god its been forever since i plagued your inbox with my chattering, but i hope you wouldn't mind a question?

you see, im hoping to start my first Big Fanfic Project with a properly fleshed out AU and all that, but i find myself getting super overwhelmed by the Amount of Stuff im thinking that i want to fit in! I want to have a general outline (maybe with acts, like you do!), but i also have no idea how to go about doing That D:

do you have any tips for organizing your storyline/plots? for pacing? or maybe some sneak peeks into how you do it? i only ask because the night life au is literally like a proper book series and im in Awe at how you keep track of everything and execute it so well!

no pressure to answer, of course! you could just totally ignore this if you wanted lolol

so the first thing I'd probably suggest is writing everything down. it doesn't matter if it's a word, a single sentence, a whole paragraph. if you have ideas, get them down on paper--whether that be a physical piece of paper, a document, or a note in your phone, even if the ideas are something that happens a long time down the road of the story

the way that I'd go about doing an outline is taking it one chunk at a time, especially if you break up into acts. you've already got your ideas that you want to fit in written down, now the next step is figuring out the order or where everything goes. you don't necessarily have to know what goes into what arc or act, but as long as you have a general idea of the order of events that take place, it makes planning a lot easier

it's also really good to have a goal for each arc, I'll use night life as an example for that :D

arc one of night life is my introductory arc. I'm introducing the reader to this mythical world that exists alongside humanity, so I need to introduce the basic concepts (i.e. what kind of creatures exist, how magic works, what their way of life looks like). you don't need to introduce every concept at once, or go out of your way to tell the reader everything immediately. just slowly introduce what you think is relevant or important for the reader to know early on

arc two I have a focus on scar's character and building his relationship with grian and mumbo, while working up to his big betrayal at the end. aaaand of course arc three I'm focusing on the murders once more, while fixing up mumscarian's relationship again JFDHGJHGF

I've mentioned it before, but a really helpful tool for organizing notes is a program called obsidian :D it's free to use, and it's kept me. so organized with night life LMAO. for example, regarding arc one, my notes ended up looking like this:

the important thing with big, fleshed out aus, is breaking them into smaller chunks and doing things one at a time. I've got a lot that goes down in arc 3, but it's easier to look at the next three fics rather than the next seven, y'know? if you take it into smaller pieces, it's a lot less overwhelming than looking at the whole thing

as for pacing.... it's a little tricky, because everyone feels pacing a different way. for myself, I try to think about my plot beats as if the story was an episodic tv series. if I can make my pacing align with the pacing of a show, it's normally pretty good for me. but that might not work for everyone fjghfjhgfj the best piece of advice I can give for pacing is: write it out, and see how it feels while you're writing. that's kind of the only way you'll know if your pacing feels weird

it's one of those difficult ones because you can get a pretty vague idea of what the pacing looks like, but you won't know 100% until you're in the middle of writing

it's totally okay to not have everything figured out at once, or to have some missing details. you can fill those in later (and sometimes they naturally fill themselves in as you're writing!)

also !!!! because I'm a very big believer of this, and have done this multiple times with night life: if you've got a multichapter fic that has some chapters posted, and the story isn't feeling right to you anymore, or you don't like the direction it's going? it's okay to delete it and try again

I think a lot of people have this general belief in fandom that once you post a fic that's the only shot you get at it, but that's not true !! if you're two chapters into a five chapter fic, and you're writing chapter three and you realize the idea needs to be looked at again, or changed entirely, do it. that's okay. especially when working on a big, long running project like that

which leads me to, your outline is not a contract !!! the story will grow and change organically as you write more of it, and that’s alright! use the outline as a guide, not a permanent fixture. you can change your outline up as you go along :D

BUT THEN they get SO sick and IT HITS THEM LIKE A MOTHERFUCKING BUS. Theyre low key just as surprised as anyone else because theyre so out of touch with their body they dont even realize it until they just straight up pass out or something

but even then they dont even admit it like “me? sick? never”

and yummm what if they dont know what to do because theyre never sick like its a first and they are so *bad* at dealing with it, like so bad it’s embarrassing someone has to step in. when caretaker steps in theyre like “this is how u do it” but then sickie goes like “but im not even sick” and caretaker is patiently like “yeah mhm”

bonus points if they hate being fussed over. maybe someone tries to put their hand on their forehead to check for temperature and they will dodge out the way with such speed like they’re low key so *uncomfortable* with the amounts of attention theyre getting they would rather suffer in silence (ill let you ponder on why 🤭)

but alas whatever they caught is A BITCH so they have to get bombarded with love and affection cue evil laugh <3

u could do this for any character u see fit, but cyno is def a suggestion cuz i can see him doing that (and because i love seeing him suffer sorry not sorry)

This is SUCH a good concept! I love the whole scenario of "character never gets sick so when they do get sick it's bad." There's just soooo much potential with the trope! And I'm a sucker for characters who're not used to being sick, so they just do not understand what's happening.

