Man I wonder where the leader of the fear realm could've gone, it's alMOST LIKE NEVIN HAS AN
#had to re-edit the image real quick because the original edit was from a post I made about Drew years ago#and while the Drew thing is becoming less and less likely. Nevin havinv one has basically been canon since#someone mentioned Greg's (was it Britney's) aura being familiar in s2ch1. ive been putting together a list of every line#that points to Nevin's aura throughout the whole thing (most from s2ch1 but then s2ch10 came out and it was really canon at that point)#but clearly i'm running out of time to say ''i fucking called it'' before it's explicitly stated and i dont want to be in another situation#where somebody else will beat me to a theory and me posting anything about it will seem like copying them. sorry about that btw i had#thought i had already mentioned theorizing that nevin was possessed by a demon in that old theory i made but i had forgotten that one was#super old and was about sigma. so no copying there i just got extremely paranoid there was a mention of a cult and i was like ''nuh uh#that's way too specific and out there of a detail to end up in both our theories'' and i forgot the rest of my super old post was outdated#as hell. and echos had gone ''yeah they're so similar!'' and i took their word for it but now i'm realizing they were probably just trying#to be supportive. so yeah no copying there i was just beaten to the punch of saying something. but i will NOT back down from the aura shit#because i have been calling that shit FROM THE START or at least since i started reading ibvs back when ch20 came out.#also not backing down from saying chris was the worse friend because these past few chapters are the first time isaac has done anything tha#could knowingly upset chris meanwhile chris has. let edward drag isaac to the lair after isaac said edward would beat him up. chose not to#believe edward was holding the secrets over their heads because 'it was something isaac had said' and then immediately distrusted edward in#the next chapter because a random person he didn't know said to steal a book (might i mention how that entire scene proves chris' lack of#development and refusal to take responsibility because it perfectly alludes to when chris had brought those fireworks into his old school#and makes me wonder if charlie has actually gotten him in trouble with his past schools or if he's still just not taking responsibility#and if him following nevin to the woods to test out their powers is an extension of ''if something bad happens its not my fault''#like seriously this man would bring a mysterious suitcase onto a plane if he's told to). uh what was i talking about agai#anyway on a related note my mental state has only gotten worse since i left tumblr and the habit of thinking about chris instead of sleepin#or doing schoolwork has not stopped. so i was still failing for a while and might graduate now but am still staying away from tumblr.#so yeah this was a little update and im not going to linger this time im just going to leave tumblr again right after hitting post#addendum because i just can't let things go. and was thinking about chris again. i don't think his lack of development is because of bad#writing (anymore. i used to.). instead i'm certain his character arc is going to continue into him following someone (nevin probably) into#doing something really bad. and then he'll finally get actual consequences and go 'oh shit i fucked up real bad this time'#if you think that theory is reaching too far into the future you should hear mine about isaac dying at the end lmao

my job wants me gone so bad , like 1 month in and they have already brought out their no effort in communication and gaslighting full force, and telling me much of the work I am doing is wrong and accusing me of not doing the basic things like stocking, that I try so hard and am sure to keep up with being the only person working at a time? like if they are going to do this at least do it while i am on the clock..
#this morning i kept apologizing for doing what i was told and trained to do and the lady sent so many messages of 'well I don't remember#telling you' over n over like ??? so then i had to apologize for her not remembering which like no one does that#to that extent unless they are trying to affect you negatively and or try to get you to say something they can use against you#like ive been abused enough i know how it goes 🙃 ??#and then they are like 'why would you be stupid and put in so much effort when you work the busiest shifts of the week?'#when like literally ive got a good eye for design and decent with sales so like i will touch a merchandise make it more presentable#and suddenly the next people coming in will be drawn to the item to buy like im their little magical willy wonka like they said they wanted#on their original job listing#and ofc there is no mention of how the floor is no longer just perpetual dirt mud to slather around bc i actually cleaned the floor#instead of doing there method of just mopping by putting a mop back in dirty mop water.. like you can visibly see the floor crusted when it#is like that and i wont even start on the dust#nor any mention to how the backroom hasnt remained cluttered from extra my extra tidying or severely cluttered by all the work i did#the last two days#just how i have consistently done a bad job not even keeping up with the basics apparently this entire time 😐#anyways 3 hours of my day Wasted and unpaid from how much they made me cry like there is so much more bot mentioned i hate itf

Currently I have so many bg3 saves bc I refuse to delete my old ones that will likely never be finished (first ever gameplays, not optimized, everytime I open one I get overwhelmed and stop), but also because I keep making new games with the specific purpose of romancing a certain companion, seeing special dialog, doing a specific style of run, or getting an achievement on steam.
#simon says#currently the 4 that I have right now are fun but I wanna do a new one bc I like making characters and being silly#so far I have:#sad bardlock that was originally going to be a no-romance 'everyone's worst ending' run but then I finally decided to romance shadowheart#since the two of them absolutely give off sad lesbian vibes and just seem to make eachother better#because a doom and gloom bardlock constantly saying 'that sounds lovely :)' to anything shar related quickly made Shadowheart happy#next up is big hulking non-lolthsworn drow who is a cleric of Mystra#because I want to see how a cleric of mystra works with Gale and so far it has SUCH fun interactions#... Jak'ith. my gith jack-of-all-trades romancing Lae'zel#i would be a liar if I didn't say doing a legit jack of all trades run as a gith romancing Lae'zel wasn't the most fun out of all my saves#the interactions are so fucking funny I love it#like I highly recommend a gith lae'zel romance because it's so much fun just bouncing back and forth in dialog#and I got REALLY into stealing after playing Jak'ith so I made a duegar thief who is gonna eventually be a druid#and im gonna make her an exclusively Halsin romance bc I saw some of the duegar dialog options with him and I thought it would be funny#since my last Wyll romance went south (i had hubris in honor mode and lost it all) and I have still yet to romance Karlach or Minthara#those 3 are on my list for characters to make and play bc I haven't explored those routes yet#i also want to try doing a true goody two shoes durge run and a true evil durge run#obviously the evil run will probably be the Minthara romance#also on this list I am ignoring Astarion bc I have romanced him twice now in my two old durge runs so unless I can think of something unique#then im not doing anything with him for a while#well except playing as him#i got an old playthrough with him I should continue bc I wanted to see what his origin stuff would be like in act 3#at some point I do want to origin run all the origin characters bc it sounds really cool#but I want to get a good idea of their character arcs before I do#also for the achievements:#Jak'ith is the jack of all trades no Withers help achievement#My bardlock is the busking 100 gold one#and I want to do a punch drunk build at some point#which would probably be a monk bc of the drunken master robes you can get#but yeah I will probably end up with like 8 or more saves in the end

obviously the actual stories of the ttrpg adventures are interesting and also the point of them.. but i love the extra worldbuilding in them. reading about the events in the autumn falls.............very good!!!!
#da#darpg#da ttrpg#personal#current project: while i know there's a fauna & flora page on the wiki im making one of my own (+mineral)#going through everything with the finest of toothcombs#im starting with the ttrpg and im not even through the core rulebook (let alone the extra adventures) and ive got stuff not on the wiki#not much. just little things like.. mahogany#.......which is kinda surprising to not have on the list on the wiki because it's not exclusive to the ttrpg#like the ttrpg has it as the original material of the blackened heartwood staff but so does the staff's lore in dao. but whatever#im also trying to decide on things like.. if something is described in relation to something else does that mean the latter also exists#eg: swift salve smells like peppermint. does that mean that peppermint exists?#(in this case it does because the dao lore says it's made of peppermint. but if i only had the ttrpg description what would i do?)#so when mabari are described as 'huge mastiffs'..........do mastiffs exist????#like that's not even a simile. that's just saying they ARE mastiffs

Slashers Reacting to their S/O trying to "escape" while sleep walking
Inspired by this post by @amomentsescape . Go check them out! Fell in love with their post and just HAD to write about it myself I am working on a few requests and original ideas, so if you've requested something know that it is (slowly) in the works!)
posting this early to show I'm still active! let me know if you want a part two with other slashers, im already working on one for the sinclair bros but check my character list to see which others i should add! ive added a few new characters to my list aswell :3
CW: Implications of abuse, kidnapping, and other unhealthy relationship dynamics
GN Reader!
Characters include Michael Myers, Thomas Hewitt, Brahms Heelshire, Billy Loomis, and Stu Macher!
You’ve been with your slasher for a while now, trapped living with them in their respective homes. You have no intentions of leaving as Stockholm Syndrome has long kicked in. But right as your slasher lets you sleep without the chains, your brain decides that it’s a perfect time to start sleepwalking…
Michael Myers (Halloween ‘78)
Michael is up the second you are. He never truly sleeps, so the moment your body starts to shift out of bed his eyes are open and watching you intensely. He stopped handcuffing you to the bed post a few nights ago, but he still doesn’t trust you to not leave. Before you can walk towards the bedroom door, he’s already infront of you and grabbing your wrists tightly.
He doesn’t care that you’re asleep. When you didn’t react to him grabbing your wrists, he tilted his head. It takes him a few moments to realize that you’re still asleep. He grabs you by the shoulders and aggressively shakes you awake, startling the hell out of you. “What the fuck!?” You wake up to see Michael glaring down at you menacingly. He is pissed.
You can’t plead with him. Your wrists are back to being cuffed to the bed and he doesn’t let you leave the bedroom. It doesn’t matter that you were asleep, you still tried to leave him. You cry and beg, swearing up and down that you love him but all you get back is an icy glare. Any trust you thought you had with him is gone for the next few months. He loves you Y/N, no matter if you like it or not.
Stares at you through the night. The first couple of nights after your sleepwalking incident, he can’t close his eyes. Ends up just staring at you for the rest of the night, not really sure how to feel about what you’ve done. He won’t say it, but his feelings are really hurt. Why can’t you just do what he wants?
Thomas Hewitt (Texas Chainsaw Remake)
He wakes up alone in bed. He has to get up extra early for his daily chores, so he’s used to see you by his side, still fast asleep. When you aren’t there, he starts to panic. He’s tossing the room frantically hoping to find you, all while fearing the worst. He should’ve listen to his family when they said not to unchain you.
He finds you at the front door, staring at it absentmindedly. He rushes towards you and grabs hold of you, which wakes you up. You scream in confusion which makes him scream. He’s a blubbering mess afterwards while you try to explain what sleepwalking is and how you weren’t consciously trying to leave
He believes you, but he’s still scared that you might leave. He installs a lock on the bedroom door and keeps the key hidden away during the night so you don’t wander off again. He’s worried that you might end up hurting yourself walking around the house, so you can’t coax him out of the lock.
He hugs you extra tight at night. He was always a cuddler, but now he’s nearly smothering you every night in fear that he might wake up alone again. Don’t fight it, it’ll only make him hug you tighter.
Brahms Heelshire (The Boy)
Crashes the fuck out once he realizes you aren’t in bed with him. He’s running around the mansion frantically looking for you in every nook and cranny, getting more and more worked up. Probably starts crying and/or screaming after not being able to find you quickly.
He finds you in the garden, eventually. He hates going outside. He hates you going outside even more. It’s dead of night when you wake up to Brahms incoherently screaming at you while being dragged back inside. You’re so confused while Brahms is just having a full on meltdown, accusing you of trying to leave him.
You have to wait for him to calm down before explaining what happened. He's screaming so loud, sobbing and stomping back and forth the hallway as you sit on the ground, half-dazed. You try to talk to him but he literally can't hear you over his tantrum.
Clings to you. After his break down, you explain what happened-- "I was just sleepwalking, Brahms." He isn't completely convinced but he accepts the explanation on the condition that you never do it again, which you try to say you can't really control it but- oh well. It doesn't matter, as Brahms is always by your side now, holding your hand or waist or the hem of your shirt while you go on with the chores. You never have a moment alone now, and probably never will again for a good while. Do you even want to?
Billy Loomis (Scream)
Another certified crash out. He wakes up one night expecting you beside him, only to find you gone. Immediately tears the house apart looking for you. And when he cant find you? He snaps. Thinks you've left him. Escaped his tight grasp. Destroys everything, grabs his knife, and goes to look for you. If he cant have you then he's going to kill you.
He finds you standing on the porch. Looking back, he doesnt know how you didnt wake up from the noise he was making. He puts the knife to your throat, threatening you until he realizes you were kinda just...not responding. Waves his hand in front of your face and realizes you are asleep and just stares at you. How the fuck did you even get past the locks anyways?
So pissed at you. Its not your fault but it doesnt matter. You should subconsciously want to be near him at all times, sleepwalking or not. He drags you back to the bedroom, gripping your arm so tightly that it wakes you up. You're confused on whats happening, but Billy ignores your questions before tossing you on the bed and forcing you to go back to sleep.
He starts tying you to the bed. He doesn't let you have a say in it, either. He won't say it, but waking up and seeing you gone was one of the very limited moments in his life when he felt fear. And he doesn't intend to ever feel that way again.
Stu Macher (Scream)
Where'd you go, Y/N? He wakes up without you under him, and is immediately confused but not worried. You must have needed to go to the bathroom! Still, he feels a weird flutter in his chest as he gets up to check on you.
He finds you in the hallway just standing there, like a ghost. You startle awake because he screams, not expecting to see you in such a creepy way. He laughs immediately after, finding it hilarious that you managed to scare him!
He has a tight grip on you as he guides you back to bed. You notice as you both lay down that he clings just a bit more to you than usual, so much that you almost feel suffocated. He won't say it aloud, but he doesn't like the idea of you leaving the bed, of leaving him.
He starts laying on top of you during the nights, as a way to hopefully stop you from leaving the room. It works for the most part, and Stu loves the new-found closeness, even if you have to give up a bit of air at night. If you ask, he'll try to shift his weight to one side so he doesn't completely cut off your airflow, but he's reluctant to get off of you completely. What if you hurt yourself walking around?
Freaks out every time you move. Ever since that incident, Stu is hyper focused on you when you sleep. Every time you slightly shift during the night, Stu is locked on you, waiting to see if you try to get up or not. He doesn't want you to leave, y/n, and if that means having to sacrifice some sleep to make sure you stay, that's alright with him.

