just started animating after procrastinating starting it for years and im already going insane, any tips?
Four things I feel is important to note
Analyze other animations, note things you like and why, slow it down and take in the frames
Go easy on yourself, permit mistakes, make it messy, if there's something you could've done better that you realize after you made the animation then use that knowledge for the future
Take care of yourself!!! Eating, staying hydrated, getting good sleep, all that is super important outside of animating and super important when animating
And. PLAN your animations, each scenario you want, write down how you want the characters to move, I don't normally do this (DON'T FOLLOW MY EXAMPLE 🙏) but it's super helpful when I do
For the animating part itself, I'm not sure how to word it, things I found help me when animating is
- Lower FPS (I usually go with 9-11)
- Playing with duplicated frames, a common thing I do is duplicate frames to avoid redrawing them so much
- Not caring if the outline is blurry, distorted, or messy because I used the lasso tool to correct something. As long as it looks smooth, you know what you're looking at, and it gets the job done
- What I call "fade ins/outs". For example, you have two keyframes (move hand from A to B), you redraw the first one but slightly different (Hand moves like 2 pixels or smth), you redraw it again (hand moves 7 pixels), middle frame (between A and B), and do the exact same process but backwards
BUT a things I want people to know because I see it a lot and it makes me itch in a bad way
- When lip syncing, unless the anatomy of the character is different, or you have a style that fits it, THE JAW ALWAYS GOES DOWN. Your focus should be on opening it downwards
- CONSISTENCY, while your sketches may be lazy, please keep them consistent to the original frame. Don't stray TOO far from the keyframe, like something's too big, or the size keeps changing, or even in cases of lip syncing where the way it moves is different each time (Up down up down up down left up, yk??). THIS ONLY EVER WORKS if the situation calls for it!!!
((I've done tgis before witg lip syncing....))
- PLEASE. Note how to use smear frames. In small movements, it's not necessary, someone raising their arm doesn't need a giant smear to do. Use them when there's exaggerated, quick motions, and make sure there's still form to it so it's not just a blob
(Completely off topic, but there was a trend on tiktok with a filter where they'd make a hand shift into another thing like 🤚 to ✌️, and it bothered me so much because EVRRYYY time there was a smear frame BUT IT WASN'T NECESSARY and sometimes even ruined it)
- Don't be afraid to skip middle frames, like when someone's shaking an item in their hand, as long as the two keyframes are there and a few extra frames after the action, it should be alright, or when someone's laughing
I think that's about all I can say

WE’RE ALL SYNCED NOOO…. everyone remember to rest and eat and hot water bottles help with cramps but don’t burn urselves .. and maybe take some paracetamol too (or ibuprofen if ur feeling silly) my mother swears by it . I think it’s just a desi thing and like willpower i forgot tje term but like . when u believe something will help u so much it does . But it works for me..
AND HONEY WATER!! i will stand by honey water till the day i die just boil some water and add some honey and wait for it to cool (don’t burn ur throats guys) Or just add a bit of cold water like i do and supposedly that helps with a sore throat and it makes u feel all warm and fuzzy . my Dad taught me the first one he says its cause of the texture i never fact checked that
i’m getting carried away with the random food things ONE MORE FOR GOOD LUCK if u want . to make Desi chai . boil half a cup of water and put tjat in a tiny saucepan with the teabag, one cardamom (make sure u crack it open so the tiny little seeds drop out), like a Teaspoon of fennel seeds or something idk i just add whatever amount looks good, and optionally a little bit of cinnamon (again i just wing it just add a small bit) and some sugar/sweetener and let that all simmer for like 30 seconds while u get half a cup of milk and pour that into ur saucepan . Thenn you wanna mix that around a bit and leave it all to . cook? that doesn’t sound like the right word… whatever. leave it for a few minutes and ur final step is when the chai starts rising u let it rise to the top and then turn down the heat and let it sink (i have a gas stove but if you have an electric ermm just set it aside for two secs to sink i think that’ll work). let it rise and sink three times!!! this really makes the flavour pop according to my dad!! then just strain it and enjoy :3 i lovee chai it was inevitable being pakistani HAHA it always makes me feel better after anything whether i feel sick or something bad happens or if i’m just silly chai is just nice for any occasion . my phopo calls me an auntie but Likeee isnt being a rich brown auntie the life…… im not rich yet but one day guys trust
anyway that got long HAHA i love cooking and baking and stuff … and home remedies MEDICATION IS GOOD DONT GET ME WRONG but sometimes im too lazy to run to the shops and get some cough syrup or something so i just make some honey water .. please take ur meds and get vaccinated though guys ❤️ stay safe hope u liked my chai :3
do you know how many asks I've gotten saying they're also on their period literally why are all of my followers synced up WHAT IS THIS
everyone listen to our friend here. honey water sounds lovely I'll have to try it. usually I just go for drinking honey straight out of the bottle if I have a sore throat but I suppose honey water might work a bit better lol
also OOOO CHAI!! tbh I've always wanted to make chai at home because so often chai I've gotten in coffee shops just... isn't it. but when it's good it's so good. I'm going to take note of this so I can get some cardamom and fennel seeds from the store :))) so excited to try it

what software do you use to make ur digital art :0?
Firealpaca! Pretty sure it's only on computer so weh. I first found it around 2017, scrolling the animation meme community! It's a pretty good app for drawing, it's free, although it does lack some things other apps such as procreate or clip studio paint have to offer (but hey im broke so yay)(and also because I've used it so long and have just grown used to the app and am too lazy to change)
I also use it for animations, but adobe animate is better because it uses things like keyframes and tweens and allows me to import sound which helps with syncing. Firealpaca is better for the drawing part of it tho, so I use a combination of both :)

The singing is better in this one so i guess its better karaoke (but its not one take so im cheating at karaoke) but the other video is a better performance. I was thinking I'd do a bunch of segments and stitch them together but with live audio its kind of hard and like, being amused by making those same shapes with my voice is my entry point with the track. A lip sync is moot to me. So i cant make a tiktok style montage of shirt+tie combos because the audio transitions are fucked, plus i lost patience for doing it really fast because it breaks up the flow of changing outfits and modeling them too much. So with just two looks its less a montage and more a frankenstein. its like, well i did do 5 takes but 2 are with the same outfit and one ended up being better as a standalone so then i had 4 clips to pick the less error filled segments from and the editing makes it obvious i was cherrypicking (AND lazy because i only stitched together three clips from three takes), which is against the spirit of karaoke imo, and i didnt even finish the song. This video needs a closing look and like another couple looks to pick from to break up the middle. At least. After the one with the ears turned out cute i just totally bailed on making this one better.
Do i look whitecollar in this? I love collars...
Playing with my tie collection...
(I dont really like dorain electra but this track is a bop)
(It implies that modern/pomo era white collar capitalism revolves around lifestyle subs having authoritarian/fash "big man" fetishes + aspirations? Which is their entire analysis? Leading presumably to severely delayed & compounded burnout irl if true...or upward mobility lol, like ok boss u thread that needle)

How to bet your way into someone’s heart. (Highschool AU)
Pairing: Childe x fem!reader
Warnings: Fake weed. Poor Signora smh. Oh yes, lots of swearing. UNEDITED ASF IM LAZY BYE.
Synopsis: Childe is being an infatuated idiot, Lisa has eyes for vending machine chocolate, and Kaeya is desperately in need of a pencil. With all these distractions, there’s no way in hell you’ll be able focus on the task at hand.
This is crack.
I don’t have time.
You think as you race down the hallway, shoes slapping against the floor as you expertly dodge multiple students in your way.
Bullet. You're as fast as a bullet, because everyone around you is a blur and you don't stop, can't stop, not until you meet your target.
It's funny how one can accomplish many challenges and feats they were unable to, merely due to pressure. Pressure is a twisted ugly thing that can gnaw its way into the pit of your stomach and grow like a parasite. Pressure is a parasite that can either bring the best in you, or the worst, but at the cost of one's peace of mind.
"Move it Signora!" You shouted a warning at the senior blocking your way. There wasn't any time for you slow down at that point, and you'd risk bumping into the breakfast club's stall if you swerved to the side, sending juice flying everywhere.
Signora's eyes widened momentarily, getting the gist albeit her anger, and choosing to back up flatly against the locker.
Her lipstick nearly slips from her fingers as you swerve past, a thick gust of wind in your wake.
It messes with the hair she woke up two hours early for.
Signora plots her revenge. You still don't have time.
You nearly kick the door to your home room down, but you can't risk the perfect image your teachers have of you. So you pat down your t-shirt, take five tempting deep breaths, and tentatively knock the door.
The door opens and you're met with a young man, familiar amber pupils welcoming you.
You try not to huff and puff at the cost of your stamina. Thinking back, there's no way in hell you could have physically been that fast.
"Good morning Y/N," Your homeroom teacher gives you a small smile, moving aside to let you in. "Class is just about to start."
You check your watch, then turn to him with an apologetic tone, trying not to crack under the eyes of your classmates. "I'm so sorry Mr.Zhongli, I slept through my alarm."
Your idiot ass forgot to set one because you studied till four in the morning.
"You're like thirty seconds late, cut the shit." Beidou boos from the back, causing your stance to stiffen.
"I don't wanna hear it Beidou. If anything, you're two periods earlier than usual." Ningguang calls her out for you, but you have a feeling it's more so on behalf of a personal vendetta.
Ignoring the two bickering, Mr.Zhongli gives you the handout. "Take a seat. Do not fret over such minuscule things dear."
Relief washes over you. Your impeccable attendance is not on the line.
Childe tries to flag you down next to him but you send him a pointed glare and sit next to Lisa instead.
"You should give him a chance you know." Lisa doesn't even have to open her eyes to know what's going on.
"Please," You scoff, digging through your bags to collect your notes. "As if I have the time to fool around with a shady kid like him."
Your friend sighs in disapproval, and makes no move to take out her own notes as Mr.Zhongli begins the lecture on the Archon war.
"You should really pay attention." It bothers you that she doesn't, but then again it's not your place to tell her what to do or not to do.
"I don't need to." She yawns, blinking an eye open towards you. "I have you after all."
"I'm tired of saving your ass." You groan and pull a pen out of your pocket to get started on the exercises as Mr.Zhongli talks in the background.
The course outline contained all the topic, and you made sure to teach yourself as much as you could before class to stay ahead.
Immersed in the worksheet, you blinked away your sleep and tried to answer as many questions as you could at the moment. You didn't hear the slight shift next to you, and the change of breathing, or the rate of which time went by.
A familiar scent makes its way into your nostrils.
"Lisa. Why do you smell like mango juul juice." You know the scent from when Signora blew a mango flavoured fog in your face yesterday at lunch when you said you were hungry.
A chuckle erupts and you freeze in place. "That's because I'm not Lisa."
You blink. Once, twice, and then crane your head to the side to meet a pair of teasing cerulean eyes.
Fingers loosening in shock, the pen drops on the desk with a short thud.
You whisk your head towards the front of the classroom, and Mr.Zhongli is nowhere to be seen.
"There's no saving you now." Childe's smirk widens, and he scoots closer to you. "Mr.Zhongli had to get something from the staff room. The staff room is near the cafeteria."
"Which is also near the merch stall." You grumbled, bringing both hands to massage your temples as a headache is beginning it's reign.
"Tsk tsk. Smart girl. I'd like to add that he's forgotten his wallet in his office as well, which is in the south wing."
"Son of a..." You mutter underneath your breath, and opt to scoot further back, but your efforts are futile because your desk is in a corner.
Your next beacon of hope is Lisa, so you scan the room full of chattering students, only to find her pestering her crush, Jean.
Shit...there's nothing getting you out of this one.
"What did it take?" Is your only question, the despair starting to brew. How much did it take for your best friend to betray you?
"A dollar and fifty for vending machine chocolate."
You take a moment to breathe, calming your nerves and burying down the urge to screech. "What will it take?"
"For what?" Childe replies back innocently, and you can't believe how fast he can change masks. You almost give in.
"For you to leave me alone."
"Aww come on girlie," He whines, closing in the distance. "Don't be so cold."
What did your mom tell you that one time? Oh yes. That if you were ever backed against a wall, then just break the damn thing down.
Too bad it's figurative. You're just about ready to sock him in the face if you didn't know he was into that sort of thing.
"I'm serious about you," He says, and it sounds so real, so genuine, nearly makes you sputter. "See? I've even bought school supplies.
He unzips his light backback and spills the contents on the table.
A lone piece of paper flies out, a lighter, and a mechanical pencil with no lead that follows straight after. There's also a pocket knife that you choose to ignore.
You're not the least bit surprised.
"First of all, how the fuck are you passing this class. Second, do you really think I'm into nerds?"
"Well, considering that you are a nerd—"
"You're making things worse."
"My bad, my bad." He rubs the back of his neck sheepishly. "But on a serious note. I'll do anything."
You cross your arms. "I'm not just another one of your conquests Childe. It's not like I have the time. There are better things to do."
"You need to relax." He says so simply, with complete disregard as to what you are trying to say.
"I am relaxed." You reply, picking up your pen to continue your work. If he's going to annoy you, then you might as well get shit done while he's at it.
You're not wasting any more time.
"When was the last time you got a full eight hours of sleep?" His voice is soft, too soft, and it's not at all like the Childe you know.
Your pen stops momentarily, but you will yourself to continue writing. The words look fumbled, but you don't care. The best thing to do is get your work done and ignore the idiot next to you.
"C'mon, Zhongli won't be back for another half an hour at least. Let's go." He kicks the bottom of your chair to urge you.
The pen shakes in your hand, and you narrow your eyes at the paper, digging holes into poor question eight. "I'm trying to work here. Let me work." You'll say anything to get him off your back.
"Fine fine fine..." He raises both hands in mock surrender. "I'll stop bothering you."
Your ears perk up at that, and you turn to him so fast he has to hold in his laugh. "Really?"
"Yeah," Childe nods along, bringing your hopes up. "If you win a bet, that is." And they're back to ocean level.
You roll your eyes. There's always a catch. That doesn't mean you're any less interested.
"What's the bet?" You ask curiously, all your focus now on him. Just as he longed for from the very start.
He flicks a thumb towards the door, leaning closer to whisper next to your ear. "We bet when Zhongli comes back."
"Are you kidding me?" You aren't bothered at all at the close proximity, mainly because you're too tired and only care about the freedom that will come with your win.
Childe, however, is a completely different story. His heart is beating a thousand times a second, but his face doesn't show it. Not one bit.
Kaeya leans in from the seat behind you two, interested in what's going on. "Ooooh secrets."
"Shut up Kaeya." Childe and you monotonously drone in sync, still having your little staring contest.
The captain of the skating team smiles, about to ask—
"No. We don't have an extra pencil. Even if we did we wouldn't give it to you." Childe finally breaks his gaze to scare off Kaeya.
Kaeya raises a smug brow, and leans back in his chair like the jerkwad he is. "Then don't let me keep you two love birds."
That's all it takes for him to earn Childe's unwavering respect and loyalty for as long as he lives.
After the two are done creating an elaborate handshake as a mark of their newfound friendship, you decide to just forget about the handout. It's not like you're getting anything done anyways.
"Anyways, back to the bet." Childe says, resting his cheek on his fist as he stares at you dreamily. You try not to break under his gaze.
"If I win, you have to go on a date with me."
"No way in hell—"
"Then I'll bother you for the rest of highschool."
Highschool is eternity. You don't want to live through an eternity of this.
"Fine." You answer, and for the first time he sees genuine fear in your face, it makes him waver slightly. Not enough for him to pity you.
"If I win..." You trail, thinking loud and clear as you ignore the excited chatter of your classmates. "I want you to pay attention to class."
"What?" He exclaims incredulously, blinking in disbelief. "I thought you'd get me to stop talking to you altogether."
"If you're paying attention in class, you don't bother me as much and your grades go up." You grin smartly, and oh archons it livens his entire day up, and it's only nine in the morning.
"You care about my grades?" Childe bites back a smile.
"Not at all." You lie, and quickly look away. Woah the floor tile looking trippy.
He decides it's better to get on with the bet without causing you any more distress. After all, you've given him such cute facial expressions today. He's feeling quite generous.
Pulling out his cracked-as-shit latest model phone, he unlocks it and tinkers with it a bit before turning the screen towards you.
"We'll be using this to time both of our predictions at the same time. Whoever has the closer time to when he finally swings by is the winner." The rules are simply put, no room for error.
You tilt your head in confusion. "Why am I seeing a slime review?"