Even better if they're avoiding being fussed over like the plague! But damn they need it because they have no idea how to look after themselves.

This definitely works for Cyno! Though it wouldn't fit in my current modern au, because unfortunately for him I've made poor Cyno very used to being sick there. So if I were to write this for Cyno, it'd have to be super far back in the past, or part of a different au!

But but but, here me out. Sethos. This could be a brilliant introductory fic for him into my modern au. Since he hasn't appeared yet, he's the perfect candidate for the "has no experience with being sick" trope.

But that's just an idea! I absolutely love all of this, and I'd be equally happy to write this for a different version of Cyno as well!

He leaves the port mafia during to almost after stormbringer and I won't say how or why but I will say Verlaine helps him. NOW joining the ada as an unstable 16 year old nuclear reactor is not the best especially when it's small and very loving and Chuuya's last found families ended terribly. Now chuuya really struggled when he first joined for a bunch of reasons a few being

Fresh out the sheep he fears the ada is using him for attack purposes especially since they don't have any strong combat fighters

fresh out of the port mafia he feels like he can't do good thing

Fresh out the flags he feels like accepting a new family straight away is saying he didn't care about them and he feels like allowing there affection is dishonourable to their memory

Small other point on the flags. Chuuya feels like the flags would have wanted him to stay with the pm and he's putting all they did for him to waste

So chuuya already has a few issues there, now let's add a few more. Chuuya doesn't like Fukuzawa because he feels like Fukuzawa wants him as firepower and he wants chuuya to forget the flags and chuuya doesn't like ranpo because he knows to much about his past and chuuya doesn't like yosano cause he just went through all of those things with Prof. N

Now what does chuuya do about all of this? Act out. He'll be disrespectful to Fukuzawa and yosano and he'll be reckless with himself in missions (keep in mind he's not being reckless with the safety of others in this. Only himself). Chuuya is doing this because of his feelings and because he doesn't believe the agency care for him and he's trying to make them snap- which doesn't work, instead he gets a long talk with ranpo that calms him down somewhat (I forgot to mention entrance exams but chuuya kinda has two- one when he first joins thats easy because ranpo had a plan, and a second actual one which is him accepting the agency). He's not rude to Fukuzawa now just distant but he's avoiding yosano like the plague. Chuuya gets injured and tries to hide it, when Fukuzawa finds out he's dragged to the infirmary where he freaks out and breaks some of Yosano's equipment. Yosano is pissed (but not actually) and as punishment she makes him her errand boy for a month and during the whole errand thing chuuya actually befreinds yosano. Now cause this is getting super long I'm gonna shorten the rest. Chuuya becomes Yosano's apprentice and then he ends up working with her in the Ada's medical field this cements the fact he isn't being used as a weapon as he originally agreed because medical work doesn't require tainted as attack, he also does it as a way to make up for all the blood he's shed before. Yosano helped him learn some value in life but his morals are still a bit off. Chuuya's outfits in the ada au also have symbolism I'll bring up another time but that's it for now!!

Since like, this summer, I’ve had this vague concept of a mallesil modern au, and it never really inspired me. I realized last night, while my mind was plagued by insomnia, that it didn’t give anything because i didn’t really flesh out silver as much as malleus. So here’s the concept.

Malleus —> like, 24 yrs old, just starting a masters in architecture. He’s the guitar in pop music club’s band. Also plays just about any instrument. Tattoo artist on the side. Rich boy, dead parents, grandma lives in a huge mansion, idk what his family does and why theyre so wealthy honestly like. Granny is strict and she disapproves of mal being in a band and living on his own, but he dgaf. He knows hes going to have to inherit whatever role granny occupies and tbh he’s comfortable knowing hes going to have like, some sort of authority. But for now he enjoys being sort of rebellious.

Silver —> like 18 (we need to do our best to parallel the human slash fae age gap, sorry). In the process of making a career out of being a ballet dancer!!! (Also does fencing and rides horses). Also a rich boy! Im paralleling the theory that silver is a stolen prince by giving him rich parents. Overprotected, strict parents. Idk what his parents do, but they work in the same domain as mals grandmother. (Perhaps theyre politicians…? That could add a layer of mystery around mals parents oh ooh… assassination? Im not fully decided yet but imagine.)

Pop music club (a band in this au);

Cater —> lead vocals. Not wealthy, really. Middle class. The band is his main income and he works as a ride operator in the summers. 22 years old. Dreams of fame and wealth. Art history student, met mal in a class they had in common.

Kalim —> drums. Rich boy. Mal’s childhood friend. Might be the son of politicians similarly to my idea for mal’s and silver’s families, and that’s how they know each other. The band is his hobby. He calls the shots. Spends his share of the money he earns spoiling his friends. Sweet angel. 21 years old.

