if i may ask, is it difficult at all to re-edit/organize the comic pages from the webtoon format to fit the graphic novel format?

on another note, I'm so happy that your kickstarter was funded!!! I love time and time again, im so excited to see this all happen <3

I'll just turn this ask into something of a guide for the process! Because yes, it is difficult, but there are also many ways I have been preparing from the beginning for this very situation to make things easier for me!

I've worked in both print and scroll in the past, and have done this transition once before for a short story, so I already had familiarity both with my goals for print, and struggles with the transition!

How I prepared from the beginning for this transition:

1: My panels are 2500 pixels wide, so they can span my page (which is 8.3x5.8 inches) at 350 DPI (which is print quality)

2: My layers are organized: Text, FX, Foreground, Characters, Background

3: I draw one very large (twice as big as any panel would be, minimum) background for my major locations, as well as drawing furniture assets in isolation. This not only saves me time when making my actual episodes, but it also offers me INCREDIBLE flexibility when making this transition to print.

These 3 things let me pull the character art to the page by itself, scale it up or down to fit my panel, and then fill in the background behind the character.

So, I read the scroll version, decide how many and which panels I want on the page for the pacing (I also keep page spreads and page turns in mind while I am doing this), and then I pull those panels over from the scroll version to the page.

Then, I make the panel borders/page layout that I want, fit the character art into it, paste in the backgrounds, do any art editing that I need, add FX, and then re-do the text!

Sometimes I do need to draw parts that are missing (shoulders or elbows getting cut off is an extremely common one) and sometimes I need to adjust facial expressions, cut panels, or rearrange panels to make things read more clearly. Since it's my comic already, I know how to do these things while maintaining the original intent, but if I were working with someone else's comic I would need to work closely with them to know what can and can't be cut.

Another common issue is that VERY tall panels will inevitably lose a lot of information when they’re turned to pages. Identify the purpose of the panel (pacing, showing a lot of detail, etc) and then replicate that with your page layout.

examples (in order) are: scene transition, being overwhelmed, suspense, and establishing shot. All of these were a single panel in the scroll version!

Another issue when converting pages is that panel order is a lot less straightforward than when starting from print format. Conversational back and forth that's fine in scroll often messes up the flow of reading in a page (characters facing out, not looking at eachother from panel to panel, etc) and so some creative solutions are necessary to keeping the reading order.

For the first page I had to delete and rearrange some panels, and in the second the dialogue bubbles guide us to read this page in a circle. (dialogue guides through a lot of my pages lol)

And the last really common issue that pops up is that height differences can be really difficult. Usually in print this is solved with clever angles, but I’ve already drawn everything. So, I’ll either resort to vertical shaped panels, panel pop-outs, or editing a character up or down to fit into the panel.

So, yes, it is difficult! But I have a lot of experience with both formats, and having prepared for this from the beginning I've been able to make the transition a LOT more smoothly than I otherwise could have.

i rlly like ur composition, i wanna know about your process :D

thank uuu !! yeah so like. composing a scene for me generally begins with a vague idea that i want to get down as quickly as possible- and for me that usually starts with finding a setting. I knew that i wanted to draw a) a group of roomates gossiping in a crowded kitchen and i wanted there to be b) one figure in the extreme foreground and c) lots of plants. i do use some tools to figure out perspective, mainly the csp perspective ruler. Usually i start by finding a picture i like similar to the vibe im going for- but instead of referencing anything else- im purely interested in perspective. sorry to anyone who is shocked i dont generate all of my perspective purely by myself- i can draw in perspective fairly well but i struggle to make straight lines and this is easier to make grids with than the line tool lol ^_^ i try to use it kinda more like spellcheck on typos than like something to fully rely on. this is the video i learned this trick from:

i saw the left photo and realllly loved how the cabinets alligned with the wall- so i used my ruler tool to draw out my inital plotted points from the image- basically the linear movements i was most interested in and then i turned off the image layer and worked with those lines and the ruler tool to move on. eventually i had this:

which was enough for me to put my characters in for the inital round. if you notice- i made a looot of further adjustments as i go on. this sketch is not a final layout, its so my characters have somewhere to be! i cannot draw someone standing on a floor if theres no floor, nor leaning on a table that doesnt exist. i can’t draw my characters without a background, but i also cant finish my background without accounting for how my characters can comfortably exist in it!!