"SHIT!" Childe fumbles with his phone, aggressively tapping on the screen. He lowers his head and voice as if he's been through fifty consecutive hits in the face. "It's uh, Teucer's account."
"Yeah...okay." Is all you can say.
"Ok what do you bet?" He changes the topic to unfuck the situation.
Putting a finger in your chin, you think for a minute, calculating the average of all the times Mr.Zhongli has left the classroom for a considerable amount of time.
"Fifteen minutes." You're sure of it. It's like clockwork every day.
"Hmm..." Childe crosses his arms, seemingly in deep thought. "Five minutes." He places his bet, and both timers start simultaneously.
Five minutes?! Is he serious?
You laugh inwardly. This challenge is in the bag.
The sense of victory you feel dulls when your ears pick up the echo of footsteps nearing the classroom.. Both your heads snap up to the doors.
There's something scary about Childe once his competitive side comes out. "Looks like I've won." He turns to you, eyes darkening evilly.
"What? There's no way in hell a ginger is right." Your palms are clammed up, eyebrows furrowed in panic. You calculated every single variable, how could this be?
You race to the front, Childe right on your tail as the entire class clamps up. The footsteps get louder, causing even whispers to become total silence.
Then it hits you. The shitty music about getting bitches and bars playing on the other side.
The door is swung open by Childe, and you're face to face with an idiot sophomore with a speaker in his pocket.
Childe’s grin is long gone, and you sigh in relief.
The false alarm encourages the class to return back to their idle chatter.
"Scaramouche?" Childe spits, narrowing his eyes at the unamused boy. "I thought it was Signora's shift today."
By "shift" he means being a complete dickwad and scamming fake weed to students in return for their souls. It only really works on the freshmen.
The only reason the club still runs is because Signora threatened the principal with some sus pictures she snapped of him and his assistant.
"Apparently she had an emergency." Scaramouche explains, lowering the volume on his outdated beats pill. "Something about a hair appointment because she got ran into by a, and I quote "lecherous imbecile.""
You steer clear of the conversation, finding the whiteboard far more fascinating and worth your while.
A loud cough is heard from behind the kid, and you're met with a crestfallen look on your beloved teacher's face.
You go through a whiplash of emotions, becoming completely numb towards your loss.
"They were out of slow cooked bamboo shoot soup." He sighs, handing a stack of papers to Childe, who is wearing the fattest smirk on his face at his victory. "Please hand these out to your classmates Childe, and we will begin shortly."
You check down at the timer despite knowing who’s won. Five minutes and twenty five seconds. Somehow, you don't feel as dejected as you thought you'd feel.
Maybe the date will be fun. Maybe Childe isn't so bad. Maybe...you do have time to indulge in these sort of things. If he’s so hell bent on getting your attention, perhaps it’s possible that you can make some room in your heart for him.
However, all those thoughts fly out the window when Childe hands you the new worksheet.
“I hope you're ready for our date tomorrow. We'll be sparring till sundown, and after you’ll be feeding me with chopsticks." He winks, and it makes your heart flip even though all you want right now is to go to the bathroom and barf your guts out.
Feelings are complicated.
You smile back at him nauseously, tight lipped and all, then you pull out your phone, go on maps, and search for the closest cliffs to jump off of.
After he's done, Childe slouches back in his original seat with a different kind of enthusiasm, and opens up his messages. He texts Zhongli a "thank you <3".

A/n: this is really long I’m sorry!😂
Words: 2000 ca.
The cloud that erupted from your lips vanished into thin air, reminding you of the man who used to fan the smoke away from his reach. Now the spot next to you was empty, no one was complaining and no one was bugging you about being unhealthy. The thick joint was pressed between your lips once again, sucking the poison into your lungs. The relaxing plant infected your system and everything slowed down. The stars swimming above you dripped into the moon that was filled to the brim. You finished the joint, leaning back with a heart that was aching. Moving around you found the position that allowed your heavy heart some rest, your phone was out of reach and you were too lazy to retrieve it. You wanted to shoot him a text tho, telling him all the words he never got to hear.
Instead you lay there, images burning behind closed eyes. Images of his green forrest eyes that disappeared when his laughter erupted, how you would kill to hear that laugh again. The feeling of the vibration through his chest as he sung you a new tune. How he used to look at you, eyes searching for inspiration and the look in them the second he found it. Being his muse had been the greatest achievement of your life. Your favorite memory was from the frosty night in December only five moths prior, ditching a party the two of you had ventured off into the night. He had held you close when you arrived at your shared home, bodies moving in sync, the rhythm you fell into in the bed had been steady and slow. Intimate love making till dawn. Your bodies not craving sleep, instead you had moved to the patio. His large body had been pressed firmly against the lounge couch and he had pulled you against him. Limbs draped over each other's and low voices filling the air with words of adoration. The conversation following the flow of the wind, the chilly morning offering you an excuse to snuggle closer to your love. He had happily accepted the closeness, and soon series of laughter had erupted into the slow morning. Just the two of you, bodies pressed together and love flowing freely.
You mind had turned off to the memory of him, and next thing you knew you woke up in your lonely bed. It had never felt so big when Michael had been taking up half of it. The empty room taunting you and the long halls hunting the memories that was made here away. As days fell into night and night turned into days your speckle off hope had vanished. The hope of feeling his body once more, his lips on yours and his voice rumbling against your skins. Instead you tugged away your emotions everyday walking through life as someone else, and only allowing the emotions to take over at night. Most nights your mind raced to the loving memories, but some nights it was the burning memories of pain the pressed into your head.
Dating Michael had been fun and easy, when he asked you to build a home with him you had been ecstatic. Slowly reality dawned on you, the rockstar lifestyle being far away from the life you wished to led. His drinking turned into situations that was hurtful, a large number of girls pressing on. Wishing to enter your relationship, you begging him to change every night when he would stumble through the door.
The last time you saw him stung in the back of your mind. Just mere hours after you had told him that he had to stop with the excessive amount of alcohol and he has kissed you with a promise of doing better. You were fuming when you heard him fumbling with the front door, the creaking of the door setting you completely off. With steam clouding your mind you had entered the entrance and he had shot you a short smile. As he came close the words that left his mouth dragged your breath away, leaving your body defenseless "I though you were out with us? Who was the girl I kissed than?" He carelessly moved through your house towards the bedroom. Tears drawing pathways down your cheeks and hiccups threatening to spill passed your lips. You stayed up all night, waiting for him to sober up. Every minute of the night was spent considering the conversation of tomorrow. When he was clear in his head, he yelled out for you, his words bouncing of the walls. Your fragile body towering over him, and your voice anything but fragile. He was shunned from the house, leaving in a hurry as you yelled out your pain. Months passed where you awaited his next move, silently hoping that he would beg for you to forgive him. Instead you got nothing. His stuff was still where he left them except from his guitars. And you knew everything but his guitars was replaceable. When Calum had turned up at your door with a sorrowful painted across his face you knew he was there to pick them up. It hurt every time you glanced at the empty room having yet to entered it, dust was covering the corners and slowly tugging the room into a dull forgotten memory.
Your high ponytail was swinging from side to side as you strutted down the sidewalk. The pep in your steps were just a reminded to yourself that you had the power to move on. When you spotted him at your favorite coffee shop, your steps came to a halt. His eyes meet yours long before yours meet his. He saw you and froze. Your smile telling him that you were doing good but your eyes spilling your secret. Awkwardly you walked over to him "hi stranger" your voice was a pitch higher than usual and you mentally scolded yourself for the preppy outburst. His voice was darker than you remembered but the impact of his words stronger than you expected "Hi. How are you?" The concentration on your face told him that you were trying your best to stay cool "I'm good , yeah very good. What about you?" The forced smile made his heart ache and his guards grow weaker. "Im glad you are doing good y/n. Im getting through day by day. 4 months sober yesterday" His voice grew with pride as he told you about his sobriety, and his smile grew even larger as he saw the proud look on your face. Without thinking twice you leaped into his arms, hugging him tightly against yourself "Im so proud of you Micky." Your cheeks grew red as you realized that this wasn't what was normal for you to do anymore. The break up meant that you had to sacrifice being close to him and just watch his life from afar. You knew he was sober, his instagram had told you so. But to hear the words leave his mouth made you ache with pride. When he felt you draw back he pulled you into himself again, not ready to let you slide through his fingers once more. Your smell was filling his nostrils and he wanted to keep you wrapped in his arms forever. When he let go of your body, you stumbled back and took him in. He looked better than ever, more fit and more alive. The silence laid as a blanket making the air hot and thick and just as you were about to say your byes he spoke up "Do you wanna catch up some day? maybe drink a cup of coffee?" you smiled shyly at him, and the fact that he had cheated on you was forgotten, "Yeah I would like that." Just like that you had a date with him, your body felt like yours for the first time in months and the pep in your step were no longer forced.
The knock at your door alerted you that he had arrived. You opened the door and smiled at him a laugh followed shortly behind "Quite weird having you knocking on your own door" he smiled back at you before he spoke "Thats ok, you look absolutely beautiful love" he handed you the flowers in his hand and you felt oddly embarrassed, such gestures never fell naturally to Michael. More a man of words he would praise you, shower you in physical affection but stray away from gifts. The ride in his car was longer than you remembered it, the small drops of sweat that was collecting at Michaels hairline let you know that you weren't alone with the crippling feeling of anxiety that started to form the second you woke up. His hands were both clutched to the steering wheel and as he turned into the coffee shop your stomach turned with anticipation. "I was thinking we could do to go? And then go to our spot?" You smiled at his idea, that he remembered how much you enjoined your spot.
The car came to a halt at the empty parking spot. Michael was quick to climb out of the car and open your door for you. Slowly you made your way towards the spot. Surrounded by nature you felt your breath become easier. The large stones that leaned against each other offered a place to take a seat. He came prepared with a blanket and a packed picking. Like so many times before you took place next to each other, the still warm air clinging to both your bodies as the sun continued it's decent. The ocean reached the stones and splashes were sent into the sky. His legs rested and made contact with the firmness of your other thigh. Slow conversation filled the space between you and drew you closer. Coffee was sipped and sandwiches shared. The sun came into contact with the ocean and Michael dived into the cruel conversation that was awaiting you. His body turned to yours "I'm sorry" his words were low but you heard him, your eyes meet and you signaled for him to go on. He took deep breaths of fresh air, worried that his fragile words wouldn't be enough "I'm sorry for everything I put you through. I've realized that I was so far out of line. All my decisions fell back onto you. And I'm awfully sorry about kissing another woman. You are truly the only one for me. I understand if you aren't interested in being with me ever again, but I've changed y/n. I'm still working on myself, but you are my motivation every single day and I want to make it up to you." You mind was clouded by his words, the mentioning of his infidelity was like salt in wounds but you wanted to give him a chance. "Yeah you sucked" you tried to lighten the mood but you both knew that, that was a light way to put it. You continued while gripping his hand " I want to be with you Mickey. But it is definitely going to be difficult for me to trust you" you smiled a careful smile at him and he moved even closer, desperate to feel you. His hand moved to your face as he silently asked for your permission to press his lips against yours. You nodded your head, eager to feel the movement. The world stood still, birds chirping became louder and the intensity of the small gesture made you dizzy. Michael was right there with you, you soft lips sending him into a feeling of ecstasy.
Silent promise between lovers who had been torn apart filled the now colder air. Sun kissing the ocean and dancing in warm colors. Pulling one another closer, and thinking of each other highly.

The sound of the bus’ engine stops as the team members inside disperse from it.
“All Right! Get your things and head straight to the gym for a meeting!” Coach Ukai announces, waking the volleyball players up. “Right…” The team lets out a lazy reply.
As they begin to make their way to the gym, Kageyama gives Hinata a side glance. “You totally drooled, gross.” “My drool isn’t gross!” Hinata snaps immediately.
“Congrats!!!” You yell, causing the attention of the team to turn to you. You run making your way to the group, finding and tackling Tsukishima into a hug first. The blonde nearly loses his balance before you pull away. You turn to face the rest of the team, sharing high fives and hugs. “You guys were incredible!” You let out happily. You turn to look at Tsukishima before the sound of a voice yells from above.
“Hey! Boys’ Volleyball Team!” Those below look up to the other classmates.
“That was amazing!” “Good job!” “Congrats!” “Well done!” “We’re going to cheer you on tomorrow!” “You better win!” “Do your best!” The classmates above yell.
The team looks up in awe, and you turn to give Tsukishima a side glance. A small but visible smile is seen, and you can’t help but smile with him at this sweet and tender moment shared between the school and the team.
-
“Yachi!!!” You call to your friend as she gathers her belongings. “I can’t believe the team is heading to the final finals! I wonder how they’re feeling.”
As Yachi zips her backpack, she looks to you smiling. “Right? I’m sure they’re feeling just as nervous and excited!”
The two of you begin your stroll out of the clubroom, making the corner passing the gym. “Will you be coming to the match tomorrow?” She asks looking to the ground before turning her view to you. “I wouldn’t miss it for the world, I want to be there for your guys’ big game, I feel so bad for not being able to go to the one today” You give a soft sigh. “Awh don’t worry about it, we know you were with us in spirit!” She reassures you as you walk by the gym doors, the two of you notice the sounds of rustling, before looking to notice the lights on.
“Huh? They couldn’t be…” Yachi lets out before peeking her head in first. “I knew it.” She lets out a sigh as you peak your head in after.
“Ah! Yachi-san!” Hinata calls after turning to her. You peak your head in afterwards, watching as Kageyama rolls the cart of volleyballs to the middle blocker.
“Y/n, you’re here too.” Kageyama turns and watches as you lean against the entrance.
“Could you two throw us some balls?” Hinata asks enthusiastically. Yachi makes her way in, passing you. “What? You guys had two matches today, so you should just go home and rest up!” She scolds.
You give a soft laugh, walking in after her, standing by her side before joining. “She’s right, you guys are going to use up all your energy before the big game.”
Hinata pouts looking between you two. “But if I went home right now, I’d be too worked up to sleep! So, please!” “Please!” Kageyama joins in.
Yachi looks to you before letting out a sigh, shaking her head.
You both enter and set your backpacks down, grabbing the ball from the cart, then turning to face the two boys.
Hinata takes a deep breath, positioning himself before letting out “Throw it, please!”
You prepare to launch the ball “Okay!” you toss the ball just above Kageyama’s head, as he sets it to him. Hinata raises his right arm as he jumps, hitting it perfectly, the sound of the ball hitting the gym floor echoing throughout the gym.
“YEAH!” The two cheer in sync, you and Yachi watch in awe, clapping your hands together.
“Give me one more please!” Hinata asks as he gets back in position before Yachi throws another ball. Kageyama and Hinata continue to go at it, not missing a single one and getting every hit in.
For what felt like only a few minutes, turned to be half an hour. The two of you dip your hand into the cart, only to realize it’s now empty. The sound of someone stepping into the gym causes the four of you to turn your attention towards the entrance.
“What are you doing?” A soft voice asks.
“Ah- Sh-Shimizu-senpai!” Yachi lets out surprised.
You watch her as she looks to the opposite side of the net, noticing the volleyballs scattered across the floor before letting out a sigh, turning to face the two boys.
“Resting properly is another important part of preparing for matches, you know.”
“S-sorry!” The two boys apologise, hanging their heads in embarrassment as you turn to Yachi, the two of you exchanging an ‘I told you so’ look before giggling. “Come on. That’s enough. Let’s clean up!” Yachi speaks to the two.
Hinata lets out a whine. “What?” “Nope! Come on, hurry up!” She makes her way behind him before pushing him towards the other side of the volleyball net.
Kageyama looks at you before you give back a stare. “What? You want me to push you to the other side too?” You tease. Kageyama lets out a small blush before nodding his head relentlessly. You give a soft giggle before repeating the action to him as well.
Kiyoko watches the interaction from afar, as the two boys begin to bicker.
“We got in trouble because of you.” “You wanted to practice, too, didn’t you?”
You make your way with Yachi to your senior. “We’re sorry for helping them practice!” You both let out before bowing.
Kiyoko shakes her head before reassuring a “No, it’s fine.” She looks at you both. “Actually, thank you both for practicing with them. Y/n, Hitoka-chan, it’s already dark, so do you want me to go to the bus stop with you?” “S-sure-!”
Before you can reply, the presence of a tall silhouette lurks behind you before pulling you close. “I’ll drop her home.” You look up to notice Tsukishima looking to your senior before bowing. “Tsukki- You’re still here?”
