OKAY I GOT DISTRACTED FOR A BIT BY GETTING IN THE ZONE BUT AITSF UDPATE:
1: finished the komeji and shoma ending! i! okay ill be honestly i wasn't super thrilled. I REALLY like the set up stuff in terms of simulation reality, and beleiving its all fake bcs you can't cope, im MASSIVELY INTO THAT. But. I don't. like. Komeji I'm so sorry his just. he's so cube. and he annoys me. I feel like a usually have a pretty high tolerance for this kinda stuff but I just. On paper i get it but in practice I really dont like him. was very happy to see date n co tho. i think it's RIDICULOUSSSS how they explain date's interest in porn like that did not need to be explained. however. its such a stupid explanation it kinda loops back around to being funny to me. sure. why not.
2: ollowing finishing that route i tried to get back to Tokiko to see if i could use that elevator code, bcs she'd been mentioning frayers and i thought i knew what that was but i did not. but no thats only 6 digits so still not right f=/. dang. i also tried to get onto mizuki's half i miss my baby, but i found i needed two names. i know Dahlia is one, but the other is 4 letters so. Currently its probably either for Mame, Lien, or Naix. I suspect Naix the most as an answer.
3: started onto the other route from komeji's somnium. I maintain that these are too easy. It's not like they're like. the problem is that I feel like i'm being treated like I'm an idiot. ryuki and tama talk everything out in such detail, and theres often not a lot of stuff to interact with at all, a lot of which doesn't even let you make the choices like from the last game. like, proper timie usage was SO important to me last game and in this one I've never even racked up 3. i also feel like there's less dream logic, and it's a little disappointing. like, oh tape the cardboard back together. turn on the tv. =( the whimsy. it did improve some in the back half though, and i'll take it!!!
4: liking this dead komeji route WAY MORE than the other one. its not that i hate him that much but i do like the way the plots moving here. what does mame know? whats the masked womans deal? has anyone seen shoma. WHAT IS WRONGGGG WITH RYUKI <33. what is wrong with ryuki is by far my favourite mystery. im more interested in that than i am in the half body killings honestly. (part of that is teh victims i think. we dont really know jin, chikara was annoying at best but the more i learn about him the more i hate him, komeji was annoying, so. honestly i havent really been that upset about any of them dying. tokiko i did love and i am sad she's gone, but also these murders are a little bland following the first game. i just watched a guys head explode could there at least be a little blood? just a little? i know its probably for plot reasons but ive never missed gore so bad. im not even that into gore.
5: somewhere on the dead komeji route i finally figured out what that little green thing in the menu was so i've activated my tamagotchi thingy!! very fun i love it. mines an iris-y one or something? its cuteee!!
6: in terms of the wider mystery: im just really curious how far they're gonna commit to being meta.they did start with asking ME what i knew about the last game so.... looking forward to ryuki's whole deal, actually getting to play as my darling mizuki again, finding out what is UPP with date. i really like the weird videos series i just think they're neat. if the endgame doesn't have a somnium based on those thigns i will be disappointed, surely thats what we're building to.
i left off right before starting mame's somniumin the gameshow room. i don't think shes' actually involved in the killings, but doing that would be REALLY NEAT as a sequel thing, imo. i'd like it. i think shes just hiding stuff bcs she was threatened. assumably i've still got a good chunk of the game to paly! i havent done much if any of the extra eyeballs either, just whats on the way so. i'll get those guys. have been picking up some costumes n stuff tho. you can put tama <33 in pants <3333333333.

"𝙵𝚊𝚍𝚎𝚍 𝙿𝚎𝚝𝚊𝚕𝚜"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
࿐ character(s): Daichi Sawamura, Asahi Azumane
࿐ genre: sfw, soft/fluff
࿐ type: (au) headcanons
࿐ requested by: anon
⌦ boyfriend male!reader (he/him)
⌦ genshin impact x haikyuu!!, modern settings
⌦‘can i request an au headcanon (basically genshin impact x haikyuu!!, modern settings, but the vision bearers are rarer than post traveler time and there's still spiral abyss where vision bearers help discovering new information and artifacts, and getting paid from their country for that) So, daichi and asahi's boyfriend(a vision bearer, which element is up to you to decide.)(also separetly) reacts that their boyfriend just give them an old flower artifact that he found that reminds male!reader of his boyfriend‘
A/N: an interesting concept !! thank you for requesting, im not good with reactions but- ihopethisisokay,, i dont think i did well on this,, khai writes hcs weirdly pt. who fucking knows.
Tumblr media
asahi azumane’s give flower: wanderer’s troupe or viridescent venerer
𝙳𝚊𝚒𝚌𝚑𝚒:
》 staring at the rosy-red petaled flower that was supposedly made into a brooch, a piece missing that would make the item stay on the wearer. your eyes glossed over the item, identifying cracks and scratches on the metallic bronze pieces that accompanied the ordinary looking flower, that somehow was in one piece. just... slightly off-colored. before jumping as your name was called by another vision-bearer with two others by the way towards the exit of the Abyss floor, you began to hurry over to them as you gently slid the “Gladiator’s Nostalgia” into your pouch. the name you had read before within a dusty journal, remembering it so clearly with a much vibrant image than the real one you had now. but it oh, so reminded you of your beloved boyfriend, the one waiting for you at your shared home. 《
→ Daichi didn’t know he would be dating a vision-bearer, no one would’ve thought of a thing really. they were such a rare sight to see out in public- especially in the modern days. but that only just added to the many surprises you came home with after your days of working in the “Spiral Abyss” is what they call it.
→ giving him the faded-out red flower as soon as you walked through the front door, a bright smile across your face, was a sight he would never get tired of. except the slight worriedness would built up seeing scratches n bruises along your skin the more he stared...
→ eventually leading him to treating your injuries properly, maybe a slight scold or lecture here and there-
→ “Love, you know you have to be careful. Especially with fire! I know you have a Pyro vision, but that doesn’t mean mess around- and play with fire itself- You aren’t immune to it.” “..even worse that you tried using your abilities to cook..”
→ “He-hey it was a one time thing-!! and I was really curious ‘Muraaa..” you whined, wincing and pulling your face away with a pout as Daichi pressed a cotton swab onto the cut along your cheek.
→ “Yeah yeah, lil’ember.” He muttered the nickname, swiping a thumb over the bandaid to cover the cut. “..there you are done, now go get a change of clothes dirty boy- I have to put the first aid stuff away.”
→ seeing you disappear pass the door frame of your shared room, he went back to pack and close the first aid kit. before his eyes wandered towards the flower you had given him earlier, which was just idly sitting there on the counter. Daichi picked up the flower holding it gently in his palms, feeling the petals with his free hand.
→ he stared at the flower for a long moment, observing the petals before noticing the scratches on the metal pieces attached to the brooch. he smile gently, beginning to realize this was a gift to him, a gift that you gave and probably risked your life to nag.
→ sighing deeply at the thought of you getting hurt, knowing how clumsy you can be, he went off to the shared room where you would be. just to make sure you dont... do something stupid.
→ “Y/N?” Daichi had softly called out, seeing your head peek out from the closet as you slid a shirt on. he motioned his hands upwards a little, still holding the faded-brooch in his palms.
→ “Oh! The Gladiator’s Nostalgia? The flower, do you like it??” the way you had ecstatically replied, he could imagine a puppy’s tail wagging so fast. your eyes shimmering as you awaited his answer.
→ “I love it, ember, it was really nice of you to give it to me.” “..although I hope you didn’t get hurt too much... to achieve it. I bet this was hard to get-” He spoke softly, genuine about the words slipping through his lips.
→ “Well actually... not really-” seeing Daichi look at you in confusion, “..I’ve seen that artifact set a lot on my runs with my team, but are often- broken’n’damaged. So I- I could never give you one-” “There’s also different ones apart of the same set for yours!! I might try to collect the others for you... or more.. flowers..”
→ “Wa-wait-,, there’s more-?” he longed on his question, before he could let out another word he noticed how you started to ramble. talking about interesting details of the items you could get him on your adventures and battles, and all he did was listen. settling down on the edge of the bed while you went on.
→ you were so passionate with your job, what you were doing as a vision-bearer. it’s what he liked about you, or well... loved about you. although he wonder if every Vision-bearer were the same, he’d still take you, . date you, just as who you are. with, or without a vision. and ofc he will keep an eye on what gifts you decide to give him in the mere future.
𝙰𝚜𝚊𝚑𝚒:
》 being an Anemo Vision bearer, your able to adapt and flow with whatever could come your way. making elements spread across the battlefield with one set of moves or to crowd-control them into one spot for the others to strike the unfortunate foes. time to time you would stumble upon the “Viridescent Venerer” set in the fallen loot of opponents or the scuffed chests that were stashed at the end of battles. they looked so different than most artifacts, especially the flowers. common artifacts were genuine real flowers, making them have the same aspect as any other flower, withering and fading into nothing but dull-bland colors. but the Viridescent Venerer’s flower did not, it was just a white wild flower that used to cover the earth. and it has not withered one bit, and still gives off an exquisite fragrance you noticed as the times you ran by it... and well of course noticed it as the scent was what you usually smelled since you had one as part of your outfit. 《
→ Asahi had always pointed out the flower on your outfit, the “In Remembrance of Viridescent Fields“ is what the books would title it, but in short you just called it the Viridescent Venerer flower or just... Viridescent for Asahi’s sake.
→ he had always complimented on how it looked beautiful and pretty, especially when his beloved boyfriend is wearing it.
→ as days of works and floors of the Spiral Abyss, you managed to find a new piece of the Viridescent to use. unlike discarding the one you currently you had, you had an idea that came into mind, finding you sliding the newer artifact into your bag before leaving off to home. a smile brought onto your face.
→ now cuddling in each others presence, you both chatted about your days. already cleaned yourself up from your days works. hand in hand with soft laughter erupting from both of you, before it died off into comfortable silence.
→ “Azumane, love?” you simply called out, knowing you caught his attention instantly as you felt movement from him. “You certainly like the flower on my fit.”
→ “Well it really is- pretty. Like knowing how regular and most flowers wilt and wither- That one hasn’t! An-And I believe its the same one you wore the day we met too-” he noted.
→ to only be surprised at his memory of these types of things, you laughed- making him startled and a bit embarrassed.
→ “You sure have quite the memory, to even remember that image? I’m impressed, so I assume... it has caught your eye since the start? Just like I was to your own vision~” you cooed, getting up from his grasps before disappearing pass a corner of a wall.
→ confusion expressed on Asahi’s face, sitting up from his position on the couch before his eyes caught the glimpse of the Viridescent in your hand.
→ sitting on the edge of the couch, you motioned the flower towards him, a gentle smile across your face.
→ “I would simply like you to have mine then, it is quite old- and worn from the times I’ve had it through my lifetime. But I think it’ll be a nice gift from me to you.”
→ hearing the words being slipped passed your mouth, he felt tears daring to fall from his eyes- Asahi did not know why. but imagining keeping the Viridescent you had for who knew how long-
→ it would be something he would cherish, something he wouldnt let go.
→ exchanging gentle kisses across your face in exchange, trying his best not to cry the joy. because it was so touching- so simple yet so poetic to give. he didn’t think he deserved one.
→ and from that afternoon, Asahi had kept it. he had kept it safe and sound, bringing it with him whenever you were never there. so he had something to calm him down in anxious moments. he had a memory of you in a flower that would never wither.

your roommate hcs are so cute, can i request for naib, demi, tracy, andrew, kurt, patricia, and victor?
:0 holy crap yes! I’m so glad you enjoyed the roommate hcs!! Me and the other mods hope you enjoy these! Thank you for requesting :))
(i added melly because why not? lmao hope you don’t mind.)
Part 1!
Naib Subedar
This man deadass didn’t know you were living with him
Even when people told him about it, he wasn’t rlly paying attention and didn’t rlly care
Your stuff in his room? He thought it was his or someone just broke into his room and left it there
When he saw you on the toilet however, he just freaked out.
“Why the hell are you shitting in my room!?” “Your room? I’ve been living here for 2 months!”
Once he found out you lived with him, he made sure you knew what was his and what was yours
also, since he’s very protective of his things-- you being one of them-- he would totally get jealous if he caught you tallking to someone that wasn’t him.
he would probably give you the silent treatment and act like a pissy baby
He hates it when you touch his stuff
especially his photos, the photos were special to him because they were of him and his army friends.
You’d sometimes catch him looking at the photos with a longing in his eyes, it was highkey sad.
having you live with him meant lots and lots of training
he made sure you were always prepared for matches and that you don’t get downed early
when you got downed early however, He would scold you but he would still rescue you anyways because he’s soft
“You’re such an idiot, you’d better do better next time! Or else I’ll kick your ass.”
one time he got cocky while kiting because you were watching him
he forgot to turn on his elbow pads and face palmed into the wall.
“...You saw nothing.” He turned around, a bit woozy from hitting his head on a wall. He flipped the hunter off before stumbling wooshing away
When you first get to know naib, he’d probably come off as intimidating and menacing
but once you get to know him--the real him--, you start to understand that even though he may be tough on you, its because he wants you to be the best
he has good intentions
During matches he’d let you handle yourself and made sure you didn’t rely on him too much
One time you needed to shower but you ran out of your shampoo so you used his.
When he questioned you, you simply responded “What? You don’t need it anyways, you’re bald!”
