Saw a post about potentially separating Life!False into a third twin from HC! and E!False and how will we call the third one since these are called True and False and it kind of pissed me off because nowhere in the Empires are neither Falses called True, Truesymmetry is a camera account and literally never had any lore and a set of identical triplets is fucking insane
Also: if she was a twin how would she get into the life series, does HC!False just chuck her through a portal too? Is she just there? She remembers everything or also has amnesia??
I want to see HC!False experiencing the horrors, not someone who potentially doesn’t remember or know anything, I Need to see HC!False cowarding around and being a bastard and putting her life above everyone else’s, I want to see her die embarrassingly and then be angry at herself for the rest of the session about it, I really really want to see her dyke out 😔
Also i understand that her Empires lore was cool, but you really don’t need to make everything about HC!False lore(?) and potential Life!False about her and being twins and blood relations, I love her and am insane about her but I’m afraid False was the first one to let go of that whole thing, and I think we should separate the whole thing at least a little bit
#Sorry#I didn’t want to be angry under the post because I’m a coward#im also a little angry at how often people headcannon Falses as one entity separated#and how they can’t be whole or smth#im not against fun or whimsy by the way#just don’t like some ideas#also False’s were confirmed to be twins and sisters only by HC!False and she lies All the time#idk it just irks me the wrong way for some reason#I know the reason actually#I don’t like the idea of them being unwhole as people and unable to fully live without one another#I understand that it’s hard to be separated from your sibling (as someone who is seaparated from their sister)#but you really have to get pver it and it doesn’t makes you any less of person#it‘s about grieving really#maybe I just don’t understand the vision#sorry sorry

usually I just do thumbnails in a sketchbook, like real rough shit and then I take a quick picture and set it in a digital canvas and jump to drawing, but lately I've been going 'nah, we gotta go a little bit further. let's do some real inking, as a treat,' since I've been doing some Real Inking in my sketchbook and want to see if I can emulate it digitally
however I found a perfect tiny sketchbook that is a reduced size for the digital comic canvas I use, so we're like. drawing real backgrounds. laying out the dialogue placement. thinking about scene props. drawing. fucking stairs. going outside and taking reference photos of stuff. augh.
#it's not actually that bad im just bitching because it's kind of funny how against doing all of this i was#up until i realized that i actually kind of have fun doing this kind of thing#but the complaining is still like. time honored. a tradition at this point#i am glad that i decided to work my way back up into doing all of this over the course of two/three years bc i would not#be having a good time if i tried to jump back into it right off the bat#like no the minimalist no background comics were good and fun and i learned a lot abt what kind of coloring style i want to have#and also got more comfortable posting half finished bullshit for fun and whimsy

ok im going to try to articulate my thoughts on why i'm, personally, not bothered with the writing and what we've seen of the backstory in The Sign.
would i like to see more of their past? absolutely, however, with the limitations of episode count, the budget for special effects, etc. i totally understand the limited view we're getting and personally i do think they give us everything we need to know.
based on the amount of parallels we're seeing between this life and their first life we can pretty safely use current day phaya and tharn as a cipher to unlock their backstory to their previous life.
we see wansarut bold and unapologetic in the face of sakuna? is that his name in the book? remains unclear to me but sure. garuda!phaya. we see garuda!phaya push her boundaries and push to get closer to her despite her protests. this is a direct correlation to present day tharn and phaya and the dance they've done with their relationship. with this in mind we can pretty much assume their relationship formed similarly, through a back and forth, clash of personalities, meeting on common ground, and finally wansarut's walls coming down to let sakuna in where he then simply adores her in the same manner phaya adores tharn.
again, i would love to see that journey, but i'm okay not seeing it when i use the context clues given by the rest of the narrative to fill in those gaps. i personally find it fun to imagine what may have been different, what may have been the same, etc. i think it gives fanfic authors and creative types the opportunity to play with the characters and connect to them in their own ways. i don't always think we need to know every tiny detail of the characters we love as this allows us to see more of ourselves in them.
as for the way modern day phaya and tharn's relationship has been written i also haven't been upset with that either. there's a certain magnetism we've seen between them that draws them together in the way tharn instinctively leans into phaya immediately in episode 1, the way he wants so very badly to kiss phaya in episode 2, etc. i think it's been a beautiful waltz between them, a careful give and take, you step back and i step forward until our steps reduce and we meet in the middle.
there is a point to be made for how quickly things progressed after the kiss but these are two people whose instincts and bodies have been calling to each other on a soul deep level and i don't think it's entirely out of the realm of possibility to say that perhaps in that moment they became wansarut and sakuna again, they had the opportunity to greet each other again and say 'i've missed you.'
i think you can gain a lot from The Sign by looking at it through a romantic lens rather than something purely analytical, but that could just be me and my romantic whimsy.
as for everything about their karma, i'm simply not educated on that aspect of things enough and i'm not really worrying about it. i'm just kind of viewing it as some kind of misfortune on both of them for the perceived slight against chalothorn and rolling with it.
all this to say everyone's thoughts are completely valid. i've really enjoyed seeing the differing thoughts and gaining a different perspective from my own. i think the one thing we can all agree on is that these two deserve to be happy and be at peace and i hope we get to see that.
#bunn meta#the sign#the sign the series#phayatharn#sakunawansarut#i didnt go back and read any of this so hopefully it makes sense and there aren't too many errors

istg ppl do not get shipping anymore ive seen like 5 videos in a row on tiktok saying that ppl can't ship anything outside of mizisua, ivantill, and hyuluka cuz it 'goes against their characters and the plot' or some shit, like no duh thats kinda the point?? its not like we're saying it should be canon but sometimes these alternate dynamics/AU's are fun to explore yknow? like cmon ur killing the spirit of fandom here dude, loosen up a little, let the silly in, or at least let me doomscroll in peace without seeing tons of ppl calling me a proshipping homophobic stain on society 😭 itd b different if it was an actual like pedophilic ship but this??? these ppl r just making up problems now
fandom has changed a lot from what it used to be i think now we're getting judged and policed about our way of interpreting and transforming the canon work like theres a reason fanon is called TRANSFORMATIVE yk it TRANSFORMS the canon like u can enjoy the canon without needing to stop everyone else from having fun u can choose not to consume transformative media that u don't like, ur giving MHA fandom but anyways
and for those who say like 'omg mizitill sucks cuz mizi is canon lesbian and ur destroying representation', its not like we're saying mizisua sucks and mizitill should replace it, its just that some people enjoy that dynamic like let us live man. its giving delusional, stop putting words in our mouths, the majority of ppl shipping alnst rarepairs r not trying to be homophobic we just have ✨imagination✨ and ✨whimsy✨
its also weird how ppl r so resistant to rarepairs that don't change the character's implied sexuality either like ive seen so many ivanluka haters like if u dont see the potential then GO AWAY u dont have to hate on every ivanluka video u see just smile and scroll goddamn theres bigger issues to white knight around about why don't u actually go fix homophobia in actively homophobic communities instead of fighting imaginary antis in a mainly lgbtq+ community. im not saying there arent ANY bad apples but if ur genuinely in this for some kind of moral/social problem reason there are more urgent and important issues for yall to be worrying about than random ass internet ppl who ship hyumizi instead of mizisua
anyways bye bye guys uwu stay safe out there don't get jumped <3
#rant#i am on like three cans of redbull#and two hours of sleep#wrote this instead of doing my homework uwu#alien stage#shipping#vent lowkey

im anti-AI-replacing-actual-humans for the most part but honestly when it comes to chat AIs. even though approaching w caution is ideal. i wouldve killed to have them as a kid over what "RP was like back in the day"
like until RPers learned to control the fucking rampant amount of groomers, until people stop taking out their problems onto those who dont consent into uncomfortable conversations n breed a terrible influx of ppl with similar experiences of being manipulated into RPing things they shouldnt have,,,
using AI is a safer alternative in the meantime. it isnt perfect and id be here all day talking abt the ethics of promoting AI alone and yeah sometimes will be inappropriate but theres a sense of comfort in knowing that there truly isnt a living breathing person threatening to kill themselves on the other side of the screen if u like. say dont reply on time or if you dont consent to a certain action
again. RP spaces can be fun but if ur someone like me, that grew up around a terrible online enviroment n didnt get to enjoy the whimsies of RPing in a way that respected your boundaries n u want to try to start again but in a space u can trust....idk. im not against using those AI chatthingos/making ur own AI to talk to until a love of RPing can withstand any ounce of horrible human encounters ud come across anywhere else
#and if anyone disagrees with me please be kind if u approach me abt this post#i genuinely would be fine to change my mind with solutions given#but roleplay as a subject in general is a super sensitive one to me#n bc ive found this temporary solution atm its helped me miles more than anyone thats ever tried to claim that they were different in RP#only to never rlly check in on boundaries or respect stuff being in character . its tiring. ive been tired for a very long time#n even to this day i rlly still wanna find love in this activity someday again.

