gotdamn this is a story for the ao3 author hall of fame. im still homeless and i promptly realized a couple of days afterwards that uh yeah no can do the whole living independently thing so im looking for a group home. in the meantime i managed to get into a decent shelter, get acchs insurance, and am working on getting a case manager.

holy fuck it's been quite the. week or so? the days have kinda been blurring together so idk. hopefully i'll get into a group home soon. i've got some family that i'm gonna try and contact in case they'd be more understanding than my parents about the whole 'being disabled' thing.

so basically bc im an exmo i've been incredibly isolated as i've tried and failed to build an entire new support system from the ground up. i had one singular friend who i could reliably talk to (i think i have two now and a few case workers so that's an improvement) and even then it was only over the phone. aside from that, i do have y'all online here, but again, i need a device in order to be able to chat with y'all.

and because my body is an absolute shitshow - in addition to my executive functioning issues - i wasn't able to get much done around the house. now, for some reason, my parents looked at me and decided that this shit is all a lack of responsibility. don't get me wrong, i couldn't exactly be responsible for much. but the key word there is couldn't, not wouldn't.

and for some reason, they look at the situation and decide, time and time again, that the best solution is punishment - by taking away my phone and internet access. not necessarily out of the ordinary for most parents, but given the circumstances, that's absolute dogshit for my mental health.

so, when i literally developed a new fuckin health issue that left me bedbound for a couple of days, my mom told me that we were going to 'have a conversation'. aka my shit was gonna get taken. again.

and that would've been it for me. isolated, in pain, sick, tired, without anybody to lean on. so i said fuck that shit, packed my stuff, and walked out.

i started off at a shelter that used to be a prison, and oh my fucking god i don't think i've ever been more pro-prison-abolition or whatever the fuck it is. like goddamn that shit's inhumane. i ended up having to take a trip to the ER because they didn't stock enough water, resulting in me becoming so dehydrated that my ribs cramped to the point of keeping me from breathing.

not long after that i spiralled a bit so i went to a crisis center where i got people that started working on my case. we determined that i'd be best off in a group home and they transferred me to a transitional facility while they got that figured out.

I get there and discover that my hip, which i thought had just popped weird, felt like it had dislocated. Thankfully, i think i just sprained it, but I was in a lot of pain that first night. Night shift came around to take vitals, I told them what was going on, and they proceeded to not only wave me off, but also one of them looked at me - as i was writhing in pain, crying, trying to keep quiet, and digging my nails into my skin to distract myself - with the look you reserve for dog shit you've just stepped in. So, you know, that was fun. Also nobody there got their medications that night. The shitshow that was nightshift there is gonna be important later.

i had tried to make friends with some of the people there that evening, and, being myself, I spoke very openly and honestly about my queerness and sexual history (or lack thereof), like a dumbass, and obliviously believed them when they said that I was one of the guys.

I later overheard them making plans to correctively rape me. Thankfully, I was on my way out to the hospital for my hip, so I notified day shift before I got into the ambulance.

I spent that night at the hospital, sleeping in a lobby chair (the hospital staff were very sympathetic to my situation, thankfully), and then called the crisis center that was attached to the transitional facility. managed to get taken into the crisis center, where i stayed for a couple of days. one of the guys who'd been making the plans ended up transferring into the same crisis unit, so that was a fuckin' blast to deal with. thankfully, the people at the crisis unit cared and did their jobs well, so i had eyes on me at all times and stayed safe.

eventually, i got sent back to the shelter i started at, then transferred back to the original crisis unit where people had been working on my case. i got some rest, got sick from eating gluten because i was so sleep deprived that i didn't care, then they got me into a much nicer shelter. i have a meeting with someone in about an hour and a half to try and get into a youth shelter, and I'm also going to attempt to contact some family members that might be more understanding and willing to help me while I pursue a group home.

I am very fucking tired, and despite everything that I've been through, I still wouldn't go back to my parents to save my life. Definitely gonna be a lot to unpack with my therapist.