this was the like.. very basic start. i knew the positions of two characters- but i needed to change a lot not only to fit them better but to allow for the other two figures i had planned.

okay.. a little better. i widened the kitchen, closed the fridge door.. added a chair and fit in all the figures.. but this is waaay too dramatic. only two figures are actually interacting- and they are at wildly different energy levels!

this is where things started to make a little more sense characterwiss, so i was ready to refine backgrounds and figures and unite the two.

okay- this is where im getting my footing but things seem.. really really off. You can see me working on my framing here- theres some good linear movement from left to right here- but not vertically. It’s hard to notice the figure in the far back, so i need to redirect the viewers eye to move upwards as well!

this is where i decided to zoom out, add an interesting vertical element to the left of the image and make it clearer whats happening in the foreground. i had to account for some stuff by adjusting the cropping, but i paid attention to that as well.

annnd- thats what a clean sketch looks for me! i have all the elements of my scene accounted for, and things are clean enough to read.

the next step for me would be transfer! essentially- I print the image of my sketch out, resizing and taping pages together so my sketch matches the size of the paper i want to paint on, and then i use a lightboard to transfer my sketch with pencil onto my paper. Then i refine the sketch a few times on paper before stretching my watercolor paper (essentially just prepping for painting) and inking with a brush and colored ink before going in with watercolor, gouache and ink, then usually finishing with marker, colored pencil, pastel and ink. it’s a lengthy process but a lot of fun lol. but sketches for me can be like.. 15 layers of different roughs until im happy with just the sketch. there were more images but im on mobile and theres a 10 image limit 😭😭 im a bit masochistic but i believe that if i dont have a good sketch i dont have a good painting!!

I will fully cop to the fact that Undead Unluck is like basically a melting pot of shit that is quintessentially me-core, and that 100% colors my view of it. However, on the other hand, I don't care, this shit is still fucking complete fuego top to bottom.

Like, i get that the humor at the start is very unsavory and hard to swallow for some people, and I don't hold that against them. But the way it pays off on the initial rocky relationship between Andy and Fuuko is 10000000000000000000000000000% worth the price of admission.

And like, the character designs coupled with the art scratch a fucking primal itch in my brain. I could *look* at Undead Unluck forever. It's such a goddamn FUN style, and it's matched by a strong grasp on slick, readable page layouts. Not to mention the way the series is constantly moving its setting. In the first, like, thirty chapters alone, they go to Japan, Russia, The USA, Brazil, Australia, etc. I'm such a sucker for globe trotting.

The cast is very visually diverse. They all look cool, and so it's appealing to me on that level, but you can also just TELL that Tosuka adores his OCs. Like, fucking Void Volks, the basically nameless and faceless redshirt from volume 1? Yeah he's a core member of the cast now. Gina? The woman who died in volume 2 to advance Fuuko's plot? No she gets her happy ending actually and she gets to actually be friends with Fuuko. Like you want to talk about side cast utilization, this series should be setting a new fucking gold standard in WSJ as far as im concerned, One Piece notwithstanding.

And the worldbuilding. God, the worldbuilding. I'm a sucker for SCP/Magnus Archives-esque shit on a subatomic level and UDUL doesn't disappoint at all.

