i have a semi-funny story? fact? occurrence? about happy holidays vs merry christmas. i have a few speech impediments but the most obvious ones are R lisps (cant pronounce Rs) and S lisps (cant pronounce Ss). so when the holiday season comes around, naturally, i say 'happy holidays' since there are no Rs and a single S which i can say fast enough that not many people notice. whenever i say happy holidays at work and someone gets all pissy about it, i pause everything im doing and say merry christmas and, of course, it does not sound at all how its supposed to. so i go 'wait hold on, lemme try again' and i will make them wait a full minute+ as i try to garble out a phrase. it gets even more funny (for me) when my stutter kicks in and it takes me 10 seconds to even START the word 'merry.' and its like, what are they gonna say? 'stop trying to say the thing i WANTED you to say?''nvm just say happy holidays?' they think if they comment on it, it'll make me feel bad, so theyre trapped until i decide they've learned their lesson. ive been doing this for the past 3 years at multiple jobs and i have no intention of stopping.

just got like a funny picture in my head of like. a time travel AU where jason either swaps places with his younger self or somth idk but they're like sitting quietly eating breakfast and it's all fun and good but then a magical poof ensues and bam. adult jason is sitting there and jason is very confused bcs like yeah he was in fact sitting and about to eat but that had been at the nest with tim across him and maybe dick or damian snoring away on the couch in the next room.

meanwhile, dick and bruce and alf are all.. very confused bcs 1) baby jay just vanished. not only is the kid gone but in his place is a man who sorta looks like jay. (i headcanon jay as trans, this was before he came out.. tho i do have aus where he doesnt get to come out to anyone but tim, who makes a secret grave in his honor and doesn't out him.)

and bruce is like.

b: caroline...? is that you?

jay: (blinks) hm. congratulations, it's a boy. (jazzhands).

2. this man looks like he's seen the worst things humanity can offer, not to mention the very extensive scarring *covering every visible inch of his body* and the creepy either white eyes or green eyes.

and now he's sititng with just bruce and a very young looking dick and all of them just stare at each other and all jay can say is "fuckin' hell. seriously?" and groans bcs he did not want to deal with bruce. at all.

3. this man is not as surprised to be there as he should be.

jasons really not pleased with the situation but it is what it is and he's like just call constantine or zatanna or whatever. meanwhile everyone else is too busy staring at the fact jason, tiny jay, is taller than freakin' bruce and built like an industrial fridge (that isnt from lowes). none of them know how to feel about this

just like.

"you're.. awfully calm about this."

"eh, i've seen weirder." it is unsaid but jay is thinking of discowing.

n the three of them just has no idea how to treat this adult jason. this jason who seems.. familiar but so, so very different. obviously something must've happened bcs the guy looks like he's been in a freaking zombie apocalypse. and jays just like i cant wait to be home i hate this place, and makes the most unnerving comments here and there that just makes the others more confused. like.

"you can sleep in your old..? room. we will need to look for a change of clothes, though."

"ill use a guest room, i'm not setting a foot in that shrine."

"as you can see by this footage it's possible-"

"oh, that's not who killed him. look there, that's a falcone mark. this wasn't random but premediated."

"hm why are you even bothering with this case? listen - that's the sound of a skull being crushed, not the sound of an arm breaking, duh."

and they just get more confused and concerned

jason is a giant man made of muscle and rage and everyone is left reeling cause something happened to him, but he wont say what, and everyone keeps trying to guess and he doesnt clarify anything and obs no one is thinking "he died, got revived, turned into a zombie, pumped through HRT rage edition, becamea crime lord, was killed by his dad who chose to save his murderer, thrown into arkham by his older brother, broken out by his younger brother/boyfriend, made his own team of outlaws and put himself back together, only then starting to reconcile with some of the bats"

when they finally figure out how to get him back, someone, maybe baby timmers guesses "you were turned into a zombie" as a joke and jay finger guns him and says "yep" and then back jumps into the portal to get him back to his own time

meanwhile baby jason has the time of his life

not only is he apparently tall, *but* dick likes him?? he's apparently done a lot of good for crime alley??? he has a brother? boyfriend? both?? who looks up to him and is both very familiar yet he doesnt recognise him at all, and a younger brother who also looks up to him and is very protective and reminds him of like a small cat?????

dicks like we gotta get so many pictures of you!!! and jays like super confused but also like ok???

he can obviously tell that somethings up that theyre not telling him. but honestly the fact that it's like a decade into the future and he has so many people who loves him??? he decides its a problem for future him.

everyone is just very happy bruce is away on a mission in space.