Kageyama turns his attention to you two, before letting out a grumble.
Kiyoko lets out a confused nod, wondering where he had come from, before turning her attention back to the two boys. “When you both are done, you need to go straight home.” She states before turning her eyes back to Tsukishima “And make sure Y/n-chan gets home safely.”
“Yes!” The two let out as you watch Yachi and Kiyoko make their way out of the gym.
-
As you were about to make your way out with Tsukishima, you hear Kageyama call out to you.
“Y/n!” You turn and find him standing in front of you, Tsukishima giving a glare. “I’ll take you home too-” “Ah, don’t you have some cleaning up to do, king?” Tsukishima immediately retorts.
You look between the two before letting out. “It’s okay Tobio! Tsukki and I live right next to each other!” You smile and Tsukishima lets out an internal sigh of relief. “Although-” He sucks the internal sigh of relief back in.
You turn to face Tsukki, giving him a certain puppy eye look he knows all too well. “We could wait for you guys to finish up!”
Tsukishima rolls his eyes as you both wait for the two to finish.
-
You walk in besides Tsukishima, your two other friends in front of you, as you make your way off campus. Stopping right above the hill to take a look down at the small suburban view.
“I wonder how the Little Giant felt that day before the finals…” Hinata begins, you, Tsukishima and Kageyama turn your head to him. “I’m super nervous, but…” The boy takes a deep breath, you watch as his eyes sparkle underneath the lamp post before turning to look to you three. “Isn’t it even more exciting now?!”
Tsukishima rolls his eyes. And you smile at him before turning your head to Kageyama, he slowly raises his left arm, holding his fist out to the other boy. “We’re going to win tomorrow.” He states as the boy raises his fist, bumping it with his. “Yeah!”
The four of you part ways, now you and Tsukishima making your way home.
-
“Tsukki?” “Hmm” You stop in your tracks, looking up to the sky. Tsukishima looks to you.
“Are you excited for tomorrow?” He looks at you bewildered by your random question. “Or, are you nervous?” You look to him.
Tsukishima stares before looking to the sky. Letting out a sigh “Why would I be?” “Kei!” You whine and he turns his gaze to you, letting out an internal chuckle before continuing.
“Well, considering we’ll be up against the top powerhouse school in Miyagi, with a guy who’s in the youth’s national team, also being known for his merciless spikes“ he looks down to you. “Maybe” He brings his pointer finger up to flick your forehead, proceeding his pace as you run after him. You huff, flinching back a bit before running after him. “Tsukki!”
-
As you make your way to the front gate of your house, you turn to face your long-time best friend.
“Thank you again for making sure I got home safely!” You thank. “We literally live right next to each other.” He bluntly responds. “Still!” You huff, missing the low chuckle he lets out.
The two of you share a moment of silence as you gaze into each other’s eyes. Tsukishima can’t help but stare at your features under the lamp post, watching as your eyes glisten underneath the illuminating light. ‘Have your eyes always shined like that?’
You look back up to him in confusion, before noticing his hand rising up to your face. You still, a bit shocked and confused as he brings his left palm to your cheek before squeezing it.
“Night pipsqueak” He lets go as you whine, your grip tightening to the straps of your backpack.
You watch as he makes his way past his gate before running to him.
“Tsukki!” He stops and turns to you. “Make sure to get a lot of rest! I’ll be there to cheer you on tomorrow!” You give a soft smile. ‘“And… I believe in you.” You look up to him, your smile spreading wider before jumping into him, giving him a soft hug.
Tsukishima takes a step back, flustered by the sudden action before bringing an arm around, lightly holding you as he brings his face closer to your head, mumbling a “Thanks” into your hair before you let go.
“Night-Night Tsukki!” You wave to him as you make your way past your gates and inside.
Tsukishima stares at the front door you had entered before making his way into the comfort of his home. Settling his bag down and slipping into his house slippers, he makes his way upstairs to his room before shutting the door behind him, and leaning against it. He brings his palm up to his face, feeling how heated it was, before bringing the same palm to his chest, trying to catch the rapid beating of his heart. Oh fuck.
-
Greetings.
The sound of an alarm rings throughout the small room.
Tsukishima lets out a low groan, turning to his side to snooze the alarm, before sitting up and grabbing his glasses placed beside it, reading ‘08:00’ on his alarm.
Checking his phone, he immediately notices a notification, swiping his phone and he is taken back to the Karasuno Volleyball Club’s groupchat.

“Oh? Tsukki!” Yamaguchi calls, the heads of the Karasuno volleyball team members turning as Tsukishima makes his way past the school gates, exhausted.
“TSUKISHIMA!!!!” Calls, waving his arms to his fellow middle blocker. “SHUT UP HINATA” Kageyama yells. Daichi immediately breaks up the duo, giving a deathly glare as the second years chuckle. “Sorry…” The two mumble before Yamaguchi and Yachi approach the tall blonde.
“Please place your bags in the compartment below Tsukishima-kun.” Yachi instructs, receiving a tired nod from the boy.
“Good morning kids” The group turn their heads to see as their Coach and Advisor make their way out of the school building, with a folder of documents in hand, along with a first aid kit.
“Alright, I know we’re all tired, so rest up as much as you can on the drive.” He starts before looking at the captain. Daichi nods before giving Tanaka, Noya, Hinata and Kageyama a side glare. The four immediately gulp as the team begins to board the bus.
-
The bus makes a stop as the boys inside begin to dissemble. Kiyoko and Yachi help clear the bottom cart of the bus, unloading the baggage.
“The drive didn’t seem too bad” Asahi yawns before hopping off the bus. The sound of a crow crying waking him up.
“All right, let’s go everyone!” Sugawara pushes. “Yeah” The team lets out as they begin to walk towards the entrance of the building.
Daichi stays behind as he exchanges a conversation with three of his fellow female classmates from the girl’s volleyball team.
-
“Thanks again for giving me a ride to the game Aki-nii! I didn’t know you’d be back in town so soon, did you come just to watch Tsukki’s game?” You jump out of his car as you turn to meet him on the other side.
“Shhh Y/n-chan! He doesn’t know I’m here… Well, let alone he didn’t want me to come” He adjusts his hat and sunglasses. “And it’s no problem!” He gives a thumbs up before you let out a soft laugh. “You go ahead, I’m going to wait before going in, just in case he arrived the same time as we did” You nod before waving and running off.
-
“Wow” Tanaka lets out “So this is the finals… There’re so many people.” Nishinoya turns to his brethren before reassuring him. “Ryuu, this is no time to be scared!”
The man turns immediately to him “I’m not scared!”
Nishinoya closes his eyes before looking down, placing a firm hand on his friend’s shoulder. “Listen, Ryuu. Picture this.” His gaze rises “The finals… Our opponents are Shiratorizawa. What do you think is going to happen when we play to a crowd this big?
Tanaka eyes him, confused “What’s going to happen?” Just as he questions, the sounds of girls chattering passes the two, he immediately jumps up.
Nishinoya dives, chest facing down as he extends his arms to save the ball from dropping to the floor. HUP
Tanaka jumps, higher above the net before spiking, not giving the opposite team a chance to react. BAM
The crowd of Shiratorizawa girls go wild, “AH NISHINOYA-KUN! TANAKA-KUN! YOU’RE AMAZING” They cheer excitedly.
The two let out a sexy and husky chuckle.
”Nishinoya-kun, Tanaka-kun” An angelic voice calls out, making the two turn their heads to meet miss Kiyoko Shimizu.
”D-do your best out there…” She quietly wishes before covering her face with her hands.
The two boys join hands, giving each other a look of great determination.
“Noya-san, I’m gonna do this! I’m gonna become a hero after this match!” Tanaka promises his friend, giving a snarky smile. “I’m not gonna lose, Ryuu!” Nishinoya replies, reciprocating the same snarky smile. “RWWWAAAAAAAAUURRRGHHHHH” The two growl, causing the attention of people around to judge.
Ennoshita watches besides Narita and Kinoshita unamused before his friend speaks “They seem more hyped up than usual…”
“Guts! Guts! Guts! Guts!” They scream before Ennoshita cuts them off. “Hey, you’re embarrassing us, stop screaming!” He scolds.
“I’m glad those guys never change…” Narita lets out a small laugh as the two continue their screaming.
“Guts! Guts! Guts! Guts!” The team turns their head to watch as their mates continue to scream before Daichi comes back, obviously unamused. Just before Hinata was going to join in, “SHUT UP, YOU TWO!” The captain yells. Yamaguchi lets out a chuckle as Tsukishima lets out a sigh. “As expected…”
“Come on, let’s go!” “YEAH!”
As the team makes their way into the gym, Hinata is stopped by his two old middle school friend’s, exchanging a quick conversation before splitting and catching up to his team, before getting into yet another quarrel with Kageyama.
“Why, you!” The sound of Kageyama growling causes Tsukishima to turn and give a look of annoyance between the two.
“Hey! Stop it, you two!” Daichi scolds. “You’re wasting energy before the finals? Are you guys completely stupid?” Tsukishima butts in bluntly, watching as Kageyama continually tries to strangle Hinata.
Yamaguchi lets out a look of embarrassment as he turns to notice the gaze from others in the hallway. “Well, we might immediately lose anyways…” Tsukishima scoffs before reaching into his bag.
“Yams!!” Yamaguchi turns to notice you running your way up to him, noticing him immediately. “Y/n!” Yamaguchi greets happily. Tsukishima looks up to see your running figure as he zips his bag shut.
Yachi’s attention turns to you before greeting you, along with the rest of the team. “Y/n! You made it!” “Yachi I told you I’d come!” You whine before taking her hands. The sound of a strap snapping causes your gaze to turn to Tsukishima, who is adjusting his sport’s glasses.
“Good grief. Come on, let’s go” The captain lets out, finally stopping the two from their escapades.
You walk in between Kiyoko and Yachi along with the team.
“All right. As soon as we put our stuff away, we’re going to warm up!” Daichi states as his team lets out a “YEP!” in sync.
“Y/n, this is where we’re going to split up for a little bit, I’ll join you up by the bleachers once official starts!” Yachi informs you and you give a small smile. “It’s no worries!” You turn to notice Tsukishima’s eyes on you, immediately looking away before making eye contact.
You turn to face the team, wishing them a good luck before making your way to Tsukishima.
“Tsukki! Remember, I’ll be cheering for you!” You give a bright smile before heading off.
The boy stands there flustered, obviously trying so hard to hide his reaction before his senior calls. “Tsukki~” Sugawara teases, ruffling the top of his head. Nishinoya and Tanaka join in on the teasing as Yamaguchi lets out a snicker.
“Alright let's go!” Daichi orders. “Let’s go!”
-
You make your way up the bleachers, finding a seat as you watch the boys practice. Getting up to watch, you rest on the railing before Kageyama looks to find you, giving you a wave. You smile giving him a wave back before finding Tsukishima in the audience.
Just as you were to call out to him, you feel a heavy weight shove you. You let out a yelp as you shut your eyes from the impact. The feeling of liquid trickling down your clothes before squeaking out an apology.
-
Kageyama watches the spilled “accident” before immediately making his way off court.
“Oi! Kageyama where are you going?!” Daichi calls, Kageyama ignoring him as he leaves through the doors.
Tsukishima turns his head to watch as the setter runs out, then looking up to find you and Manami in the audience, this doesn’t look good. His eyes widened slightly in shock, as he was about to run out to assist you- his senior calls for him. He looks between you and his senior before assisting his senior instead.
-
“I-I’m so sorry!” You yelp, feeling liquid triple down your now wet attire. You open your eyes to meet the harsh glare of Manami. “Oops, my bad.” She replies antagonistically before walking off with Watabe.
You stand there bewildered, looking down and letting out a sigh. You make your way from the bleachers to the bathroom, hoping you can dry and spare this day from being completely ruined with your soaked blouse.
-
Standing in front of the mirror, you let out a sigh of frustration and you aggressively press the layer of napkins to your blouse, trying to dry it, but it doesn’t seem to be working as much as you hoped it would.
Not wanting to waste anymore time, you toss the napkin away before making your way out, only to bump into Kageyama.
Kageyama stands in front of you, “Are you okay?” He asks quietly before you let out a small “yeah”. He takes his hand, bringing it closer to you. Looking, you watch as he is offering you his spare jersey to wear. “Oh! Kageyama it’s okay, really I-” “Please take it, you could get sick.” He states before you nod, taking it from his hands and thanking him.
Realization hits before you run behind him, beginning to push him. “Go back! You’re missing valuable time to practice, don’t worry about me!” He turns to face you, giving your head a pat before smiling slyly. He waves to you before running off, leaving you.
You quickly change from your blouse, tucking the useless piece of clothing into your little bag. You look up into the mirror and realize just how big it looks on you, draping nearly past your thighs. Zipping your bag up, you immediately make your way out of the bathroom to the bleachers.
-
“KAGEYAMA!” Hinata yells as the setter makes his way back into the court. “Kageyama-kun, are you alright?” Kiyoko asks before he nods. Explaining to her how he had watched as someone spilled their drink on you, only leaving to help you briefly. From this Yamaguchi and Tsukishima hear, they look back up to the bleachers to still find you gone.
The two share a brief moment of silence looking at each other. Tsukishima is about to run out, before the coach calls for him.
“Tsukishima-kun! Don’t think about leaving. Everyone get ready to line-up” He calls before Tsukishima nods, following his orders.
He looks back up to the bleachers, worried and wanting to give you his spare jersey to change into, thinking of how sitting through an entire game in wet clothes is bound to get you sick.
Yachi bids her team a ‘good luck’ before making her way off court.
-
You make your way back to the railing, just in time to meet the booming voice of your school’s Vice Principal.
“Listen up, everyone!” He yells, you stop and turn your attention to him. “We need to cheer as loud as we can so our cheers’ becomes the players’ strength!” You let out a “right!” along with the other students, surprised by his behavior. “The vice-principal sure seems worked up about this.” You hear your classmate say to his friend besides you. “Was he always like that?” His friend replies as you let out a low chuckle.
“Go, go, Karasuno! Push it, push it, Karasuno!” The Vice Principal cheers, clapping the two cones in his hands together. The school repeats the cheer, but incredibly off sync. Causing the Vice Principal to let out another scold. “We just practiced this yesterday!” You watch as you homeroom teacher makes her way to calm him down.
“A-are they gonna be okay?” You hear the voice of another man besides you, turning to find a tall man besides another who you deemed familiar. ‘Yamaguchi’s mentor!’ You remember before turning your attention to hear a familiar voice whispering.
“I’m not anyone suspicious!” You watch as Akiteru is being pulled by gorgeous blonde baddie, making her way to the three of you by the railing. “I saw this suspicious guy wandering around!” You turn to look at the ‘suspicious man’, remembering the hat, sunglasses and face mask he was preparing when you two hopped out of his car. “He ran when he saw me, so I caught him!” ‘That is very suspicious’ you admit to yourself as she meets up to the three of you. “He could be a Shiratorizawa spy!”
And at that, you can’t help but laugh. “What?!” Shimada questions and you watch Akiteru trying to explain himself. “W-wait! I’m a relative!” He removes his sunglasses and mask, continuing his alibi. “I’m Tsukishima Kei’s older brother!” He proudly says.
“Tsukishima-kun’s older brother?!” The two men reply in shock.
“SHHHH! SHHHH! He told me not to come to the match.” You look down and notice Tsukishima glaring up to the stands, obviously aware of his older brother’s presence. You watch as Akiteru ducks under the railing, before looking down and giving him a wave. He waves back slowly before turning his focus back on his coach.
“Those two are nothing alike, especially their personalities.” The tall blonde man says to the shorter blonde woman.
Your snickering causes the attention of the four adults to turn to you. “Huh?” You watch as the woman approaches you. “You’re so cute!” She lets out before looking down to notice your jersey. The other three adults following her gaze.
Their eyes widen in shock, especially Akiteru’s. “Are you here for Tobio-kun?!” She asks, obviously loving the cute idea of wearing your significant other’s jersey to his game.
Akiteru watches you, awaiting your answer. Wondering if it’s true, confused on how the last time he had visited it felt so obvious you felt something for his younger brother.
“N-no that’s not it! He’s one of my friends, he offered me his spare jersey not too long ago because of an accident.” You reply, not noticing the sigh of relief Akiteru lets out.
“Awh, that would have been so cute” She replies disappointedly, resting her arm on the railing.
