LMFAO bet ya didn't expect that did ya!? Nah you probably did, anyway the reason why she's the least reliable for a pet it's kinda obvious, first of all, she would refuse to get her pet treatment when it almost turns blind and ma'am? Please help your dog???

Also if at any time the pet dies she would start another cult so let's not risk it with her. Instead of an animal maybe give her a rock instead pfttt (actually wait-no she'd probably throw it at our poor mint coloured hair boy just give her a dog plushy it smth she can't be trusted with alive things)

10. Saeyoung

You may be asking me, Amanda, why, Saeyoung absolutely loves cats he'd be a cool cat dad, and yes, you're right. But you also don't understand that this man's love for cats goes SO far that he will actually cause chaos all around him. He'd give the cat SO many treats, not only that, but he'd also cuddle them, and that's nice tight? Wrong. This man will try to stretch the cat, grab it and twirl it around, reenact the lion king and do the 'Simba' bit and everything. Not only that he'd completely use it to prank Zen and everyone else, overall, he'd be a great pet owner but it'd be too much chaos so let's just stick with loving cats from afar.

Also I feel like he'd get a snake for some reason, and he'd dress them up in like a fancy bowtie a hat, or an iguana or chameleon y'know? He'd go for the amphibian type :o

9. Ray

I love our boy, I really do, but honestly how do you expect him to take care of a dog if he can't take care of himself. 😢

Actually scratch that, if he had a dog he would definitely love it and spoil it, and we live for that but also:

Maybe give him a hamster or smth, while he's hacking away and watching MC in their room the hamster will be spinning on it's wheel super happy

And like his brother, because great minds think alike, maybe a chameleon. He'd be pretty scared of them at first but he found one under some flowers and decided to rescue it, and now he sort of ended up adopting it :D

Although I find it pretty unlikely that he'll get a pet, he's more into flowers anyway

I could see him as the pet owner that takes their dogs on walks and such, but honestly, if he's allergic to cats he's probably allergic to other animals too, at least some with a lot of hair! Although I feel like he'd get one of those big dogs and he'd go on runs with it all the time. The dog would be like the ones that are mostly thought of as super dangerous or aggressive but it turns out they're a sweetheart. Either that or a poodle 🐩💀 (but like I said, he's probably allergic to animals with lots of hair.)

Jihyun would be pretty good as a pet owner but honestly he'd be super nervous at everything at first. Welcome to the Jihyun apologizing to his pet show akdjdn. But would we trust him with a pet? He wasn't really able to take care of two teenage boys -although it was mostly because he was in a toxic relationship ����

When he has his sight problems he could totally get those helper dogs? (Forgot what they're called I'm sorry T_T)

He'd probably get a more chill pet tho, maybe a cat (he probably likes them a lot too! Also they're pretty calming.) So he could have like the guide dog and a small kitty too!

She'd be an awesome pet mom lol. I don't think she'd get a cat after being traumatized from pet-sitting Elizabeth. Maybe she could get like a turtle 🐢

You may be wondering once again, WHAT AND WHY

Suit would dffinetly get those scary and big dogs that have spiky collars and everything, and he'd probably call him something like Killer or Skull Destroyer, or maybe Blade lmao

And we all know he'd die for his dog. It's the only one he can trust ajdhdbdbd

He'd be like the bad boys that walk around with their dog everywhere growling at people (not just the dog, the two of them)

And "Spike" would be so well taken care of. Believers have to start doing draws to see who feeds the monster dog that always bites them PFTTT

The dog would also dffinetly know how to fight. It'd be cute if the only person he likes appart from Saeran tho is MC hehe

AND you cannot change my mind in this, ever since Saeran got "Dark Knight" (I'm experimenting with the dog names pfft) he's shown him a picture of Saeyoung and taught him to absolutely hate his guts, so Seven, buddy, maybe don't get to close to them lol

AND the backstory for this dog is that Saeran found him under some bushes, hurt, and the dog reminded him of when he was younger, so he took him in and that's how the doggie came to be :3

