SO . back in the old days of like. july, i watched st1 and finally started understanding the posts my mutual tumblr user @parkitaco (hi parker <3 this ones on you /j) had been reblogging . and i had seen these gifsets and analysis and went "hmm interesting !! wonder if ill be able to convince my parents to let me watch" (which i did . so hello)

and upon understanding these posts i was like. hm okay that makes sense WAIT SHIT im not supposed to SEE THAT bc SPOILERS. so i blocked the stranger things tag . as one does.

then the following series of event happened: i watched s2ep1 (the arcade part). i was like . "... oh ??" . watched s2ep2 . "yeah i see it" . unblocked the tag. UNDERSTOOD. the rest is history

my favorite moment of theirs ,,,, oh fuck probably like. all of s2 , ,, the crazy together scene makes me like bounce in my seat whenever i watch it and same with the hand holding scene. MOMENT however just like. every time they sit close to each other at all throughout the series why are they sitting so close hm hmmmmm

i know other people have pointed out the whole 'everyone else fighting demons and mikes fighting the gay thoughts' thing but seriously

so there’s this thing i noticed, even before there were any talks about a possible stranger things time skip.

in the 4x6 at suzie’s house when they’re trying to find the location of el, i was curious what’s on the screen, and this number: 19840619 150405 is there multiple times, also with additional 4 (198440619..)

but few scenes later, there’s also in a slightly different version: 20040619 150405

mileven enjoyers will be like “they’re obviously in love, look at this” and then it’s mike refusing to tell her he loves her and standing completely stiff with his eyes open while she kisses him passionately.

i have nothing against ppl who like mileven as a ship, i think alright in s1-2 but we need to accept that it’s run its course. he treats her terribly??? they aren’t even a cute couple anymore :(, the second she stood up for herself (when he refused to say ily after literally three years of dating), mike got butthurt and played the victim. she doesn’t deserve to be dating a guy that’s only with her because he can’t accept that he isn’t in love with her- it’s hurting both of them, but especially eleven. at this point people are just putting them together because they’re interpreting the show’s portrayal of a painfully toxic relationship as a strong relationship just because it lasted for a long time (literally only because of el’s codependency- if anyone else had taken her in, she’d have fallen in love with them too, she just imprinted on mike like a baby bird because he happened to be the first person she saw). if you enjoy the ship good for you dude!! right on! but if you can’t accept that they need to break up for their own well being you’re a little delusional.

was reading a really good thread that contextualized mike's actions this season (as compared to the previous seasons) and really, if you think about it, mike's massive hero/savior complex and his tunnel vision on the person he's projecting it to is the reason we're all feeling like this right now, isnt it? maybe he grew into this singular mindset in st4 AND then he latches on to that person that he thinks needs his protecting, even when they're actually much more capable. im just pissed that he and/or the writers thinks its a singular role and that he seems incapable of caring about other stuff (cough people cough) when he has settled on that one person (i.e. will or el). its kinda obssessive and kinda toxic and thats why it felt bad, felt off. or maybe the duffers just cant write shit like st1 or st2 again they fumbled on mike so bad, who knows!
