i have once again jumped to a new fandom LMAO ya bois gettin into BATMAN. i bought the arkham trilogy on steam a lil while ago when they were on sale, and i also bought a couple of comics. but so far ive only played through asylum and only read year one cuz ive been too busy just stalking the batman tag on here LOL

ANYWAY this is my attempt at figuring out how i wanna draw bruce. tbh im not 100% sold on how ive drawn his face but i do think this is how ill be drawing the suit! i wanted to put my own spin on it while still taking inspo from official designs and i like where i landed here (ovo)b

Who is your favorite author

i might get called cringe for this but sjm is genuinely my favorite author. no other books get me as hyped as hers or have helped me through as many personal things. they'll always hold a special place in my heart <3

some of my other favorites include:

and it may have come to crystal's attention and she decided to preorder a copy of ebonwilde and surprise me with it wtf?? i'm still in shock over this

and send me some extra goodies alongside my ebonwilde preorder bonuses, like her sending me the two character cards i was missing from when greythorne was released (you can't really see it but it's that sleeve in the bottom right with writing on it lol)

oh! and she sent me her last bloodleaf arc and signed and personalized it for me. alongside a post card where she personally apologized to me about what she did to nathaniel and castillion (AS SHE SHOULD)

overall crystal smith is one of the nicest authors i've had the pleasure of interacting with and her books and characters mean so so so much to me. everyone go read them and talk with me about them PLEASE

technically? i learnt to drive in a manual ute that is ABSOLUTELY not roadworthy but i did not get a manual licence :( sort of regret that but im sure if i got back in a manual i could do it again. probably

i wanted to be a scientist because i was under the impression that scientists blew things up and that it was exclusively their job to do that. i still want to be a scientist tbh but for different reasons

Funny story I actually just made this post on my original account but my finger slipped and I deleted everything I ever did, created, liked, reblogged, existed for, etc. So here I am, accidentally logged into my mystery account I forgot about.

I am here to start a book blog! For the summer? For the year?? For the ever?! Yes. I’m so excited.

Here are some books I’ll be reading in the next few weeks

Dark Rise- I have started this book first and im so excited to get into it. I heard from reviews that it has a cliffhanger. So I figured that I would read it right away, mourn the cliffhanger, and then jump into more books as I wait for the sequel to come out. Good plan?

The Charm Offensive- I have heard many nice things about this book! The thing that caught my attention was talk about how the characters have good development with their emotions and handling traumas? I really enjoy character development like that. (I just finished reading the Simon Snow Trilogy and also Boyfriend Material. All of these books had pretty emotionally vulnerable characters which is awesome to see!)

The Cruel Prince- This is me falling to my knees for the hype. (I would say booktok but I don’t have one of those) I’m excited for this one because of the quotes and fan art I’ve seen from the fandom. I’m always down for some fae fantasy and a badass female lead. I hope that’s what I’m getting from it.

The Priory of the Orange Tree- This book was recommended to me by a friend and I can’t wait to start it! (700+ pages? Yes please) I know the least about this book out of this list but am excited to jump into the world. I hear that it’s sapphic and a wonderful story, we love that!

I love fantasy as my main, but my second favourite is crime/ true crime and things like Agatha Christie

Are you a planner or a write as I go kind of person?

Both. I like to have a variety so I can get stuff done and not stress about some fun projects whilst outlining the serious ones that need a lot of work

What music do you listen to while writing?

Mostly musicals, right now its Wait For Me/Reprise from Hadestown, and then there's things like Linkin Park New Divide and Numb

Keep The Peace is part of my series Amongst The Chaos, an adult fantasy slice-of-life supernatural series where its a bunch of characters living in the city of Nottingham, and meeting up at various places to get together and talk about events that have happened in their lives as they live amongst the supernatural - e.g Angels. Demons, Ghosts and the like and their reactions to the chaos.

If someone were to make a cartoon out of you what would your standard outfit be?

jogging bottoms and a lilo and stitch t-shirt or a game of thrones t-shirt, stich trainers, a stitch handbag and a sunflower lanyard.

Create a character description of yourself: 

Fat non-binary person really into eating and crafting and loves to dye hair different colours, cannot see for shit without glasses and cannot drive.

Do you like incorporating actual people you know into your writing?