“I’m Saeko, Tanaka’s older sister, you can call me Saeko-nee” She winks and you are left flustered, exchanging a greeting back. “These two over there are Shimada and Takinoue” She points to the other two men, you share a greeting with them as well.
“And this one over here” She points to Akiteru. “Suspicious man” She laughs and you notice Akiteru fume again. “I told you I’m not suspicious, tell her Y/n-chan!” “Y/n-chan?” The women turns back to you. “Oh? Do you know him? Blink twice if you don’t” She jokes.
“Y-yes I do, don't worry! We actually came together. We’re neighbors!” You assure her and she lets out an ‘ah’ before you hear the familiar sound of your friend.
“Y/n-chan!” “Yachi!” She meets beside you, greeting the other four adults before her gaze falls onto your clothing.
“I-is that Kageyama’s?!” She asks flustered and you nod, explaining the same thing you have told the other four adults, not wanting her to think you had anything romantic going on with one of your friends.
The sound of a whistle blown causes everyone’s attention to turn to the court, you watch as the game begins, the team’s lining up on both ends as the reporter announces the teams. “We will now begin the Japanese National High School Volleyball Tournament, Miyagi’s Prefecture Qualifiers, Boy’s Finals.”
You watch in anticipation, feeling your heart race with excitement.
“Miyagi’s Karasuno High School. Miyagi’s Shiratorizawa Academy.”
You yell out a cheer with the crowd, watching both captains exchange a hand shake.
“Wow there's a bunch of TV crews” Saeko lets out.
“We will now introduce Karasuno High School’s starting line-up.” The speakers announce, turning everyone’s attention back to Karasuno’s side of the court. “Number 1, Sawamura Daichi. Number 3, Azumane Asahi. Number 5, Tanaka Ryuunosuke.” “RYUU!!!” Saeko cheers besides you. “Number 9, Kageyama Tobio. Number 10, Hinata Shoyo.” You let out a cheer for your two friends, before the last player is announced. “Number 11, Tsukishima Kei” With his name said, you let out an even louder cheer, with Akiteru, watching as he jogs across the court to meet his team.
Afterwards, the reporter announces Shiratorizawa’s line-up. You shake with Yachi in intimidation, watching the very tall boys jog across the court one by one.
“Ladies and gentlemen, please cheer on both teams and wish them the best.”
You let out a sigh before turning to the five people besides you. “Oh geez, I’m starting to feel nervous.”
Let the games begin.
-
The crowd goes wild as Shiratorizawa takes the lead, you stand restless besides Akiteru and Yachi, watching as Tsukishima stands by the net.
“At the very least” Akiteru starts, you turn your attention to him first. “Kei is the exact opposite from the kind of player that moves based on sensations.” The other two blonde girls turn to him, in question. “He doesn’t believe in his own strength. And he doesn’t trust the senses he’s built up.” He says bluntly, Saeko seeing the resemblance now of the two brothers. “How could you say that? You’re his older brother!” She scolds lightly. “I’m complimenting him!” He responds back.
You turn your attention back to Tsukishima on the court. “He’s right.” The three now turning their attention to you. “You see, the more Tsukki feels let down, the calmer he gets.” Their gaze turns back to Tsukishima on court. “He only believes the information that his eyes can see.”
You watch as Ushijima prepares for his spike, Tsukishima jumping right on time, only to be sent back down due to the harsh force coming from the opposite hitter.
The buzzer goes off and the teams take their time. You watch as Ennoshita wraps Tsukishima’s fingers, feeling a bit worried for the pain but believing in him.
-
The first set is completed by Shiratorizawa, you continue to watch restlessly as the second begins.
You notice half way through that a very tall red-haired man seems to be razzing Tsukishima, watching the glare he gives him from the other side of the court.
Just then, as the red-haired man was about to hit a time-lag attack, Tsukishima blocks the ball immediately, sending it flying on their side of the court.
You cheer alongside with the gym. “TSUKKI!!!!!”
Tsukishima had left the other boy agitated, bowing and giving him a passive aggressive smile. “You piss me off!” You hear the red-haired boy yell.
You watch as Ushijima continues to spike, Tsukishima and Hinata’s attempts to block not working, for the ball keeps making contact with their hands, but only to pass and fall on their end.
-
“They got the point again!” You hear Takinoeu cry before turning your head to Yachi’s voice.
“Is there something wrong?” You watch her ask Akiteru, his hand to his chin. “I was just thinking Kei was acting a bit strange… I might just be imagining it.”
Yachi turns her head back to the court. “His eyes seem much more lively than usual!” She cheers as you smile at her reply, before looking back down. You feel Akiteru lean closer to your ear. “Does Kei actually have friends at school besides you and Tadashi?” You give a soft laugh before giving him a look of amusement.
-
You turn your focus back on the court, watching as a weirdly cut-banged kid sets to Ushijima once again.
Kneeling a little too off the railing, you watch in anticipation, noticing Tsukishima’s focus on him.
Tsukishima’s eyes are focused solely on the ball, jumping in sync with Asahi just as Ushijima’s about to hit, you notice his arms turn at an acute angle.
Your eyes widen at the sight of the contact, his palms holding against the ball perfectly. The sound of the ball hitting the floor echoes throughout the court, and you are left there in shock. It had landed on Shiratorizawa’s side.
You feel yourself tear up as the whole venue goes quiet. Being the first to yell in excitement. “KEI!” You cry, watching as he glances towards his palms, before facing you. You both share a brief moment looking at each other, the sound of the quiet venue making it feel as you two were the only ones there, like time has stopped. His widened eyes look up to you, giving a small smile before clenching his palm. “He stopped Ushiwaka?!” The sound of everyone's cheers comes back, and you watch Tsukishima.
‘It was only one block. It was only a point out of 25. It’s just a club.’ The memories in his mind take him back to three visions.
-
The first vision; of his older brother, who he had looked up too, curled into a ball as he sobs into his bedroom floor.
“Kei, I’m so sorry!” He cries, not noticing his little brother watching him from the cracked door leading to his room. Missing the single tear dripping past his cheek. “Pathetic.” He whispers to himself before walking away to his room.
The second vision; of his conversation with Bokuto, Kuroo and Akaashi back during training camp.
“But once that moment arrives for you. That’s the moment you’ll be hooked on volleyball!” Bokuto explains to him, Kuroo beside with a smirk. “Now come help us practice!”
The final vision; is of you.
Tsukishima looks down at you, watching as you give him multiple reassurances before bidding a goodnight. He watches as you excitedly ramble, giving a soft smile before looking up at him.
“And… I believe in you!” He remembers the smile on your face spreading, before tackling him into the warmest hug he has ever felt.
-
Bringing his palm up, clenching it before bringing it back down once again. “YEEAAAH!!!” He cheers.
You bring your palms up, covering half of your face as you let tears flow down.
The members on his team cheer for him, proud and happy for their teammate stopping one of the most brutal spikers in the entire Miyagi Prefecture.
“Tsukishima!” Tanaka and Nishinoya yell before jumping onto him from behind.
You laugh, watching the two aggressively congratulate him. ‘Did Nishinoya just bite him?’
“I think Kei might have been waiting this whole time for the timing for Shiratorizawa’s tosses to skew.” Akiteru says.
You, Yachi and Saeko turn to him, before Saeko lets out a chilled sigh. “Eh? I can’t believe he thought that far ahead.” She lets out as she as the four of you focus your attention back onto the court.
“Tsukki is very smart” You begin. “I believe he is always thinking about volleyball, as well as other things.” “As obstinate as always” Akiteru jokes. You giggle before adding, “it’s just at that moment, I feel as if the only thing on his mind was stopping that block.” Resting against the cold railing. “Purely just… like he was solving a difficult question on a test.” You bring a palm to place under your chin before smiling softly. “I believe in him.”
Akiteru watches your gaze on his younger brother, letting a small smile make his way to his face. “Yeah.”
Karasuno takes the set, Hinata making his way to his fellow middle blocker.
“Tsukishima! That point was worth 100 points!” He gives a bright smile, before the blonde replies giving a sadistic smirk. “Thanks” Hinata is taken back, about to jump the man before Tanaka holds him back. “Calm down, Hinata! I’m sure he meant it as, ‘If you’re a middle blocker, you try it too.’”
-
The score between both teams continues to rise, one after the other. The sets evening out between the two, but Karasuno was able to take the last set.
The crowd cheers as the final set begins, if Karasuno is able to get this set, they’re to win.
You watch, your attention dedicated fully to Tsukishima as he prepares to launch himself up again, to block another spike.
You were fooled, you had followed the red-haired boy, Tendo, thinking he was going to hit the ball, until Ushijima rounds the corner, Tsukishima catching on immediately.
Just then, Tsukishima jumps, stopping the ball, only for it to hit the line on Shiratorizawa’s side by just a little bit, having it overruled.
You listen to Saeko sigh in frustration at Shimada, but bringing your focus towards the court, noticing something off about Tsukishima, but not noticing the other Tsukishima had left your side.
-
Coach Ukai has his head down in frustration, as Kageyama stares at Tsukishima on the court.
“Um…” The coach immediately looks to Kageyama. “There’s something wrong with his hand.”
Coach Ukai and Takeda-Sensei, along with Kiyoko immediately make their way to the court.
Tsukishima holds his palm, watching blood drip from the cut between his fingers. “Fuck.” He let’s out a pained grunt.
The opposite team hurdles on the other side of the net, watching the commotion as Tsukishima gets swarmed by his team.
“It must have been Ushiwaka’s spike.” Coach Ukai. “Narita!” He calls to sub, as he instructs Kiyoko to retrieve the first aid kit.
‘God damn it, at a time like this...’ Tsukishima stares at the injury before looking to the scoreboard. ‘Thankfully it was just my pinky, if I can just endure the pain- How long does it take for the bleeding to stop?’ He looks back down to a sudden sting, Kiyoko wraps the towel around his hand, applying pressure. ‘If we just tape it up so it’ll be stiff…’ His brain thinks in complete frustration. ‘The next rotation will have Hinata on the front line…’
“Kiyoko, get him to the infirmary” Coach Ukai instructs. ‘I need to figure out something by then…’ Tsukishima begins walking off court with Kiyoko, before looking to Hinata.
“You’d better buy me some time!” Hinata bites back. “By the time you get back, we’ll already be bound for nationals!” Tsukishima walks off as Hinata finishes, the feeling of his sensory receptors making him finally feel the absolute pain in his palm. He grips his hand tightly, bringing his head down.
-
Watching as Tsukishima and Kiyoko walk out, you hand your bag to Yachi before leaving to go to him.
-
Tsukishima sits in the infirmary, Kiyoko waiting as the nurse tends to aid.
“Kei!” Akiteru walks in, immediately heading towards his brother.
“Nii-chan? Why are you here? Though I’ve already knew.” “I came here to see my little brother fight bravely of course!” He looks down to the wrapped injury. “It doesn’t look like you’re going to die from that, that’s a relief” He sighs. “What do you mean die?” Tsukishima looks away from his older brother. “Even if I’m alive, I’m being pretty useless when it matters the most” He scoffs.
His brother gives him a scowl as he stands up straight. “My teammates will win, even if I leave them alone!” Tsukishima looks up in shock at his brother. “You have to believe in that.” He crosses his arms as his gaze softens. “And, you have to believe in yourself.”
He looks down, thinking of someone who had said something similar, something about believing in him. His mind goes to you.
The nurse walks in, Kiyoko leaving to give an update to the team on his injury and Akiteru aiding to go fetch a water bottle for his brother from the vending machine.
Just as the nurse finishes cleaning, and wrapping the injury, you run in through the door, exhausted, this entire building was a complete maze, getting lost is as simple as that. “Tsukki!” Your voice calling to him immediately lifts his head, turning his attention to you, feeling glad you came to check on him-
He notices the number on the jersey you’re wearing.
“Kei! Oh my god, are you okay?” You run to him, immediately kneeling and eyeing his injury. Reaching out carefully as you hold his arm. “It must be so painful, I’m so sorry. I anything I wish I could take and endure your pain for you.” He can’t help but stare at the jersey on you. You sigh, worried before looking up, meeting eyes with him. He immediately looks away, scoffing.
You sit beside him on the examination bed.
The silence feels a bit more tense than the usual comfortable silence you’re used to with him, you look down fiddling with your fingers, understanding the frustration he must be feeling, getting an injury so late into the game, just as they were about to win too.
“You were pretty incredible out there.” You begin, your gaze stuck to the floor, “That was so cool, when you jumped super high and your hands went WOOSH! And then you angled yourself so fast, I didn’t even think he was going to hit the ball, I thought that other guy was going to-” Tsukishima stays silent, cancelling out your rambling in his mind.
Countless thoughts racing through his head, why are you wearing Kageyama’s jersey? Did he really think he was finally going to have a chance with you? Even after all these years? Why Kageyama and not him? He’s known you longer, he’s been with you longer. Did he make a mistake? Did he really allow himself, even after all these years, to open up to someone? Why did it have to be you? Why is he feeling this way? Could it be just the adrenaline rushing through him, the stress from what would happen to his team? But his older brother told him to believe in them, to believe in himself. You told him you believed in him. You told him you liked him. But why is Kageyama in the picture?
Tsukishima stiffens up, completely frustrated and pissed. He feels he can explode any second, and he doesn’t know why. What is this feeling?
“You know” Tsukishima’s mind finally stops, the sound of your voice catching his attention. He knows he’s about to explode. “I always believed in you.” His gaze immediately turns to you. You turn to look at him, your eyes widening from the unfamiliar look Tsukishima is giving you. His gaze, filled with something so malice, so frightening, you have never seen Tsukishima give this look to anyone, not in your 11 years of knowing the boy.
“You know” He repeats your phrase. “You’re pretty fucking annoying.”
You sit there, absolutely flabbergasted by his demeanor.
“Tsukki-”
“Even after all these years, you think I’d be used to you by now.” You continue to stare at him in disbelief. This isn’t real, right? “All you do is whine and yap, especially about ‘Oh Tsukki, I like you so much!’.” He mocks as you shut your gaping mouth. “It gets pretty infuriating.” You look back down, staring at your shoes, clenching Kageyama’s jersey as your eyes begin to water. “You were embarrassing” You look back up to him, your eyes soaking. He wasn’t even looking at you. “I can’t believe you cheered when no one else was. How humiliating.” ‘For you? Or for me?’ He refers to earlier, when he blocked Ushijima’s spike, causing the entire venue to go silent, as you were the first to cheer for his accomplishment. “Pathetic.” He finishes with a scoff.
You immediately stand as Tsukishima’s realization hits him, he turns to you in shock, watching as your lip quivers as tears stain the eyes he had deemed stunning just the other night.
You try to reply, but can’t, instead letting our quiet sobs.
“Tsu- Tsukk… Kei…” You begin. He listens, waiting for whatever you want to say.
Yell at him, hit him, go off on him. He hopes you do to himself, feeling guilt in the pit of his stomach. He didn’t mean what he said, he really didn’t. You didn’t deserve such degradation, especially when you made time for him, just to watch him play. Just to cheer him on, to be there for him.
‘Pathetic.’ Echoes through your mind. You shut your mouth once again, not wanting to annoy him with your ‘whining’ or ‘yapping’ or anything. You turn to look up at him once more, tears spilling from your eyes rapidly, like a never ending flowing river.
He looks into your eyes, the pain from seeing you cry stinging much, much more than the cut between his fingers, or anything he has ever felt.
You bring your arm up to wipe the tears from your face, though, it was pretty useless since your tears wouldn’t stop. You hear the sound of chattering coming down the hall, you look to him once more before giving him a look he has never seen you give anyone. The look of heartbreak.
You run out of the room, unfortunately bumping right into one of the people you had heard talking, Akiteru.
You notice Yamaguchi, Yachi and Kiyoko by his side, their chattering completely stopping, before looking at you in absolute worry.
You use Kageyama’s jersey to wipe your eyes before thanking Yachi and taking the bag you had asked her to watch, wrapping it around you.
You look to Akiteru. “A-Aki-nii, I’m going to g-go home now.” You look back to the floor, avoiding any eye contact with the four in front of you, trying to make your way past them, Yamaguchi uses himself to block you from leaving.
“Y/n, what’s wrong?” Yamaguchi asks in deep worry, bringing his hand up to lightly touch your shoulder, before you shrug him off. Yachi and Kiyoko share a look before Yachi calls to you. “Y/n?” You continue to look down, feeling tears stain your vision once again. “N-nothing.” You try to make you way past Yamaguchi but this time Akiteru blocks you.