Adaptability- A JSE Egos Fanfic

Recap: Marvin and Jackieboyman were trying out a spell Marvin had been studying for a few months, trying to make a few plants large enough to be stable perches for Jackie’s new sidekick, Ferris, a juvenile Peregrine Falcon. Something backfired, however, and they found themselves with two new, plant-like additions to the family- Chomp, a comically large and mutated purple lily, which looks a bit like the Piranha plants from the Mario game series, and Thorn, a slightly oversized Venus Flytrap with a personality and smarts similar, if not slightly greater than, a cat’s (which is saying something, given its size and dopey, yet cute, appearance). Chomp is clearly more mouth and stomach than intelligence and beauty, while Thorn seems to be the smarter of the two, and refuses to leave Marvin’s side... er, rather, shoulder.

Henrik hummed quietly to himself as he walked along the street, wearing a grey hoodie because he’d been off work for the day, and didn’t need to wear the typical uniform he was seen in during videos. He was keeping his eyes peeled for any wounded animals on the streets, because, even though they weren’t all that common, he still somehow managed to find one every now and then. One of his favorite hobbies was helping injured stray or feral animals get back to full health, and return to the streets. Of course, there were obviously a few that would never be able to survive out on the loose again, so those ones were the ones he usually gave away to a center made specifically to help them, or to a person looking to adopt an animal in need. The most common cases of animals that wouldn’t be able to go back to the wild were usually birds or bats that broke or lost a wing. Their wings were fundamental to their survival, so without the ability to use both, they would probably starve, if they didn’t get eaten right away. Recently, he’d given a fox with three and a half legs to the local zoo, since he knew it wasn’t going to be able to adjust very well to being returned to the streets. It had apparently been ran over by a car, but was lucky enough to only have to have one of its legs amputated. The other front leg was broken when he got to it, but it healed back stronger than it originally was, with his and the local veterinarian’s help. Since he worked with humans, he always made sure to get regular checkups with a veterinarian for the animals he was helping, because they knew more about helping animals heal than he did.

He arrived home, having found no injured animals, unsurprisingly. He went upstairs, and into his bedroom, where he sat down at his desk and started working through paperwork of some kind.

A few hours passed, and nothing special happened. The sun had begun to set, and Henrik was taking a break from his work, knowing Seán would nag him if he saw that he hadn’t done anything but work since he got home. And then, it happened.

The sound of something crashing into a glass window erupted throughout his room, making his hands instinctively shoot up to cover his ears. He removed them, eyes wide, as he stared at the wide trail of glass draped from the window to a small, dark lump on the floor, and his eyes widened, as he realized what it was.

A bat? Why on earth would a bat be out so early? The sun’s barely gone down! He blinked, as he studied it more carefully, looking for injuries. He immediately jolted from his chair when he saw a small pool of blood around it, scooping the little creature up, and bolting downstairs.

“Hey! Schneep! Wait! What’s going on?!” Jackie yelped when he saw the doctor running past him.

“No time! Must get this little one to the vet, soon as possible!” He responded. Jackie let out a partly audible “oh shit”, and vaulted over the chair he was in, helping Schneep get the bat safely to the car. They got there fairly quickly, and Jackie nearly had to hold Schneep back to keep him from crashing into the veterinarian’s office in almost the same way the bat had crashed into the doctor’s room.

As soon as Schneep managed to explain what happened to the clerk at the desk, which, admittedly, took a few tries, because he was speaking quickly, and he wasn’t exactly fluent in English just yet, the vet that usually came to help with whatever animal Schneep had with him, Doctor Lewis, was rushed in, and took the little bat into their emergency care room. Schneep opted to come with, but was told it would probably be best if he just stayed in the waiting room.

Henrik thanked the doctor once he paid the bill, and left, the bat gently cradled in his arms as he went back to the car, where Jackie was already waiting for him. The drive back home was much calmer, since they didn’t have to worry about a potentially dead or dying fruit bat this time. Schneep made sure to memorize the instructions he’d been given on how to help the bat heal as best it could, his heart still a little heavy, knowing that with its wing broken, it wouldn’t be able to survive out in the wild ever again.