Hello! Ive been binging poly!141 and I keep coming back to your writing for my fix (because by now its basically an addiction😅)
I had this idea that the 141 are together with a civilian reader. And civilian reader works in retail, part time, and is mostly at home. Normally, they would be home by the time their boys came home, welcoming them with open arms, a hot plate of food, and time to rest and relax. But this time, the 141 get home early and realize where reader works: Walmart (or equivalent). Reader has been keeping this a secret cause they know its not cute like a coffee shop or cool. Its just their job. And now the most important men in their life know. Im thinking the 141 found out because they went grocery shopping and happened to come across reader or something similar to that.
I work at Walmart and it sucks🥲 thought that maybe something like this might help😅
Tysm, nonny! So happy to hear you like the writing. I hope this does your idea justice. (Walmart doesn't have stores in the UK, but they own ASDA.)
Also, thank you for my first request! 🫶🏻🫶🏻
pure fluff, bad accents (per usual)
Your boys find out you work part-time at ASDA on a random rainy Thursday in March.
You don't really need a job. All four of your lovers are officers with the British army. Prior to you, they all lived in base barracks. Prior to you, they lived fairly Spartan existences. Prior to you, most of their income sat in the bank, quietly accumulating.
They have plenty of money saved up that they love using to spoil you, when you let them. You know that if you asked, they'd give you everything, but you draw the line about asking them for an allowance like some tradwife. You want some pocket money of your own. Thus, the part-time job at the ASDA in town.
You're a people person, good at handling big personalities. You need to be to keep up with your boys. Between John's need for control, Simon's stoic dominance, Johnny's aggressive enthusiasm, and Kyle's blinding charisma, you aren't some shrinking violet. Within a week of your hire, your manager watches how you weather a nasty piece of work trying to demand concessions you aren't permitted to give and immediately puts you in customer service.
You're nearly unflappable in the face of frustrated pensioners and harried parents and entitled young professionals. Over and over, you're the one they call when a customer is going spare. Which is how your boys find out about your job.
They've been deployed for over two weeks, and you have no idea when they'll return. John had originally said they'd be gone for at least a month, so you aren't expecting them home any time soon. However, they'd come home much earlier than anyone thought, and they wanted to surprise you.
You're always so good about making the house feel like a home, with your bright smile and warm laughter, your home cooked food and soft touches in decor. You make them feel like people, not weapons, and they want to return the favor. This last deployment had been hard, and all four of your boys were missing your sweet voice and tender care. They wanted to show you that they loved and cared for you the way you always showed your love and care for them.
It was Johnny's suggestion to prep a meal for you as both a surprise and a thank you. After debrief, they pile into the car and decide to stop at ASDA for everything they need before heading home to surprise you. It's John who causes the code call.
You hear Susan's voice over the store-wide address system. "We could use a little Sunshine in the floral department." That's your cue. You finish with the pensioner at your till as Jacob, your manager, comes over to relieve you.
You take a deep breath and square your shoulders. In your experience, a Sunshine call in floral is a man angry the store doesn't have the fancy arrangements listed on the website. You wish the signage on the site would be more clear that the beautiful bouquets are online orders only. It would save you having to explain why the offers in store are so limited.
You hear him before you see him, smokey voice grumbling, "But if they show the bloody thing on the site as available, you should have it hear." You'd recognize the voice anywhere. He's not angry, not really, but Susan doesn't know that. Add in the sheer size of him, and Simon looming over his shoulder, it's no wonder she called for support.
You have never wanted to walk away from a situation as much as you want to right now, but before you can make an escape, Susan notices you over John's shoulder. Her little wave is enough for your men to notice, and they turn as one to see you coming towards them. Immediately their demeanor shifts. Simon's back sags as though his strings were cut, leaving him loose-limbed. John stands a little straighter, chin up as if to impress you. They've both broken out in smiles, though Simon's are only evidenced by the laugh lines you know to look for. It's only as you get close do they zero in on the badge on your shirt.
"I've got this, Susan," you say to your co-worker. "Jacob's on my till. Can you cover?"
Susan wrings her hands. "Are you sure you don't want me to stay and-"
"They're nothing I can't handle," you tell her, cutting off her worried rambles. There's a cheeky glint in your eye as you flick your gaze at your men. You clap your hands together and say, "Right, let's get this settled, then."
Susan takes one quick look between you and the now slightly less intimidating men and heads towards the front of the store.
Once she's out of earshot, John's face breaks into a frown. "What're you doing here, love?" He glances at your name on your chest again. "You work here?" He sounds almost hurt by the revelation. You can tell Simon wants to reach for you, and the only thing stopping him is you working.
You hear heavy footfalls behind you as Johnny's Scottish lilt reaches your ears. "Och, Cap! Ye said ye'd only be a moment. Gaz and I had a hell of a time getting the trolley on its lift ta find ye. How hard is it to buy bon..." His question dies on his lips as you turn around. "Bonnie?" He, too, sounds hurt to find you working here.
You can see Kyle over Johnny's shoulder, confusion written across his features. This is not how you wanted your boys to find out about your job, if you ever wanted them to actually find out. You thought maybe you'd surprise them with tickets to Hereford FC's opening game in a few months. And if they asked how you afforded them, you could handle this conversation then, but it's out of your hands now.
And as much as you don't want to have this conversation, especially not in the middle of the floral department, you can't stop the wide grin at seeing your boys again, home and whole.
"Hi, boys," you say, opening your arms. Disappointed he might be about finding you here, Johnny's no fool. He immediately steps into your embrace, and the others quickly follow suit. You're swallowed up by the smell and feel of them. The hug lasts one minute. Then two. Then they all slowly step back.
You can see the questions and cut them off before they get started. "I have another three hours before I'm off. We can talk at home, and I'll tell you anything you want to know."
John nods first. He recognizes your tone. You won't let them derail you for answers now, and they would be wasting their breath to try. "You heard the lady, lads. Let's get home."
They start to walk away when you tease, "Captain? Was there a reason you were arguing with Susan about the flowers?"
He halts his steps and turns to you, flush creeping up his neck. He brings his hand up to rub it as he says, "Er, I, we, wanted to get ya something nice, but they don't have the same ones as online."
You melt a little, watching the way your men shift nervously behind their captain. You smile softly and reach over, plucking a bouquet of rainbow poms from the rack. "These are what I usually get for myself when you're away."
John takes them gently from your hand and passes them to Gaz to put in the trolley. "We'll see you at home, love," he murmurs, leaning over briefly to kiss your cheek. Simon kisses the top of your head, fabric brushing your hair. Johnny pulls you in for another bruising hug and kisses your other cheek. Gaz puts his hands on your waist, drinking in the sight of you, before taking your hands in his and kissing your palms.
You watch them leave, wondering how you'll make it through the rest of your shift.
Three hours and fifteen minutes later, you cross the threshold of your shared home to the most delicious scents wafting from the kitchen. After slipping your shoes off next to the piles of boots at the door, you follow your nose back to the kitchen and the spread laid out on the large wood-topped island. There's a roast and mushy peas and mashed potatoes and stewed carrots and battered cod and crisps and spinach all surrounding the flowers you'd suggested, nestled in the vase you love most, the Caithness one Johnny'd bought you on your first trip with them to Scotland.
At the table, your men sit, plates made for everyone, waiting on you. They've changed since you saw them. Gone are any traces of fatigues and tactical gear. Instead they're all in casual civvies, truly home for the first time in nearly three weeks. Simon stands as you come in and pulls out your chair, smile on his scarred lips. "Come sit, doll," he tells you, not quite an order.
You look quickly around. "Let me change," you say, tugging at your uniform top. "I won't be but a minute." You back out of the room before they can stop you. You hurry to your bedroom, pulling your top off as you go. Once behind the door, you slip from your trousers into comfortable leggings and a large jumper, one of Kyle's you think.
By the time you make it back to the kitchen, your men are more than a little antsy. Simon's smile is a little strained, Johnny is fidgeting, Kyle keeps glancing between you and John, and John is staring at you. Your chair is still out. He waves a hand at it, and gently says, "Come sit, love." It's couched as request, but you know a command from your lover when you hear it.
You take your seat at the table. "Listen-" you start, but John cuts you off.
"Are we not providing for ya, love?" You see the hurt in his eyes, how much it bothers him to think he, they, aren't doing enough for you.
"Oh, John, dear, no!" you reply, putting your hand over his on the table. "It's not that at all."
"Then what?" Simon asks.
You look at them all, the expectant faces waiting to hear how they failed you. "I get restless sometimes. I love you, and I love our life. I'm happy to take care of the house and make sure you're all fed after a long day. But I wasn't built for sitting around doing nothing. I like people; being home on my own all day can get lonely. Especially when you're deployed. I also like having my own pocket money."
John opens his mouth, and you know what he's about to say, so you continue. "I know you'd give me any money I need or want, but I like having my money. Money I earned myself." You look around at them, willing them to understand. "It's only part time. Helps me keep a little busy and have a little extra to spoil you and me with."
Johnny is frowning, but you see Kyle, head cocked, looking at you as a puzzle. "I think I understand," he says softly. "You were making you way just fine before us, and you gave up everything for us."
At his words, the crease between John's brow deepens, and you're sure he's remembering the job you had, that you'd somewhat enjoyed, when you'd first met them. You'd been working at RAF Lakenheath, living in a cozy flat in Cambridge, near The Backs, when the 141 had been coming through the base after an op. An injury had put Kyle in the med center for a week, and while he could have been transported to Hereford once stable, Laswell had worked it out for the whole team to have some R&R near the base.
You'd quite literally run into John one day, rushing to your office, after which he suggested lunch as an apology. You quickly became close with all four, smitten with them from the start. In turn, they fell hard for you. They wooed you over the course of several weeks, stopping through Lakenheath on deployments to spend some time with you. Six months in and you were completely gone on all four of them, so when they'd asked you to move to Hereford, you did without ever looking back. But it meant giving up the life you'd led.
Somewhere along the way, your happiness overshadowed all you'd left behind. After a few weeks, being home alone while your men worked started to feel isolating. You liked being a little busy, and there weren't enough projects around the house to keep you busy enough. You'd always been independent, but you didn't want to be stuck in a job with long hours anymore. You wanted to be home for your men. So you'd found the job at ASDA.
Kyle reaches over to where you hand is still on John's. "I'm sorry we didn't ask how you were coping us being gone all day," he says. He looks you in the eye as he continues. "I understand wanting to do something, wanting to be a little busy, and if this makes you happy, then I'm all for it, doll." He gives you a small smile and squeezes your and John's hand.
"Gaz is right," Simon rumbles. "We were so happy to have you here we didn't think about what you did all alone all day." He puts a heavy hand on your thigh, the warmth of him seeping through your thin leggings. "'m glad you have something to keep you from getting lonely."
"Sorry, hen," Johnny murmurs, just above a whisper. "We didnae think a' ye enough." You smile widely at him.
"Johnny, you think of me all the time. This isn't about neglect at all!" You try to catch his eye, but he's looking hard at the table in front of him. "You did nothing wrong, love," you tell him gently.
He looks at you, blue eyes bright. "Ye sure?" You've never seen him this nervous before, and you break a little.
"I'm sure love."
He smiles then, a little smile, but it brightens his face and shifts the mood in the room. You look at John who's been surprisingly quiet this whole time.
He's smiling, but it's a little sad. "I know ya said we didn't do anything wrong, but we feel like we did. We didn't notice you were bored, didn't ask if you were lonely." He flips his hand over under yours and threads your fingers with his. "Yer giving us a gift by not blaming us, and we'd be stupid not to take it, even though it feels like yer giving us an out. Thank you." He brings your hand to his lips and kisses it softly.
"Thank you. I was worried you'd be mad," you admit.
"Never could make us mad with something like this, hen," Johnny reassures you. "I'm sorry we had to spoil your day is all."
You turn back to look at the food on the island. "You didn't spoil my day. You made it. You're home early, and you made such a lovely spread. I think we should tuck in, yeah?"
Simon chuckles. "Point made, doll," he says, scooping a heaping helping of mash onto his fork. The rest take it as a sign to start eating too.
The room is silent save for the sounds of food savored until John pipes up, "Why'd ya come to florals, love? We might have missed ya altogether if not for that."
You giggle. "The sunshine call, John."
"Yeah?" He clearly doesn't understand.
"It's the shop call for a difficult customer. When I'm on shift, it's my job to handle those." You look at each of your lovers in turn. "Seems I've got a knack for dealing with muppets," you tell them with a smirk.

SUMMARY: You don’t expect much when your eyes meet his across the café-bar—just a fleeting glance, a moment that should mean nothing. But then there’s another look. And another. Before you know it, you’re tangled up in something that isn’t love, isn’t commitment—just an escape wrapped in late-night encounters and whispered goodbyes.
It’s fine. Until it isn’t.
When feelings start creeping in, you both decide to walk away before things get too complicated. It should have ended there. But fate has other plans. When your friend starts dating Jungkook—his best friend, his bandmate—you find yourself face to face with Yoongi once again.
The past lingers between you, heavy and unresolved. The question is—was it ever really over?