“I’ll take you home Y/n-chan.” You look up to him, seeing the resemblance between the two, only reminding you of the harsh words the younger Tsukishima had said to you.
“N-no, it’s okay” “How will you get home?” He questions, regardless he is not letting you go home, not in your current state.
“I’ll take the bus.” “Okay, I’ll take the bus with you” He retorts. You give a fake laugh, before seeing an opening, you book it.
“H-Hey!” “Y/N!” The four call out to you, but you were quick to make it out of the venue.
Running by a bench, you sit, taking a breather. The mean words Tsukishima had told you, the horrifying look he gave you. You begin to sob, pulling your legs closer to you on the bench.
-
Just as the four were going to chase after you, the nurse had come back out with Tsukishima, confused with the worried expression on their faces. The nurse lets out a smile thinking of how wonderful it must be to have friends who care about you so much. But what they didn’t know, it wasn’t Tsukishima’s injury they were worried about.
Kiyoko, Akiteru, Yachi and Yamaguchi thank the nurse, before the five make their way back to the venue. There's an awkward and tense silence, Tsukishima can feel the glare his older brother is giving him from his back. Yamaguchi itched to know what happened, wanting to ask his friend, but choosing not to. Not now at least.
They make it back to the game, and it continues.
-
You pull your phone out, hoping you could ask for your parents to pick you up. As you were about to press ‘call’, you look up and notice a bakery right across the street.
Dropping your phone back into your bag, you make your way across the street and into the bakery.
The little ring of the doorbell somehow brings you back to a calming state, the air in the bakery smelling sweet and calming. You make your way to eye the beautifully displayed deserts in the glass cases, pulling your wallet out, you notice one of the cakes. A perfectly cut slice of strawberry shortcake, the frosting covering the top, the layers visible with vanilla filling inside, and a cute strawberry placed just at the top, finishing the look of the iconic desert, the desert Tsukishima loves so much.
You are taken out of your trance by an older lady greeting you from across the counter. You greet her and ask for a slice of the strawberry shortcake, her heart of gold noticing your state, she offers it to you for free with a drink. You decline, offering to pay but she doesn’t allow.
You thank her dearly, before making your way back to the bench you had just sat at.
Placing your bag down, you begin to dig into the cake, remembering the time you got Tsukishima upset. The memory of you buying him his favorite food as a peace offering before planning to apologize, only to find him on his couch with a heavy fever.
‘He didn’t deserve the cake.’ You think to yourself. You didn’t upset him as much as he upsetted you now, where’s your apology cake? You stab the spoon into the desert, ravaging it in one go before his harsh words hit you once again.
‘Oh Tsukki, I like you so much’ His mocking voice repeats throughout your head. Feeling your tears swell up again. “If you don’t want me to like you anymore, then fine!” You huff, taking the carton of milk and drinking it in one swig.
Pulling out your phone, you notice the amount of missed calls and text messages coming from Akiteru and Yachi.
5 MISSED CALLS FROM “College Nerd🤓” and 7 MISSED CALLS FROM “Yachi-bear🐻”
3 NEW MESSAGES
Today
14:03 p.m
College Nerd🤓: “Hey, I know you might still be around somewhere, please come back to the venue.”
14:05 p.m
College Nerd🤓: “Let me drive you home, your parents would kill me”
14:06 p.m
College Nerd🤓: “I won’t leave the venue until you come back >:(( “
You sigh, taking the time to think. The rationalized idea of you running off and just going home after Tsukishima’s words was silly. It’d be a hassle to call your parents to pick you up, and either way you had gone with Akiteru, and he lives next door. You should wait until the game finishes, at least cheer and watch your friends, it’s their big game too.
You reply back with an “Okay” before tossing out the package that the cake was once in.
You scroll, checking the other messages from Yachi.
3 NEW MESSAGES
Today
14:01 p.m
Yachi-bear🐻: “Y/n, where are you?”
14:02 p.m
Yachi-bear🐻: “Please don’t go home alone!”
14:05 p.m
Yachi-bear🐻: “Y/n? Just know I’m here for you, please call me when you can. Love you!”
You feel guilty for worrying your friends. Standing from your seat, you wrap the bag around you before heading back to the venue.
-
You make your way through the crowd of people in the bleachers, deciding to watch just from afar, but your presence doesn’t go unnoticed by Yachi. Yachi beams running to you, she was about to ask if you were okay but decides not to. Grabbing your wrist, she pulls you towards the railing, as you guys had been watching from before.
“Y/n- look at the scoreboard!” You turn your head, seeing as Karasuno was in the lead. ‘One more point…’ Your eyes widen, turning to Yachi in excitement.
Looking back to the court, you notice Tsukishima is back in-game. You shrug, Yachi noticing your change of mood, calling to you.
“Y/n! Look! Hinata and Kageyama are going to do their quick!” You find the two boys, watching as Kageyama tosses a perfect set, Hinata jumping high in the air, his arm extended, looking very focused.
The two of you hold your breaths, before Hinata attacks. The ball spirals down from his spike, as Shiratorizawa’s libero tries to prevent it from touching the floor. He doesn’t miss it, but the ball goes flying off court, landing. Karasuno had defeated Shiratorizawa.
You take a step back before cheering, clasping your hands with Yachi before turning your attention back to the court. The screams from your side of the bleachers, intensifies more than Shiratorizawa’s. You watch as Shiratorizawa fall in defeat, while Karasuno huddles, jumping in glee.
You look to Yachi, hugging her before turning your attention back down, watching as Kageyama and Nishinoya drag Hinata to line up, you giggle at the funny interaction.
The line up begins, and the teams share their thanks before leaving.
-
Tsukishima stands above the sink in the boys’ restroom. The water running as his glasses are to the side.
“Tsukki the awards ceremony is about to start!” Yamaguchi’s excitement booms as he opens the restroom door calling to his friend. He watches as Tsukishima aggressively splashes his face. “What’s wrong?” He asks in concern by the doorway. He gets no response, he’s had enough, especially from seeing the tears that had fell from your face earlier.
“It’s Y/n isn’t it?” Tsukishima tenses, letting out a sigh of frustration and guilt. “Talk about annoying-” “NO!” Tsukishima looks back to his friend in shock, as Yamaguchi takes a big breath.
“You have no right at all to be the one upset here!” He enters the bathroom, shutting the entrance. “Look, I don’t know exactly what the hell happened, but I know it has to be you that’s at fault. Y/n came all this way to cheer you on, to support you, and yet, something just had to happen.”
He sends a glare to his friend. “She was fine earlier, she was up in the stands cheering her heart out, but after leaving the infirmary, which you were in, it’s like her mood had gone from 100 to 0!” He looks down. “I have never seen her that hurt before” He admits before looking up. “What’s wrong with you?” He asks, irritated.
“Are you stupid?!” He yells tot he blonde. “Stupid-” “Whatever!” Yamaguchi turns his back to his friend, proceeding to walk out. “This isn’t the time to be down, we’re going to nationals.” He says, letting the door shut behind him, leaving his friend to dry up.
-
The ceremony begins, Karasuno lined-up as medals are given to them. You watch in awe, the expression on Hinata and Kageyama’s face absolutely adorable. You look at Yamaguchi, feeling very proud for them. You want to feel happy for them, all of them, but you can’t find yourself to look at Tsukishima.
-
Just as the event ends, you run down the bleachers with Yachi, congratulating the team. Throwing yourself to each member, you share a tear and heartful ‘great job’ to each individual, while completely ignoring Tsukishima.
“Y/n!” Nishinoya screams, running over to you with Tanaka, before jumping on you. “Noya-senpai!” You cry as you fall, letting out a giggle as he helps you up. You don’t notice the stares until Sugawara makes his way over.
“Oh-hoho? Y/n-chan~” “Sugawara-senpai!” You greet. “Nice jersey, where’d you get that from?” You look down and notice the jersey adorned with Kageyama’s number. Turning your head to find an excuse, you look to Kageyama, who looks away, completely flustered.
“Y’ALL FU-” “NISHINOYA” Daichi immediately slaps Nishinoya, stopping him from making such an inappropriate joke. You can’t help but let out an uncontrollable snort, causing Tsukishima’s attention to turn to you from afar.
Seeing his team huddle around you, Kageyama to your side as he watches the light in your eyes beam again, listening to the happiness coming from your laugh.
He looks away, letting out a depressing sigh before walking off.
-
“Aki-nii?!” You call out, noticing the man standing right outside the entrance of the venue.
He sees you, immediately engulfing you in a hug. “Oh thank god you’re okay!” You laugh as he pats your head in relief.
“Ah, Tsukishima-kun, that’s your brother?” Asahi asks as he loads his luggage back onto the bus.
Tsukishima turns, feeling jealousy burn in him again, seeing his brother so close to you.
“Aki-nii stop!” You whine. “This is so embarrassing I’m not 5 anymore.” He stops before pulling away, giving you a warm, caring and brotherly smile. “Let’s go home, yeah?” You nod.
-
“You wanna get Mcdonald’s with me?” He asks as he’s already pulling into the Mcdonald’s drive thru. Laughing, you ask him why he’s asking, he’s literally the one driving.
“You know when I came back home around spring, I remember asking Kei if he wanted to get Mcdonald's with me, only for him to yell at me-” He notices as you stiffen up in your seat to the sound of Kei’s name.
Akiteru feeling guilty, hands you a pikachu shaped happy meal box. “That’s yours” You eye the box, thinking of just how adorable it is. “Kei would think this looks stupid.” You let out a low laugh before thanking him. The two of you are finally heading home.
-
Tsukishima finally arrives home. Slipping into his house slippers, he immediately heads to his room. Shutting the door behind him, he drops his bag before slipping down to his knees. Shutting his eyes for a second, trying to ground himself before he opens his eyes again to get up.
He immediately notices a figure sitting at his desk, moving his eyes, he makes eye-contact with his older brother, who looks at him with a glare.
“Speak.”
Tsukishima is in for it.
-
You lay in your bed, your phone besides you. You had already told Yachi and Yamaguchi of what happened, as well as Hinata and Kageyama after much debate.
You turn to your side, looking out your window to his as tears begin to spill from your eyes once more.
Curling up into your blankets as you cry yourself to sleep, the last thought in your mind;
“If you really want, I’ll stop liking you.”

Ghost Speak: The Teacher Part 6
part 1- part 2 - part 3 - part 4 - part 5
A secret santa gift for @thickerthanectoplasm - who asked for something with an OC of hers (I chose Annie!)
...
When Annie Fenton got home from school, she shut the door a bit harder than usual, and wriggled off her shoes a bit more forcefully than usual, and stomped to the kitchen to start eating cereal out of the box a bit more angrily than usual.
“How was school, Annie?” Danny asked over his shoulder. He kept his words light, hands still tinkering with the ecto-earpiece he’d been trying to sync to his phone’s bluetooth for a while. The gadget was meant for communication during battle, but Danny wasn’t about to pass up the opportunity for ecto-powered (therefore, him-powered) running headphones.
Annie only huffed. The sounds of fist-being-shoved-into-cereal-box and angry-cereal-crunching got louder.
Danny set the ear pieces down, and sat up straight on the living room couch, now properly angling his body around to see his daughter standing on the other side of the kitchen counter – phone in hand, angry-cereal-grabbing with the other. “Not great then?”
“School was stupid. I wrote an awesome essay and Mr. Flannigan failed me on it.”
James, seated at the kitchen table, perked up a touch. “Mr. Flannigan’s an asshole. You probably shouldn’t worry about it.”
“Hey, language,” Danny chided, now fully rising from the couch.
James looked up. “Dad I’m 15. I can say asshole.”
“No you can’t. I was 15 once and I definitely couldn’t say asshole.”
James grumbled. Danny smiled. He rounded the couch and stopped just shy of the kitchen counter. He lowered his elbows onto the countertop and leaned in. “So, that essay?”
“Look!” Annie tossed the cereal box down, yoinked her bag from the floor, tugged the zipper hard enough to risk snapping it, and rifled through the scores of smashed and stashed papers in her bag before emerging with a crumpled, stapled-at-the-corner document. “Read it!”
Danny took the paper from her. A half-sheet rubric was stapled on top. At a glance, Danny could see all categories of the rubric had been slashed-through. Scrawled at the top in black ink it said, “Not legible. Cannot grade. Please write neatly next time.”
Danny flipped the rubric. He cleared his throat and began reading. “In F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, numerous types of symbolism are used throughout the story. Such things as Gatsby’s car, the green light, and T.J. Eckleberg’s eyes all are symbolic of the themes in the story.--”
Annie slammed her hands on the counter, then threw both arms out. “See! You can totally read it!”
James nudged his way into the kitchen, ducking under Annie’s outstretched arms and sidling up behind Danny to glance at the essay.
“Annie I can read this too. I don’t know what the hell Flannigan’s problem is.”
“Language, James.”
“What the heck Flannigan’s problem is,” James amended.
Danny focused back on the essay, a bit of righteous indignation rising in his chest. He continued to skim, and not a single word was illegible. Annie’s handwriting wasn’t perfect, perhaps, and the ink had smudged in a few places. But it was neat enough, and clear enough, and certainly readable.
The front door clicked open, a gust of crisp fall air funneling in as Sam wiggled her key loose, a complicated effort with both arms wrapped about brown bags of groceries. Danny, Annie, and James all turned to watch her as she kicked off her shoes, and kneed the door shut, and set the bags down on the counter.
“You would not believe the lines today. I’ve never seen that place so crowded on a Tues—what?”
Sam paused mid sentence, eyes flitting among her family members all gathered in the kitchen, hunched over a sheet of paper. “What did I walk in on?” Sam asked, more than a little used to catching her whole family conspiring to do something stupid, dangerous, or both.
“Mr. Flannigan failed me because he’s an asshole!” Annie shouted.
“I said language,” Danny responded.
“What?” Sam asked.
“He said my writing ‘isn’t legible’,” Annie continued with air quotes. “But that’s bullshit because Dad AND James can read it no problem. Flannigan’s just a jerk and too lazy to read the essay I SLAVED over.”
“Annie’s totally right like it’s not even that messy,” James chimed in, head angling past his father.
“Yeah I skimmed the whole thing and nothing’s wrong with it,” Danny said.
“See?! Validation! And corruption in the system!” Annie banged her fist on the counter top. “I will not stand idly by as the oppressing teaching class tries to tank my grades!”
“I think we should call the school, maybe,” Danny said.
“Or I can talk to Flannigan. He knows me, and I think kinda likes me,” James offered.
“And I’ll kick his butt!”
“Or we could—” Danny started.
“Give it,” Sam said, hand outstretched and fingers curling in twice in quick succession.
“Huh?”
“The essay in your hands that you’re waving around. Let me see it.”
“Oh, right,” and Danny handed the paper over.
Sam set her eyes to it. Annie pounded one fist into her open palm.
“Whole Fenton family’s got my back,” she said. “Flannigan’s ass is grass!”
Danny cuffed her lightly on the shoulder “Language.”
“Yup, it’s exactly what I hoped it wasn’t,” Sam declared, hefting a sigh that could be felt across the room as she set her free hand to her forehead and dragged it down her face. “It’s been what, 20 years maybe? Since I’ve seen this stupid language.”
“Wait, language?” Danny asked.
“What language Mom? This is my English essay.”
“Maybe she means all your swearing?” James proposed.
“Why the hell would I swear in an English essay James? I’m not stupid.”
“Annie for the last time you better watch it with that langu—” Danny stopped cold. “…Oh. Oh. Oh no,” he said with a single quiet breath. “Wait, give it back. Give it here.” He motioned for the paper, which Sam handed to him. He smoothed out the wrinkles, and began skimming the essay again.
In F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, numerous types of symbolism are used throughout the story. Such things as—
No, Danny stared closer, squinted at the paper, willed himself to see the words one-at-a-time. Dissect. Isolate. Read. Really read.
Im F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby, hyrrelt num krechnor fa knurriert gan tepeirier van flyrr. Grakk kann nyrut—
“Oh no,” Danny muttered. “Oh no Annie, not you too.”
“Oh thank god!” Sam declared, throwing her arms up in the air. “Some sweet sweet English!”
“Some sweet—wait—wait was I--?” Danny motioned to himself, fingers spread, palm toward his face, hand waving up and down. “Have I not been speaking English? This whole time?”
“Nope,” she poked Danny in the chest, “not a single English word until ‘Oh no Annie’.”
“…Really?” Danny asked.
“I walked in here. Put the groceries down. Asked ‘what’s going on?’ And all three—all three of you—just went off. None of it was English. I’ve been working off context clues.”