Max was quietly scrolling on his phone after the Las Vegas grand prix, enjoying some down time before the final race of the season . He was just absently looking on tiktok when he received a phone call from none other than Lando. 

“Lando, mate how are you doing after the Las Vegas grand prix?” Max asked, knowing Lando had been taken to medic after his nasty crash at the recent grand prix 

“I’m good, still a bit sore but I’ve gotten the clear to race in the upcoming race so I’m looking forward to that” Lando explained “Thats not why I’m calling though” he continued 

“Oh. What’s up then?” Max asked slightly confused 

“Y/N Y/L/N was at the Las Vegas grand prix and you met her? How was she? She got invited by Red Bull, how did that work? Is she as pretty in person as she is on social media?” Lando rambled on 

“Lando take a breath” Max chuckled “But yes she was there, invited by Red Bull. I think they just reached out to her and asked if she wanted to come. How is she? Dude I don’t know, she’s nice, kept thanking everyone for the invitation, she told us she’s a massive F1 fan which was cool” Max answered the boys questions 

“And as for her looks, I have a girlfriend however yes she looks the same in person as she does in the media” He rolled his eyes even if Lando couldn’t see him. “Why are you so curious?” He asked his friend trying to understand where all this was coming from 

“She’s been one of my biggest celebrity crushes and I was so looking forward to hopefully getting to meet her when I found out she’d be there but then I crashed” He chuckled slightly at how much he sounded like a little kid “Then I saw you met her and just wanted to see what she was like” He explained to Max 

Max let out a laugh before answering the younger driver “Well Mate, you should have McLaren invite her to the final race of the season, this way you’ll get to meet her” Max suggested “Im sure she’ll accept, I believe she said filming for her show hasn’t started yet so she’s available” He explained to Lando 

“Ohhh maybe I’ll mention it to the admin team” Lando said more as a thought than a concrete response “Anyways I have to go, Oscar and I are filming a PR video. Thanks Max, see you in a couple days” Lando said before hanging up before Max could say anything else 

Max just laughed “Bye to you to” he said out loud before going back to scrolling on his phone.

“Nothing” he said not looking up from his phone

You got up, going to sit next to him “Babe, c’mon I’m sure it is nothing, I just want to know” you explained, you were just curious 

Lando looked up from his phone meeting your eyes “Okay fine” he said as he locked his phone and turned his body to be facing you “Its really not a big deal but before you and I met, even before you got invited by Mclaren, I reached out to Max cause I had seen at the Las Vegas grand prix you met eachother” he started

“And I was kind of upset, maybe even a little jealous that I crashed out and didn’t get the chance to meet you, so I called Max and asked what you were like” He chuckled to himself, it sounded funnier saying this out loud 

“Okay but why were you upset you didn’t get to meet me?” You asked, not fully understanding what he was getting at

“You were one of my biggest celebrity crushes” He told you a small blush appearing on his face “Which is why when I didn’t get to meet you after Vegas, I may have mentioned to someone on the admin team to reach out and invite you to the last race of the season” He finished 

“Wait so you already had a crush on me before we even met? Lando thats so cute” You smiled at him “I get why Max commented that now, you really were the mastermind, I’m impressed” You smirked 

“Really? You don’t think its weird or anything?” He asked for reassurance 

“Not at all” You told him, moving closer to him on the couch “If you hadn’t have done what you did, who knows if we’d be here right now” You explained smiling at him, Lando returning the same smile 

“I cant imagine not having you in my life” He exclaimed, playing with the rings you had on your fingers “The feelings mutual” You told him leaning in and giving him a quick kiss on the lips before pulling back and cuddling into his side enjoying this moment.