CHAPTER TWO — Drowning in the Silence Between Us; happy reading my gummies...
AN: hii guys. im so excited for this chapter, i LOVE it. it's so funny. like, i'm over here cackling like a mad person. it's honestly kinda self projecting but oh well, i'm embracing it. who needs boundaries when you're writing, right?
also, just to clear things up, y/n's book dear me is in no way connected with my jungkook fic dear me (imagine the drama if it was). it's just that i couldn’t think of a name for her book, so i just borrowed the name from one of my own fics. i promise i'm not secretly inserting my own universe into this. but yeah, dear me in this fic is y/n's book and it's all original with her own characters. okay, enjoy the chaos.
also, goal for this chapter is 250 notes. i am not lowering it this time. i fed you well with this one, 7k words after all, so if you want a new meal, y'all will have to work for it. get those notes in!
"Remind me again why we still don't know his name?" Chul asks, flatly, as he sets down three steaming mugs with the precision of a tired barista.
"Because it's still new," Aecha says, wrapping her hands around her cup. "And I want it to stay good before I jinx it by saying too much. You know how it goes—tell people, suddenly the whole thing collapses like a cheap tent."
You narrow your eyes, flicking ash off your cigarette with a pointed look. "People? Are we people to you now? Damn. And here I thought we made it past that stage."
Aecha just shrugs, a mischievous smile playing at the corner of her lips.
"It’s not just that, though," you go on, leaning forward. "It’s like you're actively enjoying this whole mystery-man act. Like you want us to suffer trying to figure out who he is."
"Maybe I do," she says, taking another sip. "You two make great detectives when you're desperate."
Chul groans, flopping onto the couch. "Great. So now we’re just part of your little game."
"You’ve always been part of my little game," she says with a wink.
"You see how little she thinks of us?" you say, shooting Chul a look of betrayal.
Chul nods with theatrical disappointment, letting out a long, dramatic sigh as he leans back in his chair. "Our own goddamn roommate. Best friend, even. And we’re apparently not worthy of a name."
"Ugh, it’s not like that," Aecha groans, setting her mug down with a soft clink. "It’s just… complicated, okay? You’ll understand when you meet him."
You raise an eyebrow. "Yeah? If we ever get to meet him. At this rate, you’ll be married with two kids before we even know his star sign."
"It would be nice to know who we’re meeting at least," Chul adds, more gently now. "Y’know, in case he’s a serial killer or a tax evader or something."
Aecha snorts. "He’s not a serial killer. Or a tax evader."
"That’s exactly what someone dating a serial killer would say," you deadpan, taking a slow drag of your cigarette.
"Oh, oh—wait. I have a theory," you say, tapping your fingers against the edge of the small wooden table. It’s sticky. "Ugh. Chul, seriously? Did you skip cleaning duty again?"
"Creative minds don't clean," Chul mumbles, unbothered.
You roll your eyes. "Anyway. Theory time. What if he's, like, a dealer? Or—wait—a vampire baby? Be honest, Aecha. Is your man an immortal bloodsucker with a side hustle in illegal substances? Because if so, I support you, I just need to emotionally prepare."
Aecha snorts into her coffee. "He is not a dealer. Or a vampire. God, what even is a vampire baby?"
"You know… baby-faced. Pale. Broody. Hangs out in corners. Likes antique furniture." You gesture vaguely, like you're describing a wine.
"Still no," Aecha says, but her smile slips just a little. "But I will say... he’s not exactly someone I can just go around telling people I’m dating."
You and Chul exchange glances.
"Jesus, who is he then?" Chul says, leaning forward with his chin on his hand. "C’mon, babe. All this secrecy is exhausting. You’re wearing us down like some kind of psychological warfare expert."
Aecha just shrugs again, lips curving into that maddening, knowing smile. "Good things come to those who wait.”
"Aaand, c’mon, guys," Aecha sighs, blowing on her coffee before taking a small sip. "It’s not like I’m keeping you waiting forever. For fuck’s sake, you’ll be meeting him—and his closest friends—tonight."
Chul’s eyes narrow, a slow, wicked grin forming. Then, in a low, ominous whisper, he leans in toward you. "Imagine they’re a group of human traffickers... and Aecha’s just their charming recruiter."
You snort. "Okay, that’s a little too specific, Chul."
"I’m just saying," he continues, eyes wide with mock horror, "if I end up stuffed in a trunk or smuggled across borders, I want it on record that she brought me to this dinner."
"No, but seriously?" you add, more dramatic than necessary. "I’m telling my mother where I’m going. If I disappear, she will avenge me."
"God, you’re both insane," Aecha mutters, laughing into her cup.
"Insane but prepared," Chul says. "That’s how survivors think.”
The fact that Aecha won’t even tell you her boyfriend’s name is… mildly weird. Actually, scratch that—it’s very weird. She’s never been the secretive type. If anything, she’s the kind of person who gives you the full name, zodiac sign, and three red flags of any guy she’s crushing on—whether it's someone she matched with for five minutes or actually dated for five weeks.
So the silence now? The mystery? It’s not just out of character—it’s loud.
Whoever this guy is, he must matter. Like, really matter. Either that, or something about him makes things complicated. And that? That makes you uneasy.
The idea of Aecha dating an idol has crossed your mind more than once. And honestly, that would be a solid reason to keep things secret. It makes sense. It fits.
But you try not to go there. Because you know. You know how messy it gets when people get tangled up in that world—the kind of dynamic that drains you, strips your privacy, and leaves you more alone than you were to begin with. The pressure, the lies, the heartbreak that's practically guaranteed.
So you don’t think about it. Or at least you try not to. It's easier to joke about vampire boyfriends or underground crime syndicates than to face a possibility that actually makes sense. A possibility that could genuinely hurt her.
Especially with her job—working in the digital marketing team at SM Entertainment—she’s in it. Right there, in the orbit of fame and its gravitational mess. And the odds of her meeting someone who lives in that spotlight? High. Too high.
And that’s what makes it worse.
"Aight, I gotta bounce. My shift starts in 45 minutes and I actually wanna keep this job," Chul groans, tossing back the last sip of lukewarm coffee like it’s tequila.
He gets up, drags himself to the sink, and starts washing his cup with the enthusiasm of a man being held at gunpoint.
"Wow," you say, raising an eyebrow. "Look who finally discovered the kitchen sink."
"I’m only doing this so you don’t go full FBI on me about it later," he mutters.
"That’s called growth, baby."
"Okay, don’t forget dinner!" Aecha calls out as he wrestles with his shoelaces like they personally offended him. "8PM sharp. LaRoy’s. If you're late, I’m telling them you died."
"Relax," he grunts, halfway into his hoodie. "I’ll be there. But just so we’re clear—if this turns out to be some cult initiation dinner, I’m eating first, then running."
"That’s fair," you nod. "Die with a full stomach. Iconic."
"Also, if I get kidnapped, I’m haunting you both. And I’m not gonna be a chill ghost. I’ll whisper embarrassing shit during your Zoom calls."
"Joke’s on you, I already embarrass myself daily," you shrug. "You’d be background noise."
"Love the support, really. Bye, losers."
And with that, he’s gone—probably already mentally composing his resignation letter.
When Chul leaves, it’s just you and Aecha again.
She’s immediately back on her phone, nails tapping out soft clicks against the screen—the kind of ASMR sound that weirdly soothes your brain. She’s smiling. Small, but there. The kind of smile reserved for someone. Mystery Man.
You don’t poke at her this time. Instead, you open your laptop, skimming through the last chapter you wrote, wincing at some of your word choices like they personally betrayed you.
"What are you doing today?" Aecha asks without looking up, but you can tell she’s peeled her eyes away from the screen just enough to look at you.
You sigh. "Writing. Or dying. Depends how dramatic I feel in an hour. I have to finish at least one chapter today or else both my editor and publisher are going to show up at my funeral just to make sure I’m really dead."
"Damn," she laughs, "at least you're being emotionally tortured by something you love."
"Yeah, yeah," you mutter. "I do love it. I just hate the part where I have to prove I'm not a lazy roach every three days. But don’t worry, I’ll be there for dinner. There’s no way I’m missing the grand reveal of Mr. No-Name."
"Good," Aecha says, biting back a grin. "I’ll be with him today. He’s got the day off—those are basically unicorn sightings. I’ll get ready at his place."
You gape. "Wait, so I’m stuck getting ready with Chul? Girl, you know he’s gonna stand in the doorway and trash all my outfit options like he’s a one-man 'Project Runway' judge panel."
"Oh absolutely," Aecha says, nodding. "You should prepare a backup outfit he picks. Just for the chaos."
"He’d probably put me in Crocs and a poncho just to see me suffer."
"And you’d still serve."
You glance up from your laptop. "I would, wouldn’t I?”
"Of course you would," Aecha grins, all smug and mysterious.
And then? Silence. The kind where you’re both in your little bubbles—her giggling at her phone like it’s whispering sweet nothings, and you glaring at your laptop like it just slapped your mom.
You’re trying to write. You really are. But this one scene is being stubborn. No matter how many times you rewrite it, it still reads like garbage written by a sleep-deprived raccoon with WiFi.
Your eye twitches.
Then—RING RING.
"Shit, he’s here?!" Aecha yelps, launching off the couch like she just sat on a ghost. She’s grabbing her purse, her wallet, a random sock, possibly someone’s toothbrush—you’re not even sure anymore.
"Wait, where is here?" you ask, blinking through the chaos.
"Here-here! Like, downstairs-here! Picking-me-up-here!" she hisses, as she smacks on lipstick with the grace of someone who's clearly done this in moving vehicles before.
"Damn, thank god you’re chill about it," you say, watching the storm unfold.
"Shut up," she breathes, checking herself in the mirror like she’s about to accept an Oscar.
She turns to you, one shoe on, purse hanging half open, still looking criminally good. "Okay, I’m leaving. See you tonight, babe!"
"Byeeeeee," you sing, and wait exactly 2.4 seconds after the door shuts before sprinting to the window like you’re in a Netflix thriller.
Full. Detective. Mode.
If she won’t tell you who this guy is, you’re gonna Nancy Drew your way into the answer.
You peek through the blinds—subtle, of course. Very stealth. But all you see is a car.
A very nice car.
A sexy, blacked-out, borderline Batman-looking Mercedes G 63 S.
You whistle under your breath. “Sir, what do you do for a living? And can I do it too?”
The windows are tinted darker than your search history. There’s no way to see inside. Just Aecha getting in, flipping her hair like this is her life now and the rest of you peasants can stay pressed.
The car glides away like it’s floating on money.
You stand there, blinking, brain already spiraling. Rich? Idol? CEO? Cult leader with good branding?
You sigh and flop back down on the couch.
“Good for her,” you mumble. “Eat the rich. Or at least… ride in their cars and moisturize with their money.”
You spend the rest of your day in the most unproductive, soul-crushing spiral imaginable. The kind of spiral where you stare at your laptop for so long, the blinking cursor starts to feel like it’s mocking you. Blink. Blink. You suck. Blink.
You write half a sentence. Delete it. Write a new one. Delete that too. Open Instagram. Hate everyone. Go back to the doc. Stare at the same three words for twenty minutes.
Your brain is soup. Not even good soup. Like watery instant ramen you forgot to flavor.
At one point, you dramatically flop face-down onto the couch and heavily consider committing one of two crimes:
One: Emailing your editor a resignation letter that just says "goodbye forever."
Two: Getting blackout drunk and letting the creative spirits possess you.
Option two is dangerously tempting. Tequila does make you poetic. But… you’re going to a dinner tonight. With Aecha’s mystery man and his friends. The man who drives a car that probably costs more than your organs combined.
You want to be sober. Observant. Ready to judge.
Because listen—if the man owns a Mercedes G 63 S, you know he’s dropping at least a couple hundred on wine tonight. You refuse to let his overpriced bottle taste like grape vinegar just because you had a solo pity party before dinner.
So you wait. Like a sad wife staring out the window for her husband at war. Except the war is Chul’s corporate shift and the husband is your emotional stability.
“Where the hell is he…” you mutter, tapping your pen against your notebook.
You have no idea what you’re wearing tonight. You have no mental energy to figure it out. You need Chul. You need his critiques, his sighs of disappointment, his dramatic gasp when you suggest wearing sneakers.
God help you if he comes home late. Or worse—if he says he’s too tired to help.
You might genuinely cry.
When the door finally creaks open, you let out a sigh of dramatic relief, like a damsel rescued from a burning building.
“I’m baaack!” Chul calls, dragging out the vowels. You hear the familiar thud of shoes being kicked off and keys clattering into the bowl by the door before he saunters into the living room like he owns the place—which, okay, partially, he does.
