Things I make for myself when insomnia kicks in

Just a chart about what I wanna change up and keep consistent in my art - I mainly wanna draw Raph with a tail because he deserves one, it fits too well. Donnie gets a long tail too because I didn’t realize how dino-like he looks until I gave him one, and now it’s a must for me haha.

so. successfully defended my master's. I have some a bunch of revisions to do for my written thesis before I officially have a master's, but I'm very nearly done with it.

I'll be doing research over the summer, but it's not nearly as fast-paced as normal semesters are, and this was a semester in turbo mode. And boy I certainly felt it. I should have a week or so before this semester is officially over, then I'll be able to finish up my thesis and have more time/energy for writing.

I know I've said that updates would be slower than normal this academic year (this semester, especially) and y'all have been very patient with me, so thanks so much. I've still got another draft/revisions to go, but I'm hoping I'll be able to get back to normal Hannah writing mode because I miss averaging 500-1000 words a day lmao

We have a long and storied history of sacrificing children and the poor to our coal mines and steel mills and railroads. The western world is built on the sacrificing of enslaved lives. We sacrifice drinking water for millions, particularly affecting Mexico at the time of writing this, so that water can be used to cool AI, NFT, and other technology/server farms that demonstrate progress in our eyes. Just like in-universe, America continues to sacrifice incarcerated people to our gods of industry and convenience food.

Because the thing is that they're not wrong! Easy, comfortable, or within reach it might not be, but changing who we sacrifice to what ONLY changes who we sacrifice to what. The point is that there is not acceptable amount of human sacrifice. Kill your gods of convenience and luxury. Kill the god of entertainment on demand. Kill the god of wasteful consumption and fast fashion.

If there is no chocolate or coffee without slave labor, then there is no chocolate or coffee. If there are no Tyson chicken nuggets without incarcerates workers (legalized slave labor) then there are no nuggets. If there is no Shein flower dress without massively underpaid and mistreated workers then there is no dress. No Amazon packages without abused employees. No bottles water without stolen water. No Sea World without animal abuse.

i revisted the wrathion/sabellian scene again and i just get sooo soft about the brothers opening up to each other but especially wrathion in this moment. the genuine care that went into wrathion's character development here is so noticeable imo. it's such a personal moment that means so much to me in my own ways and just-- I LOVE HIM SO MUCHHH!!!!

i feel rly sad and conflicted abt one of my best friends on earth but idk who to ask for advice bc i usually would have consulted her in this situation lmao

#shes cool and i dont want to lose her and i know Logically i love her but atm i feel so strange towards her #and idk what to do abt it bc i know in the past ive like...over-communicated a lot and over the last few yrs ive been trying to not do that #bc thats an anxious impulse i think .so like . self control #AND IMPORTANTLY . i may actually be the problem here ?? ok again i love her i dont want to lose her etc but basically ive noticed a pattern #which is that whenever she gets a bf/a man (even fwb) in her life she basically stops talking to me and the limited interactions we do have #become abt him. and while i support her it is acc too much. like we barely talked while she was w her ex bf until he became abusive and #then we talked a lottt like all our convos understandably were abt him . and then when they broke up we kept hanging out so i didnt rly see #the pattern there but still she seemed to centre men a lot in her life like sbe was excited to not date and find herself and then #immediately afterwards started seeing this other guy with whom shes basically in a relationship now #hes nice and all but like .