- He gets a lot of grimm for posing for demon male pregnancy magazines, since as I stated previously Males were often pregnant so people were willing to pay big bucks for pregnant males, ESPECIALLY if one of those males was a demon lord

OHHHHHSHSOOGOGOGO OH BOY I HAVE QUITE THE STORY HERE SO SIT ON YOUR SEATS, WE'RE GONNA GO ON A RIDE

So first off, this isn't on his own oc post, mainly because when i finished It, It wasn't a thing. This isn't recent either, ad I've hinted he did something arguably worse than trying to kill Rui and Lyva, even if that's another long story so, we'll focus on this. Keep in mind that Shou Is currently over 200 y/o, so what I'm going to say happened quite a long time ago.

This happened when his mother was still alive, an pretty much the head of the palace. Shou had already dealt with much preassure, since he was younger. Not only he had to hide the fact he was trans, but also had to deal with the preassure of becoming the next reignant. Even so, he's got some mixed feelings.

He doesn't blame her for having raised a snake demon on her own, but on an outsider's view, she did influence a lot on how he percieved himself permenantly, making him feel as if he'll never be more than a demon and things such as that.

At that time, he didn't have much authority nor power actually, the only thing he had control on was hiding his powers. But, that was destined to only crumble sooner or later.

Another thing I've never talked about, was his hunger.

Currently speaking, it's not a problem. Sure, It may have resurfaced like twice or three times, but it's merely an intruisive thought. But back then, hohooho It was so much worse. There where times where that brought him physically sick, even vomiting because of that, and others where a servitor or two seemed to good to be left alive.

There were some that inevitably tried to help him, growing closer to him, even if Shou tried to push them away. If that would've gotten thus far, he would've never forgiven himself. But if everything went right, we wouldn't be here.

Now, I have two versions here.

One of them in which a specifical servitor grows very close to him, being the one helping him with many of his attacks. It,, doesn't end well unfortunatly, as Shou loses control and ends up devouring them alive. Mind you, his current demon form Is a LOT toned down from what It was originally,, so I'm leaving y'all to think about how different It was. "Fortunately" for Shou, he gets to clean up the mess, but to this day endures that guilt and disgust of not being strong enough to have let them live. Which would give another reason for Shou to have now mastered his demon form.

The other one Is similar, but doesn't involve a closed one, rather than just a random servitor. Difference Is, he had actually enjoyed that. And It brings an even more conflict, whether to be punished for that horrible crime, or to continue that pleasure in secret. He does continue several times, but realises that if he gets caught, It'll be the end of him. He'll end up regretting what he had done as time passes, keeping that away from anyone else.

I've never really set up on which Is the official thing, so take the one you'd like the most. I kind of jump on n off on which i like more.

Even then, in both versions he does end up fighting those struggles, at least in majority. It's still very much there, but not as strong. He occasionally gets corpses to eat if his desire gets a little too high, even before he met the whole gang.

Currently noone knows about him having eaten people, at MAXIMUM he hinted something to Qiran, but nothing more. Qiran's dence anyways so they probably didn't pick It up either.

And as im now finishing this i realized his and Qiran's relationship may be quite slower because of this n I'm egdkjjhguiuguuek, especially if i go w the first version

some of y'all asked for more quirrell!ghost , so here it is !

most of the flowers that grow in the room are mostly anemones , belledonnas , bittersweet , black eyed susans , columbines , daisies , iris , marigold , pansy , willow , and the newest addition to the room , zinnia .

the zinnias start growing after sybill's appearence , and increases whenever one of the professors or students come to visit and practice magic and quirinus sees they don't have sybill with them . ( or a boy with golden hair , dressed fine from head to toe and the biggest and ' attractive ' smile someone could have )

he likes to watch the students practice in his room , as long as they don't damage what he cannot regrow . ( and it's not like he can stop the tears , his visitors a constant reminder yet like cold water in a hot summer day ) . it reminds him of a faint memory from when he used to be a muggle studies professor .