Lilia —> bass (whore). Mal’s uni friend. He has spent so many years in university. He’s 28, like dude please graduate soon. Very mysterious. We dont know anything about his upbringing. Just a little freaky dude. Nomad. Malleus has no idea where that man lives. He crashes his apartment sometimes. Goes on road trips unprovoked. When he doesn’t show up to practice, the other three wonder if he really was just a collective hallucination. Then he shows up the next week like, oh hey guys i was (insert crazy adventure). The boys are used to it by now.

And of course, sebek —> 17. Silver’s childhood friend. Son of a dentist so hes relatively rich, not as much as silver/malleus/kalim, but still upper class. They’ve been rivals (according to sebek) since they were very small. They met during their first ballet class. He’s a fan of pmc+malleus’ band, and is especially a huge mal fanboy.

Mallesil have met a few times before. Think like, formal parties and such. They’re the 1%. It’s rare granny draconia and her grandson are invited, but when they do attend a party, everything gets real quiet. So mallesil have… noticed each other as children, think like, silver was 6 when he first acknowledged malleus’ (12) existence. Obviously the age gap is kind of significant at that stage so its not a problem that their guardians forbid them from interacting. (Though there was one time, when silver was 8 and malleus was 14, where silver got lost somehow, and malle was the only one he recognized in this huge mass of adults. He’s actually very straightforward, like « im lost », and mal guides him back to his parents without a word lol)

It gets a bit more problematic as silver grows up. Stolen glances, damn hes hot… silver is 17. He’d always been sort of fascinated by malle’s stature, his long, black hair, and his pale skin. Its like hes wrapped in mystery. Obviously, since silver is older now, he can finally recognize hes feeling attraction. Malleus… he cant help still seeing a child in silver since. Yk. Their very rare and brief interactions took place when silver was a literal child. But hey he can admit silver is cute… he sees him drinking like, non alcoholic cider in a corner and he comes up to him kinda nervous like… hey… u come here often. Its another brief interaction, but they find a secluded spot and malleus offers him a sip of his wine (im obsessed with the concept of mal making silver drink SORRY), silver is a bit shy and flustered… (hes a sensitive little gay boy). They have one thing in common, and its that they think these 1% parties are boring. There’s something scandalous about them interacting when their families strictly forbids them to like, even look at each other. (If were going the route that theyre politicians, granny has probably put into mal’s head that his parents were assassinated by silver’s family. He… believes her, but he cant blame silver for it, can he?)

They dont see each other again until like. A year later, when sebek drags silver to pmc+malleus’ show. Its late and silver shouldn’t even be there—he snuck out. He had no idea what he was going to see until he saw fucking MALLEUS on the stage. He’s in awe… the dexterity of his fingers, his large arms, the bright lights making him fucking shine, like wowww if he didn’t have a crush before, this is definitely what sells malleus. Now, imagine mal’s shock seeing silver in the fucking crowd—they make EYE CONTACT honey. His fingers fumble; his bandmates look back at him like ? For a single second before acting like absolutely nothing happened.

After the show, malleus calls to silver and they talk a bit in the alley leading to backstage of the venue (idk how any of this works)… like… what are you doing here i didn’t know u were into rock?… oh yeah I’ve seen sebek a few times hes kind of annoying. Need a ride home?

Next thing u know, romantic little motorcycle scene oooohhhhhh. Finally they exchange numbers… malleus has no social media presence lol the only way to contact him is to call or text him. As they are both children of important people, they cant exactly meet in public, but mal knows a bunch of secluded spots and he takes silver to quiet places on his motorcycle yasssss. They talk about anything, its secret, its scandalous, its exciting. Silver’s rebellious era.

One day silver takes mal to like, the dancing studio, & he practices in front of him, aww… mal plays the piano, idk some melody he had in his mind, & silver goes off track and lets his song guide his body, its all very sweet and cute… Harold theyre gay

Their relationship evolves real quick… it’s silvers first crush. It’s cute and exciting . His desires give him butterflies in his stomach. Malleus is filled with dread however lol, he’s super dramatic and he WILL write countless songs for silver AND SING THEM to him, while playing the guitar or the piano… he can’t breathe w/o silver ok

The sex… ofc mal is older and he’s the top so he takes care of silver. He’s gentle at first but after a while he can’t help roughing him up bc he just loves him that much. Cute aggression. Silver is a total slut for malleus… he’s a secret pervert, so he’s in touch w his desires. He knows what parts of mal’s body he wants, what parts of himself he wants pleasured… malleus got his perversions from old, female-written erotica 😭 (stolen from granny draconia). Silver had the talk but he unfortunately slept through his sex ed class in high school. He doesn’t dare watch porn in case his parents find out. So his desires are very… basic, i would say, no dirty kinks, but still, it’s this very strong, pure feeling of wanting flesh and skin to meet, intertwined w love, so it’s very sweet and intimate and erotic. Mal’s desires are similar but he plays around with like, mild dirty talk (it’s just praise and dramatic love confessions while he’s balls deep inside silver😭), mild teasing (going slow when silver is justtttt on the edge), etc… they worship each others bodies oh my goodness