You and Chris have been arguing all day. It started with Chris making an upsetting comment about your body, which you didn’t take well. This all ended with you storming off to chris’s room. He tried to apologize, but you ignored it.

“Chris im tired of being alone all day! I feel like i don’t have a boyfriend anymore!” You yell at Chris, frustration kicking in. Lately he’s been out for days making video’s with his brothers. It’s not that you minded, because that was his job, but it was getting worse within days and you were getting tired.

“That’s because im out working for the bills we pay, y/n!” He yells back. “It’s not like you do anything, i mean look at you.” Instant regret fills his face as he let out those words. “Wait ma—“ you cut him off by storming out of the room, going into chris’s room.

Tears fall down your face as your heart aches. How could he say that? Look at you? The intense feeling in your body is starting to get worse. You can hear a loud sigh from chris coming from the living room. He knows he messed up, and he knows he wont be able to make this right soon. You sit down on his bed, pulling your knees to your chest, crying into the fabric of your pants. There’s a moment of silence before you hear a gentle knock on your door. You don’t say anything, knowing it’s Chris.

“Ma.. im sorry, m’kay? Please come out.” He says, his voice full with worry. A part of you just knows you need to do this, needing to let him know he messed up bad. But the other part just wanted to open the door and cry. The door was locked anyway, so he had no way of coming in. Both of you knew that. Again, there’s another moment of silence.

“I didn’t mean it, i was just so frustrated.”

“Please just talk to me.”

You can hear the worry and regret in his voice and it almost made you want to open the door and just hug him. But you didn’t, you kept quiet.

It’s been hours since you and Chris last spoke to each other and it was getting night time. You had changed into a comfortable pyjama with little stars on it. Your phone was in your hand. You wanted to text Chris something, but you didn’t know what. Eventually you decided a simple “goodnight” would be fine. So you send it to him. Not even a minute later he texted you back.

You close your phone with a deep sign, before leaving the room to go to the living room. You start feeling bad for the fact you didn’t talk to Chris for 4 hours, but it wasn’t your fault, was it? As you enter the room, Chris’ eyes shoot up. A gentle smile forms on his face. He stands up.

“God im so sorry..” he says, pulling you in for a hug. You immediately give in, needing this more than anything else. Tears fall down your face again. Chris’s hands rub your back in slow circles.

“I was acting like a fool and im sorry for that. I-i got frustrated because i-i… i have never felt like this about someone… and arguing with you just hurts, y’know?..” His voice cracks. You have been chosen as the new singer in the Tokio Hotel band. Everyone was very happy with a newcomer, they were curious about how you sang and couldn't wait to hear from you.

However, the day you arrived you first met Bill who immediately recognized you from the physical description you had given him.

“You're yn, right?” Bill said with a smile on his face.

“Yes, it's me” you replied timidly, it was a very famous band and so you were afraid of not being up to it. Bill took you into the room where there were other members of the band.

They all greeted you and you greeted them. To be honest, your favorite was Tom right away, you loved how he played the guitar in concerts, in fact you blushed a lot when he told you "Welcome sweetheart" smiling.

“Thanks..” you said referring to everyone, but you were actually just looking at him.

However, you noticed how he checked you out, especially the skirt, you put it on purpose for him, and you would say it worked.

The first time they heard you sing they were enchanted by your voice, it was angelic, clear and ringing at the right point.

Tom stood looking at you for like 5 full minutes, watching you beat high notes, your eyebrows curling slightly, your eyes closed and the microphone in your hand. You looked like a real angel.

When you finished your performance they applauded you, you had become all red with embarrassment, you didn't think you would receive so many compliments.

“Aspectacular voice, yn,” Bill said,

“Fantastic!” They added Gustav and Georg,

“I didn't think angels sang so good,” Tom told you, approaching you slightly, and winking at you, that damn wink.

“Thank you for everyone,” you replied with a smile.

Months passed and by now they were used to your mind-blowing voice, and yet another thing had also changed ..

You had arrived at the band that Tom was your favorite, but you didn't think you'd develop any feelings for him.