“Hang on what do you mean not English?” Annie grabbed her own paper back, skimming through. “I only know English. What other language could this even be in?”
“Danny, please, answer whatever she just asked, because I don’t have the first clue what she said,” Sam said, turning to rifle through her grocery bags. “I already did this whole dance with you. I’m clocking out on this one.”
“Ghost, Annie,” Danny answered, angling his shoulders just slightly to face his daughter head-on. “Ghost Speak. Ghosts and half-ghosts just kind of, know the language, I guess. We slip into it sometimes without meaning to. Well, I usually don’t. Anymore, at least. But I did right now, I guess, accidentally.”
Annie squinted at her paper. “I wrote an essay in Ghost? I can speak Ghost?”
“You’re speaking it right now.”
“This is Ghost???”
“Listen to yourself closely. You can like, hear it on the fringes of your words.”
“Are you messing with me?” Annie shut her mouth, suddenly tingling with the feeling of sharp edges and enunciations from her mouth that she wasn’t used to. Weird curves and curls of her tongue. A hiss. A light growl. Her smile spread across her whole face. “Oh wicked. Hell yeah, hell yeah! Also, um, how do I stop?”
“With practice. And with training. And with… help… unfortunately,” Danny muttered, seeming to go a little pale.
“Oh no.” Sam paused, letting the groceries sit. “Danny, you’re not going to.”
“I am. For Annie’s sake, I’m willing to make this sacrifice.”
“What sacrifice?” Annie asked.
Danny pulled his phone from his pocket. He thumbed through his contact list and settled on one, and raised the phone to his ear, and the sound of muffled ringing filled the room. A click. A muted hello?
“Hi. Mr. Lancer? It’s Danny. Yeah. Yeah. Good, and you? Yeah, so, I need a favor from you. And before you ask, yes I’m serious—”
…
Hardly 40 minutes had passed when the doorbell rang. Annie opened the door to the sight of an old man almost too tall for the frame, and yet comically too lithe for it as well, almost like she had opened the door for a tree sapling. The old man tipped his bowler’s hat, and seemed to roll and bounce into the house with limbs made of springs.
“Yo! Danny! It has been ages! How the kryypt are you?!”
“Ryan, language,” Danny said, his tone every ounce defeated.
The bean pole man wrapped Danny in a hug, gave him two quick pats on the back and shoved him back. “Yes, language for sure. What’s the damage? Where’s the culprit? I need details.”
“This…” Danny started slowly, motioning to Annie, “is my daughter, Annie. She slipped into Ghost today and hasn’t yet been able to unslip.”
Annie blinked, trying to catch up with the conversation. She got a good look at the newcomer for the first time, as he had finally stopped moving: The man was definitely in his 70’s, his graying hair spiked up front, smushed and disheveled slightly from the bowler hat. His face was deeply wrinkled, skin practically carved into puzzle pieces from—Annie could only speculate—the way his face seemed to bend to an absurd degree with every single emotion that crossed it. He wore square-frame glasses that magnified his eyes, bug-like. His outfit was thrift store chic: hawaiian palm unbuttoned shirt, graphic T beneath with a winking cartoon alligator, tie with stacks of library books printed on it, military camo pants, socks, sandals.
“Your outfit…” Annie spoke slowly, almost in mirror of her father. Her eyes lit up. “absolutely fucking rules.”
“Ha!” the man struck a pose, superman-like, and then flipped his tie over his shoulder. “Thank you! Someone who appreciates fashion!” He stuck a comically-too-large hand out for Annie to shake. “Ryan Finn, spectral enthusiast, and long-time-Fenton-family-friend!”
“More of an acquaintance,” Danny interjected.
Annie took his hand and shook it vigorously. “I didn’t know my dad had any cool friends. Besides maybe Aunt Val.”
“I set a high bar, that’s for sure!” Ryan angled his head over his shoulder toward Danny, still shaking Annie’s hand. “Danny, this child is fantastic!”
“I’m gonna take a nap,” Sam said, rising from the couch and shutting the book she was reading. “Wake me up if anything’s on fire.”
Danny watched her go, staring at the creaking staircase until she had vanished entirely. He looked back on the room, eyes a bit wider, as if suddenly much more afraid of his current company.
“Yeah I’ve um… got to go… patrol… actually… Box Ghost… you know… yeah…” Danny rose too, much more suddenly and tensely than Sam, and transformed on spot. “If you two need anything, don’t hesitate to call Mr. Lancer.”
“Good ol’ Edward!” Ryan chimed back.
“Wait, as in Zelda’s dad?” Annie asked.
“He owes me like, a million times over. Ryan’s kind of his, anyway.”
And with that, Danny shot through the roof, disappearing as a pinprick on the horizon already several hundred feet away. Ryan watched him disappear, then turned back to Annie with a grin.
“I’ve got plenty of experience teaching Ghost, so trust me you’re learning from the best of the best. I also had plenty of time to iron out the wrinkles with my lesson plans when I was running this course on your dad.”
“Wait, you taught my dad?”
“Oh he taught me plenty too. It was mutual! It’s the mark of real life-long friends to bring out the best in each other.”
“How long ago?”
“Oh, man, 20 years ago at this point.”
“So like, you taught him as a teenager? As in when he was my age?”
“Yup and yup.”
“Do you have embarrassing stories about him I can use as blackmail? Can you tell me?? Dad acts like he was only ever cool growing up, and I need to know these things. I need dirt.”
“I will tell anything to anyone who asks with enough enthusiasm! I can keep no secrets, ever! Except one, which is your dad’s identity. I kept that one. But you already know that so I am sworn to no one and nothing! And I can confirm your dad was an absolute mess as a teenager. But still, you have to earn embarrassing stories. Do well with these lessons and we’ll see what I can dish out on your dad. So! Ghost Speak Lesson One! How to stop speaking Ghost! Are you ready kid?”
Ryan struck another pose, and with a grin, Annie mirrored it.
“Oh fuck yeah I’m ready,” she answered.
“Hey!” Ryan stuck a finger out, pointed at Annie. He paused, and the grin on his face spread wider. “I like your fucking language, Kiddo.”

Nsfw obvioulsy, I should have added this tag to the last post as well... ''Teaching Martin'' anon, this is trash and I'm sorry. I really need to brush up on my skillz. Onwards!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One of your favorite things about Saturday afternoons was that Martin had the rest of the day off. Cuda only needed him there in the morning to help process new inventory. Most of the time he left, he was in a good mood seeing as how he spent most of the time in the back away from Cuda and the other customers. He had time to himself-- time to think-- according to him he spent most of his time thinking about you. You adored that about Martin, his transparency. Since the two of you became close he had no problem telling you what was on his mind. You seemed to understand him-- really understand him. His freedom with his words only intensified once things between you became more intimate. When you thought about it you couldn't help but blush. You never would have imagined.
You spent the better part of the morning tidying up, finishing up a few errands. The two of you were going to spend the afternoon together out around town. You thought it would be a good thing, just to get him out of the house. He seemed to be in his element almost weightless as you’d walk through the park. The proverbial storm cloud would lift from his head, no longer bogged down by his self doubt-- the fear. The second he knocked on your door you bolted off the couch, deftly running your fingers through your hair.
When you opened the door he seemed almost startled, his eyes taking in your appearance. “Martin!” You exclaimed ushering him in. “You’re early.” A small smile played across his lips “He let me leave at eleven thirty.” he said as the two of you enter the kitchen. “Well that’s great, the least time around that old codger the better.” He let out a brief chuckle before stepping closer, pulling you into an embrace. He allows his head to rest on top of yours, hands soothingly roaming down your arms. “I really missed you.” He whispers, you couldn't help but smile.
“Yeah.. me too.”
You spent the next few minutes on the couch, as you went over your plans for the day. You even suggested that the two of you see a movie at five, that would kill two more hours until he had to finally go back home. For the most part he seemed to listen, offering his agreement here and there. When you finally stop talking you noticed he was watching you with an almost unreadable expression of his face. For a moment you felt embarrassed knowing full well that you sometimes tended to ramble. “Im sorry--” You laugh. “Im just going and going. Is that okay? I mean did you have any other ideas?” He smies sheepishly for a moment with a shrug, he shifts a bit inching in closer. “That sounds fine.” With a sigh of relief “Good… okay. So-- we can leave whenever you want. I already finished all my errands. Oh! And I went shopping- Did you want anything? I could fix lunch if you’d like..” He was smiling again as he reaches for your hand , gently clasping it before bringing it to his lips. “Im okay..” He whispers, before gently kissing your palm. “Thank you..” A pool of heat settles in the pit of your stomach as he begins to kiss your fingertips one by one. Drawing your pointer into his mouth sucking gently, causing you to gasp. “Martin?” He was up to something- that much was clear, He takes his time repeating the action on your other fingers. Nibbling gently, drawing them into his mouth. You found yourself leaning in closer. “What are you--” “Come here…” he whispers. You comply without hesitation wondering for a moment what happened to your beautiful shy boy. It didn’t take long for his lips to find yours, tongue delving into your willing mouth. Small content sighs as your fingernails scrape over the fabric of his shirt. He’s drawing you closer still, lips trailing along your neck. Feather soft hair tickles your collar bone causing heat to rise to your face. His teeth graze over the pulse in your neck, a soft moan escaped your throat. The sound seemed to do something to him, he’s kissing you again in earnest. Tongue melding effortlessly against yours as your fingers entwine in his hair. In a streak of boldness your fingernails scrape over his scalp-- tugging gently as your teeth sink into his bottom lip. He lets out a low moan as his fingers dig into your hips.
“Hey..” He sits back breathlessly, you can see a faint dust of color splashed across his cheeks. His lips were kiss bruised and swollen, he almost looked to be in a daze. “Hmm?” You ask kissing him sweetly for a moment. You swore, you could never grow tired of kissing him--that beautiful mouth always formed into a pout whenever they weren’t pressed against yours. He regards you through his lashes-- some of the shyness seems to have returned. ‘’ I- I wondered if I could try something?” You lean in brushing your nose across his. “What is it darling?” He chews on his lower lip for a moment, before leaning in to nuzzle your ear. The sensation of his breath sends a shiver up your spine. “Why was he being so pensive, at this point he could have whatever he wanted” His hands move to your waist, tracing lazy circles with the tips of his fingers. You could feel him breathing deeply as he sighs deeply. “I’ll show you.”
~~
The two of you managed to make it to your room still mostly clothed, but he soon began to remedy that. It didn’t take long for the two of you to shift onto the bed, he moves to rest on top of you, kissing you deeply. All tongue over teeth as his right hand dips lower, his left, clasping yours pinning it to the bed. A soft moan escapes your lips as he moves to your front, stroking you lightly through the fabric of your panties. Your teeth dig into your lip as you suppress a shudder, hips involuntarily leaning into his touch. In slow short circles, you begin to grow impossibly heated arousal seeping through the sheer white fabric. He’s breathing deeply as he presses himself against your thigh, you hadn’t even touched him yet he was already rock hard. Soon enough he slips his fingers beneath the elastic, his moan matches your own at the initial contact.
It was something about the feel of his skin, the simple touch of his hand was enough to send you over the edge. Even before the two of you became ‘ close’ you would often find yourself staring at his hands. They were gorgeous, long delicate fingers-- sparks of electricity whenever they’d brush against you. In an innocent gesture or simply taking your hand, you often imagined just how they would feel-- Better than you imagined, the first time he’d touched you...really touched you, you came within minutes, the look of surprise on his face matched his own. He panicked at first, thinking that he might have hurt you. “Are you okay?!” leaned in to kiss him.
His lips were poised above yours, breath in sync with every roll of your hips. Breathy moans would escape here and there with the occasional praise “You feel so good…” The coil in the pit of your stomach would tighter with every small moment of relief. Careening closer and closer to the edge, he draws your attention as he calls your name. Your eyes flutter open just as he removes his hand-- a kiss his answer to your sigh of disapproval. “Martin--what?” “It’s alright..” he whispers. “ I--I wanna try it..” He finishes. Your fingers weave through his silken strands, eyes transfixed on his lips. You watch as he removes his hand now slick with your arousal, bringing them to his lips. Nothing could have prepared you for the sight of him drawing them into his mouth to the knuckles-- the moan that escaped sent another pulse to your very core. Slowly he withdraws them, tongue swirling over his fingertips before darting over your parted lips. “Please… just show me how...” He kisses you sweetly, the taste of your own arousal causes your breath to quicken. “I want to make you feel really good, okay?”
~~~~~~
His lips remained hovering inches away from your inner thigh. Another small release quakes through you causing your hand to grasp for his neck. He wastes no time pressing his lips to your clit, already hardened in anticipation. His tongue delves beneath the hood, tracing in small short circles. Your hand that grasps the bedpost threatens to turn numb, your other hand was already entangled in his hair. He remains poised there” Circles..please more circles..” He lifts his head with a lust filled sigh.
“Okay?” His lips shimmer with your delight.
“Yes perfect..” You direct his head downwards. Fingers entwined in his hair, guiding the motion of his head.
So good, he was almost too good for you, you had no idea what he needed to prove. In slow short circles, his tongue moves over your aching clit. Teeth digging into your inner thigh-- you wanted him here.
With you he was enamored, you were sure that he could easily find someone else. The sight before you was so hard to ignore… the way that he craved your instant approval. Tongue delving over your arousal, he would disappear within the next few days.
Every now and then he would lift his head “Okay?”
You’d nod in agreement, just wanting him to press forward. Hips, arching against his waiting mouth, everything was perfect.

--
It was that time of the year again. Christmas. Most soldiers had the day off and went back home to visit their families and celebrate Christmas with presents and cookies. Joy and laugher, and so on. But, those who had lost their families had nowhere to go, did they? Thus, remaining on duty. A cruel truth, but it wasn't that bad spending it with their comrades, especially a certain group of three close friends.
"Eh… why do we have to this again?" Mikasa groaned.
"Because it's Captain Levi's birthday! And Christmas. And you already got him a gift, and we have the job of delivering the others' gift since they were 'too scared' of Levi… he isn't always pissed off." Eren sighed shaking his head while Mikasa only rolled her eyes, "I got him a gag disguise, Eren." Mikasa spoke, not really spoiling her gift considering she didn't bother wrapping it.
"And why did you get that for him again…?" The blonde asked, who accompanied the two since he had nothing else to do, plus he got him a chess set, seeing that he might as well get him something out of respect. "Well…" Mikasa mumbled, flashbacking to the day where Levi and her had a squabble about Eren's safety and treatment since he was a titan shifter, and it somehow ended with the words, 'you can make me wear a gag disguise and that brat would still listen, obey my orders and be afraid of me.'
"I question that, at myself too." Mikasa sighed quietly whereas Eren shook his head in response. "He obviously won't like whatever all of you got for him, he likes cleaning supplies!"
"And you got him..." Armin trailed off as he saw Eren's nod, before he responded, "Yep, cleaning supplies… anyways let's just drop the gifts and go to the cafeteria, I heard they aren't giving out stale bread today." Eren shrugged as the two agreed.
Once they reached Levi's office, they were about to knock on the door until, they heard a loud, over-enthusiastic voice emitting from his room, which was of course, Hanji. "C'mon Levi!" She pleaded. "But Levi… You got to KISS under the mistletoe! It's the rules!" Hanji exclaimed which caused the three to halt in their actions, looking at each other, confused.
"Did you hear that…?" Mikasa whispered, sounding both curious and extremely puzzled at the fact Levi, THE LEVI, who was a grumpy shorty, was about to kiss someone.
"Y-Yeah…" Armin stuttered. "We should go… what if it's Captain Hanji who's going to kiss him…? Let's not bother them…" Armin spoke, not wanting to get in trouble, especially on Christmas.
"Wait no. I have to see this." Eren spoke as he peeked through the small crack through the slightly opened door. "But Eren, Hanji sounds drunk… what if they… uh—"
"Shh, Hanji's always drunk! Now let's listen." Eren spoke as he shifted a little for the two to have space to press their ears against the closed door to listen to their rather intriguing conversation.
"Well… I mean, it is definitely is something interesting…" Mikasa admitted as she shifted, listening to them as well. Armin sighing, finally giving in to mostly curiosity, as he started to listen too.
"Hanji. The first thing I see when I arrive is you drinking alcohol in MY office? What kind of crappy joke is this?" Levi grumbled rolling his eyes. "And Kiss? You must be crazy if I'm going to kiss anything as filthy as that." Levi added as Hanji groaned.