He takes one look at you, curled up on the couch like a cryptid, laptop half-slid down your lap, face twisted in literary despair.
“You writing?” he asks, already suspicious.
“Trying to,” you mumble, eyes still glued to the cursed blinking cursor.
He squints at you. “That doesn’t sound good.”
“Not at all.”
He flops down beside you with a grunt, grabbing a throw pillow and hugging it like it personally owes him money.
“Is it like… ‘I can’t write because I’m empty inside’ trying? Or ‘I can’t write because I accidentally stalked Aecha’s mystery man via car model and now my brain is fried’ trying?”
You blink at him.
“Both.”
“Knew it. You’re a menace.”
You groan, sinking deeper into the couch. “He drives a G 63 S, Chul. What kind of man does that? What kind of bank account does that?”
Chul gasps. “A dangerous one. Probably moisturizes with La Mer and screams at assistants named Greg.”
You both sit in silence for a moment, processing the sheer luxury of the situation.
“…We have to look hot tonight.” you mutter.
Chul tosses the pillow aside like it’s a grenade. “I’ll get the steamer.”
The next two hours turn into a full-blown getting ready montage, complete with outfit changes, near-death experiences with the eyelash curler, and Chul nearly setting the apartment on fire trying to steam his shirt.
By the time you’re done, you look like a Pinterest board brought to life. Your makeup is peak clean girl aesthetic—dewy skin, fluffy brows, and just the right amount of highlighter to make it look like you're always basking in golden hour. Your hair is curled to soft, effortless perfection (even though it took 45 minutes and one minor burn), and your white, off-shoulder dress hugs your body like it was custom-made for night.
Chul, on the other hand, looks like he walked straight out of a K-drama. He’s wearing these dangerously good khaki dress pants that somehow make his legs look ten feet long, and a white button-up that he very intentionally left two buttons undone. It’s giving “CEO with a tragic past”, and honestly? If he wasn’t so aggressively gay, you'd have jumped him in the hallway by now.
“Do I look hot?” he asks, spinning slowly.
“Unfortunately, yes.”
“Tragic,” he sighs, spritzing himself with cologne like he’s about to go on a date with destiny.
The ride to the restaurant is weirdly silent. You and Chul keep exchanging glances like you’re in a horror movie where the monster is definitely hiding in plain sight. Both of you are too nervous to say anything out loud, like the car itself might snitch to Aecha.
When you finally step inside LaRoy’s, the first thing that hits you is how insanely gorgeous the place is. It’s giving Michelin star meets royalty on vacation. Golden chandeliers, velvet chairs, waiters with actual white gloves. You’re about to comment on it when—
“Wait... where is everyone?” Chul whispers.
And yeah. That’s when it hits you. The place is completely empty. Not a single other customer in sight. Just you, Chul, and an unsettling level of ambiance.
Chul and you exchange the we’re-definitely-about-to-die look.
Then, a pristine-looking hostess materializes out of nowhere like she was programmed to show up at maximum tension.
“Chul and Y/N?”
You both answer in unison, way too synchronized for comfort:
“Yes.”
“Right this way.”
You follow her through the overly quiet restaurant like you’re walking toward your own funeral. You glance at Chul, who is now casually patting down his hair and silently mouthing, ‘We’re so screwed’.
And then—you see her.
Aecha. Sitting at a massive round table like she owns the damn place. She’s already mid-laugh when she spots you two, and her smile somehow manages to get bigger. Like she's been waiting for this exact moment of dramatic entrance.
You don’t know if you should wave or run. Probably both.
And then you see the hand.
That hand—casually draped over Aecha’s shoulder, a silent claim.
You already know where this is going, but it doesn’t stop the twist in your stomach when you finally see who’s sitting next to her.
Jeon Jungkook.
Your breath hitches, and for a moment, you freeze. You don’t even care about the fact that he’s ridiculously good-looking, or how the room feels like it’s just a bit too bright. No. What hits you like a freight train is that if he’s here...
Yoongi is, too.
Fuck.
You don’t even need to look around the table to know. The feeling crawls up your spine like a warning signal, one that you’ve tried to ignore for years, but here it is, loud and unavoidable. The tightness in your chest. The pulse of nausea that makes you want to choke on your own breath.
You can’t look at Jungkook. You can’t.
Because if you do, the truth slaps you right across the face, and it’s one you’ve been running from. Jungkook is just a mess of questions you don’t care to have answered. But Yoongi? Yoongi’s the reason your heart beats too fast, why you’re still tangled in memories you should have let go of.
And then you see him.
Jesus.
The way his eyes land on you is like it’s been years since you last saw each other—and honestly, that's the truth. Two years. Two years passed. The ache that pulls at your ribs, the rawness that floods you, is something you thought had faded into oblivion. You thought you were over it.
But it’s never that easy, is it?
Chul notices immediately, the shift in your expression, the way your posture changes, rigid as though you’ve been frozen by some invisible force. His hand rests on your arm gently, a silent question. But what can you say? What can you explain without laying it all bare in front of people who have no idea about your history with him?
And you know it’s not just the fact that Yoongi is here—it’s that feeling. That damn ache that never really goes away. The past flooding back to suffocate you in this room full of people who have no clue what’s going on in your head.
You can’t breathe.
You’re not ready for this. You weren’t ready to see him again. Not like this. Not with Chul looking at you like he’s wondering if you’re okay.
But Yoongi? Yoongi’s eyes stay locked on yours. No words. No movement. Just that look. The one that says everything, even though it says nothing at all.
It’s like he’s still inside you. Like nothing has changed. You’re right back there, a thousand moments too many.
And it hits you—the final realization that this dinner isn’t just awkward. It’s a damn reminder of all the unfinished business you wish you could bury.
You’ve never felt so out of control.
“Oh my God, hi guys,” Aecha stands up with that familiar sparkle in her eye, wrapping you in a hug that feels tighter than usual. You hug her back, but your hands are clammy, your heart heavy in your chest. The warmth in her smile is real—but you can’t match it right now. Not with everything pressing down on you.
You force a breath as your gaze flickers over the table. You skip him. You skip Yoongi. On purpose.
Your hand finds the hem of your dress, discreetly wiping off the sweat as you steel yourself to be polite. Presentable. Normal.
Jungkook stands to greet you, that signature sweetness etched into every corner of his face. “Hey, I’m Jungkook,” he says, extending his hand. He doesn’t know. You see it immediately. There’s no recognition of your history—only curiosity, maybe a spark of interest, but nothing more.
You shake his hand, offering a small smile. “Nice to meet you.” Chul introduces himself too, and Jungkook lights up, immediately vibing with him, which helps, a little. The rest of the guys are friendly, laid-back. They smile, say their names, nod politely. It should feel normal.
But then.
He stands.
And everything slows.
“Min Yoongi,” he says evenly, his tone smooth and familiar in the worst way. He extends his hand, and for a moment you freeze. You think about ignoring it. About pretending. But that would draw too much attention—especially with Aecha watching so closely.
So you take it.
Your name slips from your mouth like it doesn’t belong to you. Like it’s a line from a script you’ve forgotten how to feel.
His skin is warm. You wish it wasn’t.
It lasts no more than a second. But when you sit down, your whole body feels altered.
Chul’s next, his handshake with Yoongi stiffer, his eyes avoiding yours. You don’t need to ask to know—he’s silently panicking. He knows everything. And you’re both trying to act like nothing happened, like Yoongi and you didn’t ruin each other once and then vanish from each other's worlds.
Namjoon watches. Quietly. Sharp eyes missing nothing.
You wonder if Yoongi gave him the full truth. Or just enough to keep him quiet.
Either way—this dinner is going to suck.
You settle into your chairs, side by side like you're bracing for impact. On your right sits Kim Taehyung, draped in luxury like it's a second skin, sipping water like it's champagne. On Chul’s left, Yoongi is already sprawled in his chair, legs stretched out like he’d rather be anywhere but here.
Honestly? Mood.
You flick your eyes at Chul. He looks like he’s debating whether to throw up or chug the complimentary sparkling water. No in-between.
“Sooo,” Chul finally speaks, voice artificially light. “Give us the story of how you two met. Like okay, you’re dating him,” he points a thumb at Jungkook, “but you work for SM, not HYBE.”
Aecha beams, clearly ready for this part. “It was during a promotional event the guys were at. I was there handling digital strategy for EXO, and Jungkook was invited as a guest and—”
“She was holding an iPad like it was a weapon,” Jungkook cuts in with a laugh, eyes crinkling. “I was just trying to ask where the restrooms were, and she looked at me like I was trying to hack the mainframe.”
“I did,” Aecha says dramatically. “He walked up all shy like, ‘Excuse me—’ and I was like, ‘Do not distract me, I’m in the middle of an algorithmic miracle.’”
“Which turned out to be a TikTok schedule,” Jungkook deadpans.
“Hey. That TikTok trended for three days. I saved Baekhyun’s brand.”
They’re laughing. Everyone at the table joins in. Except you.
And Yoongi.
Taehyung leans a little closer, eyes twinkling. “So what about you two?” he asks innocently, gesturing between you and Chul.
“We’re not together,” you and Chul say in perfect sync, too quickly, like soldiers trained for battle.
“Oh,” Taehyung blinks. “I mean—okay.”
“Yeah,” Chul coughs, “I’m very gay and she’s very… emotionally unavailable.”
“Thanks for that,” you mutter, shooting him a glare.
“What? You are.”
“Okay but you once cried because the guy you liked didn’t like The 1975.”
“Because he had no taste,” Chul hisses back.
Namjoon snorts into his glass. Yoongi remains silent. You can feel him, though—his presence heavier than anything on the menu. He hasn’t looked at you once. Not since the handshake. But you know he’s listening. You know.
Aecha smiles brightly. “Isn’t this nice? Everyone vibing already!”
You glance at her, then at Yoongi’s shoulder half a meter away from yours. You're practically inhaling the same air and pretending he’s a stranger.
Yeah.
Nice.
Totally vibing.
“So,” Aecha starts, swirling her wine like she didn’t just drop a social grenade, “What’s everyone getting? The truffle risotto is apparently divine.”
You reach for the menu like it might shield you from the tension building beside you. Yoongi still hasn’t spoken. Still hasn’t looked at you. It’s like sitting next to a ghost you used to let touch you.
Chul nudges your knee under the table. You don’t look at him, but you know he’s silently asking if you’re okay. You’re not. But you nod anyway.
“I’ll probably get the steak,” Jungkook says. “Haven’t eaten properly all day.”
“Of course you haven’t,” Taehyung mutters. “You only drink iced americanos and chew gum like it’s a food group.”
“I’m a busy man.”
“You’re chronically late.”
“Still busy.”
Yoongi finally speaks. “Get the steak rare,” he mutters without looking up, “They overcook everything past medium.”
His voice. It slashes through the air like a knife dipped in nostalgia and regret. You freeze for half a second. Just half. But Chul notices.
“Ohhh, steak boy speaks,” Taehyung says dramatically.
Yoongi doesn’t respond. Just drinks his water.
“So, Yoongi,” Aecha smiles, “still working on that solo album?”
He nods once. “Yeah.”
“How’s it going?” she asks sweetly.
“Like a root canal. But with synths.”
The table laughs. You don’t. You remember what he sounds like at 3am talking about chord progressions and bridges like they’re living things. You remember that look in his eyes when he finished a song and asked you to listen first. You remember a version of him that smiled at you across a messy bed, not across a dinner table full of other people.
You sip your wine. You need something stronger.
Namjoon clears his throat. “So, Y/N,” he says, forcing a new topic, “Aecha said you’re a writer?”
You blink. “Uh, yeah. I write romance.”
“Like… smut?”
Taehyung leans in, curious. Too curious.
Chul coughs loudly. “Not just smut.”
“I mean… a little smut,” you admit, shrugging, because what else are you gonna do? Lie?
“That’s dope,” Jungkook grins, nodding. “That takes guts.”
Yoongi still doesn’t say anything.
“I read one of her books once,” Chul announces, like he’s proud. “Couldn’t look her in the eye for a week.”
“Because you read the scene,” you mutter.
“Oh, you know I read the scene.”
“Wait,” Taehyung interrupts, eyes wide. “Do you base your characters on real people?”
You open your mouth to answer, but before anything leaves your lips, Yoongi suddenly stands.
“I’m gonna smoke,” he mutters, already walking away before anyone can respond.
Silence follows in his wake. Chul clears his throat.
“I’d say he’s always like that but… he’s not.” Jimin sighs into his wine.
You stab at your salad like it insulted your lineage.
And Aecha, bless her clueless soul, just smiles and says, “Maybe I will get that risotto.”