Even once he let you play his guitar while he was behind holding you by the hips.

It was too much for you all this, it was too much for you him, he teased you some times knowing when you would want his attention, when you put on your low-cut shirts and adjusted your bra you noticed how he threw a look, or when he took you by waist to make you move by the side while he said “excuse me sweet girl”.

He knew it, he knew everything. He knew you liked him, that you would want more, that you didn't want him to stop with these games.

But you didn't understand why he didn't come forward, he just teased you.

So one day you decided to have courage and take the step. It consisted of dressing you in a mini skirt that accentuated the end of your thighs, a crop top that inflated your boobs, you put on a seductive scent and you were ready to go out.

You entered the room leaving a trail of perfume not ignored by the others, in fact Bill said “good scent yn” so Tom commented “no longer shy, hm?” He told you looking at you from above as he was sitting.

You had stopped in front of him standing and crossed your arms under your breasts, which accentuated them even more. “Better that way, isn't it?” You teased him.

Tom checked you out, you were so hot, then looked down even more on the skirt, your legs were so perfect, he was about to go crazy.

“This skirt seems dangerous to me,” he said, looking into your eyes.

“And why?” You say confused,

“Your legs are illegal, you look like a fucking model,” he said looking at you intently.

You stood there looking at him, but you didn't want to be shy, you should have teased him, so you decided to sit next to him.

“Don't worry because it's just you who will touch them,” you said that and left him with a lot of doubts.

What did you mean by 'only you'? And what did 'touch them' mean?

He would have liked to ask but you were late for the performance and you went out right away.

During the concert you winked at him and he looked at you surprised, as if to say ' where is the shy yn I knew?' But he immediately returned the smile you gave him.

Suddenly he put one of his hands in your leg dangerously close to the hem of your skirt, you felt your red cheeks, you could feel his breath in your neck.

You had the courage to whisper to him “this is not enough for me, Tom” almost as a plea, he as a decisive answer said “oh yeah?” You were completely melted.

The concert was over, you still had Tom's words in your head, you were in love lost you couldn't think of anything else.

“Mind if i sleep here darling?” A sudden voice interrupted the silence of the room, you turned around and it was him.. yes, him.

“Uh.. Yeah i dont mind" you said embarrassed as you were thinking about him at the time.

You slept together and he let you sleep on his chest.

i still dont know whether its a kintype or a copinglink, but ive realized i dont really need to figure it out now. its here, it makes me happy, and thats all that matters. tbh im still kinda upset that i have another 'type, but after thinking about it for a bit it makes sense. three has always been my lucky number, after all.

so! lets get into specifics. i havent drawn my form just yet (mainly because i cant draw unguligrades without heavy referencing to save my life lmao), but after a lot of thinking ive found that i can take two primary shapes: full unicorn, and satyr/faun. both are part of the same kintype: i dont know if its because im a shapeshifter creature, or because its my unicorn brain trying to adapt itself to a human shape.

[oh, and by the way, this 'type is completely psychological, the same as all my 'types. nothing new here]

i dont know much about my appearance. im a medieval unicorn, of course, with a deers body, long lions tail and goats cloven hooves. my legs are long and thin, and my head is shaped like a horse. i think i have a mane, but im not sure. i have a horn on my forehead, though its curved and not straight like in most depictions of unicorns. my eyes are clear (dont know the color yet), i have a beard in my unicorn form (not sure about the faun form though) and my ears are bigger than a horse's (i think they look a bit like deer ears). one particular detail i know for some reason is that i have a black spot on my upper lip. i might have more black details on my body (the tips of my ears maybe?), i dont know.

theres a lot i don't know about this kintype, and that frustrates me a bit ngl. i dont know anything about my diet, my habits, my habitat or my abilities. i dont know if i have powers, or why i can change my form. i have almost no instincts to speak of, and havent had any mental shifts yet. all i get are envisage shifts (sometimes even phantoms), little flashes of what i look like and feelings i cant put into words yet.

i know things will start to make sense in due time, but its hard to be patient. ill figure it out eventually, i know. i just have to wait.

