that’s the stuff that’s so good about posts where people are like dean and cas act exactly the same after getting together cause like yeah!!!! the way they are on the show pre confession there’s no reason why you cant watch and be like yeah cas is indeed fucking dean every night they are in a long term committed relationship cuz they already fuckin act like it and if they don’t contradict me specifically then i can think whatever i want. and that’s where we get to have fun! but then they screwed that up and FOR WHAT!!!!!!!!

im remembering the heart pounding thrill of that first real clexa scene in the 100 where clarke confronts lexa pushing her back til she hits the table and it’s like :O like so sexy & good but cynicism re: gay tv makes you think there’s no reason they’re going to go there with them. then lexa goes ‘not everyone. not you’ and the unbearably intense eye contact while clarke takes the moment to process that then ‘well if you care about me then trust me’ and it’s like :O :O :O :O :O HOLY FUUUUCK!!!!!! THIS IS NOT A DRILL IT’S HAPPENING!!!! then the payoff when they actually kiss. like that was such a paradigm shifting moment for me as a gay tv watcher like they fuckin committed they crossed that line baby it’s a new dawn it’s a new day for genre tv homos. obvi this doesnt age well given what happens a season later lol but in the moment that was so earth shattering for me.

but with cas’ confession it’s like. after 15 years of bullying you and calling you crazy they for who knows what reason turn around and deliver you the crossing of that line but then smack you around for ever asking about it or bringing it up again lol. truly worst of both worlds.

i wonder if they thought ‘cas helped’ and dean’s wry smile was actually supposed to be significant enough to address it while leaving it ambiguous, like if you wanted to you could think aw that’s them acknowledging it and after credits roll dean goes and finds cas and they get together. but in actuality it was so completely underwhelming that after airing people (me included!) didn’t even actually process that line whatsoever and we were all like sooooo cas is in turbo hell forever then i guess?? lol like i watched the ep live and i dont think i figured out it meant that cas wasn’t in the empty anymore until a week later. these fuckers CHOSE in the final stretch to try to be a different kind of tv then went SIKE bitch u thought!!!