When Yoongi comes back, the conversation is already flowing. The wine’s been poured (maybe a little too generously), the bread basket is on its second refill, and you’re three laughs deep into a story with Jin and Taehyung.
You didn’t dare follow him outside. Nope. Not a chance. You weren’t about to chase a ghost into the night like it’s some 2014 Tumblr breakup playlist.
So you stayed, committed to the bit, committed to pretending your past isn’t three chairs away and brooding in black. Well he was smoking outside. But you get the point.
And now? You’re vibing.
“Wait, you’re telling me you were the one who wrote Dear Me?” Taehyung says, eyes wide like you just told him you invented bread.
You nod, sipping your wine like it’s a mic drop.
“That would be me.”
“NO.” His jaw is dropped. “No no no. That book ruined my entire week. I didn't leave my room. I didn't eat.”
Jin leans forward dramatically. “I read that one. I didn’t come out of my room for three days after that. Why is it so fucking sad?”
You grin. “It’s called talent. Look it up.”
Jin places a hand over his heart like you stabbed him. “Do you thrive on making your readers cry?”
“I mean…” You shrug. “A little. It’s character development. For you, not the characters.”
“Twisted,” Taehyung mumbles. “You need therapy.”
“And yet here you are, emotionally wrecked and asking for more.”
“You’re dangerous,” Jin points at you. “You’re like one of those hot witches in fantasy novels who curse people with heartbreak and then look hot doing it.”
You raise your glass. “Cheers.”
That’s when you feel it—him.
Yoongi slides back into his chair, and even though you don’t look at him, you know. You know from the slight shift in the table. The way the energy dips by ten degrees. The way Chul subtly straightens up like he might have to go full bodyguard in two seconds.
“So,” Namjoon says, like he’s stepping between a lit fuse and a barrel of gunpowder, “Yoongi, did you smoke the entire pack or just half?”
“Depends,” Yoongi replies flatly. “Did the conversation get better while I was gone?”
“Oh,” Jin grins, “way better. She wrote Dear Me.”
Yoongi stills. You don’t look at him. But you hear it in the pause. The inhale. The weight of a book title that he knows isn’t fiction.
“That book,” Jin continues, oblivious, “is basically emotional waterboarding.”
Yoongi takes a slow sip of his drink. “Sounds familiar.”
Your hand tightens around your glass. So we’re doing this. We’re being subtle.
“It’s fiction,” you say brightly. “Totally made up. Not a single shred of truth in it.”
Yoongi finally glances at you, eyes sharp. “Right. Fiction.”
Taehyung, bless his heart, frowns. “Wait. Is this about that scene with the voicemail? ‘Cause that—”
Chul loudly coughs and drops his fork.
“Anyway,” he says, “Jungkook, how’s your dog?”
Jungkook blinks. “Uhh… he’s good?”
“Great. Cool. Let’s talk more about that.”
The table dissolves into messy conversation again, everyone just a little too loud, a little too animated. You finally risk a glance at Yoongi. He’s looking at you, of course.
And beneath the casual disinterest, his eyes say it loud and clear:
You really thought I wouldn’t recognize myself in your pages?
You take another sip of wine and look away.
You were the one who told me to write what I know.
“Sooo,” Taehyung sings, one eyebrow cocked and eyes glittering as they dart to you. His voice alone is dangerous—smooth and teasing, the kind that could talk you into trouble without breaking a sweat. “Do you have a boyfriend?”
You pause mid-sip, arching a brow. “Umm, I’m pretty sure Chul already mentioned my emotional unavailability.”
Across the table, Chul snorts. “That’s an understatement.”
“Maybe,” Taehyung leans in a little, resting his elbow on the table and his chin in his palm, “we can work on that one.”
You blink. “What, my issues?”
“No,” he grins, wolfish and playful. “Your availability.”
Hoseok doesn’t look up from cutting his steak, but his fork slows. “Taehyung.”
“What?” Taehyung says innocently, eyes still trained on you. “We’re just talking. I’m curious. I like to connect with people.”
“Yeah, well maybe let her breathe before you start undressing her with your eyes,” Jimin mutters, sipping his wine.
“Oh please,” you roll your eyes, “let him. I put effort into this dress.”
“Exactly,” Taehyung points at you. “You wore it for a reason, don’t lie.”
You lean back, smirking. “I wore it for the free wine, actually.”
Yoongi mutters under his breath, “Still desperate for the buzz, huh?”
You don’t even look at him. “Still pretending like you’re too good for anything fun, huh?”
There’s a pause. A weird pause.
And then Jungkook narrows his eyes between the two of you. “Wait. Hold on. You two know each other?”
Namjoon’s knife slips and scrapes against his plate with a loud screech. Chul straight up drops his fork.
You blink slowly, forcing a tight-lipped smile. “Define know.”
“I knew it,” Taehyung leans forward, eyes wide with delight.
“No, no, no, it’s not like that,” Chul jumps in, hands raised like he’s waving off a scandal. “They… uh, they were in a workshop together.”
You shoot him a look. A “really?” kind of look.
Namjoon nods way too fast. “Yeah. Yeah! Like two years ago. They had a, uh… poetry workshop?”
“Poetry?” Jin asks, clearly unconvinced. “Yoongi?”
Yoongi just stares blankly at the table like he’s counting down the seconds till he can leave.
“Yep,” Namjoon barrels forward. “Modern poetry. Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8 a.m. Real intense syllabus.”
“Exactly,” Chul laughs awkwardly. “Like, Emily Dickinson, Rupi Kaur… very deep.”
“I dropped out after three weeks,” Yoongi says flatly.
“Oh,” Jungkook says, squinting at him, then at you. “And you stayed in?”
You nod, cheeks warm. “Loved every second of it.”
Taehyung’s trying not to laugh. “Okay, sure. What was your favorite poem?”
You deadpan, “The one about heartbreak and regret.”
Yoongi mutters under his breath, “Original.”
You snap back, “At least I read something.”
Chul loudly clears his throat. “So, um, wine! Should we order another bottle?”
Namjoon nearly slams his glass down. “Yes. Definitely. Someone flag a waiter.”
Taehyung hums, still eyeing you like he’s crafting a sonnet in his head. “Tell you what—if we survive this night, I’m taking you out. No emotional unavailability allowed.”
You raise a brow. “And what if I ghost you after?”
He smirks. “Then I’ll write a sad poem and hope it gets published. Sound familiar?”
Jimin jumps in, glancing at Chul. “So what is going on with you two, huh?”
“We’re roommates,” Chul replies, deadpan.
“Roommates who get ready together for dinner like it’s prom night?” Yoongi mutters, not even looking up from his glass.
“Dude. I already said—I’m into men. I like penises. Hope this helps.”
The entire table erupts.
Taehyung nearly falls out of his chair laughing. Jin bangs the table. Namjoon mutters, “I needed that level of honesty today.”
Jungkook wheezes, “I’m framing that quote.”
Meanwhile, you're crying from laughter and embarrassment, hiding your face in your hands. “God, Chul, you’re so dramatic.”
“I’m not dramatic, I’m just tired of being confused for your boyfriend when I’m actively fantasizing about Park Seojoon,” Chul fires back.
Jimin, without even looking up from his plate, goes, “Honestly, mood.”
Jin wipes a tear from his eye. “Okay, fair. Penises. Got it.”
Taehyung raises his glass toward Chul. “To penises.”
Everyone clinks their glasses—except you, still dying inside.
“So,” Namjoon says, pointing his chopsticks at you like they’re a lie detector, “are you working on something new?”
You freeze mid-sip of your wine. “Uhh… kinda yeah.”
“Okay, so that’s a yes, but it’s going terribly,” Jin interprets, nodding sagely.
You sigh, dramatically collapsing back in your chair. “It’s like… my brain is a hamster wheel. Except the hamster died. And now the wheel is just creaking ominously in the wind.”
Taehyung gasps. “That’s so dark. I love it. Can I be the dead hamster?”
“Please,” you deadpan, “be my guest.”
Namjoon chuckles. “So it’s writer’s block?”
“Big time. Like, I’ve stared at a blank document for so long, I think it’s starting to stare back.”
Chul chimes in, “I found her today whispering ‘just one sentence’ to her laptop like it owed her money.”
“It does owe me money,” you say, poking at your food. “And dignity.”
Aecha grins. “Have you tried turning it off and crying?”
Yoongi mutters, “That’s my approach to life, honestly.”
“Oh my god, same,” you say, raising your glass toward him.
Taehyung, ever the opportunist, leans in with a flirty glint in his eye. “Maybe you just need some fresh inspiration.”
You raise a brow. “Are you volunteering?”
“I mean…” he shrugs, smirking. “I do look good in tragic love stories.”
“Tragic is right,” Yoongi mumbles under his breath.
Namjoon laughs. “Okay, okay—can we please get a live reading if she ever finishes it?”
You scoff. “Only if you promise not to cry.”
“I make no such promises,” Namjoon says, holding up his hands. “According to Tae and Jin, you write pain too well.”
Taehyung leans in again, this time resting his chin on his hand, eyes twinkling. “I’m serious. Write something hopeful. Like a tortured writer meets a charming stranger in a too-fancy restaurant. Sparks fly. Banter ensues. Maybe a little—” he pauses, eyes flickering to your lips, “—tension.”
You chuckle, but you feel the heat creep up your neck. “What are you trying to do, cast yourself as the love interest?”
Jin jumps in, laughing. “Please, the man’s been auditioning since the appetizers.”
“Can you blame me?” Taehyung says dramatically. “She’s hot, she’s funny, and she writes angst that emotionally ruins people. I’m practically in love already.”
Yoongi’s fork clinks a little too hard against his plate.
Namjoon raises an eyebrow, sensing the shift. “You okay, hyung?”
Yoongi shrugs, not looking up. “Just didn’t realize we were casting for a romcom tonight.”
“You wanna audition too?” Jin grins. “Could be a love triangle.”
“I don’t do love triangles,” Yoongi mutters, swirling his drink. “Too messy.”
Chul snorts. “Says the guy who practically invented emotional mess but ‘make it music’.”
You glance at him, curious, but Yoongi doesn’t take the bait. Instead, his eyes flicker up and lock with yours for a split second—just long enough for your breath to catch.
Taehyung doesn’t miss it, and he grins wider, leaning closer to you. “Well, if it were a love triangle, I’d fight dirty.”
“Oh my god,” Chul groans. “This is officially a Wattpad fic now.”
“Shut up,” you say, biting your lip to hold back a smile.
Taehyung winks. “I’ll be waiting for my cameo in chapter five.”
Aecha leans forward, swirling her wine lazily. “Yoongi, didn’t you say you’ve been dealing with a block too?”
Yoongi gives a slow nod, jaw ticking slightly. “Yeah. It’s been rough. But, you know… it comes with the territory. It’s part of the process, unfortunately.”
You glance at him, eyebrows raising slightly as he continues.
“I’m not really in a rush, though. The next album isn’t coming out until next year anyway. D-Day’s still pretty fresh. Still got some breathing room.”
Aecha perks up instantly. “Oh my God, D-Day! We were obsessed. The three of us actually had a whole listening party when it dropped. Like, wine, snacks, full breakdowns of lyrics... tears.”
“Mostly Chul’s tears,” you chime in, smirking.
“I stand by them,” Chul says dramatically. “'Amygdala' had me pacing the hallway like a divorced man in a drama.”
Yoongi chuckles, soft and genuine. “Happy to hear D-Day landed.”
“And by ‘landed,’ he means it sucker-punched us in the gut and left us on the floor,” you mutter.
“Good,” Yoongi says, a tiny smirk playing at his lips. “That’s the goal.”
For a second, his eyes flick to yours. And something lingers there—quiet, unspoken, and just slightly bruised.
You don’t look away. Not yet.
“We actually went to the concert too,” Aecha says, casually lifting her wine glass.
Jungkook gasps, clutching his chest like she just betrayed him. “You didn’t tell me about this? You attended my hyung’s concert without me?”
“You didn’t even know me back then, Kook,” Aecha laughs, nudging his shoulder. “It was, like, peak fangirl era.”
Yoongi raises an eyebrow, clearly amused. “You were there?” he asks, looking at all three of you—but his gaze lands and lingers on you.
Your stomach flips. “Yeah, we were,” you say, carefully meeting his eyes. “It was… incredible.”
His expression softens, just a little. “Huh. Didn’t expect that.”
“We cried,” Chul announces dramatically, raising a hand. “Like, real tears. Especially her.” He jerks his thumb toward you.
You shoot him a look. “Chul, please.”
“I’m just saying,” he shrugs, grinning. “Some of us may or may not have said ‘he’s a genius’ in the middle of the second chorus.”
Yoongi’s lips twitch, that almost-smile threatening to show itself again. “Good to know I had such a poetic impact.”
You smile faintly, and something about the way he looks at you—like he's trying to read a secret you never meant to share—makes your throat tighten just a little.
Yoongi takes a slow sip of his drink, eyes still on you, like he’s trying to decide if he should say something or let the silence speak instead. He goes with the second option—until Taehyung interrupts.
“So, Y/N,” Taehyung leans in, smirking, “did you fall in love with him before or after People Pt.2?”
You snort. “Definitely after. Before that, he was still hiding behind metaphors.”
Yoongi’s mouth quirks. “You think I hide behind metaphors?”
You glance at him, heartbeat hitching just slightly. “You live behind metaphors.”
A beat of silence passes. His eyes don’t leave yours. “And yet you still showed up.”
You want to roll your eyes, but it’s too sincere to dismiss. “Yeah, well… good lyrics deserve to be heard. Doesn’t mean I know the man behind them.”
Yoongi leans back in his chair, something unreadable flickering in his eyes. “Maybe you did.”