Just As Long As We're Together - Judy Blume
"Can you have more than one best friend?
Stephanie’s best friend is Rachel. Since second grade they’ve shared everything, good and bad. But now it’s the start of seventh grade and Alison has just moved to their neighborhood. Stephanie immediately clicks with her—she’s cool and fun and totally humble even though she’s the daughter of a famous actress. Stephanie hopes all three of them can be best friends, but the more she pushes Alison on Rachel, the more Rachel seems to drift away. Is it possible to have two best friends? Or is it true that two’s company, three’s a crowd?"
Read Date - July 2024
Length - 202 pages
Genre - Realistic Fiction, Coming Of Age, Contemporary
Rating - 7/10
Stars - ★★★★☆
Notes - This book being about middle schoolers is sweet, because I didn’t read when I was a teen. It’s like a little insight into the world of what could have been. The lingering plot line of the talking dog is one that is sweet. They’re all young, and they’re gullible (except for one of the girls) and they still have their youthful whimsy. Bruce having nightmares about nuclear war is interesting and provides depth to his character. Them writing letters to the president was bittersweet, and its nice that his family helps out. The girls finding out that Stephanie’s mom is famous was another interesting scene because you see how the girls are so shocked by it, but to Stephanie, it’s just normal. There’s nothing extravagant about it for her. Alyson revealing that she lied to be friends with Stephanie and Rachel was adorable and it shows that-- they’re just kids. Kids having fun and navigating life. Rachel getting transferred to advanced math makes Stephanie feel like they’re drifting apart even though they’re still together. The reveal that Stephanie’s parents are splitting up was shocking and I wasn’t expecting that. Peter sharing his shampoo with Stephanie was adorable, and i think its a nice way to show interest between the two. The girls obsession with periods reminds me of my own friendships i had growing up with girls, where we all sit there talking about our future and what we want to develop. The mentions of weight are interesting but i’m unsure how productive they are. A lot of the times, when weight is mentioned in a book, it’s a bad thing. Stephanie doesn’t take it as a bad thing, and instead, uses it against her father. Stephanie lashing out at Iris is realistic to how children may react to new relationships in the family, especially this early into the separation. Steph still has hope for her parents, no matter how wrong she is about it. Bruce winning his position for the peace project was a smart way to write a solution to the nightmares that have been happening about nuclear war. Bruce wants peace, it’s as simple as that! Rachel and Stephanie growing apart is sad but makes sense, because sometimes you just grow apart as people. That’s life. The blowout between the two was a really good scene and i liked the way it played out if im being honest. Rachel pents up her anger until it comes spilling out of her. Stephanie getting her period on her birthday was a cute moment where she finally feels grown up. Them getting their first kiss the same night was also so sweet, and she really did grow up! Alison finding out her mom was pregnant was also a big twist that i wasn’t expecting! Her wanting to keep it secret makes sense, especially when Stephanie’s mom is friends with Alison’s mom. She’s worried that she wont be good enough as a daughter if her mom has a biological child, since she’s adopted. Rachel and Stephanie making up with each other was a bit rushed but it was a cute scene. It recreated the things they did as kids and its a nice call back. The cliffhanger was nice and didn’t cause enough tension, and you wouldnt NEED a sequel to exist (thought it’s set up for one).

boooooo game dev booo
(background image is not part of the game it;s a placeholder, i did not create it. the ui is made by me tho) i have been putting off ui stuff so much jdkfhkdsh please help
it's so hard because you have to make small pieces and try and put it together in your brain. ive done mock ups but there's still like so many windows and things to keep in mind. i still have to design all sorts of menus but if i can get the basic elements then its just arranging shit.
this is the main thing thats been like. halting dev on the game because i have to get the ui set up to properly implement all sorts of functions. i do alot of placeholder stuff but i find that it takes a lot of fiddling /going back to edit text and arrangments that i think i should get it out of the way first. i can polish it up layer, i suppose.
i have been paying alot of attention to the ui in games that i play to get some ideas. animations are gonna be hard to figure out.
other things achieved but lack cool visuals to wow and stun the masses:
i created a grid-based location/travel system. this means nothing to the player besides that the world should feel cohesive and put together despite the game being in 2d & text. there will be a mini map. the first area is a town & surrounding forest-y area. im very proud of the coding i did for the location system so please clap
inventory system is somewhat working. there are items and you can pick them up and they all have stats and descriptions. yay! The clothing system works too. You can dress up and the clothing all have style points so you can dress to impress or distress. It will be fun when I get to draw the icons for the clothing because I shifted the game's aesthetics more towards a whimsy victorian-esque thing and i have been endlessly scrolling through various lolita stores.
i created a way to store the npc's data in a nice way. i like objects so much even if it's pointless at times. it will be useful for the player's journal system, it will keep info on the npcs. npcs will have various stats to keep track of like love/dominance and relationship flags. and hopefully birthdays although i am running into an issue of "is this actually a good idea or am i going a little too kojima on this"
ive gotten pretty far for just 1 person and especially someone who doesnt have formal coding knowledge and is too anxious to dare ask any ppl on the forums. if i run into a problem i will just bang my head against it until i figure it out.
anyway idk bye i wanted to ramble bc im lonely

hello dear auction-goers welcome to my interface.
both offers are equal. i would need more convincing one way or the other to choose a vote. sweeten the pot or i will make no vote <3
im so sorry to anon but no logic can sway me i only base my votes off of the quality of the offer. <3
transcripts below bc idk how hard it is to read
left offer:
@apricityxs VOTE GEM FOR ONE (1) PEN AND TWO (2) DRY STICKS OF PASTA
right offer:
@/anon that’s a fair point my friend.. three paper clips AND i’ll add a piece of dryer lint to sweeten the deal
however how likely is gem gonna win in the next round against (maybe) Scott Smajor? at least with jimmy it’d be funny to see him get absolutely bodied . i’m picturing 5 to 95% vote differences
however there’s also the chance of him winning and that’s even better. “how the hell did he even get past scott??” “was this a tumblr glitch!!??” kind of confusion . crowds will riot chaos will erupt and whimsy and fun times will be had
#weasel speaks#asks!#my art#art#yes i want to make a profit off of this. and that will happen in the backpack#sexyman poll auction

Hiii I hope you’re doing well! 🤍 1, 2, 20, 21, & 26 for the ask :)
i am doing GREAT, having a lot of fun procrastinating multiple things -- i hope you are having a good day!
so, i answered 2 here!
1. where do you typically get your ideas?
mostly i just wanna put a guy in a situation hahaha. lately its a lot of "i have this belief about andrew and im gonna PROVE it to everyone." so, i guess the real answer to this is i get my ideas by thinking about characters, and then i find the appropriate way to show what their deal is!