Their dates are mostly @ mal’s apartment. Takeout, Netflix, they talk for hours, one thing leads to another and WHEWW they spend the night together even tho silver was supposed to be home at 10. Obviously this raises a lot of questions. On the draconia side, granny is very happy to meet silver. She thinks he’s such a respectable, cute, sweet boy. She welcomes him💜

Silvers parents on the other hand… he knows they’ve said terrible TERRIBLE things about the draconias so obviously he doesn’t want to put mal through that. There’s also the fear of being disowned… silvers parents ask him if, yk, he’s in love, bc he’s changed and he doesn’t come home on time… eventually they find out of his relationship and it doesn’t go well :( they threaten to disown him if he doesn’t block mal… obv he’s very afraid, so he does… mal is heartbroken :,( he actually drives all the way to silver’s family’s mansion and he… throws rocks at his window CTFUUUU silver starts crying on the spot when he sees mal from his window… he sneaks out in his pajamas and mal puts his jacket on silvers shoulders and they go to one of mals spots.

So silver explains he could be disowned… malleus had a feeling :( silver is young… he’s torn between his family and the security that comes with it, or his exciting lover… they have sex outside in that secret spot teehee💜 most intense session ever, the thrill of being outside, risking being seen… it’s hot

Silver still sees mal in secret at night. Yea ok they can’t contact each other, but mal still meets him every night. Until they’re found out one night lol and that’s the last straw, silver gets kicked out. Honestly, he’s lucky mal has money, so he moves into mals apartment, and yes it’s rly traumatic, it takes time to get used to, but their passion is stronger than anything (amor vincit omnia)… silver does get a bit depressed but he still attends ballet classes. He gets a little part time job as a barista and malleus visits him sometimes… he steals a kiss over the counter hehehe. Silver goes to mal’s shows & helps the band however he can… very sweet, sweet boy

I think it takes a whole year for silver and his parents to talk again. Like, ok you can’t just throw away your only son like that, be for real. They’ve been super overprotective for years, so of course they’ll worry about silver a year later, only to find out he’s doing okay, all things considered, and he’s been paying for his ballet/fencing classes on his own, and malleus helps out bc he cares about silver. It’s not enough for them to accept him, that takes a lot more time, because they truly feel like silver betrayed them.

Silver is very sad, but malleus comforts him and gives him so much love. His love language is… all of them. Words, physical touch, gifts, everything. He spoils silver lol. There’s this urge inside him that makes him want to protect silver since he’s younger. And silver doesn’t mind bc he is a Disney princess and disney princesses are spoiled + they’re the main characters even tho they don’t realize.

Asra ditches her there. "ditch" is a harsh word but basically, thats what happens. it's not out of malice, but he's definitely for the breeze and enjoys the secrecy and mystery of the masquerade. he likes the idea of dancing with people you've never met and will never see again (the masquerade reminds me of mardi gras in that way).

He asked beforehand if she was okay with it, and Esme said she was (she wasn't). she wasn't really interested in going around on her own, so she took it pretty personally, internalizing it in typical pre-route Esme fashion. but this is actually how she met Julian! she'd gone out onto a palace veranda for some air, where Julian just so happened to be hiding from Lucio. they became surprisingly fast friends, and the rest is history

Esme and self-esteem have a complicated relationship. she's not That insecure, all things considered. not about her appearance, anyway, or other traits like her voice and fashion sense. she's rather indifferent toward those things in general. compliments usually feel empty to her, purely because she connects so little with other people. but she definitely has her moments...

There are moments where her ego inflates, and thus becomes susceptible to shattering. most often this happens when someone criticizes or patronizes her. if you insult her enough, she might outright say "I am better than you" when she otherwise wouldn't even think that. and god forbid someone Close to her insults her, because she will, at best, take it to heart and get depressed.

this is all to say that, when you strip away everything else, her self esteem is pretty apparently low. she unconsciously craves validation nearly as much as Julian does (causing them both to become praise machines and constantly try to one-up each other's compliments)