⋆⭒˚. invincible x green lantern!reader ⭒˚.⋆

✦ masterlist || next ✦ imagine: local delinquent girl acts as the one and only green lantern of earth and who just so happens to have a distinct disdain for a certain half-viltrumite she has the displeasure of meeting ✦ pairings: mark grayson x reader ✦ warnings: n/a ✦ a/n: reader is a sort of magical girl inspired green lantern in the sense that i keep picturing her hero costume to be reminiscent of the pretty guardian sailor moon sailor senshi outfits, specifically sailor jupiter’s since she’s already green. her personality is bit of a mix of makoto kino from pgsm and kyoko sakura from puella magi madoka magica when it comes to inspiration because i love my bastard daughter, but i think it definitely evolved in a way that doesnt really align with that as well anymore ✦ originally this was meant to be longer but im not super used to the like? headcanons bulleted list style of formatting this imagine is in and i tend to like ramble and get off my initial thought so hopefully this cut version is readable enough, i might make multiple parts to this just to get some of my other headcanons out because i did really like some of the extra ones i just didn’t think they fit that well with the main ones (i also just want to write about gl!reader and her beloved punching bag ^^;; )
edit: I FORGOT THE OTHER HALF OF MY DRAFT FUCK.
✦ mark grayson was a fucking loser
✦ that was something you were sure of
✦ he’s some stupid dweeb with a dorky interest like seance dog who’s not even worth looking at over the gum stuck to your shoe
✦ you’ve known him since you were kids, when he was an annoying little boy with a gap in his teeth
✦ your parents trying to set up playdates with him and his family after moving into the neighborhood some time before you developed your powers
✦ before everything went to shit
✦ at twelve you were sought out by the green lantern’s ring, unsure as to why it chose you or how you were considered worthy
✦ maybe it was due to your childish belief that evil could be thwarted by the power of love and justice, like the pretty guardians and magical girls in the boxsets your mother let you read with her and the old vhs tapes you watched sitting in her lap growing up
✦ maybe it was your stubborn resolve when it came to protecting your friends on the schoolyard from snotty little boys who tried to pick on them (you were sent to the principal’s office due to your quick response to slug your tiny little fists at some stupid brat’s mouth enough to be on a first name basis with them, much to your father’s dismay)
✦ whatever it was, you were over the moon with your newfound abilities
✦ through sheer willpower you were able to construct anything your imagination thought of, you could fly, and (most importantly to your 13 year old self) your ring could create any hero costume design to anything your heart desired, complete with a dazzling transformation sequence to boot
✦ at first it was everything you ever wanted, days at school spent wanting to do nothing but go out and fight the forces of evil with your totally awesome magical powers (sort of)
✦ for a while you even wondered when you’d get your own team (all magical girls had a team comprised of their friends to fight off evil, so obviously you would get one eventually, right?)
✦ you spent a lot of time in class doodling what you thought your team would be like, which of your friends were bound to be chosen next and join your side (in the back of your notebook you even had some little doodles of you and some masked phantom thief type character that you could no longer pin who your kid self was thinking of at the time when you stumbled upon your old notebook)
✦ but of course, life wasn’t that simple
✦ you never got that team of magical girls, or other lanterns to come to your aid and help you fight off evil
✦ you didn’t have a moment where a kind older teammate you picked up along the way reassured you and comforted you when your body ached from being thrown around like a rag doll by some super powered freak trying to destroy a city block
✦ no one else was there to help you when your ring faltered and your constructs fell apart because you were just a little girl fighting for love and justice against real monsters, bad guys who wanted to break your bones or worse, ones who couldn’t be magically defeated with a magic tiara or a special transformation power-up
✦ it was you who had to do all of that
✦ it was you who had to choke back tears and lick your wounds just to push all of that fear down into the pits of your stomach and pull yourself back onto your feet to hit the bastard who broke your rib ten times as hard
✦ your constructs were tougher, brighter even, they no longer shattered after one heavy hit against the body of a big bulky target
✦ but it wasn’t your courage making them stronger—
✦ it was the unwavering resolve that you were going to punch and claw your way out of each hell you got into and survive, even if you had to die trying
✦ at some point you quit sticking your neck out for other people
✦ you stop searching for fights to start and to prevent crime before it escalates with regular patrols of the city
✦ you only ever came to the aid of civilians when danger was making itself present in big conflics, it gives you more time to be a regular girl and live your life
✦ by eight grade you had had to switch schools for fighting other students
✦ mark noticed that before your expulsion you seemed to have quit picking fights to protect your friends (friends who gradually started to drift away from you late seventh grade) and now you seemed to just be starting fights out of nowhere
✦ you needed to let off steam from your hero work, taking it out on some annoying boy in class was the closest thing you had to a goon or grunt
✦ he didn’t see you again until late into high school
✦ or, really he didn’t see you until he ran into eve after getting his powers
✦ because you saw him immediately after transferring back to the same school district and getting enrolled in the same high school as him
✦ somehow the world couldn’t be smaller
✦ you saw him the first day of senior year
✦ how could you forget, you punched him in the jaw at your parents’ funeral nearly four years ago
✦ you basically ignored him as much as you could
✦ i mean really he’s the same as he was as all those years ago as a stupid kid— dorky and innocent
✦ it was almost insulting the way he didn’t recognize you at first, but to be fair you gave him the cold shoulder and pushed past him in the halls whenever you could
✦ he often saw you smoking under the bleachers during breaks
✦ you still got into fights sometimes, he’s seen you throw a mean right hook whenever one of the other students were bothering you, so he generally he keeps his distance (still, he found himself looking at you over his shoulder every time he did notice you, something about the bad girl delinquent vibe gave you an allure of some kind)
✦ so now imagine being you, taking a night off for once from beating crooks bloody and waiting for civilians to get into trouble before swooping in to save them (again), loitering around Burger Mart and using your lantern ring to make a lighter to light a cigarette (you left your lighter at home— a nice vivienne westwood that belonged to your mom)
✦ you’re minding your own business when you see a familiar face come out from the back of the restaurant
✦ your brows scrunch up identifying the boy in uniform as your least favorite regular human on the planet as he’s hauling two trash bags over to the dumpster
✦ you groaned at the sight of him and rolled your eyes, going back to lighting your cigarette when you see him fidget with the bags for a moment before fucking chucking one of them into the fucking stratosphere
✦ you just sort of stare at him from where you were sat with wide, furious eyes
✦ because no way this loser gets powers out of fucking nowhere
✦ no fucking way you have been busting your ass for years getting stronger, learning how to suppress your fear and push yourself to be stronger, faster, more durable, everything to survive when you’re doing your rounds as Earth’s only green lantern
✦ and mark fucking grayson gets to throw massive heaps of trash into fucking space like it was nothing
✦ if there was a God somewhere, you were sure he’s laughing right at you
✦ you’re there when mark— sorry, when invincible makes his debut as a hero, during the initial flaxan invasion,
✦ you’re exceptionally more irritated than usual
✦ the others chalked it up to your usual grouchiness, but atom eve (your one and only friend) caught onto your ire rather quickly with just how aggressive you seemed to be that day
✦ when mark approached eve in the halls at school afterwards you didn’t do anything to hide your scowl, appearing behind her like a shadow
✦ it took him a second to notice you and he’s not all to proud to say your sudden arrival made him jump a little
✦ scared for a second that he was talking loud enough for someone to have heard him reveal his identity when he remembers you as one of the heroes who he fought beside during the flaxan invasion
✦ you’re annoyed when eve offers to lend an ear to mark, call it jealousy or just you being territorial of your only friend, but there was no way mark grayson gets one rocky start as a hero and immediately gets to be reassured by someone
✦ he gets his powers without needing to prove anything, he gets support from the get go by another hero like eve as soon as he doubts himself, it made you sick— HE makes you sick
✦ from then there on you just couldn’t shake this guy off you
✦ you ran into him more often at school, or at the store, hell you were getting put on the same assignments by cecil
✦ you’re sick of him
✦ sick of his stupid face and that dorky grin of his
✦ how he’s always checking in on you when you go down during a fight and how his voice sounded a bit softer when he spoke to you
✦ the way he makes your face heat up and made your stomach flip when he looked at you—
✦ oh…
✦ oh hell no.
✦ you needed to hit something and you needed to hit something hard (preferably mark)
✦ you were already pretty standoffish and kind of mean when you had to interact at school, but now?
✦ whenever you’re paired with him for missions half of it is spent barking at him and calling him stupid for not being careful enough
✦ he doesn’t even really know what gets you so heated sometimes but he’s getting better at dodging your punches when you start wailing on him post fight
✦ you hate how much effort you have to put just to keep up with him sometimes
✦ he makes you put in the work when he’s barely breaking a sweat
✦ you want to hit him with your hardest construct sometimes just to see him get skipped like a stone. he’s durable, he’ll live
✦ seeing you in action is something else
✦ your costume hasn’t really changed since you were younger (really the sailor scout uniform was just too good to switch up)
✦ but the duality of the cute bows on your leotard and the short pleated skirt compared to the sight of you slamming a heavy green mallet over some poor supervillain’s head always draws his attention to you
✦ you fight so effortlessly in mark’s eyes, you’re quick on your feet and there’s a unique power behind your punch that make him feel the earth beneath his feet shake when he sees you clock someone in the jaw
✦ you always looked so cool with your stoic, determined expression and he admires how ✦ you seem so put together, you barely stagger between attacks, it’s as if you’re just going through the motions
✦ watching you ring-sling is such a sight to see
✦ you’re so quick to adapt your light constructs he can’t imagine how fast you must be thinking for you to be able to switch as naturally as you do, almost like breathing
✦ he’s seen you combo your ring-sling constructs with your raw strength, hitting them with a green baseball bat before the same light construct stretched into a tether or a lasso to yank them back into your ring bearing fist— which by then had some brass knuckle or gauntlet wrapped around it to bust up their jaw
✦ you do surprisingly well at keeping up with him, you’re nowhere near as fast or durable as he is after he starts getting deeper and deeper into being invincible, but your willpower wasn’t something to laugh at
✦ he admired your courage and strength, even if he was at the end of some of those punches
✦ the two of you were such a strange pair
✦ both of you seemed oblivious to the way you looked at each other
✦ maybe it was the goggles on his costume but mark never seemed to realize that the scowl on your face wasn’t the same as your usual resting face (though he found the scrunch of your nose and the furrowing of your brows very cute)
✦ and you (despite your observational skills and general common sense) couldn’t tell that the sheepish puppy dog look on his face when he talked to you wasn’t just how his stupid face looked
✦ you also didn’t seem to realize that thinking about him as consistently as you did wasn’t something you’re supposed to do about someone you claimed to despise
✦ eve is at her wits end with you guys, especially since she was most often the one left to mediate between the two of you
✦ rex tried to do that once, but seeing as you were strongly aligned with eve and hold grudges longer than anyone else you still weren’t giving him any civilized response that didn’t involve chucking him into a lamppost ever since eve confided to you about him cheating
✦ also he used your spare lighter as ammunition once and he was still feeling the pain in his arm from when you broke his wrist after that
#i wrote like another 20+ bullets but i think it was getting kind of long ngl 😭#definitely will be putting together a part 2 of these and maybe a few extras i love thinking about them#an extra i was thinking of making was some hcs for specifically eve and gl!reader’s relationship bc i love them theyre my girls#my shaylas even#invincible#invincible x reader#mark grayson#mark grayson x reader#fanfic#fanfiction#writing#headcanons#imagine#invincible imagine#indomitable

After the two leave the house of daena there are two pairs of two coffee cups and coffee brewers on the table?? They are bringing the domesticity EVERYWHERE
alhaitham and kaveh leaving the tavern together, they are inseparable this quest we get it
KAVEH REFERRING TO THE HOUSE AS 'HOME'. DIRECTLY TO ALHAITHAM. HELLO??
alhaitham then agreeing with kaveh about going to the house of daena before going 'home', with a 'my thoughts exactly', guys,,, they are so in sync here im eating mortar
cyno taking the traveller and paimon to his best friend tree??? also where he and tighnari spent a lot of time together
cyno establishing his self worth respective of his power!!
sethos potentially a part of the family... my heart is in my mouth <333
tighnari understanding cyno without words - "CYNO: ...It's Professor Cyrus. You guys carry on without me. I'll be right back." "Tighnari : Okay."
soft cyno and cyrus interaction, there are things that cannot be said, but the emotion is so palpable
overall i had a really great experience with this quest!! it was so great to see everyone in sumeru again and to develop the lore + character relationships. this really expanded upon cyno as a character, a person, rather than the figure of authority/power he is seen as, and established how important his family ties are to him
as for haikaveh, i have THOUGHTS which i will expand upon at another time... but overall, the progression for them is very much present here and very promising! <3
Update: my analysis of haikaveh's progression is here!
#haikaveh#kavetham#cynonari#cyno story quest spoilers#alhaitham#kaveh#yes i still dont believe this quest happened#there’s so much to unpack here and i’ve only just begun#the coffee motif symbolic of domesticity and serenity for haikaveh is making go CRAZY#they have improved so much since a parade of providence#thank u @ homoverse

🎃 Halloween Shenanigans Pt.2 🎃
Pairing: Jason Todd x Reader
A/N: i’m like the only one wearing a halloween themed shirt on campus rn so im kinda sad no one wanted to be festive 😭 but HAPPY HALLOWEEN ✨😌✨ i’ve been busy with exams this week, so sorry for the short drabbles lately, but ENJOY :) comment if your comfortable, reblog and u will get some flowers 💐 and like if u can <3
Tags: MATCHING HALLOWEEN SHIRTS, worried jason, reader is going to give jason more white hair, pumpkin carving
Check out pt. 1 here!
You grabbed the two round pumpkins, setting them on the table right next to each other. Each picked with the intention to carve them.
“Maybe we should’ve grabbed some carving tools cause all I’ve got are the stuff from my patrol.” Jason came out, wearing the same Halloween themed shirt as you did, holding onto very sharp and dangerous knives that he kept somewhere deep in his utility belt. “They’re clean by the way.”
You glanced over to where he was standing. You watched how he effortlessly handled them.
“Do you trust me with those?” You asked him, raising an eyebrow in question while glancing at the glistening edges of the recently sharpened knives.
“Uh…” Jason contemplated, staring at your eyes shining at the opportunity to handle something so deadly. “Maybe I can run to the store.”
He started to safely put them away.
“They’ve practically replaced all the Halloween stuff with the next holiday items, so we have no choice.” You started to reach for the utility belt.
“And leave you with a knife dangerous enough to cut through Batman’s grappling lines? Yeah, that’s a great idea.” Jason started to turn around to put back his patrol gear.
“Wait! I have you. You’ll help me.” You tried to reason. “It’s also Halloween, we can’t go to the store, there will be nothing there.”
Jason looked back at you, mentally listing all the dangers. His white streak of hair drooping as low as his frown when he couldn’t find a sliver of reason.
“Pleaaaase.” You kept persisting.
Jason sighed.
“This is a horrible idea.”
“Yay!” You cheerfully walked back to the table, getting out a sheet of paper, inking Red Hood’s emblem on it. You were originally planning to do a ghost design, but you had to make sure Jason would let you carve this pumpkin tonight, no matter what.
And if that meant being a suck up, then you were carving that emblem like your life depended on it.
Jason sighed again as he pulled out the chair next to you, watching you draw.
“You really aren’t holding back.” He pulled your chair right next to his, resting his arm on the back to minimize some distance between you.
“Only cause Red Hood is the most handsome, amazing as hell, sexiest vigilante in the entire world.” You smiled wide, patting Jason affectionately on the cheek to seal the deal.
He grabbed your hand, pecking a small kiss to the inside of your wrist.
Gleefully you leaned back, turning your head to kiss his shoulder. The fabric of your matching shirts meeting the edge of your mouth.
You got back to your art piece, trying to make sure the design was perfect.
As Jason watched you, you just let the thoughts of your mind run out. Dinner plans, did you get enough candy for tonight, how you planned to watch all the horror movies you could.
It was questions filled with excitement to Jason as he nuzzled into you, giving as fast of responses as he could, but a big smile was on his face as he listened to you talk and ramble.
“Maybe I could dress up as you next year.” You thoughtlessly said, puncturing holes in the pumpkin for your outline.
Jason’s eye widened. He strangely really liked the idea. A little too much.
“Could you imagine me saving you?” You chuckled to yourself, imagining trying to carry Jason in your arms to safety. “I might have to start exercising to build up the muscle.”
You started your plan in your head. Your eyebrows lowering and nodding as you were starting to like the plan.
“Then I can take a photo of me carrying you, dressed as you.” You looked back at Jason, seriously meeting his gaze.
He was taken back, at your intensity and the clear devotion you were willing to put in.
“You can’t carry me.” Jason lazily shook his head, reaching up to rub the back of your neck affectionately.
“Just you wait. I’m gonna do it.” You turned back to carving. Determination seeping into your veins.
Jason let you get back to mentally planning as he worriedly watched your every move. This was a very dangerous activity. He shouldn’t have let you do this at all.
Once your arms were getting tired from carving, you put the knife down.
“If I can’t even carve this, how will I carry you?” You leaned back into your chair, back into Jason’s side.
“I can finish it.” He kissed your temple.
“No, I’m determined.” You puffed.
Jason was going to break out into a cold sweat.
—
After much arm strength and a piece of candy, you managed to carve out the pumpkin, but it wasn’t that good.
There were knife marks in areas you didn’t mean to put, it was a miracle that you managed to get the general shape of the bat symbol.
“Maybe I’ll let you be the one to handle the knives from now on.” You put the candle in the hallowed center, gently lightning the carving.
You admired your work despite how clumsy it looked.
“It’s perfect.” Jason was finally breathing, he held every breath each time you stabbed the pumpkin.
“Let’s put it outside!” You placed the pumpkin outside your front door.
Jason had managed to carve his, the iconic pumpkin face next to yours. He finished his as quickly as he could since he didn’t want to leave you unsupervised for too long.
He definitely won’t forget another carving kit after this year.