God, and how the powersystem is intrinsically tied to the worldbuilding on such a goddamn fundamental level, and how basically every superpower in the series has a purpose outside of combat, and just god shit fuck it's so fucking god damn good and I just wish I could like fucking bottle up the feelings that I feel about this series as an Imbibable Liquid and have you all drink it to actually understand how much I love this series because I genuinely feel that a) I will never be able to *fully* articulate why I love this series and b) I also totally understand why someone would think I'm a fuckin maniac for just how strong my feelings about it are. Like it's probably the epitome of like, "That Pretty Good thing that is just randomly a masterpiece to one specific person on the planet." But I happen to be that one specific person, and to me, Undead Unluck is That Pretty Good Thing.

It’s a rainy day out when you’re cuddled into your bed. Usually you love rainy days because of how cozy and nice it is but lately you find rainy days have started to lose their charm. Most things have really. Nothing seems worth the pain and trouble of getting up in the first place. So why bother? Things are simpler in this room. You’re lucky to be here in the first place aren’t you?

You’re not even in your own bed much less your own room. Not that you prefer to be there anyway. Your home is Slendermansion and yes you have your own room but the room you take up most of your time is actually one of the other residents of the mansion itself. The one and only Ben Drowned’s room is the one you’ve claimed as your safe haven. For more reasons than one too at that. You and Ben have a very special relationship, one deeper than most would consider hust your standard relationship. It’s pure and comforting and honest, which is something you find to be very rare these days. Ben is your caregiver and you are his precious little.

You regress from time to time and he’s the one that makes sure that you’re safe, well taken care of and well loved at that. The story of you two coming together with this dynamic is a long one and one that can be saved for another time. The point is that as time has gone by, as you two got closer so did your spaces. You’re known to go through bits of depressive episodes without knowing and he’s always been there for you. Just like this one of course. So here you are, snuggled up in Ben’s dark green comforter into the tightest and snuggliest burrito you could. If anywhere is your safe space it’s Ben’s room with a maximum of five feet between the two of you (at your most vulnerable of course). And Ben has no issue with this whatsoever. He’ll never let another living soul besides you know but he enjoys you being close to him as much as you do and he wouldn’t change that for anything. Caring for you and providing security for you brings him a differently kind of joy and healing.

As you sigh and nuzzle into the pillow on his bed you start to dissociate. You feel so…fuzzy and far away. Like you’re floating but falling at the same time. What a weird thing to feel. Rainy days usually helped these little bouts of dissociation but not today. Not yesterday or this week. When was the last time you took a second to enjoy the rain? …. You can’t seem to remember.

You hear a faint voice call for you but you can’t break out of your trance. The raindrops racing down the glass of the window has you locked in. You’re not Al that concerned about being conscious anyway. It’s easier this way.

Then there’s a gentle nudge on your leg.

“Baby? It’s been a while since you’ve eaten why don’t we go get a quick snack?”

You finally blink and raise your head to look up in his direction. He’s turned around from his gaming chair and desk, one hand on his mouse and the other still gently resting on your leg. You shrug in response and lay your head back down.

“Not hungry.”

“Y/N… it’s been five hours, how could you not be hungry?” He says gently, his thumb rubbing your calf lightly. “Cmon you don’t even have to get up, I’ll carry you there if you want hm? How does a piggy back ride sound? Or do you wanna be my pretty princess just like Zelda?” He gives you a reassuring smile with relaxed eyes and opens his arms for you. He always calls you his Zelda whether you’re bug or little. That’s just his personal pet name for you hust because you’re his special princess. One of his elf ears twitch slightly as he waits for your answer. It’s cute you can admit that part. But getting up is still so gross right now all you want to do is just be here. You shake your head no and cuddle the blankets around you closer. There’s a small pause but you hear him sigh softly before getting up.

“Alright Y/N, that’s okay. I’m still going to make you a little snack though because seeing you not eat worries me.”

Your hand clenches around the blanket you have. Something about that makes your heart ache. You try your best to hold yourself together but tears threaten to fall from your eyes. You don’t know why but you don’t want Ben to see you like this, even though he’s seen you like this more than a thousand times before. So why is it so difficult now?