Heeseung had been preparing the proposal for months. He wanted everything to be perfect and prepared everything, from the ring to the location. He felt a rush of nervousness as he prepared the remaining things. He is remarrying the woman he loved for many years, and this time they can be together without any hindrance. The boys were in charge of making sure that their mom arrived at the venue without raising any suspicion. They asked their mom to drop them off at a place where they would meet their friends, which was a lie to get her to the location. The boys alerted their dad in regards to their upcoming arrival. Heeseung was holding a bouquet of flowers as she walked towards him. "What is this all for?" she asked while he gave her the flowers. "My way of showing you the love that you deserve after all these years," he said as he started to kneel in front of her. "I know our time together in the beginning was rough. It has been nothing but pain and sadness after those events, but I know that was the only way at that time for the boys. But this time around, I wanted to be with you for a lifetime, and I will do everything to keep you and the boys by my side. Yn, will you marry me?" while pulling a ring box in his pocket. She quickly hugged him and uttered multiple "yes" as she grabbed his face to kiss him. He was startled for a moment, but he returned the kiss. She couldn't ask for more, and she wishes to stay like this for a long time.

After almost a year of preparation, the wedding day is finally approaching. It was a day before the wedding, and everyone was preparing for the big day. Everyone is excited, but much more so for the bride and groom. She had invited her father and brother to the wedding, while her father was hesitant to join due to their past. She wanted him to be the one to walk her down the aisle, and he was happy to do so. Sunghoon volunteered to be the ring bearer, despite her thinking he was joking at first.

The big day had come, and everyone was busy preparing for it. As she finished up her touch-ups, she walked to the door where her dad and brother were waiting. Her father saw her in the dress and couldn't help but tear up while complimenting her. Sunghoon hugged her as he wished for her to finally have the life she deserved after all these years. ~Chapter eight~ mias pov

Noah wheeled me back you the recovery room as Jolly and Nick were walking down the hall. Bags thrown over their shoulders, flowers in all four hands. Flowers of pink and purple perfume the halls.

“Shes here? How are you Mia?” Jolly says handing me two dozen pink flowers. I bring them to my nose inhaling the sweet scent.

“I’m okay, sore and tired but okay. Shes in the NICU, 4 pounds even. she looks like a baby just small. I’m sure if you guys want to go meet her Noah can take you.” I explain not really feeling up to the million questions that I know they have loaded. “Do you guys want to know her name?”

“Did Noah cry? Thats all I wanna know.” Nick says softly “also we would love to know her name but we should probably wait for the rest of the guys and Jess. They’re downstairs in the gift shop.”

“Okay. She won’t be coming home for a while, doctor said it’ll probably be about 2- 2 1/2 weeks before she’s able to come home.” Noah says, rubbing my shoulder gently. After everyone came up to the room we were finally able to tell them her name. Jess squeals and starts talking about how she’s going to get her little things with her name all over it. Deciding I need to change into clean clothes Noah helps me stand and walk to the bathroom.

“You don’t have to help, I can manage.” I say as he kneels down helping my pull up the bad omens sweatpants, rolling the legs twice so i don’t strip on them.

“I thought we had this talk already. You just had major abdominal surgery, angel. Let me help you, it’s the least I can do” standing to his full height noah cups my cheeks pressing a quick kiss to my lips. "i love you. thank you for giving me our little girl. I just want you to know, that im grateful for everything, your friendship, our daughter, everything. It feels like a weight on my chest but then i look at my girls and it’s lifted, you two are my whole world.”

“Noah- I” my words cut off

“Shh- I know you probably don’t feel the same, and it’s okay. I’m not great with feelings, but I just want you to know. I’m here for you through everything. I care about you so much” grabbing his face I smash my lips to his own, promptly shutting him up.

“I love you too. You’re my best friend but I’m scared to do this parent thing and be jumping into a relationship.” His hands cup my face

“I know, I’ll make you a deal. When we leave here, we’ll go get a nice dinner and have a small date. And we can have dates after coming to the hospital to see Ophelia till she gets out.” A small smile plays on my lips.