Esme is fairly reserved on the outside. but internally, she wants to express all of the very deep affection she has for her friends. it just takes her some time to figure out what that looks like for her. turns out, it looks like being in physical contact with the person of her affections, as frequently as possible. resting her head on someone is common. all of this is cranked to 100 when she's with Julian. also, whenever she writes letters, she takes the opportunity to share just how much she appreciates the friend she's writing it to. (this affection doesn't extend to people she isn't close to)

toji is the complete opposite in energy and i fw it so much. reader and toji are always giving each other soo much shit (even if on this occasion it’s predominantly him). the switch from toji to bald toji is so … it’s so him but it was truly awful to witness. i have 1 (many) fear(s) and it’s my fav character getting hit with the jason todd special (ugly haircuts. usually a buzzcut.) toji is realising my worst nightmare rn.”fuck does he think he is smirking like that on your bed” he’s so dumb LMAO. look at that little hypocrite go.

for nicky, absolutely, i think that's pretty obvious with how ive talked about him in the past. for twd specifically and especially bc his other half is daryl, it's pretty easy to add another character without it seeming weird AND give them romance bc daryl doesn't really have a love interest besides carol who he Still isn't with post twd soooo

but yeah, nicky has his whole back story and whatnot from before but besides that i basically just envision him as having been there with the group at the quarry before rick even shows up and he exists within the group as like an obnoxious little brother to most bc he is like. an adult but clearly an adult who is In College and works a Part Time Job. very much a 24 year old who operates like a 24 year old. rly the only people who didn't treat him like that were the kids for obvious reasons, glenn bc they're basically the same age and daryl who has basically always just seen 18+ as ur an adult i will treat u like an adult bc that's how he was raised (/neg bc he has to unlearn that. also to be clear i dont mean this in regards to relationships or sex, i mean in regards to having to act grown, if that makes sense. for daryl as soon as he was 18 ((and rly before that)) he was expected to have a job, provide for himself and for his family and be a stereotypical man who can fend for himself and bc of that he expects everyone else who is over 18 to have their shit together, even if most are not expected to. he understands there is a maturity gap bc of the age thing tho and can understand, to a certain extent, that this thing that was forced on him is not normal or okay, but it causes friction between him and nicky at first bc nicky is functionally useless in an apocalypse setting before the farm. he is physically weak, cant shoot for shit, isnt a great cook, cant sew or clean well. he's a fucking rich kid, he knows fuckall and his years away from home didnt teach him much except how to live off buttered noodles and tap water for months on end. he's book smart to a certain extent, but he's no eugene, so again, not much to offer. daryl finds this frustrating but they eventually find middle ground yada yada im rambling about unrelated shit SORRY!!!)

with kennie it's the opposite, i don't personally love g*n v's execution of everything plotwise, i don't love a lot of the characters and the only one i do love besides my f/o, sam, is emma, who is his love interest so. while sometimes i toy with the idea of shipping all three, i don't selfship with emma so it's easier to just skew far away from canon and do what i want.

for both id say closer to an oc, but nicky definitely is more of a version of me that ive like exaggerated parts of to make Better, but i also include my flaws and stuff in his character at times, whereas kennie is one singular aspect of me that i wish i was less shy about and i turned up to the max on her. nicky is sloppy and loud and confrontational with people he doesn't like but avoids confrontation like the plague with people he does like, he lies and manipulates people if he thinks it'll help him or his friends out, he is a ball of energy and sometimes that leads him to outbursts that hurts himself or others but he is also like the fucking sun. he is me if i was more confident but also still flawed in a way that people find more appealing because it gives him character and fuck, everyone lies, he just happens to be really good at it and uses that to his advantage in situations that don't always call for it. i am also a manipulative cunt but it is less fun when i do it bc well. i am a real person and its something i need to work on. im also loud and sloppy but its less fun when i do it, moreso annoying. nicky is witty and quick with jokes, i am not. im generally not a confrontational person either, regardless of who's involved. kennie on the other hand is just like. quiet and stern and very focused and on top of things, which im not. really the only thing we share is wanting to top boys twice our size and that's like 90% of why i made her. i wanted a s/i that was physically similar to me in most ways to get sam on his knees bc he is the most obvious sub ever 🤷‍♀️ and i figured for once id make a character who wasn't so similar to me bc i do that a lot so i made her my opposite. unfortunately this did result in me liking her less, hence her not having a doc linked in my pinned like nicky and tatum do, but i do still enjoy her.

for nicky yes there is a lot of lore, ive planned out a lot of stuff before canon and a lot of stuff during canon for him so there is most definitely lore there. the tldr of it is rich parents who were never there, adopted a girl who they used to look good to their rich peers bc nicky wasn't well behaved enough in their eyes to bring to functions, he moves out as soon as he can and lives the college life off and on until 24 when he drops out for good, but the apocalypse also starts so that doesn't really matter. meets the quarry group, falls for daryl pretty early on, spends years head over heels before they finally get together during alexandria era. everything after that is unplanned bc quite frankly i do not Like those seasons nor do i think i could make the relationship between nicky and daryl worth talking about when daryl is with the saviors for such a huge portion of that era or he just gets no fucking lines/screen time. maybe one day ill plan out commonwealth stuff bc that stuff gets interesting again, but i doubt it. id be more likely to do the france stuff than anything but again it wouldn't really make sense without me making up a bunch of shit.