Good Neighbors | part five
König x Reader
part one part two part three part four | masterlist
CW: reader has feminine pronouns, not edited (like trust me on this, I just wrote this)
note: im so sorry for putting this on the back burner for the past couple of months!! my own Carol had a really tough past few months, and after going to the hospital the first week of December, and spending the two months in the hospital/rehab, she's just now is starting to settle in back home and get back into the swing of living at home comfortably again. when I first started this, I guess I didn't realize how much this was pulling from my own relationship with her and the inevitable future with her, and it hit a bit too close to home to touch this recently, but between her being on the upswing again and the rest of the states going to shit I figured it was a good time to write and make something fun for me again. let me know your thoughts! (but also I'm so sorry for not editing this, I just wanted to get this out, and I'll probably come back to edit this at some point)
These past couple of weeks, you and König had spent almost every day together, whether working on some project around the house or Carol just convincing König to come spend time with her in the living room watching her shows, König was there. He was still that strange man you first met not too long ago, but strangely enough you’ve grown accustomed to his odd bluntness and stoicism.
After building the ramp together, loosely using the word together – more like König taking the lead and you following his directions, you were going out of your way more to ask for his help or thoughts on projects. But in reality, you didn’t even need to ask for his help, you just had to tell him what you planned on working on that day and König would take that as invitation to take over as project leader.
A couple of weeks ago when you first made your list with Carol on different project ideas around the house, you really did think you were capable of getting them all done on your own, because really, how hard could any of these projects be? You had youtube and google, and you weren’t the first person to try and remove an old vanity and install a new one, someone had to have posted a video on how to do it.
Flash forward to you sitting on the ground next to the sink in the bathroom, all of the cleaning products pulled out from underneath the sink piled around, with your phone playing through your third youtube video on how to properly disconnect the water valves without flooding your bathroom. You hadn’t heard Carol invite König into the house, but sure enough there he was standing in the open bathroom doorway asking “what are you doing?” with a raised eyebrow and a slight twinge to his usually tone.
When you tried to explain your thought process on how you were going to quickly uninstall the old vanity and drag in the new one to just as quickly install the new one, he just gave you a quick scoff before adding “by yourself? Do you even know what you are doing?”
“It can’t be that hard, I’ve watched a couple videos on it” you grimace, holding your phone out to show him the now paused video. But instead of giving you a nod and leaving to go join Carol again, like he was originally invited over to do, he quickly encroached into your space, crouching and mumbling a quick ‘move over’.
From there, he took over, explaining how what you were doing was wrong and how each of the valves needed to be adjusted, and in his mind, he really thought he was being a great teacher, but when he realized he hadn’t actually heard from you the whole time he was under the sink, he feared he might’ve accidentally overstepped and been rude, like so many in the past had told him he had.
But when he looked back at you, you quickly moved your eyes from underneath the sink to his, giving him a quick apprehensive smile and asked ‘everything alright?”. He wasn’t prepared for you to still be invested and giving him your attention, so when you did ask him is everything okay, he just gave you a quick, curt nod before turning back to double check everything was turned off and removed from the sink so you couldn’t see the heat crawling up his neck and cheeks.
The rest of the vanity project was a foreshadowing into what was to come with the other projects in the weeks following, König using his brute strength and knowledge to take the lead and you offering your skills in a more practical sense, like offering to hold things in place or grabbing the right tool so he didn’t lose his place.
Whatever you asked him to help with he agreed to, didn’t matter the project, and there were even some days that you had to force him to put the tool bag down and call it night, remind him that you could pick up the project tomorrow, it didn’t need to be finished in one day.
You appreciated his care for his work, he was meticulous, took the time to review each angle, cut, and drill, to make sure that each and every move was perfect. It encouraged you to do the same, even if there wasn’t as much pressure for perfection on your part. The two of you had accomplished quite a list of small projects around the house these past few weeks, like installing the new vanity and mirror in the bathroom, repainting the same bathroom, as well as painting the hallways on the first floor, setting up the bigger goals of replacing the crown moldings in the hallways, and finally making it to the upstairs bigger renovation projects for the bathroom and bedrooms up there.
At some point these past few weeks, König had gotten into the habit of just letting himself into the house in the morning, you can’t really blame him though, you know how demanding Carol can be in making sure people feel welcome. She’ll remind you with a forceful tone that you are family and welcome here whenever if she likes you, and she expects you to act that way. So, when he stepped into the kitchen to join the two of you having a cup of coffee you weren’t really shocked at his presence.
When he asked you your plans for the day, you quickly pulled out the now ratty sticky note from your back pocket, scanning over which project would be worth it to start today, but before you could settle on one, Carol spoke up.
“How about hanging up some curtain rods in my bedroom for me?” The two of you nodded and agreed, should be easy enough for two people to complete, especially in one day. It would be a nice break from the long-term projects the two of you have been working on so far. As you finished up your breakfasts, she explained how they were a gift from your uncle, to help her sleep in later, but he had never come back to set them up for her, so they’ve just been sitting in their original boxes on top of her dresser since then.
“We’ll take care of them, not a worry.” König replied, soothing her in the same way you were itching to, helping her out was not a nuisance to you. She took König’s words as truth and left you two to go get ready for the day, and leaving for her doctor’s appointment with a quick ‘bye’ and a ‘thank you!’.
It was easy for König and you to fall into your return when working on the home projects, it mostly consisted of him taking the lead, assessing the different requirements, and assigning different roles to you as needed – which honestly, you appreciated. There was no questioning his leadership skills, he made it clear what was expected of you, even if it was something as silly as telling him when the rod holders looked even on the wall.
“Uhh…like a fraction lower on that one” you say sitting from the end of your grandmother’s bed, currently lacing one of the curtains onto the rod, watching König stand by the end, holding the bracket to the wall, waiting with his pencil to mark to where to put the drill holes.
“Are you sure?” König pauses, taking a small step back, looking up at the area above the window, trying to assess if he really had to lower it a bit our not, trying to line up with the pencil scratch marks on the other side of the window.
Sitting up a bit you try to give it another look, but doubling down you add “no yeah, a little bit lower.”
König gives it one more look, but when he steps forward back up to the window to make the marks through the bracket, you can hear mutter something along the lines of well alright, and scratches the pencil through the holes of the bracket to mark where the screws will go.
You finish lacing the second curtain onto the rod, and hop off the bed to join König by the window. Stepping up onto your stool next to him, nearing his height, but still not very close, you say “it’s crazy how tall you are.”
“It’s crazy how short you are,” König responds bluntly, plainly, and you would’ve annoyed if it weren’t for the small smirk growing on his lips. König asks you to hand him the right side’s bracket and holds the bracket up the guiding marks, “hand me the drill?” You nod and quickly grab the drill off of the dresser, handing it off to him. Wordlessly, your hand replaces his on the bracket, as you plop the screws into his outstretched hand. Easily, the drill whirls to life and the first screw goes without a concern, and then the second just as easily, but before the third, he pauses.
You notice König wince out of the corner of your eye, “you alright?” you ask still holding the curtain bracket up to the wall. He gives you a small nod and a gruff mhm, before tossing the drill softly onto your grandmother’s dresser. “Give me a second” he says lowly, while rolling his left shoulder back. Re-adjusting your stance on the stepstool, keeping one hand on the bracket, you turn your body to side to check him over, ‘you sure?’ you ask one more time nervously.
“hmph, uh think you can handle the rest of them?” König asks unwillingly, pretending to scratch at his shoulder, while really adjusting it one more time.
“Oh yeah, of course, can’t be too hard” you nod a König with a smile, as he reaches around you to grab the drill. Placing it your hand, he switches spots with you, now holding the bracket with his good arm, as you hold the drill in one hand and the screw in the other.
König talks you through the process, ‘you want a 90-degree angle, higher, alright stop, slowly press the trigger down while pushing in slightly’, keeping his free hand just slightly above your hip, just in case you lose your balance. And just like that the first bracket is free standing on it’s against the wall. Smiling happily at him, you jump down from the step stool and drag it over with you to the other side of the window. The way he was smiling back at you in this moment made it hard to determine if his shoulder was still giving him trouble or not.
König attempts to let you try to do the whole bracket on your own this time, but he can’t help still slightly mumbling directions in your ear, blushing brightly when you side eye him. “I’ve got it” you mumble, your eyes moving back forward to focus on the screws ahead of you. König gives you a small nod and soft ‘mhm’ but doesn’t move his hand away from the small of your back, that just so happened to slide there…he just has to make sure you don’t fall off the stool. It’s not safe…that’s why.
After the curtain was fixed safely to the wall, and you were safely off the stepstool back on solid ground, you turned to König and saw him adjusting his shoulder once again. “So, what happened with your arm?”
“My shoulder,” he corrects, “and it’s nothing just messed it up at work is all.”
“Doesn’t seem like nothing,” you mutter a bit, while packing the drill and screws back into the tool bag off of Carol’s dresser, “that why you’ve been home?”
“Uh, yeah” König pauses softly, before going on to explain how he’s military, and gives you very surface level information on what his work includes, and how he hurt his shoulder and ribs. He lets on more information though about his plans for physical therapy soon, and how once that’s done, he’ll finally being able to get back to work. “Well, it’s not that I haven’t enjoyed the time off, I’ve enjoyed helping you and Carol with the projects around the house, it’s just…” König stumbles over his words a bit, and pause trying to think of his next words carefully, not to offend you or Carol.
“You like the routine?” you ask, König responding with a well yes, I guess so. “So, do you want me to get you some ice? Or I guess a heating pad would probably be better for you…” You say stepping out of your grandmother’s room, not even waiting to hear his response, as you were already on your way to the medical closet in your bathroom to grab the heating pad. And yet König just follows you softly, not questioning you, even if he’s slightly uncomfortable with someone doting on him.
Heating pad in hand, you quickly turn out of the bathroom, letting out a soft ‘-oop’, not expecting the brick wall of a man to be right around the corner, waiting for you. “Oh geez, sorry I wasn’t expecting you there!” you laugh softly, brushing off the encounter, not noticing the slight pink hue crawling up his neck and cheeks, “go sit on the couch, we’ll get you settled with the heating pad there” adding with little room for questioning. You shoo him along and force him to settle on the couch, letting out a quick ‘it’s not a problem’, when you catch him mumbling a soft thank you when you get the heating pad set up snugly on his shoulder.
“Can I grab you something?” You say stepping back from his space on the couch, looking down with a smile, and list off his options “food, drinks, you water?” He’s quick to give you a quick polite no I’m okay, you don’t have to, but you brush it off with a promise of a water and something for him to snack on.
König not used to someone just being kind to him and doting him, it makes his chest heavy and his head swirl a bit. No one’s really cared for him like this before, at least not outside of his family. Thankfully you return back to the living room spritely and knock him out of his spiral of thoughts of what these feelings might just mean to him. After placing the food in front of him, you quickly grab the blankets tossed softly across Carol’s chair next to couch, just now noticing how messy the area seemed to have gotten recently.
“Are you going to sit and join me?” He asks looking at the plate of fruits, veggies, and cheeses you placed in front of him and up to you with a shy smile.
“Uh yeah” you noticing that he quickly glanced to the open “just one second” you say before finishing placing the folded blanket back on the arm of Carol’s seat, debating whether to squeeze into the spot next to him on the couch, or to sit an awkward length away in Carol’s seat. Thankfully you’re saved from the weighty decision as you notice Carol’s car roll into her parking spot in the driveway. “Oh, she’s home, one second” you leave König on the couch, and prance over to the front door to help Carol into the house.
Just from the way she slammed her car door, you can tell the doctor’s appointment must’ve gone a different way than she expected. König watches you guide her in to the house, helping her shake off her coat, before giving her the same script offering her food and drink, while helping her settle into her chair. Carol just nods along, and once she settled, you step back to head into the kitchen, that’s when you ask your questions, trying to figure out what lead to her to feel so upset. ‘Everything okay? …how was the doctor’s appointment?...she say anything important?’
Carol just brushes you off with a muttered ‘everything is fine’, and when you re-enter the living with a plate of snacks for her and a smile, asking everything?’ where she lets you in
about her how glucose levels and limiting sweets ‘but really that’s it’. You give her a look not fully believing her but relent nonetheless, trying to ask casually you say “so did she send you home with the print out with the summary of the appointment?” as you place the food in front of her, on her tray and step back to lean against the doorframe.
In the past, Carol has been a bit accidentally forgetful on what her doctor has mentioned to her at these meetings, so it was part of the agreement that she would bring home a summary of the appointment if she wouldn’t let you join her at the appointment, but most recently, she just has been accidentally forgetting those too or the office just ran out of printer ink and she just didn’t feel like waiting. But this time, she doubles down with a “just leave it, she said everything’s fine” in a tone you haven’t heard since you were a little kid.
You honestly forgot that König was still resting on the couch until you heard him awkwardly readjust, too caught up in your conversation with Carol. And it seems Carol felt the same - “oh, my goodness what happened to you everything alright?” she asked him in a much more positive tone, like the previous conversation had not happened, pointing to the heating pad resting on his arm. His eyes quickly shifted from you to Carol, back to you, but when you turned to head back into the kitchen, he explained to her casually what had happened to his shoulder, not with as much detail as he had done with you just earlier that day.