though he doesn't talk much , he will nod and tilt his head from time to time to show that he is listening to the students , and that he is not ignoring them . ( he will always listen , even if he is floating way up from the ground , curled up into a ball and sobbing his heart out . )

he is the most calm with snape , often the potions professor would drag in a chair , a book under his arm , and he would spend time reading . he insists it's the quiet he seeks , and he is not doing this for the ghost . quirinus is dead , after all . he died a traitor , why should he care if he came back as a pathetic ghost ? is his answer when someone asks . ( he never once speaks those same words when he enters the room )

sybill comes to visit ( both arms trapped in a grip by minerva on one side , Pomona sprout on the other ) weeks after , eyes red and puffy . this time , when quirinus sets his blank eyes on her , no tears come . instead , he reaches for one of the bushes , and plucks a single zinnia and hands it to her . no one aside from pomona reacts , she brings a hand to her eye to wipe away a tear .

sybill keeps the flower in a glass cage , a thick book laid next to it on the table . it's quirrell's book of course .

it took her a long time to dig through the boxes that had collected dust very long ago , having to take small breaks to cry away from them ( these were his , he had cared so much , he would be angry if he learned there were tears on them that left stains . )

filius and Pomona decide that it's an excellent opportunity for further experiences and bring their classes down to quirrell's room from time to time . it gets the ghost to speak , and the students learn new things . it's worth the small smile , the quiet yet excited voice coming from the ghost as he explains the plants , their uses , and how to take care of them . he sometimes corrects students , showing them which way to flick their wand and when to thrust it to cast proper spells . though sometimes he will be far away , hidden in a corner , not even brave enough to face the older students if they decide to bring them here .

( they learn their lesson to avoid bringing the older students , when some , who remember what quirrell had done , reacted terribly and insulted the professor to the point where it took another two weeks before the professor appeared back in the room . and another few weeks before he started responding , stopped crying again and listening to what said to him . )

the first time he truly leaves his room ( the students had decided to call it that , since it was easier , and to avoid suspicion around umbridge ) is a true disaster . it is halfway and a bit after through the year , and a few of the students decide to hide in his room .

at first , he doesn't hear the soft cries of the young girl and two boys because of his own sobs , until she stars sobbing just as loud as him .

curious to why someone young as her would be in such devastating state , he floats up to her . if you were to ask what happened next , he couldn't tell .

one second he was staring at a terrible scar on the back of her hand , and the next he was floating down the corridors of Hogwarts , followed by the pleasing group of three , for him to stop to not do it .

they do not succeed .

the amount of noise they are making , of course attract the attention of the professors , and they are shocked when they see the professor floating through the halls . not a tear in sight , fury visible on his face . he is angry , and you do not get in the way of a pissed ghost . ( not that you can , of course . )

for the first time , his eyes are focused , no longer unseeing .

he doesn't even bother knocking , he goes right through the door , and people hold their breath .

he just crashed Umbridge's lesson .

due to the lack of slammed door , it takes a while until umbridge notices the ghost .

" um . . professor ?— " " i do not remember seeing a raised hand , or me giving you permission to speak , Mr Potter . detention , after class in my offi— "

she gets cut off by a gasp , because glaring down at her is no other than the ghost of quirinus quirrell , the former DADA professor

" no . " his voice echoes in the room .

" p-pardon ? "

" . . i s-said , n o . " this time , his voice is much , much louder . it's the loudest he had ever spoken in months .

" y-you w-will not torture a-any o-of the students ! "

" i don't think a ghost has a say in how i punish my students ! "

a few minutes of silence , and umbridge takes that as a win .

it is not .

it's when a hand lands harshly on her shoulder , and practically throws her around , true panic settles in .

because normal ghosts are not supposed to be able to interact with objects , let alone another human being . and quirrell ? quirrell is inches away from her face , eyes a bright red , and he is not happy .

" do you . . k-k-know how i-i d-died ? i died w-when a d-dark lord p-possessed m-me . i struggled , f-for months , f-fighting a-against him . he punished me t-too . and you . . y-you r-remind me t-too much of Voldemort— " he is cut off when no other than sybill trelawney slams the door open , gasping and wheezing as if she ran a marathon . wide eyes searching until they land on the ghost . only then , she relaxes .

apologizing , she moves over to quirinus , softly talking to him and leading him out of the classroom .

i was officially thinking of quirrell and his unfinished business being not being able to explain people what truly happened , and that he was innocent , but i thought , while writing the scene with him and dolores , why not add a little twist ?