He didn’t rescue you the next round.
should’ve seen that coming
though he forgives you when you braid his luscious long existent hair for him
Kurt Frank
The amount of times you almost stepped on this man is astronomical.
he would constantly be in his tiny form because he would lose a lot of his things
his tiny form helped him find his things easily
Though when you first moved in with him, you had no idea what his ability was
so when you first saw a tiny version of your roommate you thought he was just a weird doll
until you heard him say a tiny, “Hey can you move your ginORMOUS foot? You’re stepping on my book.”
You fucking screeched and took off your shoe to try and kill him
“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH”“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH”
After he explained to you about his ability you calmed down a bit and spared this tiny man but only this time!
Frank loves books, he probably filled your shared rooms with stacks on stacks of books
You’d often see him tiny, waving at you while you’re decoding
Once you overhead Kurt arguing with First Officer over who was the rightful owner of some sort of treasure map
They fought for days,
kurt would constantly complain about it to you
turns out it was just a game on the back of a Cereal box.
sorry this is short like kurt
Tracy Reznik
Would be a little awkward at first, but the awkwardness slowly fades away when you both make bad jokes
she gives me childhood best friend vibes
Has her doll sitting in the corner of your shared room room, it’s lifeless eyes scare the living shit out of you in the dark you try not to make eye contact, afraid it’ll curse you or smth
if she was mad at you she would move the bot in a way that looked like it was flipping you off you off in your direction before you went to bed.
Always making little robot things that are super fun to play with
Loves sharing her things. Has no problem with it
you wanna wear her clothes? sure
you want to wear her underwear? evEN BETTER-
Pulling all nighters, trying to get her machines to work like how she wanted it to work.
Would live off of kraft Mac n cheese and junk food in the modern day
Pretty hyper, chugs pink monster energy drinks while pulling all nighters, also, in the modern day
would probably be a bruh girl
Her room is a mess, covered with blueprints and scrap metal
her room is practically a safety hazard
Sometimes she dresses her doll up a bit, putting wigs or her old clothes on it (which scares you half to death)
Once she made her doll dress up like her
and you almost went up to it to ask what it wanted for dinner.
Has a photo of her and her dad
You never wanted to bring it up, worried it might make her upset :(
Sometimes she’d feel really guilty about being downed in the first 30 seconds
please comfort her, she feels super bad
She always relies on you to rescue her
She gets really happy and thankful when you body block for her but she still gets a bit concerned when you do it randomly
“i wasn’t even kiting-” “Protecc the mecc.”
Demi Bourbon
Always out at the bar
Smells like alcohol constantly
tipsy 24/7
she’s never 100% sober
You have to hold her hair out of her face when she comes back to your shared room to hurl
Likes bringing back hard vodka or weird flavoured alcohols back for you guys to get wasted try together
Room is bit cluttered, but she doesn’t have much in her room since she’s always out in bars or matches
Usually latches onto you like a parasite when she’s drunk.
it gets a bit awkward when her face is a bit close to yours,
“Are we about to kiss right now-? BLeurghgrhgherrgh.”“...*audible sigh*”
You’d go to her expecting her to heal you like a normal person but no
instead she shoves dovlin down your throat
She likes to do your makeup, and always adds a matching beauty mark
unless you don’t wear makeup, then she’d ask you to do hers
always loves how she looks afterwards
more than sometimes demi would get into bar fights,
so you know she’s about to throw hands when she starts takes off her earrings-
10/10 would fight for you <3
She’s gives me cool wine aunt vibes
Probably a lesbian too (check out our Demi smut fic ;))
Or bi, idk
Just straightn’t
She’s really good at hyping you up, especially when you’re taking shots
“CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG-”
Andrew Kreiss
Would be very shy at first, opens up a little when you get to know him
Totally a night owl, can’t sleep at night from all the guilt and “what if’”s
if you see this baby awake at night, hug him, he really needs it
You’ve never seen the other side of his face
How does he see with hair in his eyes?
He’s albino, which is super dope
Sometime you fear he’s thinking about burying you
You always see him thwacking Luca with his shovel
Barely talks
Room is moderate
He doesn’t want you to find out too much about him
He may seem bland, but he loves sweet food
You’d bake him cookies and other sweets
He’d act as if he’s not embarrassed and brush it off
“Are you blushing?”“No, I-I’m sunburnt.” “On your face?” “....I stare into the hot red sun sometimes because it eases me.”
to keep his lie going, every time he catches you staring at him he would fry his eye balls by staring into the sun until you left
partially the reason why he can’t see well
When he’s not looking, you stare at him while he’s eating the stuff you made because he looks so happy :’)
One time you found him down in the dumps so you made him a cup of coffee, and when you handed it to him you said-
“Depresso espresso?”
*sniff* ”..are you oka-” “IM NOT CRYING, YOU ARE”
he actually cried
it was such a nice gesture(?), that he started ugly crying
You’d ask him if he wanted hugs during matches when you see him get stressed
He’d be flushed and kinda confused
hug... him? why tho lmao
he’d definitely agree tho, to be fair, with some hesitation
if y’all ever cuddled in bed, i feel like he’d be a little spoon
poor boy needs the comfort, he wouldn’t mind if you wanted to be little spoon tho
he just wants to be close to you
Victor Grantz
You love playing with his dog, Wick
Super nice and polite, but a little guarded
The type to be too afraid to call people out when they do something wrong but would totally trash them in his head
You write him little letters everyday and leave them on his bed to make him happy :))
He’d a be a little spoon
Wick would always join you guys while cuddling
Kisses would be soft and gentle
Usually sends you the first letter in matches
Loves to cuddle
He bb 🥰
You always get him a birthday present AND a Christmas present
You also get a gift for Wick
He loves giving you surprise hugs
Likes to read with you while cuddling
Literally a cinnamon roll
Once he was eating a cinnamon roll
And you whispered
“C a n n i b a l i s m .”
He was very confused
and kind of scared- were you going to eat him?
Patricia Dorval
Room always smells like herbs
She could literally smoke weed and you’d think it’s some magical healing herb
it magically makes you feel better
Always there to stun the hunter when you’re ballooned
The mature one
Her room is organized, with boxes labeling what herbs and magic stuff that are in them
You were cooking dinner for the day and you accidentally used one of her fancy herbs in your soup
She didn’t realize until she tried the soup
She wasn’t mad just disappointed
She lectured you on how you shouldn’t touch her stuff or use it for cooking
Gotta admit tho, the soup was pretty good
she acts like the mom everyone wishes they had
totally the type to be like, “dude we should think this through.” before doing something risky
and then five seconds later, “cowABUNGA MY DUDES”
one time she caught kreacher leaving the mens washroom without washing his hands
seeing as she was the mother of this manor, she had to protect her children from diseases
so she yeeted her monkey skull at kreachers head, cleanly knocking him out
and everybody cheered.
Melly Plinius
When you heard melly was going to be your roomie, you couldn’t have been more excited.
you finally had a victim for the many insect pick up lines!
So you decided to make some good first impressions by waiting for her in your room.
so when she arrived to your room and greeted you, you happily greeted her back, and slipped in the pick up line.
“Hello, my name is Melly. I believe I will be your ro-?”“Yeah nice to meet you too, say, what do bees make?”
She kinda thought you were a bit rude so much for first impressions
“...Erm, honey?” she replied hesitantly
“YES DEAR?”
... okay maybe you weren’t thaaaat bad.
after that she kind of developed a teensy crush on you
so it was hard living with you because of her crush, since she was constantly flustered
you loved her reactions, she constantly got red.
it was funny watching her try to keep her cool and fail.

OKAY thank you for the brendon response lmao I’ve been trying to find the reason why for weeks now and I like could not lol cause I guess it was a lot of incidents and I wasn’t sure which one was the one everyone was talking about but it makes sense it was an amalgamation of all the shit he’s done. I think I read somewhere that he made sexually inappropriate statements about Taylor Swift too after they recorded ME! Which like she gave you so much free publicity dude… like why pull that shit after
Makes me sad bc I used to love PATD :/ I think he’s talented but like he forgets who put him there like being shitty to fans is just an instant turn off like they put food on your fucking table. Also he was nothinggg without the band IMO like after they all left he kinda just put out the standard bland pop rock and had to write with like 10 people (nothing wrong with collaborating but like lol if you had members who would stay in your band you wouldn’t have to have all these outside people come in… also I think he’s lazy tbh). But yeah this shit he’s pulled is inexcusable esp the racism
Idk separate thought but I think it’s so funny how 21p and PATD keep getting grouped with FOB when we do not want them. (I mean I know Pete signed PATD which yikes) but lol. The only true “emo” alliance is MCR 🤝 FOB I said what I said
i think afycso and p.o. are both amazing albums, and if he didnt have such an ego on him and was willing to be the worst person in the room at least once in his career then he couldve been a frontman on the level of p² and gee, but he wasnt. ne never has been. ive said this before but he gives me the vibe of a kid who was a triple threat in his small town highschool drama class who isnt really a triple threat but is as close as they can get and it really went to his head.
its pretty obvious (at least to me) that a lot of the potential pete saw for panic was in ryan, and i dont think brendon liked that very much. i dont think pete was fully aware how little he brought to the table until the split tbqh. its sad, genuinely, how amazing panic couldve been if ryan got the name or if brendon could deal with sharing the spotlight a bit. im editorializing a fair bit here but considering the way dallon got treated i just think the issue is that brendon cant handle criticism, which is. 90% of being a good artist in any discipline.
this is like very much not what you asked lmaooo i just think credit is due to pre split panic, and i think most of brendons Like That ness is from being in the spotlight and having 0 backbone whatsoever. i keep saying this but we shoulda listened to laura jane grace when she wrote piss n vinegar. we couldve escaped this.

Bland (2)
Draco Malfoy x Reader
tags - @fanficflaneuse
Summary- Prince Draco has to confess a lot sooner than expected .
bland
a/n- this is very much unedited but i just had to post it
The first part seriously flopped but I loved writing it so I still decided to continue it :))
“Where were you boy.” Lucius seethed at Draco the minute he walked into his room. His mother stood behind him but remained silent.
‘Why are you in my room.” Draco knew he was in deep shit, whenever he was with y/n he had always made sure to get back to the castle before nightfall but he had decided to spend the night with you, it was very much worth whatever punishment his dear father was about to give him.
“Where were you.” He repeated again ignoring Draco.
“Out.” Draco said simply.
“I can see that.”
“Your Grandfather wanted to have dinner with you last night and you were nowhere to be found. He is no doubt deciding whether to pass the crown down to me or my sister.” Lucius said gripping Draco’s arm.
“I don’t see why that has anything to do with me.” Draco said tugging his arm back.
“How can I show him I would be able to control a kingdom when I can’t control my seventeen year old boy.”
“Maybe you aren’t fit to be king.” As soon as the words left his mouth Lucius smacked Draco in the face, Narcissa let out a faint gasp as she reached for her husband who avoided her touch.
“You will not speak to me in that manner.” Lucius yelled , Draco remained silent whatever he would say would likely only make manners worse.
“Your Grandfather was gracious enough to invite you to brunch today. You will go, and you will behave yourself.”
“And no more of this sneaking out. I’m assigning guards to you, so don’t even try it.” Lucius finally said before storming out of the room.
“I’ll be fine.” Draco said to his mother who hesitated to leave, she quickly gave him a hug and a kiss before heading out to follow her husband.
Draco threw himself onto his bed. He quickly checked his clock, he had one hour until his brunch.
He considered skipping the brunch to spite Lucius, but he would probably drag him there.
When it came to the crown Draco’s father did not leave room for mistakes.
-
Draco didn’t mean to be late to the brunch.
He had been ready rather quickly but he had gotten distracted trying to lose his guards. He had walked up and down the corridors of the castle but they managed to keep up.
“Finally his Highness decided to grace us with his presence.” His Grandmother said. The Malfoy’s weren’t exactly the most pleasant of people.
“I’m sorry I’m late.” Draco said bowing to both his grandparents before taking a seat. They were the only people in the dining area, they had no doubt cleared it out for their special brunch.
“Where were you yesterday.” His Grandfather asked, he had a much more calm demeanor than Lucius had that morning.
“I was at Blaise’s house and I forgot to let my father know.” He quickly lied, Abraxos nodded.
“I hear you leave the castle a lot, is that where you go?” Draco tensed.
“Most of the time.” Abraxos hummed.
“You sure spend a lot of time together.” His grandfather sent him a knowing look.
“Oh. No, No it’s not like that.” Draco said almost choking on his drink holding back a chortle. His grandfather merely nodded.
Draco was greatly uncomfortable as they sat in silence for the next few minutes. He could tell his grandfather was studying his every movement down to how he drank his tea.
“Well I think we’re done here.” Abraxos said getting up.
“What, now? We barely started.” His grandmother said in protest.
“Yes.” He said. His Grandparents nodded in farewell and left the room.
Draco scoffed, that was what his father had been fussing about, a ten minute brunch?
He got up and left the room.
“Did they know about y/n?” Blaise asked popping out next to the door surprising Draco.
“How did you know I was here.”
“Crabbe wouldn’t stop talking about it all morning.” Daphne chimed in.
“Of course.” Draco huffed.
‘When can I meet her.” Daphne said with a frown. Draco and Blaise had told her all about their escapades and Daphne was over being left out.
“Probably never, Lucius has gotten me a personal guard.” Draco said, Daphne and Blaise glanced behind them to face the three guards following them intently.
“We could sneak out.” Blaise suggested.
“No can do, I tried to lose them this morning it’s impossible.”
“We could try at night, They don’t sleep with you, do they?” Daphne suggested. “Your window is not way far off the ground.”