“... So, Jackie, you mentioned a fiancé earlier, yes?” Henrik finally decided to fill the awkward silence with a conversation.

“Oh! Uh, heh... Y-Yeah. I... I proposed to my girlfriend, Ava, on the 28th of October... It was our four-year anniversary, so I-I figured it was time I, uh, sealed the deal, y’know?” He laughed nervously, his cheeks a little bit red as he spoke about it. Henrik couldn’t help but to feel happy for his brother; He would be starting a family soon, right?

“Yes, it would be a good time for that, wouldn’t it? Any plans for what will happen afterwards?” He didn’t want to push the topic of kids on his brother, knowing firsthand how annoying it was to have people constantly bothering you about such things.

“Yeah... A-Ava’s due to give birth soon... I’m really excited for it. The doc we’ve been seeing for things like ultrasounds and prenatal care thinks it’s gonna be a boy.” Jackie’s eyes lit up as he spoke, the hero obviously being excited for fatherhood.

“What? And why have I not heard of this until now, dear brother?” Schneep’s eyes also lit up at the news, and he sat up straight in his seat.

“Well... we were gonna keep it a secret... But, I-I just can’t help myself! I’m... I’m really excited for this, and, well, you know me! I-I can’t keep a secret for six months, let alone nine!”

Henrik smiled, laughing a bit as he spoke, “Ah, that, you cannot, my friend.”

[January 2nd, 2017, our time]

Jackie held up a little slice of an apple to their new bat friend, hoping to get him to eat some. The little creature just shrunk back from him, obviously not wanting to eat.

“Schneeeeeppp!” Jackie whined, giving up, “Your dumb winged rat won’t- Ow!” He dropped the apple slice as his hand snapped to cradle the back of his head, after Schneep socked it pretty hard.

“Do not insult him for refusing to eat, Simon!” He snapped, his tone making Jackie shrink back in surprise. Jackie was well aware of what it meant if Henrik were to address him with his secret identity instead of his hero name, but that didn’t mean the tone was any less shocking.

“Sheesh! Calm down, will ya? I was just joking! Listen, can you just... do the thing?? I can practically hear the little guy’s stomach rumbling from all the way in the living room!” He complained, earning a glare from his brother.

He picked up the slice of apple Jackie dropped, and held it out to the little bat, “Fine. Is about time he got his third meal of the day, anyways.”

The bat squeaked quietly as the apple was held out to him, and happily grabbed onto it, using his good arm to nibble on it.

“See, brother? Is not that hard.”

“Yeah, well, you have a knack for this kind of thing. I don’t.”

[April 14th, 2017, our time]

Chase, the newest addition to the family, stared at the little bat with intrigue, his eyes almost unblinking as he stared back.

“You know you can ask me whatever questions you have about him.” He stated flatly.

The younger ego turned and looked at him, eyes still a bit wider than normal, “What’s its name?”

Henrik blinked, having not considered naming it before, “... What?”

“Name, doc. What’s the lil’ guy’s name? He is your pet, right?”

“Well, at this point, I suppose is only fitting to call him my ‘pet’...”

“Okay, so, name, then?”

“He... does not have a name. We were not aware that he would stay very long.”

“Man, you guys are boring. If none of you are gonna name ‘im, I guess it’s up’ta me, then.” Chase had a big grin on his face now.

“Wait, what-?” Chase interrupted him before he could say any more.

Chase turned to look back at the bat in front of him, “You, my friend, will be called Nectar, from here on out.”

“Why?”

“‘Cuz he’s a fruit bat, and fruit bats like nectar.” Jackie could be heard muffling a bit of laughter.

“... Do not laugh at me, Jackie. Is surely not so funny that you have to cover your mouth.”

“Sorry.” The hero grinned, holding back more laughter, and earning another glare from his brother. Rogers, the cat that Henrik had been nursing back to health for a few days, which lost its eyesight to a fight with another cat, jumped up onto the table, purring, and affectionately pressed its head into Chase’s shoulder, making the young ego laugh, and ruffle its fluffy fur.