He walks to the door frame and opens the door but looks back at you one last time, telling you one last thing before closing the door on his way out.

“I care about you princess, so it’s okay to let go if you need to.”

And that’s it. That’s the what breaks you.

The tears you were holding in before finally fall and they land onto the pillow making a wet spot onto the soft fabric. Why are you crying? There’s no reason to cry it’s nothing. Why should he care for someone like you? You just blew him off when all he wanted was to pamper his person. Not only that but his princess. God you really blew it. You sniffle and let your tears fall, your breath shuddering as you cry. It’s so hard and you can’t even pinpoint why. You’re so busy crying that you don’t even realize that you start to regress, everything hitting you all at once. You made your best friend leave. Not just your best friend but your caregiver, your beloved daddy. Who’s always so patient and loving and gentle to you.

‘Ugh m so stupid’

You whimper and wipe your eyes messily. It’s embarrassing when you’re like this. Regressing is one thing but impurely regressing is another. It’s been a while since it’s happened but you always hate it the most. You curl up into the comforter, covering yourself all the way so no one can see you. You cry under the comforter, hoping no one will find you but, of course, a gentle hand is placed on top of you. It rubs your back in circles slowly, you know exactly who it is and you’re embarrassed but you can’t help but feel comforted by the touch. You take a peek out from the covers and of course, Ben is there crouched by the bed side looking right back at you. His eyes endless pools of black with only two glowing red dots to show you he’s looking straight back at you. His expression is still relaxed like before and he smiles at you softy.

“Hi baby ♡ “

You coo slightly, a shameful look all over your face. “Mmm… h-hi baba”

His eye brows curve slightly and he moves the comforter from your face so he can see you more.

“Aweee I haven’t heard you call me that in a long time, cutie. You’re really little today huh?”

You nod in agreement but look away, more tears still rolling down your puffy red cheeks. He wipes your tears away and gently fixes your hair. “Yeah I thought so, you never act like this unless you’re in one of your depressy moods. It’s okay little fairy, papa’s here to take care of you now.” He says softy. Ben holds up a plate of finger food, everything on the plate is perfectly baby safe and everything you always favor when you’re particularly little. He saw this comin a mile away and it touches your heart so gently it makes more tears fall from your eyes. What a thoughtful daddy to do all this for you. You sniffle and your lip pouts as you do. He chuckles at the sight and picks up one of the snacks, holding it to your lips as he waits for you to take a bite. “Cmon little lady, have something to eat I bet your little tummy is just waiting to have something yummy in it.”

You take the snack into your mouth and sit up, Ben climbs onto the bed with you and sits with his legs cross-crossed before bringing you into his lap. “There we go, that’s my girl. So strong for me! Can you eat some more? Or are you thirsty?” He holds up a sippy cup with some handles on the side and you’re able to hold it by yourself but that doesn’t stop him from holding it for you anyway. You nod and point to the sippy and he smiles, his ears wiggling happily as he nods. “Sure cutie, open up for dada.”

Ben gives you the sippy and you hold onto it as you take a few long gulps. A breakdown is a lot of hard work! And it’s left you parched. But like mentioned earlier, Ben saw that coming a mile away and has thought of every single thing you’d need. He rests his head onto yours and plays with your hair softly. “You don’t have to tell me what’s going right now if you’re not ready but know I’d still like to know when you are. Not because I’m nosy but I want to support you love bug. I wanna make sure I’m helping you the same way you help me, princess.”

“M sorry dada..”

“No you don’t have to be sorry for anything baby. You are allowed to have your privacy and your private feelings, I just want to know how you are so I know how to help is all. You’re not in trouble at all baby and if you ever need anything and you know I mean anything I’d be more than happy to give it to you.” He kisses your forehead and hugs you, setting the sippy cup down. “If anyone is bothering you I’ll get rid of them without a thought, if theres something I did we can talk it through, if life just seems more unfair than usual then you can always come to me for comfort.”