"It's not all that filthy!" Hanji pouted as she poured a glass for Levi. "Let's drink birthday boy!" Hanji exclaimed almost too loudly, giving him the, 'I know you want it' look before Levi clicked his tongue as he took the glass from her as he started chugging it down his throat.
"I knew you wanted it."
"Shut up."
"If you kiss then sure." Hanji smirked. "I know you'd definitely want to go further after…"
"…How many glasses did you drink?" Levi asked, raising a brow.
"… fifteen…" Hanji hiccuped.
"Wait, so Captain Hanji and Levi are a couple?" Eren spoke, sounding rather shock at such a couple combination.
"Well, I mean Levi and Hanji have been meeting quite often, or so I've heard…"
"I thought it was to discuss paperwork..?" Mikasa retorted, reusing to believe that Hanji's taste in men was so low, like Levi's height. "And Levi's personality is kind of…"
"Captain Levi isn't that bad Mikasa!" Eren said rolling his eyes. "But… even for Hanji's standard… I thought she was into crazy men?"
"Well… opposites attract…" Armin shrugged.
"Shh… they're talking." Mikasa hushed the two.
"Hanji. I'm not doing it." Levi snapped as he chugged down another shot, still sober as always.
"Pleaseeeeee Birthday boy!" Hanji begged again.
"Don't call me that, it's weird." Levi grumbled.
"Hmmm? Is Levi in a bad mood?" Hanji asked chuckling.
"I'm always in a bad mood for f—"
"Yeah but you look like you're in a worse mood… because your precious brats didn't get you anything even though you just went gift-giving a couple moments ago?" Hanji chuckled, knowing he went out and bought them gifts which he personally went and placed them in their own rooms, but of course, respecting their privacy by not touching anything at all. He just placed it there and left. Levi clicked his tongue. "Shut up. They worked their asses off, it's just stuff on sale." Levi retorted, though Hanji knew he was probably still sad they got him nothing, especially when Hanji found his new squad had a rather peculiar but somewhat close bond. "There, There…" Hanji sighed as she took another shot as she patted Levi's back in a comforting manner. "Well. Either way… You're still going to kiss under the mistletoe. If you aren't going to, I'll—"
"Achoo!" A certain blonde sneezed.
"Shit." Eren cursed as Mikasa quickly hurried up to her feet signalling the two to do the same as she heard footsteps nearing the door.
Almost in a blink of an eye, the door opened as the brunette and blonde quickly got onto their feet.
"And what do you three want?" Levi grumbled, still in a bad mood. "I already have my own problems, and you three eavesdropping isn't going to do shit for me and—"
"We, uh, got you gifts." Eren spoke as he held out wrapped up presents that were from him and the other squad members, Armin and Mikasa doing the same as Levi's eyes widened. "Oh." He said simply before taking them. "Say thank you!" Hanji yelled to him from the inside as Levi clicked his tongue agitatedly as he glared at Hanji for a second before turning his focus back to the three. "Thank you… I didn't expect you guys to—"
"Neither did we, we overheard your conversation about your gift-giving." Mikasa interrupted as she handed him the gag disguise she got, Levi blinking at her gift, not knowing she'd have taken his statement that seriously, and was about to make one of his sarcastic comments until he smelt detergent. "Is that detergent…?" He asked as Eren nodded almost too cheerfully. "I know you like cleaning and—"
"I do, but detergent? Really? Who gets a gag disguise and detergent for a gift?" Levi spoke as he eyed the blonde who tensed up. "I uh— got you a chess set…" Armin spoke, assuming he wanted to know what he got.
"Well, at least someone has a normal mind here." Levi sighed before looking up at the three. The three expecting a lecture but instead they were greeted by a smile, which shocked them. "Thank you, really…" Levi mumbled quietly as Hanji chuckled softly as she watched the whole thing. "You guys are dismissed now, I'm sure you have better things to do." Levi spoke, not wanting to waste their time anymore, assuming they had plans.
"Wait." Armin spoke as Eren continued. "We were wondering… are you and Captain Hanji together?" He asked as Levi tilted his head as he let out a, 'huh?'
"Well, we heard about you having to kiss her under the mistletoe—"
"What? No. That idiot threw a broom at me when I walked into the office and asked me to kiss it since I was standing under that mistletoe thing with it that she had set up." Levi sighed, explaining it to them thoroughly, not wanting them to have any misconceptions.
"Oh…" The three spoke in sync as Levi made a 'tch' sound before turning around. "Now go away, before I report to the superiors that you eavesdropped a Captain." Levi threatened as they nodded before walking off, not wanting to run a hundred laps or something in the snow. "Thank you for your gift though!" The three exclaimed their thanks in advance, and wished him a happy birthday as well before they left wondering what he got them.
"You love them and you know it." Hanji chuckled softly as Levi rolled his eyes before sitting back down as he poured another shot for the two. "Shut up and drink, before I make you kiss the broom instead." Levi grumbled, hoping the three wouldn't come up with any rumours about him kissing a broom, if they did, he was sure to make them run a hundred laps during the next Christmas.
But he was thankful, thankful for his own reasons.
But if he had to be honest, he kind of enjoyed Christmas and his birthday today.

Summary: Sansa has to get through a tough weekend. Her boss, weekend with the family and saving her job. Oh, right, and a fake engagement too.
---
Sansa could feel her heart thumping in sync with the throbbing in her temples. Five more minutes.. just five more minutes please.
He was always early and almost everday he would step in just three minutes shy of nine o' clock in the morning. And here she was internally screaming at the line at Starbucks, moving at a glacial pace.
“Okay thanks!” Sansa hollered at the ruddy boy, the same one whom she greeted every morning when she stopped by to get her cuppas. Lucky for her, he knew exactly what her order was and all she needed to do was swipe her credit card. He was her life saver. Scrambling into a cab, she prayed, at least she'd get there a minute before her boss.
Sansa knew she should have stopped at one chapter but a wave of inspiration came over and one chapter became three - and the next thing she knew she jumped, awakened by the loud metal clang of her stationery holder that must have toppled onto the floor in the midst of her slumber.
“Oh shit! Hold please!” Sansa sighed in relief and mumbled her thanks as she rushed into the lift. She could still make in time.
8.56 am. Whew.
But of course like most of her days, it all turned to shit in a split second.
“Son of a! Nooo!” a warm sensation pooled at her chest, one of the coffee cups had smashed onto her black dress as the mail boy she raced into frantically picked up the envelopes strewn all over the floor.
“Arrghhh!” Sansa screeched and glared at him as she stomped to her desk. Angrily, she punched her computer start button. Nothing ever goes right. Nothing. 8.57 am.
“This will have to do. Jeyne will have to do without this shirt for one more day,” Sansa mumbled to herself, ripping open the plastic that covered a dry-cleaned white silk shirt she could wear over her dress. She meant to return it to Jeyne that morning but well, this was an emergency. The stain wasn't noticeable at all but Sansa was too self-conscious to ignore it.
Tying up the hems into somewhat of a cropped top over her v-neck black dress now stained and smelling of triple shot espresso, Sansa figured it looked professional enough for any meetings today. She just had to pull it off for the next ten hours or so.
“Good morn- hey is that my top?” Jeyne chuckled at Sansa's makeshift style statement.
“A teeny accident but I swear I will return this to you tonight if I have to okay. I am so sorry,” Sansa pouted, hoping her one and only friend at work would just let it go and leave it, seeing how the day was turning out to be.
“No biggie Sansa but looks good on you. I should try that some time.”
Oh thank god.
Then, the IM dinged. Two words flashed on her computer screen.
“IT'S HERE!”
Sansa looked around and watched everyone scramble back into their cubicles; no more giggling by the water dispenser, no longer was there laughing by the coffee machine just heard seconds ago. Everyone was just trying to avoid getting stuck in any common areas, any walkways that meant they had to come face to face with the boss.
Her boss, that is. Jon Snow.
How unfortunate was she to have a boss everyone loathed. Satan, she dubbed him once. Well she had many names for him, recounting many tales of her frustrations at work during her many calls to her family and it became a term of endearment almost. She could probably write a best seller one day alá Devil Wears Prada - with film rights and everything. But for now, it's ten hours a day, weekends at the office and crowded book fairs.
A figure in black went past her. His head of jet black curls was unmistakable. He was a male Medusa; never look him in the eye unless you want to be turned to ash, metaphorically speaking. The rumours that went around were ridiculously vicious albeit amusing.
“Good morning, Mr Snow. As always, here's your c-”
“Sansa, get George on the line. I just scored him an interview on Oprah and I'm gonna need to talk to him. Also, after that get Aliser a meeting with me because that dick is gonna get it from me today,” her boss strutted into his office, as if he owned the building, without as much as greeting her since his eyes were too glued to the email he was furiously typing on his phone.
“Coffee.” Sansa mumbled and cleared her throat as she waited for him to grab the takeaway cup from her outstretched hand. Like clockwork, he did, still ignoring her like as always, every morning. Sansa had gotten used to it.
Jon Snow settled into his chair and immediately turned on his computer, his phone now tossed aside now that there were more important things to start off with.
Yep, good morning to you too Satan.
“Well, so we have a staff meeting at 10, a conference call with the Westerlands office at 11 and you have an appointment at the Immigration office at 1. So should I cancel your lunch and push it back to 2 pm?”
Jon swivelled from the screen and looked at her. His brows were furrowed and to Sansa that was never a good thing. Three years with this man, this slave driver, she knew everything there was to know about him, his likes, dislikes, his micro expressions that helped her navigate through this murky depths of hell she called a job - of being the executive assistant of one the most well known and respected former Pulitzer prize winning journalist now turned editor-in-chief of Mormont & Sons Publishing. Good things don't come easy, she would tell herself that every day, through the late night coffee and dinner runs, the book fairs and the weekends in the office.
“Immigration? What? No, cancel that. I filled out those papers already. You sent them out, didn't you?”
Sansa nodded. Of course she did, she also collected his dry cleaning, his groceries and the expensive watch he had serviced, which took her an hour and half to get to the other side of the city because they were the only ones Jon trusted enough to do.
“Right, so back on with the lunch meeting then.” Sansa inched her way to the door as Jon turned back around to his computer.
“Sansa?”
Ugh.
“Who's Rick and why does he think I'm hot? Why does he have his Tinder handle here?”
What?
“Umm.. I have no idea who that is.” Sansa froze at her spot.
Jon took a sip of his coffee, his stern face visibly amused by the awful scribble on the white coffee cup. “Triple espresso shot, no sugar. Hmm.”
“Well, I'm guessing that should be my coffee that was meant for me,” Sansa finally admitted.
Jon pursed his lips as he stared at her. “So, you're telling me that you too, drink triple espresso shot with no sugar?”
Sansa shrugged. “It grows on you.. I guess.”
“I thought you drank tea.”
“Well... variety, right?”
Jon's eyes were still on her, unamused. “You spilled my coffee didn't you?”
Sansa sighed. This day was no better than any other. If only she could catch a break.
Jon pointed to his own jacket and then to her. Sansa looked down and saw a small spot of dark brown on her makeshift cropped jacket, the pristine, shiny and well pressed silk blouse. Damn it.
“Good save on the shirt.”
Umm.. thanks?
“If... there's nothing else, you know where I'll be,” Sansa pointed to her desk outside as she slowly made her exit.
Then, the phone rang.
“Mr Snow's office,” Sansa answered dutifully. “It's Mr Thorne. Do you want to take it?”
Jon thought for a moment, then gestured to a general direction - it could only mean he wanted a one on one.
“Mr Thorne, Mr Snow is on his way to you right now.”
Jon stood up and tossed a notepad to Sansa. “You're coming with me, I need a witness.”
A witness? For what?
Murder?
“Oh you self righteous son of bitch!” the bellow shook her and Sansa almost dropped her notepad.
“You think you can waltz right in here with your big head and big ass editor ego and tell me what to do? I don't think so!” Aliser yelled at him, ripping the glasses from his face.
Shit. Don't punch each other. Please.
“Oh Thorne, you really are a thorn in my ass. Actually everyone's ass. You're just a lazy, entitled braggart who can't do the job right.”
Aliser only scoffed. “So you think your hot shot award is going to get you places huh? Throw your weight around like you own this shit?
“We told you many times, get George on board, get George on board, sign him and write a couple of books. But guess who did that instead? Me. I always have to finish your job for you because you can't do it ever.”
Aliser turned silent but his face was red with rage. Sansa couldn't blame him. He was being fired.
“Look, you have two months to look for another gig. I won't make you sign a non-compete and I'll tell everyone you resigned. I'll make sure Finance settles a leaving bonus for you. For all your years of service. How about that, huh?” Jon coolly offered in an effort to diffuse the rapidly growing tension in the air. Sansa gulped. Please take it, I want to get out of this room.
“You're going to regret this Jon Snow,” Aliser warned. Jon only shrugged and made his way to the door. Sansa quickly followed behind him and only managed a polite smile to Aliser.
“You got all that down didn't you? About the non compete and everything?” Jon asked as they made their way back to his office.
“Make a note to HR and let them get on it. And tell them I'm scouting for new editors. Which means I need you this weekend.”
Sansa's heart sank at the thought. No not this weekend. It's Gramp's 80th.
“Sansa? Did you hear what I just said?”
Sansa cursed under her breath and turned her attention back to Jon as they both stood in front of his office.
“Yes.. yes of course. Got it all down. But this weekend-”
“Why? Do you have plans?” Jon's tone was enough to warrant a slap from her.
“It's my grandfather's birthday weekend and I already told them I'll be there.”
Jon looked at her unblinking. “Well, tell them you'll come for the next one. I mean, if you want to keep your job that is. You do know birthdays happen every year, right?”
Sansa hated every time he brought that up. If it wasn't the book fairs it would be overtime at the office. When does it end?
Sansa bit her lip; there was no point arguing. “All right. I'll call them later.”
Jon winked and gave a token smile. “That's the spirit.”
Defeated, Sansa inhaled deeply, picking up the phone on her desk, hoping no one would be home pick up the call.
Sansa Stark, Editor. Sansa Stark, Editor. Sansa Stark, Editor.
It was the only thing in her mind that could help pull her through whatever life had in store for her that day.
“Hey Sansa, Mr Mormont wants to see Mr Snow right away. He says it's urgent,” Jeyne's voice broke her out her reverie.
Great, another one.

Please answer all of the animal crossing questions
1. Are you of the “Tom Nook is a crook” or “Tom Nook is an honest businessman” opinion?
Honest businessman!! can he be a little tricky/mischievous sometimes? sure, especially in the older games! But he's a good dude and I love him
2. Do you play as yourself or a made up character?
I used my own name for my current character cause I didn't have a better idea, but I don't really play her as if it were me specifically? lol side note my first AC character I ever made, I named her Ducky for some reason
3. Where is your house located?
A smallish second tier cliff platform near the leftside beach, only big enough for my house and yard
4. Who were your first villagers?
Diva and Cobb. They're fine.. weren't my first choices and I wish they would head out soon, but I don't have the heart to really try to make them leave
5. Preferable method of earning bells?
I never got into the stalk market in previous games, but I'm really starting to like it! I've always primarily relied on orchards and fishing but turnips can get you sooo much from turnips if you can play it right
6. What villager personalities do you typically get along best with?
My faves are probably lazy, cranky, and normal. I really really want a cranky villager once a space clears on my island, (would especially love Apollo, he was an absolute fave in my WW village) but no luck so far.
7. Who is your current best friend in the game?
I would say.... Marina or Fauna? I love them both they are so freakin cute 😭😭😭 I also adore Flora, but she's the peppy type and that can be a little much sometimes lolol
8. Is there a villager you want to get rid of?
Diva and Cobb, Graham can go too lol. I don't hate any of them and I won't be mean and try to force them out, but I'd rather have others
9. Do you hoard a lot of items?
Yeahhh not an insane amount though, I've never actually run out of storage space even when the house was smaller
10. Take medicine or save & restart?
Just take the medicine? does anyone actually save and restart because of a sting??? why? Like the medicine is not that expensive, and it takes so much longer to restart. Sometimes I wont bother taking medicine if I know I won't be playing for much longer, but I wouldn't close the game out just for a sting?