                        Apple Juice and Washing Machines 

   Over the course of the next week, Jimin had participated in every activity the shelter had to offer and had chosen his new favorite room in the shelter.  As soon as he attended one of Hoseok’s dance classes, no one could pull him out of the studio room, even after the class.  He was the first one to show up and always the last to leave.

    He had begun to open up more, as well, not just to Jungkook either.  Seokjin had learned that he didn’t like the scent of mango because it reminded him of an attic he was once kept in after asking Jimin to to help cut one for lunch.  Jackson had learned that Jimin once had a pet puppy that resembled Jackson both in looks and in personality after they saw a girl walking her dog outside the shelter.  And Jimin….he learned that he liked pink.  No.  He loved it, and no one told him it was wrong.  

   No one even batted an eye when slipped on the pink sweater Yoongi had left for him Sunday this morning instead of the white shirt Jungkook had given him when he arrived.  They had tried to give him different clothing each day, but Jimin refused to take them.  These clothes were perfectly clean.  Why did he need to change?  The sudden change of hue on the cat was a surprise to everyone because they couldn’t even get him to take another shelter-issued outfit, let alone go shopping for his own.

   Jimin had also been trying to determine a way to thank Yoongi for the sweater had had been wearing all week, but he couldn’t decide on one.  He tried to draw something for him, but he couldn’t get it quite right.  He wanted to try a dance for him, but he knew he wouldn’t pick it up fast enough.  He even tried to cook him something, but he burned his hand on the stove.  Nothing was working, and Yoongi would be here soon!

   He pondered over his options all day since he woke up this morning.  Yoongi had arrived just before lunch time with some takeout boxes from the cafe they went to last weekend.  Soon, Youngjae had downed a bowl of macaroni and was working on another.

   Jimin was still refusing to use chopsticks or even a spoon and continued opting for his hands to pick the meat and vegetables out of his soup before he drank it.  Luckily, today’s meal wasn’t too messy.  A simple bowl of noodles with some meat and a cup of juice.

   Jin told him it would be a bit before they could customize cups and utensils for him to use like the others because they wanted to get to know what he liked first, like colors and styles.  Today, they gave him a red plastic cup without a lid.  He was confident he wouldn’t spill any, but he made sure to be very careful when taking a sip.

   He watched across the room as Jin rearranged some things on a board, Namjoon picking up a picture that Seokjin had dropped.  Jin smiled as he pinned the picture back up before thanking Namjoon was a kiss on the cheek, but the moment was interrupted by a loud yelp from Jimin, whose cup had slipped out of his hands and spilled all over his lap and precious sweater.  

   Jin sighed and began to approach Jimin, but he didn’t get far as yoongi had already made it to the cat and was on his knees in front of him, dabbing at the spill with a towel as the younger started to cry.  

   "I ruined it!  I ruined it!“ he squeaked with tears starting to streak down his face, "I’m sorry!”

   Yoongi had dealt with many crying hybrids before, so he knew exactly what to do, putting on a soft smile and a gentle voice.  However, this was different.  Normally, he’d be annoyed and would have to fake it, but it cam naturally with Jimin.  The only other people he was like this with were his best friends.

   "Shh, it’s okay,“ Yoongi smiles, "We can clean it.”

   Jimin hiccups and looks down at Yoongi, watching him pat the sweater with the towel gently.  He sniffles and wipes his eyes with his messy hands.

   "W-Weally?“ he mumbled in amazment, "It’s not ruined?  You’re not mad?”

   Yoongi smiles and shakes his head, moving his hand lower to dry Jimin’s lap as best he could, “Of course not.  It’s just some apple juice.”

   Jimin’s eyes mimiced saucers, and his cheeks could be mistaken for cherry tomatoes as Yoongi’s big hands pressed down on his thigh.  Jimin couldn’t help the inappropriate thoughts developing in his mind, especially after Yoongi’s hand not-so-subtly pressed down directly on his crotch to dry the liquid.  He bit his lip for a moment to keep the surprised gasp in his throat before returning to the same doe-eyed expression as before when Yoongi looked up at him.

   "Let’s go get you some new clothes,“ he grinned as he stood up, holding out his hand, "and Jin can clean up here.”