He looks at you with a sweet smile, “we’re friends at the end of the day aren’t we sweetie?” This melts your heart and you nod before giving him a huge tight hug. He’s your everything but it’s comforting to know he’s still your friend at the end of the day.

“Fankies Bemmie ♡"

He chuckles and ruffles your hair. “Of course, cutie.”

Ben looks out of the window for a moment and an idea strikes his mind.

“Hey, Y/N”

“Mm?” You say as you look to him with a puzzled face.

“Wanna do something fun?” Somehow in those void-like eyes if his theres a twinkle in them. This is definitely worth checking out, so you nod at him with a smile.

“Alrighty then let’s go my little Zelda!” He gets up from the bed, carrying you bridal style as he heads for the door of the room. Not forgetting your snacks, sippy and a blanket he opens the door. What you don’t know is that he also grabbed a secret item without you looking. He makes his way through the corridors of the mansion to the front door, everyone not really paying either of you attention. The only people who really acknowledge you are Toby and his own little who just came back from outside themselves. They’re both giggling and Tony is knelt by his littles feet, helping them take their rain boots off. But he’s struggling just a tad, his tics can get in the way sometimes.

“Hey Ben! Hey Y/N!”

You wave a small hello and Toby’s little gives a big wave back at you which makes you smile. Ben bounces you lightly as he nods in Toby’s direction. “Sup dude. Looks like you guys had a good time.”

Toby finally gets the second boot off and starts taking off their raincoat. “Oh yeah it’s…it’s raining like cra-crazy outside but..but it’s great!” He hangs the raincoat up on the coat rack and grabs his littles hand. “Have…have fun guys!” Ben gives him a wave before opening the door.

“Thanks dude also you forgot to take your boots off go clean up before Slender kills you for real this time.”

“Oh shoot th-anks man.”

With that you and Ben are out the door and he walks to the front porch. He sets your snacks and sippy down before sitting down with you in his lap again. He wraps you both in the blanket he brought and shows you the mystery item: an iPod he’s had since 2010 with some wired headphones. “You feel like watching the rain with your daddy and listening to some music, princess?” You smile and nod as he puts one earbud into your ear but then pause, looking up to him and tugging at his shirt.

“But dada, I thought you no like water cuz uhm wha happen you-“

He laughed and goes to ruffle your hair, “I drowned in a lake, baby, not a puddle.” He says with a playful tone. You giggle back and snuggle into him as he cradles you just like before. He scrolls through his saved songs before landing on some random nightcore song he has saved, one with heavy beats, guitar riffs and only the loudest of screams. You couldn’t ask for more from your cringe gamer boy caregiver. You both sit there watching the rain eating snacks and listening to music. Rainy days were always your favorite. You remind yourself to fee lucky and thankful to have such a loving caregiver like Ben.

you mentioned a blind snake who's an absolute sweetie and im so curious now! what's their name? what are they like? any fun facts about them?

Oh, I'd be happy to tell you about him! His name is Daredevil and he's a Western diamondback, he was born in a zoo breeding program in 2019 I think. He was actually born with no eyes, just a random genetic quirk of luck, and we got him so he could have expert care.

He's a delight, such a little sweetheart! Western diamondbacks can be some of the hardest rattlesnakes to work with but Daredevil's awesome. He needed to be assist-fed for a few months while he was figuring out How to Snake after he was born, but rattlers have heat pits so he adapted quickly. All that extra handling as a baby means he's super chill and really adapted to people, though.

Even still, he's not a pet, and we only ever handle him with hooks. But he's very chill and sweet and just all-around awesome. Aside from minor enclosure modifications (like making sure to keep the layout the same, only using decor with round edges, and not giving him super tall branches to climb on) you'd never even be able to tell he's blind.