“Woah Daphne taking risks? Who is shes?” Blaise teased.
“Shut up Blaise.”
-----------------
They all stood by the window staring at the ground below.
“I don’t think we’d die.” Daphne said shrugging.
“I’m the one that they wont let leave, the both of you can just leave through the main gate.”
“Where’s the fun in that.” Blaise said with a wide grin.
Draco gulped as he looked down at the fall from the window. Luckily he wasn’t too high in the castle. The castle was perched on the top of a forestry hill so if they landed too far out they might just roll into the trees.
“Fine I’ll go first if your too scared.” Blaise said, he stuck his legs out the window first, slowly shimmying his body through without letting go of the edge until he was barely holding on and he let himself go.
Draco and Daphne ran up to the window to see Blaise laying on the ground below giving them a thumbs up. Daphne laughed before following Blaise out the window.
“Your turn Prince.”Draco huffed as he slowly lowered himself out the window. As he was half way out he saw the door knob jiggle.
“shit.” He said quickly letting go and falling on his back.
“See it’s not that bad.” Daphne said standing above him.
“Speak for yourself.” He groaned at the pain .
“We should probably go.” Blaise said. He hoped that whoever had tried getting into his room had given up, if not he would only get in more trouble. He wouldn’t be surprised if Lucius threw him in one of the towers.
They trudged through the forest.
“When do we reach a road.” Blaise groaned.
“Soon, I think.” Draco said, he wasn’t actually sure he was just working off the memory of the map he had in his room.
“You think?” Daphne huffed raising her skirt to keep it out of the mud.
“When are you going to tell her.” Blaise said. Draco honestly didn’t know, he hated lying to her. He would tell her.
“Soon.” He said they both nodded in understanding.
“If I were you I wouldn’t hide the whole prince thing, I bet it drives the ladies crazy.”
----------------
Draco stood outside her house throwing pebbles at your window. He grinned wildly seeing you through the window as you opened it.
“Hey I’ll be right down.” She whisper yelled.
“She’s pretty.” Daphne said. She was right, even in her night gown she was still the prettiest girl he’s ever seen.
“Hi my Love.” Draco said kissing her when he saw her.
“Hi Norman .” She said pulling back.
“I’m Miriam, D-” Blaise elbows Daphne before she could continue.
“Julian has told me all about you.” She corrected herself before glaring at Blaise.
“Its great to meet you.” Y/N said smiling.
The four of them got along greatly and they spent the night walking the town. The three nobles had to keep a low profile and kept themselves covered but y/n didn’t seem to mind.
Draco told himself he would tell her but he always convinced himself that next time he would. He kept wearing intentionally ridiculous hats that always made you laugh. He also realized he would do anything to hear you laugh, the sound was angelic to him.
Suprisingly he hadn’t gotten caught sneaking out yet, they would always leave after dinner. He was on his way to his room to discretely sneak out when his father stopped him.
“You Grandfather is dead.” Draco felt a chill down his spine not necessarily at what Lucius had said but at the grin his father wore, almost as if he was happy.
“I’m sorry.” Draco didn’t know his grandfather very well but he imagined Lucius had some sort of attatchment to him, being his son and all.
“For what, tomorrow I’ll be king.” Lucius still had that wicked grin that unsettled Draco. Becoming like his father was easily Draco’s biggest fear, he never wanted to be king himself but he knew he would be a better king then his father.
Draco remaines silent so his father continued for him. “Imagine tomorrow I will be crowned infront of the whole kingdom, you and your mother at my side.” Lucius took a great breath before leaving Draco in the hall.
“We heard about your grandfather .” Blaise said turning the corner with Daphne in stride.
“So sorry for your loss Draco.” Daphne said giving him a comforting smile.
“Thanks, but im not really worried about that.” Draco said running his hand through his hair.
“Shit. You’re going to have to tell her.” Blaise said eyes widening
“I think this is good, your big reveal is long over due.” Draco knew Daphne had a point but he was still dreading having to tell her.
“Thanks Daphne, I feel way better now.” Draco drawled sarcastically .
“As much as we’d love to see this unfold, I think you better go by yourself for this.” Blaise said.
“Yeah I know.” Draco sighed.
If Y/N was going to dump him it might as well be in private. He wouldn’t be able to handle his friends pity.
“She adores you Draco, I’m sure it will be fine.” Daphne said trying to comfort him.
“For my sake I hope you’re right.”
“I’m always right.” Daphne and Blaise shot Draco one last supportive smile before making their way back through the castle.
Draco huffed one last time before heading back to his room.

Hello so I found out requests were open and I got super excited. Anyway can I please request a chronostasis x reader where the reader is actually in love with overhaul and just pretends to love chrono and in the end he/she breaks up with him and goes to overhaul or they find out overhauls true colors and doesn’t want to be with him anymore so they just focus on chrono more
Damn, reader be going all over the place. Im so glad someone ask for chrono. I love him. He’s a beautiful being.
================================================
Title: Back and Forth
Chronostasis x Reader
Warnings: Angst, fluff, and implied sexual references (not alot of that thoug)
================================================
You were sitting on the edge of your bed as you looked at the carpeted floor beneath you. Breathing heavily as you can’t stop thinking about the man who took your breath away. Chisaki Kai.
“Im a horrible girlfriend.” You place your hands on your face and sigh into them. You weren’t even in a relationship with Chisaki but you couldn’t help looking at him every chance you got.
You felt so guilty, since you were in a relationship with his best friend! You were Chrono’s girlfriend and if he found out he would be heartbroken!
Right?
It was no secret that both of you had been drifting apart the last few months. Which is probably why you grew feelings for his boss in the first place. Chrono barely came by anymore, barely ever said i loved you and was always busy with work.
You did understand that he was willing to follow his best friend to the ends of the earth but..what about you? I mean, you remembered everything about him. His favorite color, his birthday, his favorite food, pretty much everything. But when your birthday rolled around your so called boyfriend was no where to be seen.
Even though that was awhile ago it still hurt you. You felt like you kept giving him second chances. It was starting to get annoying to say the least.
‘i shouldn’t feel guilty. I mean it seems like he does’t even care anymore’ You thought to yourself. You let out a sigh as you get up from your spot on the bed and walk over to the bathroom. You grabbed all your clothes that you needed and went to take a shower.
‘I’ll go see what Chisaki is up to maybe i can watch him for a bit. Who knows?’ You smile to yourself as you hurry up and turn the water on.
================================================
“You know Chrono, I’ve noticed that you and (y/n) have been slowly drifting apart. Haven’t you noticed?” Mimic said to the masked man looking up at him.
“Really? I think were doing fine.”
“I’m just saying to watch out. I’m just worried she’s gonna leave you man. I’ve seen Chisaki give her some looks, or it could just be me.” Mimic said finally before looking at Chrono.
“Wish you the best of luck man.” Mimic walked away right after that leaving the arrow headed male alone.
‘Mimic doesn’t know what he’s talking about. We still have a connection-’ Chrono was pulled out of his thoughts when he heard your giggling coming from Chisaki’s office. His mind went straight to what Mimic said and rushed over there and before he could slam the door open, he listened to your conversations.
“Haha yeah....hey Chisaki can i talk to you about something? It’s about Hari.”
‘What about me?’
“Fire away.”
“Im beginning to think he doesn’t love me anymore. I mean he’s never around me anymore, and anytime he has free time off he wants to be by himself. I know i shouldn’t think this but my mind can’t help to wonder off to the worse case scenario’s.” He noticed a shift in your usual happy tone.
“Well that such a shame, that you feel so alone that you can’t talk to Hari about this. How about you come back to my office tomorrow and we can talk over a game of Shogi?”
“Sure! At least i feel like i have someone to talk to! But still, i feel like breaking up with him. Like i said it doesn’t even seems like he’s trying in the relationship anymore.” So that’s how you truly feel? You feel so alone that you went to talk to his best friend instead of him. Maybe Mimic was right. Now that he’s been thinking about it he has noticed that he has been lacking in the attention department of you relationship. He lets out a soft sigh before heading to your room and falling backwards onto the bed.
Chrono looks up at the ceiling as he takes his mask off and sets it to the side. Looking up at the digital clock by your bed seeing it was close to midnight. Sighing he takes a shower.
“Oh Hari left his mask here. I should probably return it to him.” He jumped as he heard your voice from the other side of the door.
“I’m in the shower!” He yelled out to you, hoping to get some sort of response.
“Okay.” You replied with a bland answer.
================================================
The next day
“Hey Hari i need to talk to you, its....important...” You called out to your soon to be ex. You thought about it long and hard and come to the conclusion that maybe it was for the best that you two broke up. It was a miracle he even slept in the same room with you that night. Nothing intimate happened just went to bed pretty much.
“Yeah w-what is it?” Hari stuttered on his words. He was secretly hoping that you weren’t going to break up with him. Especially not for his boss. He wouldn’t know what to do if that was the case.
“I-I think we s-should break up.” Fuck. He was right you were breaking up with him. God damnit. He should’ve seen the signs that you were unhappy now your leaving him because of it.
“W-why?” He knew why but those words couldn’t help but fall from his mouth.
“Because your always at work, and when your not you barely ever come to hang out with me anymore! It’s like im invisible or not even needed in your life!” You cried out as tears formed on your face.
“....”
“Im gonna go....see you later Kurono.”
Chrono couldn’t do anything all he could do was stand there. Looking at your silhouette as you disappeared out of the base.
“You’ll see Kai for what he truly is soon enough...”
================================================
2 weeks after the breakup
“Hey Chisaki! Fancy seeing you here!” You said as you smiled up at him.
“Ah (y/n) its always a pleasure.”
“What are you doing?”
“Oh....just walking around.” You noticed how his tone changed for a second.
“Dear (y/n) would you like to hang out sometime to play shogi?” Damn my man really likes Shogi.
“Sure! It’s just gonna be awkward seeing Chrono after two weeks...”
“Ah yes i’ve heard that you broke up. Very sorry to hear that....”
================================================
2 months after break up
You had begun to hang out with Chisaki more but you couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling you slowly had developed spending so much time with him. It was the kind of feeling that made you want to shrink in a hole.
You always caught him slipping on his good guy act, slowly but surely letting out his inner demons. Something that you didn’t want apart of. So you slowly distanced yourself from him and caught yourself losing feelings quickly.
You saw how he treated Chrono and his other loyal employee’s and to be honest it pissed you off. They were working their ass off to please you, and you still treat them like their nothing?
‘Maybe breaking it off with Chrono was a bad idea..’ You thought to yourself as your mind wondered off to Hari again. You let out a sigh before looking around the base. Chisaki said that you could come and go as you pleased, but take a shower right away as soon as you got in.
Damn his Mysophobia
You looked around as you sat in what they called the ‘living room’. You saw Hari talking to Chisaki and you couldn’t help but notice that Hari looked more...buff? No...he was always strong but he looked like he hit the gym more often. Due to this new revelation you couldn’t help your wandering eyes as you were glued to Hari’s form. In other words checking him out. You had unintentional licked your lips as you continued to bask in Hari’s appearance.
Util his head snapped at you.
You squeak and turn your head quickly to the side as your entire face turned red, embarresssed at the fact you had been caught checking your ex out. Your eyes which you have snapped shut took a peak and saw that he wasn’t where he use to be standing.
“Ugh i can’t believe i got caught checking him out...ugggghhhhh. He had to be going to the gym! Why couldn’t i stop staring at him. God damn you Hari for being so gorgeous.” You let out a groan in frustration as you placed your hands on your face.
Little did you know that a certain someone was hiding behind the wall snickering as he heard you.
================================================
1 month later
You slowly distanced yourself from Chisaki as the feelings you had for him long gone after you saw the way he treated Hari. You would never admit it but the thought of being in his arms once more soothed you but you knew that he would never take you back after trying to get with his best friend.
You walked the compound halls as you made your way to your once shared room with Hari. You had forgotten something awhile ago and went to pick it up. You mentally prayed he wouldn’t be there but of course to your luck as soon as you opened the door a shirtless Hari was standing in front of you.
You yelped as you tried to shut the door before you were caught in two strong arms trapping you.
“H-Hari?! What are you doing?!” You squeaked out as you felt his grip around your waist tighten. You felt his hot breath on your neck as tiny kisses were placed on your neck effectively making you whimper. Hari only snickered as he nibbled your earlobe before huskily whispering in you ear,
“Taking back what’s mine.” Was the last hing he said before he dragged you to the bed.

Demon’s Souls || 2020 Notes [1]
Tumblr media
While replaying Demon’s Souls I thought it’d be fun to describe some of its special qualities and certain differences between it and the Dark Souls series. The latter has almost completely overshadowed the former, to the extent that the first Dark Souls is often treated as the starting point for FromSoftware’s post-PlayStation 2 output, so it is now arguably more worthwhile than ever before to, you know... acknowledge Demon’s Souls’ existence.
• It is a little ironic that the visually darkest of the Souls games is not any of the ones with “Dark” in their title; it is, in fact, Demon’s Souls. Demon’s is full of spaces with utter or near-utter blackness, spaces which only reveal their structural character until you’re a step away from a wall or colonnade. This is an exciting quality on its own, one that makes the areas you’re navigating retain a sublimely threatening aspect separate from that of the mortal threats the enemies pose, and it becomes especially exciting when comparing it to Dark Souls 3′s inappropriate brightness on even its lowest lighting setting.