   Yoongi shot Jin a sly smirk as jimin wrapped his small hand around Yoongi’s, which was significantly larger.  Jin glared in response.  He didn’t think Yoongi alone with any hybrid was a good idea, especially Jimin.  They barely knew the boy, and it was obvious that Yoongi had uncharacteristically developed an interest in him in two short days.

   Namjoon, however, though it was amazing.  They were always trying to get him to socialize with the other hybrids to find one that would work with him, and this was getting more and more interesting the longer they watched.  He knew there was something special about the cat since he first saw Jin holding him out in the rain.  He couldn’t quite see it, but he knew it was there. He wrapped his arm around his boyfriend’s shoulder and kissed his temple.

   "Let it play out,“ Namjoon smiles, "He knows the rules.”

   Jin bit his cheek and sighs, watching the two leve the room.  They had rules for a reason, and Yoongi had never broken any of them as he was the one who helped establish them years ago.  Namjoon rubs Jin’s ears before sending him off to console a crying Youngjae who was thrashing around in Jaebum’s arms, trying to break away to Yoongi, and yelling ‘oppa!  oppa!’ over and over.  

   Away from the scene in the kitchen, Yoongi leads Jimin down the hall to a laundry room.  They kept all the clothes they use in emergencies in a closet off the room.  Yoongi lets go of Jimin’s hand to open the closet door to reveal shelves of the only other in tact outfit Jimin owned: a loose, white, short-sleeved shirt and a pair of black basketball shorts.  Jimin marveled at them as Yoongi plucked a set off a pile on the bottom shelf.  

   "Do you need help changing or can you do it by yourself?“

   Jimin’s eyes snapped to Yoongi’s.  A shy as he was, he wanted to say he could do it by himself, but he didn’t want to be alone.  The sounds of the washers and dryers scared him.  They reminded him of cold, lonely nights, curled up and listening to the clothes being tossed around to block out the sound of the storm.

   "Jimin?” Yoongi asked softly, “Do you need help getting cleaned up?”

   Jimin looked away from him, focusing on a washing machine slightly shaking a few feet away as he considered declining the offer, but he nodded his head.

   "Okay,“ Yoongi smiled, setting the clothes on a machine beside them that wasn’t on, "we’ll start with your sweater then.  Arms up.”

   Jimin looked up at the taller and slowly raised his arms up as high as he could get them, allowing Yoongi to lift the sweater up and over his head.

   "Good job!“ Yoongi praised with a pat to Jimin’s head as he tossed the sweater in an unmarked laundry basket, "Now, your shorts.”

   A light shade a red flushed over Jimin’s  face with those words.  He looked down at them and then hid his face in his hands, making Yoongi chuckle.  

   "It’s okay, I’m not going to do anything bad,“ he assured, "Just gonna clean you so you’re not sticky.”

   He reaches up to a shelf to pull down some baby wipes while joking to make Jimin feel better, “No one likes a sticky kitty, now do they?”

   Jimin smiles a bit and shakes his head as he pulls down his shorts and steps out of them, “No one wikes a sticky kitty.”

   "There you go,“ Yoongi grins, tossing them in the basket with the sweater, "Now, we can get you all cleaned up and get you some chocolate.”

   Jimin’s smile grew with the mention of the sweet treat that him and Yoongi shared last week.  Yoongi found himself on his knees again, rubbing the wet cloth on Jimin’s thighs to get any possible juice that had seeped through his shorts.  Next, he cleaned off Jimin’s hands and face before moving onto his stomach.  He was positive none of the juice had gotten through the sweater, but it was an excuse to touch Jimin’s newly forming abs.  Yoongi wasn’t one to let it show, but he was just as mesmerize by Jimin as Jimin was by him.  

   After a moment of them both staring into each other’s eyes, Yoongi realized how low his hand was getting and so did Jimin.  Yoongi cleared his throat as he pulled his hand away, breaking both of them out of the trance they were seemingly caught in.  He threw away the wipe before turning back to Jimin with a smile.

   "All clean!“

   Jimin smiled at the clean feeling and watched Yoongi open the new pair of shorts at his feet.