Hey everyone im making this post because i see the engagement and donations for palastnian go fund me's have become almost zero, im here to appeal to you to pick it up again but at the same time tell you a new reason why you should
And its not because of anything anyone else is talking about its because of winter
Winter
Yes you heard me right winter
Now let me explain something about the winters in this region, im north African and im privileged enough to have a home and little money to buy a blanket and
I still almost died twice from the sudden drops of temperature especially at night.
I was wearing six layers every single heavy clothes i had and it wasn't enough because i dont have enough money to buy more higher quality sweaters and wool clothes i had to make do with what i had and it still isnt enough
Both times i had to be rushed to the hospital and both times i was told i was on the brink of death
We dont have snow here its a desert climate but that means when its cold its DRY cold no humidity no vapour nothing if your body like mine can't adjust fast enough to the sudden sharp drops of temperature then you are cooked. Winters are a truamtic time for me every time the weather starts to turn i have multiple panic attacks and become extremely paranoid and depressed because i know im going to suffer this is all again with me having a home and little winter clothes
Palastnians and palastnian children have to face this cold without being able to afford winter clothes without having a home or a blanket or heavy clothes socks or shoes or a fire or any heat source.
What am i asking you then?
Im asking you while you are preparing for winter this year and buying a new coat or a blanket please consider donating the price of a second coat or blanket to any go fund me you find. It would be like buying 2 coats or 2 blanket and gifting the second one to a palastnian friend.
I share go fund me's here every day as much as i can while trying not to get shadow banned but you can go to any of the vetted lists being shared on tumblr and pick up one or go to this lovely person who shares vetted fundraisers and pick one.
Also here is a google document with more vetted links this is the original one and most trustworthy as its made by palastnian people.
Remember anything helps.
Thank you guys ❤️
Free Palestine, free the world.

I make fandom art I make porn I make stuff that makes me miserable and I make stuff that makes me happy and I follow all the advice online but still nobody likes my art. I know it's good art and im not insecure about my talent level but no matter what I post or where I post it, nobody wants to like or interact with my art at all. I know people see it I know people are scrolling past without acknowledging what I make and it fucking sucks. I don't have friends to share stuff I make with and nobody online cares clearly. What do you do when nobody likes you or what you offer.
Good question. This response involves some of my history. I try to talk about my experiences at a comfortable distance. But please skip to the 'Solutions' part if you're bored.
My thoughts below:
It's painful. I have a lot of memories of high intensity pain due to no one engaging with me, at school and online. 'If I live in the same world as others, but it still feels like I am in a world with just myself, what is the point of trying to make things? Sure, I will feel better about myself as I grow, but I've still got no one to grow with, so I am just talking to myself. Amusing myself is fine, but I want to reach a level of fun above amusement, a level that others seem to reach so naturally.'
In fact, maybe you are less 'outward' with your emotions, but as a child and teenager and young adult, there was a lot of screaming and crying and thrashing about 'not being granted the ability to make things others will seriously engage with me about.'
(The pain remained after making a few friends during teenage years. The pain's attitude shifted slightly to accommodate this new life change of gaining friends. Much later, even after I became an artist with a large visible number of 'followers/people interested in something you make', the pain shifted its shape around this life change again. "People make bad assumptions of me because I have a big visible number in my profile and most websites do not give me the ability to hide that number." Summary: If your pain/frustration still remains after you gain a friend or find people who engage you, don't beat yourself up. Emotions don't work in such a way that the outcomes you desire are only guaranteed to make you happy and no other emotions will rise.)
Although I loved to look at art on websites since I was a child, one may assume I enjoyed the community aspect. I did, but only as a spectator for the vast majority of the time, since age restrictions and the harsh attitudes that exist to 'prevent the weak from touching the strong' was present in many of the sites I visited. Similar to how children get frustrated when another child cannot keep up with their play, but the child that is 'left out' can still enjoy watching other kids play from afar. It makes perfect sense to me these feelings will always exist in the world no matter what 'social media' websites people invent.
Anyway, two solution attempts in succession I tried over long-term:
1. My first attempt at a solution was immersing myself in a fantasy world I created in my mind and I held my imagination in high esteem. "I know my imagination takes influence from the things I read and admire, so it's not such a lonely world anyway." Creating episode lists of imaginary cartoon episodes and such, so dedicated to something I hardly told anyone about. It felt good. But my friends had original characters too, and they could describe their personalities and dynamics to others naturally and quickly, likely due to their earlier experiences with 'communicating ideas to others.' I was quiet and envious. Although it was fun to play with the imaginary characters in my head, I decided to take another step. Of course I could not simply go back in time to gain the similar social experiences my friends had. But I could use that desire to 'go back in time' to 'go forward in time' and gain the experience.
2. Engage in others first. Because I spent a long time in my imagination, I felt more secure about myself, so I wanted to extend the feeling of 'caring about my own work' to 'caring about others' work on an equal level.' The internet allows you to assess people before engaging to see if your compatibility might be okay. If someone had posts that resonated with me, I tried to say 'hello, I like what you posted/I like your drawing because [...]' Even if the contact ended there, it was a good practice. Gently communicate with people over time. Especially since I am sure there are people who rarely receive questions about their artworks who would love someone to engage with them as well. Of course do not do this in a 'pity' sense – you have to genuinely find something that 'touches your heart' and if the artist seems to not get much curiosity in regards to their art, you can go ahead and try to express your curiosity to them. Keep posting whatever you like, but if you engage with others, you may find someone engaging with you without even expecting it, and that is fun.
(I think society should practice finding genuine value in things they like even if they see nobody has touched it. Not pity, but removing the "does anyone else like this? If I see no one else liking this, it must be a bad thing to like, so I won't engage" attitude. Some of my favourite artwork has maybe 5 visible 'bookmarks/favorites' on an art-focused website.)

MAGIKEY (TWST AU) BY @quartztwst !!
im going to PASS AWAAAAYYYYY IM SOSO TIRED. BUT ITS DONE. but anyway, more on evelyn...
Evelyn [Magikey User "Luna Luceat"]
“Hurry up, I'm gonna pass out."
Evelyn is an 18 year old girl and has been a magical girl for 4 years, since she was 14. In her magical girl form, she comes off as mysterious and aloof... but she's really just thinking about going home. She has occasionally breached the top 10 of Magical popularity rankings, but she mostly tries to keep to herself, vanishing immediately after her work is done. Oftentimes, she finished things so quick that the public is unaware.
A quiet, sleepy girl who is jaded from her years as a magical girl.
Status:
Mental/Emotional Strength: ★★★★☆ (She's hard to crack since she's used to her job, but her constant exhaustion can become a vulnerability if left untreated for too long.)
Physical Strength: ★★★☆☆ (She's moderately strong as her staff is fairly hefty, and she does swing with it sometimes.)
Stamina: ★★☆☆☆ (This girl is tired as FUCK LMFAO. She uses her little floating platform to move because she doesn't want to actually run.)
Strategy: ★★★★★ (Evelyn is very calculated with her moves as her goal is to get the job done as fast as possible to go home and SLEEP.)
Strengths: Evelyn is very experienced and keeps a close eye on all of her teammates, making sure they can operate effectively. She is especially strong during the nighttime in a full moon.
Weaknesses: Evelyn is constantly exhausted because she only works during the nighttime as that is when her powers are most effective. A daytime attack would leave her extremely vulnerable.
Evelyn lives with her little brother in their childhood home. Their parents are usually overseas on business trips, so they don't see them in person very often. Evelyn's brother is aware that she works during the night time, but doesn't know that she's a magical girl.
Evelyn grew up very sheltered, being homeschooled by tutors hired by her parents. She was very lonely and she didn't really speak to her brother. She accumulated a massive amount of hobbies to pass time, one of those being gazing at the moon on her balcony, wishing for something to change.
Her wish was granted the night of her 14th birthday, with her magikey falling into her hands after gazing at the moon for the nth time. She eagerly and naively accepted, thinking that this was everything she hoped for.
Unfortunately, she soon came to realize that the nature of her abilities forced her to be sleep deprived if she wanted to do anything much outside of being a magical girl. After her second year of being a magical girl, her enthusiasm fully died, and now she just tries to get by until she can go home. (she still really likes her outfit though, LOL)
After a shift as a magical girl, Evelyn will usually rush inside a convience store, grab snacks, pay and bolt home. She hates staying for overtime even by 5 minutes... though, she's willing to grab some stuff for her brother if he asks for it.
Evelyn is technically enrolled in theMagikey Training School, but she rarely shows up to classes. If she does, she's usually sleeping in them, though she doesn't mind a chance to show off once in a while. The instructors tend to leave her alone whenever this happens, as they're aware of how hard she works.
She does try to be nice towards her juniors though. She fetches them treats once in a while.
uncharted lore territory!! i didnt watch madoka magica or anything so idk if this fits in at all so im warning in advance lol. this is adjacent to evelyn's ACTUAL lore within the original canon twst, which is why it's here. i will make a separate post explaining further later on
Evelyn has a secret. One that isn't her being a magical girl. She has not told crowley, nor any of her magical colleagues, and she does not intend to— at least not for now. However, this secret does leave her susceptible to... negative feelings.

Crowdsourcing a Fic Rec List: Stucky & Peter Parker
Well, look at that!
Due to the numerous responses to this post, and since things have become a little cluttered there (different reblog threads, some recs are in tags or in comments, etc), I thought it would be a shame if anything got lost. So, I decided to compile a list of all the submitted recs for Stucky fics that also feature Peter Parker. Of course, I couldn't help myself and added a rec of my own. Fics that were mentioned multiple times are only listed once, and, if one was provided, I kept the original commentary. I hope I credited everyone correctly. If I got something wrong or missed anything, please let me know.
Thank you to everyone who shared recs, commented, or reblogged the original post to get more eyes on it. You're all wonderful! 💙
Here we go:
💙 recommended by @thankssaragorn
🕸 taking my time but I don't know where by cosmicocean | 35K, T so much fun, post-TWS Bucky lowkey mentoring Peter in being a hero and then some family and healing stuff, very sweet. 🕸 Steve Rogers Is (Not) A Good Influence by attackofthezee | 4K, T a goofy oneshot where Peter joins Steve on his Bucky-hunt. 🕸 the rattle of their hearts by iron_spider | 59K, T | part 1 of 2 in rattle universe series an IW fix-it where Tony & Steve try to fix things and Peter & Bucky are trapped in the soul stone together, also trying to fix things. Features irondad if that ain't your thing. 🕸 Dear Teacher, With Love by fancyh | 61K, T doesnt ~strictly~ fit the prompt but i love it so much im always gonna rec it. Bucky becomes a HS teacher post-TWS and Peter is in his class they rlly don't interact a ton but I just love this fic i can't help it.

🕸 Steve and Bucky low key adopt Peter Parker by Andthrowmethekey | series in 3 parts | 3.5K, T 🕸 Drive It Like You Stole It: A Bodyswap by AggressiveWhenStartled | 28K, E | part 1 of 2 in The Old Codgers GreatestHits Album series
🤍 recommended by @eternalspine
🕸 longing, rusted, seventeen, daybreak by honeycombclaire | 96K, M | part 1 of 2 in trigger words series Peter being raised by Bucky in Hydra as an assassin but he was Tony’s biological son that had been kidnapped as a toddler. I literally cannot say enough good things about this fic you should all go read it right now. I would inject it in my veins if I could. It genuinely took me several days to be normal again after reading it. There’s even a sequel!
💙 recommended by @arctic-turtle-cassiopeia
🕸 Astronomy in Reverse by pansley | 185K, T
❤ recommended by @maplefiasco
🕸 Make it Till You Fake It by AggressiveWhenStartled | 4K, E another super fun one by [this author]. 🕸 When I Am On Your Shoulders by Lady_Blackwater | 165K, M Steve reconnects with Bucky while going through a divorce from Tony and trying to navigate parenting their teen son Peter. I remember binging this in a day, I couldn't put it down.
🤍 recommended by @funkylittlelurker
🕸 Is this child Venomous? by rWolfWrites | 80K, M | part 1 of 4 in Stucky Shares Custody of Peter Parker series It's angsty as all get out, but it has a happy ending. Basically, it's a HYDRA Peter AU, wherein Peter is an asset right along Bucky. Peter is like, 12 at the youngest, so it's mcu Peter, don't worry. Bucky drops Peter off a Steve's house, designation Steve as Peter's new Handler. You can see why this might be bad. I won't spoil much, but the Maximoff twins also come into play! (Bucky saves them)
💙 recommended by @leihaddock
🕸 The Trials and Tribulations of the Watermelon Werewolf by BlueSimplicity | 67K, E Explicit between Steve and Bucky & Bucky basically lowkey adopts Peter. 🕸 Rainbow Dinosaurs by holla_the_forestfairy | ~1K, G short but sweet queer story
❤ recommended by @fsbc-librarian
🕸 Peter & Bucky Are Pals by DJ_unicornsrgr8 | series in 11 parts | 147K, G-T This series is set in the verse of Owlet's Infinite Coffee and Protection Detail, which is absolutely wonderful. 🕸 Steve Rogers' Dad Face and Other Common Hazards by AggressiveWhenStartled | 4K, T | part 1 of 4 in Workplace Hazards series 🕸 we leave through the fire by justanotherblond | 41K, T | part 1 of 3 in timshel series -> Also, always worth checking out the library for more fics!
🤍 recommended by @booksandabeer
🕸 Praetorian by RecoveringTheSatellites | 28K, M | part 1 of 2 in Amor Manet series Historical AU featuring Bucky as a pagan witch, Steve as a disgraced former Praetorian Guard, and Peter as a young recruit to the Roman army. Maybe a bit of a cheat, since Peter is not central to the story, but in the moments he does appear, he definitely makes an impression, and what we get to see of his mentor-mentee relationship with Steve really resonates. Also, look, this is just a banger of a fic with lots of action and romance that everyone should read.

🕸 Extra special treat! Drew shared a whole other fic rec list that she made a few months ago. Yay!
Once again, thank you so much to everyone who contributed to this crowdsourced rec list—you're all fantastic!