• Relatedly, Demon’s Souls is the only one of these games which bothers to explain your character’s illuminative capability: a small, brightly glowing stone (perhaps a good luck charm and a practical item) is attached to their hip. Dark Souls 2 and 3 and Bloodborne allow torches to be used (Bloodborne, too, a lantern), but your avatars otherwise exude an inexplicable light.
• The Dark Souls series represents a break from Demon’s Souls’ level design not just by way of its variously realized interconnectivity but also by distancing itself from constricted meandering layouts. Although Demon’s Souls’ areas are organizationally diverse -- one couldn’t be mistaken for another --, there are pervasive architectural motifs such as halls no wider then your person, slim towers or verticalities with staircases or planks tightly winding up and down the walls, and bits where you can miss a thin portal or doorway by not swiveling the camera around your entire immediate surroundings. This is, perhaps, one consequence of differing staff on level design and of Demon’s Souls’ adjacency to the King’s Field series.
• I’ve written before about how adventurous Demon’s Souls is with its boss fights, and I’ll write about it again! Oftener than not, bosses’ rooms are extensions of the preceding level design, rather than stripped down, isolated rings. Think of the church wherein the False Idol appears: this is a struggle where offensive tactics assume equal importance to weaving around the obstructing pews and hiding from magical projectiles among the side aisles. For this trend, we might be able to partly thank a lack of confidence in the mechanics sustaining head-on, arena-based fights. It is also notable that a number of bosses have fairly passive designs (e.g., Phalanx, Adjudicator, Storm King, Maiden Astraea, the Dragon God in its final phase, or King Allant). Opponents can be vulnerable and pitiable, creating an emotional variety and accentuating the narrative of us being the “demon” in the game’s title.
• Demon’s Souls doesn’t allow you to access the Nexus, the game proper, without firsthand experiencing your own death. Dark Souls shows your person as having already hollowed; Dark Souls 2 marks your entry into Drangleic with a cinematic wherein you pass through the threshold of a vortex; Dark Souls 3 shows you rising from your grave. Bloodborne may be the closest to Demon’s Souls: most of us will have likely died our first before coming across a lamp, and thus will be introduced to the Hunter’s Dream -- Bloodborne’s home base -- by death; but this is still unlike Demon’s Souls, which establishes a significantly fatalistic atmosphere with this moment of utter requisition.
• With its visuals’ technical effects (e.g., the warm, distinct halos surrounding candles’ flames), the muted palettes, and the plain attire of other characters and architecture -- often severe, and lacking any ornamentation or just minimally articulated -- Demon’s Souls recalls King’s Field IV. Monolithic sites and structures can impress a domineeringly absolutist effect by their scale and degree of aesthetic anonymity/repetition, and Demon’s Souls’ architecture utilizes this effect in places like Stonefang Tunnel, the Tower of Latria, and the Boletarian complex to create a world capable as much of intimidating as it is of suggesting monomaniacal psychologies and historical dramas.
• Demon’s Souls has the unique, relative to the Dark Souls titles and Bloodborne, contextual mechanic whereby your person can mount a higher tier if you continue walking against the designated rise in terrain. Fall damage is also drastically slight, so you can fall farther distances and survive. To me, these two particularities create a subtly broader sense of exploratory possibility that you don’t get in FromSoftware’s later Eurocentric games, despite Dark Souls’ addition of a running jump mechanic. This sense of possibility is not proportional to what you can actually do; rather, it is about what you feel that the game might allow you to do.
• For a miscellaneous conclusive entry: I went through the 2009 reviews for Demon’s Souls on Amazon a while back to see what English-speaking/writing people were comparing it to. Nowadays, we have the bland, readymade term “Souls-like”, but, a decade and several months ago, Demon’s Souls seemed to many people outside of Japan to have come out of nowhere, making their likenings interesting to read (of note, too: even among the 800+ reviews, spanning from 2009 to 2020, King’s Field is mentioned less than ten times). I recognize that the image is blurry, and have, for accessibility, written the selected quotes out below.
Tumblr media
This game strikes out to be a bit of a throwback 1980s style RPG in both difficulty and handholding (or lack thereof). If you played and enjoyed the original Wizardrys, Ultimas, and AD&D *Gold Box* games, this is your ride. This game was designed for you.
This game is not hack n’ slash. I repeat, NOT HACK N’ SLASH. Those of you expecting a game like Diablo 2 or God of War will probably be a little confused when you are getting destroyed by every little puny enemy in game.
I like this game, but I wanted to love it. I was hesitant to own it because I am a little old for hardcore games that everyone praises for their difficulty, but I was persuaded to try it because of fond memories of a wonderfully difficult combat RPG called Severance Blade of Darkness. Unable to find a rental I bought it. Sadly, I think this game does not measure up to the reviews.
The RPG system of Demon’s Souls is quite reminiscent of Vagrant Story’s, allowing players to increases stats and equipment as they like, without following a set path. You must choose a particular class to begin, but you can then develop however you like. It is entirely possible to start as a barbarian and become a mage, or choose to spread your stats equally. The path you choose will, however, have a drastic effect on how the game is played.
This Demons Souls has definately redefined a “HARD” game. Reminds me of the game ICO, yet makes me feel that Im actually there. You may die alot, but each time you do, it is always your fault. I mean this in the literal sense. No more button mashing.
Some people may compare the toughness to games like the Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden series, but in my view, although it may be as tough, it’s in a very different way. Whereas with DMC or NG you had to wide awake and really on top of things to both enjoy it and actually get anywhere, I find it’s actually possible to play Demon’s Souls while half asleep. DS is more about being careful and not entering an area until you’re absolutely sure your character is completely prepared.
1st: this game is very much like a modernized old nintendo game, for better & worse. I would liken it even to Deadly Towers(gasp!), but I mean that in the good way. You’re dropped in an extremely difficult gameworld with almost no introduction, you’re character starts out very weak and you need to explore (carefully!) to find some loot that will begin to make you stronger.
Gameplay: It’s hard to describe Demon’s Souls since it feels like something you’ve played before yet you couldn’t think of it if you tried. Essentially imagine the 3rd person swordplay of Oblivion, world traversing of Zelda and RPG elements of pretty much every one you’ve tried in the past 10 years.

Tumblr media
It didn’t feel right. No matter what you did, or how you moved the existing items around, it just didn’t feel right. Going on two years of living at the bunker with what Dean had deemed Team Free Will 2.0, you began to realize just how drab you seemed to feel in your given room. While the golden numbers adoring the door, addressing it as room 17, were always a welcoming sight after a long hunt, you couldn’t help but want… more from the interior.
Sure, you had your fair share of sentimental objects. Your guns and knives were displayed proudly on one wall, always well within reach and easy to dismount if the need to use them arose, which it so often seemed to do. A few pictures cataloging your travels with the boys littered the space, along with your notebooks and other hunting materials scattered about. This was nice, and offered a great reminder that this place was where you slept, but it still didn’t feel right. It didn’t feel like home.
You lay on your back, arms and legs spread out like a starfish pondering this exact idea the day that the bunker’s resident Nephilim, Jack Kline, decided to pay you a visit. Your door was already open, but he made a point to stop at the threshold and tap his knuckles against the wooden slab to alert you of his presence. “(Y/N)?” He called to you in question. You made no move to get up, and simply let out a low hum in response. The sound of shuffling footsteps grew ever closer. “Are you alright?”
A sigh escaped your lips at this query. Now, how were you meant to respond to that? Were you okay? In theory, perhaps you were doing just fine, but this answer just didn’t seem to suffice for your mind. So, instead, in a rash decision making moment, you blurted out a simple, “no.”
This seemed to be the wrong answer. Hardly a moment passed before Jack was pulling you up into a sitting position, his eyes wide in panic as they scanned you for any visible injuries. “What’s wrong? What’s happened? How can I help? I want to help, let me fix it!” He blubbered on without end. His hands pressed against your cheeks and he turned your head every which way in an attempt to spot the problem.
“Jack,” you tried. He continued on. “Jack,” a bit louder this time. His voice grew in volume as well, incoherent gibberish of worry at this point. “Jack!”
Finally, he froze in place. Then, within a moment’s notice, his hands were gone from your skin, and a fresh blush swept up his neck and along his cheeks. “I’m sorry,” he muttered. “I meant to say, uhm, what’s wrong? And… how can I help?”
You furiously fought against the smile tugging at your lips, but in the end your expression won out. A bright grin plastered itself across your face. “I’m actually okay, Jack. You don’t have to worry about anything, alright? I’m okay,” you reassured the nephilim. Even still, his crystalline sapphire gaze ran along your skin in a fervor.
“You’re sad.” This wasn’t even a question, but instead a statement of fact.
“I wouldn’t necessarily say I’m sad, per se,” you tried to ease his tension somewhat. The celestial being was having none of this, and swiftly caught on to the ambiguity of your words.
“But you’re not happy.”
Your nose wrinkled in thought. The nephilim was smarter than he ever dared to let on, and definitely more observant than your fellow housemates saw him for. “I’ll be okay, Jack. I’m just thinking, is all.”
The boy pulled his legs up onto the bed, crossing his legs over each other criss cross style to face you fully. Comfy sweatpants covered his legs and a soft knitted sweater adorned his torso. Even in the summer months, the bunker could be quite cold, and there was only one reason that you never asked Dean to turn the heating up. As long as the air retains its usual chill, you get the pleasure of seeing a comfortably soft Jack Kline all year round.
Jack reached down and plucked carefully at the fabric of your comforter. A scowl formed on your face at the sight of the thing. It was the same tan sheet that adorned the beds in most every bedroom. It wasn’t special. It wasn’t yours. This room wasn’t yours. Everything was just a constant reminder of that fact.
You had to say, you truly envied the brothers’ abilities to cope in an environment that was so out of your comfort zone. Sam, though you know he had started out his time at the bunker in denial that it would ever become his home, had come around in previous years and began adding personal touches to his own space. The television was an important part of his room, usually playing some of his favorite movies or the local news station to stay updated on current happenings. His favorite books lay scattered on every conceivable surface. Room twenty-one was Sam’s and only Sam’s. Dean’s room held even more of his own personal touches. From the stereo concealing a hefty collection of vinyl records underneath it to the guns adorning the wall to even the countless family photos both taped to his walls and leaning haphazardly against various objects on his desk, room number eleven was undoubtedly the home of one Dean Winchester.
But room seventeen? It could belong to just about anyone. You had hardly changed a thing since moving in. Most of the room remained in the same pristine state the Men of Letters had left it in all those years ago. It might as well be some random hotel room, capable of housing just about anybody at any time. It wasn’t yours.
“Jack,” you spoke up suddenly, your mind set. The nephilim peered up at you in question. “Do you want to go into town with me?”
The boy’s brows furrowed in confusion, but he nodded all the same. “Can I ask why?”
Turning to the boy, you cast him a smile. “I’ve gotta make this house a home,” you hummed. Glee dripped from your words at the prospect of finally doing this. You were finally going to make this room your own, and no Winchesters were going to stop you.
-
Sam and Dean let the pair of you go relatively easily. That is, Dean ceased his interrogation once you assured him that you weren’t taking the Impala, driving the point home by jingling the pair of keys in your hand: keys that undoubtedly belonged to the ‘67 Ford Mustang you had brought back to the bunker after having fallen in love with the thing on a hunting trip to an old used car lot. You pocketed some cash and a couple of fraudulent credit cards, and you were on your way.
“So,” Jack began as he buckled the seat belt around his waist, “what exactly are we doing?”
Fair enough question. You hadn’t actually said your plan out loud. Jack was simply excited to spend time outside of the bunker (plus, the fact that it was with you was a real bonus in his eyes). You began to explain as you revved the engine to the old muscle car. “My room is just so… drab, you know? I want to make it feel more like home. So, you and I are going shopping!” The boys eyes lit up at this. “We’re going to go out and find some decorations and maybe we’ll paint the walls and everything. It’s gonna be fun!”
His feet shuffled in excitement. You had a feeling that, had you the ability to see into the boy’s mind, you would see a flurry of thoughts about how he had never been shopping for decorations and renovations before. That much would be true. The hunter’s life didn’t have much time for simple pleasures, so the fact that you were able to give Jack this little glimpse into a normal life sent your heart aflutter.
The ride into town felt shorter than usual, likely to do with the company you kept and your own choice of music permeating the air. Jack’s head bobbed along with the beat of the song flowing from the radio. Your hands smacked in tandem against the steering wheel, which the nephilim quickly likened to the eldest Winchester’s own driving habits. You poked your tongue out at Jack in retaliation, reaching out to turn the volume up to block his words out.
Shopping with Jack was more fun than you could have even imagined it would be. He had such a wonderful reaction to every new thing he experienced, and it was clear that he wanted to soak in every aspect of human culture he possibly could. He was practically bouncing on his heels by the time you made it to the lighting section of the local hardware store. The way the seemingly endless aisle of lamps and lighting fixtures reflected in his irises made it difficult to maintain a casual facade, and you soon found yourself reaching out and grabbing his hand as you made your way through the store. This was normal as ever to the boy, who gripped your hand back just as eagerly and tugged you towards the mirror section.
Choosing a paint color was quite an adventure as well. Jack took this entire ordeal very seriously, especially after you explained to him how your current living situation made you feel. The discomfort you described was utterly unacceptable in his eyes. If a new coat of paint on your walls could alleviate that feeling and make you feel more at home, then the boy was going to do his best to make it the best paint color you had ever seen. That’s why you ended up standing in front of the display of paint swatches for around an hour before he finally allowed you to make a decision. It was all worth it in the end, especially once the paint mixer buzzed to life and Jack’s soft gasp sounded from by your side. He didn’t stop talking about how pretty the colors blending together was on the whole car ride to your next stop.