   "Hold onto my shoulders and step into the one at a time.” Yoongi explains.

   Jimin hesitantly let his tiny hands grip onto Yoongi’s shoulders before placing his right foot in the piece of clothing, following suit with his left.  Yoongi pulled the shorts up to cover the red boxers Jimin had on.  A blush crept across his cheeks as Yoongi’s hands brushed over his butt and rested on his hips.  

   "There we go.“ Yoongi smiles up at Jimin, "Personally, I think you should just go shirtless.”

   The older topped his whispering with a playful wink and a cocky smirk, making Jimin’s eyes go wide again.  He stuttered a bit, his blush growing darker, as he tried to find something to say, but he couldn’t even put two words together.  He, instead, smiled and looked away, reaching for his shirt when a loud buzzing noise came from a dryer behind them.  Jimin shrieked in fear and threw himself in Yoongi’s arms, burying his face in the other’s chest to get away from the noise.  Yoongi was surprised by the sudden action, but he wrapped his arms around Jimin immediately and rubbed his back.

   "Jimin,“ Yoongi said quietly, "are you okay?”  

   Jimin whimpered and nodded, refusing to pull his head up.  A sigh fell from Yoongi’s lips.  He knew Jimin was lying;it was obvious.  

   "Are you scared of the washing machines?“ he asks curiously.

   Jimin nodded again but didn’t make a sound.  Yoongi thinks for a moment before an idea forms in his head.

   "Do you trust me?”

   Jimin nodded again without hesitation.  Yoongi pulls away to stand on his feet, Jimin looking up at him with big, confused eyes.  Yoongi offers his hand which Jimin quickly takes in his own.  Yoongi slowly walks Jimin a few steps, then turns to him, quickly lifting him up and placing him on a still machine before Jimin could process what’s going on.

   Once he felt the slight vibration from the neighboring machine and the cold metal against his skin, he wasn’t happy.  He wanted down.  Now.  Fear swept over Jimin’s face as panic shot through his body.  He began to claw at Yoongi to get away from the contraptions.  He whimpered and wrapped his arms around Yoongi’s neck as he hooked his legs around his waist, whining in fear.  Yoongi shushed him and rubbed his back soothingly.  

   "Shh,“ he coos, "it’s okay.  It’s not gonna hurt you.”

   Jimin just held on tighter.

   "P-Promise?“ he asks, his voice small and muffled.

   "I promise.”

   Jimin takes a moment to process Yoongi’s promise before loosening his grip on the man.  He takes a deep breath and pulls away to look up at Yoongi’s smiling face.

   "There’s the brave kitty.“

   Jimin smiles widely and looks down at the machine currently washing one of the other hybrid’s clothes.  he hesitantly reaches out a shaky hand to place his palm on the lid of the machine.

   "No scawe.” he mumbles to himself, “Bwave kitty.”

   Yoongi watches with a proud smile, rubbing the bit of Jimin’s hips that poked out above the waist band of the short with the pads of his thumbs.  Jimin shifted his gaze back up to Yoongi, his hand still on the metal lid.  He looked over Yoongi’s face as he remembered the exchange between Jin and Namjoon earlier.  Before he could shy away from the thought, he quickly leaned up and pecked Yoongi’s cheek.

   "Thank you.“ he whispered as he pulled away, refusing to look back up at him in fear he didn’t appreciate the bold gesture of gratitude.  

   "You’re welcome.” Yoongi beams, returning the gesture by placing a kiss on Jimin’s cheek.

   The young cat blushed brightly as he looked up in awe at the human.  Yoongi then unfolds the shirt and bunches it at the top.

   "Let’s get back out there and get you some chocolate, yeah?“ Yoongi grins, making Jimin’s face light up, and pulls the shirt over his head.

   Namjoon had managed to convince Jin to keep his thought to himself until they could discuss it alonce, preferably with Hoseok as a mediator.  Seokjin settled for consistent glances at Yoongi to observe his bahavior, which seemed normal for the rest of the day until Jin lost track of him.  Much to Jin’s dismay, he couldn’t leave his group alone to search for Yoongi.  However, he found out where the human slipped off to later that night after bedtime.

