing perspective and backgrounds just a little bit. I learned about a bunch of clip studio tools that help create more interesting compositions (which helped a LOT) and I tried out a new coloring technique that helped keep everything unified. CSP also has a lot of texture brushes which you can see I was very excited to use LMFAO. It’s not perfect but i’m really happy with the end result and I’m excited to continue learning new things and new techniques! OH- AND ONE MORE THING: I AM VERY VERY PROUD OF HOW THE SHOES TURNED OUT. I AM TRYING TO DRAW MORE SHOES AND I’M EXTREMELY SATISFIED WITH HOW IT TURNED OUT 

4. Viktor’s Birthday Art

Not much to say about this one- I just really liked the way it turned out! I really liked how the colors look together and I’m trying to make an effort to add any type of background even if it’s more abstract. I realize as I’m typing this that I just like to work with bright colors haha

5. Scribble Month: Day 6

I didn’t get to draw a lot of full pieces this year so it’s hard for me to pick which ones I want to put on this list, BUT: even though I didn’t get to finish Scribble Month this year i’m REALLY proud of all the pieces that I made for it. In particular this piece I made for it was an absolute BLAST to work on! I like working with inks because I think it’s a great way for me personally to be absolute and more confident in the lines I put down since I can’t erase them. This piece was so fun to draw; I love how Simon turned out in this piece and I love how I shaded Baz’s hair in this piece and I loved painting the letters in at the end! It was a really fun piece to work on and I think the end result turned out pretty cool!