Item after item got checked off the list inside your mind. Picture frames, a new comforter, fresh pillow cases, professionally printed photos of yourself and the rest of the team, wall art, a soft new rug, little desk ornaments, and basically anything that popped into your mind that would make the space feel more like you. Jack even took it upon himself to buy you both matching art pieces, claiming that he wanted to have a piece of you in his own room to make sure you always felt like you were together. It took all of your willpower not to tear up as he happily placed the framed photos into the shopping cart.
You arrived back at the bunker just as the last rays of daylight peeked out above the horizon. Jack, of course, insisted on carrying as many shopping bags as he could possibly fit on his arms. He was half angel, he reminded you, therefore weight wasn’t a big deal whatsoever. This made the unpacking process relatively simple, especially once you walked past Sam and Dean and the pair begrudgingly stood up and shuffled through the halls to follow you into the garage and help you with the rest of the bags.
“What’s all this for?” Dean’s voice called with a grunt as he readjusted his hold on the box containing your new nightstand.
You twirled around on your heels so you were walking backwards down the hallway, now facing Dean and Sam. “I decided my room was too… blah. Not enough me, not enough like a home. So, Jack and I went out and bought some stuff and we’re going to redo it! Painting the walls, new furniture, new pictures, the whole shabang. You guys wanna help?” You beamed at the pair of brothers. They shared a questioning look with each other, both shrugging before turning to you and agreeing.
“Where’d you get the money, anyways?” Sam queried with a furrowed brow. You turned back around and cleared your throat in a bit of an awkward fashion.
“I might’ve… stolen a couple of debit cards. And also a little credit card fraud. But it’s okay! Because when are we ever really gonna go back to those stores anyways, right?” You passed it off with a chuckle. The beginnings of an argument about how we don’t do credit card fraud this close to home and if you need to spend money in town then at least get the money legally arose from behind you, but it was too late. In a split second you picked up the pace and dashed off down the corridor towards your own room.
-
“No, no no no, not like that,” Dean corrected, reaching out and grabbing the paint roller from Jack’s hand. Only moments prior, the boy had tried to repeatedly press the cylinder against the wall in an attempt to apply the paint. This resulted in a small patch of globular paint right smack in the center of your wall. Your hand pressed firmly against your mouth in an attempt to fight back your laughter.
“I’ve never done this before,” Jack muttered in protest, his cheeks a bright crimson red due to his clear embarrassment. He peered over his shoulder at you, causing you to force back your amusement and offer him an encouraging smile.
“Okay, just… like this. Roll the paint on. That way it’ll be even, alright?” Dean demonstrated how to roll the paint onto the surface properly for a few strokes before offering the roller to the nephilim once again. Jack took the item with a newfound desire to do this right, and he continued to paint the wall in exactly the way that Dean displayed.
Sam emerged from the hallway empty handed, having just arrived back from wherever he decided to put your belongings while you started your renovations. At the moment, the entire room lay barren and empty, save for the paint cans and plastic lining protecting the floor from rogue paint. A thin layer of sweat made the taller brother’s hair lay flat against his forehead. He had done most of the heavy lifting so far. You found this amusing, seeing as Jack’s outlook on carrying heavy items seemed to change so drastically over the past hour or so. It occurred to you that it likely wasn’t the action itself that changed his mind, but perhaps there was an ulterior motive behind his kindness with you. The thought alone made you smile to yourself.
“You’re doing great, Jack!” Sam praised the boy, causing him to perk up significantly. Jack flashed a bright smile as he continued to work.
Painting didn’t take quite as long as you expected. With the extra two pairs of hands, that meant each of you only had to focus on one wall. Soon enough, the walls were completely coated in your chosen color, and it was time to let them dry. You all took a break to eat dinner, which was filled with conversation about what you wanted your room to look like once it was complete. By the time you finished eating, the paint was dry and you were ready to move everything in.
Strangely enough, Dean seemed to be the most hellbent on getting the “look” just right. Jack listened to whatever you said and wanted to a T, and Sam leisurely nodded and complied with your wishes as well. Dean, however, seemed to have a vision of sorts. Each time you explained your idea, he would interrupt you with a pitch for a completely different idea. Some worked, and you actually quite liked, others you ended up shooting down immediately.
You worked all through the night, sharing stories and jokes as you went along. None of you seemed to feel the effects of the all nighter you ended up pulling. The atmosphere seemed too perfect to destroy with even a single yawn or complaint. At one point, as you and Jack worked on putting your new sheets onto your old bed, you couldn’t help but grab one of the pillows and toss it at the back of Dean’s head. Sam seemed to hold back his laughter to the best of his ability as his brother turned around with an all-too-serious look in his eyes. Within seconds, the eldest hunter grabbed the pillow from the floor and leapt up, charging at you with the fluff filled item held over his shoulder in preparation. A screech left your lips, and you bounded over the half made bed to cower behind Jack. And that was how not only Jack’s first pillow fight, but the first ever pillow fight in the bunker began.
Your phone screen read 5:02 AM by the time you put the last touches on the space. One last flattening of the comforter, a quick check that the pictures on your desk were turned just so, and the final addition: a gun tucked carefully underneath your pillow. That was all it took for your room to be complete. You turned to the brothers and pulled them both into a hug. You expressed your true gratitude for their willingness to help you at such short notice, and for such a long period of time. Dean insisted that you owed him a new flannel for the fact that a splotch of paint was now visible on the fabric of the one he was wearing, but he retained his easy going smile all the same. Sam wrapped his arms around you and gave you a comforting squeeze, reminding you that he would always be there if you needed him for anything. And with that, they bid you adieu.
That left just you and Jack in your newly completed room. You made your way over to your reclaimed bed and flopped down on your back, a soft smile adorning your face. A few seconds passed, and you peered over to where Jack still stood, simply watching you in wonder. You offered him a smile and patted the space next to you. He wasted no time as he, too, lay down atop the new sheets. A moment’s silence overtook you both, but it was far from uncomfortable. It felt like more of a mutual understanding. Like nothing need be said, because everything was already understood.
In a moment of surging self confidence, you reached over and grabbed his hand in your own. Your fingers laced together out of pure instinct. Just like back in the store, he reciprocated the affection immediately, even giving your hand a quick squeeze to show that this was okay.
“Thank you,” you whispered into the tranquil atmosphere. The shuffle of fabric let you know that Jack had readjusted his position to be facing you without needed to see him at all.
“For what?” He asked you, his voice carrying the same soft tone as yours. He, too, clearly sensed the importance of this moment, and what it meant in the grand scheme of a hunter’s life. Moments like this don’t exist for hunters. Lives like this aren’t possible. But maybe, for just one second, you can pretend. Maybe you can pretend that this is a home, and that this is possible. Maybe you can pretend that your life can have something this good in it.
“For everything, really,” you began quite simply. You gazed blankly up at the empty expanse of your ceiling, wondering if Dean would ever let you live it down if you decided to put up those little glow in the dark stars. “I haven’t felt like this was my own space for… so long. It’s always felt like I’m just a guest, and that this is temporary. I keep waiting to have to pack up and leave for the next place. I even started avoiding this room altogether just so I didn’t have to face that feeling anymore. But after today?” You finally turned your head to look at the nephilim, only to find him gazing at you already with a look of pure awe. “You changed that, Jack. You helped me to make this something I can be proud of. I can feel comfortable and safe here, now. And I don’t think I would’ve taken that leap if I didn’t have you by my side.”
Slowly, the boy’s lips began to turn up into a smile. It wasn’t the smile he had been flashing all night. It wasn’t a bright, blindingly overjoyed grin that seemed to always split his face in half and fill the room with light. No, this smile was different. This smile was soft, and it carried the weight of everything the pair of you weren’t sure you should say. It was all you needed to see, and you let your head fall back down onto the soft sheets beneath you.
The silence stretched on, but it didn’t matter. No words needed to be said for you to realize what you learned that morning, just as the sun began to color the sky a soft pink and the birds awoke with their song. This was a home, and it was your home. This was not temporary. This was your family. And this wasn’t pretending. You deserve the happiness and the love of that moment, basking in the relief of finding where you belong. You had found the good you needed, and you were going to hold onto it for as long as you possibly could.

Trouble
SUMMARY: Everybody knew Na Jaemin was trouble. Even his parents knew that was why he was sent to a school for delinquent in the country side. Enter you, a naïve born and raised country girl who believed that everyone had a sliver of good in their heart until you met Jaemin.
GENRE: Angst
PAIRING: Jaemin and Reader
NOTE(S): This is going to be a tough one to write since Na Jaemin is an actual angel sent by the heavens in this world and by no means like his character in this story. There will be mentions of underage drinking, smoking, drug use and abuse in this story so please if you are sensitive to those topics then I highly suggest you do not proceed. Thank you!

The rain was pouring heavily just as you were on your way home from a volunteer work at the local daycare of your town. Fortunately, you brought an umbrella with you but it wasn’t that much of a help since your clothes were still getting soaked by the harsh wind that accompanied the rain. It was always like this in your hometown, Yeodo. When it rained, it rained heavily and when it was sunny, the heat was almost unbearable. You were used to it, though, since you were born and raised in Yeodo.
Yeodo was a small island with about three hundred residents mostly elderly. The main source of income for many household was through farming and fishing. Yeodo was mostly known to many as that—a small island with farming and fishing as the main source of income but not a lot know that Yeodo was also the place where local governments from Seoul, Busan, Daegu and other major cities of the country send teenage delinquents for rehabilitation. At least twice every month, a ship comes and dozens of teenage boys and girls were sent to the old park turned rehabilitation center for the program. Your mother was an employee there and she taught technical and vocational subjects such as dressmaking, flower arrangement and beauty and hair. Meanwhile, your father was a Math teacher who also served as the guidance counselor and once in a while, he also taught car mechanics and repair as an elective. When you entered high school, you started volunteering at the rehabilitation center as one of the substitute art and music teacher for those under the age of fourteen alongside your best friend Huang Renjun.
Most of the kids sent to Yeodo were arrested due to multiple offenses such as continuous vandalizing, theft and public disturbance. There weren’t any serious offense until Na Jaemin arrived. His record was unlike anything you had heard and he was the talk of the town the moment his run-ins with the law were spread throughout the town and mind you, it spreaded out rapidly. He was from Seoul, a nineteen year-old who came from a prominent and wealthy background. The record didn’t say who his parents were to protect their reputation so people assumed his family must be one of those chaebols. His first run-in with the law was vandalizing a bus stop when he was only fourteen. Then, his run-ins just became worse and worse as he grew older. From petty vandalizing to drug dealing, supplying and usage to gang-related activities. So yes, Na Jaemin definitely stood out among the rest of the kids who were sent to Yeodo for rehabilitation that month.
The first time you saw Na Jaemin was when you were delivering the milk one of the eldery, Mrs. Im, asked you to give to the local daycare. As you arrived, you noticed a hooded figure spray painting on the gates of the daycare. You moved your bicycle off the street and walked over to where the figure was, arms crossed over your chest and a frown etched upon your face. “Excuse me but what are you doing?” You asked.
The figure looked at you—it was him, the infamous Na Jaemin. He was wearing an all black outfit, causing his pink hair to stand out. “What does it look like I’m doing?” He asked you back as he pulled his face mask down, letting it rest on his chin.
“You’re vandalizing a daycare. That is wrong and pretty sure, illegal.” You told him, as a matter-of-fact.
He hummed in response. “I wouldn’t say ‘vandalizing’ rather ‘expressing’ and ‘giving life’. You say this is a daycare? Why the fuck is it so bland then?” He chuckled as he continued on spray painting the gates.
You coughed at the smell but approached him anyways. You were about to tell him off and threaten him by calling the rehabilitation center where he should at when your eyes landed on the image, rather images, you saw painted on the gates. The first thing you saw was the artistically written ‘Welcome to Yeodo Daycare!’ on the very top then your eyes wandered around the various images of children playing and smiling, playing sports and music. On the corner down below, you saw a sentence, ‘Keep on dreaming and don’t let others dictate what your dream should be. Stay in school. NJ.’ You looked up to compliment Jaemin’s work but he was already gone along with his spray paints.

When you arrived home, you quickly took a hot shower got dressed into a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie over one of your old T-shirt that surprisingly still fit you. Your parents were out helping with the planning for the upcoming village fiesta so you got the entire house to yourself since you were an only child. You thought about inviting Renjun over but the rain was still pouring heavily and you didn’t want him to get soaked since he gets sick easily. So, instead, you decided to watch a movie instead. You chose through the rack of DVDs under the television and settled with the first film in the Harry Potter series, The Sorcerer’s Stone. You set the movie up and paused it as you prepared snacks. Once you were finished, preparing your snacks, you made your way back into the living room but something, or rather someone, caught your eyes outside of your house through the window.
It was Jaemin. You could tell because he was the only one in Yeodo who had pink hair. You moved closer towards the window as you watched him. He was limping, holding his side. A frown drew on your face, he’s gotten into trouble again? Ever since Jaemin got to Yeodo and started his rehabilitation program, it was clear that he was a hard one. He didn’t follow the rules and gets into fights with the others with him mostly instigating it. He had been punished for every rule breaking but he didn’t care at all. Not even a little bit.