Yes and no. All my characters are original, but sometimes my mother will suggest 'oh, write about our family, your nephews, the cats' ect and to be honest with you, ive never figured out how to fit them in, so i dont.

Are you kill happy with your characters?

Oh yeah, absolutely. I will kill whoever I want to, whenever I want to. I'm not afraid to get violent with the deaths, but I gotta do it justice

Coffee or Tea while writing?

Tea, Hot Chocolate or different juices, depending what's in my reach and i'm interested in.

Slow or fast writer?

It depends on how motivated i am, when im not in writers block i can write 2k within like 2 hours

Where/who/what do you draw inspiration from?

Everything - the books i read, the games i play, the music i listen to.Bad writing pisses me off real bad and I know I can do better

If you were in a fantasy world, what would you be?

A librarian or writer completely done wih the city being destroyed by the supernatural but being really intrigued and trying not to die.

Ok Ok Ok - HEAR ME OUT

So i’m loving what i’m doing with Bitter Water so far - but i’m struggling to move the story/relationship dynamics between Reader and Finnick along because they’re still so young.

My original plan was to write out majority of the victory tour THEN time skip

BUT

My brain is itching to write more developed dialogue and interactions so i’m thinking of writing a summarized version of the tour in a singular (very long) chapter like i did with the 67th Games with a big event at the end before skipping ahead to Reader and Finnick being around 22 and their interactions are more solidified so i can also bring in the main plot of the trilogy slowly.

This also means the slow burn will ramp up with more tension than just “RAAA im mad at you but can’t stay away from you RAAA”

because 16 y/o Finnick & Reader are ADORABLE but also silly teenagers that don’t know what big feelings are 😀👍🏻

Really i just have too many cliches and scenes kicking around in my brain that i don’t think would work when both of them are sixteen and i want to move things a bit quicker ahaha

lots of different ones! i have the most for julie and the phantoms, but also lockwood and co, the bright sessions, and jurassic world: camp cretaceous/chaos theory. i do have ones for leverage, the flash, the 100, and a few others i think

literally all of them???? uhhhhh for jatp i've killed just about everyone but the most unmentionable ones are learn to live with the unimaginable (carlos) and i miss the days when (luke survives). for lockwood it's probs but the wolves came and went (and we're still standing) aka my torture fic. one of my personal favs is my flash fic, Betrayal (Or, how he finds out) ALSO ALMOST FORGOT i thought i was innocent (but there is blood all on my hands) for bright sessions!!

i do happen to have some fluff fics!!! you are alive. is one of my favs of my jatp ones, and what a glorious feeling (i'm happy again) for lockwood. also shoutout to i need you like water for my happy green boys kissing in the rain

nope! i think i maybe sorta did once, but i just screenshotted it to share with my friends and laugh about it lol

no, but im not opposed to someday doing it. the closest i've gotten is i hate you i love you (i hate that i want you) for bright sessions or what a glorious feeling for locklyle

the main project is Book Draft. it is a fantasy novel about two gentleman rogues seducing a lady so they can steal her big magical tornado. to pull this off, they will have to convince this lady they’re completely normal about her big magical tornado, completely normal about each other, and definitely not that pair of guys who’ve been in the news for trying to steal big magical tornadoes (they’ve been plotting and scheming and never succeeding). they will also have to ignore a variety of glaring red flags from the lady herself, who mostly seems interested in using them for hard labor and might also be creating an army of statue people. oh and her big magical tornado is in danger of breaking free and wreaking destruction over the land. can our heroes act like normal dudes long enough to fool this lady, seize her big magical tornado, and make sure it doesn't break loose? or will their obvious codependency and inability to admit their own mistakes be the death of them both???

(it will be a secret worse third thing, and I’m VERY excited to get there)

beat for beat this is an expanded version of a 15k thing I wrote last year. which i could not sell because when a story is that length you run out of places to send it VERY quickly. luckily I have always been a novel gal anyway so I was like lol time to write everything that comes after this lil 15k episode! and then when I had like 80k of followup I tried writing a query letter about it, realized I was trying to cram a trilogy into a novel, did some soul searching, and now we are here, on book 1. hopefully I can start querying it sometime this year!

other than Book, im renovating the ending on another possibly unsellable 15k novelette, working on a short story that revolves around a stupid pun, and writing on a narrative podcast about building pyramids in ancient egypt! all very exciting and fun. and the cause of wrist tendonitis