Jess and I were the first to head down to the NICU. Tears swell in her eyes. “Hi sweetheart, a little early aren’t we? It’s okay auntie Jess couldn’t wait to meet you either. Your uncles are here they’re going to come see you soon. I just had to be first” Jess says softly fingers caressing the incubator. A soft smile plays along her lips

“Can I tell you something?” I say breaking the silence. Jess looks at me knowing what I’m going to say

“You’re in love with Noah? Hes in love with you too. Babes I’ve known since your car accident. He watched you like a hawk, and to think you didn’t want me meddling in your love life. When I’m the one who found you the love of your life!”

“Thank you for that by the way. I wouldn’t have her if you didn’t. Now I cant imagine my life without them in it. You guys are my family, my parents aren’t here anymore and my grandma past last year so Noah and the guys coming into my life was just so special to me, I got my own little family.” Tears are now streaming down my face. Ophelia’s tiny hands move wiggling around in her bed.

“Babes, we all love you, if Noah makes you happy, go for it. You know he’s not going to let you go anywhere anytime soon. You’ve found your peace. Let yourself be happy. Noah’s a good guy I promise he may seem like an ass on the outside but he’s been burned before, he just has those walls up, granted you’ve seem to be able to walk through them. In all seriousness, go for it. He loves you, I heard him tell you. When you were changing.” Jess sighs pulling me in by the shoulders and rubbing my back.

“I love him Jess. I really do” I whisper into her hair.

You posted the last story on your private instagram and then locked your phone. Sliding it into your back pocket, you looked around at your apartment where all your friends were scattered about. 

You didn’t always love your birthday but ever since becoming friends with the f1 drivers and some of their girlfriends, you’ve adapted a new attitude towards the day as they make being alive more enjoyable and continue to show you how deeply they all care for you. 

You turned to your left when you felt someone come stand beside you with their hand resting on the wall next to you, it was Lando “Hey birthday girl, what are you doing over here on the side” he asked looking at you

“Just taking it all in” you smiled at him answering his question. You were close with Lando, you had been right from the minute the two of you met. You both had similar personalities and when the two of you were together it really showed. 

“Well let me know when you’re done doing that and we’ll go do another round of shots” he smirked knowing you were a shot type of girl and would almost always shoot back whatever liquid was in a shot glass given to you 

“You know me so well” you told him in response before taking his hand and leading him to the table where the alcohol was.

Max read your reply to his question and then set out to find you. You had a bad habit of walking off when you had been drinking and most of the time it was with someone else but sometimes it was by yourself which was why Max was going to look for you now, not wanting anything to happen. 

He found you sure enough by the red bull sign near the women’s washroom “Maxieee” you called out once you spotted him “you found me” you smiled at the man 

“I sure did, thanks for not moving” he chuckled “Did you already use the washroom or are you waiting?” he asked, figuring that was the reason you were over here “I already went” you told him 

“Alright, let's get back to the others then, I believe there’s a round of shots waiting for you” he told you, you smiled wider, you loved your shots. 

As you started walking towards him, you slightly stumbled a bit as the floor was a bit uneven but luckily Max was there to make sure you didn’t fall and helped steady yourself. You didn’t even process that his hands were on you holding you in place to regain your balance. 

You couldn’t tell if it was the alcohol in your system or the feeling of his hands on you but you could feel yourself getting hot. “You good?” Max asked when you didn’t say anything at first 

“Oh yeah, thanks, that would’ve been embarrassing if I had fallen” you joked, brushing off the feeling you experienced a few moments prior. Max still had his hands on you but once he realized, he retracted them and dropped them to his sides 

“Don’t worry, there wont be any falling on my watch” he joked back, you just let out a small laugh and then the two of you made your way back to the others.

You laughed as you snapped the photo of your sister and Daniel and posted it on your story. You had suspicions that they were seeing each other but neither had confirmed anything until tonight when you caught them making out. 

“Hey lovebirds, we’re doing karaoke if you want to join” you said calling them taking them away from each other's lips “Go away” your sister said turning to you, glaring. You laughed and then walked back to the rest of your friends. 