You sighed as you grabbed the umbrella from the old vase your father bought in a garage sale in Seoul and made your way outside. “Na Jaemin!” you called out as you unlocked the small gate of your house.
Jaemin didn’t stop walking (limping, actually) and you shook your head as you ran after him. “Jaemin-ssi, who did you fight with now?” you asked as you stood in front of him, making sure that your umbrella was also covering him.
Jaemin looked at you and you gasped in shock when you saw the cuts and bruises scattered on his face. He managed to scoff and pushed you aside as he continued to walk (limp!). “Jaemin! You’re going to get sick!”
“Would you leave me alone? For fuck’s sake, ever since I got in this shitty town you’d been all up my ass!” Jaemin exploded, looking over his shoulder. His eyes were a shade darker and you could feel the anger seeping inside you as you met his gaze with an anxious one.
“I just want to help you, that’s all.” you replied, holding the handle of your umbrella tightly. You felt a lump forming in your throat and the tears pooling in your eyes.
“Well, I don’t need it so stop talking to me. Stop getting into my business. You’re not my mother and you’re not my friend.”
Tumblr media
“(Y/N), are you okay?”
Renjun’s voice snapped you out of your trance and you looked at him to see a worried look etched on his face. You gave him a smile. “I’m sorry. I’m just daydreaming.” you told him. “What were you saying?”
Renjun chuckled and patted your head. “Cute.” He said as he pinched your cheek. You groaned playfully and slapped his hand away. “I was telling you that my mom asked if its possible that the kids at our music class at rehabilitation center can prepare for a stage number.”
Your eyes lit up. “Of course! That’d be awesome and I’m sure the kids would be willing to do it.”
“Whoo,” Renjun whistled. “I thought you’d say it was impossible. You know how persuasive my mother can be, right? I was pressured into saying yes.”
It was now your turn to pinch his cheek. ”Aigoo, my best friend is such a mama’s boy!”
Renjun rolled his eyes. “Stop calling me that! I’m a man, (Y/N)! A man!”
You laughed, throwing your head back. You were really thankful for having Renjun around. You honestly didn’t know what to do if he wasn’t. He was like your other half, your twin. He always brought out the inner child in you because most of the time, you were serious and too focused on responsibilities you had with your volunteer work and your actual job at the town’s convenience store. Renjun was the balance you needed in your life and you were really thankful for his existence.
Soon, your homeroom teacher arrived and checked the attendance. Once that was over, she reminded everyone of the upcoming finals and the scholarship forms from the big universities in the city had arrived and could be filled out at the administration office. Renjun nudged your elbow when your adviser was announcing it and you nudged him back. The two of you were planning to take the scholarship exam of SM University. Renjun wanted to become an architectural engineer while you wanted to become a teacher. SM University offered both courses and had a great program so you and Renjun hoped that you two will be able to pass the exam.
School went by quickly. Most of the time, you were just spacing out. Your mind just kept wandering between the scholarship forms and Jaemin. You couldn’t help but to feel hurt at what Jaemin said that day. You just wanted to help him out, why did he have to be such a jerk in turning down the help? You really wanted to believe that Jaemin had some goodness in him because you believe that everyone had goodness in them but you were starting to doubt Jaemin had. Maybe he really was just like what everyone in town was saying—a spoiled rich kid who have a temper.
“Oh! (Y/N), can I ask you for a favor?” your last teacher for the day, Ms. Jung, called out as you were about to leave. You spun on your heel and nodded, making your way towards her. “Your house is on the way to the rehabilitation center, right?” you nodded. “My brother Jaehyun is volunteering with a couple of friends there at the moment and I promised that I’ll bring them snacks but there’s a meeting in five minutes so could you please take this to them?” Ms. Jung grabbed your hand and placed some bills on your palm before closing it.
“Yes, Ms. Jung. I’ll give this to them.” you replied before bidding her good bye with a bow and you were off towards the rehabilitation center.
When you arrived, you easily spotted Jaehyun helping with the decorations. And as much as you didn’t want to notice Jaemin, he really stood among the rest not only because of his pink hair but also because of the mural he was creating on the walls of the center. He really was a great painter, an artist, and you wished you could tell him that but your last encounter with him made it very clear that he didn’t want anything to do you. With a sigh, you made your way towards Jaehyun.
“Hey.” you said as you tapped Jaehyun on his shoulder. When he turned to you, you smiled at him and he smiled back, putting down the decoration he was holding on the table behind him. “Your sister wanted me to give you this. She said she couldn’t make it because she has a meeting.” you said as you handed him the money.
“We’re taking a break in five minutes. Do you want to come and eat? My treat.” Jaehyun offered, looking at you expectantly. Not again, you thought. It wasn’t news to you that Jaehyun liked you and he even confessed last summer but you had rejected him since you weren’t ready for any romantic relationship. Jaehyun was determined, though, and while he understood that you weren’t ready, he also found a loophole: you didn’t state that you didn’t like him back so he persistently asked you out whenever he was in town. Jaehyun was already in his second year of college, pursuing a medical degree in one of the top universities in Seoul. Whenever he was in town, everyone practically rejoiced. He was the golden boy of Yeodo and everyone loved Jaehyun because he really had the whole package. He was smart, kind, handsome and responsible. So when the town found out that you rejected him—you didn’t tell anyone but you felt ostracized. One elderly even told you, “Aish, you silly girl, why did you reject Jaehyun-ah? Who are you to reject someone as perfect as him?” Of course you didn’t answer back so you just nodded and apologized.
You had your reasons why you rejected Jaehyun but you didn’t dare tell anyone those, not even Renjun. Truth was, Jaehyun was indeed smart, kind, handsome and responsible but for all the wrong reasons. He was smart so he used that as an advantage to manipulate and uplift himself while simultaneously downgrading those who weren’t academically inclined. He was kind but only to those who he knew he would benefit from aka the elderly, the teachers and the adults. He was handsome and once again used that as an advantage to get anything he wants especially from the people he knew liked him and worshipped him like he was some god. And yes, he was responsible but for all the wrong things. He was the student council president when he was still attending your high school and he used that responsibility to order and dictate people around. Overall, you didn’t like Jaehyun because he was an arrogant, narcissistic bully.
You gave Jaehyun an apologetic smile. “I’m sorry but I have to go to work now. I just had to give you the money from Ms. Jung. I’m sorry again.”
You were about to leave when Jaehyun grabbed your hand and it wasn’t gentle by any means. “(Y/N), come on, I just came back from Seoul. Don’t you wanna catch up with me?” His tone wasn’t lighthearted, too. He was annoyed, you could tell.
“I’m really sorry, Jaehyun-ssi, some other time, maybe?” you tried to grab your hand back but he was holding onto it so tight that it was starting to hurt.
“You said that the—,” Suddenly, Jaehyun’s hand and yours were forcefully split. “You again, huh? Go, we’re talking.”
“You were trying to force her into doing something she clearly doesn’t want to do,” Jaemin spoke up as he stood in the middle of you and Jaehyun, his back facing you. “Not very golden of you, huh, hyung?”
Your eyes widened in shock. No one ever tried to talk back to Jaehyun especially in a mocking tone but here was Jaemin doing exactly that. You couldn’t see what Jaehyun’s expression was since Jaemin’s broad shoulders prevented you from doing so but you could tell from the stares of the other people in the center that he was pissed. You heard Jaehyun scoff. “What to expect from a criminal? Respect? Who am I kidding? Yah, criminal, don’t call me hyung, alright?”
“Yes, but at least I got the balls to do my dirty works upfront not behind everyone’s backs.” Jaemin snickered and before you knew it, you had been pushed to the ground when Jaemin staggered backwards. He landed on you and you yelped in pain. “Get the fuck off me, you psycho!” Jaemin yelled as he pushed Jaehyung off of him and then grabbed your hand. “You know how to run?” He asked but he didn’t wait for you to answer and pulled you up, dragging you away from the center and the angry Jaehyun.
Tumblr media
You didn’t know how long you and Jaemin had been running but it was long enough because you found yourself at the docks where fishermen parked their boats and where tourists arrived. You were out of breath, collapsing on the ground as your chest rose rapidly. Sweat covered your body, your hair sticking all over your hair as the ponytail you had been wearing became undone. Jaemin, on the other hand, was catching up on his breath but he didn’t look anywhere as exhausted as you were. You grabbed your bag beside you and pulled out the bottle of water you had, quickly opening the cap and gulping the liquid until the last drop.
“Thanks for sharing.” Jaemin said, chuckling. You looked up at him, amusement plastered on his face. You shook your head as you pushed yourself off the ground and brushed away the dirt on your uniform.
“Thank you.” you said, facing him. “For saving me back there.”
Jaemin scoffed, reaching something from his shoe. A cigarette. “I didn’t save you; I wanted to piss golden boy off.” He replied then faced you, the cigarette now between his lips. “Got a lighter?”
You shook your head. “That’s bad for your health.” you told him, pointing at the stick between his lips. “And don’t say we’re all gonna die at one point. What about the rest of your life before that?”
“I thought we established the fact that we aren’t friends so why are you still up on my business? Don’t you have a life?” Jaemin snapped, raising his eyebrow at you.
“I owe you my life. The least I could do is to—,”
Jaemin took a step towards you, throwing his stick away and closing in the distance between the two of you. He leaned down, meeting your eyes. “I didn’t save you.”
“Why do you keep up with that façade, Jaemin? It doesn’t hurt to be a good person.” you told him softly, meeting his hardened gaze with your soft ones.
“I’m not a good person. Why the fuck do you think I was sent in this shitty island for?” Jaemin took a step back, running his fingers through his hair.
“Everyone has goodness in them, Jaemin. You are no exception.” you said, shrugging your shoulders.
“Everyone? You sure about that? Even that prick Jaehyun?” Jaemin chuckled. You didn’t reply and watched as he walked towards the end of the dock. The sun was already setting and the environment around the both of you were draped with bright orange. You walked towards him and stood beside him. “Does he like you or something?” He asked after a moment of silence.
“Yes,” you didn’t deny. “I rejected him though. I don’t... particularly find him my type.”
“Just say you don’t like him.” Jaemin said, annoyed. “Nobody has a type, trust me.”
“I’m not in a position to say I don’t like Jaehyun, Jaemin.” you said with an empty, almost inaudible laugh.
Jaemin raised an eyebrow. “What?”
You took a deep breath as you held your chin up, watching as the sun set in the horizon. You never told anyone about your reasons why you don’t like Jaehyun but somehow, with Jaemin, it felt right. And so you told him and when you checked to see if he was listening from time to time, you found himself with his eyes closed and seated on the edge of the dock, legs dangling above the cold water. You could tell he was listening because every time you stopped, he would open his eyes and tell you to proceed. Once the story was over, Jaemin rose from his seat. “So he’s a jack ass who can’t take no from an answer. And here I was thinking men had finally developed.”
You only smiled. “If he bothers you again then just punch him or kick his dick. You gotta learn to put ‘no’ into actions, (Y/N)-ssi.”
“I will keep that in mind.”
And for the rest of the hour, you and Jaemin just sat in silence as the last bit of light faded and the moon rose, lighting up the sea before the two of you.
Tumblr media
Hanging out with Jaemin after that day became an everyday thing. It would always be by the docks. You would pack snacks and little lunchboxes for the two of you to share while conversing about the most random thing like which was better: chicken wings or chicken legs. But there were times where the conversation was serious and deep like the time Jaemin first opened up to you. You remember just telling him an anecdote about your childhood and he replied by telling you he didn’t have as much fun as you did when he was little. You asked why and to your surprise, Jaemin told you that he was an only child and his parents were always busy with work so he didn’t get to play and spend time with them as you did with your parents when you were little. He left it at that but you were thankful that Jaemin was starting to open up. Days passed before Jaemin opened up to you again and this time, he told you how he became the person he was now. His parents, specifically his father, was a known businessman and was very strict towards him. To Jaemin, he never really felt like he was his father but one of his employees. Jaemin always felt controlled by his father and he just snapped one day. Vandalizing and petty crimes were his way of getting back at his father and even though he was beaten up every time his father would learn of his actions, Jaemin never felt pain but rather an immense feeling of victorious. Then he met some people that weren’t exactly ‘good’ people. They were the ones who taught him how to do drugs, drink, smoke and other illegal things—street race, theft, burglary, public disturbance and hacking to name a few. He was aware that what he was doing was too much but for the first time in his life, Jaemin felt like he had a family. When his father learned about this, it was the last straw and he was sent to Yeodo.
You felt sorry for Jaemin but he made it clear that he didn’t need that from anyone. He didn’t regret his actions and he wasn’t repenting for it either. After he told you all that, he turned to you and said, “Still think I’m a good person?” He had a loopsided smirk when he asked you that.
“Humans are a complex being,” you told him. “We do things we think are right and justifiable but for some it may be wrong and unjust. You did all those because you wanted to get back at your father—that is understandable but along the way of doing so, you had hurt innocent people who were just trying to get by and that is wrong.” you faced Jaemin, a small smile on your face. “I think you’re a good person, Jaemin; its just you chose to be the villain in your own story.”
The streets were already dark but the lamp posts illuminated some parts. You and Jaemin were on your back and to your surprise, Jaemin offered to walk you home as payment for all the food you kept on bringing whenever the two of you would meet. You were thankful that it was night time already and the lamp posts weren’t as bright as before because you had been blushing like hell ever since Jaemin offered to take you home. You knew it meant nothing but still, you couldn’t get the butterflies in your stomach to stop being chaotic and your face from turning red. You had been feeling this way lately—giddy and nervous and awkward whenever you were with Jaemin. You had a hunch why but you didn’t want to say it out loud especially to yourself. It just wasn’t right. And even if it was, it would just be one-sided and eventually Jaemin would have to go once he finishes his stay at Yeodo. So you just kept it to yourself and enjoyed the moments you spent with him.