20. What is your best piece of advice for writing smut scenes?
i made this post once, which i think is my main advice! i guess my only other thing is just that writing smut is the same as writing anything else, in that you'll have your own way of doing it. i think sometimes theres a tendency to put smut in a different category of writing skills -- and yeah, there are things that make it unique, and there is some universality to sex scenes just bc of like... human biology and anatomy hahaha. but also, it's still just your writing! so there's no need to compare yourselves to others/try to write smut the same way your fave authors do. the best sex scenes, imo, are ones that feel like the author felt comfortable writing.
21. What is your best piece of advice for writing romance scenes?
hmmmm. probably that romance looks different for everyone. romance trademarks are like, big confession scenes and passionate kisses and dates and saying "i love you." and those have their place, but maybe not for every character, and not for every story. romance is also, "i call you when im freaking out," or "i make sure you go to bed on time," or "i tell you this secret bc i trust that u won't turn it against me." these are actually examples of scenes id consider to be romantic climaxes of some of my fics haha. i kind of squeak and hide over traditional romantic stuff, and my versions of characters aren't rly that type either, so i never try to smoosh them into the archetypes.
26. How do you go about world building?
same as everything else -- i just kind of structure it to whatever makes it easiest for me to show the things im trying to show abt the characters. i mostly write in contemporary settings, so i don't have to do that much big picture work, but i try to fill the world around the characters with things that feel consistent and non-distracting. i think that setting is one of the most powerful ways to control mood, too -- like, no turning back is kinda angsty at its core, but the world includes a board game bar, which adds some whimsy to the story lmfao. and i like to think that story is kinda fun overall, because all the emotionally heavy stuff is happening in a fairly upbeat world.
in we can live forever, they're in high school, so the world is populated with things from my own experiences of being a teenager and also being a high school teacher. they have homework, they have parents who give them rules, they have shitty cars that they have to share with siblings. these things build the boundaries that remind the reader that these are stupid, besotted teens, and that's why they are being so foolish bahaha.

Ok. I’m thinking that self aware trope where reader gets teleported into the game cause of plot reasons, and the cookies are all ecstatic cause they revere reader and see them as a sort of god. Just that concept with lilac headcanons and rv headcanons cause they’re my two favorites. Tysm! Have fun with self aware!
IM FUCKING BACK TO WRITING LETS GOOOO!!!!!
Self aware is honestly a cute concept lol. Oh to have the little people in my phone worship me…..
—-
Lilac/Reader & Red Velvet/Reader
Notes: fluff, headcanons
Content warnings: a very brief “gore” (it’s just a mention of reds arm getting chopped when he was a kid) mention
A/N: I really like how people refer to the reader as the Baker in self aware fics so I stole that idea <3
Lilac
Lilac knows he was given a purpose, but what that purpose is, exactly, is unclear to him.
He has a faint memory that’s a bit fuzzy around the edges, but it’s a memory nonetheless. He figures it must be a remnant of another life, left in his “code” (if he really is to buy into the belief that he’s part of a game).
The clearest part of the memory is that he’s a mercenary-turned-bodyguard, but who he’s guarding remains a mystery. He knows it was some figure of royalty — someone very important, — but when he tries to picture the face of his charge, he always draws blanks.
When he hears that the Baker (as others referred to you as) has taken the form of a Cookie inside the game, Lilac reasons that it must be you that he’s to protect.
He starts off subtle, keeping his distance but also watching over you.
He silently dispatches a few wandering dangers before they can get too near to you, all while you remain none the wiser.
Some of the others have taken to the job of “protecting” you as well, but they mostly use it as an excuse to overstay their welcome around you.
As time goes on, and as you get more acquainted with the Cookies, Lilac finds himself drifting closer and closer.
The physical closeness translates to emotional closeness.
Eventually, he allows himself to set down his blades when you’re not in imminent danger.
He learns that you’re so much more than just a fabled figure. You may know him inside and out, but Lilac has yet to get to know you.
He listens to you talk for hours, content with silently sitting in your presence. Perhaps he’ll even allow himself to press his shoulder against yours, or to hold your gaze for just a few seconds longer before letting it flit away…
When you call, he’s there. Sometimes he’s there before you even need to call.
“I will protect you,” Lilac vows over and over. It’s the only way he’ll let himself say he loves you.
Red Velvet
What’s a god to a non-believer, exactly?
Red Velvet doesn’t understand, at first. Word of your power and otherworldliness reaches the corner of the Kingdom that he’s claimed for himself, but when he sees you in person, you just seem like, well, a person.
You’re not much different from himself, especially since you’ve taken on a cookie form.
Even Pomegranate looks to the ground when you walk by — a habit she’s only ever reserved for Dark Enchantress.
He could surely best you in every way possible! You hardly know how to swing a sword, much less block a swipe from his claws.
He’s wholly uninterested in the reverence the others take part in when you’re suddenly thrown into in the game itself.
One day, however, Red Velvet overhears you talking to some of the children, telling them some sweeping tale about your homeland.
^^Even Pancake has stilled to listen to your stories of massive mechanical steeds and vast kingdoms made of “concrete” (whatever that is).
Red Velvet hardly had a childhood, much less one of whimsy. The earliest memory he could recall was of his birth — waking into the white-hot as furious sparks cracked over the stump where his right arm once was.
He hadn’t even cooled off from the oven’s heat before he was forced to adapt and grow up.
Besides that terrible memory, all Red Velvet had was his imagination to occupy his time in the black nothingness before you set him free and called him “home.”
He wondered for so long if there was anything beyond that void, and now, here you were, weaving tales of grandeur beyond even that of his desperate imagination.
Red Velvet hungers for more. Every day, he sits just out of your sight and listens to your stories. He closes his eyes and pretends that he’s there, as some soft, round being with a fleshy nose and four fingers and a thumb on each hand.
Most of the time, you’re there with him.
You show him around the concrete kingdom in your steel beast and you take him to a huge indoor marketplace.
You walk through the corporate space and flick coins into big fountains in exchange for a wish and you eat cheap sodium-rich foods for extortionate prices and maybe you even sit next to him and hold his hand while you make up stories about each unique passerby.
Somewhere, beyond the confines of this liminal grassy plain, is a world where the average person doesn’t need to be versed in war tactics to survive. There’s a place where one doesn’t have to worry about their next meal. There’s a place where one can have a choice in who they are, rather than being written to be a specific way.
Red Velvet imagines being in that place a lot.
He would choose to be someone you can love.

im dying to know more about miffy is there anything you can share??
WOW ABSOLUTELY YES THANK YOU FOR ASKING <3 there's def certain stuff i wanna talk about but can't yet, but i can give u A Nice Introduction!
btw for campaign context: a religious order called The Church of the Broken Wave holds power over the land, and they outlaw the use of magic by anyone but themselves. some people are fighting back against the church, but Miffy is part of the people who are content in not doing so. she lives in the mage city of Leyfall which is carved out of the inside of several mountains. in Leyfall, folks teach magic, learn magic, research magic, and generally use magic freely without immediate threat from the Church. Leyfall is broadly self-sustaining, but make no mistake: this is a city populated heavily by academics who almost never see natural fucking sunlight bc they are stuck in a mountain
^ (here's a fun little collage of Miffy sketches!) (can you tell i really love drawing her!!!)
Miffy is a 32 year-old research scientist/research mage from Leyfall! she wasn't born there - she was born and raised by the coast, and came to Leyfall when she was 18. she was mentored by the woman who brought her to Leyfall, and she eventually worked her way to her own lab, her own research projects, and her own accolades.
she's very sociable, tries very hard to get along with folks, and loves making new friends, but when it comes to work she prefers to do her research alone. nearly all of her papers are single-author, save for her earliest ones with her mentor, and ten or so from a chunk of time a few years ago.
her favourite type of research work is anything that lets her blow shit up. her second-favourite type of research work is examination of the exact models that underpin the physics of magic. how can we define entropy in magic? how can we calculate it? what does it tell us?
out of a stupid formality, researchers in Leyfall publish under a pseudonym they just call their 'publishing name'. it's the equivalent of putting 'Dr.' in front of someone's name. Miffy's publishing name is 'Mephistopheles'.
there are a couple of rumours floating around the physical aetherology labs as to how Miffy ended up losing an eye and getting all of those scars. none of them are even remotely consistent, but all of them are equally convinced they're right.