for kennie she doesn't really have a lot of lore. really all i have for her is like the basics and her going to supe college more for marketing than to be a supe herself. less likely to get offed that way, she figures.

hrmmm nicky would be a big fan of the dare in a modern au. he would've found him pre brat summer and been a snobbbb about being there first (but he would also be all over that brat album, he is a party boy at heart unlike daryl who, in this au, would hate nicky going out to party but still pick him up from the club like a dutiful boyfriend. nicky is a sloppy drunk but very loving and cuddly so daryl at worst finds him annoying in an endearing way when he gets plastered)

kennie would nottttt like any of the main characters in g*n v besides emma and i need this to be known. she could spend time with jordan without biting their head off but besides that she wouldnt be able to stand marie, andre or cate. luke and her wouldve gotten along just fine before the whole mess and him dying, but they were never close. emma and her probably got closer After sam getting out of the woods, but i havent rly planned out the specifics.

1. Probably going to change their species a bit, probably a pegasus or Maybe a kelpie? Maybe just a merhorse? Don't have much personality wise, just a old horse/some kind of equine that lives by themselves in an swamp/marshland. [have to choose which] (Shades and Shadows)

2. A mershark, tends to spend most of his time in the deep ocean [mermaids in this universe can switch between legs and an tail and between lungs and gills, most mermaids tend to spend almost half/half on land and in the ocean]. However when he is on land he almost always goes to the restaurant mentioned in 3s info so has got to know is friends with them both.  (Explosive Dusk)

3. One of the most frequent visitors of the local library, massive lover of marine biology [as well as microbiology], is the type of person to have alot of biology fun facts to give out,  currently studying to be an Marine Biologist and works part time at her girlfriend's parents beachside restaurant. Girlfriend is a professional skater? [I think that's the term for someone that skateboards?] (Hangry Munch)

4. Bug/Horse hybrid? [Was an lab creation]. Not sure on specifics of species as I do like the idea of bughorses but worried about making them too similar to mlp neon changelings [which I do like alot but don't want to just copy]. She is an scientist [botanist] herself and she makes a bunch of cool plants [like walking venus fly traps, glowing floating roses etc]. (Shades and Shadows)

Wanted to have nicer art of Craft and Meghan so I could make toyhouse profiles for them. [Changed Craft's hair a bit] Really like how this came out but probs just going to draw very sketchy art for a bit after this as this was tiring [or at least physically I have been 100% sh/t for the two past days so this was tiring for me right now]. and yes I actually drew proper hands for once, using my own hands as reference. to dead to say anything about the character right now sorry or anything of otherwise real substance.

More of the usual slight redesigns of characters [make the colours a bit more saturated]. They have alot of forms they like taking and generally like long worm like or just a slime looking type forms. They are an apple farmer. That's all I have to say uh.

Literally just an digital version [though I guess chibified] of the only other drawing I have of them, drawing has been very hard lately, idk maybe I think a new mouse, maybe my wrist is messed up, maybe physically im just not doing well generally. maybe its just to hot and shit. Desert robot, idk if sand corrodes metal, but I guess you would some type of clothes just so you dont get sand all stuck to you and also metal gets hot doesnt it so if you are a robot like a walking computer ish you woundt want to overheat to much or you wouldnt be able to mentally function much.

Need to have some more bird characters, particularly crows and pigeons [and maybe some plague doctor style characters]. Pigeons are really cool birds, and always have very nice colours. Originally was going to go with arm wings rather than separate wings and arms that are in the same style as there legs.

Just a little doodle [Not the happiest with how this came out] Dangles [what the above character is] can't naturally have hair [as in head hair like humans] but can have hair by using wigs or magic. The background is meant to be a specific place, though I need to uh think more of how it is meant to look and flesh it out I guess. The above character is unnamed currently. Wonder what they are doing in this strange place?

Design on the left [blue one] was adopted from https://toyhou.se/Badvibez and designed by https://toyhou.se/jaspering, changed their design a bit [and although I'm not 100% sure what their original species was I don't think they were originally a wolf]. Also changed sparklepaw's [temp name for one on the right] design a bit. Wanted to draw something cute and simple so here are sparklewolf girlfriends. Like the way this came out alot, especially how colourful this is.

Only had the design of their head figured out last time I drew him but now have the whole design figured out. Also they are now named Nyapolitan! [originally named them Neopolitan as I go by Neo but I think I like this better, plus its a pun : D and also its just a one letter difference from Neapolitan].