   "Excuse me?!”

   Jin looked over the adoption form that had Yoongi’s name at the top and small note from him at the bottom: “I already scheduled a metting with Jimin on the 16th.  Check your laptop.”

   Jin almost pushed Namjoon away from the computer so he could pull up Namjoon’s schedule.  Sure enough, there was a meeting between the three scheduled for ten in the morning Monday.

   "What in the hell does he think he’s doing?!“

   "Babe. what’s wrong with him seeing Jimin?  You’re always trying to get him to see the other hybrids.”

   "I have a bad feeling, okay?!“ Jin squeaks, "He barely knows the boy, and he’s that quick to jump to the rescue?!”

   "He was just trying to help.“ Namjoon sighs.

   "And when have you known him to be like that?”

   "All the time.“

   "Not with us!’ Jin snaps, knowing Namjoon knew exactly what he meant.

   "You know it’s not like that.”

   "Then what is it like?“

   "You know what it’s like.”  Namjoon states calmly, “You know what happened.”

   Jin immediately softens, remembering the day Yoongi told him of the accident and how he blames himself for its occurance.  That’s why he’s so uneasy around hybrids he only comes once or twice a week to make sure Youngjae, Jaebum, and Jinyoung are okay.  It’s why he has strict rulles for them when he takes them out.  It’s why he doesn’t get along with Seokjin or the rules Namjoon has for him.

   "I’m sorry.“ Jin mumbles, looking at his feet.

   Namjoon pulls him into his lap and wraps his arms around Jin’s waist.

   "It’s okay, kitten,” Namjoon says softly, resting his chin on the older’s shoulder, “Just give him a chance, okay?”

   Jin sighs and looks over the form again, inspecting each of his answers like they were clues to an unsolved murder and he was the detective desperately trying to crack the case.

   "Okay,“ Jin agrees, "but you watch him.”

   "I will,“ Namjoon chuckles, kissing Jin’s cheek, "I promise.”

I don’t wear a lot of makeup. Cause I’m 50. Well 49 and a half. or so. I don’t look my age and that’s cool. I dye my hair cause it comes in grey but I dyed it since I was 16 so its not a big thing. 

I love makeup, dont get me wrong. I wear enough when I go out. Sometimes too much. It’s hard to get it just right cause when you get older it sinks into your fine lines and makes you look much older. 

I have a lot of friends who are significantly younger than me. Almost all of them really. Because I like to do things younger people do and I don’t like to do whatever it is I’m supposed to be doing with people my age. 

I don’t even know what that is. 

But I’m pretty sure I don’t like doing it. 

My girlie friends who are much younger than me spend time and money on makeup that I just don’t anymore, because my skin looks better than its ever looked. I had acne from the day i turned 16 to somewhere around 42 I think. I still get a pimple now and again but its pretty rare. Maybe because I wear a lot less makeup. 

I like to make some attempt at covering the dark circles under my eyes. And I like to wear eye shadow, mascara and lipstick. I’m not gonna give myself cartoon eyebrows no matter how trendy they get. 

I decided years ago that all the girls i know who draw on completely fake faces are pretty much showing me who they really are.. Girls who look fake usually are fake. I decided not to be one of them. 

I like makeup though. When I could wear a ton of it, I most certainly did. So it’s weird for me when the young girls I know talk about makeup and exclude me from the conversation thinking me a person who doesn’t care about such things. 

But makeup has gotten a lot more expensive than it used to be too, and girls it seems are taking youtube makeup tips from drag queens these days. It seems like you have to wear a lot more makeup, you have a lot more products and you have to buy really expensive brands to be in with the cool kids.

Every once in awhile I’ll buy one of these expensive products and I almost always don’t see enough of a difference between the cheaper brands to buy that again. 

I posted a selfie last night after I just put on my makeup. It always looks best in the first 10 minutes. I go out and eat and drink and sweat and its rare i come back home looking as pretty as I started.