Daredevil is probably one of everyone's favorite snakes at the lab, we're all super attached to him. He's endearing and so sweet and he has a curious, mild-mannered personality. We all love him!

hello my loves !! i wanted to give y'all some insight on what's been going on in my mind palace lately. there's a lot...so...cmon, take a walk w me...and maybe bring some snacks.

ੈ♡˳ first and foremost ! my work has received a lot more attention recently and i am so excited. with actual tears in my eyes, im happy to report that i surpassed 1,000 followers the other day. i am at a loss for words...just...stuck in a perma-state of disbelief.

im sending out the biggest thank you to everyone who has supported me, who's interacted with my work, to the lovely friends ive made though this account and to the heartbreakingly beautiful anime that brought me here in the first place. i am genuinely in awe...overwhelmed, even...i didn't expect any of this to happen when i started this blog and i am forever indebted to all of you for getting me here. im actively fighting off the inevitable surge of imposter syndrome as i type this out...i just love y'all so fucking much. this community means the world to me and i wanna scream at the top of my lungs in order to demonstrate my deepest appreciation for each and every one of y'all.

ੈ♡˳ secondly ! a message for my little angel babies, my day one followers; thank you for taking a chance on me. for watching me grow. for sticking around as i worked to get better at writing. im sure a lot of you started following me for my gamer!bf sukuna series...trust me, i love him and i know y'all do too. but i feel like my writing is heading in a different direction...and with a heavy heart, i'm absolutely gutted when i say that i am taking a pause on that series. i am forever grateful for the support and may return to him soon, though i cannot promise that. i owe so much of what my account is now to that series and i will never forget that.

for everyone who joined me as i delved into dark/dead dove content, thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me a safe space to explore different forms of story-telling. my choso fic was the first stepping stone and then i skipped every other stone on the path and jumped head first into the deep end with my dead dove gojo fic...i deeply appreciate all the positive feedback i received on both of those. after posting them, i realized that i am very into writing dark content. i know that taboo themes/dark content/dead dove subject matter isn't for everyone and i understand people's apprehension in regards to it. but with that being said, i will be moving forward with publishing darker content.

i did a poll asking y'all what kind of content you enjoy. a good chunk of people said long form fics (which is great, cause i do too !! mommy needs plot). so, i am migrating away from one shot writing. both because i've been thinking about it for awhile and because y'all are into longer stories, as well. but fear not, i will still write shorter stuff along with headcannons, drabbles, etc...it just won't be the main focus of my blog anymore.

ੈ♡˳ now, time for the big reveal ! perhaps it's a bit anticlimactic, but bear with me...

im so excited to announce that i have two new series coming ! it will be a dark, modern!au featuring choso (with a few other special guests) and a dead dove sukuna series.

i'm almost finished with the outlines, and have fully completed the theme layout + mood boards for both works. i hope to get the first few chapters wrapped up in the next couple weeks. if you want to be tagged in either of these (or both), just leave a comment or send me a message !

(also !! i may or may not be cooking up a dark medieval au series in collaboration with another writer on here...so be on the lookout for that hehe)

while i take breaks from writing my two series, i'll be working through my requests ! so if you've sent one in, i promise i will get to it, unless i literally cannot think of a good way to write it (im only human, im so sorry). also, im sure we already knew this, but im a slowww writer. i wish i could churn content out quick as fuck but i am too hypercritical of myself…it's both a blessing and a curse, honestly.