Miffy is a woman of simple pleasures: she likes white wine, smoking weed & hanging out with her cat, having a good long cry on her chaise lounge every now and then, and sleeping in the sunbeams of light that come in through the mountains
Miffy got swept up in the campaign's current events out of sheer convenience (wrong place, wrong time), relentless whimsy, and the desire to just be around other people for a bit. she can afford to take some time off from work - might as well go on a journey about it.
basically miffy is like a 32 year-old postdoc who feels like her life has completely fallen apart despite the fact that she's actually pretty much fine. who then gets swept up in the murder of a government official and is like 'well. in for a penny.'
(combat-wise she's a black mage and her spells focus a lot on fire and lightning, with a few movement spells, etc etc)
i'm sorry this is so fucking long LOL thank you again for this ask....

Enchanted
finally finished this!!! im so happy with it, and will be writing it in thomas’s pov as soon as possible and perhaps part 2?
Sleep evades me. My mind keeps returning to last night, specifically to a certain person I had met last night. I pull the covers higher, burying my head as I finally gave into my wandering mind.
~
I stand alone, needing a break from my aunt Amelia. The music was beautiful, a soft sound that filled the entire room. The party itself was decorated in a magical way, the columns in the building encompassed in vines, the tables with floral centrepieces. It was a mixture of whimsy and magic, yet no one seemed happy to be here. Everyone I spoke to was forcing smiles, men faked laughter as they believed this was not a party but a way to make business deals and enforce their own reputation. It was absurd how no one was just admiring the effort people put into making this perfect. It was the same every month, I'd walk to the edge of the room and watch. To calm my nerves, to explore the different flower pieces, the musicians and the flickering candles from the chandelier. The gowns women wore only once to try and show their wealth, whilst I tended to wear the same, as it fit the magical atmosphere this room desperately tried to make people see, yet they were too blind by their greed, the need to prove themselves to everyone to just simply stand back and enjoy themselves.
My cousin Liza seemed to be in conversation with Dacina, the host of the party, someone I had spoken to a few times, each being more enjoyable. Her calming demeanour and charm always lifted my spirits. Her family organizes this ball once a month, her father hates it but makes a lot of business so it is always left to her to plan and design it. With the help of Illeana and lots of their servants they always make this place ethereal. Her brother, Thomas Cresswell, only ever shows up for a few hours then leaves, only being able to handle the faking niceties for so long. Dacina told me of his tolerance, or lack thereof, to society. She speaks highly of her brother, as I once did, yet I have never met Mr.Cresswell.
The varnished wooden floor slowly gathers marks as couples danced. How I longed to be one of those dancers, being swivelled by someone I loved. They would look at me as if I was the most magical thing in the room, with a soft smile and adoration in every word he whispers to me. I would be his equal as we spun around, the world fading into nothing as we held each other. Alas, those dreams are not likely for someone cruel enough to carve the dead.
I snap out of my fantasy as a group of older men walk towards the buffet near me. They talk loud enough so everyone can hear, shockingly talking about work. I roll my eyes at them and look away back to the dance floor. The lights above cast shadows, making the scene feel like my imagination as I sit by a fireplace to read a romance novel. If this was a novel, there would be my love interest here, watching and finding the courage to say something. There are families at the table, children clinging to mothers as the men sit and discuss whatever. My father, uncle and aunt sit together in a seemingly civil conversation. I look for Liza again, deciding I should probably stop brooding in the corner but as I look for her my attention keeps going back to the men at the buffet. Not by choice, but by their obnoxious decision to shout their conversation.
“A woman led the strike, ridiculous, she had to go,” I heard an oldish man say, followed by murmurs of agreement, “these strikes are out of hand, demanding we pay more, absurd notions.” The man is none other than Mr. Birling, a notoriously cold hearted man, much like dacianas father apparently, both of whom value money rather than people. Even their own families. The group of men who looked the same as him, slightly wrinkled face, greyish hair, miserable faces with hints of conniving schemes being plotted against each other. Friends until one of them was earning more money and was more successful, then they were enemies again.
The men were in a heated discussion about their business and from what I can dissect from their ramblings is that they fully believe themselves to be hard working men, a rarity these days, and they must do what is necessary for their companies. Meaning, budget cuts, strikes from workers, firing people, and any horrible decision in the name of money. I refrain from rolling my eyes, or going over to berate them.
“Mr. Birling would not know what a hard day's work is.” someone says quietly behind me. His voice is smooth, confident, and whilst I agree due to what I have learnt about the birling family and the conversation I had just overheard, I still wouldn't say it aloud with him being this close. Not that he pays any attention to anyone but ‘hard working men’.
I turn my head slightly, the man behind me is tall, a smirk playing at his lips. His suit is finely tailored in a dark grey, with a peach tie. He takes a step forwards and stands at my side, staring out into the crowd, a glass of half drunk champagne in his hand. I return my gaze to the crowd. “Whatever makes you think that, surely you heard him talk about how much he works,” I try to suppress my own smirk and I also sneak a glance at the strange man. He merely takes a sip of his champagne.
“Right of course, his words, I shall listen more closely next time.”
“As you should. You wouldn't want to misinterpret someone's work ethic and make a fool of yourself in front of a stranger.”
“You consider me a fool now?” he turns to me now, hands pressed against his chest in fake offence. His brown eyes meet mine as I face him. His sharp cheekbones feel familiar, but I can't place where from.
“Yes. how could you consider someone such as Mr Birling, a man with such talent and tolerance of others, a man who clearly built his company and was not handed it by his father, how could you with a straight face imply he doesn’t know hard work.” we stare at each other for a few seconds, then burst out laughing. He has such a pure laugh, we seem to be the only sound in the room. People around us stop and stare, upset two people are having fun at a party. The stranger leans against one of the columns, disrupting the vines slightly. Yet he doesn't seem to care, as he slowly starts to regain his composure from our outburst.
Mr. Birling is one of the men looking at us with full disdain. He perceives us as two kids who do not understand life, he specifically tells his accountant that there is something wrong with us if the rumours are to be believed. Children of science. Outrageous. Especially a girl. A girl, not a woman. I ignore his pathetic whining, intent on not letting him ruin my night and return my focus to the stranger. Who, I realise, is someone who enjoys science. His face is more solemn now, having also overheard Mr.Birling. He quickly recovers and plasters a smirk on his face, a spark shines in his eye and I can already tell this won't be good.
“I want to meet this ‘girl’ who led the strike, perhaps she could use some help. I mean, all they ask is fair pay,”
“But fair pay is absurd. Completely and utterly absurd. Why should the wealthy share their wealth to those who ensure it.” he finishes for me. The men that run this world will end up being the reason it fails. We share a look, full of understanding and he lets out a sigh. Now we're talking about work and politics at a party.
“Aside from those charming men, how are you enjoying the party?” He gestures to the men around us and I snort. Charming was one word for them. Being with him and trading remarks felt like passing notes to each other, telling secrets during class even though we are meant to be listening to the teacher. I can't help but think I know him, and by the look in his own face he knows me. Perhaps we met but didn't have time for a full conversation like we are now.
“Mostly entertaining, the place is spectacular as always, the people are..” I searched for a word to describe the people, as well as my family. I love them dearly but they can be insufferable. “An interesting mix. My family is dramatic, so I escaped to the edge to peace and quiet, which apparently isn't possible. "I give him a pointed look but he takes no notice.
“My family is also dramatic, and I came for peace myself but found myself captivated by you, specifically how you watched the crowd, listening, and how you curled your fists in an attempt not to go and publicly humiliate the poor man. Which, by the way, I think you should've. Would've made the whole thing worth it.” He takes a sip of his champagne and I nearly roll my eyes at him. Of course he'd want that. From what I can tell he isn't someone who enjoys society and has no problem saying it. I also think about the families in attendance and which of those are dramatic. The only person I can think of is Darci's brother, whom I've not met but heard about his nature over wine with her.