so now not only his unfinished business is explaining his side of the story , it is also voldemort's death ( revenge ) , being useful and help the students ( guilt , from his DADA year . he had found dark arts interesting , and because of Voldemort he had failed to show the others his point of view on the subject ) and dolores umbridge ( he will not rest until that disgusting thing called a human being is gone from the halls of his home )

i also have a headcannon where the more feelings behind an unfinished business there is , and depending on the number of said unfinished business , the more in contact with he world said ghost is . like being able to touch objects , be completely aware of your surroundings , and going as far as acting like a human . and as you can see , quirinus has quite a few and loads of emotion behind it , especially when he focuses on them .

Sleeping Prince?: Potion Prompt

Im so excited! This is the first day of the 13 days of spooky writing event created by @dumbassunderthemountain​. The prompt for today was potion so I took inspiration from that plus the tale of sleeping beauty with a twist. I tried to switch the classic gender roles in the fairytale and remove all the creepy issues with consent the story deals with. I hope y'all don't mind all the Thranduil content I have been doing lately, Im not sure what's up with that. Just feel inspired ig ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You worked as a personal made to Prince Thranduil of Mirkwood. Your job was hard, but it payed well and helped you support your family. Your favorite and least favorite part of the job was the prince himself. On one hand, you found his presence enchanting and on the other it stung your heart to be around him. You see you fell in love with the prince, despite knowing it was impossible to be loved back. You were a commoner after all, and he was royalty. Despite this fact the prince and you shared many conversations together while you were cleaning his room. Everyone of these conversations made you just fall deeper and deeper in love with Thranduil; Little did you know the same was happening to him. 

On one particular night, you and many other servants were serving dinner for the royal family. You listened to King Orphoer and his wife argue back and fourth about potential royal matches for their son. You could see Thranduil zoning of as his parents rambled on about eligible princes of other elven kingdoms. It hurt you to listen but you kept a stone face as you poured the queen a glass of wine. Another servant did the same for the king and prince. Too busy with arguing the King and Queen did not take a spit of wine, however the bored prince did, hoping to realize some of his stresses. 

A minute too late a guard frantically rushed into the dinning room interrupting the king and queens squabble. 

“What is the meaning of this sudden interruption!” The King barked at the guard.

“My King forgive me, But I had no choice! The wine is poisoned. An enemy the kingdom tainted the wine with a potion!” The guard panted out.

“Poison, find who did this so I can-” Oropher roared only to be cut off by a thump caused by Thranduil fainting back into his chair causing it to sway backwards and tip over. 

The queen immediately rushed to her son along with myself and other servants to help bring the chair back up and try to wake the prince.

“My son, he drank the wine. Is he dead? Please someone save him” The queen pleaded tears forming in her eyes. 

“N-no, miss. Based off what we could figure out its an extremely powerful sleeping potion.. with only one known cure.” The guard nervously elaborated, with worry lacing his voice.

“What is the cure, we must find it as soon as possible” The king demanded.

“It’s umm, not physically tangible.. you see the cure is true loves kiss.” The guard nervously explained.

A Look of shock and panic passed over the kings face at this. We all knew why. Thranduil did not have a true love, how would we save him.

With no possible way to wake their son the king and queen kept him asleep in his bedroom, hoping that a miracle would happen to wake their son.  Despite the prince now being asleep for a month at this point you were still employed to clean his room everyday; ridding it of any dust that may have formed. 

You could not quite say what overcame you whenever you where in there, but it felt as if a supernatural force, a spirt perhaps was pushing you towards the slumbering prince. Maybe it was the spirt of the sleeping prince. You normally never obeyed the pull, but today either your will was weaker or the spirt was stronger.

You let yourself be pulled to stand besides the bed the prince laid on. As you looked down at the face you had grown to love and missed a thought what whispered into your mind; Kiss him. It felt almost as if the same spirt dragging you towards the price planted that thought into your mind. You thought the idea over, no one would ever know if you did and maybe, just maybe it would wake him. The idea of you a peasant being his love seems absurd but you could hope you were wrong. 

