3 flowers? Damn, Marz, keeping me humble lol.

OK, this first wip I wrote while on the plane after watching Waitress the Musical and feeling MANY feelings. Instead of the next chapter lol.

He was afraid of the past. He knew that. But when he looked to the future… He used to have an old neighbor. Ancient. Stan would talk to him, and he would tell stories, and teach parables, life lessons Stan was far too young to remember. He couldn't even remember the neighbor's name. But he remembered that he made Stan feel young. Naive. Hopeful, filling his heart with a desperate want– a desperate need– so powerful that it made him want to scream and cry. And so he did. Yet to this day Stan couldn't define what exactly he cried for. The man made Stan look forward to the future, when the neighbor kids would come over to his porch, look up at him in his old age with spaekling hunger as he rocked contentedly in his rocking chair, as he told them stories they'd never remember, leaving a lasting impression they'd never forget. Make them feel safe, make them feel naive, make them look forward to the future where they too could do the same. And only then, finally, after all these years, did he finally cry.

Yeah, I was working through some things. Anyway, onward to the next wip snippet! This one is for the upcoming branding post.

** In addition, many supers are not allowed to use their powers, period. For example, anyone with a Red or Black designation, and any other super whose power is deemed unfit for society. These supers have a special ink in their brand that, when their power is activated, will glow extremely brightly like a flashlight for about 2 minutes before fading. If you ever see this glowing brand, hide from the super and then report it to the authorities immediately.

And this next one is actually one of my first creative writing stories I ever wrote about supers. I'm rewriting it bc of an ask I got about some very important (un)Official Guide lore (which I will answer soon, promise lol)

“Alright, what the hell,” Destron finally cried when her neutral silence became too much to bear, ripping off the blindfold before they even arrived at the cell he’d laid out for her. “Don’t stare at me like that, what's wrong with you? You’ve been kidnapped! Aren’t you terrified?” She stared up at him with her big green eyes. Not scared. Destron honestly couldn't tell what emotion that was. Destron narrowed his own eyes at her before resuming his walk, yelling unanswered by his silently compliant captive. The girl followed after him.

(Also if you're looking at that and thinking "huh, I wonder if he's talking about my ask with this? Maybe?" Then yes I can promise it's 100% you lol. Yall talking to me and asking about stuff genuinely impacts the story and makes it better, so thank you :) )

(though there are things i am just gonna keep in comic form, like their kids and stuff, bc i dont rly have ideas for any sort of epilogue with that. so if ppl wanna know about seb and cloras kids, they can just look at my art once i finally draw and post them ^^)

IVE THOUGHT ABOUT THIS TOO and the hairclip would defs be different!! i just havent decided what it would be.... (bro's about go buy her something bedazzled from ardene or claire's or some shit 💀💀LMAO) as for the mascots, the snake for seb would defs still apply bc ive decided its their mascot for the school football team. but for clora no, i dont think bird/raven imagery would be a thing......tho maybe the school mascots can be the snakes AND ravens LMFAO. and then i can have seb look directly into the camera and say "well, clora, looks like we really are The Raven and the Snake."

these are all super old doodles (and a wip) except for the Dia and Born one which is from yesterday!!

basically this AU revolves a lot around music, as someone who really loves music. I want to say that the characters are all in Music school or maybe Art school so that it can include other characters’ interests like Red Beryls love for fashion and tailoring.

This idea came to me when I was listening to rock (more specifically Queen) and I started envisioning Phos’s moon group as a band! At first consisting of all the gems that went with Phos to the moon, with the exception of Goshen since they never really stuck around for much and were just doing their own thing LOL. Ofc this means that Dia later on breaks off from the band to become an idol like in the manga. Also Padpa plays tthe piano and as a former piano player that’s important for me to say. I have most of that arc envisioned and back when I first thought of the AU I had wanted to execute it with animatics, which im still kind of considering!

I also assigned each of Phos’s phases songs, which I can delve into in another post. Going back in time a little to the beginning, I imagine that partnerships are kind of like bands too , and duos and stuff. Like for example Dia and Bort are a duo and they make music togetherr :3 and they have little matching pendants because idk I thought it was cute. Anyways tho I was thinking maybe Phos just lives around this school at the very beginning of this AU and wants to join a band or just join them in making music, but they haven’t gotten accepted into the school and the other gems see them as inexperienced. Btw Antarc is the one who starts to teach Phos about music similarly to how they started winter duties together. Also I love Phos and Antarc so there might be a lot of focus on them in this AU.

She exhaled sharply, her fist going loose into a palm, letting the towel fall to the floor and pool at her feet. Adam’s brows shot up, his wings puffing out simultaneously like crazy, a few golden feathers falling and floating gently onto the water.

Ignoring his reaction, she took a brazen step over and dipped her foot onto the first step of the tub. Slowly, she sauntered in and adjusted to the scalding whiplash against her skin and the concrete below her feet—which didn't take too much time, as they were literally in Hell earlier.

What took time was trying to maintain her composure when it sunk in. It didn’t necessarily occur to her how worse things would get now that she was at the bottom of the short steps, facing him unintentionally close.

Too close. More than she anticipated for a simple act of challenging his ego for once.

The pounding in her ears got louder as she stood in front of him, trying to keep herself from staring too long.

While his eyes gradually drifted downward, he tugged his elbows up on the rim in admiration.

Her lip curled when the realization hit as to what he was so shamelessly entranced by, quickly covering her chest with her arms.

“Don’t block my view, bitch.”

Sometimes, Lute seriously didn’t understand why she liked him so much—let alone tolerated him.