“If I was merely standing here minding my business would you still have found me captivating enough to talk to me? Or is my appeal in my anger?”
He downs the rest of the drink and straightens himself taking a step towards me. I cross my arms, impatient but he gives me a soft smile. “I've been trying to get the courage to talk to you for months, I always see you here at the edge, always. My eyes find you instantly in any crowd. Transfixed, captivating. It was an added bonus to me when I saw the fierce nature in your eyes up close, I knew I was right to want to befriend you.”
Silence falls as we both take in his words. I feel bad, not being able to figure out who he is. His honesty is admirable and makes me smile, as well as blush. I can feel heat rise to my cheeks. Just as I begin to rectify the situation by asking for his name, a man comes behind
me, he’s around 40 probably, and looks at me horrendously in an attempt at a smile. I recognised him from earlier, he's one of the men that spoke with Mr Birling and that alone makes me instantly want to recoil.
“Can I help you sir?” I asked and I can hear my own clipped words, yet somehow he does not. The smile widens and he looks me up and down. Then he offers his hand to me and I realise he wants to dance. With a woman half his age, that he has never met.
“Miss Wadsworth, dance with me?” more of a common than a question. Since I am already highly aware he doesn’t like when females have opinions or say no, I refrain from rolling my eyes and just walking off from him. Instead I take a step back, so I'm by my new friend’s side and smile widely.
“I'm afraid I already promised the darling Wadsworth a dance, we are just finishing our drinks first.” As if to prove my point he drinks the last of his drink, mostly to hide his smirk. Something else the man doesn't seem to notice. His face drops, but his pride makes him believe he can stand there, waiting for me to run to him. There is an awkward silence until I feel hands reach down and take mine, they are warm and make me jump slightly at the contact. Not in a bad way, not in the way I would have if it had been the man in front of me with his gaze like fire as he looks at our joined hands as though he has a right to be mad about it. I feel my own fire burn as he stares, so I tug his hand away from the man. I need to just escape into the dreamlike nature of the dancefloor, as well as thank my saviour and learn his name.
He leads me to the dance floor, nearer the edge and his hands slip down to my waist as I find his shoulders. His touch is hesitant but reassuring. Somehow he looks calm and terrified, as though he never expected to dance with me but never wants to stop. I can't help but feel the same as we begin to move. My skirt swirls around us and we say nothing for a while as we both calm ourselves and let the music envelope us. In a way, this is as close to my daydreaming as I might ever get. Being here on the dance floor with someone who isn't twice my age and the definition of misogyny. We dance as equals, neither of us truly leading but letting each other float around each other. We're sure of our movements and demand nothing from each other. It is a weird calmness that settles. We are strangers as far as i know, and yet we dance as though we have known each other our entire lives.
“You are a delight, miss Wadsworth.” he breaks the silence, somehow louder than the music for me, yet it's quiet. Almost like he didn't mean to say it aloud.
“How do you know me?” my voice matches and i feel bad asking, but i need to know. My tone is not accusing, and his face only burrows in confusion for a second before he smirks at me. A smirk I'm seeming to become familiar with.
“My sister Dacina speaks highly of you.” my eyes must expand as he laughs softly. That's why I recognized him. He has the same structure as Dacina, sharp cheekbone and soft skin. Perfect complexion.
“So you are the infamous Thomas cresswell?” this time I smirk and his eyes widen.
“Infamous? What on earth have you heard of me?”
“Your sister has lots of opinions on you.”
“Of course she does. Whatever she has said is most likely not true.” He blurts out and I laugh at his relationship with his sister and him wanting to impress me. “Unless she told you I am utterly irresistible, charming, quick witted and incredibly smart.” winking at me he sends me into a surprising spin and my hands land on his chest. We've sped up slightly, yet our heartbeats are both faster than necessary and I can see a hint of a blush creeping up on his cheeks.
“She did mention you have an overly large ego. She'll be happy to know I agree with her.” I feel his hands tighten at my waist slightly and I watch his curls fall down in his face as he shakes his head. I'm delighted by this turn of events. Daci is wonderful, and if this is the Thomas that I get to see, not his reputation, then I shall try and keep this in my life for as long as possible. His spark in his eyes shows how he may think the same. Also, if daci, liza and ileana are with Thomas, then i might have the most fun I've ever had in my life.
His voice slides through my thoughts, but also reinforces them. “I am sure she failed to mention how big of an ego she has. Honestly, Darci is worse than I. Have you met Illeana? She will surely agree with me on this.”
“I'm sure she would, I've also heard you are a scientist, what do you study?”
“The dead. Much like you and your uncle.” There is so much certainty in his voice, no resentment or the usual tone I hear so I gift him an earnest smile.
The song ends, and we stand, hands still on each other for a second longer than we should. Just as I go to remove my hands from his chest I feel him pinch my sides lightly. Then his warm hands slip from my waist and I wish more than anything to dance again.
We go to return back to the column near the buffet, where we first spoke, and as I take a step I feel him move so he's pressed at my back, his hands finding mine. Even though we are gloved, even though no one can see our hands due to how close we are, and how many people are moving about, my heart pounds at his bold nature. I adore it, so I squeeze him and keep my head facing forward as I lead him off the dance floor. We settle back, Thomas letting go of my hand to pick up two glasses of champagne and hands me one. We both take a long sip, perhaps settling our brains or making it worse. Well see.
“You look,” he pauses, as if trying to find the right words, brows furrowed slightly as if he was reading a dictionary, “enchanting.” he finally finishes, gifting me a rare smile it seems. No longer does he smirk at me, but shows me a genuine look that I want to have painted as it is the best thing I have witnessed. Heat rises to my cheeks as I look down at my dress. Someone at least understood what I was going for, with a pale peach colour, sparkling bodice that runs along the length of the skirt. The long sleeves adorned with tiny gemstones, golden to match the accented colours of the hall. In response to Thomas I look back up at him with my own genuine smile, perhaps some of the only true smiles to be shared this evening. His suit fits him perfectly, showing off his defined features, his tie a pale peach as well. I assume Dacina helps him, as her dresses always astound me with the details. There are tiny, miniscule gems on his tie, that snake down and remind me of vines.
“You look,” I act the way he did, scanning my brain for something that fits, handsome or charming doesn't do justice but I'm sure whatever I use will only boost his ego and be used against me, so I settle with: “bedazzling.”
“Bedazzling?”
“Thomas, I study the dead, I have to look closer than one should at things, so of course I noticed your tie. Henceforth: bedazzling.” The air shifts back to our teasing tone and he smirks once again.
“You are the only one to notice, except Daci of course, nothing gets past her. Am I correct in assuming you like the tie?” Despite his teasing I feel a hint of worry as if I wouldn’t like his tie.
“I adore the tie cresswell, everyone here should be weaning ties with tiny jewels.”
His face falls as he scans the crowd, eyes narrowing slightly as he takes in the groups of men. “I cannot tell if you are being serious with me or not, but I agree nonetheless. The men here are awfully drab, boring, plain. It's insulting to us really. Daci puts so much time into making this beautiful and these people do not see it.” He is shaking his head. I agree, I have heard how much work goes in and despite my effort to help she insists that I do nothing but enjoy the party. I have a sneaking suspicion though that Liza helps. The flower centrepieces are her favourite, and whilst that might be a coincidence I know how stubborn and convincing she can be.
“I do. I love her parties. I always find myself standing here, watching and noticing all the changes from the month prior. Like, last month she went for more of a red theme, with red roses as the centrepieces, little red accented chairs and carpets. Whereas this month is more of a forestry vine, hence the vines around the column.” I point as though they are a secret thing you need to search for even though they are obvious. Yet he turns anyway and runs his finger down the length of it with his adorable face set at a soft smile. Thomas might have been there when she got the idea, or placed them or he might have placed them himself and is now remembering it.