Title: Ghoul Dog Concept Design As soon as I finished this I had a new design idea for them in mind, oh well I will get that down and out my head soon enough. Maybe later today, got a very sudden artistic motivation boost, which is odd as before yesterday the last time I drew was the on new years. "Ghoul Dog" is a placeholder for the species name as not all of them will be dog like. Might just call them Spoke [Ghosts in afrikaans], though not sure. Though probably will be an afrikaans word as the species name as I have some other related species that also have afrikaans words as species names.

my history with one piece is long and complicated LMAO so i wont rant about it, but i started watching anime when i was 7 and one piece caught my attention when i was 10 i think, so ive had a lot of time to experience it tbh. but i was never that into it until i read the manga!! if im recommending one piece, i usually recommend the manga because its so much easier to get through imo.

honestly now that im caught up im like.. so afraid for the end of one piece. i never want it to end. i keep hearing that this is the final saga, and that one piece is ending soon, and my brain just. cannot comprehend it. i dont know if its just denial or what but i fully believe it won't end for another 5 years.. i havent experienced enough of the one piece world!!! i need more!! tell me everything about everyone in one piece PLEASE . it cant end . and those thoughts have been plaguing my mind since i restarted it LOL

one thing about me is that i. hate doing things that are distasteful or offensive in any capacity and that extends to the media i consume in that i dont like consuming media that is excessively problematic. i understand nuance so like OBVIOUSLY nothing is perfect and everything has problematic elements - but for a lot of shows there's one too many things on one side of the scale and i just dont like having that guilt on my shoulders consuming it. one piece fits that category but it's also SO BIG and SO LONG and its been going on for a WHILE and is such a phenomenon that i can let SOME stuff "slide"...and also realize "bitch one piece is so popular and near its end at this point that you, a single tumblr user, liking it or not liking it is not going to make a difference" and i'm (still) trying to make peace with that. things like oda's passive racism, The Entirety of Kamabakka Kingdom (literally don't even get me started), his blatant sexism in universe and his own opinions in the SBS...i've just come to realize i need to consume my media critically but still let myself have fun. im going through a rough period in life and this happens to be what my brain hyperfixated on and i cant change that so might as well have this outlet. ive made a lot of friends and am really enjoying the story for its good parts (found family, anti government and anti authoritarianism, importance of dreams and ambition and self love, the importance of mental health and trauma and how your past doesnt define you...etc)

i extend a lot of this thinking to sanji, too. to be fair i dont remember why he became my favorite. i think he was my fav when i watched it all those years ago but he wasnt a BIG FAV or anything. watching film red and the opla i think i went into it remembering he was my fav and he just stayed that way, but then i watched more and really started to like him for reasons like 1. im weak to flirtatious characters in general 2. im also weak to blonde men 😔 3. he's an asshole with a kind heart and i love a good juxtaposition 4. he just has some really cool badass moments tbh 5. and he's a LOT. i love characters that are a lot. he's loud and messy and overreactive and prissy and insecure and self sacrificing and also just SECRETLY ONE OF THE KINDEST MOST COMPASSIONATE MEMBERS OF THE CREW? notice how none of these have to do with his pervert shtick lmao

i do actually like his woman thing to an extent, i think its cute when its just him having heart eyes at every woman he sees and being weak to literally any woman who looks at him- cause that's still putting women on a pedestal, but its a fairly harmless character flaw for a fictional character to have. pre-timeskip sanji is a gift for all these reasons. and like, thats when everyone fell in love w his character i think. i MIGHT even forgive his whole "i wont hit a woman" thing bc its not like he doesnt think women shouldnt be hit in general to such an extent (i dont think he ever opposes to anyone else doing it on the crew, HE just doesnt like doing it PERSONALLY bc its his own moral principle he wont break just like the whole wont fight with his hands thing) even if the whole thing stems from the sexist belief women are lesser/weaker (esp after his backstory reveals some stuff)

but the pervert shtick? and the WRITING HIM AS TRANSPHOBIC/HOMOPHOBIC THING?? yea i literally hate that part of his character so much and wish it wasnt added. like i see how it relates to the character oda has decided sanji is but i still dont think it was needed. or okay. lol. i dont think any sanji fan actually likes this part of him. somedays i look at myself in the mirror and i'm like "am i fangirling over a more conventionally attractive bnha mineta rn" and i put on my clown makeup