As soon as I read that will was going to a party I KNEW he was going to trigger nico with alcohol. It was really sweet though how he just kept confessing his love to nico, I couldn't keep giggling at that part

so sorry it took so long for me to respond to this!!! at first i wanted to wait till i was able to make a pinterest board, but then i couldn't really find exactly what i wanted (but still made a board - here's the link!) so i decided i'd just describe it:

it’s a penthouse, and right now it’s veryyyy empty. they moved into it just before will’s next semester started so not much time to decorate!! they kept all like the basic furniture, so i do think they have a sort of living room connected to the kitchen - hold up, now i’m realizing i sorta based that layout off my uncles house. don’t know why i did that but!! we’re going with it. so they have two couches in the “living room” and a tv, leading to a kitchen with the generic appliances + a kitchen island - then i think that there’s a hallway with doors to one of the bathrooms, the guest room, and the studio, and then the master bedroom is also like. right across from the kitchen. if im even making any sense. i actually don’t know what a penthouse looks like so im just going off of pinterest vibes💯💯 anyway i think that eventually, they’ll also def have a lot of (fake) plants (bc lord knows they don’t actually have time to water and take care of plants), and LOTSS OF BLANKETS. i think that like almost every time they go to a target or smth to get smth they actually need, they walk out of the store with at least one blanket. they’re all over the couches, the beds, the chairs, idk why but i just want their apartment to be very very cozy :) aside from that, will 100% has his record collection moved to their room, with a few hanging from the living room- there’s definitely shelves of a bunch of awards or posters and things like that - A PHOTO WALL TOO!! definitely a photo wall. i also think that both nico and will are very messy, at least when they’re busy with something (and they always are) so every countertop and table and desk is filledddd with clutter. like so much. papers and textbooks and headphones and laptops they’re everywhere.

i realize it’s actually really hard to explain my vision for their apartment, which is funny bc i have a very specific layout in my head - and also one for nico’s apartment in so american btw!! so maybe sometime ill figure out how to draw a floor plan just so i can show yall what im thinking, but in the end, that’s the general vibe of it!!

@kissohee - its so hard to describe her with just three words! but i would say chaotic, lovable, and genuine. i never feel stress when talking to her and we've grown comfortable with one another quite quickly. i think we just have had this connection from the beginning and she just made me so so comfortable. she's also so loveable like im gonna hold her hand fr she's so cute. and she's so genuine, i always feel that she means everything that she says and it makes me even more comfy with her. she's also just like me we're both so random and we both talk a lot so its the perfect pace for me. the convos are always so fast like idk if ppl would be able to keep up with us and how much we switch topics LMAO but yeah! i hope that we just get closer and closer in the future and that she's always happy <3 (also open-minded would be a rlly good one for her but only her and i know why and that's the way its gonna stay LMAO)

@bubblegyu00 - energetic, humorous, and chatty,, our convos are extremely fast paced and go on for the entire day. i'm always laughing at smth or we're always losing it over smth someone did (usually a zb1 member or nicho tbh). she's energetic and keeps up with my pace and i do the same with hers. she also makes me laugh which is why i said she's humorous. we're always going on and on abt the same 3 things yet we never get tired of it like its gonna eat every single time PLS. Smaller update today and probably for the rest of the week until the weekend (work). Beat the Sun Temple. They really gave Eiji a skill with Judas in its name in the same dungeon he goes crazy in like 3 times (did not buy his kidnapping story). Eiji confidently having a definitive answer to those last few riddles in the temple were also a super red flag if the rest of his behavior wasn't already to that point. Shoutout to Ayana for being the only person to actually step in while he attacked a kid and more importantly for being so loud that Aria had no energy to blow out my eardrums today. Another banger in the OST (I love the energy and desperation in the song). Mu might not be good at a lot but she can definitely sing! Annoying dungeon layout aside, Kuchinashi was the most sympathetic musician so far and the song lyrics reinforced that. I'm super curious on how terrible the Eiji reveal will be regarding them. I like the little dynamics between everyone. Mifue and Ayana's friendliness, everyone being mean to Kotaro, Shogo being the only person to pick up on Kotono's discomfort. It's neat! Not that I expect romance to really be a thing in the game since it hasn't been so far (which I am happy about) but Ayana and Suzuna are probably the most likely yuri options if there would be any just based on Suzuna's vibes and Ayana's totally normal and justified opinions on men. Speaking of yuri, I was sad Aria and Mu didn't get to talk to each other at all. No character eps unlocked after the temple except one Eiji ep which wasn't much so that's about it for now. Hopefully, I can do the aquarium tomorrow! Been waiting for Kotono's arc. Misc thought: The character's weapons definitely relate to their trauma/personality. Eiji and Mifue's seem the most obvious but I wonder how the one's who haven't gotten any of their backstories revealed will relate to theirs. Thank you for your time!