My gaze finds Thomas and he looks at me, baffled, and I feel the blush creeping back up. It is not the same confused look that I get when I tell people my love of science, but one of intrigue. As if he could listen to me talk forever and not get bored. It's as if he has never thought anyone would notice such things about his family's party. “Enchanting.” is all he whispers to me. Then he clears his throat, an ever so soft shake of his head as though once again the words were meant for him and not us both.
I stare out at the crowd again. I'm sure my family will want to know where I've disappeared to, I normally do not leave them this long. Liza I'm sure will want to know why I danced with Thomas. Yet the thought of leaving him makes my legs leaden and my heart sink and anchor me right next to him. Im completely wonderstruck, and feel ill have a permanent blush, especially when i look at his stupidly handsome face, his quick smirk and small smiles that feel special. It is odd, I've only heard stories, spoken to him briefly and danced, yet I have enjoyed his company immensely and hope this never ends. I want more dances and to steal more smiles to keep forever. I want to make fun of people together, and dance.
I go to steal a glimpse of him, expecting to find him staring at the crowd like I was but his eyes are on me. “I have to leave,” his abrupt words anchor me in an entirely different way, “I mean, I want to stay and I'm sure you want my amazing presence always now Wadsworth but I have to wake early. New job. So, my darling, I shall see you tomorrow.” Thomas hesitates for half a second and begins to walk away. I watch him go and say goodnight to his sister and then leave. His words fill my head. It’s reassuring to know he enjoys my company as much as I do.
~
I bolt upright in my bed, the lights, music and memories falling away as I focus on the last words he said to me.
I'll see you tomorrow.
What does tomorrow mean? Does it mean he has a job where he thinks I visit? Will he be making an effort to befriend me? Does he know my family? I am so confused. How had I not caught these words sooner? Perhaps he wants to tell me he had a terrible time, that he doesn't like my presence. I'm on my feet without realising, pacing back and forth, the cold air hugging me close. I wish he was in front of me now. I wish he would whisper the words enchanting again. I wish I knew what was happening in a few hours that warranted him saying those four words. I run my hands over my face, untie my hair and let my curls fall over my shoulder, brushing away the colder ever so slightly. I'm ridiculous. Four tiny words sent me spiralling. I climb back into bed, my hair fanning out around me and the blanket returning warmth back into my system. Immediately my mind returns to Thomas, his face forever in my mind. Even if tomorrow could be the last time I see him, there is a chance that it is just the start.
Enchanting…
Those words fill me with confidence that yes, Thomas might become someone special to me. That perhaps our dance sparked something and now all I wish is that I can tell him how enchanting he is.

SO i just finished wonder egg priority and i think that with confidence i can say it has been one of my favorite animes like... ever ?? and not even from hyperfixation or obsession over it just... its so fucking real yet so simple in a way that i havent rlly seen shown in any other shows you feel ??
but first i wanna talk about how sexy the art and animation is real quick... HOMIE ITS SO GOOD LIKE EVERYTHING ABOUT IT JUST... serotonin... the characters are all so unique and iconic and fun but not over the top in their designs yknow ??? they seem like regular every day girls but they stand out and theyre all sO CUTE !!!! also i love how the style is like this soft bubbly slice of life lookin stuff with bright happy colors and the most beautiful scenes you could find but they also have the SICKEST fight scenes complete with whimsical animal helpers and terrifying villains and crazy weapons unique to each character. and the animation. god DAMN shawty i am obsessed with everything in this show. i might make a post solely about the art later lol bc i wanna get into the other stuff.
so the themes in the show right ?? it starts just as this cute lil magical girl kinda deal but within the first episode we see that like.. oh damn... thats kinda heavy... tbh i was a little shocked and thought about stopping bc yknow bad mental health BUT i was so intrigued that i had to keep going and i am SO GLAD that i did. because this show just so beautifully discusses all these heavy topics in such an eloquent and artistically expressive way. and also like, , the juxtaposition of the charming childlike vibe with bright colors and 14 yr old girl protagonists against the dark themes of suicide and so much else,, i think is just perfect. bc a lot of heavy animes are more of the seinen genre and have some middle aged dude as a protag or make the entire color palette dim or offer little relief to the pain of these heavy themes right ?? but NO not wonder egg bitches B) because these problems arent just things that ppl face later in life or just problems that need to be talked about among adults or the edgy seinen watching squad,, these are REAL problems that face people of every age, gender etc and i think its awesome that wonder egg addresses that. some may cringe at the thought of their high schooler watching animes that discuss sexual harassment, suicide, abuse, self harm, eating disorders etc,, but in reality it is the most comforting thing i have ever come across and is basically jsut free anime therapy. because not only does wonder egg present these themes to the viewers as something real that happens to all kinds of people (making said people feel heard in a way that maybe they hadnt before), but it also makes sure to vanquish all of these forms of trauma. and the way the trauma is vanquished isnt always beautiful and it isnt always just magically gone with a poof. the struggles of overcoming or living with that sort of thing are shown in such a real and relatable way that addresses every hardship trauma survivors have to go through. and i just. god i cry bro.
oh m y GOD and the lgbtq+ rep in this show ?? like shawty... as soon as i saw episode one i was picking up on some gay/lesbian themes but then again im sapphic and project that a lot so i tend to see that sort of stuff like... everywhere... but NE WAYS... episode ten made me FUKCING CRY BRO LIke i cant believe there was a whole trans character with a whole trans pride hoodie like LKGHKDGH my heart is just so.. so fucking full thinking about him. bc like yeah i know there are trans characters in anime but i feel like theyre always very ambiguous about actually being trans or not or erased or portrayed as a harmful stereotype or theyre constantly misgendered and still refered to as their assigned gender at birth and i hate it. HOWEVEr... Kaoru.. *chefs kiss* it was so amazing to see a character straight up say “yeah im trans” in such a casual yet powerful way bc i personally have never seen that before. and i love love loved how he went into his backstory and talked to momoe about gender bc i think thats what she rlly needed and that it helped her find herself and it makes me so happy oh my god,, and the way they talked about it never seemed forced or like it was the focal point of his existence yknow ?? like yeah he existed to help momoe overcome some of her trauma but he also just existed to be HIM yknow ?? also... personally, i headcanon momoe as a trans girl even though i dont remember it being explicitly stated plus the school scenes of her and stuff would seem like they suggest otherwise ??but,,, SHAWTY THE AMOUNT OF SUBTEXT and her complicated relationship w gender is... something i feel like a cis girl would not go through so harshly yknow ?? with all of the questioning and feeling detached from femininity or feeling like ppl dont see her as an actual girl and only like her as a guy or for her masculine traits,,, but dont take my word on this bc i myself am a cis girl but that was just my take on it as someone in the lgbtq+ community trying to educate myself on the transgender community :) either way,, wonder eggs portrayal of momoe and kaoru and the way that momoe becomes so passionate about expressing herself the way she wants to as a girl is just... good lord im gonna cry its so perfect,,,.so ... i just love this show way too much. i also am honestly super lost about the relationship btwn acca and ura-acca ?? bc i was gonna mention ura-acca as a canonically gay guy bc when i was watching i interpreted ep 11 as him being in love with acca and being jealous of Azusa (bc i mean,, they lived together (i swear to god there was only one bed in that apartment) and had a daughter together and def loved each other and also when Frill said they were husbands and then when ura-acca said he wasnt attracted to azusa but he was def jealous of their relationship ??) but then i saw somewhere that theyre brothers ?? which would make sense ig since they look kinda similar and accas daughter called ura-acca “uncle”.. but at the same time its ANIME SO THEY ALL LOOK SIMILAR and referring to gay couples as siblings is an EXTREMELY common euphemism soooo... IM JUST LOST HERE... but yeah i tried doing research and found different things so i cant say anything for sure >:( however,,, if they are canonically a lil fruity for each other... when frill refered to acca as ura-accas husband i imploded dude you never hear that sort of wording in anime.. but if theyre related i am so sorry.