You found yourself in front of your house moments later. The lights were on and you could hear the sound of television inside. You faced Jaemin, “Thanks for walking me home.”
“It’s not free, you know. You have to pay me.” Jaemin said as a matter of fact.
You furrowed your eyebrows. “How? Do you want me to make that sandwich you like again?” you asked, grabbing the lunchbox from his hand as you chuckled.
“No, something else.” Jaemin replied.
“What do you—,” Before you can finish your sentence, you felt something on your lips. Your eyes widened in shock and surprise as Jaemin held your face with his hands, moving his lips against yours. You were frozen, unable to respond but you didn’t need to as he pulled away just as quick as he kissed you.
“I expect that payment every time I accompany you anywhere. Got it, (Y/N)?” Jaemin smiled at you—not in a mocking or teasing way but a real, genuine and sincere smile. You felt like your heart was about to explode. “Yah, did you turn into a stone?” He poked your cheek and you blinked your eyes rapidly, feeling your face heat up. He chuckled. “Was that your first kiss?”
You nodded in embarrassment. You should be mad because you expected your first kiss to be more magical but you weren’t. In fact, you were practically jumping and screaming inside. “First kisses are really not that special, (Y/N). You get to have many first kisses in your life. What’s important is who’s gonna be your last. Do you think I can be that guy?” Jaemin stepped forward and grabbed your hand, lacing his fingers with yours. “I told myself I wouldn’t fall for you but I did and I was wondering if you want to fall for me too?”
“I—yes, I, I want to, Jaemin-ssi.” you stuttered out, lowering your gaze. You couldn’t meet his eyes. It was too much.
“Can I have another kiss?” He asked and you nodded shyly. Placing his fingers on your chin, he lifted your face and smiled before connecting his lips with yours.
Tumblr media
Being with Jaemin made you feel alive and you didn’t know that was possible. You didn’t understand when people say don’t just live instead be alive but now you do. Whenever you were with Jaemin, you felt like you could conquer the world. Whenever you were with Jaemin, it felt like it was the only the two of you in the world. You felt so happy and so lucky because Jaemin was just too perfect to even be real but whenever he held you close to him and kissed you—you realized that it was real and he was real and him being your boyfriend was real. You used to think that you had a pretty great life then you met him and he changed all that. You didn’t know how one person can change your life entirely.
Before Jaemin, you were living a simple life—a life that everyone in Yeodo was living.
After Jaemin, you realized how much you were missing out on.
Three months after the two of you started dating, you woke up one day and learned that Jaemin was released from the rehabilitation center and was brought back to Seoul to start anew. You cried your heart out—why didn’t he say good bye? You remembered just falling apart. You gave everything to that boy but he just left. You always knew he would but he promised to say good bye and to write since there was no stable signal at Yeodo but ever since he left, there wasn’t a single letter from Seoul that arrived.
Three months later, you graduated and found out you got accepted into SM University along with Renjun. You were supposed to be happy and celebrate but you went home, acceptance letter in your hand, and went to sleep.
Yet another three months later, you were bidding your parents and everyone in town good bye as you and Renjun boarded the ship towards Seoul to settle for college that was about to start in two months. You were feeling better now and tried to forget the pink-haired boy that was your first love.
And as you left Yeodo, you looked back one last time and reminisced back to the days where the dock felt like the entire world whenever you were Jaemin. But now, it was just empty.

… so… this may or may not be a thing? We’re gonna see how people respond to it, I guess, and then maybe it’ll continue as a series?
I don’t expect it to go well, because uh, I don’t have any idea how to write Steve Rogers as a character, and I feel as though there are some topics that could arise in this series that I might not know how to handle, so…
(It’s a thing):
Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7, Part 8, Part 9, Part 10, Part 11, Part 12, Part 13, Part 14, Part 15, Part 16, Part 17, Part 18,  Part 19, Part 20, Part 21, Part 22
Word Count: 2147

“We need you to talk to him.“
You blinked at Nick Fury. Not only had you never been addressed directly by the head of SHIELD, you had never been in the same room as him. Now, here he was, standing in front of you, his arms hanging by his side, and a sincere expression on his face.
"Uh… wait,” you said, deciding that it made sense to clear up this request he was bestowing on you before simply agreeing. After all, just because he was Director Fury didn’t mean that you were going to do everything he said.
Especially something like this.
“So… you want me to… befriend the man who has been trapped in ice for seventy years, in the hopes that… what? He’ll… decide to join society?"
Fury lifted his shoulders. "Basically.”
“And why me?” you queried, frowning.
“You have a way,” Fury said, as though that answered your question in the slightest. “Anyway, the sooner you can figure it out, the better, because we need him to, uh, not consider anything other than rejoining society.”
You did not have to ask him to elaborate on what he meant by that. Your experience with war veterans gave you a pretty solid understanding on the euphemisms of suicide.
“All right,” you said, carefully, “but… if I don’t manage to get him to like me, then what?"
"Well, we’re not incredibly worried about him,” the Director of SHIELD responded, “but we know that he must feel very lonely, and rather helpless. We’re not positive that he’ll accept you as a friend, but we also don’t think he’ll flat-out deny someone wanting to help him integrate back into society.” He offered you an expression that might have been reassuring, had he been anyone other than Nick Fury. “You’ll do fine.”
Again, he hadn’t answered your question, but hey, what were you supposed to do about it? He was your boss, after all.
You’d joined SHIELD after an invitation had reached you in your tiny apartment in New York, which you rented through the funding you received from your job at the hospital as a receptionist. Although no one had ever told you how they’d figured out who you were, and what you did, you thought that you’d adjusted well to your position in SHIELD. Handling panicking people was something you were good at, and, more often than not, there was a panicking person, or group of people, for you to deal with on a regular basis.
Aside from that, however, you were also extremely good at helping people who’d been through hell and had somehow gotten out of it, only to continue to be faced with it in their daily lives through nightmares and panic attacks. It was a skill you’d developed through extreme sensitivity that your mother often called psychic, and through your work with war veterans that passed through the hospital. You’d also created a group for them, at the nearby retirement community, where many were spending the remainder of their lives.
It was because of this, you supposed, that Nick Fury had approached you to help with Steve Rogers, who’d recently been unearthed like a fossil or something. Although you’d never been one to read comic books, you knew who he was, who he had been, at any rate.
You did not ask, but you wondered if Director Fury hoped to bring back who Steve Rogers had been, although for what purpose, you did not know. A back-up plan, in case aliens tried to take over the Earth, or something.
Even with your experience, however, you did not have any idea how to handle a ninety-year-old man who looked and had the physicality of a twenty-year-old, especially one who had at one moment been in the 1940’s, and in the next had been thrown into the 21st century.
It was going to be something new.
“He’s been living in a facility that we’ve created to model the 1940’s,” Fury told you as he led you down one of the many hallways of one of the buildings that SHIELD owned. “We meant for it to help him adjust to what’s happened, but I don’t know how well it’s worked."
"Right,” you said. Your mind was reeling. You’d put yourself into the shoes of many victims of trauma, but never before had you had to help someone who had been asleep for seventy years adjust to the new life that they were suddenly faced with. So much had changed since the ‘40’s, so many things, in fact, that you doubted you’d be able to think of them all, in order to help him adjust.
Again, you weren’t positive that this was going to go well.
It was too late, however, to back out. Fury would not have come to you, specifically, if he did not think you had at least some chance of making this work.
You supposed that out of many of your coworkers, you did have the best chance.
Still.
Director Fury paused outside a door down a bland hallway, and nodded to it. “We’ve had people check on him every hour or so since he defrosted, but he hasn’t been the most responsive to them,” he said. “So, first thing’s first -”
“Get him to respond to me,” you concluded. Fury dipped his head. You exhaled, and faced the door. “Sure. I can do this.”
“Good attitude,” Fury praised, and then he patted you on the shoulder. “And good luck.”
You nodded, and listened as he walked away. He did not leave the hallway entirely, you noticed.
After taking a moment to center yourself, to calm your thoughts, you lifted your fist, and knocked politely on the door.
You were incredibly surprised when, after a minute, it opened from the other side.
Holy shit this man’s arms are the size of tree trunks.
So, needless to say, your first impression of Captain Steve Rogers was probably not the most profound.
Luckily, you were good at pulling yourself together, and you quickly held out your hand towards the gorgeous figure that had opened the door.
“Hello, Captain Rogers,” you said, offering a smile. “My name is Y/N.”
The moment you knew that helping Steve Rogers would be a wonderful experience was when he shook your hand, and said, “Pleasure to meet you, ma'am.”
You were almost positive you stood there, holding his hand and blinking at him like an idiot for at least two minutes, but he did not seem bothered. In fact, if anything, he seemed amused, especially when you finally realized that it was time to let go of his hand, and quickly dropped your own to your side.
“I just… I’d heard that you were… well, here, and I wanted to know how you’re doing,” you said, hoping that you didn’t sound too much like you were stammering. “I mean, I don’t have any clue what it must be like for you, obviously, but I’d like to understand, so that I can help you in anyway I can.”
Captain Rogers’s amused expression faded, and he tilted his head, moving slightly so that he blocked the entrance way to his living space. “You don’t need to lie to me, ma'am,” he said, and you furrowed your brows, slightly. “I know that I’ve been causing troubles for the nice people of SHIELD, and that they want me to get a move on with reentering the world. It doesn’t need to be sugar coated for me.”
Okay. So, he understands that he needs to reinsert himself. That’s a good start.
“That’s true,” you said, calmly smiling once more, “but, like I said, I’m here to help you with that. I’m not just another person who’s been sent to check on you, make sure you’re trying. I’m here to help you try.” You paused, and then tilted your head, mimicking him. “Could I come in?"
When he did not reply, immediately, you gestured down the hall. "Or you could come out, instead. We could go get something to eat?"
"No,” he said, almost immediately, and you lifted an eyebrow. “Here’s fine. Come in, please.” He stepped out of the way of the door, and you sidled past him into the living space on the other side, already knowing that you had plenty of work to do.
The living space was the same size of a small apartment. In fact, it was bigger than the apartment that you’d been living in, actually. There was a bedroom, with a bathroom attached, and a small kitchen that was in the same space a a living room of sorts. Looking at the furniture, including the TV and kitchen appliances, you saw that SHIELD had done everything it could to give Captain Rogers a 1940’s feel.
The TV was a boxy, clunky thing. Next to the ragged looking couch was a square side table, on which sat a boxy radio. The lamp in the corner of the room had a very ugly shade on it. The carpet was atrocious, as was the tile in the kitchen. The appliances themselves were green.
“They wanted it to feel like I was at home,” Captain Rogers said from behind you, seeing that you’d paused to take everything in. “It was nice of them."
"Yeah, definitely,” you agreed, turning to watch him as he entered the kitchen, and opened the outdated fridge. You were honestly surprised that these things worked. He looked at you.
“Would you like some water? It’s all I have."
"Sure,” you said. “Thank you.”
You moved to sit down on the couch, and winced as a stray spring immediately dug up into your ass cheek. They couldn’t have given him at least a slightly comfortable couch? The radio was on, although it was only buzzing, softly; no music came from its single speaker.
When Captain Rogers joined you, holding a glass of water, you nodded towards the radio, taking the glass from him. “No music?"
He managed a small smile, one that looked almost sheepish. "I don’t really like the music that you have here,” he explained.
“Oh,” you said. Obviously. “But, you like background noise?"
"Sorry.” He immediately moved to turn the radio off, with the same ease you’d use to turn off a cell phone. “I just - it’s something that’s at least sort of similar to how the radio was. Static.”
You took a sip of your water, wondering how hard it would be to find a record player and some vinyls with ‘40’s music on them. After a period of time, you realized that Captain Rogers had not joined you on the couch, and you looked up at him.
“Are you… not sitting down for a reason?"
He let out a chuckle that sounded a bit forced. "It’s a small sofa,” he said, gesturing to it.
Confused, but deciding to let him do what was most comfortable, you set the glass of water down on the table that the radio sat on, and looked at him. “So,” you began, “talk to me, Captain."
"About what, ma'am?"
"About you,” you said, gesturing. You smiled. “And I don’t mean Captain America. I mean you. Who is Steven Rogers? What was his life like?"
For a moment, he was silent, and you wondered, briefly, if he didn’t quite understand why you wanted to know about him.
Before you could say anything else, however, he spoke: "Was."
You frowned, a little. "Was?"
"You said, "What was his life like?”,“ he explained, his eyes trained on the floor. "Everyone else always talks in the present tense."
You forced your shoulders to relax. This wasn’t going the way you’d hoped it would, so far, but you decided to just… stick with it. "Well, there’s really no sense in living in the past, is there?” you asked him. “I mean, you’re here now, and although there’s plenty of things from your old life that you can keep with you, and you can even be the same Steve Rogers that you were… there’s also things that you’re going to have to accept, and the fact that you’re in the 21st century is one of them."
His gaze lifted, and met yours. God, his eyes were blue. "Easier said than done, don’t you think?"
"Most things are,” you replied, easily. “And besides, you don’t have to do it alone, now.” You grinned at him. “I’m here to help.”
A moment of silence passed. For a scarily long second, you thought that maybe he was going to tell you to leave.