Tonight felt like it was never ending, you had done so many shots and had a couple cocktails. You were feeling great even if yes you were drunk and would probably wake up with a massive hangover, you were making memories with the people you cared most about.

It was now close to 3am and you definitely needed to call it a night. Everyone was beyond drunk, the most sober was probably Oscar and George which made you feel at ease knowing if someone needed to be sober one of them could step up. 

You were on the dance floor with Lando, the alcohol controlling your every move because sober you would’ve never danced that close to Lando or let him put his hands on your waist near your butt while your arms pulled him closer by placing them on his shoulders. 

Sure Lando was an attractive man and you could understand the appeal but he was one of your best friends, you could never cross that line, could you? You had all these thoughts running through your brain but for some reason you kept dancing like this, until your best friend called your names and when you turned to her she had her phone out taking a quick picture of you two, similar to what you had done earlier with your sister and Daniel. 

“We should probably get out of here” Lando suggested “Everyone’s pretty drunk, yourself included” he added as his hands remained on your waist. He was also just as drunk as you were and if he was being honest, he didn’t mind the closeness between the two of you. 

“Yeah youre probably right” you agreed with him. Neither of you made any movement though just stared into each others eyes, caught up in the moment of how close your bodies were, it was as if neither of you knew whether to make a move or step away from one another. 

“You’re really pretty” he told you. You weren’t sure how to respond, he was your best friend, this was the alcohol talking or was there something here that you had missed before now. 

To Lando, he wasn’t sure if it was the alcohol talking but all he could think about in this moment was kissing you. With how close you were, it would be so easy to just lean in and join your lips but he wasn’t sure if that was something you wanted. 

Neither of you were so caught up in your own thoughts about the other, you almost missed the phone vibrating in your pocket, it was Lily. 

You quickly picked up, “Hey, everyone’s outside, I think some of us are going to find food and some are ordering ubers to go home. If you and Lando want to join or stay here, its up to you two” she told you “We’ll be right out” you told her before quickly hanging up 

“Everyone’s either going home or getting food, we should go meet them” you passed the message onto Lando before taking a step back causing him to retract his hands. Neither of you said anything after that and he just simply nodded. From there you both made your way towards the exit to your friends.

After the six of you had finished eating, it was time for you to go your separate ways. You were ordering an uber and out of everyone you were still the most drunk, even with the food in your system so someone had to take an uber with you to be sure you got home safely 

“I live in that area, I’ll go with her” Max offered as everyone stood on the corner of the street outside the restaurant they were just in. You were sitting on the curb, just looking at your phone tracking the process of your uber. 

“Okay” Alex said “Text one of us when you’re both home safely” Lily added then the two of them started making their way towards their hotel. They had sobered up and wanted to walk home seeing as the hotel wasn’t far. That just left you, Max, Charles and Pierre. 

“Its 4 minutes away” you told Max looking up to him before looking back to your phone. “Do you want us to wait?” Charles asked as him and Pierre were going in the same direction and their uber had just arrived “No its fine, just text when youre home” Max said before the two drivers got in the uber leaving just you and Max. 

“Are you cold?” Max asked when he noticed you were slightly shivering “No I’m fine, the uber will be here soon” you told him as you stood up. Max just chuckled and noticed the way you indistinctly wrapped your arms around yourself. He shook his jacket off and laid it on your shoulders. 

“Thanks” you gave him a small smile, as you put the jacket on properly and instantly felt warmer. Within a few seconds your uber was here and Max was opening the door for you. “Oh why thank you” you joked to him earning a small nod from Max acting as a doorman and then closing the door before walking around the car to get in on the other side. 

It wasn’t a long drive from where you had been to your place but in your drunken state, it felt longer. You hadn’t even noticed your eyes starting to droop or the way your head rested on Max’s shoulder, being engulfed by the warmth of his jacket. 

By the time the uber pulled up to your place, you seemed to be sleeping. Max didn’t want to disturb you so he carefully got you out of the vehicle, holding you in his arms. He did a double take of the backseat making sure nothing was left behind before thanking the driver and making his way up to your front door. You slightly stirred slightly awake.