god this is so much longer than i planned it to be oops but i also love the theme about like.. relying on friends to help carry your weight but at the same time not becoming completely dependent on those friends and using their support to learn how to love yourself and rely on yourself yknow ?? bc that is exactly what healthy friendships look like. bc i think ai sort of had a codependency thing goin on with koito maybe ?? but now she has a whole squad of funky friends that are so so different but all struggle with different kinds of trauma and although they fight over it, they always get through it with each other together. and they push each other no matter what to be the best versions of themselves and they teach other that getting hurt is okay because theyre always gonna be there to pick up the pieces no matter what happens. they can give each other space when they need and adapt to meet each others needs but theyre always able to balance it out with their own needs and thats such a beautiful thing in friendships especially at their age like damn i wish i had that maturity when i was 14 but no all i had was depression. another thing is that through these friendships you get to see all the different sides of each girl; you get to see them being strong or a shining light to their friends when theyre hurting but you also get to see them being hurt and weak and allowing themselves to be on the receiving end of the comfort. their friendships allows them to have weaknesses but it also allows them to highlight their strengths and thrive off of each others. I LOVE FRIENDSHIP DUDE
next i wanna briefly mention some of the themes connected to suicide that ive noticed. a big one is the survivors guilt that ai feels once koito is dead. several times she screams that she wishes she couldve gone with koito and she dreams of a “perfect world” where they committed a double suicide. one of the main reasons for her troubles is that she blames herself for koitos death and feels like it should be her thats dead... but at the same time she feels like too much of a coward to do anything now that koito is gone. she just has all these complex and contradicting feelings that wear away at her in ways that ppl that havent gone through the suicide of a loved one could never imagine. a lot of the times when things like this are portrayed in media i feel like its more in a way thats meant to guilt trip those that have taken their own lives and paint suicide as this selfish sin thats unforgivable but... not only does wonder egg reject that idea and instead portray it as a heartbreaking tragedy with,,, so so many terrible reasons, but it focuses on the feelings of ai separate from koito without blaming her in any way. not once did i feel like the show antagonized koito or that ai blamed koito for doing any of this, but they simply mourned her loss and touched on ais reaction towards the event but separate from koito herself if that makes sense. and i think that discussing survivors guilt without painting koito as the bad guy is something so beautifully done in wonder egg that can really resonate with those that have lost a loved one to suicide and have struggled with these same things.
okay i think this is the last thing ill mention,,, but HOMIE THE PARALLEL UNIVERSE BIT AT THE END. I AM. OBSESSED. i am such a whore for anything about the multiverse okay n e ways...,, not only did this make a super epic trippy ending of season one and add a little bit more magical girl whimsy to the show,, but it had such a powerful message. from the perspective of og ai,, finding out that you killed yourself in another world is... i mean its definitely not a surprise but at the same time it rlly makes you think how close og ai herself couldve been to that point and what decisions led her out of that dark place in her life. if i were in her shoes i would be terrified and id cry bc the thought of going back to such a dark place and actually going through with something like that is my worst fear and probably something that ai fears too. but at the same time,,, think from the perspective of ai two !!! like yeah its true that theres this awful terrible version of ai that dies but theres also a whole version of ai that is a superhero magical girl fighting off monsters to save countless ppls lives !! and she has a badass lizard and a gang of awesome friends !!! at first i was worried that ai two would be jealous of og ai and compare herself to her and feel inferior but like.. THEYRE LITERALLY THE SAME PERSON AND CAPABLE OF THE SAME THINGS !!! and ai two realized that !! just within the span of one episode, she went from the version of ai who took her life,, to the version of ai jumping in front of a friend to take a bullet for them and save their life. and that just inspired THE SHIT OUT OF ME. i think that ai was sent another version of herself to sort of beat her own worst enemy yknow ?? those doubts and fears that shes no good or that shes that same bystander from episode one and that she hasnt changed at all. but getting to interact with her parallel self and see her grow was just what she needed to realize that while yeah sometimes the worst thing can happen and things can be terrible but on the other hand sometimes the most wonderful thing imaginable can happen because she has the power to do either.
so im gonna go ahead and stop rambling bc i got all my thoughts out that i wanted to for this post :D but yeah lol i might make another if i feel like it sometime. long story short: this show is perfect and it is going on my favorite of all times.

Oh, I'm so happy to hear that you're back! Or that you'll be back lol. Uh, you don't have to take this request now, ofc. But I figured I'd send it before I ended up forgetting about it: I adored your Jonathan Love HCs, and I'd like to ask for the same thing for Jervis Tetch? If you're okay with that. Thank you!
oh i will try my best 2 remember how i write 4 jervis, for u anon <3
When they discover they’re got a crush: hard for him to tell the difference between just enjoying company or a genuine crush, the line blurs real bad for jervis, he really just has to sit down and think very hard about things to realize when somethings a crush or not? How they confess/hint: very extravagantly, very suddenly, very in-character sort of confession..... hints would probably include showing hes thinking of his crush/you, gifts like flowers and hats he thinks you would look nice in, things that remind him of you....... hes also an affectionate guy, so it’s not surprising he’s touchy-feely, but it’s almost like hes making any excuse 2 b physically affectionate w you............. Big gestures of love: talking to you like a person, and not a character. it’s hard for him to connect on a real-world level w ppl & uses the whole wonderland characters thing as a sort of defense, like an emotional wall kinda? he’ll talk to you without playing up his words or putting any “whimsy” behind it..... Little gestures of love: trying to cook/bake for you, making you a cup of tea/coffee/hot cocoa without you asking him, even if hes not making any for himself. getting books he thinks you may like, even if it’s just from reading the summary and cover..... also playing with ur hair if u let him How to win their heart: listen to him, play along when hes playing up his act, laugh with him & not at him, stay with him when he’s not playing a role. treat him carefully and kindly, and well... it’s not everything, but some heartfelt, genuine compliments do go a long way How to break their heart: take things he’s said in confidence to you, trusted to tell you, and use it against him. being a genuine bully to him after playing up an act of being his friend/possible partner. poke fun at things that mean a lot to him(or, destroy something that means a lot to him, if you want him to cry even harder than he would already) Tiny little turn-ons: very tender hand kisses, specifically from u to him, also being very forward w him Big turn-ons: 👉👈 um..... verbal teasing but only sometimes....... lacy lingerie uhhhh......... ok thats all im saying here Things that make their heart flutter: if you remember something very specific he’s said before, and show that u remember, it lets him know u listen to him & retain what he’s saying which is, well, not something he’s had much before, it makes him feel like his words mean something to u...... also if u hold him ie are big spoon, come up & wrap ur arms around him, etc etc Their type: he falls for a lot of blonde, kind+quiet types but he could technically fall for anyone, really Ideal date: his ideal date is nowhere near possible or realistic, so.... a nice several-course meal for two, a walk through the park in the spring when the flowers are blooming, stars are twinkling, and the moon is as full as its ever been....... bright moonlight and dim streetlights illuminating the area while you both enjoy yourselves & ur time together under the stars <3 Past relationships: well we all know how those go for jervis How they might affect current relationships: he’d feel nervous about messing up this time around, given how badly he’s fucked up in the past. he might keep things at a snail’s pace, even if he feels like its too slow, because he doesnt want to rush and get too overzealous and, well, mess up something he has potential happiness in ‘Goals’ in a relationship (marriage, kids, a house, etc): his dream is to live in a cozy little cottage on the edge of some woods, with at least one partner(married or not), a nice little corner of the world that belongs to him & his beloved! hes not sure if hed want to start a family, he may want to one day, Any other love headcanons: some things he wld like 2 do but is too shy 2 ask about include; reading to u, buying clothes or accessories for u, asking if u wld like 2 Partake In Substances w him is one he’s less nervous 2 ask but still nervous nonetheless

Kristen Lockhart (Im)Proper Nouns By Donna Sparrowhawk Book Review
In the collection of poems, (Im)Proper Nouns, poet Donna Sparrowhawk utilizes an effortless flow and rhythm within and between her poems. Some of my favorite literary tools she uses throughout her poems are imagery and metaphors. Her collection is split into three sections, that are the nouns persons, places, and things. The poems within each section complement each other nicely as well as the three sections to form the whole collection. Sparrowhawk’s themes and imagery gives insight to a well-rounded and fulfilling life so far as well as holds hope for a fulfilling life to come. In the section titled Persons, Sparrowhawk has an array of poems, some dedicated to someone by use of their name, others with a more metaphorical title. The poem “Even Now I Listen,” is a pretty straight forward poem about the speaker’s dad. I really appreciate the glimpse into the speaker’s relationship with her father growing up. She hones in on the relationship between her and her father through her diction and metaphors.