Giving into the spirts request you leaned down to place a soft kiss onto the sleeping princes lips with a pink face. When your lips touched his it felt as if sparks formed. You pulled away, hopeful eyes watching the prince. After about a minute and Thranduil showing no sighs of waking you gave up and returned to your chores. 

You began dusting off a wardrobe only to hear a groan and ruffling of sheets behind you. You looked behind you to be overwhelmed with shock and happiness; Thranduil had woken up. You ran to the prince and hugged him, not caring if you would be punished or possibly killed. 

Thranduil chucked as he wrapped his arms around you. “Took you long enough, I thought you would never kiss me.” Thranduil teased being his usual playful self as if nothing happened. 

“Took me long enough- wait! You were the spirt I kept feeling.” You exclaimed. Thranduil nodded his head a grin on his face. “Does that mean.. you love me?” You asked putting the pieces together. Thranduil nodded his head again watching you with amused eyes as you starred at him in shock.

“I think since you took so long, you owe me another kiss  would’t you say.” The prince teased causing your cheeks to be tainted pink. Before you could think of a response Thranduil pulled you into a love filled kiss. 

Soon you both pulled away In need of air both flaunting love sick grins. “Now can we get some water? You have no idea how thirsty I am, I mean its been a month.” Thranduil joked. 

“Sure. lets just hope there is no potion in it this time.” You joked while giggling.

Import isn't the term used between states in the same country of origin.

While I was at it, I made an appointment for Khou and Bird-Bird to get their base line blood work.

That will be on the 20th.

Honestly, the only thing bothering me about the new shipping requirements is how they were implemented.  I think animals sold should absolutely have some guarantee that they aren't going to arrive diseased or full of parasites.  I already keep all genetic, breeding, vaccination, worming, and records of vet visits and what they were for.  It isn't egregious for that information to be guaranteed sent to the buyer.

And having a vet confirm it is a good idea.

My question is who gets punished for that paperwork not being there?  If it's the breeder/seller, that makes sense.  But if it's the recipient, that's kind of bullshit. What control do they have over how the birds are handled and what records are kept before the birds get to them?

Y'all have seen what the birds I've gotten from show breeders have had on them and in them.

And the temple to paranoia that my quarantine set up and procedure developed into because of it.

I'd really appreciate... any improvement in husbandry required.  

It would be really nice not to have to expect that every new bird purchased from another breeder is going to be a disease or parasite bomb that I have to spend at least a month defusing before I can be sure that my residents will not be in danger.  

It's one thing if the bird came off the literal street. No rescue in their right mind doesn't expect for stray animals to be nasty and sick and prepare their equipment and stock their medicine cabinets accordingly.  

But no one buying a purebred dog or cat from a reputable breeder expects that animal to be filthy, sick, or full of parasites.

Can you imagine a breeder maintaining their reputation and credibility if they sold dogs or cats in the conditions I've received my purebred breeding pigeons?

Patron: "i think that's called a puppy mill"

"which is illegal"

"not that puppy mills are reputable, just pointing out this kind of thing is explicitly illegal for dogs and cats"

Right.  Pigeons are largely mill bred, because welfare laws only apply to them if they were bred to be eaten.

They are popular among the current majority of their breeders because they are cheap and easy and there are no enforceable regulations to comply with.

Cherub is homozygous Ash Red, so all his kids out of Tandy are going to be red.  Probably some pied. She Carries Bald Head from Cookie's family, and Cherub is a satinette under that white.

Patron: "that plus their sleek elegant shapes are gonna make such pretty babies"

"tandy carries crest too right?"

50% chance she does.  Cookie carries crest, but what she expresses is the partial dominant mane.

Tandy doesn't express mane, so she doesn't have that gene.  And Since Cookie is het for a recessive crest and Tandy was sired by a racing homer, she may or may not have inherited and we won't know until a kid of hers expresses it.

Patron: "so how likely is it that the babies will be crested?"

50/50, depending on whether or not Tandy carries.

Tandy only has a 50% chance of carrying.

Cookie punched the egg she's been fostering out of my hand.

I candled it on the way in to glue the crack, but it wasn't fertile.

Satin and Sprinks are already trying again, so not a crushing loss.