11. Where is your favorite spot in your village?
Hmm it's all still suuuuper work-in-progress so there's not a spot that I'm totally in love with yet, but my recent project has been moving my museum and making a fountain plaza next to it, I really like that so far. Also my house area, looks like an old witches cottage and i love it
12. What achievement do you want to hit the most? (Ex: Golden equipment, all fish/bugs, etc)
Filling the museum, but specifically the art section. In previous games I have neeeeeevvver come close to completing the art section, so tbh I'll probably cry if I ever get it 100%
13. Do you know any secret tips?
Uh I don't think so lol
14. Who are your dreamies?
What is this term?? what are you talking abt? is the what the kids are calling your ideal villager?? If so, I mean I have several, like I said earlier I would love to get Apollo someday
15. Favorite furniture item?
I'm gonna base this only on what I actually own. It's dumb, not rare or special, but my skeletons lolol I have a room dedicated to creepy stuff and I love the weird arm lift thing they do
16. Favorite clothing item / outfit?
Favorite individual item is probably... the cherry blossom pochette? favorite outfit I would say is my rainy day look, a yellow QR code raincoat w the yellow rain hat and boots 😍
17. Favorite museum room?
Bugs bugs bugs I love the butterfly rotunda but I'm also obsessed with the little rivers and bridges it's all so beauuutttiifulll
18. Cedar, fruit, or palm tree?
Love the cedar trees
19. Favorite fruit?
mmm Im not picky about the fruits but probably peach
20. Favorite fish?
I love the sea butterfly exhibit in the museum, so maybe them
21. Favorite bug?
I love the snails..... effervescent..
22. Favorite flower breed?
Mums are very pretty
23. Favorite crossbred rare flower breed + color?
I don't have many rare crossbreeds atm but I'm very into the 1 or 2 black tulips I have!
24. Favorite villager personality?
Didn't we already do this question?
25. Favorite time of day to play?
whenever I can lolol. Sunset/evening is pretty rad though
26. Favorite special visitor event or reward? (Ex: Selecting an art piece from Redd, aiding Guliver and getting a special item, etc)
I love Redd he's great, so glad he's back lol. Also love Celeste so much!
Tbh I find the process of dealing with Guliver and Wisp annoying. I'll do it cause I want the reward, but hunting down so many pieces is no fun to me :/
But does KK count for this? He's my top tier all time favorite I love that funky little dog
27. Favorite KK song?
Hard to chooooose.... A long standing fave from even previous games is KK fusion, or the K funk
28. Favorite animal crossing game?
ACNH hands down. I will always have so much love in my heart for the original and for ww (never had others) but NH is like, everything I've ever wanted from an AC game, and the fact that it's released in this time has pretty much cemented it as being one of the most important games of my life, probably a lot of peoples lives.
29. If you’ve played Animal Crossing before, are there any animals you’re nostalgic for? If this is your first game, has any animal in particular left some effect on you?
Apollo, Peanut, Kiki, Gwen just to name a few (In WW I based my main room off of Gwen's for soooo long cause i was obsessed with her city skyline wallpaper)
30. Share a story from your gameplay
Earlier this evening, I saw two shells right beside each other on my beach, but they jumped and scurried off completely in sync when I went to pick them up. I think I interrupted a hermit crab date.
As always, thanks for asking! Would love to see your answers to these too 😊

i thought 2x03 was absurd honestly. if alec had just chilled out for a sec, jace would've been home safe and sound. they were trying to show alec cared but imo it just made him look stupid. and 2x04/ 2x05 was a joke too with them making alec be traumatized by killing jocelyn and then todd saying they only did it so they could do a clalec frenemy arc (even tho they already did that in s1? ) why the repetitive cringy dramatics instead of just being normal friends? the beg of 2a was so bad imo
ohh anon you are asking me to go in deep with all these points because you are correct the show really said fuck you and delivered some of the ugliest shit dshafiosdfh
first of all, everyone is dumb on this show we already fucking know that, the only characters that have critical thinking are luke and magnus tbh so alec being like “that can kill me?? bro im literally the most rational character and i try to know the results of something before acting but yeah i guess i can do it because the plot needs me to haha fuck you jocelyn” .. anyway i think the show was trying to go more in depth with alec and jace’s parabatai bond but they failed lmao, the only thing i liked was how most of it wasn’t “i have to save my parabatai or i’m doomed” but rather “i have to save my brother or he’ll die” which was good but we never see anything with that level of impact again because every single thing related to the parabatai bond is how they are connected and how if one of them dies the other dies, it shouldn’t be like that, and it should have been explored outside of just jace and alec, i would have loved for the show to make up its own rules about the parabatai bond and present them to us, like maybe let them share things they feel and not just in “i feel how he is sad” but actually allow them to feel how the other is suffering idk. tbh it would have been so cool to see them fighting together and actually being in sync knowing exactly what the other is about to do, one of the most amazing ways to film fighting sequences is when continuous shots are used, so imagine how fucking cool it would have been if they kept a continuous shot going around a room showing how they were mimicking each other and the bond was what helped them kill whatever enemy ugghhhh also like yk how jace said he could feel how alec was happier but it was like he didn’t even fucking cared lmao they could have shown them BONDING OVER THAT BUT I GUESS EXPOSITION IS BETTER THAN ACTUALLY USING SOMETHING PRESENTED TO THE AUDIENCE TO FURTHER THE DEVELOPMENT OF RELATIONSHIPS AND CHARACTERS anyway the parabatai bond was awful and boring and completely unnecessary but because it gave alec and jace a reason to care for each other without actually having to dive into their dynamic it was brought up again and again to beat us over the head with how they are supposed to want the other to live or whatever man fuck that
anyway the 2x04 plot is so dUUUUUUUUUmb i hate it so much and fuck todd for that because dude how are you so fucking lazy to the point that you can’t get two main characters to form a friendship like how are you so fucking LAZY shut the fuck up!!!!!…. ok so i don’t remember where i said this but at the end of s1 (like you mentioned) they were already showing clary and alec starting to become friends, the scene in 1x12 proved it, and then in 1x13, todd and co are so fucking idiotic it pisses me off how easy HOW FUCKING EASY wouldn’t it have been to have them worry about jace and become a team to get him back, they literally wouldn’t have needed anything else to develop the friendship that would have been enough and after that they could have just shown casual scenes but they lack fucking brain cells holy shit. i love the talk clary and izzy have after clary starts doubting herself believe me but wouldn’t it have been better to have alec be the one that talked to clary???? like ok they could have had alec say the shittiest things to clary, blamed her for everything, snap at her because that’s what alec does, but once izzy has talked to alec about how clary also wants jace back alec goes to apologize to clary, and they mention how much jace means to each of them idk and in the process guess what they get to develop the relationship between alec and jace and also clace!!!!! IT’S THAT FUCKING EASY and it wouldn’t have been ooc because it’s literally what previews scenes were leading up to!!!!!!!!! ugh i just hate how dumb everyone that was in charge is like get some creativity bitch you don’t need to act like alec wants clary dead but then because he feels guilty about something he feels forced to be nice to her
2a was so fucking ugly i hate it with everything in me tbh and i hope you all understand why BECAUSE HOLY SHIT GARBAGE!!!!!!

thank you for the submission!! hope you enjoy! -shippety mod alex
I ship you with: Yoosung Kim!!
-Miss Art Major, this sweet boy fell in love with everything about you, and being with you makes him want to be a better version of himself, the best version, all in order to make you proud
-he loves your energy, the way you go on and on about things you love, things you see and life.
-even loves your gremlin side, and is more often than not seen goofing off with you as the rest of the rfa stares vaguely disappointed at the two of you (minus seven, who is in on most of your shenanigans)
-the most important thing in any relationship is to have like minded morals , reacting the same way to important situations and having each others backs no matter what, something hard to find in everyone, but with yoosung it comes almost naturally, making the two of you so easily in sync with each other
-he’s one to match your energetic energy all the time, even post gaming sessions
-being with you just makes him so happy!! he loves holding your hand and showing you terrible vines
-he absolutely has a ticktok account, which he teases you with by making you watch his cringey videos

-absolutely a crack couple
-He Loves Pikachu Too!!!
-he has to try not to cry whenever he sees the surprised pikachu meme because “he’s just too cute”
-but in all seriousness, he does share your love for the popular pokemon lad
-he even won you a pikachu plushie from a claw machine on day afterschool; he was passing by an arcade on his way home to you when the little man stuck in the claw machine caught his eye from the sidewalk, and he knew he had to get him for you
-it takes him about an hour to successfully get him, but he cant wait to see the look on your face when he gives it to you. it takes him a second before he realizes what time it is, running home in a panic. Throwing open the door, he yells out an apology to seemingly no one, until he sees you deep in thought while drawing a sketch, promptly startled by the materialization of the blonde boy in front of you.
-practically yeets the pikachu at you in more panic, beaning you square in the jaw
-okay so basically:
yoosung:
cami:
-.......yeah its kinda chaotic
-but on the flip side!!
-he likes watching you paint, completely mesmerized by your talent, and makes sure that you know just how amazing you are by showering you with compliments and sweet cheek kisses, making genuine compliments about everything that you draw
-you draw him a shitty meme-y sketch of his LOLOL character as a joke, but unbeknownst to you, he loves it and permanently has it in his wallet alongside a photo of the two of you on your first date, both you so cheesily grinning at each other, still processing the trauma of the 11 days pre-party had put you through, still too nervous to fully hold each others hands, resulting in an awkward pinky promise type hold, which had eventually become your guys’ “thing,” interlocking pinkies as a silent form of “i love you” and reassurance
-he feels like the luckiest guy in the world whenever he so much as sees you, and the fact that you’re a college student too adds an extra layer of understanding to your relationship!
-he likes teasingly resting his elbow on the top of your head, using the six inch difference in height to his full advantage in making you frustrated, dramatically bending down to kiss you whenever you’re alone
-kitchen counter kisses while he’s cooking breakfast, he often gets so distracted by you watching him cook, sleepiness still clouding your eyes, the morning sun bouncing off your figure, making you glow like an angel in the lazy light that he cant stop himself from moving over to you and tenderly cupping your face, stroking your cheek with his thumb as he leans in to kiss you, not remotely caring about the smell of burnt omelet and the distant ring of a fire alarm
-he’ll attack you with tickles if you actually get mad at him, grinning widely, nimble fingers tickling your sides until you laugh so much you have to kick him away, yoosung taking it as a sign of your forgiveness
-of course, all this means is that you and seven will be launching another prank attack on yoosung

3rd Habitversary in 2019
Today , April 14th, I celebrate my 3rd year Habitversary. The second one was skipped, forgotten along with all my tasks and Habitica itself, by the time I was experiencing my longest, hardest, and most teaching burnout of my Habitican life!
I learned that burnouts happen to me when I take too much pressure on myself and have too many difficult Dailies that I can't face. So, I faced not a single one instead of trying to do the best that I can, by avoiding Habitica almost completely. The magical key to break this bad vicious cycle is to Rest in the Inn WHILE doing the Dailies that I feel like doing, with no pressure. Then, I will only leave the Inn when I'm able to reach one Perfect Day, maybe 3 to make sure. This way, I'll still be leveling up, building motivation, but with no stress. Because Habitica is not about adding all the tasks that I can remember and doing as much as (im)possible; it's a tool to build motivation, which will generate progressive productivity. It can be like a muscle\battery of will power (as I read in The Power Of Habit), if well designed and oiled.
The (other) problem is that I'm now noticing that each task is unique, and it only stays without change when I don't evolve in it. So, it's a good thing to constantly adapt (at least, the most important) tasks title and description accordingly to my evolutions and consequent adaptation of new techniques that I'm building. This means that I need, with great awareness, to periodically check if each task is working as it should, and edit it accordingly to how it should be right now, specially Dailies and Habits. I'm thinking about adding a monthly revision about this. Adding monthly summaries instead of only the weekly ones helps a lot, too.
I'm now facing 20 dailies and more, the double of what I could do in the past, and challenging my comfort zone every day, without breaking the Perfect Day streak (I'm amazed with myself every day!). The Big Mountain of ToDo's is still to be conquered, but I'm managing it slowly: I'm using a dedicated Trello board to manage this, but it needs a serious update.
Priority monsters of the past (that is, during 1st Habitversary): I'm getting much better with my passive-aggressive behavior (thanks to a dedicated Habit), and avoiding conflict like a stealth ninja. But the world is a mess, so I'll still find opportunities for better training. I'm also understanding others better, but there will be always room for improvement on this topic. Plus, I'm building positivity and optimism behavior. These all might look like simpler things nowadays, but after reading my 1st Habitversary, I noticed how I was really struggling with these. Evolving on these issues made my life significantly better.
Tools: Forest has become a game changer for my Pomodoro Technique: I now have a tree code: Starry Tree and Rainbow Flower - Frogodoro (priorities) Moon Tree and Ghost Mushroom - Work after midnight Cactus and Ball Cactus - Avoiding priorities, but working Scarecrow and Pumpkin - Procrastinating Treehouse, Rafflesia - Domestic tasks (previously Habitica Tasks) Nest - Nap Ginkgo and Sunflower- Professional Wisteria - Writing, paperwork Mushroom - Plan Still working on it (specially the tags), but these ones will probably stay. The rooms are specially motivating, since I can invite someone else to work at the same time as me, helping me to share the burden and avoid laziness. I have now a LOT of Forest friends, and I'm very happy that some of those are Habiticans. Some conclusions: The 1st Pomodoro of the day is always the hardest. Frogodori make the day easier and easier. Habitica public challenges improve my Pomodoro dedication.
Duolingo is my go to App to start learning a language, and I'm in a streak with more than 100 consecutive days. Anki is now also used for affirmations: very useful! Trello is used for several projects that involve several tasks, and I find this very organizing, especially when I add specific quality tags to each board. IFTTT adds some cards. RescueTimer is still running on the background, but I haven't checked it for months. OneNote has more detailed notes about how I play Habitica: after this big burnout I struggled a lot to remember what each symbol and task meant, so now I have a dedicated section with everything that I'm doing regarding game mechanics (plus extra notes from specific tasks), because I can't trust my memory every time. Stylish is my permanent eye saver companion when using Habitica site (added some personal styles too), and the Chrome\Firefox extension Dark Mode (#4 (pitch dark)) is very useful, also. WunderList is not perfectly configured and I'm lazy to make it work, but will probably be using it again. Productivity Challenger and Toggl are the only two tools that I stop using since my last celebrated Habitversary.
Future ideas (brainstorming): Hard Mode: Forest in Hard Mode (every second I lose a little bit of focus, a tree dies). Try first: tree dies after 2nd or 3rd distraction. Wardrobe limits: Thinking about paying GP + a negative medium Habit every time I want to change a piece of battle equipment. I'm always using the best equipment for the best Habitica points, and because now I can beat this strategy, it's probably making the game too easier, and less dynamic. Timeclock: if I don't do a Daily by x hour or x hours after waking up, press a specific negative Habit. Offline experiment: Going back to Wunderlist, or use another extension that syncs to Habitica Dailies (shouldn't be Habits because they don't have 21 streaks). Try other extensions to improve game mechanics, automation and time spent on managing Habitica tasks. I need to reduce the time that I spent with habit tracking: although it's giving me great results, it's also probably consuming more energy and time than it should, I suspect.
Other notes: Depression and anxiety still attack from time to time, but now I have tasks and list of routines that I can do to prevent and recover from it faster than ever before, and healthier! Adding the Morning and Go To Bed Ritual is being very difficult, so instead of risking to lose the Perfect Day streak, I prefer to use my second account to get familiar and test this new routine. I inserted a limiting cheat system for Dailies: to skip a Daily, I have to pay 100 GP for each 1000 GP that I own, I can't do this more than 3 times per day, I also have to press 3 negative habits, and a £ marker needs to be added as a checklist item. A Daily cannot have more than 3 £ markers, and every time I want to remove a marker, I have to pay the same penalty as before. This makes me delay the Daily (and pay a penalty) instead of really skipping it, and if a Daily has 3 markets then I know that I really have to spend special focused time on it! I also added a -£ option, for when I do twice as much of that Daily than I should on that day. This helps me to keep doing my daily goals around the time that they need to be done, instead of EXACTLY at the time they need to be done. It brings more flexibility to the daily routines, and helps me to not avoid them, because I delay them instead of skipping them. It also makes me be focused on several Pomodori for a specific task instead of a single one per day.
I'm now (30/04/2019, updating and revising this text) on my 3rd Adventure, at level 103. I'll make a better resume of this 3rd Adventure In the beginning of next month.
P.S.: I just now realized that I haven't published the Report of my second adventure yet! So that's why I was delaying this Habitversary update… Oh well, I have to deal with it next month too. More to come!!