“Are you able to get your keys out?’ Max asked still carrying you but he could see you were sort of conscious “Yeah” you mumbled as you reached into your purse and pulled out your keys, turning slightly in Max’s arms to open your door. 

Once you were inside, you rested your head back on his shoulder and nuzzled into his warmth. He gently shut the door with his foot before making his way to your bedroom to put you down. 

He walked in, laying you peacefully on your bed “Will you stay?’ you asked ever so softly, Max almost didn’t hear your request. He couldn’t bare to say no so he gave you soft “sure” before going back into your living area and locking the front door. 

From there he made his way to your kitchen, noticing the mess from the earlier party, he made a mental note to clean up a bit for you. Right now he was focused on getting you some water and making sure you were okay. He filled up a glass he found along with some pills to help with the headache he was sure you’d have in the morning. 

When he walked back into your room, you had wrapped his jacket further around yourself and it was obvious you were knocked out. He admired how peaceful you looked before placing the water and pills on your side table and then carefully removed his jacket from you, replacing it with the fuzzy blanket that stayed at the foot of your bed. He also made sure to remove your shoes and plug your phone in before making his way back to the kitchen to clean up so that was one less thing you had to worry about tomorrow.

When you awoke in the morning, you felt your head pounding and your throat was dry. Lucky for you, Max had put just exactly what you needed on your side table, however you didn’t remember asking Max to stay so when you walked out to your living room, you were shocked to see the Red Bull driver, sleeping on the couch, one of your couch pillows under his head and a blanket draped over him.

You smiled to yourself at the sight of him sleeping so peacefully and quietly made your way to your kitchen, wanting to refill your water. You felt your heart stop when you noticed there was a garbage bag full of the dirty plates, cans, decorations, shot glasses, along with all the dirtied dishes, washed and drying in your drying rack. 

There was only one person who could’ve done all of this and you could almost cry at the thought that Max took the time to do that even if he had been drunk himself and probably wanted to sleep. You refilled your water and walked back into your room, making a mental note to thank Max once he was awake.

You got back into bed and reached for your phone. You immediately went onto your socials and went through both your public and private instagrams seeing everything you had posted and the replies from everyone. You laughed, this was definitely a birthday you would never forget.

just watched a clip of the final fifteen (GOs2) again by passing and ended up balling my eyes out. a literal year has passed and it still hits me as if i were seeing it for the first time - which is, in a way, incredible that it still evokes that level of reaction, but leaves me pondering once again with the concept of grief and how it continuously takes it’s hold on you.

no matter how many times i look at the scene - with different perspectives, interpretations, pov’s - it does not take away from the devastation of the situation, the emotions that we, the audience, experience alongside the characters, and the utter power and importance of storytelling (how our voices hold power, influence, and can make an impact)

It doesn’t take away the fact that we can’t change the course of the events, even if we wanted to (and believe me, all we want is for our favorite Angel and Demon to get their well-deserved happy ending); and we have to make peace with the fact that waiting is a part of the journey - both in ours (as the audience) and in the lens of their relationship. It could be argued that the concept of “Waiting” has been a 6000+ year foundational element to Crowley and Aziraphale’s relationship, even if we aren’t looking too deep into that aspect. Waiting for change, waiting for the day where they could truly be together, to choose one another without complications, without fear - you name it all.

And that in itself is also full of grief, isn’t it? The drive and impact of fear. That unknown territory, everything that can be missed and lost due to waiting? Everything that you risk losing, everything you do lose? The way our actions can be governed so by its influence, and we may not even be aware of it either.

and, as per usual, i cant help but think about how special Crowley and Aziraphale’s dynamic is, because it’s not just made up from one concrete thing/applicable fandom trope. it’s all so, well, ineffable (<3), and it really reminds me of how special it is to be impacted by characters and storylines like this.

There is so much love put into stories like this, and the fact that we can feel the collective grief because we are deeply impacted by it all - is pretty special

the point of all this rambling? not quite sure myself, but

- grief is so intricate

- i want crowley and aziraphales happy ending so bad right now, but part of that waiting is also making peace with the fact that there is grief written in between the lines, and it’s something that just comes with the process
