man im so normal forever and ever, i think about how qslime is going to take so long to really actually accept that codeflippa isnt juanaflippa, he's so deep in denial even when the evidence is staring him dead in the face:

his base is corrupted, his body is convulsing with glitches, he knows what code monsters are and what they can do, theres a thread of plausible deniabilty that he may not rememebr the codes can impersonate eggs but he is so deep in teh denial he won't bother acking mroe questions

he definetly KNOWS somehting is off with his flippa but he isnt going to break that perfect illusion, to be blissfully unaware is better than accepting his daughter is truly gone

i think when he's asking everyone else "how do you know your kids are alive?" he's really asking them "do you have a reason to think your kids are alive, so that reason can be why my daughter is real right now", he's forcing the hypothetical that the eggs are dead to really squeeze out a reason from someone else to apply it to his actual reality

he's GRASPING at straws for any sort of hope that his illusion has any backing, that all the red flags are just red herrings instead, that there is truly out there a reason to belive Juanflippa is alive and that Juanaflippa was the one he was spending time with, no matter the strange accents and weird behaviours, thats really her

and he needs it to be Juanflippa because he's never going to let anythign happen to that kid. he's going to be strong for flippa and hide any amount of pain he's experiencing jsut to keep her safe, no matter how much everyone else is worried, no matter how much it hurts, no matter if he's so deep in denial he's throwing himself out for an imitation, he promised flippa he would protect and so he will

ryuu starts this journey as a substitute. a locum student lawyer. he says himself, when he first came to great britain he was “nobody”. all he had was a dream that wasn’t his a huge shoes to fill. in those first few days, he was an outsider, both in and out of the courtroom. in the courtroom, he’s merely the fill-in, substitute for his best friend, a truly brilliant lawyer, while he himself is a stranger to law as a profession. outside the courtroom he is a foreign man in a strange country, a fact that he is constantly reminded of by those around him.

in every way that matters, ryuunosuke naruhodo is an outsider.

those few precious moments in the courtroom however, change things. it is, perhaps, the only place where ryuu can prove himself. the only place where he can show what he is capable of and prove that he is worth something more. for these moments, ryuu becomes not just a “locum student” but a defence attorney in his own right. and he’s good at it!

he proves just how capable he is and more than that, he becomes passionate about it. he learns and grows through his time in the legal system and develops his own beliefs and goals. through law, he finally forms an identity for himself outside of being a mere substitute and an outsider. he’s a lawyer now, an advocate of truth. he’s grown magnificently into his own man.

and it’s true. ryuunosuke is now a lawyer in his own right and is serious about his pursuit of the truth. it’s not about kazuma and his dream, not anymore. maybe it hasn’t been for a long time.