The Sun Temple layout is so funny, the worst to ever do it, but at least Eiji is there. He's a super strong character, who's basic skill is AoE and can more easily knock enemies airborne (especially compared to Kotaro's garbage accuracy). I'm glad they realised in 2 that knockdown skills arent fun and removed them.

Onboro is a favourite in the game's ost, Mu screams really good, and the intersection of all the Overdose-added character stories are very fun.

The dynamics in this game are really good, and you're able to use them to pick up on details about their out-of-mobius selves, it's So Good.

hi anon! im glad you like the mod. yeah i dont blame you for missing the old face lol, i took one look at it in textools when the patch dropped and went "wtf did they do to my boy... 😢" i think it depends on what you mean by "getting his old face back":

-if you want to start with the 7.0 base face, you could probably open it up in blender next to his old face and use the sculpt tool to physically sculpt his mesh to be closer to what it used to be, but i think past the lips there isn't too much else on the actual geometry to change— maybe his nose and jawline? but to me it feels like a lot of the change also happened to his normal maps, which are the textures that add extra shading detail and volume to the face. the old textures cant be ported over because the new mesh isn't laid out for them, buuuut im aware of a tool being developed currently in the ffxiv loose texture compiler for automatically transforming the old textures to match the new mesh layout. will that work for thancred's unique face? i'm not sure, but it could be worth a try— im fairly certain his unique sculpt is an edited version of one of the male midlander faces, so once that specific face is supported in the tool, it might work. if not, you can always manually adjust the new normal map while referencing the other one. -if you want to start with the OLD 6.58 base face, i believe there is a blender script going around (i saw it in the textools discord last iirc?) for converting old face sculpts to new ones. this is necessary because the new faces have QUITE a few new bones in them that need to be rigged, or else the face will not animate. from there, you MIGHT have to convert some of the old textures as well, but i'm not 100% sure, i think it depends on how well they work at baseline for 7.0. i know there's still a legacy skin shader in the game for older faces since not all of them have been updated yet, so you might be able to switch it to that so that the old textures still work. if that sounds like A Lot, uh... i dont blame you 😅ive been learning xiv modding for about two years ish now so ive got a lil bit of know-how under my belt, but if you want somewhere good to start, i would recommend joining the textools discord, there are multiple channels there for people to ask questions about how modding works, how to mod specific things, lots of tutorials, etc, and im sure therell be something in there to help you along. buuuuut in the meantime, i HAVE seen two other existing mods so far on XMA that do both of the things i mentioned before: https://www.xivmodarchive.com/modid/109670 this one seems to be a very good version of the first fix, where they went in and sculpted his new 7.0 face to be closer to the old one to a higher extent than i did, with his lips, jaw, and nose tweaked. it doesnt have heterochromia or scruff like mine does but i think you should theoretically be able to do that easily— feel free to send another ask if you want me to explain how i did it on my mod. https://www.xivmodarchive.com/modid/109665 this one, meanwhile, is the second fix— they ported the old face model over the new one. it has stubble and no heterochromia but again, if you want to change either of those, id be happy to explain how i did it. i have not tested either of these myself so i have no clue how well these work in-game but im sure they work fine!! i hope either of those help you out and if not i wish you good luck on your modding journey.... esp learning blender ^^" its a pain in the ass at first but trust me it feels really really good once youve figured stuff out!