“I know what tone you would use Soft, sliding your words under The door of my pain-induced silence.” I like the imagery that this stanza creates. I imagine a teenage daughter distraught and not wanting to talk to anyone, but her dad is the one who can truly reach her in these times. As if gently whispering through the crack of her door or sliding a letter with some heartbreak advice on it. In the last stanza, the speaker is reminiscing on times when her father could give her advice in person.
“Would you lift your eyes to mine and gently with your Fatherly tenderness, sweep the hair fallen in my eyes Remind me
To lessen fear…love more.”
She is admittedly fearful and doubtful of something throughout this poem. Perhaps, felt she was not ready to take on some things in her life without her father always being right there with her. All she has is these memories and can only imagine the advice that her father could give her now. Because of the vulnerability, I feel like this poem is a lovely and intimate glimpse into the speaker and maybe even the poet’s life. Moreover, in the poem “Not Quite a Sonnet for Susan on Her Sixtieth Birthday,” Sparrowhawk has a very compelling free form as well as great diction to portray the speaker’s feelings towards “Susan.” The poet reflects on her own use of form in which she originally intended a sonnet that actually became a free form poem.
“I tried to write you a sonnet for your birthday… abab cdcd efef gg but the fact of the matter is you are definitely free verse and otherwise and wise.”
She admittedly switches gears from a sonnet form to a free form. Moreover, I like the analogy of comparing her friend, Susan, to a free form poem herself. As well as the wordplay in “…you are definitely free, verse and otherwise, and wise.” Moreover, she utilizes lots of little comments inside of parentheses throughout the poem.
“extraordinarily fun deliciously irreverent outlandishly chi-ful (and I love it that you know what that means)”
The use of her parenthetical inserts creates more intimacy between her and the friend receiving this gift. She adds some fun, witty inside jokes and personality. And the way she describes Susan; the words she uses, “extraordinary, deliciously irreverent.” She is describing a deep admiration of everything that makes Susan the way she is. While keeping few elements of a sonnet throughout the piece, the author iterates that her Susan cannot be described in any one form. She reminisces on the first time they met recalls specific details with her imagery and describes the instant connection the friends had. I love the final line of the poem, comparing Susan to a child, having the same whimsy and wonder as a newly Sixty year old woman. And ending the poem on an ellipse as to say that her and Susan’s friendship and story is far from over. Much like in the poem about her father, the speaker creates an intimacy between not only her and the person the poem is dedicated to, but also her and the reader. She does so through the use of parentheses, her imagery in describing her memories, and her witty metaphors. The first poem in the “Places” section of the book is one of my favorites called, “Musings on a Train.” I find the setting of this poem so refreshing. She truly captures what it is to feel like you are in the story itself with this poem. “I glance out as sheep newly shorn And young, bolt as the train Whistles, and the old ewes lazily graze, Ignoring the fray.”
I am fortunate to have ridden on a train in England as well, especially as someone who lives in Florida with very few, if any, passenger trains. This poem describes to calm whimsy of riding on a train traveling past hills and grassy fields. A quite relatable stanza in this piece, is as follows:
“I doze in strange comfortable discomfort Drifting in and out, nestled against my Ferdinand’s Jacket, crumpled on the table under my head.”
Though, not all readers might have had the experience of riding a train, the images she creates can certainly come to life in the reader’s imagination. I particularly love the phrase, “comfortable discomfort,” to describe falling asleep on a train. Again, maybe not all readers would know this as exactly as described, but I feel like the sensation of trying to fall asleep on a bus or car even, can be a strangely calming scenario in a not quite so comfortable vessel. Especially if you are riding in said vehicle with a loved one. The scene described in this poem is that of a comfortable, daily event that is intimate between the speaker and a loved one. Sparrowhawk’s imagery allows the readers a glimpse into the speaker’s life because of her descriptions of this sweet life. Another one of my absolute favorite pieces is “Ballad of Equeurdreville.” Sparrowhawk’s effortless rhyme scheme creates a hilariously witty and whimsical story in this poem. I love how while reading this poem the reader gets a scene laid out in front of them of this funny banter between a traveling couple.
“My, what a pleasant urban walk! said he As she dodged the biker […] I’m sure my mate said repast was just beyond this hill A lovely place for dinner, in lovely Equeurdreville.
Why, yes, my love! cooed she to he Somewhat loudly over the roar of the passing lorry.”
From the very first line, the setting is being described as “urban” and disruptive with the biker needing to be dodged, as well as the “roar of the passing lorry.” Yet, the positive attitudes of this couple is already creating a humorous build up.
“I fear a restaurant I will never see, said he. Her reply reassuringly whispered, perhaps more a shrill— Do you think we’ll ever bloody find this Equeurdreville?”
“[…] I dare say one can look from here to eternity, said he. But no sign, no hope of food, nor drink—no, nada, nil In this, this, uh…lovely…Equeurdreville.”
The couple have a shift in attitude the longer it takes for them to find this restaurant. I particularly love the last line of that stanza; it makes it seem like a sassy narrator is reading this poem aloud to the reader. “Oh my, said she. Oh my, indeed, said he As they walked and pondered what was the key Don’t know, said she, but make out a Will Next time you suggest to me Equeurdreville!”
The final stanza after the couple had finished their long awaited meal in Equeurdreville, we get the final round of witty commentary. The poem ends on a silly joke as well, adding to the fun nature of the rest of the poem. This poem reminded me of the whimsical ways of rhyming of Dr. Seuss. This poem is different from the other poems in the collection due to its playful theme. Yet it still holds the particular style especially when it comes to Sparrowhawk’s romantic diction and intimacy between characters. The contrast in playfulness from this poem compared to more mature themes in other poems, as well as her consistent rhyming scheme shows how talented and versatile Sparrowhawk is with her writing. Finally, in the section “Things,” there is a poem entitled, “Twilight,” that has just more of that calming scenery that Sparrowhawk paints.
“It’s that time of day again… The light, in its fade Softens… Well, softens Everything.”
This opening stanza creates such a lovely setting with just a few simple phrases, which is magical. I also love the third stanza continues with this serene imagery and the fourth begins to introduce another theme into this poem.
“I wonder if the fox Will make his appearance tonight Now that you, Not I, Are absent.
“I’ve missed you today I should have been with you today, But, painfully I really couldn’t Because we You and I Know how to love.” The speaker is describing beautiful scenery yet is lonely or missing her loved one. Yet, I gather this is the type of missing someone when they are just out for the day, perhaps at work.
“I know you are on your Way back to me now.
Warm soup is waiting And music, and me,
The words can wait.”
The lines of her poetry feel comfortable and familiar. Sparrowhawk has been able to take sorrow in her poems such as this one and spin it around into hope. This entire collection of poems by Donna Sparrowhawk reflects on a life filled with beauty and love for these persons, places, and things. She uses wonderous imagery and metaphors to describe these loved ones and locations in such intimate detail. The warmth, wit and charm in her words are the ties that carry over and connect all her poems in this collection, (Im)Proper Nouns.