but he's more than that. for all the reasons i listed above. and the BIGGEST thing that keeps me sane as a Sanji Liker (tm) is the fact that i 100% see half of his shitty character traits as something that are a product of Oda, the author, influencing his own work. im not gonna lie that canonly he still gave sanji those traits so yea like as a trans (? still working on that) GNC bisexual woman my favorite character atm is this weird little guy who's kinda chauvinistic and also canonly a homophobe (...at least, to an extent, bc apparently he has a really good relationship with iva? again, i could write an essay on just the queer rep as well) and thats a little embarrassing but. alas. i already fell in love with the character. and if you consider the writing is done by a dude who's got his own issues and just take the character for what he is...i do still rlly enjoy the idiot. and TRUST ME, i will headcanon him as a repressed bisexual who's probably GNC or a little trans or AT LEAST likes to do drag bc c'mon now. oda PUT ALL THAT IN CANON...AND EXPECTS US NOT TO PLAY WITH IT? you could make a compelling argument that he's 1000% straight and cis and kamabakka was a fluke that he resents but i think you could just as easily interpret it the other way. or just say fuck word of god i'm gonna enjoy this character the way i want (draws sanji in a dress for the millionth time bc i can and it makes me feel better. and once again HE WORE ONE IN CANON...AND WAS SMILING ABOUT IT, FOR A WHILE. IDK IDK CALL ME CRAZY) tldr; sanji is fucked but the worst parts are a product of oda himself and i like the character for other reasons and purposely try to consume him very critically for those reasons bc i do still really like him. like. hes my #1 fav character atm unfortunately. but he's nice in a lot of other ways 🥲

This whole post is a comparison of Isane-the-shiny, aka my older version of this blog, to its resurrection MetalGoneMeta

First things first, im sending development for this blog into motion. And although everyone who saw and i interacted with under the Isane-the-shiny/-and-muses usernames are now 2 years+ inactive and/or archived, i feel its best to put up the similarities and differences between then and now both for their sake should it be of interest as well as to give myself a blueprint for resurrecting under Metalgonemeta.

Isane-the-Shiny/-and-muses (2018?)

ItS was a Non-Selective, Independent, Pokémon/Metang OC Roleplaying blog

While I ran ItS (and later IaM) I was very VERY new to Tumblr RP and didnt know what anything meant besides a blog being Selective or not. And if you even had Semi-Selective in your bio, I posted the Same. Damn. CopyNPaste Ask of basically:

THIS GD ASK HAS PLAGUED MANY A USERS INBOX, and yknow how i said i didnt know the terminology of RPBlogs? That included those who had “Mutuals Only” as a rule of their blog.

To those whos blogs i did invade, I do apologize. I will say that i have improved since then.

Back to this list of how things were, pretty much said above but to put it shorter and more organized, Back when i ran IsT/IaM i was very Invasive and i was unaware of boundaries. And this was mostly due to it being back when i was about 14-15. (Im an Adult now dw ^^”)

Lastly and pretty much the only last changes and differences… Isane, the Metang OC of this blog, Is getting a name change and Overhaul. This is primarily for finding purposes ig? Basically, There is a character from a different fandom i follow, Bleach, with a character of the same name. (If anything i legit just stole the name cuz i liked Isane lmao). I do not have a new name decided *yet, but am actively searching so i can get it set in stone for the blog. And in terms of the actual overhaul, im going to look into updating, aka giving, her lore as well as (likely the only thing anyone i interacted with gave a shit about if at all) a redesign. Whether im going to turn her into a default blue and silver metang, or my Orrian Metang design is also still to be decided (you can find said design here )

Metalgonemeta (2023 onward)

Now all the big stuff i will admit is under the previous section by accident and ive noticed this post is getting pretty lengthy so ill try to keep this section short and to the point.

MGM is likely going to be identical to ItS in the fact it will still be an Indie NonSelective Blog. Though if i wanted to label every applicable term i found to give a better idea of what itll be: Indie, Pokemon/Metang OC, Based on Canon events that happened in both the mainline pokemon games as well as Pokemon Colosseum/GoD:XD, though will likely focus mainly on Unova B2W2* in writings.

Now i will say, factually in my stance, i should NOT go around peoples inboxes all wild andlikely childish. Even if i didnt make the other person uncomfortable, there were cases where i did make some uncomfortable… likely those who had stated mutuals only and yet here i was, a complete stranger banging on the ask box. Im probably going to just stick with those who interact with me first because of this and keep me going into inboxes at a minimal (i.e posted staters, prompts, etc.)

Kinda to keep parallel with the previous section, in terms of age rating im thinking ill have this blog be 18+. Not because of any mature material (if anything this blogs gonna be pretty sfw since its a gd METANG) but to avoid any uncomfortable complications regarding me, an 18y/o adult interacting with teens/minors of any age tumblr allows (I dont know what to even think of this cuz i just turned 18 not too long ago so from what ive heard i shouldnt have to worry about this type of stuff in the way say a 24y/o should), im just deciding in the hopes to just avoid any complications just keep the 18y/o me in the 18+ audience.

And that about wraps up all there is in terms of blog comparisons.. this was mostly focused on the blog technichalities and i will look into setting up a accessable Rules and About page when i get everything set up and can move onto a theme.

Im sorry this was so long but i felt it was best to post this now while everything i want to do is still fresh in my mind.