A man that could not, and refused to get over himself for a second.

Still, her heart pounded against her ribcage, the warmness and the closeness screwing with her entirely, finally resigning with Adam’s demand.

“Hoooly fucking. Shit. Knew it was a good move nicknaming you ‘Dangertits’,” he broke out when her arms slipped away, taking her in for a second time. “But y’know. My decisions are always top-notch.” His voice strained on the last word when he reached down with a renewed vigor, like he couldn’t take it anymore. He hooked his arms around the backs of her knees, cushioning together with his forearms.

Her eyes went wide as he lifted her, taking her into a straddle on his lap, water swishing from the movements. It earned him an involuntary, humiliating grunt from her that really got him going, making him laugh a bit. “Now that’s straight-fuckin’-music!” he mused.

Damn it.

i feel like an everpresent topic ive had on my mind especially often for the last year is kindness. there's a multitude of things i could say, whether that's bashing people for lacking it, or get all teary over how beautiful it is (which!! it is!!!) but i think what ive recently discovered is that it's my only constant :3 when everything else goes wrong, that's all i have, and im really happy it's second nature to me (altho im still actively working on making myself better!!!!)

yeah, maybe everything sucks right now, but i know i can make someone else's day better :3 and often it makes things a little more okay to me too

i am so glad it's finally been said out loud. And that it was Mor who said it because immediately I understood how she was feeling about the entire situation, which made me feel better about her being an asshat at the end of the last chapter. It's strangely therapeutic. As soon as Mor tells Az to shut up though, I couldn't help but start crying a little bit because you really perfected how I thought Mor would've perceived reader going to Eris-

“She could have come to any of us. It’s more than we ever had, and yet she ignored it. Then tries to pretend it away? I’m not immune to that. If she can’t even be bothered to care about my pain why should I give a damn about hers?”

-this line in particular ruined me (not to be too personal n emotional lol), as someone who grew up in a not so great home i can really empathize with Mor here. It's not healthy behavior but I can say that there have been times where I've resented the people in my life who didn't accept help after i had been desperate for it for years. I'm more emotionally aware now and have unpacked those resentments (THANK GOD), but it was such a visceral response to reading that line because it mirrored unhealed me.

The next scene with madja was the perfect balance to mor and azriel's...argument? discussion? idk. You really guide us well through the world which is something I really admire in your writing, it flows very naturally and it always feels like a very natural progression of events. (its just something i've noticed i struggle with in my own wips lol).

compliments aside, it was also really sweet to see reader's peace in this chapter. Madja herself being a very peaceful motherly figure for reader who we know desperately needs that kind of care right now, her sisters are doing great right now but she needs someone who's not family to prove that they do care about her and it will not change over a few mistakes. Which is something that Cassian embodies very well later in the chapter too.

Bas.... sweet guy :( i hope reader gives him the truth. Imo, i think he deserves at least a bit of the truth when she is in a better place to give it (she fr could've said she was at a friend's in autumn. bas doesn't need to know WHO). But Bas held up his own boundaries very well with reader as well and I'm glad that we got a little of his feelings on the situation as well as reader acknowledging she hasn't been a great friend recently. (it's valid tho she's been goin THROUGH IT)

Tabbatha... you keep saying you don't know how to portray cassian but i personally think you do him such a great service ESPECIALLY after some instances of cass's behavior towards nesta's struggles in her own healing journey. I really feel like he actually cares about reader herself compared to rhys who cared about feyre and her only. He makes an effort to get her to relax, which is something acomaf cass would've done and is the version of him i miss the most. And him calling reader out for keeping things to herself? I personally think she needs to be called out and take accountability for her own role in the healing process. He was the perfect person to push her in this scene.

The dinner scene also really resonated with me and my own childhood. As a kid growing up we NEVER ate dinner together, so reader's apprehension to going to dinner is so real, and Mor sitting across from her?

If I’m honest with you, I wanted Mor to tear into Az a little more than she did? For her to fairly obviously and kind of viciously defend reader but I felt it would be weird for her to go that far, considering Mor is supposed to be feeling very betrayed and hurt by reader? I did have fun with writing Mor telling Az to shut up though 🫣 I even nearly italicised it 🫢😳

Oh I really liked writing the Madja scene!! I mean, kind of scary obviously, but I enjoy her character and it’s so nice getting to write someone being kind to reader? 😭 Particularly since a fair amount of scenes in cbmthy aren’t particularly lighthearted/high-spirited? I’m hoping to continue dropping scenes with Madja in here and there since it would be weird if reader’s checkups suddenly stopped out of nowhere? Also so she has someone to keep an eye on her who might know a little more about what’s going on with her physically and mentally from experience and studying other people/medicine?

This might be totally unsolicited/unhelpful, but usually for me if a scene isn’t working or I’m struggling to write it, I’ll either change the perspective or switch to something else entirely? Like the scene just after reader’s entered the kitchen with Cassian I was struggling with, which is why there’s that snippet from Rhys’ pov to section them up? I don’t know if that’ll work for other people, but it’s something I fall back on quite regularly so it might help you too? 🫂🧡💛

I’m so glad you feel Cassian read that way!! 😭 I’m kind of of the mind that Nesta’s still protective over her sisters and so that might occasionally stretch across to Cassian at times? Also I just feel like Cassian genuinely cares about people in a more (this might sound strange) innocent way? Like more carefully and tenderly?

I would have loved to write Cassian and reader as being good friends but because Cassian’s friends with Feyre I think reader would still always feel in second place and unfortunately it might hinder her more than help 😭