I dont generally take makeup with me. I put it on and I go out and it fades away or it doesn’t. Sometimes I’ll take lipstick if i know im gonna be eating. Even my lipstick I need to wear lighter lip liners now because it settles in my fine lines and wrinkles I didnt even know were there.

I don’t mind looking more natural. I feel like it’s a visual sign to people that I’m more real than the other girls. I like to think that’s true. 

I dye my hair a lighter color than i did when i was younger too. its subtle but it makes a difference and keeps you younger looking. 

Most guys one or two years younger than me look and act about 10 years older than me and are in shock and disbelief when i correct them for talking to me like I’m too young to remember things they do. I’ll swear to them I’m older than they are. I can win drinks that way if I make bets before I show em my drivers licence. 

I really think a lot of it is because women my age who look good lie about their age. Because they can get away with it. So no one knows what women my age actually look like anyway. That’s why everyone thinks I’m in my late 30s/early 40′s.

When I *was* in my 30′s people guessed my age at 3 years older than they were. No matter what age they were. 

Last time I told a guy how old I was he was really confused. He’s known me for years. One of the first conversations we had was about how I was way older than he was thinking I was. I knew how old he was but he lied to me and made himself 10 years younger. Thinking I was about 10 years younger than him and I’d be more interested if he were of similar age. Which effectively made him too young for me. I told him what was what. Cause I’m like that. and he was all noooooooo can’t be.. and i guess he forgot about it cause it was all new to him all over again a few weeks ago. 

I don’t mind being old. Younger guys are into it so there’s no issue there but I do have this weird fear that I’m about to cross the 50 threshold and its all over for me after that. It’s probably not true but I do feel like there’s a limit to how old an older woman can get and still be considered sexy. 

I don’t know what I do after that. Once I get too old. I’m sure I’ll still be cute and fun and I’ll still do stuff but I think there’s a point when you get old when people think you’re “spunky”, but not “sexy” anymore.

So I’m kinda milking the sexy older woman stereotype while I still can cause I think im nearing the end of my shelf life with that. 

But truthfully the “sexy older woman” isn’t really me. I’m not that into cougaring anyone. The boys want me to. Cause they’ve got some fantasy about that, but it’s not who I am or what I do or what I’m looking for in a relationship. 

Because when it comes right down to it, That’s really just them wanting to use me for sex while imagining that *I’m* using *them* for sex. 

I’m in a good place right now. I have a good life and I like where I’ve landed. My cute little house, my two perfect kitty cats who at the moment aren’t causing me any issues, my job I actually like for clients i get along with and lots of cats and dogs to pass my work days with. I like my city and I’ve made some friends here I trust and care about. 

I don’t feel like I have any old issues or baggage outstanding. I’ve dealt with my shit and I’ve framed everything in a good way. I feel like I’ve said what I’ve needed to say to who I’ve needed to say it to. I’ve learned from my mistakes and I’m working on not repeating them. I’m not self-destructive and I try to be a good supportive friend for people. I’m not perfect but I try and I think I get it more right than wrong most of the time these days. 

So life is grand and I’m gonna be 50 in four more months.

I never knew what that would look like for me. 

I feel like a lot of the things I used to be sad about or worry about don’t matter so much anymore. Like I’ve learned to let things go better. Not just grudges. I never put a lot of faith in other people’s expectations of me so those things never weighed heavily on me, but I think I had some of my own that I haven’t been able to get right yet. I’ve only recently given myself permission to be happy anyway and I’ll either get there or I won’t. 

They say life begins at 40. When I turned 40 I kind of expected some magical change to occur. I even moved cities and tried to affect the change myself but i can’t say there ever really was one. 

but somewhere inbetween 40-50 I learned to be less hard on myself. I fixed one problem at a time until there were more things right in my life than wrong with my life. And then things were pretty good. 

as I approach the 50 mark, it seems like most things are pretty good. Best life I’ve lived ever. Thank goodness. It feels like a relief. To be able to sit in my living room and feel like everything is good. 

Not perfect but good. 

I wear less makeup and I dye my hair a lighter color. I’ve softened a lot of my edges metaphorically as well. It’s a better look all around when you’re older.