Instead, he smiled back. “It is always easier doing something with a little help,” he admitted. “That’s something I’ve come to learn, anyway.”
You relaxed for real, this time. “Good,” you said. “Glad we can agree on that, at least.” You crossed your legs at the knee. “So, Captain -” you started, again. “What was your life like?”

Calum Hood x reader
@validhanlon @strang-ersclub
~~
Can’t help but wondering if this
Is the last time that I’ll see your face
You had been dating Calum Hood for around two years before you split back in December because of a disagreement. Everyone had loved your relationship and people were devastated when you broke up. More devastated than you for some. You had gotten over the ‘I don't need a man to be happy’ phase and now you are in the depression phase. After being in your room for days, your best friend dragged you out and decided to take you to the mall for a small outing.
“C’mon (y/n), please, just come with me to the mall. You need to get out and take a breath of fresh air. I know you guys were really close, but you need to get over him and find someone new to take over!” (y/b/f) says, as they throw you a couple clothing items, you shove them on lazily and brush through your hair with you fingers. You thought a full face of makeup would be over doing it so you settled with concealer and mascara. You follow your best friend out of your apartment and into their car. You set your feet on the dashboard and laid your head on the window as (y/b/f) turned on the radio.
“-And here we are with 5 Seconds of Summer and their new single Want You Back! Anything to say before we start it boys?” The over enthusiastic host says to the four boys. You snap your head to the radio and your breath catches in your throat as you listen to the voice you dreamed of for the past couple weeks.
“This song was written by Luke and I a couple weeks ago, I think it's pretty clear who its about,” Calum says, his voice like honey even over the static radio. You clench your jaw and look out the window, ignoring the glances from (y/b/f), you hug yourself tighter and try to block out the start of the song. The voice of Luke takes over the car as it starts, you close your eyes as the words fill your mind, reminding you of when Calum and you broke up.
Wish I could say something
Something that doesn’t sound insane
But lately, I don’t trust my brain
“Calum? Are you serious?” You had no clue what Calum was thinking but you knew it wasn’t good. “You resort to drinking every time we get into an argument, and every argument we’ve been in was cause by your drinking problem!” You exclaim at the 21 year old who was standing a couple feet in front of you.
“Why is it a problem anyways? You don’t let me do anything I want! You are so controlling!” You take a step back, you knew you weren’t controlling, you knew that he only said that cause he was mad, you knew, you knew, but you were still hurt. “Wait-” He was trying to take back what he said. He knew you didn’t want to turn into your parents, who controlled everything the other did.
“(y/b/f) will be here tomorrow to get my stuff. We’re done,” You say before turning and grabbing your shoes and keys, you left the apartment as soon as you could and (y/b/f) brought your stuff back to their apartment where you would stay until you could get your own place. Calum almost immediately drove off to Ashton’s place, he stayed there because he couldn’t bare the thought of living alone.
You know even when I say I've moved on
You know even though I know that you're gone
All I think about is where I went wrong
You take a breath and open your eyes before glancing at (y/b/f) who was watching you. They had parked a couple minutes ago but knew that you needed a moment. The song ends and you smile at them before opening the car door and hopping out. “(y/b/f), can we hurry so we don’t run into fans, please?” They nod at your request and they hop out as well before walking with you in silence through the mall.
It’s was after an hour trip, you drop your bags and stumble into your bed. You close your eyes and try to sleep but the song was still resonating in your head. Your eyes snap open and you grab your phone, opening Spotify and searching 5sos. You press on Want You Back and put it on repeat.
You feel yourself slowly getting more sad as it plays again and again. Every word makes it harder for you to not text him. You groan and snatch the phone from your stomach and you open the texts; you pause.
‘Should you do it? What do you think would happen? Would he even respond?’
You shove the thoughts away and start texting. After you send it you take a breath and wait. Almost immediately he texts back and you ignore the anxiety and read.
meet me at my apartment at 9
You take a deep breath and knock on the door. Your hands shaking. You had tried to dress a little but you thought it was too much. You start to play with your hands just as the door opens. Your head snaps up and you look at Calum’s tired eyes.
“Hi,” You say, letting out a deep breath. Calum smiles and lets you into the apartment you had lived in for two years. You glanced around, it was bland considering you had decorated the place with your things and now they are in (y/b/f)’s apartment. “How have you been?” You ask him, making your way to his couch which had a blanket and a single pillow from a bed. You stare at it, realizing it was yours. You ignore that and look up at Calum, sitting down.
“Been busy, you want a drink?” Calum asks, starting to walk into the kitchen. You cross your legs and take off your jacket, answering Calum with a ‘what do you have?’
“Uh, I really only have water, lemonade, and pomegranate juice,” Calum says back, you smile, knowing he was trying to cut back on the alcohol and having none in the house.
“I’ll go with lemonade,” You say, looking around the living room. It was clean and looked like he rushed to clean it before you got here. You snap your head around when you hear the clicking of ice against a glass grow louder. He was carrying two glasses of lemonade. He sits next to you and hands you a cold glass.
“How have you been?” Calum asks, taking a sip of his drink and setting it on the coffee table.
“I’ve been… okay, (y/b/f) is letting me stay at theirs so I can have a stable place to stay while I work for an apartment,” Calum nods and ruffles his hair. You pick at your nails and look at him. “You’ve been sleeping on the couch?” Calum swallows and glances at the pillow, nodding.
“I found that I can’t sleep in a bed without y-someone,” Calum mumbles, playing with his hands. You stare at his face that was awkwardly avoiding your gaze.
“Do you have any alcohol?” You suddenly ask, hopping up quickly and making your way into the kitchen. Calum furrows his eyebrows and watches you. You listen to him confirm that he has none. You kneel in front of the sink and you open the cabinet, pushing aside some cleaning products and picking out a bottle of wine.
“Well now you do,” You say back as he walks in, seeing you shut the sink cabinet with your foot. “Got any glasses?”
You wake up groggily, your hand pushing against the carpet as you pick up your head. You lift yourself up and look around, seeing two wine glasses and an empty bottle on the coffee table. You had no clothes on and weren’t sure where Calum was.
“Shit!” You hear from the kitchen, a sizzle and the smell of bacon welcomes your nose and you get up fully, grabbing the shirt closest to you and slipping it on. You follow the smell and find Calum making breakfast with just some sweatpants and a fresh shirt. He puts the last piece on a plate and turns around seeing you standing, watching him.
“You okay?” You ask, Calum smiles and nods. He turns back and turns off the stove as well as moving the pan. He nods for you to follow him to the living room, you comply.
“So, you’re not still mad?” Calum asks, his tone quiet and shy.
“No, I’m not,” You answer, you watch him smile and look down. “Do you still want me back?” Calum snaps his head up and rolls his eyes as your smile grows.
“No matter how long you’re gone, I’m always gonna want you back,” Calum jokes, causing you to laugh. He pulls you close and presses his lips to your forehead, hugging you tightly.
I know you know
I will never get over you
No matter where I go
I’m always gonna want you back
Want you back

Francis Pritchard x Reader Chapter 1
P1TH0N’S JOURNAL: FEBRUARY 9TH 2027
7:38am
In the distance sirens can be heard as I made my way to Sarif Industries. The building reflects the face of Detroit, dismal but full of new hope. This new company just became well known only a year or two ago.
A motorbike coming to a stop in the underground parking garage barely lit by the lights embedded in the walls. The basement entrance unlocked with a triple beep granting access to the engineer room. Spacey and dark since none of the lights in the building have been turned on yet. Black lights can be seen out in the hallway running low on power.
I flip the switch fuses that give power to everywhere in the building. I squinted at the sudden brightness of the room as I hung my jacket on the coat rack.
The last Engineering manager disappeared and they needed a replacement asap, so they gave me the promotion to fill the position. My talent can go from fixing Coffee machines to hot wiring cars in hollywood movies. Speaking of coffee, I should go get some myself. I walk up the flight of stairs towards the Café, provided by Sarif himself, and to where the kitchenette can be found.
“Froger’s Instant Coffee.” Tastes just as good as its name. Cheap. Sarif may provide for the Café, but it doesn’t mean he has to get the good stuff.
I start the coffee maker and began digging through the cupboards for that one special mug. Scribbled on it was the word ‘coffee’, but in a /blue/ sharpie instead of black. I took a quick look inside and noticed something crusty in it, “JC. Whoever washes the dishes around here need more elbow grease next time.” I rinsed it quickly and watched the coffee maker…make coffee. Just as exciting as watching the scientists work, but eventually something good happens.
The coffee maker started gurgling and stopped making coffee, so I banged on it a few time just to get it going again. After ten minutes of a whistling solo the coffee maker beeps abruptly bringing me out of my wind concerto and over to the pitcher to get the daily dose of caffeine one needs if they wake up at 7am every morning for work.
The rest of the building was silent. Pretty peaceful unlike later in the day where everyone is running around like they’re trying to get someone to the moon in a day. BigBro cameras were the only thing making a noise at the moment buzzing as they scanned the areas. I inspected one that has been fizzling in and out just outside the dining area. It needs to be tweaked soon. It has been two weeks its been doing that. Maybe I’ll tackle it after I do something nice for my bosses. Besides give them more paperwork to fill out. Today is going to be slow and boring, so why not give them some encouragement.
I turned to read the clock on the microwave.
7:45am
“Crap, Pritchard will be here soon.” I hastily dig through the cupboard to find his mug which had the infamous Nucl3arSnake logo drawn on it. I did that for him since he was getting vexed at people stealing his mug, 'Just put my name on it or draw a logo on there or SOMETHING so they’ll know not to take it.’ He frantically said a few months ago.
I’ve been with SI since they started hiring advanced security back in 2026 in January and Pritchard joined in just at the end of July of the same year. He is the very same way today as he was a year ago, annoyingly snarky and dashingly clever. He’s recently been opening up a little more to me. Considerably everyday actually, I’m quite honoured.
Looking back at the mug and out of my day dream I look at the drawing again. It wasn’t the best and was quickly squiggled on, I’ll just put it on my to-do list to fix later. I filled the mug with hot coffee, spilling some on my hand in the process and opened the fridge to find the vanilla coffee creamers. It’s never another flavour is it. Hesitating a moment to think about two creams or three. Three of course, he has a sweet tooth and man he can be so cranky in the morning.
7:50am
I was about to book it with the coffee to his office until more hot liquid touched my hand. “Geez!” I politely cursed to the nonexistent audience that I write to while grabbing a small tea plate to put over the mug and run towards the Tech Lab. Almost tripping on the stairs going up, I safely managed to open the door with my free hand and speed walk inside to set the plate and coffee next to the computer. The only reason I know the code to his office is so I can make sure the cameras are facing the proper direction…and he secretly enjoys my late-night company, but he’s too proud to admit it.
The little Korean vacuum cleaner beeped at my presence upon entering.
7:55am
I hear his motorcycle rumbling underneath my feet even from the second floor. I quickly leave the office accidentally squishing the bot that followed me out the door. “Sorry buddy, you can’t come with.” I gently move it back in the office with my foot and close the door. Soft thumps can be heard from the bot and from the nearby stairs. I make a 180° in my tracks and take the scenic route to the stairs to avoid him for multiple reasons. Peering around the corner, I check to make sure he’s in his office before proceeding downstairs.
Now back in the dining area I take my coffee and go to my own office to begin a long and bland day. “Wait, I forgot Adam’s coffee.” I breathed in then clumsily got out of the Jetson chair and went kitchen bound, again. Finding the only other clean mug and /carefully/ filling it this time. Two creams, two sugars. I grabbed another small plate to hold the lava hot liquid in the mug then hurried onwards up an extra flight of stairs and to his office. “Oh geez,” I forgot his code… 0451…1723…? I only have one entry left. Do I risk the alarm system going off and having an even scarier morning Francis? Or do I just ask him…5375. “Oh thank god,” the door opened to reveal a very hot and humid office and a slightly dishevelled and sleeping Adam. He must have left his humidifier on by accident. I didn’t even realize he didn’t leave work last night either. I set the coffee on his desk and poked the cactus on my way out. They thrive off of negligence I heard.
Now finally in my office there’s a stack of paperwork I have to get to and a camera to fix later.
6:15pm
The fucking alarm system went off on the first floor. Where the café is with the busted camera of course. When I got to the area, Adam was already down there checking out the scene for clues as to why the alarms were going off.
All of the workers except for Francis, Adam, and I have evacuated the building to safety protocols. A walking turret was stalking about looking for the intruder that it will never find because there are none.
“What the hell is going on Jensen?”
“I might ask you the same thing since you have all the camera feeds in /your/ office, Francis” Major emphasis on his name.
    “Well-”
    “It’s not my division.”
“Damnit Jensen it /is/ a part of your division! You are a part of our security, tech or not!”
I figured I should do something before their quarrelling turns violent, so I disabled the bugged cameras making the alarm system shut off.
“Finally, could this day have anymore interruptions!” Francis’ ponytail swished as he walked off. How cute…I didn’t realize I was staring until Frank spoke up.
“And thanks (y/n) for doing something right unlike /some/ other people.” he glared at Jensen then disappeared up the stairs and probably to his office.
“Thanks (y/n), seriously. Im sure he was about to have a seizure from restraining himself from punching me.”
“Pfft, you’re welcome, but y’know he’s not as bad as people think he is.”
“Could be, but you have also been working with him and the company for quite some time. He knows you.”
I shrugged then walked back to my office broken camera in hand, “Maybe so.”
